I HAVE A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT AND THE SPEEDOMETER GAUGE QUIT WORKING ON ME. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON THIS AND FIND THAT MANY TRAILBLAZER OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR PROBLEMS. APPARENTLY, CHEVROLET HAD A RECALL PROGRAM FOR DASHBOARD GAUGE ISSUES WITH OTHER MODELS BUT DID NOT INCLUDE THE TRAILBLAZER AS A COVERED MODELED UNDER THIS RECALL. OTHER TRAILBLAZER OWNERS WHO HAVE POSTED COMPLAINTS OR PROBLEMS ONLINE HAVE ADVISED FILING A COMPLAINT THROUGH THE NHTSA TO SEE IF ENOUGH COMPLAINTS CAN BE LODGED AGAINST CHEVROLET TO FORCE A RECALL. IT OBVIOUSLY IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO HAVE A DEFECTIVE SPEEDOMETER. SOMETIMES MINE WORKS FINE, OTHER TIMES IT REGISTERS THE WRONG SPEED, AND STILL OTHER TIMES IT DOESN'T REGISTER A SPEED AT ALL. IF THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE AMONG TRAILBLAZER OWNERS, THEN I WOULD THINK THAT CHEVROLET SHOULD COVER IT UNDER THEIR RECALL PROGRAM ALONG WITH THE OTHER MODELS OF CHEVROLET TRUCKS & CARS THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR PROBLEMS. 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS MALFUNCTIONING INTERMITTENTLY. I HAVE OWNED SINCE NEW. ALSO HEAD LAMPS AT TIME WILL FAIL TO WORK, INTERMITTENTLY. *TR
2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. DEALER SAID THE GAS TANK HAS A CRACK IN IT AND IS NOT FOUND TO BE A RECALL ITEM. WE BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE SOMETHING THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD WARRANTY UNDER RECALL. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED THE RPMS STOPPED WORKING AND IN A YEAR THE SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED THE SPEEDOMETER DISPLAYED 80 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND WHO ADVISED HER THAT THE STEP MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. SHE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WERE APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
I HAVE A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LT MODEL. THE REAR HATCH LATCH FAILS TO LOCK OR UNLOCK DUE TO CORROSION. I FOUND ONLINE THAT THERE IS A RECALL COVERING CERTAIN GMC VEHICLES. THE SITE I FOUND LISTED THE 2003 CHEVROLET VEHICLE AS PART OF THIS RECALL. THE CAMPAIGN # IS 05V494000 AND THE GM RECALL # IS 05V494000. THE RECALL STATED THE FOLLOWING:CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES HAVE A REAR SIDE CLOSURE LATCH THAT MAY NOT LATCH OR UNLATCH DUE TO CORROSION CAUSED BY ROAD SPLASH, SUCH AS WATER AND ROAD SALT. THESE VEHICLES WERE ORIGINALLY SOLD IN OR CURRENTLY REGISTERED IN THE FOLLOWING STATES: CONNECTICUT, DELAWARE, ILLINOIS, INDIANA, IOWA, MAINE, MARYLAND, MASSACHUSETTS, MICHIGAN, MINNESOTA, MISSOURI, NEW HAMPSHIRE, NEW JERSEY, NEW YORK, OHIO, PENNSYLVANIA, RHODE ISLAND, VERMONT, WEST VIRGINIA, WISCONSIN, AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. CONSEQUENCE SUMMARY: IF THE DOOR IS NOT LATCHED PROPERLY AND IT GOES UNNOTICED, IT MAY OPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. IF AN UNBELTED OCCUPANT FELL OUT OF THE VEHICLE, PERSONAL INJURIES COULD OCCUR. RECALL NOTES: GM RECALL NO. 05077. I CONTACTED CHEVROLET 1-800-630-2438. I SPOKE WITH A REPRESENTATIVE THERE AND GAVE HIM ALL MY INFORMATION. HE INFORMED ME THAT HE COULD NOT FIND ANY RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. I GAVE HIM THE CAMPAIGN # LISTED ON THE WEBSITE AND HE LOOKED IT UP AND FOUND THE RECALL AND SAID THAT MAINE WAS NOT A STATE INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. I INFORMED HIM THAT THE RECALL I WAS VIEWING ON LINE CLEARLY LISTED MAINE AS A COVERED STATE. HE THEN SAID HE NOTICED IT. I GAVE HIM THE GM RECALL # AND HE SAID THAT THE RECALL ONLY COVERS GMC ENVOY AND CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT MODELS. IT CLEARLY IS THE SAME PROBLEM. I CHECKED AND THE LATCH IS CORRODED DUE TO SALT AND WATER. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THIS IS THE SAME SAFETY ISSUE AS THE OTHER VEHICLES AND SHOULD BE COVERED ON THIS RECALL. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE TRIM ITS LT AS OPPOSED TO THE EXT. *TR
PURCHASED A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER-EXT LT IN DEC 2002 FROM THE DEALER, TEAM CHEVROLET IN PASADENA. SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THERE'S BEEN SEVERAL RECALLS, ONE IN PARTICULAR THAT KEEPS RECURRING ARE THE BRAKE LIGHTS KEEP BURNING, THE DEALER CHANGED BOTH UNITS BUT IT KEEPS BURNING OUT. I GOT TIRED OF TAKING IT TO THE DEALER, SO I PURCHASED NEW BULBS AND LOOKED INTO REPLACING THEM MYSELF. HOWEVER WHEN I UNSCREWED THE BULB, I NOTICED THE BULB JUST DIDN'T BURN NORMALLY (LIKE A HOME LAMP) IT LOOKED MORE OF AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE, THE LINING OF WHERE THE BULB IS SCREWED IN LOOKED LIKE IT HAD WHITE RESIDUE AND IT SMELLED SMOKY. ALSO, DON'T KNOW IF ITS THE SHOCKS OR SUSPENSION,MAKES ODD NOISES. DEALER SAID ITS FINE, BUT THE NOISE IS STILL THERE.SHORLY AFTER MY ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON...THE DEALER COULD NOT FIGURE WHAT WAS WRONG AFTER A 2 TO 3 WEEK AND COSTLY EXPENSE AND TIME...THEY SWITCHED OUT THE GAS TANK...COME TO FIND OUT, THAT WASN'T THE PROBLEM, THE ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AGAIN, THEY SAID ONE OF THE PISTONS NEEDED REPLACING...$$$ THAT WAS A BIG EXPENSE AND TIME CONSUMING... EVERYTIME I TOOK IT TO THEM IT, SOMETHING WAS FIXED, THEY CHARGE, I PAY, AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD TURN ON, IT GOT FRUSTRATING. TILL, THEY FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT. NOW MY CAR SOUNDS HORRIBLE (SHOCKS/SUSPENSION NOISE GOT WORSE) WHEN I GO OVER CITY BUMPS OR DRIVING EVEN SMALL LIKE HILLS, AND MIND YOU,WHICH IS DRIVEN BY MYSELF (FEMALE 124LBS) IT SHOULDN'T SQUEAK OR MAKE NOISES, THE BRAKES PEDAL MAKES A NOISE WHEN I PLACE MY FOOT ON IT....YES IT HAS 90K MILES AND IT'S AN 8 YEAR OLD CAR, BUT I KEPT UP WITH THE MAINTENANCES, I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE SAME DEALER SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED, ONLY DRIVE IT TO AND FROM WORK....THE CAR IS IN GOOD CONDITION, NO HIT/SCRATCHES/NO TEARS.... I CAN'T EXPLAIN WHY.... ARE THERE ANY OTHER RECALLS, THE DEALER ISN'T AWARE OF??? FOR INSTANCE THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF THE GAS TANK RECALL..WHICH THEY WERE CHARGING ME OVER $1200 TO REPAIR, HOW CAN I TRUST THEY ARE DOING THEIR JOB? *TR
I OWN A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER V6 LS. I ALWAYS NOTED THE PRESENCE OF AN ODOR OF GAS ESPECIALLY WHEN FILLING UP MY VEHICLE, IT GREW PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER A TWO YEAR TIME FRAME. THEN IN JULY OF 2009 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND GO OFF. I NOTICED GAS DRIPPING FROM THE UNDERSIDE NEAR THE GAS TANK! FINALLY EVIDENCE OF A LEAK! A VERY STRONG SMELL OF GAS AND TOOK IT TO MY SERVICE GARAGE. THE EXAMINED THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME I NEEDED A NEW FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY. THEY REPAIRED IT TO THE TUNE OF $680 DOLLARS. 4 WEEKS LATER I WAS BACK, STILL SMELLING GAS. THEY HAD TO DROP THE TANK AGAIN AND REPLACE THE ASSEMBLY UNIT GASKET. I THINK THIS MAY BE A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM NOT JUST LIMITED TO ME. *TR
HEADLAMPS KEEP GOING OUT AND THE CONNECTORS KEEP MELTING AND BURNING THE REAR RADIO SPEAKERS GO OUT THE REAR HEAT/AIR GOES OUT THE LEVEL 5 SETTING ON THE FAN DOES NOT WORK THESE ARE NOT UNUSUAL COMPLAINTS FOR THIS VEHICLE, THERE SEEMS TO BE A STANDARD BEING SET WITH THESE ISSUES. *TR
SUN SHELL, (HOUSING) ON TRANSMISSION SHREDDED INTO OIL PAN AND RADIATOR. WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION LITERALLY EXPLODED SENDING METAL EVERYWHERE. CHECKED ON LINE POSTS AND SEE IT IS VERY COMMON ON 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER, (76000 MILES). VERY DANGEROUS. LEFT ME STRANDED ON THE EXPRESSWAY. NO WARNING SIGNS!! *TR
SPEEDOMETER TACHOMETER AND BATTERY GAUGE DO NOT WORK. *TR
TRANSMISSION COOLING LINE CORROSION AND LEAK. *TR
SMELL OF GAS DEVELOPED AROUND VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES. HAD IT LOOKED AT AND NOTHING WAS FOUND. BROUGHT IT TO ANOTHER SHOP AND THEY DROPPED OUT THE FUEL TANK, FINDING THE TOP OF THE TANK WET WITH FUEL AND THE CONNECTION RUSTED. THE SOLUTION WAS TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP AND PARTS. *TR
DEFECT IN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OF 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER AFTER BEING REAR ENDED. THE SPEEDOMETER WILL READY 40 WHEN STOPPED AND 120 WHEN DRIVING. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR REPAIRS, THEY SAID SINCE THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE THEN THEY WILL NOT FIX IT AND IT WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL $700 AT MY EXPENSE. ALL OTHER MODELS FOR THIS YEAR HAVE BEEN RECALLED BECAUSE OF THIS EXCEPT THE TRAILBLAZER. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS REPORTS ON THE WEB OF THIS DEFECT. ALSO, THE CD PLAYER WAS JAMMED IN THE PROCESS OF THE WRECK AND THEY REFUSED TO PAY FOR THAT EITHER. IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED FOR THE GM DEALERS TO FIX. *TR
SPARE TIRE CARRIER NOT OPERATIONAL. INABILITY TO CHANGE FLAT TIRE UNSAFE AND COSTLY (OF COURSE, TO THE OWNER). GENERAL MOTORS POORLY RE-DESIGNED SPARE TIRE WINCH INCLUDES PLASTIC HOUSING FOR CABLE THAT DETERIORATES IN THE SEVERE SERVICE AREA OF A MOTOR VEHICLE. PREVIOUS DESIGNS DID NOT INVOLVE THE USE OF PLASTICS IN THE EXTERNAL MECHANISMS. MINE FAILED LEAVING ME WITH A FLAT TIRE AND A PERFECTLY GOOD SPARE THAT I WAS UNABLE TO LOWER FROM THE REAR UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE. MAKES NO SENSE TO REPLACE THE WINCH WITH ANOTHER OF THE SAME DESIGN LEAVING MOST PEOPLE NO OPTION TO EITHER NOT CARRY A SPARE OR CARRY INSIDE THE VEHICLE EITHER UNSAFELY ANCHORED OR NOT ANCHORED AT ALL BECOMING A PROJECTILE IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. *TR
2003 TRAILBLAZER TRANSMISSION LINES. COOLANT LINES RUSTED AT THE FACTORY CONNECTION. MAJOR FLUID LOSS, HAD TO REPAIR IMMEDIATELY. *TR
CHRONIC PROBLEM/FAILURE OF INSTRUMENT GAGES/CLUSTER RELATING TO SPEEDOMETER, TEMPERATURE AND OIL PRESSURE FOR A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT. FOR EXAMPLE, THE SPEEDOMETER WILL UNEXPECTEDLY RAISE TO AN ALARMING SPEED READING WHILE THE VEHICLE IS NOT ACTUALLY TRAVELING MORE THAN A FEW MILES PER HOUR. DEALER ADVISES THAT THIS CONDITION IS NOT COVERED BY ANY RECALL NOTICE AND GM IS UNWILLING TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE TO ALLEVIATE THIS SERIOUS AND UNSAFE CONDITION. OTHER GM VEHICLES HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS EXACT CONDITION. ALSO, THIS VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED A CRACKED EXHAUT MANIFOLD DUE TO POOR DESIGN/ENGINEERING. *TR
I HAVE A CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER 2003. I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AS USUAL. THE SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING AND OTHER VARIOUS LIGHTS ON MY DASH BOARD LIT UP, I.E. CHANGE OIL LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. A CHEVROLET DEALER CHECKED THE VEHICLE AND TOLD ME IT WAS THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER AND THAT IT WOULD BE ABOUT $420,00. IT WORKS PERIODICALLY FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN GOES BACK OUT AGAIN. I HAVE CHECKED THE WEB SITE AND CHEVROLET KNOWS ABOUT THIS AND HAD A RECALL FOR A SHORT TIME AND DID NOT NOTIFY ITS CUSTOMERS. I ONLY FOUND ABOUT THIS WHEN A FRIEND ALSO HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH HER TAHOE AND SHE HAD TALKED TO A MECHANIC WHO SAID HE FIXED THE SAME PROBLEM FOR ONE OF HIS CUSTOMERS AND FOUND OUR THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL THAT CHEVROLET DID NOT NOTIFY IT'S CUSTOMERS. MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE DOCTORS APPT. THAT ARE AT LEAST 75 MILES ONE WAY AND I WORRY ABOUT GETTING A TICKET OR HAVING FURTHER VEHICLE DAMAGE RELATED TO THIS CONCERN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TAIL LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN GM RECALL NUMBER 05044 AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V198000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TURN SIGNAL). THE DEALER ADVISED HER TO WRITE A LETTER ABOUT THE ISSUES SHE WAS EXPERIENCING WITH THE VEHICLE, IN WHICH SHE DID. THE CONTACT HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS MADE TO HER VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,048.
INSTRUMENT PANEL MALFUNCTIONS...SPEEDOMETER JUMPS AND GETS PINNED ALSO TACHOMETER DOES THE SAME THING. YOU CAN BE DRIVING 20 MILES PER HOUR AND THE SPEEDOMETER SHOWS 85. ITS HAPPENING MORE AND MORE. *TR
BEGINNING 2 WEEKS AGO THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER HAS NOT BEEN WORKING PROPERLY. THE NEEDLE WILL GO PAST 120 MPH AND WHEN YOUR STOPPED IT WILL BE AT 30-40 MPH. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SINCE MY SON HAS HIS LEARNERS PERMIT AND WAS DRIVING THE FIRST TIME THE SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTIONED. WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY. I LOOKED ON-LINE AND FOUND SEVERAL PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. ONE SUGGESTED DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY FOR 5 MINUTES. I DID THIS AND IT WORKED FOR 1 WEEK. I DISCONNECTED IT 2 MORE TIMES SO FAR. TODAY I CALLED GM AT 800-630-2438 TO REPORT THE PROBLEM & SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL BUT THAT I SHOULD TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. I ASKED IF I WOULD BE CHARGED AND SHE SAID YES. I TOLD HER THAT I CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY THEM JUST FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND THAT THEY ALREADY KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS SINCE IT IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET ABOUT SO MANY OF THEIR VEHICLES DOING THIS. *TR
SPEEDOMETER, GENERATOR GAUGE, AND OIL PRESSURE GAUGE STOPPED WORKING OVER THREE YEARS AGO. I CHECKED FOR A RECALL BUT WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOT ONE ON THIS MODEL. I WAS TOLD THERE WERE RECALLS FOR OTHER CHEVROLET VEHICLES, AND KEPT WAITING FOR A NOTICE REGARDING THE TRAILBLAZER. I AM WORRIED NOW THE FUEL GAUGE WILL STOP WORKING. THE MILEAGE IS NOW AT ALMOST 81,000 MILES. THE SPEEDOMETER AND OTHER GAUGE ISSUES CREATE A VERY HAZARDOUS PROBLEM, AND IS DETRIMENTAL TO THE SAFETY OF ME AND MY CHILDREN / OTHER PASSENGERS. I WOULD LIKE TO BE NOTIFIED OF A RECALL NOTICE. *TR

I DID RESEARCH ON THE WEB TO FIND THAT THERE ARE OTHERS WHO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WHERE A CHANGE IN WEATHER MAKES THE DEVICE STOP FUNCTIONING. WHEN I CONTACTED GM THEY SAID THAT DESPITE THE LAWSUIT THAT IS EVIDENT ABOUT THE SAME TYPE OF ISSUE, MY MODEL WAS NOT LISTED. I HAVE READ ONLINE WHERE OTHER PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING. I FIND IT ODD THAT GM KNOWS THIS IS A PROBLEM BUT EXPECTS EVERYONE TO PAY $400-600 TO GET IT FIXED. IF IT IS A DEFECT IN THEIR PRODUCT THEY SHOULD HONOR THE FACT THAT WE PAID FOR IT AND NOW IT HAS FAILED PEOPLE. *TR
THE TACH IS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY. IT IS CURRENTLY POINTED PAST 7000 RPM WHEN VEHICLE IS OFF. *TR
2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. FUEL SENSOR HAS GONE OUT. THE FAILURE WAS NOT CAUSED BY ANYTHING DONE BY THE CONSUMER. MY FUEL GAUGE CONSTANTLY READS EMPTY AND IS NO ACCURATE. I TALKED WITH THE DEALERSHIP, AND EVEN THOUGH OTHER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME EQUIPMENT HAVE HAD RECALLS ISSUED, THEY HAVE NOT ISSUED ONE FOR THE TRAILBLAZER. I KNOW SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS WITH THEIR TRAILBLAZERS (2003 - 2006 MODELS) AND IT COSTS APPROXIMATELY $800 TO GET IT FIXED AT THE DEALERSHIP. *TR
MY REAR PASSENGER DOOR OPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THE CAR WAS RECALLED IN 2006 TO SUPPOSEDLY FIX THIS PROBLEM. WE BROUGHT IT IN THE SPRING OF 2006 AS PER THE RECALL. IF MY 9 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS NOT BUCKLED IN SHE WOULD HAVE FALLEN OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE RECALL WAS 05007. *TR
INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES HAVE BEEN NOT WORKING PROPERLY. OIL GAUGE IS PEGGED WAY PAST THE HIGHEST NUMBER. BATTERY VOLTAGE SHOWS MINUS VOLTS, RPM SHOWS MINUS NUMBERS WHEN STOPPED OR EVEN ZERO RPMS WHEN MOVING. TEMP GAUGE NOW STARTS SHOWING LESS THAN NORMAL. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED BY CHEVY. IF OTHER MODELS IN THIS CLASS ARE FIXED WHY NOT THE TRAILBLAZER. *TR
ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON, TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER. I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE GAS TANK. A CRACK WHERE THE FILLER TUBE MEETS THE TANK. *TR
I OWN A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. NOTICED THE SPEEDOMETER DOESN'T GO PAST 0 ON MY VEHICLE. ALL OTHER GAUGES WORKING PROPERLY. I'M READING A LOT OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS GAUGE ON THIS PARTICULAR MODEL OF CHEVY, BUT NO RECALLS. WHY NOT? *TR
I TURNED MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON IN MY CAR AND THEY WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. WELL, WHEN I GOT TO MY LOCATION I SHUT OFF THE CAR IN WHICH THEY RESET THEMSELVES OR SOMETHING, IT HAPPENED A COUPLE OF TIMES TILL TODAY. I TURNED THEM ON AND NOW THEY WON'T SHUT OFF NO MATTER WHAT I DO. I READ ONLINE THAT THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM, SO I CALLED CHEVROLET, AND SUPPOSEDLY IT DOESN'T COVER MY VEHICLE I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE RECALLS. MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS WON'T SHUT OFF. I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT I HAVE WITH MY 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND THE RECALL IS THE SAME AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED. *TR
FUEL GAUGE UNRELIABLE/ERRATIC. FUSE GAUGE WILL READ PAST FULL OCCASIONALLY AFTER FILLING THE TANK. AFTER SOME AMOUNT OF FUEL IS CONSUMED THE GAUGE WILL SLOWLY BEGIN READING WITHIN RANGE AND EVENTUALLY AS THE TANK EMPTIES IT WILL TYPICALLY, BUT NOT ALWAYS, BEGIN TO READ WHAT I ASSUME IS A CORRECT AMOUNT. IT IS HIT/MISS AT EACH IGNITION TURN WHETHER THE GAUGE WILL READ WHAT APPEARS TO BE CORRECT FUEL LEVEL. WHEN THE ISSUE IS OCCURRING, THE GAUGE DOES NOT DO THE ?ZERO? RESET CALIBRATION. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THIS COULD BE THE STEPPER MOTOR IN THE GAUGE CLUSTER (KNOWN MANUFACTURER DEFECT THAT GM REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE FOR THIS MODEL VEHICLE) OR THE SENDING UNIT. THIS CONDITION IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE WHEN IT DOES HAPPEN, I NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL I HAVE REMAINING AND I OR WHOEVER IS DRIVING THE VEHICLE COULD BE LEFT STRANDED ALONG A DESOLATE HIGHWAY WITH NO FUEL. *TR

I HAVE AN 2003 TRAILBLAZER WITH A BAD INSTRUMENT CLUSTER(SPEEDO, TACH, GAS GAUGE, TEMP) ALL NOT WORKING! ALL OF CHEVY VEHICLES IN THIS CLASS( TAHOE, SILVERADO) HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM EXCEPT FOR THE TRAILBLAZER. THIS SEEMS A BIT RIDICULOUS TO ME CONSIDERING THE PART NUMBERS FOR THE CLUSTERS ARE ALL EXACTLY THE SAME. WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST AROUND $500 FOR THE REPAIR. I CONTACTED CHEVY AND WAS TOLD IT IS NOT THEIR PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH THOUSANDS OF THEIR VEHICLES HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THE EXACT PROBLEM WITH THE EXACT SAME PART NUMBERS. I HAD TO BUY A GPS SYSTEM JUST SO I COULD KNOW HOW FAST I AM TRAVELING BECAUSE I COULD NOT AFFORD THE FULL REPAIR COST, NOR DO I FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO. I HAVE DONE PLENTY OF ONLINE RESEARCH AND HAVE FOUND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS IDENTICAL TO MINE. MY PROBLEM IS THAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY RECALLED THE TAHOES AND SILVERADOS AND NOT THE TRAILBLAZER WHEN THE PART NUMBERS ARE IDENTICAL. *TR

HIGH MOUNT REAR STOP TAIL LAMP ASSEMBLY IS LOOSE. OPENED THE TAILGATE ON 5/11/09 HEARD METAL CRUNCHING. EVER SINCE MY BACK GLASS VIBRATES VIOLENTLY WHEN GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, INCREASING THE POSSIBILITY OF IT BLOWING OUT. ON 5/17/09 AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION NOTICED THAT THE TOP ASSEMBLY HAS BROKEN AWAY FROM THE TRUCK ON BOTH SIDES (STILL BEING HELD ON BY THE CENTER) SHOULD THIS COME OFF IT PUTS ME AND DRIVERS BEHIND ME AT RISK OF AN ACCIDENT. THIS PROBLEM PUTS MY CHILDREN AT RISK OF GLASS SHATTERING ON THEM OR BEING INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE IT UNTIL IT GOES TO THE SHOP THIS WEEK. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER, BUT DOES NOT STALL. THE FAILURE HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. THE FAILURE HAS NEARLY CAUSED A CRASH ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE DEALER STATED THAT ALL THE COILS AND PLUGS WERE DEFECTIVE DUE TO THE GASKET LEAKING WATER AND CAUSING THEM TO CRACK. THE ONLY WORK PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE WAS FOR THE BRAKES AND SPARK PLUGS IN 2008. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 92,000.
2003 TRAILBLAZER TRANSMISSION GONE BAD (@63,000MILES) WHILE DRIVING. CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET, LUCKY NO OTHER CAR WAS BEHIND. *TR
THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (GAUGES) ON MY VEHICLE ARE GOING OUT 1 BY 1. IT STARTED WITH THE RPM'S A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. I HAD IT LOOKED AT BY A CHEVY DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND THAT THE GAUGE WAS JUST OUT. IT COULD BE REPAIRED BUT IT WASN'T NECESSARY IF IT ISN'T CAUSING ANY PROBLEMS. SHORTLY AFTER ANOTHER WENT OUT IT WAS THE OIL. AT THIS POINT ONLY 2 ARE STILL WORKING AND I KNOW THEY WILL GO OUT AS WELL AND, THOSE TWO ARE THE SPEEDOMETER AND THE FUEL. I DO KNOW OF OTHER CHEVY TRAILBLAZER OWNERS THAT THEIR SPEEDOMETER HAS WENT OUT AND THAT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. CHEVY HAS DONE A RECALL ON OTHER SUV'S FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM BUT, WILL NOT DO A RECALL ON THE TRAILBLAZER. I WOULD JUST LIKE FOR THIS INFORMATION TO BE NOTED SO THAT EVENTUALLY CHEVY WILL TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE.

SPEEDOMETER IS GOING PAST 120 MPH WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN SITTING STILL IT READS AROUND 60 MPH. I HAVE NO MONEY TO FIX IT AT THIS TIME. *TR
