SPEEDOMETER OF 2003 TRAILBLAZER FAILED, READING 2-3X ACTUAL SPEED. OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. INTERNET SEARCH REVEALS THIS A COMMON PROBLEM. *TR
GAUGES AND SPEEDOMETER ON 2003 TRAILBLAZER QUIT WORKING. PROBLEM EVENTUALLY CAUSED PROBLEMS TO THE WHOLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.. HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT, ALL DASH LIGHTS QUIT WORKING AND ELECTRIC POWER TO ENGINE EVENTUALLY SHUTDOWN WHILE DRIVING. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALER. IF YOU LOOK ON THE INTERNET THIS IS A VERY COMMON AND DANGEROUS PROBLEM FOR TRAILBLAZERS, BUT NO RECALL? *TR
I HAVE A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LT. A FEW WEEKS AGO I FOUND OUT MY 4X4 WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. AFTER ONLY DRIVING MY BLAZER 3 TIMES, AT HIGHWAY SPEED (70), I HEARD A VERY LOUD KNOCK IN THE FRONT END SHORTLY FOLLOWED BY CONTINUOUS KNOCKING AND VERY QUICKLY LOST CONTROL OF THE BRAKES. DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEING ON MY SIDE I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF OF THE HIGHWAY AND PLACE THE CAR IN PARK AND HAVE IT TOWED TO THE GARAGE. UPON REVIEW OF THE FRONT END IT WAS DETERMINED THE FRONT END DIFFERENTIAL LITERALLY BLEW APART. MY TRAILBLAZER ONLY HAS 84,000 MILES AND I NOW HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE FRONT AXLE. MOST LIKELY AT A COST OF AT LEAST $2,000.00. THIS REPAIR INCLUDES THE COST OF AN AXLE FROM A SALVAGE YARD...NOT A NEW ONE AND ENTAILS AT LEAST 16 HOURS OF LABOR. WITH REVIEW OF ARTICLES POSTED TO AUTO SITES ON THE INTERNET, THIS IS A VERY WIDE SPREAD ISSUE WITH TRAILBLAZERS. WHY IS GM NOT STEPPING UP TO THE PLATE AND ADDRESSING THESE ISSUES? I WAS LUCKY THIS MORNING. MY MECHANIC DOES NOT KNOW HOW I WAS NOT IN A SERIOUS WRECK SEEING THAT THIS HAPPENED DURING MORNING RUSH HOUR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY STOPPED. THE TACHOMETER BEGAN TO RISE BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD OR REVERSE. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE SUN GEAR FAILED AND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HE CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 65,828.
ONE OR MORE OF THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INTERMITTENTLY MALFUNCTIONS. THE FIRST INDICATION WAS THE GAS GAUGE, WHICH WHEN THE GAS TANK WAS FILLED, THE NEEDLE POINTED STRAIGHT DOWN, THEN WOULD CHANGE TO RANDOM AREAS ON THE GAUGE. I THOUGHT THIS WAS A RESULT OF THE FLOAT IN THE GAS TANK STICKING, UNTIL THE NEEDLE POINTED TO DIFFERENT AREAS OF THE GAUGE AT DIFFERENT TIMES; NO RHYME OR REASON, AND WAS NOT CONSISTENT WITH A "STICKING FLOAT". THEN THE TACHOMETER WOULD READ 5,000 RPM WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, AND 7,000 RPM WHEN GOING 35 MPH, AND WOULD POINT STRAIGHT DOWN AT OTHER TIMES. THEN THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD READ VERY RANDOM SPEEDS, NEVER CONSISTENT, AND SOMETIMES WILL READ OVER 120 MPH. THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE READS DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES, AND THE NEEDLE SOMETIMES POINTS STRAIGHT DOWN. THOUGH THESE MALFUNCTIONS ARE RANDOM AMONG THE GAUGES, THEY ARE CONSTANT AS A WHOLE; ON A DAILY BASIS. ALL OF THESE MALFUNCTIONS COULD BE A SAFETY CONCERN. I NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE, WHICH COULD BE DANGEROUS IF I RAN OUT WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT 70 MPH, THE SPEEDOMETER IS INACCURATE, WHICH COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, WHETHER TRAVELING TOO FAST OR TOO SLOW, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE IS INACCURATE, WHICH COULD CAUSE SEVERE BURNS IF THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED, BUT FAILED TO REFLECT THAT ON THE GAUGE, AND SIMILAR SAFETY CONCERNS WITH THE TACHOMETER, WHICH COULD ALSO RESULT IN SEVERE ENGINE DAMAGE. I HAVE ALSO RESEARCHED THIS COMPLAINT, AND REALIZED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY OF THE SAME COMPLAINT SUBMITTED HERE, AND TO THE MANUFACTURER. I AM VERY SURPRISED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM ON THE 2002 MODEL, BUT NOT ON THE 2003 MODEL, SINCE IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM, AND BECAUSE SO MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED ABOUT IT. *TR
AFTER A FREEZE THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER STOPPED WORKING. AFTER DOING RESEARCH I FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS VERY COMMON. *TR
I OWN A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER XLT, WHEN I FILL THE TANK UP AND PARK ON A HILL THE TANK LEAKS GAS OUT FROM THE TOP OF THE TANK OR THE TOP OF THE CUP THAT CONNECTS TO AND GOES INTO THE TANK. I HAVE A STEEP DRIVEWAY AND NOW I NOTICE THAT I LEAK GAS WHEN I AM ON A FULL TANK AND PARKED ON A STEEP HILL...I HAVE 3 BOYS RANGING FROM 2, 4 AND 14 AND THEY ALL SMELLED AND SAW THE GAS. *TR
SPEEDOMETER AND OIL PRESSURE GAUGE NOT WORKING. WAS TOLD BY MY MECHANIC THAT I NEED A NEW CONTROL PANEL CLUSTER. *TR
I OWN A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. DURING A STRETCH OF SUB ZERO TEMPERATURES, THE SPEEDOMETER IS CONSISTENTLY SHOWING INCORRECT SPEEDS. WHEN THE TRUCK IS TURNED OFF, THE SPEEDO SHOWS 60MPH. CHECKING WITH LOCAL MECHANICS, THEY ADVISE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT THEY SEE WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL. THEY INFORM ME THAT NUMEROUS RECALLS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE TAHOE AND SILVERADO FOR THIS SAME ISSUE IN THE 03 MODEL. I HAVE LODGED A COMPLAINT WITH CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE. CURRENTLY, NO RECALL IS IN EFFECT FOR THIS DEFECT (MY TRUCK JUST TURNED 80,000 MILES). THE ESTIMATE I'VE RECEIVED TO CORRECT THIS DEFECT IS AROUND $400 TO $600 DEPENDING ON WHO SERVICES THE VEHICLE. A VEHICLE WITH THIS TYPE OF DEFECT IS UNSAFE AND UNFIT FOR MY FAMILY TO DRIVE. MIS-JUDGING SPEED, ESPECIALLY DURING WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS COULD LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY OR EVEN DEATH (I LIVE IN THE MIDWEST). I AM ALSO AT AN INCREASED RISK FOR RECEIVING SPEEDING TICKETS. HAD CAR ACCIDENT WAS HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AND HIT A RETAINING WALL GOING ABOUT 45 MILES AN HOUR AND AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY 2003 TRAIL BLAZER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING 45-50 MPH IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A RETAINER WALL. SHE STATED THAT OTHER PASSING VEHICLES PUSHED HER VEHICLE INTO THE RETAINER WALL. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. SHE WAS ALSO INJURED WHEN THE CRASH OCCURRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD TAKE PICTURES OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 82,000. THE CONSUMER STATED IT WAS A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT. UPDATED 04/07/10.*JB
LAST DEC I WAS DRIVING AND MY TACHOMETER BEGAN READING HIGHER THAN EXPECTED. WHEN I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE TO REFUEL, THE TACHOMETER CONTINUED TO READ ~3000 RPM. MY VEHICLE HAD APPROX. 38K MILES ON IT AT THE TIME. I RESEARCHED THIS SYMPTOM AND FOUND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT WAS ADDRESSED BY A RECALL ON OTHER GM VEHICLES USING THE SAME INSTRUMENT CLUSTERS. ONE SOLUTION IS TO REMOVE A FUSE AND THEN TURN ON THE IGNITION SWITCH. THIS RESETS THE CLUSTER. HOWEVER, THIS IS TEMPORARY AND THE PROBLEM SOON RETURNS. ACCORDING TO NUMEROUS INTERNET FORUMS, IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL MORE CRITICAL INSTRUMENTS (SPEEDOMETER, FUEL GAUGE, ETC.) EXHIBIT THE SAME ERRATIC SYMPTOMS. *TR
2003 TRAILBLAZER LT. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON FOR ABOUT A 3 WEEKS. BROUGHT VEHICLE TO SERVICE AT DEALERSHIP, WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY FUEL TANK BECAUSE THERE WAS A LEAK IN MY FUEL TANK AND IT SHOULD BE REPLACED. COST WOULD BE ABOUT $1100.00. I HAVE ALSO REPLACED MY KICK PANEL AT LEAST 6 TIMES. EVERYTIME I HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET FOR SOMETHING THAT IS POORLY MADE BY THE MANUFACTURE. I KNOW OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS SITUATION FOR US, WE NEED YOUR HELP. I DRIVE MY VEHICLE EVERYDAY AND ONLY HAVE ABOUT 63,000 MILES, MY VEHICLE IS LIKE NEW AND I AM THE ONLY DRIVER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 50 MPH, THERE WAS AN UNUSUAL GRINDING COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHIN FIVE MONTHS AFTER REPAIRS. THE DEALER ADVISED THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE TIRES. THE DEALER WOULD NOT MAKE REPAIRS UNDER THE VEHICLE WARRANTY, STATING THE CONTACT VOIDED THE WARRANTY BY INSTALLING USED TIRES ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS IN AGREEMENT WITH THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

MY CHEVY TRAILBLAZER 2003 EXT SPEEDOMETER HAS BROKE. APPARENTLY, THERE IS AN EPIDEMIC PROBLEM WITH TRAILBLAZERS. GM HAS RECALLED ALL VEHICLES IN THIS CLASS EXCEPT THE TRAILBLAZER. WHY?????????? *TR
I HAVE (ONE OF MANY) A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WITH A BAD INSTRUMENT GAUGE CLUSTER. CURRENTLY, MY RPM, SPEEDOMETER, GAS, OIL PRESSURE GAUGES DO NOT WORK AT ALL. FROM MY RESEARCH, I HAVE LEARNED THAT GM HAS THIS PROBLEMS ON ALMOST ALL OF THEIR OTHER TRUCKS WHICH THEY HAVE A RECALL ON. FOR SOME REASON, THE TRAILBLAZER DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER WITH APPROXIMATELY 83,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS ON THE WAY TO WORK THIS MORNING AND MY SPEEDOMETER OUT OF THE BLUE JUST STARTED READING THE WRONG SPEED. I WAS DOING 35 MPH AND IT SHOWED I WAS DOING 120MPH. THE NEEDLE THEN SHOT STRAIGHT DOWN AND NOW IT STARTS OFF AT AROUND 90-100 MPH MARK AND STILL ROTATES CLOCKWISE. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND COULD LEAD TO THE SAFETY OF ME, MY OCCUPANTS, AND OTHERS. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS $350.00 FOR PARTS AND LABOR, THAT IS OUTRAGEOUS SINCE THIS IS TOTALLY OUT OF MY CONTROL, THIS IS NOT A PART THAT SOMEBODY SHOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR. 2003 CHEVY TRAIL BLAZER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NON OPERATIONAL: ALL GAUGES ON THE DASHBOARD PANEL DO NOT WORK! *TR
MY 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER SEEMS TO HAVE A CLUSTER MOTOR PROBLEM. IT STARTED LATE LAST YEAR, THE SPEEDOMETER WAS ERRATIC, FAILS, STARTS WORKING AGAIN. THE FUEL GAUGE HAS STOPPED WORKING ALTOGETHER . I BROUGHT THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED AND THEY SAID THEY WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CLUSTER. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE CHEVY TAHOES, SUBURBANS, AVALANCHE AND OTHERS HAVE BEEN RECALLED ON THIS, WHY NOT THE TRAILBLAZER...SAME ENGINE, DIFFERENT MODEL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. CHEVY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND THEY KNOW THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM , THEY JUST REFUSE TO ADMIT IT. INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILING ON 2003 CHEVROLET TRAIL BLAZER, RPM, 3-6 MONTHS AGO, FUEL GAUGE 2-3 WEEKS AGO; UNIDENTIFIABLE LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF. *TR
THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS COMING ON AND WE HAD DIAGNOSTIC DONE AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE GAS CAP. WE REPLACED SEVERAL TIME. EVERYTIME I DROVE OR RODE IN MY VEHICLE I SMELLED GAS AND I WOULD GET A HORRIBLE HEADACHE. MY HUSBAND TOOK MY VEHICLE TO GET AN EMISSION TEST DONE WE WERE TOLD THE FUEL TANK WAS CRACKED AT THE NECK AND LEAKING GAS. WE HAD IT REPAIRED NOV 6, 2009 AFTER WE HAD BEEN TOLD OF THIS. THE SHOP THAT REPAIRED MY VEHICLE SAID THEY WERE SHOCKED IT HAD NOT CAUGHT ON FIRE. THERE WAS EVIDENCE THIS HAD BEEN GOING ON FOR A WHILE. PROBABLY WHEN WE WERE TOLD THE GAS CAP WAS LOOSE IS WHEN IT STARTED, AND THAT HAD BEEN OVER A YEAR BEFORE. *TR
TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK CAUSED BY CORROSION SIMILAR TO TSB #PIT-4722. FLUID SEEN ON DRIVEWAY WHEN CAR PARKED. FLUID ON UNDERCARRIAGE. TRANSMISSION OIL COOLANT LINES WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT APPROXIMATELY $500 COST. DESIGN ISSUE FOR PART TO CORRODE AFTER ONLY 6 YEARS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER WHICH WAS PURCHASED USED IN 2009. THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR FAILED AND THE WIPER WASHER WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT HAD TO DISENGAGE THE WASHER BY DISCONNECTING IT FROM THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL; HOWEVER, THE REPAIRS WERE DONE WITH THE PREVIOUS OWNER (SEE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 04V046000); THEREFORE, THE MANUFACTURER NO LONGER HAD ANY LIABILITY FOR THE VEHICLE. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO DATE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNDER 118,000.
RE: SPECIAL POLICY ADJUSTMENT-FUEL TANK INLET CHECK VALVE FRACTURE #05012. ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO I STARTED TO SMELL GASOLINE IN A VERY STRONG WAY IN MY 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT AND HAD THIS CHECKED OUT AND WAS TOLD THAT MY GASOLINE TANK NECK WAS CRACKED. THIS APPARENTLY IS A RECALL BUT I WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE HAD TOO MANY MILES AND WOULD NOT RECEIVE A NEW GAS TANK. I HAVE 3 CHILDREN AND THE SMELL WAS VERY OVERWHELMING THIS HAS TO PRESENT SOME TYPE OF DANGER WHILE DRIVING. MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND MY AUTO MECHANIC CAN OBTAIN A GAS TANK FROM A DEALERSHIP FOR $600. THE TOTAL COST OF REPAIR IS $800. I AM FILING A COMPLAINT AGAINST THE 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE MECHANIC BECAUSE TO SEE WHY THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. HE STATED IN THAT IS WAS THE EVAP SYSTEM, MEANING GASES ARE LEAKING FROM MY CAR. HE STATED IN THAT ITS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE MODELS BECAUSE THE HOSE ATTACHED TO MY GAS TANK CAUSES THE RIM TO CRACK AND GAS LEAKS THROUGH THE CRACK EVERYTIME I FILL UP MY CAR. I INQUIRED HAVING IT FIXED. IN SOME MANY WORDS HE STATED THE ONLY THING I COULD DO IS TO REPLACE THE GAS TANK, BUT PART (THE HOSE) HAS NOT BEEN MODIFIED FROM THE ORIGINAL, SO BASICALLY I WILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. HE SHOWED ME WHERE THE GAS TANK WAS MOIST FROM GAS LEAKING. I AM FORTUNATE TO HAVE NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT YET. I OWN A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LS MODEL. THE GAS TANKS LEAKS WHERE THE FILLER NECK CONNECTS TO THE TANK. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE ON 2002,2003 AND 2004 MODELS. I ASKED GM FOR ASSISTANCE WITH THE TANK REPLACEMENT ($1400.00) BECAUSE THIS IS A WELL KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. REQUEST WAS DENIED BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A HISTORY WITH GM DEALERSHIPS AS IN PREVIOUS PURCHASES. MY VIN NUMBER DID NOT FALL INTO THE SPECIAL AUTHORIZATION THAT WAS ISSUED IN 2007 FOR THIS ISSUE. *TR
I AM THE OWNER OF A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT, I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW FROM GM. IN THE LAST YEAR MY SES LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO AN AUTO PARTS STORE AND THEY ANALYZED MY VEHICLE TO READ THE CODE CAUSING THE SES LIGHT TO COME ON. I HAD A LEAK IN MY FUEL TANK EMISSIONS SYSTEM. THEY RECOMMENDED I REPLACE MY FUEL CAP TO FIX THE PROBLEM. OVER THE PAST YEAR AND AFTER REPLACING THE FUEL CAP, THE PROBLEM WOULD GO AWAY FOR A MONTH OR SO AND THEY REOCCUR. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR A SYSTEM CHECK OF THE FUEL SYSTEM. MY MECHANIC PERFORMED A SMOKE TEST ON THE FUEL SYSTEM, THEY TOLD ME THEY FOUND A FRACTURE ON A WELD WITH THE FUEL TANK, FURTHERMORE THEY SAID THERE WAS PROBLEMS WITH THE CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZERS WITH FAULTY WELDS ON THE FUEL TANK. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND AUTO FORUM BOARD STATING GM HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR A WHILE. TALKING WITH A CO-WORKER ABOUT MY PROBLEM, HE STATED HE OWNED A 2003 TRAILBLAZER AND RECALLED RECEIVING A NOTICE FROM GM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, HE GAVE ME A COPY OF HIS NOTICE WHERE THE NOTICE TALKS ABOUT FRACTURE OF A WELD ON THE FUEL TANK AND CHEVROLET PROVIDING OWNERS WITH AN EXTENSION OF REPAIRS FOR 10 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP OR 150,000 MILES. I NEVER RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM CHEVROLET ABOUT THIS PROGRAM. I CALLED THE CHEVROLET CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER, WHERE I TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED WITH MY VEHICLE; I ALSO TOLD THEM I HAD 167,000 MILE ON MY VEHICLE. THEY TOLD ME THEY FIRST NEEDED TO VERIFY THE CRACK BY A GM DEALERSHIP MECHANIC. THEY ALSO TOLD ME I HAD TO PAY FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM TO BE CHECK AND THERE MIGHT BE SOME CONSIDERATION FOR THEM TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR IF IT WAS INDEED A CRACK IN THE FUEL SYSTEM. THE CRACK WAS CONFIRMED BY THE CHEVROLET DEALER, BUT THEY TOLD ME SINCE MY VEHICLE HAD OVER 150,000 MILES THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE REPAIR OF MY VEHICLE. THE FUEL TANK IS A STATIC SYSTEM, IT SHOULD NOT WEAR OUT, I FEEL GM DESIGNED A FAULTY PRODUCT AND SHOULD REPAIR THIS CRACK AT THEIR COST. PLEASE HELP ME. *TR
2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. ALL GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER HAVE STOPPED WORKING. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH NUMEROUS MAKES AND MODELS, MANY OF WHICH HAVE BEEN RECALLED - THE TRAILBLAZER HAS NOT. GM WILL NOT TAKE THE INITIATIVE TO MAKE THIS RIGHT ON THEIR OWN. THE CONTACT MADE SEVERAL UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND OBSERVED THAT THE "EMPTY FUEL" INDICATOR WAS DISPLAYED ON THE FUEL GAUGE. WHEN THE ENGINE RESTARTED, THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED THE ACCURATE READING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT HAS CONCERNS OF THE SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISK. THE VIN WAS REJECTED FROM THE SYSTEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,200. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 71,220.

THE FAILURE RESULTS IN A LOSS OF ACCELERATION ABILITY, THE NOISE LEVEL IS A CONSIDERABLE DISTRACTION TO MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS, AND THE PENDING FAILURE OF THE COOLING SYSTEM COULD LEAD TO UNSAFE ROADSIDE CONDITIONS. *TR
ANTIFREEZE IS LEAKING FROM REAR HEATER CORE. CAUSED MY ENGINE TO OVERHEAT. FLUID LEAKS AT A FAIRLY RAPID RATE. IN DOING RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THEY CHANGED THE HEATER CORE SO THIS REPAIR COSTS AN EXTRA $500 FOR PARTS TO RETROFIT A NEW HEATER CORE. IF THERE IS A FLAW IN THE DESIGN WHY ISN'T THIS A RECALL? I HAVE OWNED A 2003 CHEVROLET TB LTZ AND FOR THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS I HAVE BEEN SMELLING A GAS LEAK SOMEWHERE BUT I COULD NOT IDENTIFY WHERE. RECENTLY I FOUND THAT IT WAS LEAKING AROUND THE NECK OF THE PUMP WHERE IT WAS CORRODED AND THE SEAL FAILED. NOW EVERYTHING WORK WELL INCLUDING THE GAS PUMP AND I HAVE BEEN READING THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN EXISTING ON 2002 TRAILBLAZERS AND LATER. MY TB HAS 106,000 MILES ON IT AND UNFORTUNATELY OUT OF THE WARRANTLY PERIOD BUT THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. I AM JUST GLAD THE TRUCK DID NOT START A FIRE, ESPECIALLY WHEN MY FAMILY WAS IN IT OR IT WAS PARKED IN MY ATTACHED GARAGE. HAS THERE BEEN ANY RECALL ON THE GAS TANK. GOT A FLAT TIRE ON THE ROAD. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO DROP THE SPARE FROM THE BACK BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE IT WAS FROZEN IN PLACE. CABLE HOLDING SPARE WAS FROZEN WITH RUST. THIS PART FAILURE IS DANGEROUS TO PEOPLE OF SIMILAR VEHICLE MAKES BECAUSE IT MUST BE HAPPENING TO OTHERS. SIDE MIRRORS DO NOT STAY IN POSITION MEMORIZED FOR DRIVER. VERY UNSAFE WHEN YOU GO TO CHANGE LANES AND THE MIRRORS ARE POINTING TO THE SKY OR GROUND. THE DEALER HAS REPROGRAMMED THE REMOTES, BUT THERE IS NO SOLUTION. DRIVER MUST ADJUST MIRRORS EVERY TIME YOU TURN ON VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM IS MUCH WORSE IF THERE IS A TEMPERATURE CHANGE. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 5.5 YEARS WITH THIS VEHICLE. OTHER DRIVERS REPORT THE SAME ISSUE WITH TRAILBLAZER. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL FOR THIS? MY 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER'S SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK. THOUGHT I WAS GOING 65MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND OTHER CARS WERE ZIPPING PAST ME TURNED OUT I WAS ONLY GOING 51 MPH. I PULLED OVER AND STOPPED AND THE SPEEDOMETER WAS JUST STUCK ON 51. I LOOKED ON-LINE TO SEE IF ANYBODY HAD, SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND TO MY SURPRISE THERE WERE 100'S IF NOT 1000'S OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME PROBLEMS. CONTACTED CHEVY AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT A "SAFETY HAZARD", HOW CAN NOT KNOWING YOUR EXACT SPEED ALL THE TIME NOT BE A SAFETY HAZARD??? GRANTED THERE WERE NO INCIDENTS BUT EVENTUALLY SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN, NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT NOT KNOWING YOUR SPEED COULD CAUSE YOU TO GET PULLED OVER BY THE POLICE. IT WILL COST CONSUMERS BETWEEN 400-600 DOLLARS TO FIX, WHEN IT IS A MANUFACTURES DEFECT, TO WHOM WE THE TAXPAYERS JUST BAILED OUT. CHEVY SHOULD RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM AS THEY HAVE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM FOR OTHER MODELS. THEY KNOW THE PROBLEM BUT SINCE THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS THEY DO NOT WANT TO COVER THE COSTS. DRIVING ALONG AND SPEEDOMETER SHOWED ALMOST 100MPH. AFTER TURNING OFF THE ENGINE THE SPEED READ ABOUT 30MPH. CALL THE CHEVROLET DEALER AND THEY STATED THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH GM, AND WELL KNOWN WITH THE TRAILBLAZERS. THEY STATED THAT IT WAS THE CLUSTER PANEL AND GM WAS REPAIRING ALMOST ALL THE VEHICLES BUT THE TRAILBLAZER. MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THE TRAILBLAZER TO COLLEGE AND THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME WHICH IS A DANGER NOT KNOWING WHAT SPEED YOU ARE GOING. THE DEALER SAID GM IS REFUSING TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS DUE TO SO MANY TRAILBLAZERS WITH THIS PROBLEM AND IT WOULD COST UP TO $1500 TO REPAIR. I'VE MADE SEVERAL CALLS TO GM THIS PAST YEAR AND JUST GET A RUNAROUND. *TR
