THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 03V075000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 91,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FUEL FUMES WERE EMITTED INTO THE VEHICLE AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE CONTACT, WHO NOTICED THAT THE FUEL LINES WERE CORRODED AND THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,000.

SPEEDOMETER AND/OR TACHOMETER STOP WORKING OR ARE INACCURATE. ESPECIALLY DURING COLD OR RAINY WEATHER. PROBLEM HAPPENS MORE OFTEN AS TIME GOES BY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE IGNITION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000. UPDATED 08/11/14*LJ THE IGNITION SWITCH FAILED THREE TIMES. UPDATED 08/19/14
SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT GIVE TRUE SPEED SOMETIMES AND SOMETIMES IT WILL BE RIGHT, SOMETIMES SPEEDOMETER WILL BE AT 50 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS NOT MOVING. TURNING. SWITCH OFF AND ON. SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE WILL GO BACK TO ZERO. TECHOMETER DOSE NOT WORK SOMETIMES. HAVE CHEKED ON LINE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM THERE ARE ALOT OF COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON ALL THESE VEHICLES. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED HE STARTED SMELLING AN ODOR OF GASOLINE FUEL COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE AND WHEN HE REFUELED, GASOLINE FUEL WOULD SPILL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK.THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 89,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
OUR 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER HAS SMELLED LIKE FUEL FOR A FEW MONTHS AND WE HAVE BEEN GOING THROUGH GAS LIKE CRAZY. WE JUST DISCOVERED A CRACKED VALVE CONNECTING THE HOSE TO THE FUEL TANK. OF COURSE, CHEVY DOESN'T JUST SELL THE VALVE, THEY WANT YOU TO BUY A WHOLE NEW TANK. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM, MAYBE A DEFECT WITH THIS MODEL AND MAKE FOR 2002-2004 MODELS. I HAVE 3 SMALL CHILDREN AND AM CONCERNED THAT THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. WE HAD ANOTHER DEFECT PROBLEM WITH OUR TRAILBLAZER LAST YEAR, WHERE THE HINGES ON THE REAR DOOR WORE OUT AND WE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE DOOR. THIS IS ALSO A COMMON PROBLEM WITH TRAILBLAZERS, BUT CHEVY WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL. WE PAID THE $2500 FOR THE REAR DOOR, BUT I DON'T WANT TO PAY ANOTHER $1000+ FOR THE FUEL TANK. THIS VEHICLE IS BECOMING A MONEY PIT. *JS
MY 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON ACCOMPANIED BY THE LOW ENGINE POWER LIGHT. THE VEHICLE GOES INTO LIMP MODE. THIS IS A SAFETY FEATURE THAT ALLOWS THE COMPUTER TO PROTECT THE ENGINE FROM ANY DAMAGE SHOULD SOMETHING GO WRONG. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. THIS HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY (6-8). CHANGING SENSORS DOESN'T FIX IT. I BELIEVE IT TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER COMPUTER. I HAVE READ MANY FORUMS WITH HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE LOOK INTO IT BEFORE IT CAUSES AN ACCIDENT OR MAKES AN EMERGENCY SITUATION A FATAL ONE. *TR
DRIVING FROM OUT OF TOWN AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN RPS RAN HIGH AND TRANS WOULD NOT SHIFT. IT WOULD CATCH FINALLY AND THEN SLIP OUT HAD TO DRIVE IT IN 1ST GEAR. HAD IT REBUILT LASTED 1 YR AND NOW BACK IN SHOP! HAVING IT REBUILT AGAIN. VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ON IT AT LEAST ONCE SOME THINGS TWICE. VERY POOR MADE VEHICLE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. MECHANIC STATES IT IS A KNOWN FACT THAT THE TRANSMISSIONS IN TRAILBLAZERS OVERHEAT WHICH CAUSES THESE ISSUES. HOW CAN GM SLEEP AT NIGHT KNOWING THEY ARE CHARGING 36,000.00 FOR A PIECE OF JUNK! I HAVE TO WORK HARD FOR MY MONEY AND DON'T APPRECIATE THE WAY GM TURNS A DEAF EAR TO THEIR POOR WORKMANSHIP AND DESIGN. I FEEL I SHOULD BE COMPENSATED FOR THE FRUSTRATION! *TR
I STARTED MY VEHICLE AND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DID NOT WORK. NO PRECHECK LIGHTS EXCEPT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND NONE OF THE INSTRUMENTS ON THE PANEL WOULD WORK. TRIED SHUTTING DOWN THE ENGINE AND RESTARTING BUT TO NO AVAIL. *TR
STARTED THE CAR AND PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY WAS GOING 0-5 MPH AND THE SPEEDOMETER SHOT UP TO 40. STARTED DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND IT STAYED STUCK AT 40, BUT I WAS DOING 30MPH. PULLED INTO THE STORE 2 BLOCKS UP, SHUT THE CAR OFF. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON THE CAR WAS REGISTERING 13 MPH AT A DEAD STOP. WENT BACK HOME, CAR SAT OVERNIGHT. STARTED IT FOR WORK IN THE MORNING ON SUNDAY AND IT WAS IDLING AT 8 MPH. STARTED DRIVING TO WORK AND THE SPEEDOMETER WAS REGISTERING 60 MPH, YET I WAS GOING WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC ON A CITY STREET THAT'S SPEED LIMIT WAS 45MPH. SEEMS I NEED TO KEEP TURNING OFF THE CAR AND TURNING IT BACK ON AGAIN IN ORDER FOR THE SPEEDOMETER TO RESET TO A LOWER NUMBER (I.E. 3 OR 8 MPH AT A DEAD STOP, VS. 13 TO 18 MPH AT A DEAD STOP). REVVED THE ENGINE TO SEE WHAT THE RESPONSE WOULD BE, TACHOMETER REGISTERED INCREASE, BUT THE SPEEDOMETER DID NOT BUDGE AT ALL! I WORRY THE DAY IT WILL SAY I AM DOING 40 BUT I AM ACTUALLY DOING 55 AROUND A CURVE. THE CAR IS ABSOLUTELY OFF LIMITS TO MY 17 YEAR OLD NOW. FUNNY THING IS I PREFERRED HER DRIVING THE TRAILBLAZER FOR SAFETY VS. HER LITTLE VW CONVERTIBLE. NOT ANY MORE!! I DO NOT SEE HOW CHEVY CLAIMS THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A STRONG FUEL ODOR IN THE VEHICLE. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS FLUID LEAKING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, MY HEADLIGHTS WILL GO OUT AND HAVE TO TURN ON MY BRIGHTS. NOW, THEY ALSO GO OUT, WHICH HINDERS ME GOING, ANYWHERE AFTER DARK. I'VE TRIED TO GET IT CHECKED AND CAR REPAIR SERVICES DO NOT KNOW WHY.THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT,!!! I HAVE HEARD THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS AND MANUFACTURERS WILL, FIX THIS, FOR FREE. I NEED TO FIND OUT IF THIS IS TRUE AND WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM.???? LIGHTS WILL GO OUT WHETHER I AM MOVING OR STOPPED AT LIGHT, INTERSECTION,,ETC. CITY OR HIGHWAY, MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 5 YEARS,,,,
HAD TO REPLACE FUEL TANK BECAUSE FILLER NECK CRACKED DUE TO BEING BRITTLE HAD TO REPLACE FUEL PUMP DUE TO TOP RUSTING OUT AND CAUSING A GAS LEAK I RECEIVED A LARGE BILL TO REPLACE THESE PARTS AND EXPECTED THEM TO LAST LONGER THEN 8 YEARS. *TR
AFTER PUTTING THE DRIVERS WINDOW DOWN AT A FAST FOOD DRIVE THRU IT WOULD NOT GO BACK UP. THIS WAS IN JANUARY, VERY COLD IN MICHIGAN. DEALER SAID MOISTURE MUST HAVE GOTTEN INTO SWITCH AND THE WHOLE MODULE HAD TO BE REPLACED. I ASKED IF THAT MEANS THE DOORS CAN'T BE OPENED WHEN IT WAS RAINING, HE SAID YES THEY CAN BUT FOR SOME REASON GM HAS A LOT OF DRIVERS DOOR WINDOW SWITCHES GOING BAD ON THE TRAILBLAZERS. THE COST TO HAVE IT REPLACED WAS $430 WHICH WE PAID SEEING HOW ONLY THE DEALER CAN PROGRAM THE NEW SWITCH. IT'S NOW ONE YEAR LATER AND THE SAME SWITCH HAS GONE BAD AGAIN, I CALLED THE DEALER BUT WERE OVER THE 12,000 MILE WARRANTY. IT WILL COST ANOTHER $430 TO REPLACE AGAIN. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN AT ALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 116,000.
DRIVING AT 40MPH AND THE TRUCK WENT UP IN FLAMES TRUCK SHOWED NO WARNING EVEN DROVE IT APP. 300YARDS TO PULL OVER STILL RAN WITH FLAMES AS HIGH AS 6 FT NO DUMMY LIGHTS CAME FIRE WAS UNDER THE TRUCK WHILE DRIVING WAS WARNED BY ANOTHER DRIVING HEADING TOWARDS ME TRUCK HAD 85130 MILES ON IT NEVER HAD NO MAJOR PROBLEMS EVER THIS IS A BRIEF SUMMARY. *TR
WE WERE DRIVING ON THE WI INTERSTATE SYSTEM WHEN THE REAR SPOILER DETACHED AND FLEW ONTO THE ROADWAY LEAVING THE BRAKE LIGHT DANGLING AND BANGING INTO THE HATCHED WINDOW. DUE TO ROAD CONDITIONS AND SNOW ON THE CONCRETE DIVIDED MEDIAN I WASN'T ABLE TO STOP AND PICK UP THE DEBRIS. THE BACK GATE HADN'T BEEN OPENED FOR AT LEAST 2 DAYS SO THERE WAS NO WAY TO KNOW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. *TR

WHEN DRIVING MY VEHICLE THAT SPEEDOMETER ON THE RPM DOES NOT WORK, AND NOW I WAS TOLD THAT THE COMPUTER WAS MESSED UP. I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY, AND THEN THE FUSE UNDER THE SEAT GETS REALLY HOT, AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT IT. I HAVE EVEN GOT A TICKET FOR SPEEDING AND MY SPEED O METER WAS SET AT 65 AND I WAS TOLD BY THE HIGHWAY PATROL THAT I WAS GOING 75. *TR
THE DRIVERS SEAT HEATER GOT VERY HOT AND THEN STOPPED WORKING SHORTLY AFTER. I DID AN INTERNET SEARCH AND FOUND THAT THIS IS VERY COMMON. I FOUND THAT ONE OF THE WIRES HAD OVERHEATED AND ACTUALLY BURNED THE FOAM AND COVERING. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS AND PICTURES ON THE INTERNET. I REMOVED MY SEAT AND FOUND THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I AM ASTOUNDED THAT NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO STOP THE USE OF THESE DEFECTIVE HEATERS. THIS IS MOST CERTAINLY A VERY SERIOUS FIRE AND BURN HAZARD. *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2003 TRAILBLAZER LTZ USED ABOUT 6 WEEKS AGO AT 146,000 MILES. TODAY, IT WILL NOT GO OVER 45 MPH. DUE TO INTERNAL TRANSMISSION HARDWARE DEFECTS. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, OR ANY WARNINGS WERE DISPLAYED. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN NOTED THOUSANDS OF DIFFERENT TIMES BETWEEN DIFFERENT TRAILBLAZER OWNERS AND GM REFUSES TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THE FAULTY SUNSHELL GEARS! SO I'M LEFT WITH A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD CAUSED BY GM AS WELL AS HAVING TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKE?? I WORK HARD ON A TIGHT BUDGET AND I'M IN THE BEGINNING OF AN 18 MONTH PAYMENT STRUCTURE FOR THIS VEHICLE AND CANNOT AFFORD THE $2600 A GM DEALERSHIP WANTS TO FIX AN ISSUE THEY CREATED. I HAD GONE TO A FRIENDS HOUSE WITH MY BOYFRIEND AND OUR 10MONTH OLD DAUGHTER THE CAR WAS WORKING GREAT ON 12-31-11 AT AROUND 5PM WE PARKED THE VEHICLE. ON OUR WAY HOME AT ABOUT 10:45PM WE GOT ON THE ROAD CAR DROVE FINE WE JUMPED ON THE FWY IT WAS FOGGY AND REALLY HARD TO SEE WE WERE ON THE 54 FWY IN SAN DIEGO APPROACHING THE 805 SOUTH THERE IS A HIGH ON RAMP WE WERE GOING ABOUT 55 TO 60 AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I PUSHED ON GAS AND LOST ALL POWER TO VEHICLE IT SOUNDED LIKE I WAS IN NEUTRAL AND BECAUSE IT WAS UP HILL AND CURVED VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE US WITH JUST HAZARD LIGHTS ON. I WAS PRAYING THINKING SOMEONE WAS GOING TO TAKE US OUT. EVERY CAR WOULD SWERVING AROUND US AND HONKING WE FINALLY PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE FWY OFF OF THE RAMP AND TURNED OFF CAR TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT GAVE US ENOUGH POWER TO GET TO THE STREET EXIT. ONCE THERE AGAIN DID THE SAME AND AT THAT POINT WE PARKED AND LEFT CAR ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AFTER CALLING A FRIEND TO PICK US UP SINCE WE DIDN'T WANT OUR BABY OUT ON THE STREET THAT LATE AND ON NEW YEARS. I HAVE ALSO HAD SEVERAL OTHER PROBLEMS AC ONLY WORKS ON 5 BACK PASSENGER PANEL MAKES CLICKING NOISE WHEN ON AND BACK AC WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO. ALSO RPM GAUGE DOESN'T FUNCTION, CAR ALARM IS VERY FAINT WHEN PLACE ON. I HAVE 3 OTHER CHILDREN AND 1 CAR AND NOW DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO SINCE WE DEPEND ON THE CAR. WE HAVE HAD SMALL PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR AND ABOUT 5 TO 6 MONTHS AGO MY CAR ENGINE STARTED KNOCKING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED HOWEVER AC ALREADY WASN'T WORKING AND NEITHER WAS THE RPM GAUGE. WHEN WE REPLACED THE ENGINE THE CAR RAN GREAT HAD A LOT OF POWER AND EVERYTHING. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE AND I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO DIE. *TR
WAS MAKING A LANE CHANGE ON PERFECT ROAD CONDITIONS WHEN THE BACK END OF THE TRAILBLAZER STARTED SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY. VEERED INTO THE MEDIAN AND WAS ABOUT TO DRIVE INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC. CRANKED HARD ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID TRAFFIC AND ROLLED THE VEHICLE 4 TIMES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD ACTIVATE WITHOUT INITIATION AND WHEN THEY WERE ACTIVATED, THEY COULD NOT BE SHUT OFF. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 127,000.
I HAVE A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LT. THE WIPERS WOULD NOT SHUT OFF AFTER AN AFTERNOON SHOWER. I HAD TO PULL THE FUSE IN ORDER FOR THEM TO SHUT OFF. I HAVE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURE. THEY HAVE REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE. THEY ARE STATING THAT THERE IS NO SUCH RECALL FOR MY VIN NUMBER. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THERE IS NO SUCH RECALL FOR A 2003 TRAILBLAZER. MY WISH IS THAT THE NHTSA WOULD FORCE CHEVY TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND FIX THE PROBLEM, OR AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM AND SAY THAT THEY ARE NOT GOING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE IDEA THAT THIS IS LIMITED TO SOME 2003 LTS, BUT NOT OTHERS IS RATHER ODD TO ME. FOR THE MANF. TO SAY THAT NO SUCH RECALL EXIST IS RATHER ODD TO ME. I DO NOT KNOW THE EXACT PURPOSE OR LEGAL REACH OF THE NHTSA. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 2003 TRAILBLAZER. DURING THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS, MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE BEEN SMELLING GAS OFF AND ON. WE WERE PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AND AS I GOT INTO THE CAR, I TOLD MY HUSBAND I SMELLED A STRONG ODOR OF GAS. OUR ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. WE TOOK OUR VEHICLE TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND THEY FOUND A CRACK BETWEEN THE GAS TANK AND THE FILLER PIPE AND CAP. WE TOOK OUR VEHICLE TO A CHEVROLET DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOT A RECALL NOTICE ON OUR VIN # AND THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE TANK. WE HAD A NEW FUEL TANK REPLACED AT OUR LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. THE COST OF THE FUEL TANK REPLACEMENT WAS $1,215.50. ONE SPARK IN THE ROAD AND WE WOULD HAVE LOST OUR LIVES. WE UNDERSTAND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL NOTICE ON 2002 TRAILBLAZER, BUT NOT 2003. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE? SAFETY IS SAFETY NO MATTER WHAT YEAR. DOES GM WANT TO SAVE A FEW DOLLARS COMPARED TO LOST LIVES? WE WERE SHOCKED ON OUR INTERNET RESEARCH THROUGH TSBS WHICH SHOWED A GREAT NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS OWNING A TRAILBLAZER WITH THIS VERY SAME PROBLEM. GM SHOULD STAND BY THEIR "SAFETY AND QUALITY FIRST" WHICH WE FOUND ONLINE AND REIMBURSE ALL CHEVROLET OWNERS WITH THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN SMELLING GASOLINE IN AND AROUND MY VEHICLE FOR ABOUT A YEAR. ONE MECHANIC TOLD US TO REPLACE THE GAS CAP, WHICH WE DID IN NOVEMBER 2012. IT DIDN'T HELP. 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FUEL TANK AND RUST HOLES *TGW THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE FUEL TANK WAS LEAKING, DUE TO RUST HOLES AND PITTING. THERE WAS ALSO A DEFECT WITH THE FILLER TUBE. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE FUEL PUMP WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM. THE PROBLEM THAT I HAVE WITH MY TRUCK IS AN ELECTRIC PROBLEM INVOLVING THE LIGHT RELAYS, WHICH I AD TO REPLACE SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO THEM BEING DAMAGED, LEAVING ME WITHOUT LIGHTS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THREE YEARS SINCE 2011 AT NIGHT AT RANDOM TIMES OUR LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS GO OUT ON US AS YOUR DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. MY 2003 TRAILBLAZER DEVELOPED A FUEL LEAK AT THE INLET CHECK VALVE. SPECIFICALLY I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE INLET VALVE HAS DEVELOPED A CRACK IN THE WELD AND IS LEAKING GAS WHEN THE TANK IS FULL OR WHILE I AM FILLING UP THE TANK. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND IN DOING SOME RESEARCH APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH BOTH THE EXT AND REGULAR MODELS OF TRAILBLAZER. HOWEVER ONLY THE EXT MODELS ARE UNDER SPECIAL COVERAGE FOR REPLACEMENT AT THIS TIME. *TR
EXHAUST BOLTS HAVE BROKEN ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD, THIS VEHICLE HAS THE V8 ENGINE. DEALER EXPLAINS THAT THIS NEEDS FIXED AS CARBON MONOXIDE COULD ENTER THE PASSENGER CABIN. THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT WITH THE VEHICLE A YEAR AGO, I CONTACTED MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO SEE IF IT WAS RELATED TO THE ACCIDENT. THEY CLAIM THAT IT IS NOT RELATED TO THE ACCIDENT AND THAT GM VEHICLES MODEL YEAR 2000 TO 2007 WITH THIS 5.3 V8 ENGINE HAVE REPORTED THESE BOLTS BREAKING AND INFORMED ME TO CONTACT GM ABOUT REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIR EXPENSES. I DO NOT HAVE THE $2000 FOR REPAIRS AND AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY WHILE IN THE VEHICLE. *TR

CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT WAS TOWED FROM HIGHWAY DUE TO A RUPTURED TRANSMISSION LINE. TOW TRUCK DRIVER TOWED VEHICLE FROM THE REAR WHEELS. UPON DELIVERING VEHICLE TO REPAIR SHOP, THE ENTIRE UPPER HATCH TRIM MOLDING (HIGH MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT COVER) PIECE AND THE HIGH MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLY WAS MISSING WITH ONLY THE TWO WIRES DANGLING. UPON INSPECTION, THE PIECE IS ONLY HELD ON THE VEHICLE BY 2 BOLTS AND DOUBLE SIDED TAPE. THE DOUBLE SIDED TAPE ON THE REAR GLASS WAS DRY AND CRUMBLING (COMPLETELY INEFFECTIVE). SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING BACKWARDS BEHIND THE TOW TRUCK, THE PIECE WAS NOT ABLE TO WITHSTAND THE FORCE OF WIND WHICH PUSHED THE PIECE UPWARD UNTIL IT ULTIMATELY CRACKED AND BROKE OFF THE VEHICLE. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY REPORTS OF THIS PIECE FALLING OFF FROM TRAILBLAZER MODELS GOING FORWARD AND GM HAS DONE NOTHING TO REDESIGN OR FIX THE PROBLEM. A LARGE PLASTIC PIECE SUCH AS THAT SHOULD NOT USE 2 BOLTS AND DOUBLE SIDED TAPE AS A PRIMARY MEANS OF ATTACHMENT. AT A MINIMUM, A SAFETY NOTICE SHOULD BE SENT THAT TOWING A TRAILBLAZER FROM THE REAR AT HIGH SPEEDS MAY RESULT IN THIS PIECE BREAKING OFF, POSING A REAL SAFETY CONCERN (FLYING HIGHWAY DEBRIS) TO THE FOLLOWING VEHICLE(S). PARTS ARE FALLING OFF VEHICLES AND NO ONE BUT THE DISGRUNTLED OWNERS SEEM TO CARE. *TR
NEVER HAD ISSUE WITH HEADLIGHTS BEFORE. DRIVING HOME FROM HOSPITAL AT 9PM AND LOW BEAMS TURNED OFF. HAD TO TURN ON EMERGENCY FLASHERS AND PULL OFF ROAD. TRIED EVERYTHING TO GET THEM TO TURN BACK ON. SAT THERE FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEY WENT BACK ON. PULLED ONTO I-95 AND 4 MINUTES INTO THE DRIVE, IN THE FAST LANE, THEY TURNED BACK OFF LEAVING ME IN PITCH BLACK GOING 70MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE LEAK WAS DUE TO CORROSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 129,000.
MY WIFE AND I WERE INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION (HIT BY A DRUNK DRIVER) OUR AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, I SUSTAINED A C7 FRACTURE, SCALPED BY THE REAR VIEW MIRROR (22 STITCHES TO HOLD MY SCALP) 6 STITCHES ON MY NOSE AND BRUISED KNEES. GAVE ME ESTIMATE REPAIRING WITH NEW TANK APPROX $1500.00 OR USED TANK $800.00. DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THEY WAS RECALL ON EXTENDED TRAILBLAZERS (MINE IS NOT). DELVED FURTHER AND FOUND SERVICE BULLETIN INDICATING GMC AND CHEVROLET HAS A SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT #07099A. THEY ORDERED A NEW TANK AND INSTALLED AT NO EXPENSE TO ME.
I WAS AT WORK ON 8-18-2011 WHEN CO WORKERS ASKED ME IF I HAD A BLACK CHEVY TRAILBLAZER BECAUSE SOMEONE SAW MY REAR WINDOW EXPLODE. I WENT OUTSIDE AND THERE WAS GLASS ALL OVER THE GROUND OUTSIDE AND MY WINDOW WAS BROKEN IN LITTLE PIECES. I CAME HOME AND SEARCHED THE WEB FOR SIMILAR PROBLEMS. UPON TALKING TO MULTIPLE REP'S, GM CLAIMS THEY SENT OUT LETTERS IN 2007 ALERTING THE CONSUMER TO A POTENTIAL PROBLEM. I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN SEPTEMBER 2005. GM STATED THAT LETTERS DO GET LOST IN THE MAIL, WHEN I STATED WE WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THIS SITUATION. I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF THIS POTENTIAL HAZARD WAITING TO HAPPEN. GM CLAIMS THE SERVICE BULLETIN HAD PARAMETERS OF 10 YEARS OR A 120, 000 MILES WHICH EVER COMES FIRST. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE REP SEVERAL TIMES, AND HAVE NOT BEEN SUCCESSFUL. I DO HAVE 149,000 PLUS MILES ON THIS VEHICLE. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP, THEY WERE CLAIMING NOTHING HAS EVER BEEN DOCUMENTED ON THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. THIS IS WHEN I DID MY OWN RESEARCH AND FOUND THE SERVICE BULLETIN AS MENTIONED ABOVE AND THE COMPLAINTS OF THIS SAME PROBLEM ALL THROUGH THE INTERNET BLOGS. IT SEEMS WE ARE NOT GETTING ANYWHERE AND WOULD APPRECIATE SOME CONDSIDERATION FROM GM AND TAKING PART OF THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS PROBLEM.
