MY WIFE WAS ACCELERATING FROM OUR STREET ONTO A MAJOR HIGHWAY WHEN THE ENGINE NEARLY SHUT DOWN. HER SPEED WAS REDUCED TO JUST 5 MPH AND THE DASHBOARD FLASHED ENGINE POWER REDUCED, SERVICE STABILITRAK, AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL. UNFORTUNATELY, SHE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THIS WAS SINCE THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THIS CAR IN THE LAST 18! WE TOOK IT TO OUR DEALER AND THEY TESTED THE VEHICLE AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR HAD FAILED AGAIN! WE ARE EXTREMELY UNEASY WITH THE CAR NOW SINCE EACH TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED, IT HAS BEEN WHILE ONE OF US WAS ACCELERATING ONTO A HIGHWAY OR INTERSTATE. ON THE PREVIOUS OCCASION, SHE HAD TO QUICKLY MOVE AWAY FROM ONCOMING TRAFFIC...WITH OUR CHILDREN IN THE CAR. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THEY SEE THIS PROBLEM VERY OFTEN, BUT NOT THIS MUCH IN ONE CAR. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECTIVE PART AND SHOULD BE CHECKED INTO IMMEDIATELY. *TR
THE DASH BOARD IS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE AREAS. *TR
MY DASHBOARD CRACKED AND I'M CONCERNED ABOUT MY AIRBAGS. I GUESS A LOT OF THE CHEVY TAHOES HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE DASHBOARD CRACKING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO NORMAL WEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
AFTER DRIVING APPROX 3 MILES, MY "STABILITRAK OFF", "TRACTION CONTROL OFF", ABS LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALL CAME ON, SIMULTANEOUSLY. MY SPEEDOMETER AND OTHER GAUGES STARTED SWINGING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT AND THEN FLATLINED, MY POWER LOCKS, "LOCKED AND UNLOCKED" . WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED, THE WHOLE TAHOE JERKED. WHEN I ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION APPROX 3 MILES FURTHER AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF, ATTEMPTED TO RE START AND IT WONT START. THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN TWO WEEKS. I HAVE TAKEN TO A CHEVY DEALER TWICE TO DIAGNOSE. BOTH TIMES THEY SAID THEY CANNOT FIND THE CAUSE, AND ALL THEY CAN DO IS RESET THE ERROR CODES. *TR
DASH CRACKED IN WHAT APPEARS TO BE VERY COMMON SPOTS, JUST ABOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL, AND IN THE CORNER NEAREST THE TOP LEFT OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG COVER. THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS IN AN ACCIDENT, AND IS A KNOWN DEFECT THAT CHEVY IS CHOOSING TO IGNORE.
I WENT TO PULL ON THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND THE WHOLE DOOR HANDLE SEPARATED FROM THE BODY OF THE CAR! THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY SO IT DIDN'T COST US ANYTHING TO GET IT FIXED. THIS TIME HOWEVER IT IS NOT SO I'M SURE WE WILL BE OUT A NICE CHUNK OF CHANGE TO GET IT FIXED. POOR QUALITY CONSIDERING THIS IS A $50K+ VEHICLE! GM NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES. *TR
DASH BOARD CRACKED DRIVER SIDE. *TR
I GOT OUT OF MY CAR ONE NIGHT EVERYTHING WAS FINE GOT BACK IN IT THE NEXT MORNING TO A HUGE CRACK IN THE DASH. TWO WEEKS LATER THERE IS ANOTHER CRACK IN THE DASH ON THE OTHER SIDE ABOVE THE AIRBAGS. AND THE STEERING WHEEL IS PEELING. *TR
DASHBOARD CRACKING. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS WITH THE CRACKING GETTING LARGER FROM ONE SIDE OF DASHBOARD TO THE OTHER.
DASHBOARD HAS SERIOUS CRACKS DUE TO DETERIORATION. GET WORSE EVERY SUMMER SEASON.
I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND AS I TOOK OFF THE STABILITRACK SAID IT NEED TO BE SERVICED AND THE ENGINE POWER WAS REDUCED. TOOK TO SHOP AND THEY RESET THE COMPUTER AND EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. NOW 4 DAYS LATER I WAS IN THE CAR WASH PARKED WITH THE CAR RUNNING WHILE I WAS VACUUMING AND LOST ALL POWER AND STABILITRACK DID THE SAME THING. AFTER WAITING 10 MINUTES OR SO I WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE IT TO THE SHOP AGAIN. THEY SAID IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND IT DOESN'T HAVE A TRUE "FIX" AT THIS POINT. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE, 2WD, LT1 ON 02/20/2013. I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THAT THE CHROME ON THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES WAS FLAKING OFF. I RECEIVED A CUT TO MY HAND WHEN OPENING ONE OF THE INTERIOR DOORS. BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE COMING APART. I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ONLINE WITH THIS MODEL AND IT APPEARS THAT NO ONE HAS DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THERE IS ALSO A CRACK IN THE DASH BETWEEN THE DEFROST VENT AND THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. A SEARCH OF THE INTERNET REVEALS SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FROM HUNDREDS OF CONSUMERS WHO HAVE REPORTED THESE SAME FLAWS WITH THIS SAME MODEL. ALSO, THE TRIM ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND RADIO BUTTONS ARE PEELING OFF. THE 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE SEEMS TO BE PLAGUED WITH THESE THREE PART FAILURES AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS. A CUT MAY NOT SEEM SEVERE, UNTIL THE CUT DOESN'T HEAL PROPERLY, LEAVES PERMANENT SCARING AND POSSIBLY THE ADDED THREAT OF INFECTION. I HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER WHO STATED THAT THESE ISSUES WERE NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY OR RECALL. I AM INTERESTED IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT TO CORRECT THESE FLAWS. THIS IS THE 3RD TAHOE I HAVE OWNED AND CONSIDERED MYSELF A LOYAL TAHOE OWNER. THIS IS THE ONLY MODEL YEAR THAT I HAVE EVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH. WHILE DRIVING 72 MPH ON HIGHWAY STABILITRAK LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND FLASHING ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND ENGINE BOGGED DOWN WITH NO POWER. AFTER ALMOST GETTING HIT BY 2 SEMIS I GOT THE TRUCK OFF THE ROAD.. I HAVE READ UP ON THIS ISSUE AND CHEVY NEEDS A RECALL ON THIS.. SOMEONE IS GONNA GET KILLED. *TR
THERE IS A CRACK ON MY DASH LEFT OF DRIVER HUMP AND ONE IN FRONT OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I HAVE FOUND THAT ALMOST ALL PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN IN THEIR CHEVROLET TAHOES AND SILVERADOS AND MINE JUST HAPPENED TO HAPPEN AFTER WARRANTY. I NEED THIS FIXED. *TR
CRACKED DASH.
FIRST OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE. NOTICING SUBSTANTIAL CRACKS IN THE PLASTIC DASHBOARD INCLUDING NEAR THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SITE. COULD LEAD TO POSSIBLE TEARING OF AIRBAG OR PLASTIC BEING THROWN TOWARDS PASSENGERS IF AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY. ALSO HAVE AN ISSUE WITH CHROME PEELING FROM THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES CAUSING CUTS TO THE HANDS WHEN OPENING THE DOOR. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN ABUSED IN ANY WAY OR USED AS A WORK TRUCK. HAS ALSO BEEN GARAGE KEPT. *TR
DOOR HANDLES, EXTERIOR, PASSENGER SIDE. PRODUCT DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING FAILURE... OR BOTH. BOTH DOOR HANDLES HAVE FAILED. FIRST, THE REAR HANDLE BECAME DISCONNECTED INSIDE THE DOOR ALLOWING THE ENTIRE HANDLE ASSEMBLY TO ROTATE AWAY FROM THE BODY OF THE CAR, CAUSING THE HANDLE TO BECOME INOPERABLE. SECOND, THE FRONT PASSENGER EXTERIOR HANDLE, OPERABLE PORTION, CAME OFF COMPLETELY, RENDERING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO ENTER THE FRONT PASSENGER COMPARTMENT FROM THE EXTERIOR. IT IS CLEAR FROM MULTIPLE INTERNET POSTS THIS IS A PRODUCT DESIGN AND/OR MANUFACTURING FAILURE AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER AS A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER IS CLEARLY AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND THE PEELING CHROME LAYER THAT CAUSES PERSONAL INJURY. CHEVROLET AND ITS DEALERS ARE PROFITING FROM THIS DEFECT AT THE EXPENSE OF CONSUMERS. RECALL SHOULD BE ORDERED! AND CONSUMERS WHO HAVE PAID FOR THE REPAIR SHOULD BE REIMBURSED 100%. *TR
TWO CRACKS HAVE APPEARED IN THE DASH, ONE OF THEM IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE PASSENGER SIDE WHERE THE AIR BAG IS THE SECOND ONE IS DRIVER SIDE ON TOP. I'M CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAG IS COMPROMISED, AND COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD. *JS
TRUCK WILL NOT START AT TIMES, HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN A PREVIOUS CHEVY TAHOE 2007 LT THAT I OWNED PRIOR AND THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. IT 50% OF THE TIME WILL START UP IF I ALLOW IT TO SIT FOR MOMENT, AT OTHER TIMES I HAVE TO JUMP IT. IT CURRENTLY HAS NEW BATTERY, WHICH DID NOT HELP THE PROBLEM. *TR
THE MOLDED PLASTIC ON THE DASHBOARD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE HAS AN 8" CRACK THAT BEGINS WHERE THE DASH MEETS THE WINDOW AREA AND EXTENDS UP TOWARDS THE DRIVER AND EXTENDS UP THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROUNDED PORTION OF THE DASH THAT HOUSES THE SPEEDOMETER AND OTHER INSTRUMENTATION. THE TRUCK IS GARAGED AND I USE A WINDOW SUN SCREEN WHEN PARKED OUTSIDE. UPON MUCH RESEARCH THERE SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2007 TAHOE SPECIFICALLY, DEALER CONFIRMED, WITH DASHBOARD CRACKING IN THE EXACT LOCATION I IDENTIFIED ABOVE AS WELL AS ON THE RIGHT SIDE BY THE AIRBAG. I HAVE A CONCERN THAT THE PLASTIC IS DEFECTIVE IN THIS YEAR AND MODEL AND ALTHOUGH IT IS INITIALLY THOUGHT OF AS COSMETIC (STILL NO EXCUSE), MOST IMPORTANTLY I FEAR THAT THE COMPROMISED DASH WILL COMPROMISE THE INTEGRITY OF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT SHOULD IT BE NEEDED. THIS NEEDS TO BE REPORTED TO CHEVY WHICH I HAVE DONE AND A RECALL MUST BE DEMANDED TO MITIGATE ANY AIR BAD DEPLOYMENT CONCERNS AS WELL AS TO RESOLVE THE TERRIBLE COSMETIC DEFECT. THANK YOU. *TR
WAS DRIVING AND WHEN EXITING FREEWAY. TRUCK STARTED SHAKING REALLY BAD AND TRACTION /STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON. ENGIEN LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON AND OFF FOR ABOUT A YEAR. ALL THEY DO IS RESET SYSTEM AND COMES RIGHT BACK ON A FEW DAYS LATER. IT BEEN WELL TAKEN CARE OF. BOUGHT IT IN 06 AND PAID IT OFF IN 08. THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN GIVING ME MANY PROBLEM SINCE 09. I EVEN HAVE A CRAKE ON DASH BOARD ALL THE WAY TO AIR BAG SINCE 08. DEALER SAID NO RECALLS AND IS DUE TO SUN! BULL.... I HAVE BEEN READING ON-LINE AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE SIMALIER PROBLEMS. *TR
I NOTICED A CRACK ON THE DASHBOARD ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND ANOTHER NEXT TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. MY CONCERN REGARDING THE CRACK NEAR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS WHETHER THIS WILL EFFECT THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. THE CRACK ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER KEEPS SPREADING, THIS CONCERNS ME AS WELL SINCE A PIECE MAY BREAK OFF AND CAUSE INTERNAL DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS INSIDE THE DASHBOARD. I SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AT MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. HE ADMITTED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THESE DASHBOARDS AND HOPED THAT A RECALL WOULD BE ISSUED BY THE MANUFACTURER. HE SUGGESTED I CONTACT GM ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND SEE IF I QUALIFY FOR A "GOODWILL DASH REPLACEMENT". I SENT AN EMAIL TO GM. I SPOKE TO 3 GM REPS BEFORE I SPOKE TO THE REP ASSIGNED TO MY CASE,[XXX]. [XXX] SAID THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE UNDER THE GOODWILL PROGRAM BECAUSE I AM THE SECOND OWNER. I ADVISED HER THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHERS THAT HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I WAS TRAVELING ON A STATE HIGHWAY TO AN EVENT. THIS WAS THE SECOND DAY OF THE EVENT, SO I HAD TRAVELED THE SAME ROAD THE DAY PRIOR. I SLOWED TO CROSS RAILROAD TRACKS. WHILE CROSSING THE TRACKS, THE FRONT AND MIDDLE SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED ON BOTH THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SIDES. THE FORCE OF THE DEPLOYMENT ALSO CRACKED AREAS AROUND THE INTERIOR WALLS AND BLEW OUT THE REAR OVERHEAD LIGHT. I AM NOT SURE EXACTLY WHAT, BUT SOMETHING STRUCK ME ON THE TOP OF MY HEAD AT THE TIME OF THE DEPLOYMENT. FORTUNATELY, I HAD SLOWED TO CROSS THE TRACKS OR THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A DIFFERENT OUTCOME. *TR
THIS IS THE SECOND INCIDENT. WAS DRIVING AT 45 MPH AND MADE A TURN. THE TAHOE LOSS POWER AND STALLED. THE COMPUTER READ REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND STABILITY TRAK OFF. THIS IS BOTHERSOME BEING THAT THIS CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE AT ANYTIME. AFRAID OF POSSIBLE ACCIDENT OR WORSE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE STEERING SEIZED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST ONTO THE SHOULDER AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 105,753.
GM HAS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH DASHBOARDS CRACKING NEAR WHERE THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLES. THERE IS ALSO CRACKING ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE INSTRUMENT POD. ALL CRACKS ARE IN IDENTICAL AREAS OF THESE SAME MODEL YEARS AND NEWER. I HAVE TWO VEHICLES (2007 TAHOE AND 2007 AVALANCHE WITH THE SAME CRACKS AND WILL FILE TWO COMPLAINTS). *TR UPDATED 01/29/14
UPON PURCHASING MY 2007 TAHOE USED I NOTICED 2 CRACKS ON DASHBOARD. THE ONE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS CRACKED AT CORNER OF AIRBAG WHICH IS CONCERNING DUE TO AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT SHARDS OF PLASTIC COULD BE TURN ED INTO PROJECTILES. NOTICED THERE ARE MANY, MANY OF THE SAME VEHICLES WITH IDENTICAL CRACKS AND LOCATIONS OF THEM. THANKS *TR
DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE CORNER ABOVE THE AIRBAG. DASH HAS NOT BEEN SUBJECTED TO STRESS / PRESSURE. IT APPEARS TO BE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AS THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY INDIVIDUALS ONLINE. I FEAR THAT THIS CRACK WILL EXPAND AND CAN POTENTIALLY AFFECT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG ITSELF. AS THIS VEHICLE IS A '07 MODEL, IT SHOULD NOT CRACK AFTER LESS THAN 5 YEARS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS ADVISED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000. *TR
ME AND MY DAUGHTER HAVE BEEN CUT ON OUR HANDS BECAUSE BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVERS SIDE INTERIOR CHROME HANDLE IS PEELING OFF. I HAD TO PUT ELECTRICAL TAPE ON IT, SINCE BOTH ARE AS SHARP AS A RAZOR. *TR
AFTER 5 MINUTES OF HAVING STARTED THE CAR AND DRIVING THE RPM GAUGE RAISED TO 4RPMS AND WOULD NOT DROP BELOW 3RPMS, EVEN AFTER HAVING STOPPED THE CAR AND TURNING OFF THE ENGINE. CALLED CHEVY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE REP HUNG UP ON ME. *TR

OK- JUST TO LET U KNOW WE NO LONGER HAVE THIS VEHICLE. I WAS TO SCARED THAT MY FAMILY WOULD GET SERIOUSLY INJURED IN THIS VEHICLE. THE STABILITY TRACK WOULD CAUSE THIS VEHICLE TO DECREASE ENGINE SPEED. I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER ON A HIGHWAY, SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESET UNTIL I COULD BRING IT TO THE DEALER. AFTER SEVEN TIMES AT DEALERSHIP AFTER SEVERAL YEARS, I COULD NOT TRUST IT. IT WAS NOT VERY DEPENDABLE. PLEASE NOW THAT THE LIGHT HAS BEEN BROUGHT ON REGARDING GM AND THE CRUZE VEHICLE, PLEASE RECALL THIS YEAR MODEL. SO SCARED SOMEONE WILL BE SERIOUSLY INJURED. I HAVE ALL RECORDS ON THIS VEHICLE. ( SOLD IT AND MOVED ONTO A HONDA PILOT) NEVER EVER WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS YEAR VEHICLE TO ANYONE. PLEASE TAKE MY INFORMATION SERIOUSLY. THANK YOU. *TR
NOTICED A CRACK ON THE DASH BOARD RIGHT ABOVE THE GAUGE CLUSTER. HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER WITH THE SAME VEHICLE AND SAW THAT THEIR VEHICLES DASH WAS FULL OF CRACKS AND DECIDED TO RESEARCH THE ISSUE. I FOUND BLOGS AND VIDEOS THROUGH OUT THE INTERNET OF PEOPLE ALL AROUND WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE SMELLED A FOUL ODOR AND NOTICED SMOKE EMITTING FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR WHILE DRIVING AN UNKNOWN SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND WAS LATER TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 102,000.
THE OIL LEVEL LOW LIGHT CAME ON IN THE CAR. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC. HE ALSO HAS A 2007 TAHOE. HE TOLD ME TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALER. HE HAS SEEN THIS MANY TIMES IN THE 2007 TAHOE, APPARENTLY THEY BURN OIL AND IT IS DUE TO A DEFECTIVE DESIGN OF THE PISTON AND PISTON RING. THE DEALER PAID FOR HIS TAHOE TO BE FIXED. I WAS TOLD THAT GM NOW USES A MINIMUM PARTICIPATION FINANCIAL CALCULATOR AND GM WOULD ONLY PAY FOR 45% OF THE COST TO REPAIR, LEAVING ME WITH A $1,705.10 REPAIR BILL. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE REPAIR COST DOWN TO $850. HOWEVER, THIS CAR IS DEFECTIVE. I HAVE NOT EVEN FINISHED PAYING FOR THE CAR AND THE DEALER IS TELLING ME I NEED A NEW ENGINE DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW. I THINK GM NEEDS TO DO THE RIGHT THING HERE AND REPAIR THEIR FLAWED 2007 TAHOES. GM CLEARLY KNOWS OF THE FLAW AS THEY REDESIGNED THE 2008 PISTON AND PISTON RING. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS LATER CONTACTED AND STATED THEY WERE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THAT COMPONENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 57,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 59,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

REAR DRIVERSIDE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKE. HAVE READ HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON CHEVY BLOGS....THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL FOR GM-HANDLES BRAKE REGULARLY, VERY COSTLY TO FIX, AND FOR MOST OF US OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY. PLEASE HELP THE CONSUMERS. *TR
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT THE DASHBOARD CRACKED. I BOOUGHT THE TAHOE IN 04/13/2010 AND HAD 25,967 MILES IN JUNE 7, 2011 AFTER PAYING $350.00 FOR LABOR THE DEALER REPLACED THE DASHBOARD AND NOW A YEAR AND FOUR MONTHS IT IS CRACKED AGAIN AND I SPOKE WITH A SERVICES PERSON AT THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT IS BEEN A YEAR AND THERE IS NOT COVERAGE FOR. I'M VERY UPSET I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE THAT IT ONLY LASTED A YEAR SO IF I SPENT MY MONEY FIXING THIS AGAIN HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TILL IT BRAKES AGAIN. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WE PURCHASED A 2007 TAHOE IN AUGUST 2012. SINCE THIS TIME, MY WIFE AND I HAVE BOTH EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL STARTING ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. A JUMP START OR BOOST WILL OFTEN ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO START. HOWEVER, THERE HAVE BEEN SITUATIONS WHERE WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND AN AVAILABLE BOOST. WE HAVE BEEN STRANDED IN PARKING LOTS, FAMILY VACATIONS, WORK, AND OUR KIDS GAMES OR PRACTICES. AS NOTED IN MANY OF THE COMPLAINTS, THE STARTING PROBLEMS ARE INTERMITTENT AND THERE ARE TIMES A BOOST WILL NOT START THE VEHICLE. IN FACT, WE EVEN BEGAN TO LOSE POWER TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS DURING A FAMILY VACATION THIS PAST SUMMER. THIS IS VERY DISTURBING ISSUE FOR GM AND THEIR APPARENT INABILITY OR UNWILLINGNESS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. IN ADDITION TO THE STARTING / LOSS OF POWER PROBLEMS, A CRACKED DASH AND FAULTY CRUISE CONTROL IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WITH THE TECHNOLOGY AVAILABLE. BASED ON A REVIEW OF THE COMPLAINTS, IT MAY LIKELY BE A BATTERY CABLE ISSUE. GM MUST RECALL THIS KNOWN PROBLEM!!! *TR
TWO CRACKS LOCATED ON THE DASH. ONE IS LOCATED ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE DRIVER SIDE "HUMP" AND THE OTHER IS LOCATED ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND CONNECTS FROM THE AIRBAG TO THE VENT. I AM CONCERNED THAT THESE WILL EFFECT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT IF A CRASH OCCURS. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME NATURE ON THE 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOES. *TR

THE DRIVER INFORMATION COMPUTER SCREEN AND PRND321 LIGHTS HAVE FAILED. THE DASHBOARD INSIDE HAS CRACKED IN TWO AREAS. *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AT 5:30 AM TO GO TO A CHARITY EVENT 5K RUN. SHE WAS GOING 40MPH, ON A STREET THAT HAD NO TRAFFIC ON IT THAT EARLY IN THE MORNING, WHEN OUT OF THE BLUE, ALL THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I CONTACTED GM CENTRAL OFFICE, THEY DID AN INVESTIGATION, THEN TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE NOT AT FAULT, THAT THE COMPUTER ON THE TAHOE SAID IT WAS ABOUT TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT SO THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I TOLD HIM THE COMPUTER WAS EVIDENTLY WRONG SINCE MY WIFE WAS NOT ABOUT TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT. HE SAID THAT THE TAHOE FUNCTIONED NORMALLY AS IT SHOULD. I ASKED HIM AGAIN IF IT WAS NORMAL FOR AIRBAGS JUST TO DEPLOY ON THEIR OWN WITH NO EVIDENCE OF AN ACCIDENT AND IF THE COMPUTER "SAID" SO, THEN EVIDENTLY THE COMPUTER IS WRONG AND FAULTY AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.. HE SAID GM WILL NOT ADMIT ANY FAULT AND THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR IT. I AM SEEKING LEGAL COUNSEL FOR A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY ON A CROWDED INTERSTATE, I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A HORRIFIC WRECK AND PEOPLE SERIOUSLY INJURED IF NOT KILLED. THE DASH HAS CRACKED BEHIND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I AM AFRAID IF THE BAG DEPLOYS IT WILL THROW THE PIECE AS A PROJECTILE AND HIT THE PASSENGER. MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET, GM IS SELECTIVELY ASSISTING IN REPAIR. I WAS INFORMED THEY WOULD NOT HELP ME BECAUSE I HAVE AN AFTERMARKET RADIO AND ALARM, NEITHER OF WHICH IS ANYWHERE NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDOW CONTROL PANEL BURNED, CAUSING THE POWER WINDOW UNIT TO BECOME INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT REPAIRED THE CONTROL PANEL WITH PARTS FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND FILED A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000.
2 OF THE 4 DOOR HANDLES HAVE BROKEN OFF, THEY ARE CHROME AND EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR. IT BECOMES A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO REPLACE THEM AND CHILDREN'S FINGERS GO BETWEEN THE HANDLE AND BODY OF THE CAR. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT MANY OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED WITH THIS SPECIFIC AUTOMOBILE. *TR
