ENGINE STALLED WHILE IN HEAVY RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AT 55 MPH. PULLED TO SHOULDER, ATTEMPTED TO RESTART ENGINE. EVERY TIME WE TRIED TO START CAR, FUEL PUMP ENGAGED AND GAS SPRAYED UNDER VEHICLE...CREATING A LARGE PUDDLE OF FUEL.*AK
WHEN ACCELERATING THE SUV SEEMS TO STALL AND NEEDS A WHILE TO PICK UP AND THIS CAUSES MANY NOISES TO COME OUT OF THE ENGINE. THIS HAS HAPPENED SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK IN 2002. TOOK THE TRUCK IN MANY TIMES AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID ITS NORMAL, BUT MY SISTER PURCHASED A 2005 TRAILBLAZER AND WHEN DRIVING THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS AND SOUND EXCELLENT, UNLIKE MINE THAT SOUDS LIKE A SEMI TAKING OFF.
SINCE PURCHASE (FEB. '02) TO PRESENT (JULY '03) THERE HAS BEEN A "HUMMING" / VIBRATING NOISE COMING FROM MY VEHICLE'S INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. IT IS VERY PROMINENT DURING SLOW SPEEDS, SUCH AS IN PARKING LOTS AND WHEN BEGINNING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. REPRESENTATIVES AT DEALER'S SERVICE DEPT. HAVE TOLD ME THAT THIS IS "NORMAL WITH TRAILBLAZERS".*AK

ENGINE STALLED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH. DEALER INSPECTED VEHICLE AND DETERMINED ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO SLEEVE OF ONE PISTON FALLING OFF.*AK
EXTERIOR MIRRORS ARE MISALIGNED AND DO NOT SHOW INTENDED VIEW. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED MANUFACTURER. MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF PROBLEM, AND WASWORKING ON A REMEDY.*AK
WHEN IF TRAFFIC, VEHICLE WOULD REPEATEDLY STALL WITH NO TROUBLE CODES IN COMPUTER. DEALER COULD NOT LOCATE PROBLEM. CONSUMER INSPECTED VEHICLE AND FOUND OIL SEAPING FROM CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, SATURATING WIRING. DEALER REPLACED. PROBLEM APPEARS CORRECTED.*AK
SOMETHING LOOSE AND BANGING IN THE FRONT END WHEN YOU HIT BUMP. I HAVE HAD VEHICLE TO TWO CHEVROLET DEALERS AND THEY SAY THEY CAN HEAR IT, SHOULD NOT DO THAT, BUT THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. I HAVE ONLY 2000 MILES LEFT ON MY WARRANTY, THEN WHAT?.HOW MANY CHEVROLET DEALERS, MR GOODWRENCH GUYS DOES IT TAKE TO FIX THIS VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY. AFTER WARRANTY I'LL BET THEY FIND THE PROBLEM. *NLM
WARPED FRONT BUMPER. BROUGHT BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND CHEVY WILL NOT FIX IT. FOUND OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. CHEVY SAYS THEY ARE WORKING ON A FIX. I BEEN COMPLAINING SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR. STILL WAITING FOR THE FIX. *LA
PROBLEM #1: PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WILL LOCK UP AND NOT RELEASE UNTIL BUCKLE RELEASE IS PUSHED. THE SEAT BELT TIGHTENS SO THAT PASSENGER CANNOT EVEN MAKE SMALL MOVEMENTS, LIKE OPENING THE GLOVEBOX OR OPERATING THE RADIO. THIS IS A SAFTEY HAZARD AS THE SEAT BELT IS PARTICULARIRLY RESTRICTING TO MY PREGNANT WIFE. TO RELEASE THE BELT BY RELEASING THE BUCKLE WOULD BE UNSAFE WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. BARTON BIRKS CHEVROLET DEALER SAYS BELT IS OF "NORMAL OPERATION AS PER MAKE AND MODEL DESIGN". DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT HAS NO SUCH PROBLEM HOWEVER. PROBLEM #2: DRIVER AND PASSEGER SIDE POWER MIRRORS WILL CHANGE THEIR POSITIONS AT RANDOM. THIS IS ANOTHER SAFTEY HAZARD BECAUSE OFTEN YOU WILL NOT NOTICE THAT THE MIRRIORS HAVE CHANGED THEIR POSITIONS ON THEIR OWN UNTIL YOU NEED THEM TO PERFORM A LANE CHANGE. MIRRORS OUT OF ALIGNMENT ARE INCREASING THE"BLIND SPOT". TO REALIGN MIRRORS WHEN DRIVING IS ALSO DISTRACTION, ALL OF WHICH COULD RESULT IN AN INCREASED RISK OF COLLISION. BARTON BIRKS DEALER SAYS "COULD NOT DUPLICATE CUSTOMER CONCERN".*AK
ON FOUR PRIOR OCCASSIONS, MY 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER HAS AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGED INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE FROM TWO WHEEL DRIVE. THE SWITCH INDICATOR REMAINED IN "2 WHEEL HI" BUT THE FLASHING LED WAS ALSO INDICATED ON THE "4 WHEEL HI." THIS LATEST INCIDENT, WHICH OCCURED ON A SNOW COVERED ROAD WHILE I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN, CAUSED ME TO TEMPORARILY LOSE CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE WITHOUT DAMAGE. THE OTHER THREE INCIDENTS' ALSO OCCURED WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE.
ON 12/13/01, CONSUMER HAD RECALL 01V283000 REMEDY PERFORMED ON THE TRANSFER CASE. ON 1/6/02 WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15MPH IN 4-WHEEL DRIVE MODE, THE BACK END OF TRUCK STARTED TO "KICK" OUT TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT. CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE RESULTING IN A COLLISION. ON 11/26/02 WHILE DRIVING WITH 4-WHEEL DRIVE ENGAGED, THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE INDICATOR BEGAN ACTING ERRATICALLY SWITCHING FROM 4-WHEEL LOW TO 4-WHEEL HIGH. DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED THAT PROBLEM EXISTS. TS
WHILE BEING DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 25 MPH VEHICLE WENT OFF THE ROAD AND CRASHED INTO A LARGE OAK TREE. BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY DURING THE CRASH. BODY SHOP STATED THAT AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED DUE TO DAMAGE VEHICLE RECEIVED. DEALERSHIP HAS NOT EXAMINED VEHICLE TO DETERMINE IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / DOCUMENTATION.**AK
FOUR WHEEL DRIVE LIGHT FLASHES ON DASHBOARD . BUT, WHEN SHIFTING VEHICLE IN GEAR VEHICLE WILLNOT MOVE. DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF PROBLEM. *AK

SHIFTER CANNOT BE PULLED OUT OF PARK; INTERLOCK SCREWED UP: DEALER CANNOT (WILL NOT) LOCATE PROBLEM DESPITE REPEATED ATTEMPTS.*AK
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AND WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING OR AT A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN. *AK THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND ACT AS IF IT HAD NO POWER, THE ENGINE BLEW AND WAS REPLACED. THE SECOND ENGINE EXPERIENCED SLIGHT MISS WHEN TRAVELING 65-70 MPH. THE DEALER PLACED FUEL INJECTION CLEANER IN THE VEHICLE AND THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *SCC *JB
FAILURE OCCURRED IN TRAFFIC IN ST. LOUIS, MO. A LARGE TRUCK FOLLOWING BEHIND HAD TO BRAKE ABRUPTLY TO AVOID REAR ENDING MY VEHICLE. THE OTHER DRIVER WAS KIND ENOUGH TO TELL ME THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD THEM REPAIRED. THE SERVICE MAN TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE HAD TO REPLACE SEVERAL OF THE SWITCHES IN THE STEERING COLUMN. I BELIEVE THE COMPANY HAS A DEFECTIVE PART IF THE SERVICE PEOPLE ARE NOTICINT A TREND. I CONTACTED CHEVEROLET AND THE "STARTED A FILE".*AK
HOOD IS CONSTRUCTED OF ALUMINUM AND IS VERY LIGHTWEIGHT.I OPENED THE HOOD AND ATTACHED THE PROP ROD TO KEEP THE HOOD OPEN.WHILE FILLING THE GAS TANK A GUST OF WIND LIFTED THE HOOD OFF THE PROP ROD AND THE HOOD WAS CARRIED REARWARD ON THE HINGES TOWARD THE WINDSHIELD.REAR END OF THE HOOD WAS CAUGHT ON A PLASTIC MOLDING UNDER THE WINDSHIELD AND THE RADIO ANTENNA.REAR CORNERS OF THE HOOD DEFLECTED AND BENT.THE HINGES ARE SPRUNG AND THE HOOD IS OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND NOT IN CONTACT WITH ALL OF THE HINGE MOUNTING.THE DAMAGE OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF FAILURE OF THE HOOD TO BE RESTRAINED.WIRES TO THE UNDERHOOD LIGHT WERE SEVERED.AT THIS TIME AN ASSESSMENT HAS NOT BEEN MADE FOR DAMAGE THAT MAY NOT BE OBVIOUS.THIS WAS REPORTED THAT DAY TO GM AND THE DEALER.THE CAR WAS INSPECTED 12/21 BY SERVICE DEPT (KEN), WHO SAID THAT THIS WAS NOT NORMAL.1ST GM CONTACT WAS MIA PIERCE, GM HOT LINE AT 1-800-222-1020 ON 12/20/01.SHE TOOK REPORT AND SAID SHE WOULD GET BACK AFTER SHE INVESTIGATED.SHE CALLED BACK 12/26/01 AND ASKED IF I HAD BEEN TO THE DEALER.SHE SAID SHE WOULD CALL THE DEALER AND CALL BACK 1/2/02.BRAD ZIMMERMAN, GM HOT LINE CALLED 1/2/02 AND SAID HE HAD REPLACED MS. PIERCE, WOULD INVESTIGATE AND CALL BACK.ZIMMERMAN CALLED BACK 1/10/02 AND STATED GM WOULD NOT MAKE ANY REPAIRS, THIS WAS NOT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND WOULD NOT MAKE MODIFICATIONS.MR. ZIMMERMAN STATED THAT HE MADE THIS DECISION HIMSELF BASED ON INFORMATION RECEIVED FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER(?) AT BASS.MY CONCERN IS THAT THE HOOD CAN BE LIFTED OFF THE PROP ROD BY WIND AND THEN CAN EITHER FALL BACK ONTO THE FRONT OF THE CAR, TRAPPING A PERSON CHECKING UNDER THE HOOD OR FLY BACK BREAKING THE WINDSHIELD.I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND DESIGN FLAW AND THAT MODIFICATIONS NEED TO BE MADE.*AK
THE OUTSIDE MIRRORS ON BOTH SIDES REPOSITION THEMSELVES RANDOMLY. THIS USUALLY OCCURS WHEN THE KEY IS INSERTED IN THE IGNITION. THE DEALER HAS DISCONNECTED THE MEMORY MODULE OF THE COMPUTER AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT WILL OCCATIONALLY REPOSITION ITSELF. THIS USUALLY OCCURS WHEN THE KEY IS PLACED IN THE IGNITION. THE RADIO WILL CHANGE CHANNELS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I AM PRESENTLY ENGAGED IN A TEXAS LEMON LAW PROCEEDING TO ATTEMPT TO GET CHEVROLET TO RE-PURCHASE THE AUTOMOBILE.*AK
CONSUMER IS HAVING DIFFUCULTY SHIFTING VEHICLE FROM 2 WHEEL DRIVE TO 4WD AS WELL AS 4HI, VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE ON 3 OCCASIONS AND DEALER CAN NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM, CONSUMER FEELS THIS IS A TRANSFER CASE PROBLEM. *SLC

THERE WERE NO INCIDENTS TO REPORT AT THIS TIME. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS WARM, THE WAS A NOISE IN THE FRONT END, THE DEALER REPLACED THE AXLE SEAL AND BEARING, THE O2 OXYGEN SENSOR WAS REPLACED. THIS SUV AUTOMATICALLY LOCKS INTO 4-WHEEL DRIVE WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD THE SUV IN THE SERVICE GARAGE 3 TIMES. NOV. 13, DEC 19, AND DEC. 27. ALL THREE TIMES THEY REPLACED THE TRANSFER CASE SWITCH. THE SUV IS STILL LOCKING INTO 4-WHEEL HI WHILE DRIVING. JAN.2 I ALMOST WRECKED BECAUSE IT ENGAGED AT 35-40 MILES PER HOUR WHILE GOING AROUND A BEND. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE SHUT OFF TO DISENGAGE THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM. I HAVE CONTACTED GM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THEY ARE BASICALLY IGNORING IT. PLEASE HELP FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT .*AK

MY TURN SIGNAL SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE FROM THE DAY THAT I BOUGHT MY 2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IN OCTOBER OF 2001. IT TOOK AT LEAST 8 VISITS TO VARIOUS DEALERSHIPS ON LONG ISLAND AND MOUNT VERNON, WASHINGTON (I MOVED SEVERAL TIMES) BEFORE IT WAS REPAIRED SATISFACTORILY IN 2004. I RAISE THIS ISSUE BECAUSE I READ ABOUT GM'S RECALL OF THEIR 2003 AND 2004 AND IT SHOULD ALSO APPLY TO THEIR 2002 VEHICLES
VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING VARIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS SUCH AS INTERMITTENT OPERATION OF THE WIPERS, ELECTRIC SEATS THAT MOVE ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING, ELECTRIC MIRRORS NEVER STAY SET AND MOVE RANDOMLY WHEN DRIVING. COMPUTER MODULE REPLACED 5 TIMES. *TT
SEATBACK DOES NOT LOCK. WHEN MAKING A SUDDEN STOP, SEATBACK HITS CONSUMER IN THE BACK. CONSUMER FEELS THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS.*AK DEALER INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THIS WAS NORMAL FOR LEATHER FRONT DRIVERS SEAT. *JG
THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WHEN APPLIED AT 40 MPH RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT. THE AIR BAGS ALSO FAILED TO DEPLOY DURING THE ACCIDENT. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *MR *NLM
SIDE VIEW MIRRORS DO NOT RETAIN MEMORY POSITION. EVERY TIME YOU UNLOCK THE VEHICLE WITH THE REMOTE UNLOCK FEATURE THE MIRRORS WANDER TO A FAULTY LOCATION. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED CRASHES BECAUSE OF VISIBILITY ISSUES.*AK
PASSENGER'S SEAT BELT RETRACTOR IS LOCKING UP WHILE DRIVING. DEALER NOTIFIED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY OVER TWELVE YEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO REPAIRED THE AIR BAG SENSOR ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFT BROKE AND HE WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO THE PROPER GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE SHIFT CABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.

DOORS RATTLED AND PHYSICALLY MOVED UP AND DOWN WHEN DRIVING OVER BUMPS IN THE ROADWAY. A/C DOES NOT COOL PROPERLY AFTER STOPPING AND STARTING AGAIN. WIND NOISE AROUND DRIVER AND PASSENGER FRONT WINDOWS. FRONT WINDSHIELD MOLDING CAME LOOSE WHILE DRIVING. *PH
SEAT BELT LOCKS PROPERLY ON BRAKE APPLICATION THEN WILL NOT RELEASE AND CONTINUES TO TIGHTEN ON PASSENGER, TO THE POINT WHERE PASSENGER REFUSE TO WEAR THE BELT. ONE REPLACEMENT BELT FAIL TO LOCK UP AT ALL. HAVE BEEN TOLD BY DEALER AND CHEVROLET THAT CHILD RESTRAIN IN BELT IS CAUSING PROBLEM. CHILD RESTRAIN IS ONLY OPERATIONAL IF BELT PULLED OUT ALL THE WAY WHICH IS NOT THE CASE.*AK
THE BRAKE LIGHT SOCKET ON MY 2002 CHEV TRAILBLAZER LT IS NOT SECURE SO THE BRAKE LIGHT DOES NOT WORK CONSISTANTLY. ACTUALLY IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULB NUMEROUS TIMES AND IT HAS WORKED TEMPORARILY BUT NOW IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. THE DEALER FOR THE MANUFACTURER HAS EVEN TOLD ME THEY HAVE A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT BUT DUE TO THE MILEAGE ON MY CAR WILL NOT REPLACE THE DEFECT. THIS PROBLEM WAS OCCURRING LONG BEFORE I REACHED THE MILEAGE BUT I DID NOT KNOW IT WAS A DEFECT. MILEAGE DOES NOT AFFECT THE WEAR AND TEAR ON THIS ITEM. *AK
THERE IS A MALFUNCTION IN ELECTRICIAL SYSTEM WIRING CAUSING ALL BACK LIGHTS TO GO OUT WITHOUT WEAR. . PROBLEM HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. DEALERSHIP REPLACED FUSES, WIRING, ETC.. PROBLEM STILL OCCURRING. *AK
MY SIDE MIRRORS DO NOT ADJUST PROPERLY, MOLDING AROUND THE WINDSHIELD COMES OUT, THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT COMES ON, SEAT BELT LIGHT COMES ON. MANY ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN MADE AND I GET NO COOPERATION FROM CHEVROLET.*JB
REAR SEAT BOTTOM, WHICH FOLDS UP TO LOWER SEAT BACK, IS NOT FULLY SECURED TO VEHICLE. THERE IS ONLY ONE LATCH, WITH OBVIOUS LOCATION FOR A SECOND ONE, WHICH WAS NOT INSTALLED. THIS MAKES LEFT REAR SEAT, NOT PROPERLY SECURED AND COULD BREAK LOOSE IN COLLISION.
INERTIA SENSOR IN PASSENGER SEAT LOCKS BELTS TOO EASILY, SECURING ADULT IN AN UNSAFE CONDITION. *AK
THE MIRRORS ON THE VEHICLE CONTINUALLY READJUST THEIR POSITON. AS A RESULT, THEY ARE NEVER POSITIONED PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE HAS AN AUTOMATIC ADJUSTMENT FEATURE THAT IS MALFUNCTIONING. DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND REPORTED THAT MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT HAD NO SOLUTION. MR
OPERATION OF REMOTE CONTROL TO UNLOCK VEHICLE CAUSES OUTSIDE MIRRORS TO MOVE FROM PRESET POSITION. THIS CREATES A HAZARDOUS SITUATION, ESPECIALLY IS VIEW FROM INSIDE MIRROR IS RESTRICTED. DEALER SAYS NO FIX IS KNOWN.

AFTER CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR RECALL REPAIRS, THERE WAS AN EXTRA GEAR PLACED IN VEHICLE. . WHEN THINKING THAT TRANSMISSION GEAR IS IN DRIVE IT IS ACTUALLY IN NEUTRAL. CONSUMER SPOKE TO DEALER, AND HE TOLD HER " SORRY YOU WILL HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT." *AK
I HAVE A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER AND THE ELECTRIC MIRRORS ARE ERRATIC - THEY WON'T HOLD THEIR MEMORY. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH TRAILBLAZERS. WHEN YOU START CAR YOU DO THINK TO CHECK MIRRORS EVERYTIME AND IT CAN BE DANGEROUS WHEN YOU GO TO CHANGE LANES AND REALIZE THAT THE MIRRORS HAVE LOTS THEIR MEMORY. I HAVE ALMOST HAD NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS DUE TO THIS DEFECT. I FEEL IT SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR TRAILBLAZERS AS THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED BY A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF TRAILBAZER OWNERS. *NM
FRONT WHEEL WELL LINERS ARE NOT CONNECTED TO WELL FRAME PROPERLY. THIS CAUSES DEBRIS TO GET CAUGHT BETWEEN THE LINERS. DEALER/MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED. *AK THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO FIX THE INSECURE WHEEL LINERS PROPERLY AND THE CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED ABOUT A POSSIBLE ACCIDENT. *YH
REAR BRAKE LIGHTS AND SIGNAL LIGHTS ARE CONSTANTLY NOT WORKING. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER ONCE TO GET THE ENTIRE SYSTEM REPLACED. WITHIN A MONTH THE LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING AGAIN. *AK
