THE DASH IN MY VEHICLE CRACKED SIGNIFICANTLY LAST WEEK AS I WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN, GM INDICATED THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL BUT AFTER READING INTO IT, THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO BE QUITE PREVALENT. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.

TAKATA RECALL - RECALL WAS ISSUED MAY 27, 2016 FOR PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG - 16V381. GM HAS NO INFORMATION WHEN PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR AND I WAS TOLD THEY ARE WAITING FOR THE NHTSA TO APPROVE THE REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE AND PARTS. WHEN WILL THE PARTS BE AVAILABLE? I ALSO HAVE A 2011 TOYOTA COROLLA WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND NO ANSWERS. IT HAS BEEN 6 MONTHS AND WE HAVE NO ANSWERS FROM NHTSA! PLEASE ACT.

I HAVE HAD AN AIRBAG RECALL NOTICE FOR ABOUT 18 MONTHS. NUMEROUS CALLS TO GM AND DEALER WHO SAY "NO PARTS AVAILABLE". DO I HAVE TO WAIT TO BE INJURED TO GET THIS FIXED?
TAKATA RECALL: CONTACTED CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP, THEY ADVISE THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO REGARDING THE AIRBAG RECALL AS THERE ARE NO PARTS TO REPAIR THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG. THEY ALSO STATED THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN OR IF PARTS WILL EVER BE AVAILABLE TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG.

TAKATA RECALL - GENERAL MOTORS AND THEIR AUTHORIZED DEALERS HAVE REFUSED TO REPLACE THE FAULTY PASSENGER AIR BAG ON OUR 2011 CHEVROLET TAHOE EVEN THOUGH ITS BEEN RECALLED IN 2016. THE NHTSA RECALL NUMBER IS 16V381 AND MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER IS 2049151 AND EVEN THOUGH THEIR IS A RECALL FOR OUR VEHICLE'S AIR BAG, ALL OF THE GENERAL MOTORS DEALERS WE CONTACTED SAID NOTHING WAS BEING DONE TO RECALL THE FAULTY AIR BAG AND THAT THE CAR WAS "SAFE TO DRIVE" WHICH IS UNACCEPTABLE. I WANT TO RESOLVE MY DEFECTIVE AIRBAG PROBLEM WITH OUR VEHICLE BUT I AM POWERLESS TO FORCE GENERAL MOTORS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM WITHOUT EXPENSIVE LITIGATION. I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THE STATEMENT OF "YOUR VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE" FROM GENERAL MOTORS AND THEIR DEALERSHIPS KNOWING THAT OUR CAR COULD BE A POTENTIAL DEATH TRAP IN THE FUTURE.

THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKS IN MULTIPLE AREAS WHICH HAS CREATED A SAFETY CONCERN IF THE AIRBAGS WERE TO DEPLOY. I'M CONCERNED THAT THE PLASTIC THAT IS CRACKED COULD FLY/HIT DRIVER/PASSENGER IN THE CASE OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.
DASHBOARD CRACKING
NO AIR BAGS AVAILABLE
A RANDOM CRACK, ABOUT 2" LONG, APPEARED IN DASH JUST ABOVE AND TO THE RIGHT OF STEERING WHEEL. FURTHER RESEARCH SHOWED THAT THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THIS MAKE AND MODE DURING 2007-2011 AND GM IS AWARE BUT IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT.
DASH HAS CRACKED AROUND PASSENGER AIR BAG. AFRAID IT WILL EASILY DEPLOY. JUST NOTICED THIS 2" CRACK ABOUT A MONTH AGO. NO REASON TO HAVE CRACKED.
2 ISSUES--- 1ST--DASHBOARD HAS CRACKS IN IT, WHICH 1 CRACK IS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. IT COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD AND CAUSE THE AIRBAG TO EXPLODE CAUSING GREAT HARM TO A PERSON. THESE CRACKS ARE IN THE SAME POSITION AS MANY OTHER CONSUMERS WHO HAVE MADE COMPLAINTS. 2ND--ENGINE SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING; NO STEERING OR BRAKE CONTROL. RADIO SHUTS OFF & ON, ALL DASH COMPONENTS FLICKER ON AND OFF, GAUGES TURN OFF, DOOR LOCKS ENGAGE & DISENGAGE. THIS HAPPENS FOR 3-10 SECONDS AND THEN WILL "RESET" AND FUNCTION NORMAL. I'VE LOOKED AT DIFFERENT FORUMS TO TRY TO FIND OUT WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE.
MY VEHICLE IS PARKED UNDER A SHELTER. THE DASH CRACKED AT THE CORNER WHERE THE AIR BAG IS. IF YOU LOOK ON THE INTERNET, THERE TO SEE IF THERE IS A RECALL, YOU WILL SEE THAT THERE ARE THOUSANDS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM IN THE SAME EXACT LOCATION.

DASH ON 2011 CHEVROLET TAHOE HAS CRACKED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE NEXT TO THE AIRBAG PANEL. DASH HAS ALSO CRACKED ON THE DRIVER SIDE ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER. CONCERN IS THAT IN A CAR ACCIDENT WHERE THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY THE DASH BOARD MAY BREAK APART AND BECOME SHRAPNEL CAUSING ADDITIONAL INJURY, PERMANENT DISABILITY, OR DEATH TO THE PASSENGER.
2011 CHEVROLET TAHOE. ONLY HAVE 82000 MILES ON IT. IT HAS DEVELOPED A CRACK IN THE DASH ON THE DRIVERS SIDE THAT IS ALSO CAUSING A RATTLE. IT KEEPS GETTING LONGER.
NO RESOLUTION HAS BEEN MADE IN OVER A YEAR & THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT COULD INJURY OR DEATH TO ANYONE IN MY CAR INCLUDING MYSELF OR MY YOUNG CHILDREN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD BEGAN TO CRACK. THE DASHBOARD FIRST BEGAN CRACKING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE NEAR THE AIR BAG HOUSING. IT THEN BEGAN TO CRACK DIRECTLY ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING. INSTRUMENT PANEL INCLUDING ALL GAUGES STOPPED WORKING. STOPPED THE VEHICLE, WAITED AND RESTARTED IT. INSTRUMENT PANEL AND GAUGES BEGAN WORKING. FROM THEN ON INSTRUMENT PANEL AND ALL GAUGES WORKED ONLY INTERMITTENTLY. AFTER A FEW WEEKS GAUGES STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. I WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE, SPEED, AMOUNT OF FUEL, COULD NOT TELL IF THE TURN SIGNALS WERE WORKING, BACK UP WARNING SOUND WAS NOT WORKING, CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT WORK. DEALER SAID THE ENTIRE GAUGE PANEL REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE HAS JUST UNDER 50,000 MILES.
DASHBOARD HAS STARTED CRACKING CAUSING CONCERNS OVER DRIVER AND PASSENGER SAFETY
DASHBOARD HAS 3 CRACKS. ONE NEXT TO PASSENGER AIRBAG, ONE THAT STARTS CLOSE TO WINDSHIELD AND MOVES TOWARDS THE DASH GAUGES STRAIGHT AT THE DRIVER AND THE LAST ONE IS NEXT TO THE GAUGE CRACK BUT SMALLER. IT SEEMS THIS IS A CONSTANT PROBLEM WITH GM. IT HAS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE WITH IT BEING NEXT TO AIRBAG AND IN FRONT OF DRIVER AS WELL. THESE CRACKS APPEAR BECAUSE OF THE CHEAP PLASTIC AND NOTHING ELSE.
THE DASH JUST RECENTLY CRACKED OVER THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS VEHICLE HAD BEEN GARAGED, I USE WINDOW COVERS, AND IT ONLY HAS 40,000. I AM 100% A GM CUSTOMER, BUT THE LACK OF QUALITY WITH RESPECT TO MATERIALS IS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING.
2011 CHEVY TAHOE 24K MILES DASH COVER IS CRACKED. VEHICLE IS METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED AND THE DASH HAS CRACKED. WORRIED ABOUT FURTHER DEGRADATION ESPECIALLY AROUND AIR BAG AS THIS SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE.
ON MARCH 17,2015 I LEFT MY HOME DRIVING MY VEHICE WITH THE SEAT BELT ON I GOT TO MY DESTINATION AND WHEN I TRIED TO FASTENED MY SEAT BELT , I HAD TO DRIVE BACK HOME UNBUCKLE, I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET IT THIS SAFETY CONCERN CHECKED, THEY CAME BACK AND TOLD ME THAT THE DRIVERS SEAT BELT LATCH WAS STUCK IN CLOSED POSITION, THEY NEVER SAID IT WAS DUE TO WEAR AND TEAR, THEY SAID THEY HAD TO REPLACE IT, THEY DID AND CHARGE ME FOR IT. I FILE A CLAIM WITH CHEVROLET AND 4 DAYS LATER THEY CAME BACK SAYING THAT THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SEAT BELT ISSUE THAT IT WAS WEAR AND TEAR, I MENTIONED TO THEM THAT MY TRUCK IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD,THEY SAID THAY HAD TO GO BACK AND SEE HOW THE PREVIOUS OWNER TREATED THE TRUCK AND ALSO THAT I PURCHASE A USED VEHICLE. I DISAGREE WITH EVERY SINGLE WORD THEY SAID. I THINK CHEVROLET IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY ACCESSORIES THEY INSTALL ON EVERY SINGLE VEHICLE. I THANK GOD NOTHING HAPPENED TO ME WHILE I DROVE WITHOUT A SEAT BELT. I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY CARS OUT THERE HAVE HAD THIS SAME ISSUE.
I HAVE A CRACK IN MY DASH THAT IS NEAR THE TOP LEFT HAND CORNER OF MY AIRBAG PANEL. ALSO, THERE IS ANOTHER CRACK THAT GOES OVER THE TOP OF MY INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CRACKS APPEARED OUT OF NOWHERE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY KIND OF WRECK. THE CRACKS WERE POINTED OUT TO ME WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE APPX. SIX MONTHS AGO. I AM TRYING TO TRADE IN MY VEHICLE AND I AM GETTING $1,000 HIT ON THE TRADE-IN AMOUNT OFFERED. THE MORE I INVESTIGATE IT SEEMS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL????????????????
TAKATA RECALL THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING ALONG THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND OVER THE DRIVER SIDE TACHOMETER. MY CONCERN IS WHEN AND IF THE AIRBAG SHOULD DEPLOY, THERE MIGHT POSSIBLY BE PROJECTILES FROM THIS DEFECTIVE CRACK. OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS, THE CRACK ABOVE THE TACHOMETER KEEPS GETTING LARGER. THE DASH IS CRACKED ALL OF THE TIME WHEN STATIONARY AND MOVING. I WENT TO THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT THE CRACKED DASH WAS A DEFECT FOR SURE. HE ALSO STATED THAT THEY SEE THIS PROBLEM ALL OF THE TIME. WHEN WE CALLED GM ASSISTANCE, THEY STATED THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT BECAUSE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE DASH. THIS IS SIMILAR TO OTHER COMPLAINTS I HAVE SEEN ON THE INTERNET. I AM NOT SURE EXACTLY WHEN THE DASH FIRST CRACKED BECAUSE MY WIFE IS THE PRIMARY DRIVER AND IS NOT TALL ENOUGH TO SEE OVER THE DASH IN A SEATED POSITION. I DROVE HER CAR AND NOTICED IT MARCH OF 2016, BUT IT COULD HAVE HAPPENED SOONER.
CRACKED DASH BY PASSENGER AIR BAG, VEHICLE ONLY HAS 23,000 MILES. CONCERNED BOUT DEBRIS OR PROJECTILES AFTER AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT
TAKATA RECALL - MY DASH IS CRACKED FROM DRIVERS COLUMN TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. OTHER CRACKS IN THE SURFACE ARE STARTING TO FORM...I HOPE MY FAMILY IS NEVER IN A CRASH IT BOTHERS ME TO THINK THE DASHBOARD WILL CRUMBLE, BREAK APART AND COULD CAUSE OTHER INJURIES.
FRONT DASH CRACKING AND SMALL PIECES ARE LOOSE AND COME LOOSE AND CAN HIT THE PASSENGER OR DRIVER IN THE EYE
DASH BOARD HAS BEEN CRACKING...STARTED FROM THE CORNERS OF THE AIRBAG....NOW I HAVE CRACKS ALL OVER THE DASHBOARD.
CRACKED DASH BOARD ABOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND AROUND AIRBAG.
DASH HAS CRACKED RIGHT ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (15 INCH CRACK) AND JUST ABOVE THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, WHCIH SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
FRONT DASH HAS 2 CRACKS, ONE AROUND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AND THE OTHER IS ON THE DRIVER SIDE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. MUNDAY CHEVROLET (17800 NORTH FWY, HOUSTON, TX 77090, (281) 397-8600) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. *DT
CRACKED DASHBOARD ON DRIVER SIDE. UNSURE IF RELATED TO TAKATA INFLATORS.
THE DASH ON MY GARAGE KEPT TAHOE IS CRACKING AND FALLING APART. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT DAMAGE COULD BE DONE IF IN A WRECK AND THE SHARP PIECES ARE FLYING IN OUR FACES. THE FIRST CRACK BY THE AIRBAG HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY..I HEARD A LOUD POP AND IT SCARED ME TO DEATH. THE SECOND CRACK ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ALSO HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING BUT NOT AS LOUD.
