TRUCK BURNS AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF ENGINE OIL. I HAVE TO ADD A QUART ABOUT EVERY 800-1000 MILES. I KNOW THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND A MANUFACTURER ERROR WITH THE ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT CONTROL.
THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY DASH AT THE PASS. AIR BAG CRACKED ABOUT TWO INCHES WELL DRIVING DOWN I 95. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD DEVELOPED MULTIPLE CRACKS EXTENDING FROM THE CORNER WHERE THE AIR BAG WAS POSITIONED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
PASSENGER SIDE DASH CRACKED ADJACENT TO AIRBAG, VERY CONCERNED ABOUT INTEGRITY OF AIRBAG SYSTEM AND POSSIBLE SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
MY 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE HAS MULTIPLE CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND AIRBAG. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WITH PIECES BRAKING OFF IF THE AIRBAGS WERE TO GO OFF IN A ACCIDENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE CONTACT BLACKED OUT AND CRASHED INTO THE GUARDRAIL. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. ON ANOTHER OCCASIONS, WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN AT 15 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WERE TWO LARGE CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD AND A THIRD CRACK DEVELOPED AS A RESULT OF THE FIRST CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER HOWEVER, THE DIAGNOSIS WAS UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AFTER BOTH FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
DRIVER SEAT BELT NOT LOCKING
TAKATA RECALL. ALSO, THE DASH OF THE TAHOE IS CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES AND SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY HAZARD IF THE AIR BAGS WERE TO BE DEPLOYED. AFTER RESEARCH, IT SEEMS AS IF THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON THIS MODEL. I HAVE CALLED AND EMAILED GM ABOUT MY ISSUE, BUT HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY TYPE OF RESPONSE REGARDING THE DASH.
I WAS TURNING ONTO THE STREET WHERE MY RESIDENCE IS LOCATED, MAKING A RIGHT TURN (PASSENGER SIDE), AND I HEARD A VERY LOUD "POP" ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE INTERIOR. UPON PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY, I ACTIVATED THE INTERIOR LIGHTS OF THE VEHICLE FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. I DISCOVERED MY DASH CRACKED FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DOWN INTO THE FRONT DEFOGGER VENT. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND IT SEEMS THAT IT IS QUITE WIDESPREAD. *TR
CAR HAS CRACKS IN DASHBOARD WITH LOOSE PIECES OF PLASTIC AROUND AIRBAG. WORRIED THAT IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS, PIECES OF SHARP PLASTIC COULD INJURE SOMEONE. *JS
THERE ARE TWO CRACKS IN MY DASHBOARD AROUND THE AIRBAG AREAS. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN! WONDERING IF IT WILL AFFECT MY AIRBAGS FROM WORKING PROPERLY. *TR
I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN AN ALARM I HAD NEVER HEARD BEFORE STARTED GOING OFF IN MY CAR AND I COULDN'T MOVE MY STEERING WHEEL CAUSING ME TO HIT A HANDICAPPED PARKING SIGN/POLE IN THE PARKING SPACE NEXT TO THE ONE I WAS TRYING TO BACK OUT OF. I COULDN'T GET MY WHEEL TO TURN TO GET IT OFF THE SIGN AND I THOUGHT FOR SURE THE WHOLE LEFT SIDE OF MY FENDER WOULD BE DEMOLISHED. WHEN I EXITED MY VEHICLE, IT ONLY TORE THE PAINT OFF THE FENDER AND A SMALL DENT, IT IS BARELY NOTICEABLE, BUT I WAS HARDLY GOING ANY SPEED AT ALL SINCE I WAS BACKING OUT. IT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE. *TR
IGNITION SWITCH TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING AND CAR IS MOVING OVER BUMPS ON THE ROAD
DASHBOARD CRACKING. NOTICE LITTLE CRACK ON 2013 BUT ON 2016 NOTICE MORE CRACKS. HEAR ON THE NEWS THAT CHEVROLET HAS A PROBLEM WITH DASHBOARD CRACKING AND TRY TO CONTAC THEM BUT THEY REFUSING TO FIX THEIR PROBLEM BECAUSE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. IT MAY A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE AIR BAG IS AROUND DASHBOARD. I JUST UPLOAD 1 PICTURE BUT THERE IS MORE CRACKS.
I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK, DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE "STABILITRAK OFF", "TRACTION CONTROL OFF", ABS LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALL CAME ON, SIMULTANEOUSLY. MY SPEEDOMETER AND OTHER GAUGES STARTED SWINGING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT AND THEN FLATLINED, MY POWER LOCKS, "LOCKED AND UNLOCKED" . WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED, THE WHOLE TAHOE JERKED. WHEN I ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION I ATTEMPTED TO RE START THE CAR AND IT WONT START. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD DETACHED NEAR THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG HOUSING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
MY DASH HAS CRACKED IN 2 SPOTS, IT IS OBVIOUS THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THAT THE ONE CRACK THAT LEADS TO THE AIR BAG COVER...THAT COULD POTENTIALLY OPEN HITTING MY SON IN THE FACE CAUSING BODILY HARM. WHEN I SPOKE TO THE DEALERSHIP (BRYAN CHEVROLET) FOR REPLACEMENT...I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY MY WARRANTY. HOWEVER, IF I WANTED REPLACED IT WOULD BE EXPENSIVE ($1000.00). BOTTOM LINE, I GOT NOWHERE WITH THEM, NOW THAT ONE CRACK HAS GROWN TO TWO CRACKS...AND THE OTHER CRACK IS ON THE LEFT CORNER OF THE DASH ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. I FIND IT APPALLING THAT SO MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN LODGED ON VARIOUS WEBSITES AND STILL GM REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND MUCH LESS REPLACE ALL THESE DEFECTIVE DASHBOARDS. I AGREE THAT THERE SHOULD BE A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT FILED TO MAKE ALL AFFECTED PARTIES WHOLE IN A RETROACTIVE MANNER. THE GROSS AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS CLEARLY INDICATE THAT HIS NOT A FRIVOLOUS COMPLAINT AND GM SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. *TR

MY INTERIOR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE HAS CHROME PEELING OFF AND IT SLICED MY FINGER WHILE CLOSING DOOR. I HAVE READ THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO LOTS OF OTHER PEOPLE AND WANTED TO REPORT IT. TERRIBLE DESIGN. *TR
WHILE VEHICLE WAS SITTING STILL NOT RUNNING, NOT IN USE. VEHICLE WAS SETTING IN MY DRIVEWAY, WEATHER WAS AROUND 45-50 DEGREES AND THE DASH CRACKED IN 3 SPOTS, 2 SPACES ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND ONE OVER THE AIR BAG AREA., I HAVE DID EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ON INTERNET AND VERIFIED THAT THERE IS SEVERAL CASES OF THIS HAPPENING IN THIS PARTICULER MAKE/MODEL AND YEAR OF VEHICLE. IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT THE MATERIAL FROM THE DASH CRACKING COULD CAUSE CUTS/OR EXTENSIVE WOUNDS BY PRODUCING FLYING DEBIS FROM THE AIR BAG GOING OFF SINCE THE DASH IS CRACKING OVER THE AIR BAGS. I HAVE CONTACTED GM/CHEVROLET AND HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED PER THEIR REQUEST, THEY DIDN'T ADMIT THERE WASN'T A MANUFACTURING FLAW BUT THEY DENIED REPAIRING THE VEHICLE STATING THAT I WASN'T THE ORIGINAL OWNER EVEN THOUGH I BOUGHT GM DEALRESHIP. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED VERIFIED THE CRACKS IN THE DASH AND THEY WERE VERY LARGE. *TR
SO FAR, 3 OF THE 4 EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES HAVE BROKEN FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THESE ARE CHEAPLY MADE PLASTIC, NOT DESIGNED TO HANDLE THE FORCE OF SIMPLY OPENING A DOOR. THIS CAR IS OTHERWISE IN GREAT CONDITION, HAS VERY LOW MILEAGE, AND IS USUALLY ONLY DRIVEN WITH ONE OCCUPANT. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOORS HAVE NOT BEEN OPENED VERY OFTEN FOR A CAR WITH MILEAGE IN THE LOW 40'S. THIS WOULD BE DANGEROUS TO SMALL CHILDREN OR PEOPLE WITH THIN FINGERS AS IT WOULD BE QUITE EASY TO GET A FINGER CAUGHT BETWEEN THE BROKEN DOOR HANDLE AND THE BODY OF THE CAR. THE HANDLES DO NOT LOOK BROKEN. THE ACT OF OPENING THE DOOR CAUSES THE HANDLE TO PULL AWAY FROM THE BODY OF THE DOOR. A QUICK INTERNET SEARCH REVEALS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. A DEALER TOLD ME TODAY THAT THEY REPLACED 8 HANDLES FOR 1 CUSTOMER. THAT'S AT A PRICE BETWEEN $250 AND $300 PER HANDLE. I WAS GOING TO BEGIN LOOKING FOR A NEW CAR TODAY. IF THIS IS HOW CHEVROLET STANDS BEHIND IT'S VEHICLES, THEY WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN MY SEARCH. *TR
STABILITRAK LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON CAUSING THE TAHOE TO JERK. *TR
THE DASH IS CRACKING ALL OVER AND IT STARTED AT 70,000 MILES. THE DEEP CONCERN THAT WE HAVE IS IN AN ACCIDENT THAT PIECES OF PLASTIC WILL FLY AS THE AIRBAGS ARE DEPLOYED. THAT CAN PERMANENTLY INJUR EYES OR CUT BODY PARTS . THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND THEY SHOULD RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS PERMANENTLY INJURED. LOOK ON FACEBOOK THEIR IS A GROUP OF OVER 3,000 PEOPLE WITH SAME PROBLEM. 07-13 GM CRACKED DASH SAFETY HAZARD FOR ALL TRUCKS.
VEHICLE #1 (MY 2007 TAHOE LT3) WAS TRAVELING NORTH ON HWY 278 IN POWDER SPRINGS, GA. VEHICLE 2 (TOYOTA 4RUNNER) WAS TRAVELING SOUTH. VEHICLE 2 CROSSED CENTER LINE AND WENT INTO A SPIN CRASHING INTO THE DOOR AND RIGHT FRONT WHEEL AND FENDER WHICH PROPELLED/LAUNCHED MY 2007 TAHOE ACROSS ONE LANE OF TRAFFIC INTO THE GUARD RAIL STRIKING THE GUARD RAIL WITH MY PASSENGER FRONT FENDER AND BUMPER. MY TAHOE WAS TOTALED BY INSURANCE. ONSTAR WHICH I HAVE PAID FOR SINCE 2007 DID NOT REGISTER THE CRASH AND MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I SUFFERED SEVERE WHIPLASH FROM BEING HIT IN THE DRIVER SIDE THEN AN SECOND IMPACT AS I HIT THE GUARD RAIL. MY SEAT BELTS PROTECTED ME FROM THE DRIVER SIDE IMPACT; HOWEVER, BECAUSE MY RIGHT SHOULDER AND SIDE OF MY BODY THROWN ACROSS THE TAHOE CONSOLE FOR THE IMPACT OF THE GUARD RAIL, I SUFFERED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY BODY AS WELL. THE LEFT IMPACT AND THEN THE RIGHT SIDE IMPACT CAUSED SEVERE WHIPLASH AND ENSUING HEADACHES. *TR
DASH CRACKED WHERE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS LOCATED. I FEAR THAT THE AIR BAGS WILL PUNCTURE IF DEPLOYED OR THE PASSENGER WIL BE INJURED DUE TO DASH PIECES BEING PROJECTED AT THEM. *TR
I GOT INTO MY CAR AT 1PM AND FOUND A CRACK ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND ANOTHER WHERE THE AIRBAG SHOULD DEPLOY ON THE DASHBOARD. *TR
AT 90,000 MILES, ALL OF MY REAR BEARINGS WERE BAD AND HAD TO HAVE THEM REPLACED, BASICALLY A WHOLE NEW REAR END. LUCKILY IT WAS COVERED UNDER THE 100,000 MILE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. I HAVE ONLY TOWED A TRAILER TWICE WITH MY TAHOE, SO OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT SOMEWHERE. SECOND ISSUE IS THAT THERE ARE 2 CRACKS ON THE DASHBOARD; ONE IN THE AREA OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG, AND THE OTHER ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE DRIVERS SIDE STEERING COLUMN. THESE BOTH OCCURRED ABOUT THE SAME TIME, AROUND 100,000 MILES. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE. GM NEEDS TO BE REPLACING THESE DASHBOARDS ON THEIR DIME AND NOT EXPECTING THE CUSTOMER TO FOOT THE BILL FOR THIS DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. IT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. SHOULD THE AIRBAG SYSTEM HAVE TO DEPLOY, PIECES OF PLASTIC WOULD BECOME PROJECTILES THAT WOULD HARM ANYONE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE THIRD ISSUE I HAVE, THAT BEGAN TODAY AT 109,000 MILES, ARE INVOLVING THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE SPEEDOMETER DID NOT WORK, THE LIGHT THAT INDICATES WHICH GEAR YOU ARE IN DID NOT COME ON, AND THE SEAT BELT LIGHT AND AIR BAG LIGHT WERE ON EVEN THOUGH I WAS WEARING MY SEAT BELT. I'M NOT SURE WHAT IS CAUSING THIS, AND I'M HOPING IT IS JUST A BAD FUSE. I AM SO DICOURAGED WITH MY TAHOE LATELY. ALL OF THESE LITTLE THINGS GOING WRONG HAVE REALLY MADE ME LEARY OF BUYING ANOTHER GM PRODUCT, AND I'VE BEEN EXCITED ABOUT THE 2015 REDESIGN. NOT SO MUCH NOW. *TR

DOOR HANDLES BROKE AWAY. CHROME DOOR HANDLES ON PASSENGER SIDE (SO FAR) HAVE BROKEN, BOTH WITH THE FORWARD ATTACHMENT (SCREW). CHEVROLET HAS A TSI ON THIS. *TR
I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY DURING A COLLISION OR AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT FROM SHARP PLASTIC EXPOSED DUE TO THE CRACKS IN THE DASH CUTTING THE AIRBAG OR SHARDS OF PLASTIC BECOMING PROJECTILES POTENTIALLY CAUSING INJURY TO OCCUPANTS. THE DASH IN THE TRUCK CRACKED OUT OF NO WHERE AND IS VERY POORLY MADE. THIS SHOULD BE REPLACED ASAP BY AUTOMAKER. *TR
EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES BREAK OFF; HAVE REPLACED DRIVER SIDE REAR (JAN 2014) AND PASSENGER SIDE FRONT (FEB 2014). APPEARS THAT THE PLASTIC CASING AROUND THE SCREW, WHICH MOUNTS THE HANDLE TO THE DOOR, CRACKS AND BREAKS. COST TO REPAIR IS ABOUT $150 EACH TIME (DOOR PANEL MUST BE REMOVED TO REPLACE). NOTE - BOUGHT TAHOE USED JULY 2013. DEALER WHERE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR REPAIR STATED THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM THEY SEE WITH THIS VEHICLE. *TR
DASH IS CRACKED IN 3 PLACES AS OF TODAY 9/30/14 AND ONE PLACE IS NEXT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. *TR
1. LIFT GATE FAILED AND HURT MY ARM ON OR ABOUT JAN 1 2014. I NEED REPAIRED ASAP! 2. DASHBOARD CRACKED ABOVE STEERING COLUMN AND CRACKED BY AIR BAG PASSENGER SIDE. I NEED REPAIRED ASAP. GM REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THOUSANDS OF CONSUMERS HAVING THE SAME EFFECTS TO THEIR DASHBOARD. 3. TIMING CHAIN WENT OFF TIME AND BENT A CYLINDER WHICH CAUSED SERIOUS DAMAGE 9/2014 COST OF DAMAGES AT APPROXIMATE 4500.00 GM REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE DEFICIENCIES. I PAID OUT OF POCKET THE 4500.00 WITH NO ASSISTANCE. I ALSO PAID 250.00 FOR ESTIMATES AT THE GM DEALER IN KINGSTON MASS. THEY REFUSED TO HELP AND GIVE ASSISTANCE ON ANY OF THESE 3 MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEMS AFTER SUBMITTING THE DEALER BONA FIDE REPORT.
I PURCHASED MY 2007 TAHOE TO BE THE LAST CAR I WOULD NEED TO BUY AS I AM NEAR RETIREMENT. I AM VERY WORRIED NOW THAT IT WILL NEED SOME MAJOR REPAIRS TO CORRECT THE OIL CONSUMPTION. CHEVROLET SHOULD COVER THESE REPAIRS AS IT IS OBVIOUS THERE IS A DESIGN PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE AND THOUSANDS OF USERS HAVE THIS PROBLEM. FOR THE ENORMOUS COST OF THE VEHICLE I EXPECTED BETTER. I SHOULD HAVE KEPT MY OLD 1998 TAHOE. IT PROBABLY WOULD STILL BE RUNNING AND WOULDNT NEED OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES.
THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ABOVE THE AIRBAG. I NOTICED THIS DEFECT APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS AGO. I KEEP IT IN THE GARAGE MOST OF THE TIME, OUT OF THE SUN.
WHEN YOU ENGAGE THE REAR AUTO LIFT GATE (LTZ) THE DOOR GOES 3/4 THE WAY UP AND THEN BEGINS TO CLOSE ON YOU LITERALLY TRAPING YOU BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE REAR OPENING. AT FIRST IT WOULD HAPPEN EVER SO OFTEN, NOW I MUST PUSH THE BUTTON AGAIN TO STOP THE DOOR FROM CLOSING. THIS IS A DANGER ESPECIALLY TO CHILDREN.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED ALL OVER WITH A LARGE CRACK NEXT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG.
