My transmission is always shifting hard and shuddering intermittently and is going in for inspection. Shifting hard could cause a problem for the driver it is very distracting. Yes, independent service center. No. No warning lamps came up and it has been going on just under a year now
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while the transmission was shifted into park(P), the contact turned off the vehicle; however, the instrument panel and radio remained operational. The contact restarted and then turned off the vehicle a second time to correct the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
The contact's boyfriend owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle began to jerk and hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that after a while, the vehicle would shut off while driving at various speeds, with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the camshaft and transmission were replaced. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer on several occasions because the failure persisted. The contact was later informed that there was water damage throughout the vehicle and the contact was informed that the vehicle should have never been sold. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic where it remained unrepaired. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.
Transmission revert to neutral revs over 4000 rpm then slams into gear and takes off then when you come to a stop it feels like another vehicle hit you from nehind
Hello, I am having issues with my 2019 Chevy Silverado's transmission. When I go to drive it, sometimes coming out of first gear I will have hard shifting. The shifting is to intense that I have to let off of the gas, so my truck and idol down. This is a big issue when I am in heavy traffic, with a rick of being hit by other cars traveling faster. I have told my dealership about this multiple times and the last time I talked with them about this. I had them flush my transmission, thinking that would help. After that was done, the service manger told me. The way my transmission is shift is standard GM operation. Sometimes I will have a warning lamp come up. The fault code is "lost communication with transmission".
The seatbelts and airbags did not engage when vehicle was involved in serious accident. Seatbelts we’re on but did not lock up and airbags never deployed. Vehicle is in a body shop in Mexico. Serious spinal and hip injury made worse due to these components mail functioning. Vehicle is still in Mexico while insurance company drags their feet so they don’t have to pay. Vehicle has only been towed and not examined while it just sits there waiting for insurance company to do something. There was a police report made and I’m unaware if insurance folks have looked at vehicle as They won’t talk to us. There were no warning systems prior to incident. Why would a person even think their seatbelts and airbags weren’t going to work??
Front Driver Side tire has tread separation, down to the cord. Manufacturer Date code 1619, mold 418570. One week later was recalled for tread separation, but the dealer told me this is not covered under bumper to bumper warranty as they claim it's from road damage, but it was not. Had to have it replaced.
Today March 25 2022 around 07:20 driving to work, the passenger side stationary panel of a 3 panel sliding window exploded with a loud noise. The window is totally shattered, but stayed in place. Little cubed glass is starting to fall from around the bottom edge. A month ago, I had experienced a crackling arcing sound coming from the defrost on that same panel. I took it into Quirk Chevrolet, Manchester NH to have it looked at. they stopped the arcing and released the vehicle back to me and fixed under "service bulletin". I am finding many other individuals experiencing this same exploding glass issue. There is a bulletin out concerning this particular model and yr truck for sliding glass window defroster overheating issues. I am hearing that the dealer is not addressing this as an issue and not remedying this under warranty. I have only 28500 miles on the truck.
The ball joint for the front left tire broke while driving on a straight road and caused over $2,100 worth of damage to the wheel, axle, brake, etc. I had no warning or anything when this happened. It felt like my tire popped and when I pulled over, the wheel was still attached but was sitting at an awkward angle. The shop quoted me at $2,154 as there were 5 or 6 different parts they needed to repair including the ball joint, axle, brakes, brake sensors, rim, etc.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the warning message "low oil turn off vehicle" had displayed. The vehicle was parked and upon inspection it was discovered that no engine oil was present on the engine oil dipstick and there was an oil leak underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the engine oil cooler line crimp had detached. The vehicle was repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000
The screen for the backup camera is too bright causing the inability to use mirrors at night. I was told at the dealership that they could not touch it.
Noticeable ticking noise started coming form the engine, upon further inspection it was the lifters that was causing the noise. DFM, AFM the truck is out of warranty at 76,000 mi. So i got a second opinion from another shop and got it fixed through them, not the dealer. My shop re surfaced the Heads and went a few steps further than the dealer would have done.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that when her husband started the vehicle, the vehicle began to jerk and hesitate upon depression of the accelerator pedal. The check engine warning light illuminated. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer where a diagnostic test was performed. The vehicle was diagnosed with a defective fuel pump module. The contact was also informed that the parts to repair the vehicle were unavailable. The manufacturer was then notified of the failure and after numerous calls, agreed to pay for her monthly vehicle payment while the vehicle remained at the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
Dashboard and display screen doesn't shut off when key had been removed from the ignition. Constant freezing, call dropping and sound boost at random moments. Ticking sound when barely touching the gas. Hard shifts. Bluetooth connects and disconnects constantly. If GM released a defective vehicle, in which they are aware of the problems should be fixed. Not only for me but for the tons of thousands filing known major problems as well.
On multiple occasions while using an Apple phone that is connected to the vehicle via the USB port. While on a phone call, the call will drop, and the radio will turn up to full volume and will not shut off until the entire vehicle is pulled over and completely powered off. During the most recent event the radio did not shutoff even after vehicle was parked and powered down. It eventually shut off after the autotimer shut down all of the accessories power after the timeout time. The volume blast has happened twice in heavy metro Detroit, rush hour traffic. The volume level is extraordinarily distracting & when on the expressway, its nearly impossible to find a safe or practical place to power down the vehicle to reset the radio. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer to "flash" the radio, however it has not repaired the problem.
I have had several check engine codes on my truck. From what what the dealership tech put in his notes there is a bulletin on this. So, gm recognizes this is an issue. The dealership had to replace several wires on my ECM wiring harness due to damage from rubbing against the harness bracket. I feel that gm should issue a recall to fix the rubbing on the harness and I feel gm should have to replace the whole harness not just the damaged wires. I feel this is a hazard for these vehicles do to being on the internet state. I feel it will cause catastrophic injuries to the occupant as well as other drivers. It's hard to guess what that would cause the truck to do especially since everything is connected to the ECM.
1) Temperature outside 25 degrees F 2) Used Remote Start to warm up the truck 3) Truck ran for 5-8 mins 4) After getting in the truck when I closed the driver side door the full rear window glass completely shattered and blew out. My understanding is that this was an issue in the past as per TSB 14815B and seems to be a known issue that others have experienced as I saw when researching the safety issue on the internet.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The contact jumped the battery and was able to restart the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that while reversing, the brake pedal was depressed but went all the way to the floorboard and hesitated to respond. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred three times. The contact stated that the third time the failure occurred, he jumpstarted the vehicle, and the vehicle restarted; however, the engine seized. The contact stated that the trailer brake warning light and several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact turned off the vehicle and restarted the vehicle and was able to drive the vehicle at slow speeds. The contact charged the battery overnight and was able to start and drive the vehicle the next day. The contact also stated that the Parking brake was electronic and made it impossible to stop the vehicle in the event the battery failed. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 35,800.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that intermittently, while attempting to slow down, while depressing the brake pedal, there was an abnormal pulsation on the brake pedal. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the rotors and brake pads needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 52,000.
Transmission shuttering and rpms surging under normal driving conditions. Shifting hard and shaking the vehicle at highway speeds.
The transmission totally failed on my 2019 Chevy Trail Boss Z71 at 72115 Miles. It failed while on the freeway. I paid to tow it to Atlas Transmission. I paid $4536 cash for a total rebuild. After it was fixed it started to fail again because they used rebuilt GM parts. I Traded the truck in to buy a Dodge Ram.
It’s been draining the battery every couple of days, sometimes the screen won’t turn off it just stays on but black it won’t even play the radio the tailgate won’t open most of the time the dashboard is been over heating it gets extremely hot I tough it was just Texas weather but on winter days was hotter than normal when I put it in park it won’t it keeps beeping and showing a message to put packing on sometimes you can hear a very thin noise coming from the dashboard ..transmission vibrates over 50-60 mph
Driving on state highway and truck felt like it went into neutral. Pulled to side of road and put truck in park. Put truck in gear and nothing happened. Truck would not move from side of the road. Had truck towed to dealership and was told that the transmission was burnt out and had to be replaced. 2019 Chevy Trail Boss with 90k miles and the transmission fails. Unbelievable.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while the vehicle was shifted into park(P), the transmission erroneously jumped into reverse(R). Additionally, while driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle shimmied. The vehicle also unintendedly downshifted. The vehicle failed to accelerate at above 40 MPH. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the torque convertor and drive shaft needed to be replaced. The drive shaft was replaced but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Balise Chevrolet Buick GMC (440 Hall of Fame Ave, Springfield, MA 01105 (413) 233-4668) where it was diagnosed and determined that the tires needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the local dealer and informed provided warranty information. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that on several occasions while shifting into drive, the transmission violently jerked into gear, and the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed, and the contact was advised that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that weeks later, the tailgate failed to lower while depressing the button, and the rear-view camera image remained displayed on the screen while the vehicle was in drive(D) and being driven. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 69,000.
1st Time I was idling for 30+ minutes, truck was also making strange knocking noises, pulled on to a major highway and rear end locked up, cars were slamming on brakes, almost got killed. Took to shop left for 2 weeks, they said they could find no issues. I assumed they fixed problem, because there was no knocking any more. 3 weeks later, was idling for about 45minutes, pulled into traffic, dark, raining, rear en locked up. Almost got killed a second time. Took in for service and left truck. This needs to be investigated before someone gets killed!
The transmission don’t respond good
Engine failed and had to be replaced because of bearing failure
When I shift the vehicle to “Park” and shut off the engine, a “Shift to Park” message comes on the dash and the electric components won’t turn off and the vehicle chimes until it will randomly stop. Sometimes it does not stop and will drain the battery completely. This happened once at a wedding venue in the middle of nowhere and I was left stranded. No matter how many times I restart the vehicle and shift to different gears, the message continuously comes up and only way to avoid battery draining is to disconnect it, which is a major inconvenience.
6L80E 6 speed transmission. Vehicle slips at low speeds, under light acceleration. Sometimes when it shifts, its very hard and jerky. If this is normal designed operation, the transmission or programming needs to be redesigned.
Chirping sound coming left axle, also the transmission shifts hard and shutters down shifts hard up shifts when I put into drive it goes in hard at idle as of Monday November 22,2021 found puddle of transmission fluid on driveway, transmission is sealed can not check.told service tech about the transmission told me it was normal tired of dealing with service techs that lie to customers and that they know more than customers maybe some but not all some customer know more than they do, been building cars since I was 16, hot Rodder from way back.also have 2013 Buick LaCrosse 83,000 miles it has its 4th set of tires!!!? Came with Mitchlem tires lasted a little over 30,000 miles this is due to lack of maintenance, balance and rotation from the dealer
Was Driving the truck when I got a Service Power steering and Service ESC and steering wheel turned hard had no steering assist while driving on the freeway was about to hit a curve when this happened had to stop completely since I couldn’t move the steering wheel! Took it to the dealer and they said it’s something they don’t cover so now they are trying to make me pay for something I have no clue about
Truck has excessive shuddering accelerating or decelerating. According to the service person at the dealer it is a problem with moisture and the factory fluid that the truck came with. Diagnostics showed excessive TCC Slippage which requires and upgraded transmission fluid. The TCM was also reprogrammed with the latest calibrations. Total cost $654.30.
In November of 2021, There was a water leak found inside the truck, on the passenger side rear cab. Chevy repaired in accordance with GM bulletin # 18-na-383. After six month, leak came back. They replaced the rear window, in accordance with GM bulletin # 18-na-383. All work was done under warranty. Now after a month since last repair, the leak is back and worse then it was. Returned to Chevy dealer and they want to replace both parts again. This time not under warranty. Further research of the internet, yielded thousands of people over many years having the same issue.
All my cameras go off and a blue screen comes up weather I’m parking or when I’m near another car. I can’t tell when Of there’s anything in front or behind me certain times and the parking alert comes up but cameras stay off.
Engine seized on 2 separate occasions and was reported to have repairs before we purchased also. Chevrolet took the truck both times, the first attempted repair claimed lifter issues. The second repair they replaced the engine.
I HAVE HAD 2 TIMES THAT THE TRANSMISSION ON MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED OR REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION IS NOW NOT OPERABLE. MY TRUCK IS A 2019 CHEVROLET Silverado 1500 CREW CAB. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME WITH THIS TRANSMISSION. I NEED THIS PROBLEM INVESTIGATED.
When pulling off or slowing down, there's hesitation, jerking, and kicking or slamming going in or out of gear. Was passing a vehicle one day and it started going, then lost acceleration. I put it to the floor, still no acceleration. My Abs/Traction light came on, the rear end started like bouncing, or something with traction. As I pulled over, the abs/traction light went off. A few times we complained about it, they looked at it, but said they couldn't find nothing wrong with it. It's still happening and it is dangerous. I have a 17 yr old Autistic son, I drive him everyday to school, almost 4 hrs a day. We bought the truck cause we needed something reliable. But now that our warranty is up we can't afford to get it fixed. They made sure to let us know about our warranty was out. But at the time they looked at it, we had warranty. But when it came to get it looked at it would take days, and we needed a rental but they never had one, so we would have to wait till they had an opening. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH, THE REAR TIRES AND BRAKES SEIZED WITH A MESSAGE NOT TO EXCEEDED 60 MPH WAS DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND BACK INTO DRIVE MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE VEHICLE TO RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS Chevrolet Buick GMC of Puyallup 800 RIVER RD PUYALLUP WA 98371-4149 US TO BE DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. WHILE CONDUCTING A VIN SEARCH, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V889000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL) HOWEVER, THE VIN [XXX]. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
Event in Order: -AutoStart, failure -Started with key -“Action Required” - “Steering Assist Is Reduced, Drive with Care” -“Service” - “Trailer Brake System” -“dash panel information” not available – Fuel Economy and oil life -“Traction Control light on” -Put truck in reverse, gear not engaged, no response -Put truck in drive, worked, but steering very difficult and made vehicle not safe to drive and/or operate. This has happened to me once before but not to this extent, last was when I was driving and thankfully I was able to pull over and turn the vehicle off. It would not start after repeated attempts but finally started after and functioned normally. These events had not check engine lights and when serviced, the mechanics said they didn’t see anything when scanned. OnStar diagnostics had no report when I had it active. I bought this truck less than 18,000 miles ago. Initially bought at 17,181 miles on Feb 22, 2021 and is now at 34,675 miles as of Oct 29, 2021. This is a safety concern as the steering fail can potentially lead to an accident if the truck can’t be controlled. Traction control failure can lead to the vehicle becoming stalled in a dangerous situation. Brake systems can lead to unwanted breaking and/or being unable to break. This truck is a danger to operate. I do have video but, upload does not support MP4 format.
We bought the truck on 09-30-2021 with 24992 miles on it , brakes are all 4 horrible, no pads left and all 4 rotors are shot . This is a problem with this truck from the reports of this vehicle having premature brake wear from the Customer Satisfaction Program . It is sitting at the repair shop as we speak with almost $1000 in brake repair that needs to be done . This is very unsafe . Please let me know what I need to do to be reimbursed . There has been prior recalls on this truck also for brakes
The Truck is having random BRAKE FAILURE to the degree that it will not STOP and the dash lights - up with several warnings ie; ABS , Traction Control , Speed Limited . Took the vehicle in to the local dealer and they looked at it , charged $140.00 to tell us that it needs a $2000.00 Brake Master Cylinder assembly. I am aware that this truck has had multiple BRAKE issues that G.M. was aware of and dealers have thrown many different things at it to try to correct the issue from Software Update [s] , the first one caused more issues , to replacing the Master Cylinder Assembly under warranty because of glitches ! It is not right for G.M. to ask the owner of a vehicle with KNOWN SERIOUS BRAKE ISSUES to pay for the unit to be repaired. This has been going on for the last 13-15 months !!!
VEHICLES REAR WHEELS LOCK UP AT 7 MPH. CONTINUALLY. HAD TO TOW TO DEALERSHIP. THEY REPLACED THE TCM AND THE TCCM. KNEW ONLY BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE TOLD ME THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH CHEVY'S. HAPPENED AT 36,090 MILES. WOULDN'T YOU KNOW. NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTIES.
Transmission, chunks, shutters, took in to gm dealership and they could not find issue 30,000 miles, continued same problem 71,000 miles now needs Transmission replaced.
Same issue I had with my 2017 Colorado. Shutter/shake when accelerating between 1 & 2. Issue started around 64k miles. Thought maybe it needed the same transmission flush to the newer fluid. Dealer called after 4 days of holding my vehicle (with no loaner or rental option) to tell me that the trans needed an "update" and that it would cost me over $500 since I was over warranty at 67k. There's already a bulletin for the Camshaft Position Actuator Magnet Replacement, which supposedly memics the same issue. However the dealership says "that's not the problem". I'm sure the same trans issue with hard gear shifts is probably related to this issue now. I haven't felt the hard gear shift in a while but it would do it randomly when accelarating out of my driveway.
Not really a safety concern but the backup camera worked for about a year, then got foggy during wet weather and completely useless in winter here in Anchorage, it was still foggy the following summer and then it went completely off and the following message appeared on the screen: service rear vision system. Of course it’s out of warranty now. I just think they should last more than a year or two in fact I’m still paying for my truck and a good feature that is really unimpressive. Thanks for your time.
ABS Brake Assist Module failed. Warning lights and indicators alerted the problem and the vehicle lost power assist braking. I was able to drive the vehicle to the local dealership as the warning message on the dash indicated the vehicle could not exceed 40 MPH with manual braking. Service tech diagnosed the module had failed, stated they are beginning to see this issue in more and more 2019 vehicles.
Service Trailer Brake System - warning code is displayed every time the vehicle is started and must be dismissed. This does not allow for safe towing and braking. Social media has displayed numerous other Chevy Trucks with this problem and have stated "cheap wire harness." This needs to be replaced by the manufacture for using cheap materials.
My Truck has less than 35,000 miles and I've had Transmission issues. I've taken it to the Dealership and they don't have an answer to the problem other than changing the transmission fluid as that has resolved issues on other trucks. When I took it in, I would shift it out of park to drive it jerks, when I shift from drive to reverse, it jerks, when I shift from reverse back to drive it jerks. When I'm slowing down at a stop sign or stop light it shifts weird. I've been getting on a busy highway and accelerated and it downshifted so hard and kind of stalled, I swear took it at least 5 seconds to catch up and gain speed. I don't want to be on the HWY and my truck stall because no one knows what's going on or how to fix it.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the power steering and brakes failed to operate as needed. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and continued driving; however, the failure persisted. During the failure, the power steering, brakes, and coolant sensors all failed to operate simultaneously. The contact inspected the vehicle and became aware that the braided ground strap to the sub frame was corroded and needed to be replaced. The contact replaced the ground strap twice. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who also determined that the ground strap was corroded and needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the part once, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
