Transmission slipping at 58k Radiator leak at 52k Fuel Pump went out at 42k
2019 Chevy Silverado RST turbo. 46K miles. Truck would feel like it skipped a gear a few times for a few months; I chalked it up to needing a new air filter. Had that and the oil changed. Ran normal for about 3 weeks. Check engine light came on and began flashing, service esc and service parking brake lights came on. Truck would vibrate while at an idle. Truck would not get up and go and when it go to 30mph, it would violently shake and stutter. Changed the 4 spark plugs, with number 4 being the worst, then 1, then 2 and 3. Mind you, the truck only has 46K miles. Got them replaced, removed the negative battery terminal to reset the codes and now the heat isn't working.
Leaking rear window, rear differential replacement due to bearing failure

Blower motor quit working and started on fire, truck burnt down
The transmission failed at 100,000 miles and the engine failed at 130,000 miles. Available for inspection. Yes the dealer confirmed both failures. No warnings. Immediate failure with engine light. Barely made it home with the transmission and the engine just stopped out of nowhere due to the dynamic fuel management system and oil consumption starvation.
While operating my vehicle at normal capacity the engine lost power and jolted very hard and the vehicle began shaking. I heard knocking noises coming from within the engine. The truck only has 68k highway miles on it with regular maintenance done by the dealer. My 2010 version of this truck lasted longer than this one. Gm is telling me I need a $7800.00 dollar repair that I am on the arm for. There was nothing out of the ordinary that could have caused this. I am aware of others having the same problem. It would not be safe if I was traveling faster.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 74 MPH, the message “No Oil Pressure - Pull Over Immediately" was displayed. The contact immediately pulled over and was unable to restart the vehicle. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed with an oil cooler line failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The vehicle had been serviced and repaired by the dealer under warranty. The failure mileage was 42,100.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, a puddle of oil had accumulated underneath the vehicle between the two front wheels. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to TSB Number: N212326940 (If the Engine Oil Cooler EOC lines leak, there may be an oil leak on the ground and if the EOC lines detach while operating the vehicle, there will be an immediate decrease in oil pressure). The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while his son was driving approximately 30 MPH, the "Low Oil Pressure" message was displayed. After stopping the vehicle and adding oil to the engine, it was discovered that the oil immediately leaked out onto the ground. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer and diagnosed with a leaking oil cooler line. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.
When shifting to park and shut truck off a shift to park warning comes on dash and you can shut engine off or lock door if you try the horn starts honking. I took it to dealer they had it for 2 days said it showed no costs nor could they get it to happen so they say. It dose it almost every time you shut it off. They sent me home and the problem is the same.

The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
Oil lines to oil cooler leaking oil with possibility of failure and loss of engine oil while driving.
NEED TO REPLACE THE OIL COOLER LINE ASSY, THE RUBBER HOSE SEPERATED FROM THE METAL TUBING, CAUSING A LOST OF 6 QTS OF OIL ON THE ROADWAY. I UNDERSTAND THERS IS A RECALL IN CANADA AND ALASKA, NOT HERE IN STATES
On November 14, 2022, I noticed Water leaking in Rear Interior of Cab, Water Leak at Rear Sliding Window. It is clear that it had leaked before as there was several noticeable stains. I took the vehicle up to the Chevrolet dealership in Frisco, Tx to show them. They stated it was a known problem. Another Chevrolet Silverado was next to mine that they said was there for the same reason. [XXX], the service technician told me it was going to be in excess of $4000 to repair. I do not have an extended warranty and the vehicle is outside the standard 3-year warranty. This seems absurd since it is a known issue and clearly a defect in the manufacturing process of the vehicle. There was an NHTSA bulletin issued in August 2020 for this same issue. The bulletin number is 18-NA-383. The vehicle should be recalled and the issue fixed by Chevrolet since is is clearly a defect in the manufacturing process. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
A message on the dashboard showed that the wear sensor wasnt working correctly. After driving it and letting it sit parked, when i went to drive it again there was error messages on the screen showing that brake system failure and to service the ESC. You can reproduce the problem because i tried disconnecting the battery and the message doesn’t go away.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 55-60 MPH, the vehicle made an abnormally loud grinding sound, jerked, and then stalled. The contact's husband was able to pull over to the side of the road. The ESC warning light was illuminated. The vehicle towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a misfire in cylinder #1. The dealer determined that the driver's side engine lifters and the camshaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a misfire in cylinder #7. The dealer determined that the passenger's side engine lifters and camshaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: PE25001 (Engine, Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.
Changed my oil and filter and notice a oil leak from under my radiator area. Investigated and found that the oil cooler lines was leaking from crimp joints. Contacted GM and local dealer and they would not make repairs without charging me for the repair and service, told me that my vehicle was not included in the Customer Satisfaction Program Number N212326940 and that my truck was out of warranty at 36000 miles. Current miles 38700, I believe that this was leaking at or around 35000 miles but was in between oil changes. Didn't find it until I did a oil change.
Parked in parking on an attempt to crank and leave the power steering would not turn the vehicle and a message appeared stating power steering needs immediate attention and the anti skid light appeared as well as abs message. These messages may not be exact but my concern is if I attempt to drive and the power assist goes out and I cannot control my vehicle. I will say that I went back to where the vehicle was left parked attempt to drive after sitting 1-2 hours and the messages were gone and the power steering had returned.
This truck has about 35,000 miles on it and the frame is rusted severely. Doesn’t feel safe to drive. Have to because it’s my only vehicle.
Pressed the brake and service ESC/ service Brake Assist/ Check Engine/ ABS/ lights came on. Speed was restricted to 43 mph, speed was restricted to 62 mph. Cruise control was disabled. Brake Pad monitoring system read incorrectly. Took it to dealership for further inspection.
Lifter went bad with no warning. Caused engine damage and need costly repairs. Truck only has 68,000 miles on it. Has had all service with manufacturers recommended synthetic oil. Truck has been babied and has hardly pulled any trailers at all. Never been off road. Very disappointed.
Backup camera turned blue, not allowing me to view if a child is behind my truck. This is a safety issue because a child could be killed because you cannot see them. I have found out that this is an issue with allot of gm trucks/cars. But gm does not see this as an issue enough to put out a recall!
While pulling into a gas station travelling no more than 10 mph the truck turned hard toward a gas pump island and crashed into the island barrier guard. After shutting down the engine and restarting I pulled the truck out of contact with the barrier. The ESC light is now on. It still drives but pulls hard to the right. I have contacted the local dealer that I will be using for repairs and will deliver it to their shop tomorrow. It has not been inspected yet. After the incident the ESC light was illuminated and still is.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and test driven. The contact was informed that the cam shaft and lifters needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the oil pressure sensor warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the same local dealer where it was diagnosed that there were metal shavings inside the engine. The mechanic informed the contact that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that after the vehicle had been idle, the contact attempted to accelerate and the vehicle lost power steering functionality. The service power steering and the ESC warning lights were illuminated. The local dealer was contacted and notified of the failure however, the vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
Lost all power steering and brake pedal did not work properly. Could not steer vehicle at all even using both hands on steering wheel. I shut off the truck, turned it back on and "service power steering" light came on the dashboard. Steering did not work at all so I shut it off. Called dealer to report problem and left a message to call me back.( I did not hear back from the dealer.) After a short period of time, I restarted the truck and the service light was still on, but the steering and brakes were working so I drove it home. I took it to the dealership on Sept 5th to explain what happened. They pulled up 8 codes from the truck and made me an appt for sept 8th. They informed me that there was a wire chafing problem with this particular truck, but upon inspection on the 8th, they said they could not find a bad wire. They told me to drive it until it happens again! Not being able to steer or brake are DEFINITELY SAFETY issues !
I have had to replace the transmission at 80k miles.the vehicle was shuddering so bad. Slipping gears and shifting very aggressively. The transmission is an 8 speed 8l90. This is unacceptable for gm to get away with this. Please do something I don’t want this to happen again. This same exact problem is happening to so many people!
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 55 mph, the upper control arm and the ball joint detached from the passage side tire. I have had issues with the transmission of my 2019 Silverado RST since about 25,000 mile. I've had the vehicle in for service of the transmission multiple times and the issue is still unresolved. The vehicle will hard shift into second gear and downshift into different gears intermittently. I've followed through with all the maintenance that is required since I've owned this vehicle at the dealer level only. They've been the ones to recommend the maintenance items due to mileage. This includes the replacement of the trans fluid as well as the rear differential fluids. This problem is only getting worse now and it seems that GM is having dealers push these problems far enough without resolution that the owner would be outside the original power train warranty of the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle was shuttering with a whining sound coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. On another occasion, while driving 70 MPH, the engine revved but the transmission failed to shift gear as needed and the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle was not able to restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The truck at times and getting more frequent will at times jerk when downshifting and at times will be so bad it feels like you were rear ended. Had an issue 2 weeks ago this happened and the service engine light and anti skid light came on the interstate on ramp. The truck would not accelerate. I had to pull over, shut truck off for a couple minutes for computer to reset. Anti skid light went off but service engine light stayed on for several more days. Called dealership and service writer said down shift problems are normal, it's a learning feature. Truck has 52000 miles should have learned by now.
While traveling at 35mph engine oil cooler line failed. Got a warning chime and message saying “Oil Pressure Low Turn Vehicle off”. Had car towed to the dealership and upon inspection found the line had completely separated from the hose. This seems to be an ongoing problem that is not being resolved for the lower 48 states. Could result in catastrophic engine failure, fire, or an accident for anyone making a sudden stop in traffic.
Vehicle is showing the GM "SHIFT TO PARK" error code on the dash board, when turning the engine off.
I have a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado LT 1500 with only 19K Miles. When I brought this vehicle I was having problems with hearing a loud clunking noise coming from the rear of the Vehicle. Every Time I Stop at a red light, stop at a stop sign, yield at a yield sign, and slow down to turn in my driveway I can hear this clunking noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. If someone is riding in the backseat of the vehicle, they can feel the clunking noise every time I hit the brakes or slow down. After doing some research I honestly believe it’s the drive shaft that is on my vehicle that is causing this issue. Also, my vehicle does a hesitation when trying to accelerate on the gas pedal, which the drive shaft can cause this issue as well. There is a recall against this issue (Drive Shaft) but my Vin Number doesn’t call for a recall, I believe my vin number was missed in this recall. This is very dangerous because my Drive Shaft can drop beneath my vehicle while driving on the roads or highways and can cause my Truck to loose control and get into a serious accident or fatal accident. All I want is to have the Chevrolet Dealership to repair my Drive Shaft for free, because Chevrolet states that they will fixed all the drive shaft that is on recall on there time and the customer doesn’t have to pay anything. Please follow up on this serious matter. I don’t feel safe driving my truck anymore, so I keep it parked in my garage. PS : I took my truck in several times to three Chevrolet Dealership when I had full warranty’s and each Dealership told me that my truck is fine, I just have to drive it because it’s still new and this is not a problem at all.
Started truck had several warnings for Service ESC, Traction control, service 4wheel drive and parking brake would not release
I have a 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 that has been well taken care of. I got into my truck and went to start it and a bunch of warning lights appeared stating brake system failure, service ESC, traction control off and 4WD off. The check engine light also came on with multiple other warning lights. I had a family member jump my truck and I was able to make it home. I hooked it up to my code reader and it showed- P25A2 Brake System Control Module 1. This has been a known issue and has been recalled twice for about 550,000 of the 2019 Silverado 1500, but my VIN isn’t included, even though it’s clearly having the same issue. The fix is to have the brake system reprogrammed by the dealership. Since my VIN isn’t listed I’m not getting any help with the issue.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 used to tow a dual axle boat trailer. The trailer manufacturer was Trailstar International Inc, Model: Tracker Marine. The contact stated that the rear wheel bearings exploded and fractured the hub housing. The contact stated that the failure occurred while driving approximately 65 MPH. The contact was able to drive the trailer safely to his residence. The contact stated there was a recall for the failure that was experienced; however, for another year trailer. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
Oil cooling line failure at crimp joint. If oil line were to come apart all the oil would come out under the vehicle which could cause a vehicle to go out of control or vehicle surrounding this vehicle to go out of contoll. Plus it would destroy the engine. Independent service center confirmed the issue. Other than myself and the independent shop inspected it. The car was at the dealer and said it was normal oil consumption. They did not due their due diligence to determine the cause of the oil loss. The warning comes on the information screen saying to add oil. There was a Technical Service Bullentin (n212326940) issued by GM that expired on July 31, 2023 to address this specific issue with a NHTSA ID 10200186. The problem is GM states that my VIN number was not part of this correction. The TSB only pertained to a small specific group. In researching this it is a wide spread issue of failures for this specific part. My truck was at the dealer the summer of 2022 but because the cooling line leakage is at the front of the vehicle dripping right under the front bumper, almost 20 inches from the motor it never dawned on me that it was part of an oil loss issue from the cooling line. At the time it was in it was still under the 3 year, 36 month warranty. Which meant it would have been covered.
The contact's fiancé owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving 65 MPH, the vehicle independently stopped with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The transmission resumed normal operation soon after the failure before failing again. The contact later discovered that an Over-The-Air (OTA) software update was performed on the vehicle without the owner’s knowledge. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where another software update for the brake control module was performed. The failure occurred for a second time as the contact's fiancé was driving again at 65 MPH; however, he managed to drive the vehicle home despite the repeated failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and her fiancé was offered a gift certificate for his next oil change. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.
Water leak on rear windshield creating damage on floor and headliner my safety is at risk because there are electrical cables on top of the head liner that can create a fire if get wet also the bad smell i notify chevrolet gm and the dealership all the silverado 2019 with the rear sliding window leak water and this is a factory problem they should recall my warranty expired last month they dont want to fix the issue and i have to spend money and time to fix something they build wrong
Silverado is telling me to shift my truck into Park, when the truck is actually already in Park. This does not allow me to physically turn the ignition off on my truck, forcing me to start and shut off my truck multiple times.
Loud clunking nosies from front of vehicles, loud grinding/creaking. Truck keeps getting misaligned.
The frame of the vehicle has significant rust through. I attempted to go through warranty claim and they denied it and said it was normal. I took it to a body shop who advised that this should not be happening and they recommended a full frame replacement and they advised the rust would spread.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated while responding. The messages "Transmission Hot - Idle Engine" and "Service ESC" were displayed, and the Parking Brake system warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had progressively worsened. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that a fee would be charged for diagnostic test and the repair. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
Recurring blackouts of IOR 7-inch in-dash Infotainment System, ranging from minutes to hours, which render access to vehicle controls, audio/radio, and safety features inoperative, including OnStar, vehicle navigation, backup camera, and other features. Additionally, without warning, radio has unexpected and sudden spikes in maximum volume even when powered down. After repeated repair attempts, Manufacturer has attempted to place blame on incompatible iPhones and non-OEM cables used to connect, but the issues occur even when no cellular telephones are connected through either USB or Bluetooth.
I had to use my brakes hard because someone pulled in front of me. It drove fine for 10 miles afterwards on the interstate. I parked and turned the truck off but when I returned and turned the truck on the dash read ABS , Traction Control, EBS need service or failed as well as 43 miles per hour maximum speed. The power brakes do not work and the truck will not drive more then 43 mph.
