I PURCHASED MY 2003 CHEV TRAILBLAZER NEW IN 2003. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. IT WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I JUST WENT OUTSIDE AND UNLOCKED IT TO PUT SOMETHING IN THE VEHICLE AND LOCKED IT BACK. ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO LATER, I HEARD THE HORN START TO BLOW BUT THE KEYS WERE HANGING UP INSIDE THE HOUSE. I WENT OUT TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TRYING TO CRANK ON ITS ON SEVERAL TIMES. THEN I SMELLED SOMETHING AND RAISED THE HOOD AND THE FUSE BOX LOCATED UNDER THE HOOD WAS MELTING. WE DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY BUT IT HAD ALREADY MELTED THE BOX BY THAT TIME. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THEY DIDN'T KNOW IF THERE WAS A RECALL OR NOT. I NEED FOR SOMEONE TO TELL ME WHY A VEHICLE WOULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT WHEN I WAS NOT EVEN DRIVING IT AT THE TIME AND IF HOPEFULLY THERE IS SOME KIND OF RECALL BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD WHAT THEY ARE TELLING ME IT WILL TAKE TO FIX IT. THEY SAID IT DESTROYED ALL THREE WIRING HARNESSES. ??
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EQUIPPED WITH BF GOODRICH RUGGED TRAIL T/A TIRES, SIZE: P245/65RI7. WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A VIBRATION COMING FROM THE TIRES. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A POLE. THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE THREADS FROM THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE HAD SEPARATED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED HEAD, SHOULDER, ELBOW, AND HIP INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE AND TIRE MANUFACTURERS WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION TWICE NOW I HAVE IN FACT REPORTED TO GM ASKING IF THERE WAS ANY RECOURSE I MAY TAKE AND THEY SIMPLY FLAT OUT TOLD ME NO! SO I STARTED HEARING A NOISE AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO NOT SHIFT PROPERLY TO THE POINT YOU COULD NOT DRIVE IT. TO ME THIS I CONSIDER THIS A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION BECAUSE IF IT STOPPED MOVING ALTOGETHER I'D BE ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF AN ACCIDENT OCCURRING. I DO HAVE AN INVOICE BUT NO SCANNER, IT DID COST ME 3K OR BETTER ON BOTH OCCASIONS TO REPLACE IT. I'D LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE'S ANYTHING I'M ABLE TO DO TO BE REIMBURSED FOR ANY OR ALL OF THE INCONVENIENCE I'VE CONCURRED.
I PURCHASED A 2003 TRAILBLAZER FROM AN INDIVIDUAL. THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL HAD A HOLE IN IT. SO I PURCHASED A DIFFERENTIAL FROM A SCRAP YARD. 90 DAY WARRANTY. STILL HAD A NOISE . I STILL HAD A NOISE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL WAS OUT AGAIN. I PURCHASED THE THIRD DIFFERENTIAL FROM A DIFFERENT YARD TOOK IT APART . FOUND THE DRIVER SIDE BEARING BAD. IT SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM BECAUSE THE DRIVER SIDE DRIVERS CONSTANT. I WAS WONDERING IF THERE IS A RECALL. I SEE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE. THANK YOU THERE WAS A FIRE THE DIFFERENTIAL GREASE BURNT BEARING WENT OUT AND CHARD MOTOR AND SURROUNDING AREA NO REAL DAMAGE. *TR
I HAVE FILED A PRIOR COMPLAINT AND THE NUMBER IS #10695487. I CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS AND HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED SO TERRIBLE IN MY LIFE. THE PERSON ON THE PHONE TOLD ME TO EITHER TAKE IT TO A DEALER ( WITH NO HELP FROM GM TO CHECK IT) OR GET OVER IT AND HUNG UP. I AM STILL HAVING THE FUEL LEAKING AND WITH NO HELP FROM GM I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FIX IT. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IT FIXED BECAUSE IN MY MIND IT IS A DEFECT ON GM PART AND THEY DO NOT WANT TO OWN UP TO IT. PLEASE HELP WITH THIS ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT 370. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE HATCH DOOR AJAR LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND FAILED TO LATCH WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
VEHICLE STARTED LEAVING SPOTS OF OIL ON THE GROUND OVER NIGHT. WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON WEDNESDAY AND A BLUISH CLOUD OF SMOKE WAS TRAILING BEHIND ME. ARRIVED AT WORK AND LET TRUCK COOL DOWN AFTER WHICH I CRAWLED UNDERNEATH AND WITH A MIRROR WAS ABLE TO LOCATE THE LEAKING REAR MAIN SEAL. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH GM,S 5.3 LITER ENGINES. MULTIPLE FORUMS ARE POSTING MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE. GM NEEDS TO STAND BEHIND THERE PRODUCTS AND REPAIR THIS ISSUE WHICH AGAIN IS A WIDE SPREAD KNOWN PROBLEM. *TR
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AND THERE WAS A STRONG GAS ODOR. GAS HAD ALSO PREVIOUSLY SPILLED OUT WHEN FUELUNG.
I HAVE A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND IT STARTED TO HAVE THE SMELL OF GAS AND A DIP FROM THE FUEL TANK. I WAS WONDERING IF THIS WAS A FIX THAT WOULD BE COVERED BY GENERAL MOTORS. I HAVE ONLY OWNED THIS VEHICLE A YEAR AND LIVE ON A VERY LIMITED INCOME. I LOVE THIS VEHICLE AND DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO PART WITH IT BUT I NEED A VEHICLE TO GO TO DOCTORS AND HOSPITALS FOR MEDICAL ISSUES. PLEASE HELP IN GETTING THIS FIXED. *TR
AFTER A LONG DAY OF WORK, I RETURNED TO MY PARKED VEHICLE TO DISCOVER A TOTALLY FLAT FRONT RIGHT TIRE, ON CLOSER EXAMINATION IT WAS NOTED THAT THE TIRE HAD SPLIT ON THE OUTSIDE SEAM. IT WAS NOTED THAT THE SAME CONDITION OF THE TIRE SPLITTING WAS VISIBLE ON ALL THREE OF THE OTHER TIRES ON THE VEHICLE. FLAT TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH SPARE TIRE THAT HAD NEVER BEEN USED. I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE PLACE THAT I HAD PURCHASED THE TIRES; THE TECH AT THE STORE EXAMINED THE TIRES AND DECLARED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES WERE MANUFACTURED FROM THE SAME BATCH OF TIRES MANUFACTURED BY GOODYEAR. AND THAT ALL FOUR WERE DEFECTED. TODAY I CONTACTED GOODYEAR AND TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THEIR LOCATION. THE MAN AT GOODYEAR STATED THAT GOODYEAR HAS NEVER HAD A RECALL NOR DEFECTIVE TIRES. THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT GOODYEAR WHEN THEY OPENED ON THE EAST COAST. MY COMPLAINT IS WITH GOODYEAR. AND THE VALIDITY OF THE GOODYEAR TECH STATING THAT GOODYEAR HAS NEVER HAD A DEFECTIVE TIRE OR RECALL ON THEIR TIRES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER LIGHT, REAR BRAKE LIGHT, AND REAR DRIVER SIDE TAIL LIGHT MALFUNCTIONED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE LIGHTS MALFUNCTIONED DUE TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK MALFUNCTIONED AND THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT A CLIP INSIDE THE DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM FRACTURED. THE CLIP WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
THE AREA AROUND THE FUEL TANK FILLER NECK, WHERE IT CONNECTS TO THE FUEL TANK, IS LEAKING. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH 2002 - 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT'S AND GMC ENVOY XL'S. IT IS COVERED UNDER GENERAL MOTORS SPECIAL COVERAGE PROGRAM #14423 FOR 15 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES. MY TRAILBLAZER NOW HAS 180,000 MILES ON IT AND I HAVE BEEN SMELLING GASOLINE FUMES IN THE AREA OF THE FILLER NECK FOR A LONG TIME, BUT I DIDN'T KNOW WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM. I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS PROGRAM AND CHECKED THE FILLER NECK AREA AND FOUND THE LEAK. BECAUSE THE VEHICLE'S MILEAGE IS OUTSIDE THE MILEAGE LIMIT OF THE PROGRAM, GM WILL NOT COVER THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL TANK AND FILLER ASSEMBLY. I AM STUCK WITH A VEHICLE THAT MAY BE HAZARDOUS TO DRIVE, BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE.

THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT DID NOT RESTRAIN THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED CHEST, NECK, AND KNEE INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
I PARKED MY VEHICLE ON 1/15/2015 AND SMELLED GAS. I LOOKED EVERYWHERE BUT HAVE NOT FOUND A LEAK. I AM STILL SMELLING GAS AS OF 1/20/2015. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE STORAGE TANK ASSEMBLY FAILED AND WAS LEAKING. THE ENTIRE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
THE PROBLEM HAPPENS WHEN COMING TO A STOP THE ENGINE WILL SURGE OR JUMP AS MUCH AS 2000 RPM'S AND YOU REALLY HAVE TO BE ON THE BRAKE TO HOLD IT. GO TO NEUTRAL LET IT REV THEN IT WILL COME BACK TO NORMAL. THE LAST TIME WAS ON A SNOW PACKED INTERSECTION WITH TWO OTHER VEHICLES IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS. THE BAD THING IS YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN IT'S GOING TO DO IT. HAD IT TO SEVERAL GARAGES AND NOBODY CAN DUPLICATE IT AND IT SHOWS NO CODES. *TR
THERE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE GAS TANKS ON THESE VEHICLES. THE VAPORS CAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE. IN NYS THIS CAR WILL NOT PASS THE YEARLY INSPECTION. CHEVROLET HAS AN EXTENDED COVERAGE BULLETIN OUT BUT IT ONLY IS FOR VEHICLES THAT HAVE LES THAN 150,000 MILES ON IT OR ARE NOT OLDER THAN 15 YEARS OLD. WHICHEVER COME FIRST. PRIOR TO THIS, THEIR EXTENDED COVERAGE WAS FOR 150,000 MILES OR 12 YEARS. I WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE FIRST TIME DUE TO AGE OF THE VEHICLE WHEN I PURCHASED IT AND AM NOW EXCLUDED FROM THE SECOND EXTENDED COVERAGE DUE TO THE MILEAGE. IT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS THAT THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL RECALL AND THAT CHEVY HAS LOOPHOLED NUMEROUS OWNERS OUT OF THE COVERAGE BY NOT INCREASING THE MILEAGE REQUIREMENT. THE NATIONAL AVERAGE TO DRIVE A CAR ACCORDING TO THE NHTSA IS BETWEEN 15,000 AND 16,000 PER YEAR. ACCORDING TO THEIR MILEAGE REQUIRES A PERSON WOULD HAVE HAD TO DRIVE THIS CAR LESS THAT 10,000 PER YEAR. THIS IS TOTALLY UNREALISTIC. SINCE THIS SAFETY ISSUE INVOLVES FUEL WHICH IS HIGHLY FLAMMABLE I AM BAFFLED AS TO WHY THE NHTSA IS NOT FORCING AN OFFICIAL; RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE OR FORCING CHEVY TO TAKE THE MILEAGE RESTRICTION/AGE OFF OF THE EXTENDED COVERAGE.
IT WAS SLEETING AND I LOST CONTROL ON A CURVE. I HAD BEEN DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPH, BUT BRAKE BEFORE THE CURVE AND BRAKE VERY HARD WHEN I TRIED TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AS IT WAS SLIDING SIDEWAYS TOWARD THE CURVE. I WENT OFF THE CURVE AND HIT AN ELEVATED CROSSROAD, WHICH SENT THE VEHICLE AIRBORNE. I WAS AIRBORNE OVER MOST OF THE SIDE ROAD, WITH THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE HITTING JUST THE LAST FEW INCHES OF PAVEMENT, WHICH THEN SENT THE VEHICLE NOSEDIVING INTO THE DITCH. THE EMBANKMENTS WERE 4-5 FEET TALL. I HAD TWO VERY HARD FRONT END IMPACTS AND HIT MY HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL TWICE. THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE WAS BENT AND THERE WAS A LOT OF DAMAGE TO THE UNDER OF THE VEHICLE, BUT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY. I HAVE A LOT OF CONCERN WITH THE FACT THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND KNOW THAT THERE WERE OTHER VEHICLES OF MY YEAR AND TYPE THAT DID HAVE FAULTY AIRBAGS RECALLED, BUT MINE HAS NOT BEEN. *TR
GAS HAS BEEN SPILLING OFF THE GAS TANK METAL FLANGE WHERE THE INTAKE HOSE ATTACHES TOO. CHEVROLET DEALER DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THIS AS A RECALL . APPARENTLY A FATALITY NEEDS TO BE DIRECTLY LINK TO THIS PROBLEM BEFORE THIS ISSUE IS ADDRESS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, A DEER JUMPED IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A NECK AND BACK INJURY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
TURNING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, THE CAR DOES NOT START AND THE KEY CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. IT IS STUCK IN THE ON POSITION, THE WHEEL DOES TURN BUT THE SHIFTER CANNOT BE TAKEN FROM THE PARK POSITION. CAR IS BEING TOWED TODAY TO AAA FOR ASSESSMENT AND REPAIR. I FOUND NO RECALL BUT AM CONCERNED WITH THE STUCK IGNITION IN THE ON POSITION AND THE KEY NOT BEING REMOVABLE. *TR
NHTSA ACTION NUMBER : PE07014 OCCURRED ON MY VEHICLE AROUND NOVEMBER 2014. THE PROBLEM PRESENTED AS P0442 CEL AND ODOR OF GAS AFTER PARKING IN GARAGE. GM HAS INDICATED BECAUSE THE SPECIAL CONSIDERATION ALLOWANCE HAS EXPIRED, DESPITE THE LOW MILEAGE THEY WILL DO NOTHING. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW IN AUGUST 2003. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY GM WAS NOT COMPELLED TO ISSUE A SAFETY RECALL DUE TO THE RISK OF GAS LEAKING. I WOULD APPRECIATE ASSISTANCE TO GET GM TO MINIMALLY PROVIDE DEFECTIVE PARTS REPLACEMENT, DUE TO THE KNOW MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN THE GAS TANK. *TR
FIRST THE RPM GAUGE STOPS WORKING PROPERLY, THEN THE TEMP AND OIL PRESSURE GAUGE DO THE SAME. AFTER ALL THAT YOU GET A CHECK GAUGES LIGHT AND A ANNOYING DINGING NOISE THAT WONT GO AWAY. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER IS NO LONGER REPORTING THE CORRECT VEHICLE SPEED. I MAY INDICATE 50MPH WHILE THE VEHICLE IS ACTUALLY GOING 20MPH, BUT IT IS NOT THE SAME EACH TIME THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN. THE IS THE SAME PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN WIDELY REPORTED ON MANY OTHER GM MODELS. *TR
DRIVER SIDE: SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING OR CAUSE WHILE SITTING AT STOPLIGHT. AIRBAG STRUCK RECENT LEFT SHOULDER SURGERY CAUSING PAIN IN RECOVERING AREA. ALSO CAUSED LEFT EAR RINGING FOR A COUPLE HOURS. MECHANIC AND CHEVROLET HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING HAPPENING. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING. DID RESEARCH AND THIS HAPPENS ALOT IN THIS VEHICLE AND YEAR. *TR
COMMUNICATED TO GM HELP CENTER 10/30/2014: MY 2003 CHEVY TRAIL BLAZER HAS A STRONG ODOR OF GAS IN THE REAR. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 63,000 MILES AND HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED. I "GOOGLED" THE PROBLEM AND FOUND IT TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE. IN PART: NHTSA #: PE07014 "IN JUNE 2007, GM WILL EXPAND ITS SPECIAL POLICY TO ADDRESS FUEL TANK INLET CHECK VALVE (ICV) FRACTURES." WILL YOU HELP ME REMEDY THIS PROBLEM? SHORT STORY, THEY REVIEWED MY DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM AND ULTIMATELY DECLINED ANY REMEDY. I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY HAS PASTED, BUT MY ISSUE IS I NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION AS NOTED IN NHTSA # PE07014. HAD I RECEIVED THAT NOTIFICATION I WOULD CERTAINLY HAVE FOLLOWED UP ON THE PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW AND HAS VERY LOW MILES FOR BEING A 2003. GOT INTO VEHICLE AS IT WAS PARKED. IT HAD RAINED THAT DAY SO AFTER I TURNED THE VEHICLE ON, I TURNED THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON BY ROTATING THE SWITCH BACKWARDS TOWARDS ME AND RELEASING. TYPICALLY THIS WILL CAUSE THE WIPERS TO TURN ON, COMPLETE ONE SWIPE UP AND DOWN AND THEN TURN OFF. ON THIS DAY, THE WIPERS STAYED ON LOW SPEED. I TRIED TURNING THE SWITCH ON AND OFF AND TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS, I PULLED THE FUSE. TWO DAYS LATER, I PUT THE FUSE BACK IN. THE WIPERS REMAIN OFF UNLESS I TURN THEM ON, THEN THEY WILL STAY ON AND THE CYCLE REPEATS. I NOTICED GM ISSUED A RECALL (# 41051) THAT DESCRIBES THE PROBLEM I AM EXPERIENCING. I CALLED GM AND WAS INFORMED THAT MY VIN WAS NOT INVOLVED WITH THE RECALL 41051. I THEN DID A GOOGLE SEARCH AND FOUND MULTIPLE INSTANCES WHERE VEHICLE OWNERS EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUES I EXPERIENCED WITH THE SAME MAKE MODEL AND YEAR OF MY VEHICLE AND THEY WERE ALSO TOLD THAT THEIR VIN DID NOT QUALIFY FOR RECALL 41051. I ASKED WHY MY VIN DID NOT QUALIFY FOR RECALL 41051 AND THE REPRESENTATIVE WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE THAT INFORMATION. I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO NOTE THAT RECALL 41051 STATES THERE ARE 581394 POTENTIAL AFFECTED VEHICLES AND THE VEHICLE AFFECTED IS THE 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER, NO OTHER YEARS ARE LISTED. ACCORDING TO MY RESEARCH, GM SOLD ONLY 261334 TRAILBLAZERS IN 2003. I WANT TO KNOW WHY MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM AS RECALLED VEHICLES BUT DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR RECALL 41051. SINCE IT WAS SPECIAL ORDER I WENT TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD THERE IS NO REPAIR KIT AND THAT THEY HAVE PLENTY OF SHIFTER CABLES IN STOCK $75.00 WENT AHEAD AND ORDERED AFTERMARKET PART SPECIAL ORDER 2 DAYS AND TODAY 3 DAYS LATER WAS TOLD OUT OF STOCK AND NONE AVAILABLE TIL DECEMBER. WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN OUR REAR PASSENGER DOOR FLEW OPEN, AND WILL NOT STAY CLOSED OR LOCK. I WAS DRIVING IN THE LEFT LANE ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 290 (YOUNGMAN HIGHWAY) AT ABOUT 65 M.P.H. WHEN SMOKE BEGAN WAFTING FROM THE AREA WHERE THE STEERING COLUMN MEETS THE DASHBOARD. I TOOK IMMEDIATE EVASIVE ACTION, PULLED ONTO AND OFF THE SHOULDER ONTO THE GRASS, SHUT THE ENGINE OFF, RAN TO THE BARRIER FENCE AND WATCHED TO SEE IF VEHICLE WAS GOING TO BURST INTO FLAMES. AFTER CALLING AAA, ABOUT TEN MINUTES HAD ELAPSED WITHOUT FURTHER SMOKE SO I ASSUMED I COULD DRIVE TO THE NEXT EXIT RAMP AT COLVIN BLVD. (ABOUT 1,000 FEET AWAY) AND OFF TO A WENDY'S PARKING LOT WHERE I WAITED FOR A AAA FLATBED TRUCK. MY SUV WAS FLATBED TOWED TO MY DEALERSHIP, FUCCILLO CHEVROLET ON GRAND ISLAND, WHERE THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH, CODE NUMBER C0379. TOTAL COST OF REPAIR WAS$222.66. IT WOULD BE NICE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THIS EXPENSE. THOUGH NO VISIBLE FIRE WAS OBSERVED, THE SMOKE WAS A CLEAR SIGN OF PROBLEM THAT WAS SO HOT IT CAUSED OXIDATION OF MATERIAL INTO VISIBLE SMOKE. *TR

I WAS DRIVING TO GO GET PIZZA WITH MY 15 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER. ONCE AT THE PIZZA PLACE I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE AND PROCEEDED TO PUT MY TRUCK IN PARK AND WENT TO TURN OFF IGNITION SWITCH AND IT WOULDN'T TURN OFF. I BECAME FRIGHTENED BECAUSE THAT WAS THE 4TH TIME THAT MY CAR WOULD NOT TURN OFF. A NICE MAN IN THE PARKING LOT CAME OVER TO TRY TO ASSIST ME AND HE COULD NOT GET IT TO TURN OFF EITHER. I WAS ABOUT TO CALL 911 AND I SAT BACK IN THE DRIVERS SEAT AND THE SWITCH FINALLY TURNED OFF. IT STAYED ON 20 MINUTES BEFORE IT CUT OFF. I BOUGHT A USED 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER 6CYLINDER 4W WITH THOSE156000. WELL SHORTLY AFTER BUYING IT I HAD MY WINDOWS ROLLED DOWN IN A DRIVE THRU AND SMELT GAS. I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT UNTIL A FEW WEEKS LATER I NOTICED THAT I HAD A LEAK OF SOME SORT AND IT HAD THE GAS SMELL BUT WITHIN ANOTHER WEEK MY GAS MILEAGE PER TANK OF FUEL WENT DOWN DRASTICALLY AND I NOTICED I HAD PUDDLES UNDER MY VEHICLE INSTEAD OF A FEW DRIPS NOW. THE SMELL OF GAS IS OVERWHLMING IT GIVES ME HEADACHES WHEN I DRIVE. I'M AFRAID IT'S GOING TO START A FIRE. IT CONSTANTLY DRIPS GAS NOW WHEN I DDRIVE YOU CAN SEEXA TRAIL LEADING TO ME. I WISH I NEVERCWOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT. IT'S SO UNSAFE FOR MY CHILDREN WITH GLAD LEAKING OUT.
ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL (DASHBOARD). ALL GAUGES INTERMITTENTLY QUITS WORKING, ON STARTUP, SITTING RUNNING OR IN MOTION. TACHOMETER NEVER READS CORRECTLY. CAN OCCASIONALLY GET GAUGES TO RESET BY CLICKING IGNITION BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN RUN AND START POSITIONS. I KNOW OF 5 OTHER VEHICLE'S THAT ARE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS.

WITH THE RECENT RECALL IN GM VEHICLES REGARDING THE IGNITION SWITCH I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO SWITCH THIS PART OUT FIRST. FIXED THE PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY.
