THE REAR WINDOW LIFT HINGE ATTACHED TO THE GLASS TO THE TAILGATE IS DEFECTIVE. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS HINGE ONLINE, I LOCATED SEVERAL WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS COULD CAUSE SEVERAL PROBLEMS IF THE GLASS WERE TO SEPARATE DURING TRAVEL AND SHOULD BE A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR CHEVROLET. THE ESTIMATED REPAIR COST IS $1,300.00 FOR A DEFECTIVE PART THAT WILL JUST RE-OCCUR WITH IN A FEW YEARS AS SOME OF THE COMPLAINANTS OBSERVED ONLINE BY NEW OWNERS OF 2 YEARS. THIS PART IS DEFECTIVE AND NOT DUE TO NORMAL WEAR AND TARE. *TR
TRUNK WILL NOT OPEN. LOCKS AUTOMATICALLY WHILE DRIVING THEN WILL NOT UNLOCK. THERE IS NO MANUAL WAY TO OPEN THE TRUNK, HENCE NO ESCAPE IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. *TR
INCIDENTS REGARDING TIRES AND/OR FRAME ISSUES NOT SURE. *NM
I OWN A 2004 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE RIGHT HINGE FOR THE LIFTGATE WINDOW HAS CRACKED AND THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT WHEN DRIVING, THE WINDOW COULD FALL OFF IF WIND GETS WITHIN THE WINDOW AND THE HINGES. GM IS IGNORING ANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE ALL OVER THE INTERNET. *TR
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
