2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LT SPEEDOMETER FAILED. *TR
FAULTY SPEEDOMETER - READS 60MPH WHEN AT A STOP - UNDER WARRANTY - DEALERSHIP REPLACED INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PANEL CURRENT PROBLEMS - GAS GAUGE READS EMPTY WHEN TANK JUS FILLED, LIGHTS DIM AND BRIGHTEN INTERMITTENTLY, REPLACED BATTERY 9/2011 THINKING PROBLEM WITH BATTERY WHEN CAR JUST DIED ON ME, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT JUST GOES OFF AND ON, REPLACED FRONT LEFT HEAD LAMP AND WITHIN 1 WEEK THE SAME BULB IS DEAD. *TR
AFTER STOPPING TO FILL UP THE GAS TANK ON MY VEHICLE, THE FUEL GAUGE REGISTERED THAT MY CAR HAD NO FUEL. I FILLED THE TANK ENTIRELY, TO THE COST OF $64.00, AND WHEN I STARTED THE CAR, THE "LOW FUEL" WARNING APPEARED. I TRIED TO TURNING THE CAR OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN, BUT THE FUEL SYSTEM STILL REGISTERED THAT THE GAS TANK WAS EMPTY. I THEN TRIED TO RESET THE INTERNAL COMPUTER BY DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY TERMINAL. THIS ALSO PROVED INEFFECTIVE. AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MILES OR SO, THE GAS GAUGE FLUCTUATED BETWEEN AN "EMPTY" READING AND A "1/2 TANK" READING. UPON STOPPING FINALLY ABOUT 4 MILES LATER (TOTAL OF APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES DRIVEN AFTER FILLING THE TANK TO "FULL") THE FUEL GAUGE WENT BACK TO AN "EMPTY" READING, AND HAS SINCE REMAINED THERE. I NOW HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN MY GAS TANK ASIDE FROM TRACKING MY MILEAGE ON MY TRIP ODOMETER, AND "ESTIMATING" AS TO HOW MUCH GAS HAS BEEN USED, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT DRIVING CONDITIONS, DRIVING TENDENCIES, HIGHWAY VERSUS CITY TRAVEL, ETC. ALL FACTORS CONSIDERED, IT IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO TRACK HOW MUCH GAS IS IN MY CAR AT ALL TIMES, WHICH POSES A SAFETY RISK TO MYSELF, ANY OF MY PASSENGERS, AND OTHER DRIVERS.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SUDDENLY FAILED. THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED THAT THE TANK WAS EMPTY WHEN THE CONTACT ADDED FUEL TO ITS CAPACITY. THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD ALSO DISPLAY THAT SHE WAS DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS THAN NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER WHO ADVISED HER THAT THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENTAL CLUSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED HER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 72,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY, AND THE FUEL GAUGE WORKED FINE. A FEW WEEKS LATER, AS I WAS DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STALLED. CONFUSED, AS THE GAS GAUGE READ 1/2 A TANK REMAINING, I CALLED A FRIEND TO COME PICK ME UP. HE PUT GAS IN THE TANK, AND IT STARTED UP FIRST TRY. I MADE IT TO A FUEL STATION, AND FILLED THE TANK. THE GAUGE READ HALF ALL THE WAY TO THE STATION, AND WHEN I FILLED IT, IT READ EMPTY FOR THE FIRST 40-50 MILES. THEN, THE NEEDLE FLOATED THE RANGE OF THE GAUGE. IT HAS BEEN DOING THIS EVER SINCE. *TR
THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE STOPPED WORKING. SECOND INCIDENT AT A LATER DATE, THE SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING CORRECTLY, THIRD INCIDENT AT A DIFFERENT TIME, THE FUEL GAUGE READS INCORRECTLY, FOURTH INCIDENT, THE BATTERY GAUGE IS WORKING SPORADICALLY. MOST OF THE TIME THE GAUGES DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY OR NOT AT ALL. *TR
THE FUEL INDICATOR HASN'T WORKED FOR OVER A YEAR NOW AND IT HAS STALLED AND WOULD NOT START FOR A WHILE. AFTER SITTING FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES IT DID START.
TRAFFIC WAS HORRIBLE BUMPER TO BUMPER, I WAS DRIVING AND REALIZED NOT TO RUSH SO I STOOD IN THE FIRST LANE, AS I WAS DRIVING BUMPER TO BUMPER I ALWAYS DRIVE WITHIN ONE CAR LENGTHS IN CASE I GET REAR ENDED. AS I AM DRIVING BUMPER TO BUMPER ALL FOR A SUDDEN NEXT THING YOU KNOW MY CAR JUST SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AT INCREDIBLE SPEED I MANAGE TO SWERVE INTO THE EMERGENCY LANE TO AVOID CAUSING A MULTIPLE CAR PILEUP MY CAR DIED INSTANTLY I STARTED IT UP AGAIN AND IT JUST WANTED TO TAKE OFF AS IT DID BEFORE I TURNED THE CAR OFF THINKING TO MYSELF MY GOD WHAT JUST HAPPENED AND WHAT IS GOING ON, I AM TRYING TO CALM MY 12 YEAR OLD CHILD BECAUSE IT WAS THE MOST FRIGHTENING THING I AM MY FAMILY EVER WENT THRU. I PRESS THE BREAK AND JUST RELAX FOR A SECOND AND STARTED THE CAR UP AND IT WAS FINE. HOWEVER, MY NERVES WERE PRETTY MUCH SHAKEN, I HAD TAKEN THE CAR TO JJ AUTO SHOP IN HAYWARD WHO IS ASE CERTIFIED HE DID A DIAGNOSTIC ON THE VEHICLE HE SAID HE COULD NOT VERIFY WHAT I WAS SAYING, NO ERROR LIGHTS AND THE HISTORY WAS CLEAN. HE ALSO MENTIONED THE COMPUTER AT TIMES DOES NOT PICK UP A SPLIT OF A SECOND ACCELERATION. HE BELIEVES MY STORY AND SAID EVERYTHING IS DONE THRU COMPUTER SO THERE IS NO FINDING AS OF THE MOMENT. I WAS NOT SOLD ON THAT BUT HE ALSO RECOMMEND I COULD CHANGE THE BODY THROTTLE @ 700.00 BUT HE SAID I JUST DONT WANT YOU TO BUY THE PART SO YOU COULD JUST DRIVE IN THE SLOW LANE AND IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN TO SHIFT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND TURN IT OFF ASAP> MY THING IS SINCE CARS ARE COMPUTERIZE THIS SHOULD HAVE WHY IS IT THEY COULD NOT VERIFY MY SITUATION AND ALSO BODY THROTTLE WHAT HE WAS LOOKING AT AND WHAT CHEVY THINKS IT WAS! SO MY COMPLAINT IS FOR CHEVY DID THEY OVERWRITE SOFTWARE TO OVERLOOK SUDDEN ACCELERATION? THE PETITIONER REQUESTS THAT NHTSA OPEN AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE PERFORMANCE/RELIABILITY OF THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR INSTALLED IN MODEL YEAR 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER VEHICLES. THE PETITIONER ALLEGES THAT THE FUEL TANK LEVEL SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE AND COULD RESULT IN A SUBJECT VEHICLE RUNNING OUT OF FUEL, STALL, AND BEING REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. GAS GAUGE -2005 CHEVY SUV TRAILBLAZER FILL UP WITH GAS THE HAND GOES WAY PAST FULL THEN SHOW I HAVE 3/4 TANK THEN PUT GAS IN TAKES 12 GAL. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE FAILS TO FUNCTION. IT INDICATES A FUEL LEVEL OF BETWEEN EMPTY TO 1/4 TANK REGARDLESS OF THE ACTUAL FUEL LEVEL. *TR
GAS GAUGE INDICATES LOW AFTER FILL UP. IT THEN VARIES BETWEEN EMPTY AND FULL. AFTER READING ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET OF THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE, I FEEL THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TRACK HOW MUCH GAS YOU HAVE LEFT BY MILEAGE, ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE ARE MULTIPLE USERS OF THE VEHICLE. IF THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOPS IN TRAFFIC (LOCAL ROAD OR HIGHWAY) IT COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. SINCE THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM, I THINK THE NHTSB SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS AND GET CHEVROLET TO RECALL THESES VEHICLES TO REPLACE THE SENDING UNITS. I NOTICED A COMPLAINT WAS FILED FOR THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM WITH THE NHTSB BACK IN 2010, WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG FOR ACTION, WITH ALL DUE RESPECT. AGAIN, SO MANY TRAILBLAZER OWNERS ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS READING INACCURATELY AND HE WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH FUEL WAS IN THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RELATED RECALLS TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT DID NOT INFORM THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FAILURE NOR WAS THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 71,000.
GAS GAUGE DOES NOT ACCURATELY ACCOUNT FOR WHAT IS IN THE FUEL TANK. AFTER FILLING THE TANK UP WITH GASOLINE THE GAUGE WILL GO TO EMPTY AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT WILL COME ON. THE GAUGE WILL MOVE FROM FULL TO EMPTY PERIODICALLY. HAVE BEEN USING THE DIGITAL FUEL USED READOUT TO GAUGE WHEN I NEED TO REFUEL.
WE OWN A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND THE GAS GAUGE IS NOT WORKING. WHEN WE PUT FUEL INTO THE TANK IT REGISTERS ON FULL THEN QUICKLY WILL GO DOWN TO EMPTY. THE GAUGE WILL THEN GO UP TO HALF OR A QUARTER THEN BACK TO EMPTY. THEREFORE YOU ARE NEVER REALLY SURE OF THE AMOUNT OF GAS THERE IS IN THE TANK. WE TRY AND WATCH THE MILEAGE TO USE THAT AS A GUIDE BUT WHEN WE ARE CONSTANTLY PUTTING IN A COUPLE OF GALLONS JUST BE SURE WE HAVE GAS WE LOSE TRACK. I AM SO AFRAID THAT I OR ONE OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS WILL BE STRANDED FROM RUNNING OUT OF GAS. I TRIED CONTACTING CHEVROLET BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL IN ANY KIND OF RESOLUTION. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM ONLINE AND FOUND MANY INSTANCES OF TRAILBLAZER OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
FUEL GAUGE FAILURE. FUEL GAUGE STILL READS EMPTY AFTER TANK IS FULL. THE GAUGE WILL REGISTER HAVING FUEL SOME OF THE TIME, MOST OF THE TIME THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR WILL COME ON. I HAVE TO USE THE ODOMETER TO REMEMBER TO REFUEL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HIGH STOP LIGHT ABOVE THE LIFT GATE FRACTURED DUE TO ICE IN THE WINTER. THE PART SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE AND SOMEONE RAN OVER THE PIECE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. AFTER DIAGNOSIS, THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THE HIGH STOP LIGHT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 102,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 170,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. *TR

FUEL GAUGE IS CONSTANTLY ON EMPTY. DINGS CONSTANTLY. FILL IT OFTEN BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF IT WILL SHUT OFF ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD OR NOT. I HAVE TRIED PUTTING IN 5.00 OR FILLING THE TANK. IT NEVER GOES TO FULL ON THE GAUGE. IT IS GETTING WORSE, USED TO GO TO HALF, NOW ONLY GOES TO QUARTER FULL EVEN WHEN I FILL IT UP. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER AT ANY GIVIN MOMENT WILL GO HAYWIRE. WILL READ OVER OR UNDER WHAT SPEED YOU ARE ACTUALLY DRIVING. THIS IS CAUSED BY A FAULTY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. SAFETY CONCERN IS THAT YOU DO NOT NOTICE RIGHT AWAY THAT THE SPEEDOMETER IS OUT OF WHACK SO YOU DON'T KNOW HOW FAST YOU ARE ACTUALLY GOING, LEAVING YOU VULNERABLE TO DRIVING TOO FAST FOR ROAD CONDITIONS AND POTENTIALLY CAUSING A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM IN THE 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND GM WILL DO NOTHING TO REPAIR THIS. *TR

SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING YESTERDAY AS WIFE DROVE HOME. 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER SUV ONLY HAS A BIT OVER 53,000 MILES. CAN'T TELL HOW FAST OR SLOW WE'RE GOING NOW. SEEMS LIKE A DEFECT THAT SHOULD NOT OCCUR TO VEHICLES AT THIS AGE/MILEAGE, LET ALONE ANY AGE. TYPICAL GM "QUALITY" I GUESS. THIS DEFECT HAS THE ABILITY TO AFFECT DRIVER SAFETY AND IS OBVIOUSLY NOT RARE JUDGING BY OTHERS WHO'VE WRITTEN ON THE INTERNET ABOUT IT, I BELIEVE A RECALL IS IN ORDER. HAVE NOT TAKEN FOR REPAIR YET, BUT WAS TOLD GM WILL NOT COVER THE COST AND THAT IT WILL COST AROUND $500 TO FIX. *TR
FUEL PUMP/ FUEL LEVEL SENSOR 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. SHOW INACCURATE FUEL LEVEL AT ALL TIMES. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE HAS NOT BEEN WORKING FOR MONTHS. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 5 GALLONS ARE USED OF THE 20 GALLON TANK, IT WILL READ EMPTY AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL GO OFF. ON CHRISTMAS EVE, OUR FAMILY OF 4 INCLUDING TWO TODDLERS WAS STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE WE RAN OUT OF GAS DUE TO THE INACCURATE FUEL GAUGE, AND WHEN THE TOWTRUCK ARRIVED THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH GAS TO START THE TRUCK BECAUSE THEY ONLY BRING $5 AND WITH TODAY'S GAS PRICES IT EQUATES TO LESS THAN 2 GALLONS. WE HAD TO THEN BE TOWED TO A GAS STATION, MOVING CAR SEATS INTO THE TOW TRUCK AND THE TODDLERS SCREAMING ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON, TO FILL THE REST OF THE TANK. WHILE GM HAS OFFERED TO HELP (ONLY 50%, EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, THEY ARE ONLY ADMITTING PREMATURE FAILURE) WITH THE COST OF THE REPAIR, THEY WON'T COVER IT FOR ME BECAUSE I HAVE OVER 120,000 MILES CURRENTLY, WHICH THEY STATED YOU MUST HAVE LESS THAN FOR THEM TO COVER THE 50%, EVEN THOUGH I HAD LESS THAN 120,000 WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED OCCURRING. EVEN UPON FILLING THE TANK, IT TAKES ABOUT A DAY FOR THE GAUGE TO READ FULL, AND THEN IT BEGINS TO FALL STEADILY, NOT REFLECTING THE ACTUAL AMOUNT IN THE TANK. *TR
GAS GAUGE MALFUNCTIONING, ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND OFF. IN LOOKING AT DIFFERENT WEB-SITES, THIS IS COMMON FOR THIS VEHICLE. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON 06/20/2010 AND HAVE HAD SEVERAL THINGS GO WRONG IN THE (8) MONTHS THAT I HAVE OWNED IT.

I HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH MY FUEL GAUGE AND DASH READING FOR YEARS NOW. I THOUGHT IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH JUST MY TRUCK BUT IN READING OTHER COMPLAINTS IT SEEMS AS THERE IS AN ISSUE. I BOUGHT MY TRUCK NEW AND CURRENTLY HAVE 178,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS TOLD BYTHE DEALER THAT THE GAS GAUGE ISSUE WOULD NOT BE COVERED AS IT'S 10 YEARS OR 120,000 WHICH EVERY CAME FIRST. MY DASH BOARD HAS NOT BEEN WORKING FOR SOME TIME FIRST IT WAS THE SPEEDOMETER AND THEN THE OIL AND OTHER'S COMPONENTS SOON FOLLOWED. *TR
YES MY FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT TELL ME THE CORRECT FUEL AMOUNT IN THE FUEL TANK ,WHEN I FILL MY TANK UP WITH GAS. THE FUEL GAUGE, OIL PRESSURE GAUGE AND SPEEDOMETER HAVE STOPPED WORKING. THE FUEL GAUGE READS EMPTY WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE HOVERS AROUND 80 OR POINTS STRAIGHT DOWN. THE SPEEDOMETER WILL READ 120 MPH WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, OR WILL READ 30 MPH WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT THE SAME SPEED AS OTHER CARS, GENERALLY IN THE 55-65 MPH RANGE. THE SPEEDOMETER ISSUE IS INCREDIBLY UNSAFE, AS YOU HAVE NO WAY TO KNOW YOUR TRUE SPEED. THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE IS UNSAFE AS WELL, AS YOU HAVE NO WAY TO KNOW IF/WHEN YOU'RE REALLY HAVING AN OIL PRESSURE PROBLEM. MY CALLS TO GM HAVE RESULTED IN NO RESOLUTION, AS I WAS TOLD THAT I SHOULDN'T NEED THE SPEEDOMETER SINCE I CAN "FEEL" HOW FAST I'M GOING (AS STATED BY A GM REPRESENTATIVE).

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH THE SPEEDOMETER DISPLAYED 90 MPH AS THE VEHICLE MILEAGE INCREASED TO 100,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE FAILURE. APPROXIMATELY A YEAR AGO THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE MALFUNCTIONED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
GAS DOES NOT REGISTER WHEN I FILL UP THE TANK. STILL READS "EMPTY". I HAVE NOTICED ON SEVERAL WEBSITES THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE A RECALL. I TRAVEL W/SMALL CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE AND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO NOT KNOW WHAT EXACTLY THE FUEL LEVEL IS. I USE THE TRIP METER TO HOLD ME OVER, BUT IT CAN BE VERY HARD TO DETERMINE THE AMOUNTS WHILE USING THE TRIP METER FOR OTHER RECORDINGS. I HAVE HAD AN ESTIMATE, BUT IT IS OVER $800 TO HAVE FIXED AND WITH THIS ECONOMY, THAT IS JUST IMPOSSIBLE TO SWING FOR SUCH A COMMON ISSUE. *TR
ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO THE SPEEDOMETER IN MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. THE ONLY THING OUT OF THE ORDINARY WAS THE NEARLY 16 INCHES OF SNOW THAT WE GOT IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA. AT FIRST IT WOULD NOT MOVE, THEN IT READ THAT I WAS GOING 30 MPH WHILE THE CAR WAS IN PARK. NOW IT IS STUCK PAST 120 MPH. I AM UNEMPLOYED, STILL TRYING TO MAKE CAR PAYMENTS ON THIS CAR AND DO NOT HAVE THE $500 + THAT CHEVY HAS TOLD ME THEY WOULD CHARGE ME TO FIX THIS PROBLEM THAT I AM SURE THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF WITH THIS MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR SUV. *TR
OUR 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER HAS A NON WORKING FUEL GAUGE AND SPEEDOMETER. WE HAVE 4 CHILDREN. 2 OF WHICH LIVE OUT OF STATE AND WE DRIVE BACK AND FORTH SEVERAL TIMES A MONTH FROM SC TO TN TO PICK THEM UP. WHEN THE FUEL GAUGE WENT OUT WE WERE ANNOYED BUT WE JUST TOP THE GAS TANK OFF OFTEN, BUT THE SPEEDOMETER THAT JUST STARTED STICKING WE HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO HANDLE. WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO GET IT FIXED BUT WE TRAVEL SO MUCH FOR SUCH LONG DISTANCES THAT IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. WHEN RESEARCHING ONLINE I SEE THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM YET CHEVY HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. IF CHEVY DOES NOT ISSUE A RECALL FOR THESE WE WILL NOT EVER TRUST CHEVY PRODUCTS AGAIN. I HAVE A 2005 TRAILBLAZER THAT SOMETIME THE GAS GUAGE WORKS AND SOMETIMES IT WON'T . I HAVE TALKED TO SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE WITH 2005 TRAILBLAZER AND THEY HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM CHEVROLET STATING IN SOME VEHICLES, THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR MAY WEAR PREMATURELY CAUSING THE FUEL GAUGE TO READ EMPTY AFTER FILLING THE TANK. IT ALSO STATES THE GAUGE WILL EVENTUALLY STOP WORKING. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MY TRUCK. IT ALSO STATES THAT GM WILL PAY 50% OF THE TOTAL COST FOR AN AUTHORIZED CHEVROLET DEALER TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING FOR IT SINCE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH A 2005 TRAIL BLAZER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
FUEL GAUGE IS ERRATIC. READS EMPTY MOST OF THE TIME EVEN AFTER A FILL-UP. GAUGE NEEDLE BOUNCES FROM EMPTY TO FULL WHILE DRIVING. FAULTY SENDER CAUSES CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO STAY ON CONSTANTLY. I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM GM EXPLAINING THAT THEY WOULD PAY FOR HALF OF THE REPAIR, BUT ONLY IF MY TRAILBLAZER WAS UNDER 120,000 MILES. I DON'T KNOW OF TOO MANY VEHICLES ON THE ROAD THAT ARE 7 YEARS OLD THAT HAVE LESS THAN 120,000 MILES. *TR
MY FUEL SENDING UNIT STARTED READING EMPTY WHEN IT WAS FULL. THE NEEDLE WOULD GO UP AND DOWN. NEVER KNEW IF IT WAS RIGHT. I ACTUALLY RAN OUT OF GAS IN MY DRIVEWAY BECAUSE IT SAID I HAD A 1/4 TANK, WHEN IN FACT I WAS ON EMPTY! *KB

I HAVE A TRAILBLAZER LT AND THE LIGHTS HAVE A SERIOUS FLICKERING PROBLEM GOING DOWN THE ROAD. IT IS ACTUALLY DANGEROUS! WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE LIGHTS JUST FLICKER TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. CHEVY CLAIMS THIS IS A NORMAL PROBLEM WITH TRAILBLAZERS. THERE HAS BEEN NO CORRECTIONS FOR THIS PROBLEM. I EXPLAINED HOW WOULD THIS PERSON FEEL IF THEY HAD THEIR CHILD IN THE CAR WHEN YOUR TRAILBLAZER WAS FACING ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND YOUR LIGHTS FLICKERED CAUSING THE OPPOSING TRAFFIC TO COME INTO YOUR LANE? THIS IS NOT SAFE....SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND RECALL IT!!! *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 50 MPH AND THEN YOU SLOW DOWN. THE SPEEDOMETER STAYS AT 50 MPH THEN WHEN YOU SPEED UP IT GOES UP ACCORDINGLY. WHEN YOU STOP THE CAR COMPLETELY THE SPEEDOMETER SAYS YOU ARE STILL GOING 30 MPH. THEN YOU HAVE TO SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND START IT TO TRY AND RESET IT. DOING THIS ONLY TAKES 8 MPH OFF SO IT TAKES A WHILE. IT SEEMS TO DO IT MORE IN THE COLD WEATHER THAN IN WARM WEATHER. I THINK THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW FAST/ SLOW YOU ARE TRULY GOING. AND WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER DOES DECLINE WITH YOUR SPEED IT IS VERY JERKY AND STICKS. *TR
SPEEDOMETER QUITS WORKING AND ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE. ONCE ON DECEMBER 4TH AND YESTERDAY JANUARY 29TH. BOTH TIMES ON THE FREEWAY. *TR
I OWN A 2005 TRAILBLAZER EXT AND THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK. IT IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM ACCORDING TO RESEARCH THAT I HAVE CONDUCTED. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL. GM NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND RECALL THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THE SPEEDOMETER FAILS EVERYTIME THAT I DRIVE IT. THE SPEEDOMETER WON'T GO BACK TO ZERO AND STICKS MAKING IT LOOK LIKE YOU ARE GOING 90-120 MPH. IT COST $450 TO GET THE CLUSTER PANEL REPLACED AND SHOULD BE UNDER THE RECALL ALONG WITH THE CHEVROLET TRUCKS. *TR
FUEL GAUGE NOT WORKING. HAS NOT WORKED FOR A LONG TIME NOW. I WILL NOT PAY 800.00 TO GET IT FIXED. STOPPED WORKING AT AROUND 60,000 MILES. FINALLY RAN OUT OF GAS 1/25/11. I DID NOT KNOW THE POWER STEERING WOULD QUIT WORKING. I WAS SCARED I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO STEER IT OFF THE ROAD SAFELY WITH TRAFFIC BEHIND ME. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
I WAS AT THE GAS STATION FILLING MY TANK AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED ON AND THEN THE LOW FUEL WARNING MESSAGE CAME ON IN THE MESSAGE CENTER ALONG WITH THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR BY THE FUEL GAUGE. I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AND ON AND THE WARNING MESSAGE AND LOW FUEL LIGHT STAYED ON. AFTER DRIVING FOR A WHILE, IT EVENTUALLY GOES OFF, BUT THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT REGISTER MORE THAN A 1/4 OF A TANK EVEN WHEN FILLED UP AND THE WARNING MESSAGE COMES ON ALONG WITH THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR AS SOON AS I START THE TRUCK AFTER FILLING THE TANK AND WHEN THE TRUCK IS IDLING, THE LOW FUEL MESSAGE AND LIGHT COME ON. ANOTHER ISSUE WITH THE TRUCK IS THAT THE LIGHTING SYSTEM DIMS WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN I BOUGHT THIS ISSUE UP AT THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE TRUCK, BUT DID NOTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
