FUEL GAUGE READING ERRATICALLY, OFTEN READS EMPTY AFTER FILL-UP. SUSPECT FAULTY FUEL SENDING UNIT AS STATED BY LOCAL MECHANIC WHO SAID THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE FORM THIS MANUFACTURER.
GAS GAUGE STOPPED WORKING ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO. SHOWS AS EMPTY EVEN WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. IT'S VERY FRUSTRATING AS YOU HAVE TO ALWAYS REMEMBER TO FILL UP TO COUNT THE MILES. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM CHEVY A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO LETTING ME KNOW THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND WILL COVER 50% OF THE COST OF GETTING IT FIX. BUT WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY AT ALL? IT'S NOT MY FAULT, I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY AT ALL. *TR
2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. HEAT/AC STOPS WORKING ON 5..THEN EVENTUALLY 4 STOPS AND SO ON UNTIL NONE OF IT WORKS. THE WIRES GET TO HOT AND MELT TOGETHER. I KNOW SO MANY PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM YET CHEVY STILL DOESN'T RECALL IT!? *TR
FUEL GAUGE FAILING. 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LT 4X4 4.2L I6 THE FUEL GAUGE WILL STATE AN INCORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL REMAINING. AFTER FILLING FUEL THE GAUGE WILL STATE EMPTY. AFTER ABOUT 20 MILES DRIVEN THEN THE GAUGE WILL SLOWLY COME BACK AND READ FULL. AS THE FUEL IS USED UP IN TANK THE GAUGE WILL BE OFF BY UP TO A 1/4 OF A TANK. *TR
MY CAR'S GAS GAUGE READS THAT I HAVE 0 GAS WHEN I DO. I'VE FILLED IT UP SO MANY TIMES,ITS COSTING ME TOO MUCH MONEY TO KEEP FILLING IT UP. COST TO REPAIR $1000! *TR
THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD ON MY ENGINE HAD CRACKED AND THE MOUNTING BOLTS HAD BROKEN CAUSING AN EXHAUST LEAK. *TR
FILLED UP WITH GASOLINE. FUEL GAUGE SAID EMPTY AND FUEL LIGHT REMAINED ON AND WARNING BELL SOUNDED. AFTER QUITE SOME TIME, USUALLY WITH MULTIPLE START UPS, THE FUEL LIGHT WENT OFF AND GAUGE WORKED ALTHOUGH INTERMITTENTLY AND NOT NECESSARILY ACCURATELY. IT WOULD GO UP AND DOWN AT DIFFERENT TIMES. IT WAS NOT NOTICEABLE IF ANY PARTICULAR ACTION AFFECTED IT, SUCH AS ACCELERATION. *TR
STEPPER MOTORS IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ALL WENT OUT IN THREE SEPARATE GAUGES. SPEEDOMETER, ALTERNATOR AND OIL PRESSURE GAUGES. ITEMS FAILED AND GAUGES BECAME ERRATIC AND THEN POINTED EITHER STRAIGHT DOWN OR PEGGED LEFT OR RIGHT. GIVING INCORRECT OR NO READING. *TR
ON MON. JUNE 20, 2011 I STOPPED TO GET GAS WITH THE GAS GAUGE REGISTERING BETWEEN 1/4 AND EMPTY W/GAS LIGHT ON. AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK THE GAGE CONTINUED TO REGISTER THE SAME W/GAS LIGHT ON. THE FOLLOWING DAY THE GAS GAUGE STARTED INCHING UP TO THE FULL MARK AND REMAINED THERE AND STARTED REGISTERING AS GAS USAGE DECREASED. NOT SURE IF WAS ACCURATE. UPON FUELING AGAIN, THE SAME PROCESS STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN. THE GAGE WILL PERIODICALLY FLUCTUATE UP AND DOWN. *TR
MY 2005 TRAILBLAZER'S FUEL GAUGE SHOWED A READING OF ALMOST 1/2 FULL, BUT WAS ACTUALLY EMPTY. AS A RESULT, MY TRAILBLAZER'S ENGINE DIED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND I NARROWLY MISSED BEING REAR ENDED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER. BEFORE I COULD GET OFF THE HIGHWAY. I RESEARCHED THE SITUATION AND FOUND THAT WILDLY FLUCTUATING FUEL GAUGES ARE COMMON IN THIS GM MODEL. IN MY OPINION THIS DEFECT COULD LEAD TO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
FUEL GAUGE WAS INACCURATE. WOULD READ FULL WHEN EMPTY, EMPTY WHEN FULL, ETC. HAD FAULTY FUEL SENDING UNIT REPLACED BY DEALER TO SOLVE PROBLEM. *TT
2005 TRAILBLAZER FUEL GAUGE NOT PROPERLY WORKING.WHEN SUV IS FILLED WITH GASOLINE IT WILL INDICATE THE TANK IS EMPTY. THEN AFTER FILLING IT WILL JUMP FROM HALF TO EMPTY NOT PROPERLY READING HAS CAUSE ME TO RUN OUT OF GAS SEVERAL TIMES. ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT DO TO A COMPLETE STALL ON THE INTERSTATE. REALLY CONCERNED AND FEEL THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY GM BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR POSSIBLE KILLED. *TR
A WEEK AGO, MY GAS GAUGE LIGHT CAME ON LIKE NORMAL INDICATING I NEEDED FUEL. I FILLED UP MY GAS TANK. WHEN I STARTED MY ENGINE, THE GAS GAUGE LIGHT WAS STILL ON AND THE GAS GAUGE INDICATED EMPTY. IN FACT, IT SHOWED LESS GAS THAN PRIOR TO THE FILL-UP. OVER THE WEEK, THE GAS GAUGE APPEARED TO CORRECT ITSELF. HOWEVER, I AGAIN FILLED MY GAS TANK YESTERDAY BECAUSE MY GAS GAUGE INDICATOR WAS ON. ONCE AGAIN, THE LIGHT REMAINED ON AFTER FILLING MY TANK AND THE GAUGE SHOWED LESS GAS THAN PRIOR TO FILL UP. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS AS I COULD EASILY RUN OUT OF GAS WITHOUT REALIZING I NEEDED FUEL. I WILL BE MAKING A TRIP TO PARRIS ISLAND, SC IN AUGUST TO SEE MY DAUGHTER GRADUATE FROM THE US MARINE CORPS BASIC TRAINING PROGRAM. THAT IS A 16 HOUR DRIVE, ONE WAY. IF I CANNOT GAUGE THE AMOUNT OF FUEL I HAVE FOR THE TRIP, MY FAMILY COULD BE STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. I HEARD ABOUT THE POSSIBLE RECALL DUE TO THIS INVESTIGATION; THEREFORE, I HAVE NOT TRIED TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE VEHICLE AT THIS POINT. *TR

FAULTY FUEL GUAGE READING, VEHICLE STALL. *TR
2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. FAULTY GAS GAUGE. WAS FINE TODAY 6/14,2011 UNTIL I FILLED UP. GAUGE WENT FROM FULL AFTER FILLING TO SHOWING EMPTY AND HAS NOT REST ITSELF. NOTICED IN PAST THAT IT SEEMED TO BE STUCK AT 1/4 TANK BUT TOOK ALMOST 20 GALLONS TO FILL. GAUGE RESET AFTER A FEW MILES AND SEEMED TO BE FINE UNTIL TODAY. AND NOW TODAY, GAS GAUGE READS EMPTY ON A FULL TANK. *TR
ACCELERATION SLUGGISH AT FIRST. THEN THE RPM'S WOULD INCREASE WITHOUT ANY ACCELERATION. FINALLY, WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF 2ND GEAR AND IF WENT ABOVE 30 THE RPM'S WOULD INCREASE WITHOUT ANYMORE POWER TO THE WHEELS. FOUND A TRANSMISSION HOSE BLOWN ALSO. *TR
THIS COMPLAINT IS CONCERNING A DEFECTIVE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR. ON OR NEAR THE INCIDENT DATE, THE VEHICLE'S FUEL TANK WAS FILLED TO THE TOP. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THE TANK WAS COMPLETELY FILLED IN SEVERAL MONTHS (DUE TO HIGH GAS PRICES). UPON DRIVING AWAY FROM THE PUMP, THE DASH FUEL GAUGE READ 'EMPTY'. PRIOR TO TOPPING OFF THE TANK, THE GAUGE WAS READING APPROXIMATELY 1/3 FULL. THE GAUGE CONTINUED TO READ 'EMPTY' UNTIL THE LEVEL WAS DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 7/8 FULL. AFTER THAT, THE GAUGE VARIED BETWEEN LESS THAN 1/8 FULL TO ACTUAL LEVEL AND SOMETIMES WOULD READ 'EMPTY' BRIEFLY. AFTER THE FUEL WAS DOWN TO LESS THAN 3/4 FULL, THE GAUGE APPEARED TO READ NORMAL UNTIL FILLED AGAIN. THIS PATTERN BASICALLY HAS CONTINUED TO GET WORSE. NOW, WHEN THE TANK IS TOPPED OFF, IT STILL READS 'EMPTY' BUT DOESN'T READ 'NORMAL' UNTIL DOWN TO ABOUT 1/4 TANK. I HAVE RESORTED TO LOGGING MILEAGE AND DATE WHEN TOPPING OFF THE TANK AND REFILLING BEFORE THE TANK SHOULD BE EMPTY BASED ON MILEAGE.
MY SPEEDOMETER ALL OF A SUDDEN JUMPED TO OVER 70MPH WHEN I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 30MPH. SINCE JUNE OF THIS YEAR IT HAS HAPPENED NUMBEROUS TIMES. NOW IT JUST SITS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SPEEDOMETER WHEN IT IS TURNED OFF. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT 370. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD NOT REGISTER HOW MUCH FUEL WAS IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF A MANUFACTURERS SAFETY CAMPAIGN IN WHICH THE MANUFACTURER WOULD COVER FIFTY PERCENT OF THE REPAIR COSTS IF THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 110,000 CUMULATIVE MILES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS AT 145,000 MILES AND THE MANUFACTURER DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS A CONCURRENT INVESTIGATION PERTAINING TO THE FAILURE UNDER NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE11014 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER: STORAGE: FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE I NOTICED A POP AND UPON FURTHER REVIEW OF THE VEHICLE, I FOUND THAT THE THIRD TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS BROKEN FREE FROM THE CLIPS THAT HOLD IT ON TO THE VEHICLE. IT IS STILL ATTACHED BY 1 BOLT BUT THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IF THE ASSEMBLY BREAKS FREE. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE THAT COULD CAUSE SEVERE DAMAGE TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER IMMEDIATELY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT SATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED AND THE GAUGE WOULD READ EMPTY WHETHER THE FUEL TANK WAS FULL OR EMPTY. THE CONTACT RESET THE TRIP COMPUTER TO BE ABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RUN OUT OF FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THE FUEL PUMP SENSOR FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
FUEL GAUGE NOT READING RIGHT. RAN OUT SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE GOT STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF BUSY STREETS, AT INTERSECTIONS, AND ON HIGHWAY. HAVE CHILDREN AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY, FUEL GAUGE BEGAN MOVING RADICALLY FROM EMPTY TO FULL AND NEVER STABILIZED. EACH TIME THE GAUGE APPROACHED THE "EMPTY" THE WARNING LIGHT AND ALARM WOULD SOUND. CONSTANT MOVEMENT OF FUEL GAUGE AND ALARM IS DISTRACTING TO DRIVER. INACCURATE FUEL MEASUREMENT CAUSES CONCERN FOR DIVER WHICH IS AN UNNECESSARY DISTRACTION FROM DRIVING THAT COULD LEAD TO ACCIDENT.
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THAT ABOUT A MONTH AGO THE FUEL LIGHT CAME ON AND STARTED TO DING. I HAD JUST FILLED IT ABOUT JUST AN HOUR BRFORE THAT. I CHANGED THE GAS CAP AND THAT DIDN'T WORK. THE GAS GAUGE STILL DOESN'T WORK RIGHT AND IT'S STILL DINGING. I HAVE TO KEEP PUTTING GAS IN IT JUST ABOUT EVERYDAY SO I DON'T RUN OUT OF GAS. *TT

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 104,000. UPDATED 07/20/11*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED HE RAN OUT OF FUEL ON THREE OCCASIONS. THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUEL GAUGE READ FULL, WHEN THERE WAS NO GAS AND IT READ EMPTY, WHEN THERE WAS GAS. UPDATED 12/02/11
MY GAS GAUGE SUDDENLY BEGAN MALFUNCTIONING AFTER FILLING THE TANK. THE GAUGE WENT DOWN TO EMPTY, SETTING OFF THE VISUAL AND AUDIBLE INDICATORS FOR AN EMPTY TANK. AFTER DRIVING FOR AWHILE, THE GAUGE BEGAN TO SLOWLY RISE. THIS NOW HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL THE TANK, BUT NOW THE GAUGE NEVER GOES UP TO THE FULL POINT, USUALLY STAYING AROUND HALF OF A TANK UNTIL IT STARTS TO DECLINE AGAIN. I CAN NO LONGER TRUST THE GAUGE. I HAVE HEARD THAT THIS IS BECOMING A COMMON PROBLEM ON SOME OF THE CHEVY MODELS, PARTICULARLY THE TRAILBLAZER.
THE SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING ALONG WITH OTHER CONTROLS ON THE GAUGE CLUSTER. IT SEEMS THAT THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS IN GM VEHICLES SO I AM CURIOUS AS TO WHY THIS HAS YET TO BE RECALLED. MOST PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE $500+ LAYING AROUND TO GET THIS FIXED. *TR
2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER CONSISTENTLY REGISTER INCORRECT FUEL LEVEL CAUSING AN UNSAFE CONDITION WHERE THE DRIVER CANNOT DETERMINE CURRENT FUEL LEVEL. GAUGE INSTANTLY READS EMPTY UPON FILLING , AND THEN MOVES ERRATICALLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS CONDITION IS UNSAFE AS IT CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO STALL AT SPEED WHILE IN TRAFFIC. THIS ACCORDING TO RESEARCH IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN THIS VEHICLE AND LIKE GM MODELS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT370. THE CONTACT DISPENSED FUEL INTO THE FUEL TANK AND THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED AN INACCURATE EMPTY READING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 101,200.
LAST SUMMER MY FUEL GAUGE STARTED ACTING POORLY WITH MISREADINGS. MY VEHICLE IS A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. AT THE ONSET OF THE ERROR I RAN OUT OF FUEL IN A POOR PART OF TOWN CAUSING ME MUCH DISTRESS. A COUPLE MONTHS LATER GM SAID THEY ARE AWARE OF THEIR FAULY EQUIPMENT AND ONLY OFFERED TO PAY FOR HALF OF THE FIX. THE ERROR THEY CLAIM IS A FAULTY FUEL SENSOR. *TT

FUEL GAUGE FAILURE ON 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT. MY TWO GIRLS HAVE BOTH BEEN IN POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS WHEN THEY RAN OUT OF GAS IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE NOT HAD IT REPAIRED BECAUSE IT IS ESTIMATED BY 2 MECHANICS AT @ $850.00. *TR
2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED IN 2008 WITH ONLY 33,868 MILES ON IT. HAVE 78,158 ON VEHICLE NOW AND LAST MONTH HAD TO HAVE THE RADIATOR REPLACED AND TRANSMISSION REBUILT. THE PLACE THAT DID THE REPAIRS TOLD ME HE GETS ABOUT 3-5 TRAILBLAZERS A YEAR WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. HE HAD 2 FOLKS CALL ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE WHILE MINE WAS ON THE RACK. SEEMS THE RADIATOR DEVELOPS A SMALL LEAK IN THE SYSTEM THAT COOLS THE TRANS AND CAUSES THE TRANSMISSION TO FAIL. HAD NO REAL ISSUES UNTIL LAST MONTH WHEN VEHICLE WOULD NOT COME OUT OF 3RD GEAR. COULD PUT AUTO TRANSMISSION IN TO 1 OR 2 AND THEN BE ABLE TO TAKE OFF FROM DEAD STOP AND SHIFT INTO DRIVE TO GET THE VEHICLE HOME AND THEN TO SHOP. HAVE LOOKED ONLINE TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE AND THERE HAS NOT, BUT APPEARS THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. TOTAL COST FOR VEHICLE REPAIR WAS $2,814.17. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THAT I JUST FOUND OUT NEEDS A BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR REPLACED. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THE CHEVY VEHICLE. THE WIRES WERE MELTED BY THE CONNECTION WHICH COULD EASILY SPARK A FIRE. WITH THREE YOUNG CHILDREN IN CAR SEATS A FIRE INSIDE THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE WOULD BE DISASTROUS. THE BLOWER/FAN ON THE AIR CONDITIONER/HEATER STOPPED WORKING. IT FIRST BEGAN WITH #4 AND #5 ON THE FAN SELECTOR SWITCH NOT WORKING, BUT THEN IT STOPPED ALTOGETHER. AFTER DOING RESEARCH THIS BLOWER MOTOR PROBLEM IS VERY POPULAR AMONGST THESE VEHICLES. ALSO, THE FUEL GAUGE ON THE DASH HASN'T WORKED IN ABOUT 3 YEARS. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS DUE TO THE FUEL SENSOR IN THE FUEL TANK. AGAIN, THIS IS VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE WITHIN THE TRAILBLAZER COMMUNITY. I WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE OF $774 FOR THE BLOWER MOTOR TO BE FIXED AND $600 FOR THE FUEL GAUGE TO BE FIXED. *TR
SPEEDOMETER KEEPS GETTING STUCK. CHEVY HAS BEEN TOLD ABOUT IT. BUT THEY WANT ME TO PAY ANOTHER 500 TO FIX IT. AND THIS IS THE SECOND TIME. THEY HAVE HAD RECALLS ON THE 2003 AND 2004 FOR THE SAME THING. BUT WILL NOT ADMIT THE 2005 . *TR
FUEL GAUGE INDICATED ALMOST 1/2 TANK OF FUEL BUT WAS REALLY EMPTY. STALLED IN FAST LANE OF 4 LANE HIGHWAY AT 70MPH. NEAR REAR-END COLLISION. DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP SENDER ASSEMBLY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GASOLINE GAUGE AND THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED. SHE WAS UNABLE TO SEE HOW FAST SHE WAS TRAVELING OR WHETHER OR NOT SHE HAD A SUFFICIENT AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD ALSO SHUT OFF ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS WHICH CAUSED HER TO CHANGE THE BULBS FREQUENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY A DEALER NOR HAD IT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED HER THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 104,000.

I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IN DEC 2010 FOR MY BIRTHDAY, THEN STARTED SMELLING GAS SO TOOK IT BACK TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE FLOATER IN GAS TANK AND IT WAS FINE FOR AWHILE, THEN ONE DAY I WENT AND FILLED UP THE TANK, GOT IN AND STARTED IT UP AND IT SAID EMPTY AND HAD THE LIGHT ON (WHEN I KNEW IT WAS FULL), SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD TO RELY ON THE MILES TO KNOW IF I STILL HAVE GAS, WHICH IS HARD TO DO IF YOU DON'T FILL IT UP ALL THE TIME. I AM AFRAID OF HAVING MY GRANDSONS WITH ME ONE DAY AND RUNNING OUT OF GAS BECAUSE IT DON'T WORK..PLEASE RECALL THIS IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO NOT KNOW IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH GAS WHEN YOU HAVE TO GO SOMEWHERE. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED SINCE IT WAS JUST FIXED A FEW MONTHS AGO. WILL THIS BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM? FUEL SENSOR FAULT CAUSING FUEL GAUGE INDICATOR TO FAIL AND/OR FUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY. PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED BY CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND PER CURRENT ONGOING DEFECTIVE INVESTIGATIONS, ISSUE IS THE SAME AS INDICATED BY NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: DP10001 SPOKE WITH GM CUSTOMER COMPLAINT GROUP AND AT THE TIME OF THIS SUBMISSION WAS INFORMED THEY WOULD RESPOND WITHIN 24 HOURS WITH AN OPTION. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE HAS FAILED. *TR
GAS GAUGE QUIT WORKING. STEPPER MOTOR REPLACED, SUSPECTED FUEL SENSOR MALFUNCTION. SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON DEFECT IN THESE VEHICLES. *KB
FUEL SENSOR IS DAMAGED. REGARDLESS IF TANK IS FULL OR 1/2 FULL. THE FUEL GAUGE ALWAYS READS EMPTY, WITH THE LIGHT ON. AFTER A LONG PERIOD OF DRIVING, FUEL GAUGE MAY GO UP TO 1/4 TANK BUT WILL GO BACK TO EMPTY AFTER CAR IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. ONLY WAY TO BE SAFE AND AWARE OF FUEL LEVEL, IS TO FILL UP THE VEHICLE WITH GAS AND RESTART THE MILEAGE.
