WHEN I PULLED INTO DRIVEWAY, I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, AND TURNED THE KEY OFF, AND ACTUALLY PULLED THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION SWITCH, WITH THE VEHICLE STILL RUNNING. I BACKED THE CAR UP, WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, WHERE I STARTED SMELLING WIRES BURNING. I CALLED FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND THEY PUT FIRE OUT ON THE FUSE BOX, WITH EVERYTHING MELTED AROUND IT. I HAVE HAD MINOR PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR, I.E. WHEEL BEARING AND BRAKES, BUT, NOTHING LIKE THIS. WHILE MY 14 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND I WERE IN THE CAR AT THE TIME, WE DID GET OUT, AND NO ONE WAS HURT. *TR
AIR BAG AND SEAT BELT LIGHT STAY ON
DRIVER 55 MILES ON NORTH I-35 FREEWAY ENGINE LOST POWER AND DRIVER HAD NO POWER STEERING NO POWER BRAKES HIT RIGHT SIDE WALL AND HIT LEFT SIDE WALL ON FREEWAY FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT AND SAFETY BELT PULLED OUT OF HOLDER AND DRIVER WAS THROWN ALL OVER AUTO DRIVER HAD CONTACTED GM MOTORS AND THEY SAID THE AUTO WAS NOT ON RECALL LIST AND WAS SAFE AUTO HAD ONE PREVIOUS PROBLEM AS ABOVE LOSS OF POWER BUT ENGINE PICK UP POWER AND RAN THIS ACCIDENT WAS JUST LIKE THE GM RECALL ON THE SWITCH THE DRIVER INJURY SEVERE AND MAY NEVER WALK AGAIN DRIVER HAS HAD TWO SURGERIES AND STILL IN THE HOSPITAL SINCE 6 15 2014 THIS NEEDS TO BE ON THE GM REPORT FOR DEFECT AUTO LIST. *TR
GAS LEAK RUST AND CORROSION. *JS
THERE IS A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE VAPORS COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, A CRACK CAN BE SEEN IN THE NECK OF THE FUEL TANK. WHEN FILLING THE VEHICLE, FUEL SPILLS OUT OF THE TANK FROM THE CRACK. THE FUEL GAUGE CLUSTER IN THE DASH DOESN'T WORK. THE BLOWER ON THE A/C UNIT DOESN'T WORK ON THE HIGHEST (5) LEVEL. ALSO, THE FAN CLUTCH WENT OUT CAUSING THE CAR TO OVERHEAT SEVERELY. THE FAN DOES NOT ENGAGE, CAUSING THE WATER PUMP SHAFT TO BECOME DAMAGED. ALSO, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW QUIT FUNCTIONING, DESPITE BUYING AN EXPENSIVE NEW REGULATOR AND REPLACING IT. HAVING RESEARCHED THE ISSUES, I FIND THAT I AM AMONG HUNDREDS, POSSIBLY THOUSANDS OF UNSATISFIED PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE. NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATIONS. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT OFFER A REMEDY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, MY CAR SHUT OFF AND I ALMOST DROVE OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE ALL OF THE LIGHTS SHUT OFF AND I LOST CONTROL OF MY POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. *TR
GOODYEAR TIRES CRACKING, ALL FOUR TIRES, P245/6517 FORTERA SILENT ARMOR PURCHASED JULY 22, 2010. TIRE IDENTIFICATION: DOT PJ8T 65HR 1910, APPROXIMATE 23,000 MILES, TREAD DEPTH REMAINING 8/32. THESE TIRES ARE CRACKING IN THREADS, CIRCUMFERENCE AND RIM LINE. I HAVE CONTRACTED GOODYEAR CASE #1402275. THEY WILL GIVE ME A TIRE CREDIT OF $182.82, I FEEL THESE SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. THERE IS NO ABUSE ON THESE TIRES, WELL MAINTAINED, NO CUPPING. I HAVE MANY PICTURES THAT I WOULD LIKE TO EMAIL. I WILL BE PURCHASING NEW TIRES 06-09-2014. *TR
STOPPED ALONG INTERSTATE FOR GAS LAST NIGHT. STARTED THE VEHICLE AFTER FILLING UP AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE, THE RADIO WAS DEAD, THE A/C WAS BLOWING HOT AIR ON HIGH FAN (WHICH I COULD NOT TURN DOWN OR OFF), THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WERE OUT AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS / TAIL LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. RESTARTED THE VEHICLE 3 TIMES WITH NO CHANGE. PLACED THE VEHICLE IN GEAR TO MOVE TO A PARKING SPOT AND EVERYTHING STARTED WORKING AGAIN. DROVE REMAINING 70 MILES DOWN THE INTERSTATE W/O FURTHER ISSUE. DROVE VEHICLE TO WORK AND HOME TODAY. PULLED INTO DRIVEWAY, PUT VEHICLE IN PARK AND GOT OUT TO OPEN GARAGE DOOR. GOT BACK IN VEHICLE, PUT IT IN GEAR AND RAN INTO THE SAME PROBLEM FROM LAST NIGHT. THIS VEHICLE'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAS BEEN WACKY FROM THE DAY I PURCHASED IT BRAND NEW. A/C OR HEAT GOES OUT INTERMITTENTLY, INSTRUMENTS QUIT WORKING, BATTERY SUDDENLY DRAINS, WINDSHIELD WIPERS COME ON BY THEMSELVES (EVEN AFTER THE RECALL WORK), CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGES FOR NO REASON, HEADLIGHTS/TAILLIGHTS FAIL, ETC. SERVICE TECH'S WILLINGLY ADMIT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, BUT GM WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE IT NOR ISSUE A RECALL. I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN RID OF THE [XXX] THING ALONG TIME AGO, BUT MY WIFE LOVES IT BECAUSE OF THE ROOM. SHUT OFF VEHICLE , GOT OUT OF DRIVERS SIDE. SHUT DOOR AND AS I CLOSED DOOR ALL MY LOCKS ON DOOR LOCKED DOWN. MY GRANDAUGHTER WAS STRAPPED INTO A CAR SEAT IN THE BACK SEAT AND WE WERE UNABLE TO OPEN DOORS TO GET HER OUT. WE HAD TO CONTACT POLICE AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET DOORS TO UNLOCK. THE LOCKS WOULD NOT WORK THE WINDOWS WOULD NOT WORK , THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY LOCKED DOWN . AFTER 30 MINUTES OF TRYING TO GET INTO CAR WE FINALLY GOT MY GRANDAUGHTER TO SQUEEZE OUT OF HER CAR SEAT UPON COAXING HER WE GOT HER TO GET HER CAR SEAT BELT UNLOCKED , SHE TRIED PUSHING THE DOOR LOCK BUTTONS BUT NOTHING WOULD WORK, WE HAD HER TRY TO USE WINDOW BUTTONS BUT THEY WOULD NOT WORK EITHER , WE TRIED HAVING HER MANUALLY UNLOCK DOOR BUT THEY WOULD UNLOCK BUT DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK. UPON DESPAIR WE HAD HER TAKE KEY OUT OF IGNITION AND I CAREFULLY HAD HER PUSH UNLOCK BUTTON ON KEY CHAIN AND FINALLY THEY ENGAGED AND UNLOCKED THE DOORS AND WINDOWS AND WE GOT HER OUT. THIS COULD'VE BEEN A REAL DANGEROUS INCIDENT IF SHE WOULD OF NOT BEEN ABLE TO FOLLOW MY DIRECTIONS THANK GOD SHE WAS SMART. OR IF CAR WOULD OF BEEN RUNNING I DON'T KNOW WHAT COULD'VE HAPPENED . THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE I WAS IN PASSENGER SIDE WHILE MY HUSBAND WENT INTO BANK AND STORE. I BECAME LOCKED IN THE CAR . I THINK THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BECAUSE I HAVE READ THIS HAPPENING TO MANY TRAILBLAZERS OWNERS. THIS COULD BE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. *JS
INSTRUMENT PANEL NOT WORKING. TACHOMETER GET STUCK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED BETWEEN DRIVE AND OVERDRIVE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THERE WAS A FUEL ODOR WHEN DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT KIT AND THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED OPERATING WHILE THE SWITCH WAS IN THE OFF POSITION. THE WIPERS COULD NOT BE SHUT OFF AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS OF TURNING THE SWITCH TO OFF AND ON POSITIONS. UPON CONTACTING CHEVROLET RECALL NUMBER AND REFERENCING NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 04V046000, I WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL. CONFUSION COMES IN THAT THE VEHICLE RECALL SPECIFIES 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND MAKES NO REFERENCE TO SPECIFICS ABOUT VIN NUMBER THAT CHEVROLET MAKES THE STATEMENT THAT VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED FOR RECALL. JUST DOES NOT PASS THE EYE OR SMELL TEST FOR COMMON SENSE!!!!! *JS
WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TO LANSING WHEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I LOST ALL POWER AND GUAGE FUNCTION.I BEGAN TO HEAR A LOUD HOWLING NOISE, PULLED OFF AT THE EXIT WENT TO THE REPAIR SHOP IN PORTLAND, MI WHERE MY WHEEL HUB EXPLODED IN THEIR HAND ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE FAN CLUTCH HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING WITCH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT, AND LOOSE ALL POWER AND MY 4 WHEEL DRIVE LOCKED RIGHT UP AND STOPPED WORKING. THIS WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AT A RATE OF 70 MPH BECAUSE THE VEHICLE SLOWED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO 25 AND HAD NO POWER. I HAVE HAD SO MANY ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE THAT I AM NOW CHECKING FOR RECALLS TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED COMPLETELY.
WAS MAKING A TURN AT LOW SPEED WHEN POWER STEERING FAILED. HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES SINCE. *TR
THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT DUE TO A SECOND PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP FOR GAS LEAK, WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE CAUSED BY 2 DIFFERENT, WELL-KNOWN FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEMS. GM OFFERED NO SOLUTION TO EITHER PROBLEM BECAUSE I'M 3 MONTHS OUTSIDE OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. MY TOTAL BILL FOR BOTH LEAKS WAS $1,500. BOTH LEAKS ARE KNOWN SAFETY PROBLEMS, AS REFERENCED IN BULLETINS 07099 AND 07076. I WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN BECAUSE OF THE LEAKS. GAS TANK REPLACEMENT IS NOT WHAT I CONSIDER NORMAL A MAINTENANCE ITEM. IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND THESE TANKS NEED TO BE RECALLED. *TR
THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE.I AM 3RD OWNER. 2ND OWNER HAD SAME PROBLEM. THE SPEEDOMETER FAILS TO REGISTER CORRECT SPEED. I AM CURRENTLY USING A AUTOMOTIVE SCAN TOOL TO VERIFY ACTUAL SPEED. THE MOST INTERESTING THING ABOUT THIS IS IT DOES NOT OCCUR ALL OF THE TIME. JUST WHEN I AM GETTING 19.5 MPH OR BETTER WITH A LOT OF TRAFFIC. 1 WEEK AGO I HAD 20 VEHICLES IN BACK OF ME. TURNS OUT MY SPEEDOMETER WAS 20 MILES AN HOUR OFF. I WAS GOING 35 IN A 55 MPH ZONE.GOOD THING I HAD MY SCAN TOOL WITH ME. THIS IS A PROBLEM GM HAS RECALLED OTHER VEHICLES FOR. MY QUESTION IS WHY THE NHTSA IS ALLOWING THIS. THESE ARE THE SAME CLUSTERS THAT WERE RECALLED FOR THE SILVERADO. WHY EVEN HAVE AN AGENCY AS IMPORTANT AS THIS ONE IF IT DOES NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT ALL OF THESE COMPLAINTS. THERE ARE MANY SPEEDOMETER COMPLAINTS.GM SAYS REPLACE THE CLUSTER .IT STILL WORKS SOME OF THE TIME SO WHAT IS THE REAL ISSUE. IT SHOULD HAVE COMPLETELY FAILED BY NOW IF IT WERE ELECTRICAL OR MECHANICAL. THE OWNER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS. WHY DISCRIMINATE AGAINST TRAILBLAZER OWNERS. NOT EVEN AN INVESTIGATION. *TR
THE GAS GAUGE STARTED MESSING UP/NOT READING RIGHT ESPECIALLY IN THE RAIN AND THEN SHORTLY AFTER THAT THE SPEEDOMETER STARTED DOING THE SAME THING. NOW NEITHER ONE WILL WORK AT ALL. THIS STARTED ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO AND QUIT WORKING ALL TOGETHER ABOUT 1 YEAR AGO. I HEARD THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO ALOT OF TRAILBLAZERS. THIS STARTED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE INTAKE CONTROL VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TR
THE CAR TAKES OFF AS IF IT DOESN'T WANT TO ALLOW SHIFT CHANGE. IT AUTOMATICALLY CHANGES ON IT'S ON. TRANSMISSION STARTING TO SLIP. *TR
WHERE THE GAS FILLER NECK CONNECTS TO THE GAD TANK THIS AREA DEVELOPS A CRACK ALLOWING GAS TO LEAK FROM THE VEHICLE AND DURING FILLING UP TO A COUPLE QUARTS OF GAS CAN RUN ONTO CEMENT BY THE PUMP, ALSO STRONG GAS SMELL IN THE GARAGE.. THIS ALSO TRIGGERS THE CHECK MOTOR LIGHT. ACCORDING TO INTERNET POSTINGS OTHER TRAIL BLAZER OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
FUEL LEAK ON TOP OF FUEL TANK. THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE, AND AN EXTENDED SERVICE/WARRANTY WAS ADDED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN AS-IS. I DID NOT RECEIVE NOTICE OF THIS WARRANTY. GM REFUSES TO OFFER ANY MORE THAN A 10% DISCOUNT, EVEN THOUGH 3 MONTHS PRIOR THIS SAME DEFECT WOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED AT NO COST UNDER THE SPECIAL WARRANTY COVERAGE. I WAS WILLING TO SPLIT THE COST 50/50, BUT NO OTHER OPTIONS WERE DEEMED ACCEPTABLE BY GM. MY VEHICLE IS UNDER THE 120,000 MILE CUTOFF AS SPECIFIED IN THE EXTENDED SERVICE, BUT 3 MONTHS OUT OF DATE. BEING THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND SEVERE FIRE HAZARD, I FEEL GM SHOULD OFFER A BETTER SOLUTION AND AT THE MINIMUM A REDUCED COST REPAIR. *TR
2003 TRAILBLAZER LTZ. I'VE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE GAUGES ON THE DASHBOARD. OIL GAUGE WENT OUT ABOUT A YEAR AGO, THEN THE FUEL GAUGE WENT OUT ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO, AND NOW THE RPM JUST WENT OUT A FEW WEEKS AGO. ARE THERE A RECALL TO FIX THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM ON THE DASHBOARD? I WAS ABLE TO LOOK AT THE ODOMETER AND SEE HOW MANY MILES I HAVE LEFT UNTIL I NEED TO FILL UP. *TR
THIS IS A THIRD TIME THE ABS WARNING LIGHT HAS COME ON MALFUNCTIONING SAYING WE NEED SERVICE ONCE IN MONTANA AND THEN ANOTHER INCIDENT IN 2008. "SERVICE BRAKES, AIR ANTILOCK ABS WARNING LIGHTS COME ON IN THE DRIVERS INFORMATION CENTER. HOWEVER, IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME IT GETS 5 TO 10 DEGREES OR MORE BELOW ZERO. THE FIRST TIME I TOOK IT INTO GARAGE AND THEY CLEANED UP THE ABS GROUND CONNECTION ON THE FRAME. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE A PERSON DOESN'T KNOW IF IT IS ACCURATE OR ANOTHER FALSE ALERT. I WOULD HOPE THAT OTHER PERSONS REPORT THESE ISSUES, AND THAT THE MANUFACTURERS WOULD BE FORCED TO REPAIR THE ISSUE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, A BURNING ODOR WAS PRESENT INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DIAGNOSED THAT A FAILED ELECTRICAL WIRING ATTACHED TO THE HEATER BLOWER CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE CONTACT ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
REAR PIECE ABOVE HATCH WHICH HOLDS THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT, CAME OFF AND WAS DANGLING BY THE WIRE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF IT FALLS OFF. THIS IS HELD ON BY DOUBLE STICK TAPE. GM NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, THEY REDESIGNED THE PIECE AND THAT TELLS ME THEY KNOW IT IS DANGEROUS. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED TWO DAYS PRIOR AND HE HAD TO REPLACE THE WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT WITH THE WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,000.
ABOUT A WEEK AGO, THERE WAS A STRONG ODOR OF GAS INSIDE THE CAR. IT APPEARS ALSO THAT I HAVE BEEN LOSING FUEL AS MY TANK WENT DOWN MUCH QUICKER THAN NORMAL. I DID LOOK AT THE GAS TANK TODAY AND I SEE WHAT APPEARS TO BE A WET SPOT WHERE FUEL HAS LEAKED BUT DO NOT SEE A HOLE. I HAVE 2 YOUNG CHILDREN AND FEEL THIS IS A HAZARD AND DEFECT OF THE VEHICLE. I DO SEE THAT THERE WAS A BULLETIN ON THE EXT MODEL OF THE TRAILBLAZER AND FEEL THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
THE ENGINE JUST DIES WHILE DRIVING. THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY STARTED TO HEAR A BANGING NOISE TURNS OUT IT WAS MY PLASTIC THAT'S ABOVE MY HATCH WHERE MY 3 RED BRAKE LIGHT IS IT HASN'T FALLEN OFF YET JUST LOOSE AND FLOPPING AROUND I HAVE READ THIS HAPPENS TO A LOT OF TRAILBLAZER THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL ON THIS AND EVEN YOU GUYS ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM THE MOLDING WHICH IS DOUBLE SIDED TAPE IS NOT A PROPER USE FOR THIS THE COMPANY SHOULD HAVE TO FIX IT IS IT GONNA TAKE ONE FLYING OFF AND CAUSING A DEATH AND MAJOR ACCIDENT BEFORE ANYONE DOES SOMETHING? *TR
IN THE PAST 3 YEARS VEHICLE HAD GAS ODOR UPON EXITING VEHICLE UPON USE. UNTIL RECENTLY, FUEL STARTED LEAKING PROFUSELY WHEN VEHICLE WAS RUNNING. GENERAL MOTORS ISSUED EXTENDED WARRANTY DUE TO MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE. WE BEING THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE VEHICLE WERE NEVER SENT ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THE EXTENSION OF ANY FACTORY WARRANTY REGARDING THIS ISSUE. AFTER CONTACTING GENERAL MOTORS ABOUT THIS ISSUE, THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE IS BEYOND THE YEAR AND MILEAGE OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. IF WE WOULD OF BEEN NOTIFIED BY GM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WITH LEAKING FUEL TANKS WE WOULD OF RESOLVED THIS ISSUE WHEN WE STARTED SMELLING THE FUMES A FEW YEARS BACK WHEN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WOULD OF BEEN IN EFFECT. AFTER CONTACTING GM AND SPEAKING WITH A REPRESENTATIVE, THEY REFUSED TO HONOR THE WARRANTY. GM NEGLECTED TO CONTACT AND INFORM US OF ANY EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT APPLIED TO OUR VEHICLE REGARDING THIS ISSUE. WE FEEL THAT THIS PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL TANK IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD BE A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY TO ANYONE INSIDE OR AROUND THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO TRACTION AND THE VEHICLE SLID INTO TRAFFIC, CRASHING INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. THE DRIVER OF THE SECOND VEHICLE SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE WHEEL HUB AND SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 73,400.

I WAS AT A DRIVE THRU PHARMACY WHEN MY GEAR SHIFTER CABLE (BROKE) AND WAS STUCK IN PARK. IT WOULD NOT MOVE. I HAD TO GET TOWED TO MY MECHANIC'S GARAGE, LUCKILY ABOUT 1 MILE DOWN THE ROAD. PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING, I HAD NOTICED THE GEAR SHIFTER VERY LOOSE FOR ATLEAST A YEAR!! THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THERE HAD BEEN ALOT OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE ON THEIR CHEVROLETS. THE CHEVROLET PARTS DEALER TOLD MY MECHANIC THE SAME THING. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THE DEFECTIVE GEAR SHIFTER CABLE. I COULD HAVE BEEN AT A MAJOR INTERSECTION WHEN THIS HAPPENED. DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 TO 43 MPH WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE TURNED DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME. TOTAL FRONTAL DAMAGE BUCKLING UP HOOD ON MY CAR AS I HIT OTHER VEHICLE IN FRONT-END PASSENGER SIDE. WHY IS THIS CAMPAIGN (07099) A LIMITED TSB & NOT A SAFETY RECALL? VEHICLE WOULD NOT PASS STATE EMISSIONS INSPECTION. TECHNICIAN REPAIRED LEAK WITH EPOXY THAT SEALED LONG ENOUGH TO PREVENT VAPOR LEAKAGE TO PASS EMISSION TEST.NOW THAT HAS FAILED AND ONCE AGAIN VEHICLE WILL NOT PASS EMISSIONS. MORE IMPORTANTLY THE FUEL VAPORS EMITTING FROM VEHICLE MAKE IT UNSAFE AND IMPOSSIBLE TO PARK IN AN ENCLOSED AREA.THIS IS NOT DUE TO A WORN PART OR CORROSION,THIS IS DUE TO A FAULTY DESIGN THAT EVENTUALLY WILL CAUSE AN EXPLOSION.WORSE YET GM OFFERS NO DISCOUNT ON THIS VERY EXPENSIVE TANK ASSEMBLY TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM.I CAN NOT THINK OF A MORE DANGEROUS CONDITION THAT HAS BEEN SO IGNORED.PERHAPS WHEN THE FIRES START THERE WILL BE ANOTHER CONGRESSIONAL HEARING ABOUT GM'S ABILITY TO RESPOND TO SUCH A SERIOUS AND POSSIBLY LOSS OF LIFE HAZARD THAT THEY REFUSE TO ASSIST OWNERS IN CORRECTING. *TR
VEHICLES WIPER MOTOR DOES NOT TURN OFF.THIS CAUSES A DISTRACTION WHILE DRIVING. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IT IS TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PULL THE FUSE. DEALER STATED THERE WAS A RECALL FOR 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM BUT NOT FOR MY VEHICLE BECAUSE IT DIDN'T HAVE THE PROPER VIN NUMBER. RECALL # 41051. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE CAME OFF THE LEVER CONNECTED TO THE TRANSMISSION THUS LEAVING ME STUCK IN REVERSE DURING THIS RECENT EVENT. I HAD TO DRIVE THE CAR IN REVERSE TO PARK IT SAFELY OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC. THE PROBLEM RESULTED FROM A PLASTIC BUSHING THAT CONNECTS THE CABLE TO THE LEVER, SEE GM # 15785087. IN MY OPINION THIS BUSHING WAS NOT DESIGNED TO WITHSTAND THE NORMAL LIFE OF THE CAR DUE TO THE DEGRADATION OF THE BUSHING WHICH ESSENTIALLY SNAPPED IN TWO PIECES AND ALLOWED THE CABLE TO DISLODGE FROM THE TRANSMISSION AND LEAVING THE DRIVER STUCK IN WHATEVER GEAR THEY HAPPEN TO BE IN. LUCKILY THE CAR WAS ABLE TO BE TURNED OFF AFTER SAFELY BEING REMOVED FROM TRAFFIC. I HAD TO TIE WRAP CABLE BACK TO LEVER TO PLACE IN THE PROPER GEAR IE. PARK. GM SHOULD HAVE DESIGNED A MORE RIGID LINKAGE CONNECTION WITH A SAFETY PIN TO PREVENT THIS DISLODGING. THE OTHER ISSUE IS THAT THE CONSOLE HAS TO BE REMOVED TO REPLACE THE CABLE THUS LEAVING THE AVERAGE OWNER STUCK IN HAVING TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND INCUR THE COST UPWARDS OF $300.00 TO REPLACE IT. *TR
I HAVE A 2003 TRAILBLAZER THAT HAS A SPEEDOMETER THAT DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY, ON THE HIGHWAY THE SPEEDS VARY AND SOMETIMES SHOW THAT IT IS GOING 0 MILES FOR HOURS OTHER TIMES IT WILL SHOW DIFFERENT SPEEDS SUCH AS 35 OR 45 WHILE DRIVING AT THE SAME SPEED OF TRAFFIC WHICH IS 70 MPH. THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE IS STUCK BEYOND THE HIGHEST LEVER AND AT INTERMITTENT TIMES THE TACHOMETER DOES NOT WORK. THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE WITH THE HEATING AND COOLING FAN WHERE THE FAN WILL NOT BLOW AT ALL AND YOU HAVE TO SHUT THE CAR DOWN AND RESTART IT TO GET THE FAN TO BLOW AT ALL. THE AC AND HEAT ARE ALSO NOT CHANGING IN TEMPERATURE AT ALL. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SPEEDOMETER AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND FIND IT RIDICULOUS THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL PUT FORTH ON THIS, ESPECIALLY TO ENSURE MOTORISTS ARE TRAVELING AT THE CORRECT SPEEDS ENSURING THE SAFETY FOR ALL AND THAT GM HAS NOT OFFERED ANY TYPE OF RECALL FOR THE TRAILBLAZER BUT HAS ON DIFFERENT MODELS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM IN THE SAME MODEL YEARS. *TR

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED WHIPLASH, NECK PAINS, BACK PAINS, ARM PAINS, AND PAIN TO THE RIB CAGE THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE WHERE AN INVESTIGATOR WAS TO DETERMINE THE AIR BAG FAILURE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN TWO OTHER CRASHES WHERE THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DETAILS OF THE OTHER TWO CRASHES WERE NOT AVAILABLE. WHEN GETTING INTO VEHICLE ALL MY DASHBOARD GAUGES JUST STOPPED WORK, NO SPEED, GAS, OIL PRESSURE ETC. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING IN SLOW TRAFFIC, THE CAR IN FRONT OF MY WIFE STOPPED. BY THE TIME SHE NOTICED THEY STOPPED IT WAS TOO LATE AND SHE HIT THE BACK OF THEIR FORD EXPLORER MOVING AT AROUND 20-30MPH. THE FRONT END OF OUR TRAILBLAZER WAS CRUSHED. MY DAUGHTER AND WIFE WERE WEARING THEIR SEAT BELTS. THE OFFICERS AND PARAMEDICS ON THE SCENE WERE SHOCKED THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT COME OUT WITH THE AMOUNT OF FRONT END DAMAGE. THEY HAD TO CUT THE BATTERY WIRES TO PREVENT THE AIRBAG FROM COMING OUT LATER WHEN SHE CLEANED OUT THE TRAILBLAZER. AN EXAMPLE OF HOW MUCH DAMAGE WAS TAKEN TO THE FRONT END, THE CORNER FENDERS WERE PUSHED BACK SO FAR THEY COULDN'T OPEN WITHER FRONT DOOR. THE FENDERS WERE CRUSHED INTO THE DOORS KEEPING THEM SHUT. I WOULD THINK WITH AN IMPACT LIKE THAT THE AIRBAGS WOULD HAVE CAME OUT, IT WAS A SQUARE HIT MEANING EVEN DAMAGE ACROSS THE FRONT END. *TR
