THE UPPER DASHBOARD ON MY 2011 CHEVY TAHOE HAS NUMEROUS CRACKS AND IS LITERALLY FALLING APART. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT IT IS ALSO A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD, BECAUSE A CRACKED DASHBOARD, PARTICULARLY ONE THAT IS DAMAGED AROUND THE PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG, CAN YIELD FLYING PROJECTILES IN THE EVENT THAT AN ACCIDENT TRIGGERS THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY. APPARENTLY THIS IS A WELL-KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED ISSUE BUT GM HAS YET TO ISSUE A RECALL OR OFFERED TO INVESTIGATE AT ALL ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS.
TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE CONTACTED GM TWICE SINCE AUGUST 26, 2016, AND THEY HAVE NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM YET. THANK GOD, NO ACCIDENT YET.
THERE IS A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK WHICH IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER. THE PROPELLANT IN SOME TYPES OF TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS CAN DEGRADE OVER TIME, ESPECIALLY AFTER LONG TERM EXPOSURE IN HOT AND HUMID REGIONS. IF THE PROPELLANT DEGRADES TO A CERTAIN LEVEL, THE INFLATORS MAY RUPTURE DURING DEPLOYMENT, CAUSING SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURIES. I HAVE A THREE YEAR OLD SON AND AM IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO HAVE ANOTHER CHILD. IF I DO GET PREGNANT AND THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS I COULD BE KILLED ALONG WITH MY UNBORN CHILD. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND FAMILY.
NOTICED LARGE CRACKED ON DASH BOARD ABOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND AROUND AIRBAG. DUE TO THE LOCATION OF CRACK AROUND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG, A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED AND DASH SHOULD BE REPLACED.
MY 2011 CHEVY TAHOE HAS CRACKS THAT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND JUST KEEP GETTING WORSE. IT HAS LOW MILES AND HAS BEEN KEPT IN THE GARAGE. THE DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG IS ALSO LOCATED IN THE DASHA AND I AM CONCERNED IF IT WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF IT DEPLOYS.
AIRBAG RECALL BUT GM IS NOT MAKING ANY EFFORT TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG. DASH IS CRACKED AND APPEARS TO BE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT.

" TAKATA'S RECALL" MY DEALERSHIP KEEPS TELLING ME MY GM 2011 CHEVROLET TAHOE IS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL, BUT I'M REALLY SURE IT IS. THEY KEEP TELLING ME FOR YEARS NOW IT IS SAFE. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT MUCH. CAN YOU TELL ME THE STATUS OF THIS SITUATION. DASH BOARD CRACK. THE DEALER REPAIRED IT SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND IT HAS CRACKED AGAIN AND COME LOOSE FROM THE PANEL UNDER THE WINDSHEILD.
DASHBOARD CRACKED AT AIRBAG AND ALSO NEAR STEERING COLUMN, INSTRUMENT PANEL FOR NO REASON

THE DASHBOARD HAS MULTIPLE CRACKS NOW THAT DEVELOPED BY THEMSELVES. I NOTICED ONE CRACK ONE DAY AND A FEW WEEKS LATER, I NOTICED OTHER CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD.
VEHICLE DASH IS CRACKED IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS INCLUDING AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THIS HAS BECOME A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE PLATFORM INCLUDING THE GMC YUKON, GMC YUKON XL, GMC SIERRA, CHEVY TAHOE, CHEVY SUBURBAN, AND CHEVY SILVERADO ALL WITHIN THE 2007-2013 MODEL YEARS. THERE ARE NUMEROUS DISCUSSIONS THREADS POSTED ONLINE AS WELL AS SOCIAL GROUPS IN WHICH OWNERS ARE INFORMING THE REST OF THE COMMUNITY OF THEIR SIMILAR PROBLEMS. THE MAIN CONCERN IS THAT IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE CRACKED DASHBOARD COULD FRAGMENT AS THE AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED CAUSING PROJECTILES WITHIN THE VEHICLE CABIN. TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE JULY 2016. RECENTLY WENT TO AIRBAGRECALL.COM SITE AND IT SAID "NO REMEDY AVAILABLE". WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT? THANKS.
THE DASH ON MY VEHICLE HAS BROKEN 2X AND IS BROKEN AGAIN CAUSING THE DASH TO ALLOW AN OPENING WHERE ITEMS CAN FALL INTO THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT CAUSING THE BAG TO MALFUNCTION.

DASHBOARD CRACKED ON TOP OF MAIN GAUGE DISPLAY.
MY TAHOE WAS PARKED WHEN I NOTICED 2 CRACKS ON THE LEFT HAND CORNER BY THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG ON MY DASHBOARD. I ALSO HAVE A REALLY LARGE CRACK ON THE DASHBOARD ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL . I AM CONCERNED THAT AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY CORRECTLY IF I WERE IN AN ACCIDENT.
I HAVE NOTICED 2 CRACKS ON THE DASHBOARD, ONE OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE OTHER ON THE RIGHT CORNER JUST IN FRONT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT (CRACK EXTENDS OUT FROM THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT) ON MY DASHBOARD. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY CORRECTLY IF I WERE IN AN ACCIDENT OR THAT THE DASHBOARD WILL SPLINTER AND CAUSE SEVERE INJURY IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED.
I BOUGHT A CHEVROLET TAHOE 20111, AND I NOTICED THAT THE DASH BOARD IS CRACKED IN SEVERAL AREA. THE TRUCK HAS 58,000 ORIGINAL MILES. THE DEALER IS REFUSING TO REPLACE THE DEFECTED PART WITH OUT CHARGING. AFTER DOING SEVERAL RESEARCH ABOUT THESE VEHICLE THEY ARE MANY TRUCKS OWNER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS POOR QUALITY PLASTIC. TAKATA RECALL - RECEIVED NOTICE OF RECALL 07/2016, STILL HAVE NEVER RECEIVED NOTICE THERE IS A FIX FOR THIS RECALL. MEANTIME, ANYONE RIDING IN MY VEHICLE IS AT DANGER. WHEN WILL A FIX BE AVAILABLE NOW ESPECIALLY WITH TAKATA THREATENING BANKRUPTCY?
DASHBOARD CRACKS. IN 2 DIFFERENT AREAS OF MY DASH, CRACKS START FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE RUNNING BACK TOWARDS THE FRONT SEATS. THE CRACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE CONNECTS TO THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT. IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY, IT SEEMS PLASTIC SHARDS MAY BECOME PROJECTILES IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS YEAR AND MAKE VEHICLE, ACCORDING TO ONLINE POSTS. I HAVE 1989, 2006, 2008 YEAR VEHICLES THAT THE DASH IS FULLY INTACT.
TAKATA RECALL. NHTSA EXPIRATION DATE ON GM'S FILING OF INCONSEQUENTIALITY HAS PASSED WITHOUT FURTHER INFORMATION BEING PROVIDED TO OWNERS. UNABLE TO GET REPLACEMENT SCHEDULED THROUGH ANY DEALERSHIP. UNABLE TO GET AMPLIFYING INFORMATION. GM SAYS IT IS SAFE, BUT THE RECALL IS STILL OUTSTANDING WITHOUT RESOLUTION.
TAKATA INFLATORS. IT HAS NOW BEEN OVER A YEAR THE AIRBAG ON MY VEHICLE HAS STILL NOT BEEN REPLACED. I WAS PUT ON NOTICE IT COULD CAUSE ME HARM YET NO REMEEDY HAS BEEN FOUND. CLEARLY THE AIRBAG NEEDS TO BE REPLACED SO THAT MY FAMILY IS SAFE. NOW I GET NOTICE THAT TK HOLDINGS HAS FILED CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ME AND MY FAMILY AND OUR SAFETY. WE NOW HAVE A 40K VEHICLE THAT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND HAVE NO RECOURSE? 'TAKATA RECALL' RECEIVED AN IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL(GM RECALL 49151) IN JULY 2016 SINCE THEN I CALL EVERY YEAR TO CHECK ON THE STATUS OF THE RECALL AND THEY ALWAYS TELL ME THERE IS NO NEED TO TAKE ACTION NOW. IT HAS BEEN OVER 3 YEARS NOW SINCE THIS DEFECT HAS NOT BEEN AVAILABLE TO REMEDY MY VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THAT THIS TIME FRAME HAS BEEN LONG ENOUGH TO MAKE MY VEHICLE SAFE AGAIN, SO MY QUESTION IS HOW MANY MORE YEARS DO I HAVE TO WAIT AND IS MY TRULY VEHICLE SAFE?

2011 CHEVY TAHOE DASH CRACK, 6/19/16, NO TRAUMA, PARKED IN CAR PORT, 64K MILES. ONCE RESEARCHED FOUND THIS TO BE A FREQUENT ISSUE WITH NO SOLUTION FROM GM/CHEVY. REQUESTING RECALL FOR DEFECTIVE DASH MATERIAL, RISK OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT IF CONTINUES TO CRACK.

NOW I RECEIVED 10/26/2017 A NOTICE THAT THE COMPANY TAKATA IS FILLING CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY. I'M NOT PLEASED WITH GM LEAVING THEIR CUSTOMERS HANGING. I DIDN'T BUY THE CAR FROM TAKATA I BOUGHT IT FROM GM. THE DEALER SAID THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO UNTIL GM INFORMS THEM ON WHAT TO DO.

AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER (NEW SMYRNA CHEVROLET, 2375 STATE ROAD 44, NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL) AND THE MANUFACTURER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE DEFECT WERE NOT AVAILABLE. RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL FROM CHEVROLET IN JUNE 2016 CONCERNING DEFECTIVE TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS. THE RECALL STATED I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. IT IS NOW AUGUST 2019 AND NO ONE HAS CONTACTED ME ABOUT THE RECALL. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS.
