DROVE TO AN APPOINTMENT, WHEN CAME OUT VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. CALLED FOR TOW. AFTER APPROX. 30 MINS. AND BEFORE TOW ARRIVED, VEHICLE STARTED. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME AND MADE APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICE. NEXT DAY WHILE DRIVING TO SHOP FOR SERVICE ENGINE DIED WHILE VEHICLE WAS MOVING. MANAGED TO GET OFF ROAD AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. AFTER A WHILE IT STARTED AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO SHOP. IGNITION SWITCH REPLACED. SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED 6/1/2014. HAD TO HAVE TOWED TO SHOP. A SECOND IGNITION SWITCH REPLACEMENT. CONTACTED CHEVROLET TO INQUIRE WHY 2005 TRAILBLAZER NOT INCLUDED IN IGNITION SWITCH RECALLS AND SEEK POSSIBLE REIMBURSEMENT OF SERVICE COSTS FOR RECURRING PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD TO CONTACT NHTSA AND REPORT. *TR
2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER - MALFUNCTIONING FUEL GAUGE, ERRATIC READING, SAFETY ISSUE, WAS STUCK ON HIGHWAY OUT OF FUEL DUE TO GAUGE ERROR. I WORK FOR A COMPANY THAT SUPPLIES GM SO KNOW WELL THEY ARE AWARE, BUT CHOOSE TO MISLEAD AND SAY THEY DO NOT KNOW THE CAUSE, THEY DO KNOW BUT CHOOSE TO BE IRRESPONSIBLE AN UNETHICAL. I INSTALLED MY DAUGHTER'S SUNSHINE KID'S RADIAN (SKR) REAR FACING IN MY '05 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER OUTBOARD BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT ABOUT 2/3 WEEKS AGO. TODAY WHEN I WAS GOING TO PUT MY DAUGHTER IN HER SEAT I NOTICED THAT THE LATCH STRAP WAS HANGING SO LOOSE THAT I COULD FIT MY FIST IN THERE. WHEN HER SEAT WAS INSTALLED IT WAS SO TIGHT IT DIDN'T MOVE. MODEL # US19500 MANUFACTURE DATE 09/10 (RELATED VEHICLE INFORMATION: MODEL YEAR=2005, MAKE=CHEVY, MODEL=TRAILBLAZER). *TR
MANUFACTURER : GENERAL MOTORS CORP. COMPONENT(S) : I REQUESTS THAT NHTSA OPEN AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE TWO SAFETY ISSUES I HAVE LISTED BELOW. FIRST ISSUE: PERFORMANCE/RELIABILITY OF THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR INSTALLED IN MODEL YEAR 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER VEHICLES. MY 2005 TRAILBLAZER FUEL TANK LEVEL SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE AND COULD RESULT IN A SUBJECT VEHICLE RUNNING OUT OF FUEL, STALL, AND BEING REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. ALSO MAY 2, 2011 THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. PLEASE CHECK INTO IT RIGHT AWAY. I WAS DRIVING MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER HOME TONIGHT AND THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD. I TURNED THE SWITCH OFF AND BACK ON. STILL NO LIGHTS, TURNED THEM OFF AND ON AND LOW BEAM TO HIGH BEAM THEN THEY CAME BACK ON AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE ON HOME. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. MY 1995 LINCOLN TOWN CAR HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND IT WAS SOME KIND OF RECALL HAD TO DO WITH THE AUTO TIMER. IS THERE SOME KIND OF RECALL TO FIX THE CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AMONGST THE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS THAT ARE ALREADY AGAINST THE 2005 CHEVY TRAIL BLAZER? *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE MALFUNCTIONED AFTER ADDING FUEL TO HIS TANK. THE GAUGE WOULD READ EMPTY AND THROUGH OUT THE WEEK IT WOULD FLUCTUATE BETWEEN EMPTY TO FULL AND A HALF OF A TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY A DEALER NOR HAD IT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED HIM THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,500. UPDATED 06/17/11 *BF UPDATED 06/30/11
I AM THE OWNER OF A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL GAUGE I PUT GAS IN MY CAR AND TEN MINUTES LATER IT SAYS EMPTY I HAVE RAN OUT OF GAS ON THE INTERSTATE ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENTS. *TR
I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER (82,000 MILES). I HAVE HAD SENSORS REPLACED, MY HEADLIGHTS RANDOMLY "FLICKER" TO DIM WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, BRAKE LIGHTS AND FRONT TURNING SIGNALS ALL GOING OUT AT THE EXACT SAME TIME AND REPLACING THE BULBS AND/OR FUSES DON'T FIX THE PROBLEM, NOW I HAVE TWO SERVICE ENGINE LIGHTS ON. DEALER SAYS IT IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. THE CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE OVER 20 MPH, IT HAS NO POWER AND THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN AFFECTED BY THE COMPUTER FAILURE. MY TRAILBLAZER WAS DRIVING PERFECTLY FINE, THAN THE BRAKE LIGHTS WENT OUT, FRONT SIGNALS WENT OUT, SERVICE LIGHTS CAME ON AND I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR, ALL WITHIN AN HOUR. THE ONE MODULE THAT IS BEING REPLACED IS 650.00 WITH A DIAGNOSIS FEE OF 200.00 TO CHECK THE COMPUTER SYSTEM OF THE TRANSMISSION AS 7 DIFFERENT CODES CAME UP ON THE TRANSMISSION AS WELL. SO THE REPAIR FEE IS GOING TO BE A FORTUNE. I FIND IT ODD THAT SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME KIND OF ISSUES AND THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL FOR THESE ELECTRICAL ISSUES!!! *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE "KNOWN" PROBLEMS WITH IT. THE MOST RECENT ISSUE IS WITH THE GAS GAUGE. WHEN I FILL MY TANK, THE GAUGE SHOWS AS EMPTY AND DINGS AT ME FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN WILL SUDDENLY JUMP TO 3/4 OF A TANK. ALSO, I WATCH MY MILEAGE BECAUSE I NORMALLY REFILL MY TANK AROUND 300 MILES AND IT SEEMS TO STILL SHOW THAT I HAVE 1/4 OF A TANK AT 300 MILES. UNLESS I'M SUDDENLY GETTING MUCH BETTER GAS MILEAGE, THIS ISN'T POSSIBLE, SO I FILL MY TANK TO BE SAFE. I'M BEING TOLD THIS IS YET ANOTHER "KNOWN" ISSUE AND IT WILL COST ANOTHER $800 TO FIX IT. I'VE HAD 3 "KNOWN" ISSUE IN THE LAST YEAR AND EACH OF THEM SEEM TO COST $800 TO FIX. IF I RUN OUT OF GAS WITH MY CHILD IN THE CAR, IT COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS SINCE MOST OF MY DRIVING IS DONE ON THE INTERSTATE OR EXPRESSWAY. *TR
AS OF 2011 (WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAYS IN MULTIPLE OCCASIONS) I'VE BEEN HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES SUCH AS MY FUEL LEVEL GAGE WOULD READ FULL AND VEHICLE WOULD SHUT OFF CAUSE NO GAS IN TANK, AIR BAGS SENSOR WOULD SHOW IT ON WHEN NO ONE IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, AND THERE ARE SOME ELECTRICAL ISSUES ON DRIVER SEAT CONTROLS NOT WORKING, DASH BOARD GAGES NOT SHOWING READINGS WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION (RMP, SPEEDOMETER, OIL, GAS).
2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER, GAS GAUGE DOES NOT WORK ALL OF THE TIME AND WHEN IT IS WORKING IT IS NOT ACCURATE, SHORTLY AFTER FILLING TANK, LOW FUEL ALARM SOUNDS. THE ALARM IS A DISTRACTION, IN ADDITION THERE ARE TIMES WHEN IT INDICATES THERE IS FUEL AND THE VEHICLE RUNS OUT OF GAS, THE CREATES A HAZARD, GETTING STUCK ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR
AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY IN HEAD-ON COLLISION. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED WHENEVER DISPENSING FUEL INTO THE FUEL TANK TO ITS CAPACITY, THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD DISPLAY AN INACCURATE READING. THE FAILURE WAS CONTINUOUS. THE CONTACT PLANNED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,490.

THE CONTACT DID NOT INFORM THE DEALER OR MANUFACTURER OF THE FAILURE NOR WAS THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,900. FUEL GAUGE ACTS UP HAD GM REPAIR FOR OVER 600.00. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE MALFUNCTIONED AND WAS PROVIDING AN INACCURATE READING OF EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY A DEALER NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 101,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
GAS GAUGE ON VEHICLE DOES NOT GIVE ACCURATE GAS LEVEL IN TANK. READINGS ON THE GAS GAUGE FLUCTUATE WITH VEHICLE IN PARK, GIVES EMPTY WARNING DING WHEN TANK IS FULL, AND READINGS ON GAUGE FLUCTUATE ERRATICALLY AT TIMES WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. HAVE BEEN STUCK ON HIGHWAY WITH AN EMPTY FUEL TANK A COUPLE TIMES WITH MY THREE YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE CAR. IT IS MY CONCERN THAT THIS MAY CAUSE A FIRE IN VEHICLE SO I NO LONGER PUT MY FAMILY IN IT.
MY 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER RAN OUT OF FUEL WHEN AFTER HAVING A HALF A TANK READING THE GAUGE INSTANTLY WENT TO EMPTY AND APPROXIMATELY 3 OR 4 MILES LATER THE TANK WAS EMPTY. NOW THE GAUGE IS COMPLETELY DEAD AND READS EMPTY ALL THE TIME. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN I NOTICED MY SPEEDOMETER SUDDENLY WENT TO 100 MILES AN HOUR. I KNEW THIS COULD NOT BE THE CASE AS MY GPS SHOWED I WAS TRAVELING AT 55MPH. IT THEN WENT TO 120MILES AN HOUR AND FLIP. FLOPPED BACK AND FORTH. I WENT TO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS THE ELECTRICAL CLUSTER AND EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE MANY COMPLAINTS, CHEVROLET WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT. THE COST TO ME WOULD BE OVER $500 I LIVE ON A SMALL SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK, SO COULD NOT AFFORD TO REPAIR IT. NEXT AT 85,000 MILES THE FUEL GAUGE WENT HAYWIRE AND WOULD NOT REGISTER ANY FUEL ALTHOUGH I WOULD FILL IT COMPLETELY. ALSO, THE LIGHTS BLINK OFF AND ON WHEN I AM DRIVING AT NIGHT, SO, I AM AFRAID I WILL BE STRANDED SOMEWHERE IN THE DARK WITH MY CAR QUITTING ALL TOGETHER. THIS WAS MY LAST CAR PURCHASE BEFORE I RETIRED AND I AM JUST SICK THAT THE CHEVROLET COMPANY WILL NOT FIX THESE DEFECTS...THEY FIX THE SAME CLUSTER IN THEIR CHEVROLET TRUCKS....WHY NOT IN THE CARS? BY THE WAY, I JUST GOT A LETTER LAST WEEK SAYING THEY WOULD "SPLIT THE COST " TO FIX THE FUEL GAUGE...(MY COST IS $200 1/3 OF MY SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK!! *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP AND/OR THE COMPUTER CHIP THAT CONTROLS THE FUEL PUMP WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER OFFERED TO COVER HALF THE COST OF THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
WHEN THE GAS TANK IS FILLED,. THE FUEL GAUGE READS EMPTY AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHTS WILL ILLUMINATE. *JS
I HAD RECENTLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN APRIL OF 2011. I STOPPED AFTER GETTING PAID ON A FRIDAY TO FILL UP MY TANK AND WHEN I GO TO TURN ON MY VEHICLE THE GAUGE GOES TO FULL AND JUST DROPS ALL THE WAY TO EMPTY. SINCE THAN I'VE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM RUNNING OUT OF GAS IN THE STREETS DOZENS OF TIME. I TRIED USING MY TRIP BUT MY MPH AREN'T ALWAYS ACCURATE I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW MANY GALLONS MY TANK HOLDS. BEING STRANDED FOR AWHILE WITH MY CHILDREN IS REALLY TOUGH. I CAN'T JUST AFFORD TO PAY OVER $500 TO HAVE MY PROBLEM FIXED JUST BECAUSE GM WON'T BE RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH TO DO A RECALL. *TR
FUEL GAUGE DEFECT; READS EMPTY WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS GAS IN IT. ALSO READS A HIGHER LEVEL OF GAS THAN WHAT IS ACTUALLY IN IT. EVERY MORNING WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE THE FUEL GAUGE LIGHT COMES ON EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS GAS. I NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE VEHICLE, I AM WORRIED IT WILL SHUT OFF WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS BEGAN AT 80000 MILES, AND HAS BEEN CONSTANT EVER SINCE. *TR
GAS GAUGE FAILURE, IRREGULAR GAUGE READINGS THAT STARTED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. I HAVE BEEN USING THE TRIP TO WATCH MY MILEAGE AND FILL UP ABOUT EVER 250 MILES SO THAT I WON'T BE WITHOUT GAS ON THE HIGHWAY AS I LIVE IN A RURAL COMMUNITY AND THE LARGER TOWN IS 25 MILES AWAY. *TR
2005 TRAILBLAZER FUEL SENSOR UNIT FAULTY. FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT CORRECTLY SHOW THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL. IT SHOWS EMPTY ALTHOUGH THE FUEL HAS BEEN FILLED. ON AT LEAST ONE OCCASION MY SPOUSE WAS LEFT STRANDED DUE TO THIS FAILURE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE AND SWERVED OFF OF THE ROAD. PRIOR TO THE CRASH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD BANGING NOISE NEAR THE REAR END OF THE AXLE. THE FRONT DRIVE AXLE AND THE DRIVE TRAIN CONNECTED TO THE REAR AXLE WERE DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HIS RESIDENCE AND IT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO OFFER HIM ANY ASSISTANCE WITH THE FAILURE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON WAS TOLD GAS SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE COULD HARM ENGINE REC'D NOTIFICATION FROM GM TO REPAIR WOULD ONLY PAY HALF OF THE EXPENSE AFTER 3 MONTHS SAME ISSUE GM WOULD NOT PAY ANYTHING. *TR
FUEL GAUGE IS NEVER RIGHT. IT GOES TO EMPTY WHEN YOU FILL IT; AND THEN READS OTHER READINGS INTERMITTENTLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY. *TR
THE GAS GAUGE ON MY 2005 CHEV.TRAIL BLAZER ALWAYS READS EMPTY EVEN IF I FILL IT. IT HAS BEEN FAULTY FOR OVER 2 YEARS. I HAVE ON 4 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS RUN OUT OF FUEL. WHEN CONTACTING A DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND WOULD BE ROUGHLY $900 TO FIX. THE VEHICLE WILL READ EMPTY ALL THE TIME CAUSING STALLING WITH NO RE START. *TR
WHILE DRIVING IT APPEARS THAT MY HEADLIGHTS ARE RECEIVING A SURGE OF POWER WHICH CAUSES THEM TO BLINK AS IF I AM FLASHING MY HEADLIGHTS. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON AND OFF FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS NOW. SINCE THIS HAS STARTED I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY HEADLIGHTS ABOUT EVERY 6 TO 8 MONTHS. AFTER THE THIRD TIME I REPLACED THE SAME HEADLIGHT MY MECHANIC SHOWED ME THE FUSE AND STATED THAT IT SEEMS THERE IS A SURGE OF POWER THAT CAUSES THE FUSES TO BLOW. I EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT MY HEADLIGHTS SEEM TO BLINK ON THEIR OWN EVERY NOW AND THEN AND WE DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND NOTICED THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM IN MID 2000 MODEL TRAILBLAZERS. I CONTACTED GM TO MAKE THEM AWARE WITH NOTHING MORE THAN A, "SORRY FOR YOUR INCONVENIENCE". I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH MY DOOR ELECTRONICS. YOU CAN HEAR THE POWER WINDOWS AND DOOR LOCKS MAKE A CLICKING SOUND AS IF THEY ARE BEING ENGAGED WITHOUT BEING OPERATED. THE SPEAKERS IN THE DOORS DO NOT WORK AFTER IT RAINS OR IN VERY HUMID CONDITIONS. THE POWER WINDOWS AND DOOR LOCK BUTTON LIGHTS WORK ON AND OFF AND BLINK. THE DOOR/KEY CHIME RARELY WORKS. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THERE IS A SERIOUS ISSUE REGARDING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OF THIS MODEL. I RECENTLY HEARD ABOUT THE RECALL STARTING WITH 2006 MODELS WITH ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND I REALLY BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM IS NOT JUST ISOLATED TO THE ELECTRONICS IN THE DOOR, BUT THE OVERALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN THESE VEHICLES. CONSIDERING THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS I HAVE RESEARCHED ONLINE IT SEEMS THAT THESE ARE COMMON PROBLEMS WITH THESE VEHICLES. PLEASE FOR THE SAFETY OF THE CONSUMERS CONSIDER AN INVESTIGATION AND RECALL INTO THE FULL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OF THIS VEHICLE AS IT COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD RISKING FIRE. *TR
I HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH MY 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER AS DOCUMENT DP10001. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO INSTALLED A NEW FUEL SENSOR KIT, GM PART # 19178477. *TR
HEADLIGHTS WENT OFF AND WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON. (LOW BEAMS ONLY) FOG LIGHTS, TURN LIGHTS AND HIGH BEAMS ALL WORK. *TR

SPEEDOMETER QUITS WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. IT WILL WORK FINE FOR AWHILE, AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT SAYS WE ARE TRAVELING 0 MILES PER HOUR OR THE SPEEDOMETER SAYS WE ARE GOING SLOWER THAN OUR ACTUAL SPEED. *TR TODAY I FILLED MY GAS TANK AND NOW MY FUEL GAGE SAYS IT IS ON E AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT IS ON.

COUPLE MONTHS AGO THE SPEEDOMETER STARTED ACTING UP, I WILL BE DRIVING AND IT WILL STOP READING MY SPEED AND GOING DOWN TO 0, IT WILL GET BACK TO NORMAL AFTER I TURN OFF THE CAR AND TURN IT BACK ON, DID THAT COUPLE TIMES, NOT VERY OFTEN, THEN STARTED GETTING STUCK ON WHATEVER SPEED I WAS GOING, AND DIDN'T MATTER IF WAS SLOWING DOWN OR GOING FASTER, WILL STAY AT THAT SPEED ON THE SPEEDOMETER, COUPLE DAYS AGO STARTED TO GO NUTS, NOW WHEN I AM STOPPED READS I AM AT 20 OR 30 MPH, AND WHEN I AM GOING 30 OR 40 STARTS GOING UP AND DOWN, MARKING 100 MPH WHEN I AM ACTUALLY GOING JUST 40 MPH, I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WITH THIS SAME VEHICLE, A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR OLDER MODELS, BUT NOTHING FOR THE 2005, I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX IT RIGHT NOW, AND I HAVE TO USE MY GPS UNIT TO KNOW HOW FAST I AM GOING, AND AVOID GETTING PULL OVER OR CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, BUT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM, I WILL LIKE TO HAVE CHEVROLET TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE PROBLEM, IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND IS CLEARLY A CHEVY ISSUE NOT A CONSUMER ONE, WE PAID FOR A PRODUCT THAT SUPPOSED TO WORK PROPERLY AND IT IS NOT. *TR
MARCH 30, 2011, I SPENT $80.00 ON FUEL TO FILL MY TRAILBLAZER WITH GAS. I STARTED DRIVING AND THE GAS GAUGE NEVER MOVED, AND WAS STILL SHOWING EMPTY WITH THE LOW FUEL WARNING CHIMING. WHEN I WAS ALMOST HOME THE FUEL GAUGE FINALLY STARTED MOVING BUT NEVER WENT PAST A HALF TANK. I INSPECTED THE VEHICLE TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY SIGNS OF A FUEL LEAK AND NOTHING LOOKED OUT OF THE ORDINARY. WHEN I HAD TO LEAVE AGAIN TO RUN ERRANDS THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD MOVE, HOWEVER, IT WOULD GO BACK DOWN TO EMPTY WHEN I WAS STOPPED OR PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH REAR TAIL LIGHT PANEL WIRES FRYING AND HAVING TO REPLACE THOSE WHEN THERE WERE NO APPARENT CAUSES (MOISTURE, ETC.). LIGHTS DIMMING WHILE I ROLL UP A WINDOW OR PUSH OTHER BUTTONS IN THE CAR (RADIO, CLIMATE CONTROL) AND LIGHTS IN CERTAIN AREAS OF THE CAR JUST BLOWING OUT. FUSES ARE FINE, ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY ARE FINE. WHY IS THIS VEHICLE HAVING SO MANY PROBLEMS AT 56,000 MILES? I UNDERSTAND THAT THESE ARE NOT LIFE THREATENING ISSUES, BUT WHAT IS NEXT. WHY DO I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY MONITOR MY MILEAGE JUST TO MAKE SURE I DON'T STALL OR RUN OUT OF GAS WHEN I AM DRIVING. ARE WE THE CUSTOMERS SUPPOSED TO SHELL OUT $$$ TO HAVE REPAIRS DONE CONTINUALLY ON DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND COMPONENTS. I DON'T THINK SO. GMC NEEDS TO DRASTICALLY IMPROVE THE QUALITY AND DURABILITY OF THEIR PRODUCTS, AND STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND TAKE CARE OF THE CUSTOMERS THEY DO HAVE. WORD OF MOUTH IS WAY MORE EFFECTIVE THAN MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN ADVERTISING.
SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER MALFUNCTIONING. AFTER SEEING THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE MODELS AND OTHERS THAT DID HAVE A RECALL I FELT IT WAS MY DUTY TO FILE THIS COMPLAINT. THE SPEEDOMETER READS 70 WHEN I AM STOPPED AND WELL OVER 120 WHEN I' DOING 30 AS PER MY GPS
THE FRONT BLOWER STOPPED WORKING WHILE MY WIFE WAS COMING HOME FROM A TRIP WITH MY KIDS .THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS 28 DEGREES THE WINDOWS FOGGED UP AND SHE HIT A DEER THAT SHE WOULD HAVE SEEN IF THE WINDOWS WEREN'T FOGGED.I HAVE REPLCED THE BLOWER RESISTOR SWITCH WHICH HAD A BURNT CONNECTOR IT LASTED 3 WEEKS AND HAS GONE OUT AGAIN. THIS IS A VERY BAD PROBLEM BECAUSE EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE THIS PROBLEM REPAIRED IT STILL MALFUNCTIONS WITHOUT WARNING. THIS IS PUTTING MYFAMILY AT GREAT RISK. ONTHE OTHER HAND HAD I KNOWN THAT THERE WAS PROBLEMS WITH CHEVY TRAILBRAZERS AND DEFECTIVE PARTS I WOULD HAVE BROUGHT A TOYOTA. *TR
PROBLEMS WITH MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER STARTED WITH A SERIES OF ENGINE LIGHTS, MISFIRING AND STALLING AT LOW SPEEDS AND UPON ACCELERATION. MY THERMOSTAT HAS BEEN REPLACED NUMEROUS AMOUNT OF TIMES . I DO PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE TO KEEP MY CAR IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION. I'M A SINGLE PARENT I NEED MY CAR. MY ENTIRE DASHBOARD STOPPED WORKING AFTER GETTING STUCK ON AND OFF. THE FUEL GAUGE WAS LAST TO GO 3 DAYS AGO. I FILL UP MY TANK IT STILL READS EMPTY WITH THE LIGHT. MY TAILGATE DOOR THE LATCH LOCKS UP. I MANUALLY HAVE TO MOVE TO LATCH SO IT CLOSES. MY DOORS STICKING WHEN THE CAR IS UNLOCKED AND IT HARD TO GET OUT THE LOCKS DON'T UNLATCH THE FIRST TIME. MY CAR IS VERY NICE UNTIL U GET IN IT TO SEE EVERYTHING IS MALFUNCTIONING. I GUESS MY SPEED, GAS LEVEL AND THAT'S NOT COOL. I BEEN GOING THROUGH THESE SAME PROBLEMS SINCE 2011 AND IT'S 2014. THE FUEL GAUGE WAS THE LAST TO GO RECENTLY. WHEN I FILL UP MY TANK IT STILL READS EMPTY WITH THE INDICATOR LIGHT. MY REPAIR WAS $565 WE THOUGHT IT WAS EXHAUST LEAK AND HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE MANIFOLD IT WAS CRACKED... I ABSOLUTELY CAN'T AFFORD ANYTHING ELSE AND I NEED TIRES.PLEASE HELP I'M FURIOUS. . WHEN YOU PURCHASE A VEHICLE YOU EXPECT IT TO LAST. THAT DOESN'T. MY MECHANICS HAVE BEEN THE SAME SINCE DAY ONE AND HAVE GIVEN ME EVERY DISCOUNT AND WARRANTY . I WANT MY VEHICLE REPAIRED I CAN'T PHYSICALLY CAUSE THIS TYPE OF DAMAGE . IT'S INTERNAL AND NOT MY FAULT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER XLT. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THERE WAS A BURNING OR SMOKE ODOR AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. IN ADDITION, THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR AND THE AIR AUXILIARY VALVE WAS DEFECTIVE AND WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THERE WERE NO RELATED RECALLS TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
MY EXTERIOR HEADLIGHTS WILL TURN OFF WHILE I AM DRIVING AND STAY OFF FOR 1-10 MINUTES. THE DEALER STATES THAT THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS THE CAR ACTUALLY DOES IT WHILE THEY HAVE THE CAR. IT ONLY DOES IT EVERY FEW WEEKS, SOMETIMES A COUPLE OF MONTHS. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE BEGAN TO BE INACCURATE. IT WOULD OCCASIONALLY WORK BUT NOT CONSISTENTLY. AFTER ABOUT 2 MONTHS THE GAUGE STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. THE PROBLEM WAS THE SENSOR IN THE GAS TANK MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED REPLACED. ONCE THE SENSOR REPLACED THE GAS GAUGE WORKS ACCURATELY. THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT WAS $465. *KB
MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING. ON MARCH 19, 2011, WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT I LOOKED DOWN AT THE SPEEDOMETER AND IT WAS READING 80 MPH STANDING STILL. THE SPEEDOMETER READS 120+ WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW FAST I AM GOING, I JUST KEEP UP WITH THE TRAFFIC. THIS IS MY WIFE'S CAR AND I FEEL THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. I LOOKED ON THE WEB TO SEE HOW I COULD REPAIR THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT OWN CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND INFORMED HER THAT THERE WERE NO ERROR CODES OR WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED; THEREFORE, THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE DEALER IN REGARDS TO THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE PROBLEMS WITH THE CHIPS IN THE COMPUTER AND THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER WANTS THE CONTACT TO PAY FOR AN ADDITIONAL DIAGNOSTICS TEST ALTHOUGH THE LOCAL MECHANIC COMPLETED ONE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
I DRIVE A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAIL BLAZER. THE GAS GAUGE IS WILDLY INACCURATE. IN FACT, WHEN I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE, I RAN OUT OF GAS. IT WAS IN THE EVENING DURING THE COLD MICHIGAN WINTER AND I HAD MY 6 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER WITH ME IN HER CAR SEAT. THE GAUGE DOES NOT PROVIDE ME WITH AN ACCURATE IDEA OF HOW MUCH FUEL IS LEFT IN THE TANK AND I AM FORCED TO EITHER USE MY ODOMETER OR JUST MAKE AN EDUCATED GUESS. TODAY I WAS MAKING A TRIP TO MY STORAGE UNIT AND DECIDED TO LEAVE THE CAR RUNNING SINCE MY 4 MONTH OLD SON WAS INSIDE AND IT WAS A WARM DAY. MY DOORS AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK WHEN I PUT IT INTO PARK, AND I GOT OUT, WALKED AROUND THE CAR TO OPEN MY SONS DOOR SO I COULD HEAR HIM. THE DOORS WERE ALL LOCKED! I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY LOCKED THEMSELVES, BUT NOT EVEN THE DRIVERS DOOR THAT ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO LOCK WITH THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION, WAS OPEN! SO MY CELL PHONE AND INFANT WERE BOTH LOCKED IN MY CAR WITH IT RUNNING AND MY BABY CRYING. I HAD TO SIT THERE AND WATCH HIM CRY THROUGH THE WINDOW, BECAUSE I WAS STUPID ENOUGH TO BELIEVE THE MANUAL WHEN IT SAID THE DOORS COULDN'T LOCK. THANKFULLY MY DAD LIVES CLOSE BY AND I WAS ABLE TO BORROW A CELL PHONE AND HAVE HIM GO AND GET THE KEYS FROM MY HUSBAND AT WORK. HAD THE CAR BEEN OFF HE COULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY HOT BY THE TIME I GOT THE DOORS UNLOCKED AND GOT HIM OUT. *TR
THERE IS A CHEVROLET ISSUE WITH THE GAS GAUGES THAT CHEVROLET WILL NOT TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR. THEY ARE ASKING CUSTOMERS TO PAY 1/2 WHICH CAN COST US TO $300 OR MORE FOR THE CUSTOMER. THE GAS GAUGE IS REGISTERING FULL THEN EMPTY WITHOUT NOTICE. THE GAUGE LIGHTS UP EMPTY EVEN WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. WE NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE CAR. I HAVE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THIS FIXED BUT CHEVROLET IS NOT COVERING THE ENTIRE COST AND THIS IS TRULY A MANUFACTURER RECALL. *JB
