2003 TRAILBLAZER GAS TANK LEAK, CRACK IN FUEL NECK, 60,000 MI.,SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE DEALER DIAGNOSED IT AND SAID IT WOULD BE $1200 TO REPLACE GAS TANK. *JB
SPEEDOMETER STARTED FLUCTUATING AROUND 55K MILES. FINALLY QUIT TOTALLY AT 77K WHICH WAS BEYOND MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY THE 500 BUCKS TO GET IT FIXED WITH $4 A GALLON GAS. AS SMOOTH AS THE TRAILBLAZER RIDES IT IS HARD TO TELL HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING,,,,,,,,,,,CERTAINLY A SAFETY HAZARD. GM SHOULD BE COVERING THIS FOR LIFE OF CAR. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING 45 MPH ON RAINY WET ROAD CONDITIONS, THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD NOT TURN OFF. THE SERVICE DEALER WAS CONTACTED, WHO DETERMINED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MODULE HAD FAILED, AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND NOTIFIED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA RECALL #04V046000, REGARDING THE VISIBILITY: WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER. THE SERVICE DEALER WAS CONTACTED FOR THE RECALL REPAIR, BUT DECLINED REPAIRING THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY FOUND THAT THE VIN # WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AGAIN, AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE THE VIN.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT CLAIMED TO SMELL GAS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED A FEW DAYS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER FOR SERVICE TWICE. DURING THE SECOND VISIT, A LEAK IN THE FILLER HOSE WAS DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT BECAUSE THE REPAIR WAS NOT PERFORMED BY A CHEVY DEALER, THE CONTACT COULD NOT BE REIMBURSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45885.*AK THE CUSTOMER STATED TO CHEVY THAT HE HAS THE CRACKED FILLER HOSE AND OFFERED TO TAKE TO A CHEVY DEALER BUT PREFERRED AN INDEPENDENT TESTING COMPANY GM REFUSED IN BOTH CASES. RECENTLY PURCHASE 2003 TRAILBLAZER AND FRONT HEADLIGHTS ALWAYS WORKED BUT FLICKER, TODAY I HAD AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE FRONT HEADLIGHT SIGNALS MALFUNCTIONED. JUST WANT DAMAGE REPAIRED. *JB
WE HAVE A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT SINCE WE BOUGHT IT BRAND-NEW. IT WAS BACK IN THE SHOP WITHIN 2 MONTHS OF PURCHASING IT DUE TO NEEDING THE ENTIRE FUSE BOX REPLACED. IT HAS BEEN BACK IN FOR REPAIRS NUMEROUS TIMES FOR ENGINE FAILURE AND PROBLEMS WITH THE GAUGES. WE HAVE HAD THE ENTIRE SPEEDOMETER PANEL REPLACED AT OUR EXPENSE AND SPENT $1200 ON REPAIRS RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION. WE RETURNED IT TO THE DEALER 2 MONTHS LATER DUE TO THE EXACT SAME DIFFICULTIES WITH THE ENGINE STALLING AND THEY TOLD US THE COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. WE PAID FOR THAT AND NOT ONE WEEK LATER THE VEHICLE IS CONTINUING TO STALL ON US. IT HAS BEEN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND IN AT LEAST ONCE CIRCUMSTANCE HAS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE ENGINE HAS QUIT ON US ON AT LEAST 12 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WITHIN THE LAST 2 MONTHS, DESPITE BEING IN FOR REPAIRS TWICE FOR THE SAME ISSUE. WE ARE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS VEHICLE AND ARE SADDENED BY THE FACT THAT WE HAVE SPENT SO MUCH MONEY AND TO NO AVAIL. WE HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT MANY, MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME TROUBLE. WE ARE TAKING IT BACK TO THE DEALER TOMORROW AND TRADING IT IN. WE NEED SOMETHING THAT IS RELIABLE AND SAFE OUT ON THE ROADS. AND THIS VEHICLE IS DEFINITELY NOT SAFE.
I OWN A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. IT HAS JUST OVER 60,000 MILES. THE SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING CORRECTLY A FEW DAYS AGO. THE SPEEDOMETER READS BETWEEN 85-120 MPH NO MATTER HOW FAST I AM DRIVING. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER THAT IT WILL COST AROUND $400.00 TO HAVE THE SPEEDOMETER REPAIRED. I BELIEVE CHEVROLET SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT/REPAIR COSTS SINCE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NUMEROUS OTHER CHEVY TRUCK/SUV OWNERS HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED. THEY SHOULD HAVE RECALLED THE SPEEDOMETERS ON THEIR SUVS/TRUCKS A LONG TIME AGO.*JB

FRONT END MAKING POPPING AND CREAKING NOISES WHILE OPERATING. *TR
MY 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WAS HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT RAN A STOP SIGN AND STRUCK THE DRIVERS SIDE. THIS CAUSED THE FRONT WHEEL AND AXEL TO BREAK, CAUSED THE CAR TO LOOSE CONTROL, AND FLIP END OVER END LANDING UPSIDE DOWN. NONE OF THE FRONT OR SIDE AIR BAGS WORKED. *NM
I HAVE A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT WAS ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AND THEY SAID THE GAS TANK INLET LINE HAD A CRACK IN IT AND I NEEDED A NEW TANK, IT WOULD COST $906. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND THERE IS A SPECIAL POLICY ADJUSTMENT #05012 FOR 2002 TRAILBLAZERS. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY WOULD REPLACE IT FOR FREE CAUSE THEY ARE THE SAME TANKS ON THE 2002 AND 2003, BUT I STILL HAD TO PAY $87.00 FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE. I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP AND CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL THE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED AND CHANGED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT FROM ON EXPLODING. THEY TOLD ME THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT, THEY ARE REPLACING MY TANK. BUT WHAT ABOUT ALL THE OTHER TANKS OUT THERE THAT COULD BE LEAKING, AND IF SOMEONE REAR ENDS THEM, OR A ELECT SHORT CAUSES A SPARK, A CIGARETTE BEING FLICKED OUT THE WINDOW, SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT BEFORE SOMEONE GET KILLED. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHO DETERMINED THE FILLER PIPE NECK AT THE TOP OF THE FUEL STORAGE TANK ASSEMBLY WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALERTED. UPDATED 10/25/2006 - THE TANK AND INLET IS A ONE PIECE UNIT. THE INLET CRACKED AROUND THE MOLDED FLANGE WHERE IT ATTACHES TO THE FUEL TANK. THIS IS WHERE THE FUEL LEAKED FROM. *NM
PASSENGER SIDE UPPER BALL JOINT CAME OUT CAUSING THE LOWER BALL JOINT TO ALSO COME OUT RESULTING IN A CUT ABS SENSOR WIRE AND A BENT STRUT AND FINALLY A AXLE THAT RIPPED OUT OF THE TRANSFER CASE WHICH DESTROYED THE CASE COVER. *NM
2003 TRAILBLAZER RACK AND PINION FAILED DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. *TS THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE RACK & PINION FAILED, IT CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STEER LEFT, AND SUBSEQUENTLY AN ACCIDENT OCCURRED. *JB
MY 2003 TRAIL BLAZER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON SO I TOOK IT IN TO SEE WHY IT WAS ON. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE GAS CAP RESET THE ENGINE LIGHT AND SENT ME OFF. TWO DAYS LATER, IT CAME BACK ON SO I TOOK IT BACK. THIS TIME THEY REPLACED A SOLENOID AND RESET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. ONE DAY LATER IT CAN BACK ON. TIRES CARE PLUS STATED TO TAKE IT TO THE CHEVY DEALER BECAUSE THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED IT WAS A FUEL FILTER FITTING LEAK AND THAT THE ENTIRE GAS TANK AND FUEL HOSE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $1000.00. I OPTED NOT TO HAVE IT FIXED SO THEY SENT ME HOME WITH NO WARNING OR FURTHER EXPLANATION. I WENT HOME AND DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. AS IT TURNS OUT, THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE FUEL FILTER FILLING BREAKING FROM THE FUEL TANK. FOUR DAYS LATER, I WENT TO FILL UP MY CAR WITH GAS AND ALL THE GAS RAN OUT OF THE CAR ALL OVER THE PAVEMENT. I CALLED THE CHEVY DEALER, STATED WHAT HAPPENED AND HAD IT REPAIRED FOR $1000.00 (THE ENTIRE GAS TANK AND FUEL FITTING ON A 2003 CAR!). FROM WHAT RESEARCH I HAVE DONE, THE 2002 TRAILBLAZER HAVE BEEN RECALLED BUT THE 2003 HAVE NOT AND CHEVY HAS NOT REDESIGNED THE TANK. THERE WAS A LADY THAT HAD TO REPLACE HER TANK TWICE! IS THIS NOT A HAZARD? I KEPT SMELLING GAS OUTSIDE MY CAR BUT ASSUMED THAT IT WAS BECAUSE I HAD OVERFILLED THE TANK. *JB
TL* - THE CONTACT CALLED REGARDING THE 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT. THE CONTACT STATED THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD NOT GO BACK TO ZERO WHEN THE IGNITION WAS TURNED OFF. THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD STATE 50-70 MPH WHEN ONLY TRAVELING 5 MPH. THE SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76912. THE CONTACT HAS THE REPAIR ORDER. ABOUT A MONTH AGO, TURNED VEHICLE OFF FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES, WHEN RETURNING TO THE CAR AND RESTARTING, NOTICED THE RADIO DID NOT COME ON, THE CLOCK DID NOT ILLUMINATE. AFTER ARRIVING TO DESTINATION, TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND THE RADIO AND CLOCK BEGAN WORKING AGAIN, BUT THE CLOCK HAD RESET ITSELF(LIKE THE BATTERY HAD BEEN DISCONNECTED). OCCASIONALLY, WHEN TURNING ON THE TURN SIGNAL-IT DOESN'T BLINK, JUST STAYS LIT UP. I HAVE CHECKED FOR BLOWN BULBS-THEY ALL ARE WORKING PROPERLY. THE RADIO STATION ID (ON THE SCREEN) SEEMS TO WORK OCCASIONALLY. LAST NIGHT, WHEN THE RADIO WAS ON PRESET 6 (105.9) FM100 SHOWED ON THE SCREEN. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH ON A CITY STREET, THERE WAS A POPPING NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL, UPON APPLYING BRAKE PRESSURE, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS WEARING A SEAT BELT, BUT NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE HOWEVER, THE POLICE WERE NOT ALERTED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER WHO DETERMINED THE STEERING RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALERTED. UPDATED 10/27/06. *JB
2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WITH 34100 MILES SERVICE ENGINES LIGHT COMES ON, I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER WHO FIXES IT AND RECOMMEND I HAVE THE TRANSMISSION AND ANOTHER REGULAR MAINTENANCE COMPLETED THAT COST ME OVER 400.00 DOLLARS. TWO WEEKS LATER I HAVE TO TAKE IT BACK BECASUE THE SPEEDOMETER WENT PAST 115 MILES WHILE SITTING STILL, A WEEK LATER THE TRANSMISSION STARTS STALLING WHILE GOING FORWARD AND THE ENGINE FAN IS RUNNING CONSTANTLY EVEN ON START UP. CHECKED THE FLUID I HAD NONE IN THE TRANSMISSION. YET IT WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE BEEN FILLED WHEN MAINTENANCE WAS DONE. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER IT IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND JUST UNDER A HUNDRED MILES LATER MY 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WHICH IS 3 YEARS OLD. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN THE CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE EXPERIENCING THIS. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. HELP. *NM
DRIVER SIDE SEAT DETACHED FROM SEAT FRAME RECENTLY. I TURNED TOWARDS THE BACK OF MY CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT TO TALK TO MY KIDS AND THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE DRIVERS SEAT BROKE FROM THE SEAT FRAME. UPON INSPECTION, THERE'S A FLIMSY PIECE OF METAL HOLDING THE SEAT TO THE SEAT FRAME. WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN TO THE SERVICE DEALER, HE SAID THE WHOLE SEAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF OVER $800. HE SAID I CAN CALL GM TO REPORT THE ISSUE AND THAT THEY MAY OFFER ME A DEAL TO SPLIT THE COST SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I BELIEVE THIS IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT BECAUSE IT HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE IN ANY CAR THAT I'VE OWNED IN THE PAST. WAITING RESOLUTION TO MY COMPLAINT FROM GM, BUT THIS IS CONDITION MAY LEAD TO FUTURE ACCIDENTS!! *JB
WELL MAINTAINED 2003 TRAILBLAZER TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO 80,000 MILEAGE. THEREFORE, A DEFECTIVE DESIGN MUST HAVE LEAD TO THIS OCCURRENCE. WE PAID OVER $3,000 FOR A GM REBUILT TRANSMISSION WITH A 3 YEAR AND 100,000 MILE WARRANTY. THUS WITH THIS TYPE OF WARRANTY, THE MANUFACTURER MUST HAVE BEEN AWARE THE INITIAL PRODUCT WAS DEFECTIVE. *JB
MY 2003 TRAILBLAZER LS ENGINE HAS STALLED AND COMPLETELY DIED WHILE I'VE BEEN DRIVING IT NUMEROUS TIMES. THE FIRST TIME WAS ON 9/8/06 AND I WAS SLOWING DOWN AT A STOP LIGHT, ABOUT 35 MILES AN HOUR, THE ENGINE JUST DIED, AND I HAD TRAFFIC BEHIND ME AND WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED. I FINALLY GOT IT RESTARTED AFTER TURNING OFF THE AC AND GOT IT OFF THE ROAD, TOWED TO DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AFTER 2 DAYS. I GOT IT BACK FROM THE DEALER AND IT PROCEEDED TO DIE ON ME ON 4 SEPARATE DAYS, EACH TIME WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND WITH THE A/C ON. I'VE SO FAR BEEN ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF ONCOMING CARS AND GET IT RESTARTED, BUT REFUSE TO DRIVE IT ON THE INTERSTATE FOR FEAR OF BEING REAR ENDED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AGAIN ON 9/18/2006 AND THEY KEPT IT FOR 3 DAYS WHILE I PAID FOR A RENTAL AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. ALL THEY DID WAS DRIVE IT AROUND A FEW MILES AND TELL ME THEY COULDN'T GET IT TO FAIL. ON THE WAY HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP, IT FAILED ON ME AGAIN. I'VE RESEARCHED ON THE INTERNET AND THIS SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING WITH A NUMBER OF 2003 TRAILBLAZERS, I CAN'T BELIEVE CHEVY DOESN'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG. *NM
I HAVE A 2003 CHEV. TRAILBLAZER. THE WINDSHIELD WIPER RECENTLY REFUSED TO TURN OFF. IT HAD BEEN RAINING AND THEY COULD NOT BE STOPPED. MY WIFE HAD TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH THEM POINTED FORWARD UNTIL REPAIR COULD BE HAD. I NOTICED THAT A RECALL FOR THE PRECISE PROBLEM HAD BEEN ISSUED BY NHSTA--FOR VEHICLES MFD APRIL 2002 TO NOV.2002. MY VEHICLE WAS BUILT DEC. 17 2002. THE DEALER HAS BEEN EXCELLENT, BUT I HAD TO CONTACT CHEVROLET MOTOR DIVISION AND THEY SAID MY CAR WAS NOT COVERED--TOO BAD. I FIND IT INCREDIBLE THAT THIS EVENT THAT IS PRECISELY DESCRIBED IN RECALL NUMBER 04V046000 AND SERVICE BULLETIN 10008492. I AM REQUESTING YOUR HELP WITH THIS MATTER, OR THE TIME PERIOD FOR THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED AS CLEARLY MY VEHICLE SUFFERS THE PRECISE PROBLEM YOU HAVE SPECIFIED. *NM

ENGINE KEPT MAKING THIS VERY LOAD ROARING NOISE. HAD TO GET THE CLUTCH FAN REPLACED LIKE MANY OTHER TRAILBLAZER OWNERS. GM NEEDS TO RECALL THIS PART! *TR
1) SPARE TIRE RELEASE DEFECTIVE AND CANNOT LOWER SPARE. FOUND PROBLEM WITH SPARE RELEASE BY BELLE TIRE WHEN ROTATING AND BUYING NEW TIRES AT 58,000 MILES. 2) NO SPARE AVAILABLE. MY CHILD IN THE CAR STRANDED ON A ROAD ENDANGERS MY FAMILY. 3) REQUESTED GM ASSISTANCE CENTER FOR ASSISTANCE WITH NO ANSWER FOR TWO MONTHS. WAS FINALLY DIRECTED TO DEALER FOR ESTIMATE. GM DEALER INDICATED THAT THE PROBLEM IS COMMON ON THE GM TRAILBLAZERS, AND IN NEED OF REPAIR. THEY DID NOT KNOW IF THE REPLACEMENT PART WAS REDESIGNED. GM ASSISTANCE CENTER COULD NOT ANSWER IF PART IMPROVED , AND WOULD NOT OFFER ANY COMPENSATION FOR REPLACEMENT OF ANOTHER POTENTIALLY BAD PART THAT COULD LEAVE A MOTORIST IN AN UNSAFE SITUATION . *JB
MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE WITH ONLY 40,000 MILES ON IT! POWER WINDOW ASSEMBLY BROKE AND REPAIRED TWICE ON THE SAME DOOR, INOPERABLE CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT, FRONT DASHBOARD GETS EXTREMELY HOT AT ALL TIMES, BRAKES SQUEAL ALL THE TIME (DEALER COULD NOT FIGURE IT OUT AND WAS REMEDIED WITH CERAMIC BRAKE PADS AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS), TRANSMISSION HAS POOR SHIFTING PATTERN (BULLETIN PROVIDED A NEW SHIFT PROGRAM FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND THE DEALER INSTALLED BUT IS RIGHT BACK TO IT'S ORIGINAL PROBLEM AFTER 3 MONTHS). *JB
SMELL OF FUEL AFTER DRIVING. FUEL LEAKING IN VICININTY OF GAS TANK ONTO DRIVEWAY. BROUGHT 2003 TRAILBLAZER FOR SERVICING. FUEL PUMP WAS LEAKING FUEL WHERE CONNECTED TO SENDING UNIT. FUEL PUMP REPLACED. ORIGINAL SENDING UNIT TRANSFERRED ONTO NEW PUMP. PARTS COST $500.00 AND LABOR $180. *AK
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DID NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE SPEEDOMETER INDICATED 30 MPH WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. ALSO, THE TACHOMETER, THE OIL AND FUEL GAUGES, AND THE ODOMETER DID NOT GIVE A READING AT ALL. THE FUSES WERE REMOVED AND PUT BACK IN, WHICH ONLY CORRECTED THE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE REPAIR SHOP, WHERE THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM.
SES LIGHT CAME ON. GAS CAP REPLACED. SES LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AFTER FILL UP AND 1/4 TANK OF GAS USED. CLAMPS TIGHTENED ON FILLER TUBE. SES LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AFTER FILL UP AND 1/4 TANK OF GAS USED. WENT TO DEALER, REPLACE VENT VALVE IN FILLER TUBE ON MONDAY. TUESDAY MORNING FILLED UP WITH GAS. GAS WAS LEAKING OUT ON THE GROUND AND ALL OVER MY FEET. BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER, THEY SAID THE SEAL ON THE FILLER PIPE ENTERING THE TANK HAD DETERIOATED BECAUSE OF THE CHEMICALS IN THE GASOLINE, AND THAT WAS THE REASON FOR THE BREAK. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT BECAUSE THE WEEK BEFORE THE REPAIR I FILLED THE TANK & IT DID NOT LEAK, THE DAY AFTER THE REPAIR I FILLED THE TANK AND DISCOVERED THE HAZARDOUS LEAK. THE DEALER DISCLAIMED ALL LIABILITY FOR THE BROKEN FILLER TUBE AT THE GAS TANK. I CONSIDER THIS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD AND THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD RECALL ALL CHEVROLET TRAIL-BLAZERS WITH THIS TYPE OF VENT AND FILLER TUBE PROBLEM, BECAUSE WHEN I LOOKED AT MY TANK THERE WAS ANOTHER TANK IN THE GARBAGE PILE WITH THE SAME FAILURE. THERE WAS NO FIRE BECAUSE I EXITED THE SITE IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT A SPARK FROM IGNITING THE SPILLED FUEL. *JB
I OWN A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. A MONTH AFTER WE PURCHASED IT WE FOUND OUT THE VEHICLE LEAKS FUEL WHEN ON A DRIVEWAY INCLINE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC. THEY SAID IT WAS CODE ON P0440 -EVAP LEAK SMALL. WHEN THEY CHECKED IT OUT THEY FOUND A CRACK AROUND FILLER NECK OF GAS TANK. THEY SAID THERE WAS ALREADY A TECH SERVICE BULLETIN THAT SAID A SMALL CRACK OCCURS ABOVE FLUID LEVEL. GAS TANK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I CALLED A DEALERSHIP AND APPARENTLY THESE GAS TANKS ARE HARD TO COME BY BECAUSE THEY ARE BACK ORDERED DUE TO THIS BEING SO COMMON ON THIS VEHICLE. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHEN THE REAR RIGHT AUTOMATIC WINDOW WAS OPENED, THERE WAS A GROANING NOISE, FOLLOWED CLOSELY BY THE WINDOW SLIDING OPEN WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE WINDOW MOTOR NEEDED REPLACEMENT.
VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW FROM GM DEALER ON OCT 31, 2002. VEHICLE HAS 71,770 MILES ON IT. WAS DRIVING LESS THAN 6 MILES TO WORK IN THE MORNING AND GAVE IT GAS AND FELT SOMETHING BREAK. FORWARD GEARS HAD LITTLE POWER AND HAD A HIGH WINING SOUND TO THEM. HAD NO REVERSE GEAR. HAD TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED. DEALER DIAGNOSED IT OVER THE PHONE. DEALER OPENED THE TRANSMISSION AND FOUND THE REACTION SUN SHELL IN THE TRANSMISSION STRIPPED. DEALER STATED THEY HAVE REPAIRED THESE BEFORE, IT WAS COMMON OCCURRENCE IN GM VEHICLES DUE TO POOR QUALITY OF METAL USED IN TRANSMISSION. DEALER HAD TO TEAR APART TRANSMISSION, REMOVE DRIVE SHAFTS, TRANSFER CASE, INSTALL NEW SUN SHELL, RELATED SEALS, AND BEARINGS. GM REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE ANY PROBLEMS AND REFUSES TO REIMBURSE COST OF REPAIRS. TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS WAS $1079.45. NOT KNOWN IF OLD PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. *JB
AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING ACCIDENT. VEHICLE WENT THROUGH A GUARD RAIL, SUSTAINED FRONT END DAMAGE. *TR
THE ROOF RACK TO MY 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER BLEW OFF WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM THE SHORE ON THE ATLANTIC CITY EXPRESSWAY. THERE WAS NO PRIOR DAMAGE OR ACCIDENT TO THE VEHICLE TO CAUSE SUCH A PROBLEM. WE WERE INFORMED THAT OUR CAR WAS NOT THE FIRST CASE. THE DEALER DID FIX THE ROOF RACK BUT I'M CONCERNED THAT IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN IF NO ADJUSTMENTS ARE MADE TO THE DESIGN. THERE IS A GLUE STRIP THAT HOLDS THE BOTTOM PORTION IN PLACE. THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. *JB

WE HAVE A 2003 TRAILBLAZER AND VERY EARLY ON AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, WE STARTED HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. WE HAVE HAD IT WORKED ON NUMEROUS TIMES AND THE LAST TIME AT OUR COST. NOW ALMOST A YEAR AFTER PAYING TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION'S REPAIRED AT A CHEVROLET DEALER, THE SAME PROBLEMS HAVE ARISEN AGAIN. *JB
TRANS COOLANT LINES RUBBED AGAINST CAT CONVERTER, CAUSING LEAKS. 4 - 4.5 QTS OF TRANS FLUID LEAKED OUT. TRANS OVERHEATED AND FAILED ON THE HIGHWAY, CAUSING VEHICLE TO STOP IN AN UNSAFE LOCATION. TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED. *NM
HIGH PITCH WHIRRING SOUND EMANATING FROM THE FRONT UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. SOUND INCREASED AS ACCELERATION INCREASED. DIFFICULTY IN STEERING BECAME PROMINENT. RACK AND PINION WAS LEAKING INTO THE BOOT. GASOLINE TANK LOCATED ON THE DRIVER SIDE REAR, WHEN FULL, LEAKED GASOLINE. *JB
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK, FREQUENTLY THE PUMP CLICKS OFF AND GAS SURGES UP THE FILLER NECK AND FLOWS TO THE GROUND. HAPPENS AT DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND DIFFERENT PUMPS. *JB
TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. FIRST OCCURRENCE BROUGHT INTO SERVICE DEPARTMENT, TESTS WERE RUN, AND THEY TEST DROVE, AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. APPROX. 2WKS LATER BROUGHT VEHICLE BACK IN FOR SAME PROBLEM, RAN TESTS AND TEST DROVE, FOUND NOTHING WRONG, THEY CALLED ME, TWO DAYS LATER AND I ASKED THEM TO HOLD IT OVER AND CHECK AGAIN, THEY FOUND A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, HAD TO REBUILD ENGINE. 11 DAYS LATER I RECEIVED MY CAR AFTER THE REPAIRS. SAME DAY THAT I RECEIVED MY CAR, EXPERIENCED SAME TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. ALSO I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR IN TWO OTHER TIMES FOR THE FAN CLUTCH BREAKING. *NM
2003 TRAILBLAZER FUEL LINE AND FUEL PUMP RUSTED AND BEGAN TO LEAK FUEL. *TS THE FUEL PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF 800.00 DOLLARS. THE FILLER NECK WAS LEAKING AT THE FUEL TANK. THE FRONT PINION AXLE SEAL WAS LEAKING AND THE FRONT STABILIZER LINKS WERE REPLACED. *JB
PURCHASED 2003 TRAILBLAZER IN OCTOBER 2003. HAD PROBLEMS SHIFTING INTO 4WD IN WINTER 2003-04. WHEN SWITCHING INTO AND 4-WD, LIGHTS WOULD FLASH AND IT WOULD REMAIN IN 2-WD. SERVICE 4WD LIGHT CAME ON SOON AFTER. BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER WHO COULD NOT REPLICATE PROBLEM. THIS HAPPENED LATER THE SAME YEAR AND ALSO THE FOLLOWING YEAR, EACH TIME THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. THIS PAST WEEKEND WHILE ON VACATION, A PARKING VALET FOR SOME ODD REASON, SWITCHED THE CAR INTO 4-WD LOW. CAR WILL NOT COME OUT OF 4-WD LOW. HAD TO LEAVE AT DEALER 150 MILES FROM HOME AND RENT A CAR TO GET HOME. I AM WAITING UNTIL AFTER THE 4TH OF JULY HOLIDAY FOR THEM TO LOOK AT CAR AND FIGURE OUT PROBLEM. *NM

WHILE THE SECOND LEAK ENTERED FROM THE LEFT REAR WHEEL FENDER SHIELDING. THE WATER FROM THE LEAKS CAUSED MOLD IN THE CARPETING OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER DETERMINED THE VEHICLE WAS BEYOND THE WARRANTY LIMITATIONS. THE DEALER OFFERED TO REPAIR AND REPLACE THE CARPETING AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE.

WHILE DRIVING, THE SPEEDOMETER GOT STUCK AT 40MPH. IT NEVER CAME BACK DOWN, BUT EVENTUALLY WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT SIDE. AFTER $900 FOR A NEW INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IT WAS FIXED, BUT THE FOLLOWING YEAR A FRIEND OF MINE WITH AN 05 TRAILBLAZER HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO HER. SHE WON'T GET IT FIXED BECAUSE IT SEEMS JUST A TAD BIT SUSPICIOUS THAT SO MANY SPEEDOMETERS HAVE GONE OUT IN THESE THINGS. *TR
HEADLIGHT PLUG MELTED AND BURNED. PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT GOES OUT REPEATEDLY PRIOR TO NOTICING BURN DAMAGE. THREE BULBS REPLACED SINCE AUGUST 2005 PRIOR TO BURN DAMAGE NOTED. THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF THIS THAT I CAN GATHER FROM A WEB FORUM THAT I VISIT CONCERNING THE TRAILBLAZER. *NM
I OWN A CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LS 2003 AND RECENTLY MY DIM HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN GOING OUT. I HAVE REPLACED NUMEROUS BULB IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS AND RECENTLY I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE HEADLIGHT HARNESS WIRING HAS BEEN SHORTED OUT AND FRIED. THE ODD THING IS THAT BOTH DIM HEADLIGHT HARNESS ARE FRIED. I MAINTAIN MY VEHICLE FAIRLY WELL AND TRY TO KEEP THINGS IN WORKING ORDER. I CALLED THE CHEVY DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE NOT HAD ANY COMPLAINTS OR RECALL OF THE HARNESS. TWO YEARS AGO I HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT SYSTEM AND FINALLY AFTER REPLACING A HUGE NUMBER OF BULBS, THE CHEVY COMPANY RECALLED THE MOTHER BOARDS ON THE TAIL LIGHTS. WITH THE DIM LIGHTS GOING OUT WHEN EVER THEY WANT, PUTS THE DRIVER AND OTHER DRIVERS AT RISK. AN EXAMPLE OF THIS IS ON SATURDAY NIGHT ON MY WAY HOME AT 8:30PM, I NOTICED THAT I DID NOT HAVE ANY DIM LIGHTS. I WAS NOT IN A POSITION TO GET THEM FIXED SO I HAD TO DRIVE TO MY HOUSE (WHICH-THANK GOD WAS CLOSE) WITH MY BRIGHT LIGHTS. THIS PUTS THE ONCOMING DRIVERS AT RISK OF BLINDING AND THE DRIVER IS PUT IN A AWKWARD POSITION FOR LIGHTS. *NM
2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. FRONT DIFFERENTIAL GASKET ACCORDING TO GM CERTIFIED MECHANIC HAS AN EXPECTED LIFE EXPECTANCY OF LESS THAN 45,000 MILES. GASKET STARTS TO LEAK AND CAN RUIN FRONT DIFFERENTIAL. NORMAL FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. *NM
