2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER AUTOMOBILE DISPUTE SETTLEMENT PROGRAM.*MR *CB
VEHICLE STALLS WITH NO ENGINE RE-START.*MR THE CONSUMER IS REQUESTING THAT THE ENGINE BE REPLACED IN THERE TRAIL BLAZER BECAUSE OF THE STALLING IN THE ENGINE, BEFORE THIS SITUATION OCCURS RESULTING IN INJURY OR DEATH. PLEASE REVIEW AND CONSIDER REQUEST. *CB
CONSUMER WAS EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE AFTER IT OVER TURNED TWICE AS A RESULT OF DEFECTIVE STEERING. *PH WHILE DRIVING THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS GOING OFF THE ROAD TO THE RIGHT. THE CONSUMER OVERCORRECTED THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE CAR SUBSEQUENTLY WENT TOO FAR OVER TO THE LEFT WITH THE RIGHT SIDE FRONT AND REAR WHEELS IN THE AIR. THE CONSUMER THEN CORRECTED TO THE RIGHT AND THE LEFT SIDE TIRES CAME OFF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE THEN WENT INTO A SKID OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STRUCK AN EMBANKMENT. THE VEHICLE STRUCK AN EMBANKMENT AND THE CONSUMER'S CHEST HIT THE STEERING WHEEL. THE IMPACT BENT THE STEERING WHEEL AND RENDERED THE CONSUMER UNCONSCIOUS. THE VEHICLE THE OVERTURNED 1-2 TIMES AND THE CONSUMER WAS EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER SUSTAINED RIB FRACTURES, JOINT SEPARATION, UPPER AND LOWER BACK INJURIES. *NM
VEHICLE'S STEERING AND BRAKES SUDDENLY WENT OUT.*MR WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH THE VEHICLE'S STEERING AND BRAKES SUDDENLY FAILED WHICH CAUSED LOSS OF CONTROL. THE VEHICLE SPUN AROUND ONCE AND HIT THE HIGHWAY DIVIDER HEAD ON. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES FROM THE ACCIDENT AND WAS TREATED FRO SEVERAL MONTHS BY A DOCTOR. *NM
2002 TRAILBLAZER BRAKES FAILED, ROTORS WERE RUSTED. *TS THE MOTOR WAS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY ON THE DRIVERS SEAT. THE SEAT WOULD NOT LIFT UP TO INCREASE THE HEIGHT AND WAS MAKING A VERY LOUD NOISE. *JB
CONSUMER RECEIVED TWO RECALLS FOR THE 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER FOR WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND TAIL LIGHTS. MECHANIC FIXED THE TAIL LIGHTS BUT DID NOT REPAIR THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS. *KB THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER HE WOULD RECEIVE NEW BLADES AND THAT WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER THOSE BLADES DIDN'T WORK ANY BETTER. *JB
2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER ELECTRICAL FIRE IN THE FUSE BOX UNDER THE HOOD AND HAS BEEN REPLACED. LOWER BALL JOINTS HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THEY WORE OUT THE TIRES. *KB *JB
CONSUMER STATES THERE IS A MATERIAL DEFECT UNDER THE SEAT WHERE THE JACK IS STORED, CONSUMER NOTICED SCREWS MISSING FROM THE TRIM AROUND THE FRONT TIRES, CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT ALTHOUGH THERE WERE HOLES, THERE WERE NO SCREWS TO FIT THE HOLES. *SLC
CONSUMER STATES VEHICLE EXPERIENCES A CHRONIC PROBLEM WHERE THE 4WD SYSTEM SWITCHES BETWEEN 2HI, A4WD, AND 4HI MODES ON ITS OWN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, THE INDICATOR LIGHTS ON THE ROTARY SELECTOR BLINK, THERE IS A SLIGHT JERK FELT IN THE DRIVE TRAIN AS THE TRANSFER CASE SHIFTS, AND THE SERVICE 4WD LIGHT ILLUMINATES, DEALER CAN NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. *SLC
POWER MIRRORS MALFUNCTIONED; MIRRORS WILL AUTOMATICALLY MOVE THEMSELVES. *AK DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE. SERVICE 4WD LIGHT DISPLAYED ON CLUSTER AND 4WD SWITCH IS INOPERATIVE, VIBRATION IN FLOORBOARD AT 55-60 MPH WHEEN PRESSING GAS, DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE, SMALL DARK FLUID LEAK FROM REAR OF VEHICLE, DEALER REPLACED DIFFERENTIAL GASKET. *TT
CONSUMER STATED WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN 4-WHEEL DRIVE MODE, THE TRANSFER CASE ON 4HI AND 4LO LIT UP, AND THE SERVICE 4WD LIGHT IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ALSO LIT UP, CONSUMER MANUALLY TURNED THE SWITCH FROM A4WD SETTING TO 2HI AND BACK TO A4WD, AND THE A4WD AND LIGHT LIT UP ALONE, THE SERVICE 4WD LIGHT WENT OFF WHEN THE IGNITION WAS SWITCHED OFF, AND DID NOT COME ON WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AGAIN.*MJ
WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE COMPLETELY STALLS WITHOUT WARNING. CAUSE UNKNOWN DEALER CONTACTED.*AK *JB
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE PEDAL GOES COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR BEFORE STOPPING. THIS HAPPENS EVERYTIME THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. DEALER SAYS ITS NORMAL. NLM.
DRIVER'S SIDE MIRRORS MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY THEMSELVES WHILE DRIVING. HAS TROUBLE ADJUSTING MIRRORS TO SEE. DEALER CONTACTED. *AK
CONSUMER STATED THE JACK DOES NOT WORK ON VEHICLE. IT WILL NOT LOWER THE SPARE TIRE DOWN. TOOK TO DEALER AND DEALER INDICATED NOT THE RIGHT JACK FOR THAT VEHICLE.
IDLE WILL STICK TO 2500 RPM'S DUE TO MALFUNCTION WITHIN COMPUTER. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION.*AK
AT NORMAL SPEEDS VEHICLE WOULD JERK. DEALER INSPECTED VEHICLE ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, AND DETERMINED THAT FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SWITCH AND TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.*AK
CONSUMER STATES THE SPRING RETRACTOR DOES NOT ALWAYS PULL THE BELT COMPLETELY CAUSING THE DOOR TO CLOSE ON THE BELT. IN THE EXTENDED POSITION THE SPRING DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH TORQUE TO RETRACT THE WEIGHT OF THE BELT AND THE CLIP. DEALER REPLACED THE BELTS AND RETRACTOR ASSEMBLIES AND STATED THAT IT WAS DESIGNED AS NOT TO PUT TOO MUCH PRESSURE ON THE CHEST OF THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER. *TT
MIRRORS RANDOMLY MOVING THEMSELVES -- ACTUATORS, SWITCHES AND MODULES REPLACED MANY TIMES .. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER'S REPRESENTATIVE CANNOT REMEDY -- SERVICE 4WD LIGHT DISPLAYS ON DASH... SCAN CODES USUALLY INDICATE 4WD DRIVE FAILURE RELATED TO MULTIPLE SENSORS AND SWITCHES
THE HORN DOES NOT SOUND WHEN DEPRESSING THE BUTTON. *JG
THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT RETRACTOR IS DESIGNED TO LOCK AND NOT RELEASE IF THE SHOULDER BELT IS PULLED ALL THE WAY OUT. THIS CREATES A SAFTEY HAZARD. IF THE PASSENGER HAS TO REACH FOR SOMETHING THAT CASUSES THE SHOULDER BELT TO EXTEND COMPLETLY, YOU THEN HAVE TO UNBUCKLE THE SEAT BELT, RETRACT IT, THEN REBUCKLE THE BELT. IF THIS OCCURS WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION, THE PASSENGER IS OPEN TO INJURY SHOULD AN IMPACT OCCUR AT THE TIME THE BELT IS UNBUCKLED. IF THE BELT IS NOT UNBUCKLED TO RELEASE THE RETRACTOR, IT IS EXTREMEMLY UNCOMFORTABLE TO SIT IN THE SEAT AS THE BELT WILL PREVENT ANY FORWARD MOVEMENT. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A FLAW IN THE DESIGN OF THE SEAT BELT AND NOT A FEATURE AS GENERAL MOTORS DESCRIBES IT. THIS OCCURS ON ANY GM SEAT WHERE THE BELT IS INTEGRATED WITH THE SEAT RATHER THAN MOUNTED TO THE FRAMEWORK OF THE CAR.*AK

CONSUMER STATES THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WILL LOCK UP ON THE THEM WHEN DRIVING .CONSUMER DOES NOT LIKE THE DESIGN OF THE RETRACTOR. MR
THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IN WHICH THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILED. AS A RESULT THE ODOMETER, GAS GAUGES, SPEEDOMETER ETC WERE INOPERATIVE. THE VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. *SCC *NLM
THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH MEMORY MIRRORS, THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE MIRRORS NEVER RETURN WHERE THEY WERE LAST SET, THE THE DRIVER ENTERS THE CAR THE DRIVER HAS TO ADJUST THE MIRRORS EACH TIME. *SCC
I AM WANTING TO REPORT A PROBLEM IN LABELING ON THE CENTER POSITION OF THE BACK SEAT. IT HAS A LABEL SHOWING YOU CAN PUT A CHILD SEAT THERE. HOWEVER THE MANUAL SAYS YOU CAN NOT. I AM A CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY TECHNICIAN AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE IF THIS LABELING COULD BE CORRECTED AS PARENTS WILL TRY TO PUT A CHILD SEAT IN THAT POSITION AND IT SHOULD NOT BE ACCORDING TO THE VEHICLE MANUAL. FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND EXPLAINATION. I HAVE ALSO TAKEN A PHOTO OF THE LABEL AND CAN GET IT TO YOU ALONG WITH THE MANUAL SHOWING NOT TO PUT A CHILD SEAT IN THAT POSITION. THE MANUAL SAYS THE RESTRAINT WONT WORK PROPERLY. AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATES INTERMITTENTLY. WHEN LIGHT IS ON AIRBAG MAY NOT COME OUT IN AN EMERGENCY. *AK
CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE 03V096000 SUBJECT: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER ON 6/11/2003 AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT. ON THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT (6/18/2003) CONSUMER CALLED, AND THE DEALER STATED NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE.*AK
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT STARTING PROBLEMS. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A RECALL #03V096000 REPAIRS CONCERNING INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER IN MAY OF 2003. VEHICLE IS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM ,AND IS CURRENTLY WITH THE DEALER (FRED BEANS CHEVROLET). *AK
WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR ACCELERATING FROM PARK VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY SWITCHES FROM 2 WHEEL DRIVE TO 4 WHEEL LOW SETTING WITHOUT SELECTING THAT OPTION. THIS HAS HAPPENED SIX TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR. THE DEALER COULD NOT DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WILL BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER AGAIN ON 7/10/2003. *AK
PROBLEMS WITH 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE HEADLAMPS WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING. THE 4WD LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASH BOARD, WHILE DRIVING, THE GEAR SWITCHED TO 4WD WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO JERK.*MR *TS. ALSO ON 2 OCCASIONS THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT THE GEAR FROM PARK TO DRIVE. *JB
WHILE DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED AT 40 MPH BRAKES ENGAGED WITHOUT BEING DEPRESSED WHEN VEHICLE WENT THROUGH A PUDDLE OF WATER. IN NORMAL DRIVING CONDITION INTERMITTENTLY WHEN BRAKES ARE DEPRESSED VEHICLE HESITATES TO STOP. THIS RESULTS IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALERSHIP CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. CAUSE UNKNOWN.*AK

THE SEAT BELTS DID THE SAME THING. THE HEIGHT OF THE SEAT BELT ISN'T ADJUSTABLE AND CUTS ACROSS YOUR THROAT, DEPENDING ON YOU SIZE (DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE). CONSUMER HAD TO PURCHASE SPECIAL SEAT BELT ADJUSTERS TO MAKE THE BELTS WEARABLE AND MORE IMPORTANTLY-SAFE. CONSUMER HAD RECENTLY DISCOVERED THE TIGHTNESS OF THE REAR SEAT BELTS. *PH
THE VEHICLE RAN ROUGH AND STALLED WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE SEVEN TIMES BUT HAS NOT BEEN SUCCESSFUL. *AK
4-WHEEL DRIVE FAILED CAUSING VEHICLE TO GO FROM 4-WHEEL DRIVE TO 2-WHEEL DRIVE WITHOUT CHANGING THE SELECTOR. DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, SO THEY CAN'T FIX IT.*AK
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES VEHICLE PULSATED. OWNER DISCOVERED THAT THE ROTORS WERE WARPED. *AK
WHILE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING 25-28 MPH VEHICLE WAS T-BONED FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE AT ESTIMATED SPEED OF 30 MPH. UPON IMPACT, FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. *AK
