THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (LYNCH CHEVROLET-CADILLAC OF AUBURN, 154 W CREEK PKWY, AUBURN, AL 36830) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LEFT IMPACT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT SURE IF THE IMPACT SENSOR APPLIED TO THE PASSENGER OR DRIVER'S SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. YESTERDAY, WHILE AT A FUEL STATION, THE SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS) ON MAY 27, 2016. THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. ENGINE IS MALFUNCTIONING AND USING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL (1 QUART EVERY 1-2 WEEKS). THE MANUFACTURER BUILT BAD MOTORS IN 2007 AND KNOWINGLY COVERED IT UP. THE VEHICLES WERE STILL SOLD TO CONSUMERS AND RATHER THAN FIXING THE ISSUE (ENGINE WOULD HAVE TO BE REBUILT OR REPLACED) THE MANUFACTURER IS PLACING ALL RESPONSIBILITY AND COST ($9,000 FIX) ON THE CONSUMER, EVEN WHEN REPORTED BEFORE 100,000 MILES. THE MANUFACTURER KNOWINGLY SOLD LEMON VEHICLES AND REFUSES TO FIX.

WE HAVE A 2007 SUBURBAN WITH THE 5.3L ENGINE. AFTER, MUCH RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET, MY WIFE AND I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE EVIDENTLY IS A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE AFM LIFTERS. OUR VEHICLE DOES HAVE MILES, BUT SINCE THIS EVIDENTLY IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM, WE DID THINK CHEVROLET WOULD AT LEAST OFFER SOME ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIR. A LIFTER COLLAPSED AND THE COST TO REPLACE THE LIFTERS IS $3,500.00, PLUS TAX AT TOM GILL CHEVROLET IN FLORENCE, KY. I DON'T BLAME THE DEALER FOR THIS, BUT CHEVROLET HAS REALLY DROPPED THE BALL ON THIS ISSUE FOR MANY, MANY VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ISSUE. SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE TO BETTER PROTECT THE CONSUMER.
DASH COVER. FIRST OFF THE DASH IS CRACKING LIKE SO MANY OTHERS. THE PIECES ARE GETTING SHARP AS IT IS THICK PLASTIC. I CUT MY HAND ON IT JUST DUSTING IT. THE PARTS THAT ARE CRACKED ARE RIGHT ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CRACKS HAVE GROWN THE WIDTH OF THE COVER. THESE CRACKS OCCUR FREQUENTLY IN MOTION OR NOT IN MOTION. I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS THE HEAT AND BUMPS BUT IT SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS IF THE AIRBAGS GO OFF THOSE PIECES OF THE DASH COULD FLY AND BREAK OFF LIKE NOTHING AND HURT SOMEONE EVEN WORSE IN THAT TYPE OF SITUATION. HAND GOT CUT FROM INSIDE DOOR HANDLE PEELING OFF
TAKATA RECALL - RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE JULY 2016 AND HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING YET
(1)TAKATA RECALL (2) DASH BOARD CRACKED AT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND BY PASSENGER AIRBAG. PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN THIS CONDITION. WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT IS A COMMON ISSUE FOR THIS YEAR/MODEL CHEVROLET AND WOULD HAVE TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM WITH A GM DEALER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE AIR CONDITIONER BECAME INOPERABLE WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FAILURE COULD CAUSE A FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HALL CHEVROLET CHESAPEAKE (3412 WESTERN BRANCH BLVD, CHESAPEAKE, VA (877) 475-0719) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOTOR BLOWER OVERHEATED AND BURNED, AND THE WIRE HARNESS RUINED THE CONTROL MODULE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTROL MODULE, BLOWER MOTOR, AND WIRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,200.
DASHBOARD CRACKED AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AS WELL AS OTHER LOCATIONS ON THE DASH. THE CONCERN IS THAT THE AIRBAG INFLATION WILL BE IMPEDED BY THE CRACKING DASHBOARD. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE CRACK OCCURRED.

OUR CAR HAS 86,500K MILES AND IS GARAGED. WE HAVE TWO CRACKS IN THE DASH BOARD. ONE IS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BY AIR BAG AND THE OTHER IS ON THE DRIVER SIDE OVER INSTRUMENT PANEL. MY CONCERN IS IF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG DEPLOYS IN AN ACCIDENT IT WILL BE COMPROMISED BY THE CRACK IN THE DASH BOARD LEAVING THE PASSENGER UNPROTECTED FROM THE AIRBAG. THE LATEST CRACK OCCURRED JUST THIS PAST WEEK. MY CAR WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND I HEARD THE CRACK OCCUR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. UPON LOOKING AT THE DASHBOARD I NOTICED THE DRIVER SIDE CRACK. THIS CAN'T BE NORMAL AND IF IT IS THERE IS A SERIOUS FLAW IN THE DESIGN. PLEASE ADVISE.
SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON
THE DASHBOARD ON MY VEHICLE IS CRACKING. THIS IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE IF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY THE DASH MAY BREAK COMPLETELY AND SHARDS OF PLASTIC MAY HURT MY FAMILY.

TAKATA RECALL-NOTIFIED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO KNOWN TIME FRAME FOR REPLACEMENTS. THAT WAS ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I STARTED HEARING TICKING NOISE FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE STABLIZING LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. I SHUT OFF THE SUBURBAN AND WENT TO LOOK UNDER THE HOOD. STARTED IT BACK UP AND WENT BACK TO LISTEN AGAIN, STILL THE SAME TICKING. CHEVY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THERE BAD AFM WHICH IS CAUSING THIS ISSUE.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND WIRES WERE EXPOSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POTENTIAL FIRE OCCURRED DUE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V240000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE REPAIRED AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
MY VEHICLE WAS HAVING TROUBLE STARTING AND IDLING ROUGH. I BROUGHT IT IN FOR REPAIRS AND WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A NEW FUEL PUMP AND AIR FILTER. I HAD THOSE CHANGED IN TOTAL SPENDING $1700. THREE DAYS LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING IN MY CAR. I COULD FEEL THE ENGINE MISFIRING AND WAS LOSING POWER. THE OIL PRESSURE WAS FLUCTUATING RAPIDLY. I DROVE IT BACK TO MY HOME AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THAT THE CYLINDER 4 WAS MISFIRING CAUSED BY THE CYLINDER DEACTIVATION FAILURE WHICH IS CAUSED BY THE AUTOMATIC FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. THIS IS CAUSING THE LIFTER TO FAIL.
DASHBROAD CRACKED PIECES IS SHARPE AND DANGEROUS
THE FIRST ISSUE WAS THE DASHBOARD CRAKING IN NUMEROUS SPOTS AND CHEVY DID FINALY REPLACE THE ENTIRE DASH. THE NEXT ISSUE WAS THE PAINT ON THE "WHITE EXTERIOR" BEGAIN CHIPPING OFF IN LARGE 4-7 INCH PARTS ALL OVER THE SUV. THE DEALER FORCED ME TO PAY HALF OR THE PARTIAL REPAINT .1000. :( TAKATA RECALL IS THE LATEST. I WONDER HOW AMERICA CAN BE GREAT AGAIN WITH THIS LEVEL OF QUALITY. SO SAD.

TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED MY RECALL NOTICE IN JULY 2016. I CALLED CHEVROLET CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE TODAY, 11/29/16 FOR AN UPDATE & THEY BASICALLY HAD NO NEW INFORMATION OR PARTS AVAILABILITY. WHEN CAN I REASONABLY EXPECT MORE INFORMATION RELATED TO THIS RECALL AND OR PARTS AVAILABILITY?
DASH BOARD CRACKED SEVERELY, PASSENGER AIRBAG IS PROBABLY AFFECTED. IF AIRBAG WENT OFF PRICES OF DASH OR SOMETHING MIGHT BE FLOWN WITH IT.
TAKATA INFLATORS ... STILL NO REPAIR INFO. ALSO, AS NOTED IN MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS, MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG/DASH COVER HAS A HUGE CRACK ALL THE WAY ACROSS. NEEDS TO BE FIXED. ALSO - WE HAVE ELECTRICAL ISSUE AFTER ELECTRICAL ISSUE. WHEN WILL THEY ADDRESS THESE ISSUES?
TAKATA RECALL: IT'S BEEN OVER 9 MONTHS SINCE I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE REGARDING MY SUBURBAN. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL CALLS AND STILL NO FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. I HAVE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE EMISSION SENSOR CAUSED BY GAS TANK CAP. THIS APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM FOR ALL SUBURBANS. I ALSO EXPERIENCED A LOSS IN POWER WITH THIS VEHICLE WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. THE STABILITRQCK LIGHT CAME ON AND I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY EXIT THE HIGHWAY. COULD HAVE BEEN A SEVERE ACCIDENT IF INWAS NOT NEAR AN EXIT.

WAS ADVISED OF RECALL ON DEFECTIVE AIR BAG INFLATOR AND WHEN I CALLED THEY SAID THAT SINCE NO ONE HAD BEEN KILLED IN A CHEVROLET SUBURBAN, THAT MY CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. WHEN I NOTED THAT THE OTHER VEHICLES IN WHICH FOLKS WERE INJURED OR DIED WERE DEAMED SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL THEY KILLED SOMEONE, THE SIMPLY REPEATED THE STATEMENT THAT MY VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE.

THE DASHBOARD AROUND THE AIRBAG HAS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES. THIS IS ALARMING AS THE INTEGRITY OF THE DASH/ AIR BAG IS NOW AT RISK. SHOULD THESES AIRBAGS DEPLOY I AM AFRAID THE PLASTIC WILL HIT MYSELF OR WORSE MY WIFE AND FAMILY.
