FRONT END NOISES. SQUEAKS AND POPS FROM SUSPENSION. *TR
MY TRUCK HAS BEEN DRIVING AVERAGE, WITH PRIOR ISSUES OF THE TRUCK SOUNDING LIKE IT IS STRUGGLING TO ACCELERATE. THIS WEEKEND, IT BEGAN SOUNDING LIKE IT IS STRUGGLING TO ACCELERATE. BECAUSE OF THIS, I HAD TO DRIVE BELOW THE SPEED LIMIT FOR OVER 50 MILES FOR FEAR OF MY TRUCK BLOWING UP. AFTER TAKING MY TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE PROBLEM IS THE FAN CLUTCH. AFTER GOING ONLINE, I OBSERVED THAT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH TRAILBLAZERS FROM 2002-2007. BUT TO NO AVAIL, I CANNOT FIND ANY RECALLS FROM CHEVROLET ABOUT THEIR MANY FAULTY PARTS. I AM SUPPOSED TO PAY $900 TO REPAIR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED FROM CHEVY? WHERE IS THE JUSTICE? I AM A FAMILY MEMBER OF 3 GENERATIONS OF GM EMPLOYEES, AND I AM TRULY DISAPPOINTED IN CHEVROLET. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL ACTIVATE, BUT NOT SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT HAS TO PULL OUT THE FUSE EACH TIME THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS HAVE BEEN USED. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY IDENTIFIED THE FAILURE IN THE CIRCUIT BOARD. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 04V046000 (VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 99,655. UPDATED 09/10/08. *LJ THE CIRCUIT BOARD SHORTED OUT. UPDATED 09/16/08. *JB
PURCHASED USED 2003 TRAILBLAZER WITH 22,052 MILES IN MAY 2007...AC NOT WORKING PROPERLY..MAY 17, 2007 DEALER REPLACED LOW PRESSURE CYCLING SWITCH..AUGUST 28, 2007 NUMBER 1 AND NUMBER 5 SPEED STOPPED WORKING ON AC SWITCH.. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WOULD SPORADICALLY ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL. AFTER INJECTING FUEL INTO THE VEHICLE, HE WOULD SMELL A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK. THE FUEL CAP WAS REPLACED. TWO WEEKS LATER, THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS A FUEL TANK INJECT VALVE FRACTURE, AND THAT THE MANUFACTURER VOLUNTARILY RECALLED THAT COMPONENT IN AUGUST OF 2007. THE CONTACT'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED; THEREFORE, HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY $1,200 FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120,867.
TICKING NOISE UNDER HOOD WHEN ENGINE IS RUNNING. DIAGNOSED AS LEAKING EXHAUST MANIFOLD. BOLTS SECURING EXHAUST MANIFOLD BROKEN. REPAIR REQUIRES REMOVING CYLINDER HEAD TO REMOVE OLD BOLTS. COST ESTIMATED AT $2,000 PLUS. COMPLAINT FILED WITH CHEVROLET. CLAIM INITIALLY DENIED. CONTINUE TO ASK FOR ASSISTANCE. VEHICLE IS LOCATED AT TRECEK CHEV IN PORTAGE WISCONSIN AND IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL DEACTIVATE ONLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF. OCCASIONALLY, WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE HAZARD LIGHTS WOULD ILLUMINATE. THE FAILURE BEGAN TWO YEARS AGO, BUT HAS BECOME MORE FREQUENT. THE SPEED WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
MY CHEVY TRAILBLAZER HAS A LOUD SOUND WHEN DRIVING OR IDLING. ITS SOUNDS LIKE A DUMP TRUCK. HAVE TAKEN IT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY HAVE SAID THAT IT IS THE FAN CLUTCH. I THEN HAD THE FAN CLUTCH REPLACED AND THE SOUND CONTINUES. *TR
2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT. SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON ABOUT A MONTH AGO. SERVICE AT DEALERSHIP SAID WE NEEDED A NEW GAS CAP. REPLACED GAS CAP AND LIGHT CAME BACK ON. CONTINUOUS SMELL OF GAS WITHIN THE CABIN AND OUTSIDE. CAN'T FILL TANK ALL THE WAY OR SMELL GETS WORE. CAN'T PARK IN GARAGE FEAR OF GAS BUILD UP AND EXPLOSION. *TR

ON MY FIRST DAY FROM THE LOT PURCHASING A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER, GAS RUNS FROM THE FUEL TANK WHEN I FILL UP. AFTER SEEING ALL THE COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, WHY IS THERE NO RECALL FOR THIS? *TR
WE PURCHASED OUR 2003 TRAILBLAZER EXT USED THIS SUMMER. IT HAD ABOUT 50,000 MILES ON IT. WE'VE NOTICED THAT WHEN WE'RE ON THE ROAD FOR OVER 2 HOURS AT A TIME, THE SPEEDOMETER BECOMES DANGEROUSLY UNRELIABLE. MOST RECENTLY, MY HUSBAND WAS PULLED OVER FOR AN UNSAFE LOW SPEED -- UNTIL THE STATE POLICEMAN SAW THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS REGISTERING 20 MILES AN HOUR WITH THE CAR IN PARK AND THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. WE HAVE HAD MULTIPLE FAILURES. RESETTING IS SOMETIMES POSSIBLE BY CONTINUALLY RESTARTING THE CAR, BUT NOT ALWAYS, AND NOT WITH ANY RELIABILITY. BY CONTINUALLY RESTARTING I'M TALKING 30-50 RESTARTS. THE WEAR AND TEAR ON THE STARTER THEREFORE IS UNACCEPTABLE. THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE RECALL, BUT WE'VE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED AND WHEN WE'VE TAKEN IT TO DEALERSHIPS, WE HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL. THE PROBLEM HAS NO OTHER DISCERNIBLE PATTERN AND HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 6 TIMES IN THE 8 MONTHS WE'VE HAD THE CAR. *TR
THIS TRUCK HAS ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING AND WOULD NOT START BACK UP. THE TRUCK HAD TO BE TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP AND THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS REPLACED ALL THREE TIMES. THE LAST TIME IT WAS DRIVEN OFF OF THE LOT AND MADE IT 4 BLOCKS BEFORE IT STOPPED RUNNING AGAIN. IT WAS TOWED BACK TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND IS STILL NOT RUNNING.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE SMELLS GAS FUMES WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. WHILE PUMPING GAS, THE CONTACT NOTICED FUEL LEAKING. THE MANUFACTURER SENT A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FOR AN ICV FRACTURE AND STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK WOULD BE REPLACED. THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE THE TANK. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 83,000.
THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD ON MY 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT HAS CRACKED AT 54000 MILES, AND MUST BE REPLACED AT A COST OF AROUND $400. I CONTACTED GM DIRECTLY, AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS CONSIDERED "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR." I DISAGREE. IF THAT IS THE CASE, THEN WHY WOULD I KEEP THE VEHICLE, KNOWING I CAN ANTICIPATE ANOTHER COSTLY REPAIR WITHIN THE REASONABLE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALERS SERVICE MANAGER TELLS ME GM IS REPAIRING MANY OF THESE PARTS ON THE 4.2 L. ENGINE OF NOT ONLY THE TRAILBLAZER, BUT OTHER VEHICLES AS WELL. A LOCAL AFTERMARKET PARTS STORE ALSO SAYS HIS SUPPLIERS HAVE MANY OF THESE PARTS ON HAND. MORE THAN ONE MIGHT EXPECT IF THIS WERE AN UNEXPECTED OCCURRENCE. I BELIEVE GM KNOWS IT HAS A PART THAT IS UNSOUND, BUT IT IS UNWILLING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AT ITS EXPENSE. AN EXHAUST MANIFOLD IS NOT SUPPOSED TO FAIL WITHIN LESS THAN 4 YEARS, AND AT 54000 MILES. THAT IS NOT "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER FAILED. THE SPEEDOMETER AND THE TACHOMETER WORKED SPORADICALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. THE PURCHASE DATE AND TRANSMISSION TYPE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 76,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.
I HAVE A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THAT I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE A/C SINCE THE DATE OF PURCHASE. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTINUALLY ADVISE ME NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE A/C. THE A/C BLOWS HOT ALL THE TIME, FOR THAT MATTER THE BLOWER VENTS OMIT HOT AIR CONTINUALLY. I HAVE MADE EVERY EFFORT TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED WITHOUT ANY ASSISTANCE. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE 2003 MODEL. *TR
FOR APPROX. 4 MONTHS I WOULD GO TO GET INTO MY TRAILBLAZER AND THE VEHICLE WOULD BE DEAD. WOULD NOT START UNLESS I HAD IT JUMPED. IT WOULD GO 2 WEEKS WITH NO PROBLEM THEN OUT OF THE BLUE, NOT WORK. I HAD THE BATTERY CHANGED 2 TIMES, ALTERNATOR, STARTER CHECKED WITH NO PROBLEM. FINALLY AFTER THE LAST TIME, I HAD THE ALTERNATOR PEOPLE COME AND GET IT AND THEY CHECKED IT OUT FOR 2 DAYS. THE ABS SYSTEM IS WHAT CAME UP. I HAD TO HAVE IT TAKEN TO THE DEALER THAT I PURCHASED IT FROM (I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS VEHICLE PURCHASED USED FOR A YEAR AND COUPLE OF MONTHS-VEHICLE IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD NOW) AND IT IS THE ABS MODULE COSTING ME $1150.00 TO BE FIXED. DEALER STATES THAT IT STAYS ON AFTER VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND RUNNING MY BATTERY. *TR
I BROUGHT MY 2003 TRAILBLAZER IN FOR SERVICE TO MY GM DEALER WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY FOR A TICKING NOISE. THE NOISE IS INTERMITTENT AND THE PERIODIC RATE IS CONSTANT REGARDLESS OF ENGINE SPEED RPM'S. I NOW HAVE 50K MILES AND THE FAN CLUTCH MOTOR FAILED AND OPERATED AT 100%.THROUGH RESEARCH ONLINE, THE TICKING SOUND IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE FAN CLUTCH FAILURE MANY GM TRAILBLAZER AND ENVOY OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED. THE FAN OPERATES AT 100% DUE TO THE FAN CLUTCH FAILING RESULTING IN LOSS OF POWER. I TOO HAVE EXPERIENCED WHAT IS DESCRIBED BY MANY AS THE "LEAR JET" SOUND. THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AT HIGH SPEEDS IN MY OPINION IS AS SAFETY CONCERN AND GM SHOULD RECALL THIS DEFECTIVE FAN CLUTCH MOTOR. CUSTOMERS WITH MY 2002 AND ABOVE HAVE COMPLAINED ON SEVERAL WEBSITES ON THIS ISSUE.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 68,000 MILES ON TWO WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE. STRANDED WIFE AND KIDS ON INTERSTATE IN MICHIGAN. THANK YOU TO THE MICHIGAN STATE POLICE FOR HELPING! VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THE WHOLE GM BRAND. SECOND SUV OWNED AND SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH BOTH. THIS WILL BE THE LAST.... *JB
REAR AC/ENGINE COOLANT LINE WAS RUBBED THRU DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE INSTALLATION OF A HEAT SHIELD. THE TWO LINES PROVIDE FREON AND ENGINE COOLANT TO THE REAR AC/HEATER. THE GM PART NUMBER IS 15113349 AND IS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER BECAUSE THIS PART IS NOT SUPPOSE TO FAIL. GM CURRENTLY HAS OVER 100 OPEN TICKETS WHERE THIS PART IS FAILING AND THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY SUPPLY OF REPLACEMENT PARTS AS THIS PIPE IS AN ALUMINUM PIPE THAT ONES FROM THE FRONT TO THE BACK AND IS NOT SUPPOSE TO FAIL. *TR
STRONG GASOLINE SMELL IN PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. SMELL IS STRONGEST UNDERNEATH VEHICLE FUEL TANK. HAVE NOT YET HAD VEHICLE SERVICED TO DETERMINE ROOT CAUSE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT SMELLED FUEL INSIDE THE VEHICLE COMPARTMENT. SHE EXITED THE VEHICLE, CLEANED THE FUEL TANK, AND DISCOVERED A LEAK. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY THE DEALER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PLASTIC NECK LEADING INTO THE FUEL TANK APPEARED TO BE CRACKED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 29,855.
I HAVE A HIGH REVVING SOUND WHEN MY VEHICLE IS ABOUT TO TAKE OFF (IT ONLY HAPPENS ON TAKE OFF, FIRST GEAR). THEN IT WILL GO AWAY AFTER IT SHIFTS INTO SECOND GEAR. I HAVE TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALER SHIP TO GET LOOKED AT AND THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE IT WAS NOT HAPPENING AT THE TIME. I WAS FINE WITH THAT. TWO WEEKS LATER IT STARTS DOING IT AGAIN AND I TAKE IT IN 2 DAYS AFTER IT STARTED DOING IT AGAIN. THE DAY BEFORE I TAKE IT IN THE "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" LIGHT COMES ON. KEEP IN MIND THE NOISE HAS ALWAYS HAPPENED BEFORE THE LIGHT CAME ON.
FAN CLUTCH NOT PROPERLY WORKING ON WIFE'S 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. *TR
2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LS 4X4 - THE GAUGES ON THE DASH BOARD DO NOT WORK. THIS INCLUDES THE SPEEDOMETER, FUEL GAUGE, OIL PRESSURE GAUGE, BATTERY GAUGE AND OCTAMETER. I'VE READ MANY BULLETIN BOARDS INDICATING THE SAME ISSUE. THE DASHBOARDS FOR THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED.*TR
THE AUTOMOBILE STARTS OUT IN 2ND GEAR AND AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE TRANSMISSION HUNTS FOR THE CORRECT GEAR SHIFTING BACK AND FORTH.
I HAVE A 2003 TRAILBLAZER EXT. JUST GOT IT FROM MY IN-LAWS, ONLY 21K MILES ON IT. GASOLINE VENTS ON THE GROUND WHEN FILLING THE TANK FULL. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ILLUMINATED. I COUNTED MORE THAN 20 COMPLAINTS JUST LIKE MINE ON THE NHTSA COMPLAINT LIST. EXAMPLE ODI ID NUMBERS ARE 10191706, 10190967, 10188345, 10187405, 10186556, 10185694, 10184336, 10183773, 10182724, 10182384, ETC. I ASSUME IT IS A CRACKED FILLER NECK. I CALLED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY SEEMED HELPFUL AND GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER, BUT ADVISED ME TO GO TO A GM DEALER FOR AN OFFICIAL DIAGNOSIS BEFORE THEY CAN PROCEED WITH HELPING ME FURTHER. NO PROMISES AT THIS TIME. I ASSUME I'LL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE DIAGNOSIS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS MALFUNCTION, IT CAUSES FUMES, ODORS, AND PUDDLES OF GASOLINE BENEATH HOT VEHICLES. *TR
I HAVE A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT. THE "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT IN TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE GAS TANK WAS LEAKING GAS AND THE TANK WOULD NOT HOLD PRESSURE THUS CAUSING THE LIGHT TO COME ON. THE TANK WAS LEAKING WHERE THE FILLER NECK ATTACHES TO THE TANK. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DIRECTOR STATED THAT THE THE CRACK WAS CLEARLY A DEFECT AND WAS NOT CAUSED BY DAMAGE OR MISUSE. BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY HE STATED THE REPAIR WOULD BE AT MY EXPENSE AND WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY $750-$800.00. I PHONED CHEVROLET CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE AND FILED A COMPLAINT. AFTER THEY COMMUNICATED WITH THE CHEVROLET DISTRICT SERVICE REP. THEY CONCLUDED THAT GM WARRANTY WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE REPAIRS, EVEN DESPITE THE DANGER AND LIABILITY INVOLVED. THEY DID SUGGEST THAT IF THE DEALERSHIP WOULD APPROVE, TO HAVE THEM DO IT AT THE DEALERSHIP COST. THE GM CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE REP STATED THAT MY ONLY OTHER FORM OF ARBITRATION WAS THROUGH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. AS OF THIS DATE THE REPAIRS HAVE NOT BEEN MADE. I HAVE FOUND QUITE A NUMBER OF TRAILBLAZER OWNERS ON THE INTERNET WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND HAVE HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THE REPAIR MADE OUT OF POCKET.
SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. MY PRIVATE MECHANIC FOUND IT TO BE CODE P0440 INDICATING THE FUEL EVAPORATION SYSTEM HAD A PROBLEM. INITIAL INSPECTION FOUND NOTHING BUT UPON PERFORMING A SMOKE TEST OF THE FUEL SYSTEM, THE FUEL INLET NOZZLE ON THE FUEL TANK WAS FOUND LEAKING. ONLY FIX WAS TO REPLACE THE TANK. TOTAL COST WAS $2200. I NOTIFIED GM AND WAS TOLD THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. FUEL TANKS SHOULD NOT BE LEAKING, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE ONLY 4 YEARS OF AGE. MANY OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEBSITE SHOW THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. A RECALL TO CHECK ALL FUEL TANKS SHOULD BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED OVER THIS POOR DESIGN/QUALITY ISSUE. *TR
2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT HAS CRACK WHERE FUEL FILLER NECK MEETS THE FUEL TANK. IT CAUSES DTC P0440 TO BE SET, SES LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE AND FUEL TO LEAK FROM FUEL TANK.
NO SPECIFIC EVENT THAT I CAN SEE LEAD TO FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS IN THE TURNING SIGNAL OF THE 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE TURNING SIGNAL WORKED NORMAL AT TIMES, BUT AT OTHER TIMES IT WILL FLASH AT 2-3 TIMES THE NORMAL FLASHING SPEED. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO REPLACE THE PART. *AK

NO WARNING. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, THE CAR JUST SHUTS DOWN. THE FIRST TIME WE HAD IT TOWED TO AAA AUTOMARK, THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY BUT DID NOT FIND ANYTHING ELSE WRONG. IT HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES SINCE. WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO COAST OFF OF THE ROAD WITHOUT INCIDENCE SO FAR, BUT THIS IS DANGEROUS. I WENT TO THE WEBSITE BELOW, SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED AND DESCRIBED THE SAME CONDITIONS. I DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY AT THIS TIME. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT. THE CONTACT HAS HAD BOTH HEADLIGHTS REPLACED ON HER VEHICLE AND NOW THEY FAIL TO ILLUMINATE. WHEN IT GETS DARK OUTSIDE, THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD NORMALLY ACTIVATE AUTOMATICALLY, BUT THEY FAIL TO ACTIVATE ANY LONGER. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE VIN, ENGINE SIZE, AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 120,000.
2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. FUEL GAUGE WAS VERY ERRATIC THEN QUIT. CONTACTED DEALER SAID THEY HAVE HAD PROBLEMS BUT NO RECALL. CHEVY HAS RECALLED 2003 TRUCKS FOR SAME PROBLEM. THE TRAILBLAZER HAS THE SAME GAUGE CLUSTER, BUT THEY WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM FOR TRAILBLAZER OWNERS. *TR
TRAILBLAZER OVER HEATED ABOUT A YEAR AGO, RAN DIAGNOSTICS-CHANGED THE FAN CLUTCH ASSY, WORKED FOR TWO MONTHS. OVER HEATED AGAIN- MORE DIAGNOSTICS-WARRANTY FAN CLUTCH, WORKED FOR A WEEK- WARRANTY FAN CLUTCH AGAIN AND CHANGED THE COOLANT TEMP SENSOR- STILL OVER HEATING. DEALERSHIP WANTED TO CHANGE THE FAN CLUTCH AGAIN- I REFUSED BECAUSE THIS IS ABOUT TO RUN ME INTO THE POOR HOUSE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH THE VEHICLE BEGAN MAKING A LOUD NOISE. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE WAS FLAT. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE SPARE TIRE THE HOIST FAILED TO CRANK TO RELEASE THE SPARE TIRE. THE SERIAL NUMBER FOR THE CRANK WAS NOT VISIBLE. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE WIRES FOR THE HOIST WERE CROSSED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 48,000.*AK
ON APRIL 29, 2007, WHILE MY WIFE AND CHILDREN WERE PREPARING TO GO OUT TO THE STORE, THE REAR WINDOW ON MY 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER SHATTERED. NO ONE WAS IN THE CAR AT THE TIME AND THERE IS NO APPARENT CAUSE FOR THIS EVENT. GLASS FROM THE WINDOW WENT EVERYWHERE AND EVEN STRUCK MY 6 YEAR OLD SON IN THE LEG. WHEN GETTING THE OIL CHANGED FOR OUR TRAILBLAZER, THEY TOLD US THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE REVERSE LIGHT WAS OUT. WHEN THEY WENT TO REPLACE IT, THEY INFORMED US THAT THE ENTIRE AREA FOR THE BULB WAS RUSTED OUT. WE HAVE NOTICED THAT MOISTURE COLLECTS IN BOTH BRAKE LIGHT AREAS WHEN IT RAINS OR AFTER A CAR WASH. SO NOW THAT I AM UP TO 82,090 MILES NOW I MENTION SUSPENSION ISSUES STILL & OF COURSE THEY FIND BOTH LOWER BALL JOINTS NEED REPLACED @ $320.06 & LEFT OUTER TIE ROD END BROKEN @ $170.80. ALSO PEOPLE I WORK WITH WHO HAVE THIS SAME YR & MODEL VEHICLE HAVE HAD TO HAVE BALL JOINTS, SWAY BARS REPLACED, AND OTHER SUSPENSION WORK @ LOWER MILEAGES. I ALSO HAD AN ISSUE WITH MY 4-WHEEL DRIVE BECOMING INOPERATIVE & THIS DID ALMOST CAUSE ME TO WRECK GOING UP HILL DURING WINTER WEATHER. THEY REPLACED FRONT DIFFERENTIAL ENGAGEMENT ACTUATOR. ALL THESE THINGS IN MY MIND SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED AT THESE MILEAGES. THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE QUIT @ 80,000 MILES. ALL THESE ISSUES CAN CREATE SAFE DRIVING ISSUES FOR THE CONSUMER ESPECIALLY SOMEONE WHO PAYS OVER $30,000 FOR A VEHICLE WHEN IT'S NEW. I SMELLED A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE, AND HAD FUEL LEAKING FROM THE GAS TANK. I WAS AFRAID TO KEEP DRIVING IT LIKE THAT, I TOOK IT TO GET REPAIRED. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN HAD TO REPLACE THE SENDING UNIT MODULE, PART # MU1377. HE SAID IT WAS CORRODED.*AK
3 YEAR AGO I BOUGHT A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IT HAD 75,000 MILES ON WHEN I BOUGHT IT THE WEEK AFTER MY TACH STOPPED WORKING NO READING AT ALL I WENT TO EVERY MECHANIC THEY TOLL ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A MODULE PROBLEM AND THAT AND THAT IS GOING TO NEED A NEW ONE THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME OVER 2,500 DOLLARS TO FIX THE PROBLEM I HAVE SEARCH AROUND AUTO PARTS TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY SENSOR FOR THE TACH. I AM BEING TOLD THAT MY 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER HAS A CRACKED GAS TANK AND HAS BEEN LEAKING FUEL. WE HAVE NOTICED A STRONG GASOLINE ODOR FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE FOR A FEW WEEKS. APPARENTLY, CHEVY CREATED A 'SPECIAL POLICY' WHEN THIS ISSUE OCCURRED FOR ITS 2002 TRAILBLAZERS, BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT NO ATTENTION IS BEING GIVEN TO THE 2003 MODELS. MY DEALERSHIP IS REPLACING THE GAS TANK WHICH NORMALLY WOULD HAVE COST APPROX $1300, HOWEVER, TO GET THIS DEAL, THEY ARE REQUIRING ME TO PAY FOR THE 50K SUGGESTED MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE AT A COST OF $475. THERE HAS BEEN NO INJURY OR ACCIDENT TO MYSELF AS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECT, BUT I FEEL THAT IT IS IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO WARRANT INVESTIGATION SINCE THIS HAS ALSO OCCURRED IN PREVIOUS MODELS. ALSO, IN PREVIOUS MODELS CHEVY PAID FOR ALL OF THE REPAIRS WITHOUT REQUIRING THE OWNERS TO SPEND MONEY ON 'SUGGESTED MAINTENANCE'.
