ALL LIGHTS HEADLIGHTS DASH AND DOME FLICKERING DRIVING BUT NOT EVERYTIME. ALT HAS BEEN RELOCATED 2 TIMES STILL HAVE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
FUEL SENSOR WITHIN FUEL TANK HAS FAILED TWICE WITHIN 130,000 MILES. IDLER PULLEY HAS BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES WITHIN 120,000 MILES. *TR
MY 2005 TRAILBLAZER'S FUEL SENSOR AS EXPLAINED IN YOUR DP10001 HAS BEEN MALFUNCTIONING FOR MANY MONTHS. GM DEALER DOESN'T SEEM TO BE AWARE OF IT, BUT IT SEEMS MANY OWNERS (1000"S) HAVE THE SEEM PROBLEM, SOME HAVE HAD THEIR COMPUTER SHUT DOWN THE CAR WHILE DRIVING. SHOULDN'T THERE BE A RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM. THE FUEL GAUGE ALWAYS READS EMPTY. *TR
IN REGARDS TO MY COMPLAINT #1030331, DP10-001 REGARDING MY COMPLAINT OF MY FUEL SENSOR AND GAUGE ALWAYS READING EMPTY AND THE FACT THAT THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR ON MY 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER, I DIDN"T HAVE THE VIN NUMBER AT THE TIME. I WOULD LIKE TO PROVIDE IT TO YOU AT THIS TIME IN YOUR FORM. PLEASE ADD IT TO MY PREVIOUS COMPLAINT. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT SEEMS TO BE PREVALENT IN SEVERAL YEARS OF THE TRAILBLAZERS EXISTENCE AND COULD BE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION ESPECIALLY IF THE COMPUTER DECIDES TO SHUT THE TRUCK DOWN AT AN INOPPORTUNE TIME. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PANEL IN MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IS SEVERELY OUT OF WHACK! IT STARTED ABOUT A YEAR AGO WHEN MY SPEEDOMETER TOLD ME I WAS GOING 90 MPH WHEN I WAS ACTUALLY GOING ABOUT 50 MPH. IT EVENTUALLY CORRECTED ITSELF, BUT NOW IT GOES OUT EVERY SO OFTEN WITHOUT WARNING. SINCE THE TIME WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER 1ST WENT OUT, MY OIL GAUGE IS COMPLETELY PEGGED OUT AND WILL NOT CORRECT ITSELF, THE BATTERY GAUGE COMES AND GOES, AS WELL AS THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE. I HAVE BEEN READING FORUMS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WITH TRAILBLAZERS ALL OVER THE U.S. AND IT SEEMS THAT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL TO HAVE THE CLUSTER PANEL CORRECTED BECAUSE IT IS AN OBVIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE GM TRAILBLAZERS. IF YOU ASK ME, I BELIEVE IT CAN BE A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD WHEN YOU ARE UNCERTAIN AS TO HOW FAST YOU MAY OR MAY NOT BE DRIVING. I HAVE READ WHERE A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THEIR GAS GAUGE GO COMPLETELY OUT AS WELL. MINE TRIED TO QUICK WORKING FOR ME ONLY ONE TIME, BUT CORRECTED ITSELF WITHIN 24 HOURS. JUST AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE ON DECEMBER 29, 2008, I NOTICED THE ENGINE HAS ACCELERATED AND THE CAR SURGES FORWARD WHEN STOPPED. IF I DO NOT KEEP MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THERE IS A HIGH POTENTIAL OF SURGING INTO THE BACK OF A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. AN ACCIDENT HAS ALMOST HAPPENED MANY TIMES. I HAVE HAD IT LOOKED AT BY THE DEALER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM ON FEBRUARY 4,2009 AND WAS TOLD THERE IS NOT A PROBLEM. IT MOST LIKELY WILL "NOT BE A PROBLEM" UNTIL I REAR END SOMEONE WHILE STOPPED. THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN ON A REGULAR BASIS, A YEAR AND A HALF LATER. I WAS NOT AWARE I HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO REPORT UNTIL THE TOYOTA RECALL HAPPENED. I HAVE BEEN LIVING WITH IT, ANTICIPATING THE SURGE EVERY TIME I AM AT A STOP. *TR
OVER A YR AGO MY FUEL GAUGE STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY IT READS EMPTY ALL THE TIME AND MY FIANCE HAS RAN OUT OF GAS AND BEEN STRANDED 3 TIMES SINCE THIS HAS HAPPEN IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THIS DEVICE WORKS PROPERLY IT COSTS APPROX. $500 JUST FOR THE PART ALONE AND IM NOTICING IM NOT THE ONLY PERSON HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THE FUEL GAUGE NEVER DISPLAYED AN ACCURATE READING. THE FUEL GAUGE FLUCTUATED BETWEEN DISPLAYING AN INACCURATE READING AND EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL SENSOR WAS NO LONGER FUNCTIONING AND THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
SPEEDOMETER IS BROKE MOSTLY ON 0 MILES PER HOUR WHILE DRIVING. I MAY BE OVER SPEED LIMIT WITHOUT KNOWING. *TR
2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER SPEEDOMETER BROKEN ONLY HAS 29,540 MILES. ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STOP WORKING ONLY 3 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP, BROUGHT BRAND NEW. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE PART TO PURCHASE AND VERY UNFAIR, ....*TR
DEC 2008 GAS GAUGE WENT OUT WILL NO LONGER READ ADVISED CHEVROLET. I WAS ADVISED IT WOULD BE $800.00 TO FIX AND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. NEXT MY SPEEDOMETER JUST WENT OUT 12/2011 147000 MILES AND I FIND THIS TO BE ANOTHER COMMON PROBLEM WITH CHEVROLET. *TR
SPEEDOMETER FAILS TO FUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY. MAY READ 0 MPH WHILE DRIVING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS, OR 100+ MPH WHILE AT A DEAD STOP. MAY READ NORMALLY AT OTHER TIMES. *TR
WHEN DRIVING SOMETIMES LIGHTS WILL BECOME DIM. WHEN ADJUSTING SEAT TO DRIVERS SIDE MIRROR ALSO TURNS UPWARD. IF OPENING RIGHT SIDE PASSENGER DOOR IN BACK WITH RADIO ON, RADIO GETS TERRIBLE BUZZING NOISE. I HAVE TO SHUT VEHICLE OFF AND TURN BACK ON AGAIN. ALSO MY CD PLAYERS HAS QUIT WORKING FOR NO REASON AT ALL AND GETS VERY HOT AND ALSO SOMETIMES WHEN YOU START VEHICLE THE MILEAGE GAUGE WILL NOT WORK. HAVE TO SHUT VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART SOMETIMES. MY SPEEDOMETER HAS QUIT WORKING. IT WILL REGISTER 30MPH AND I'M PROBABLY GOING 70 WHEN I'M KEEPING UP WITH THE TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY. MOST OF THE TIME IT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. THIS JUST STARTED ON THE 25TH OF DECEMBER. WE HAVE NOTICED ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO SEVERAL GM VEHICLES. SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING. THE DEALER SAID THAT THIS HAPPENS A LOT TO THE TRAILBLAZER BUT CHEVY HAS NOT RECALLED IT. I HAVE ALSO SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON VARIOUS WEBSITES CONCERNING THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
SPEEDOMETER SHOWS WRONG SPEED WHILE DRIVING. IT CORRECTS ITSELF AFTER 2-3 DAYS. USUALLY OCCURS WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR
MY SPEEDOMETER IS NOT READING TO CORRECT SPEED ON THE CHEVY TRAILBLAZER FROM 2005. IT IS UP AND DOWN AND WHEN PARKED COULD BE AT ZERO OR 15 MPH...IT IS ALWAYS CHANGING. THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS IF YOU ARE ON THE HIGHWAY OR TRYING WATCH YOUR SPEED IN A NEIGHBORHOOD. I HAVE SEEN LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. IT SHOULD BE FIXED BY GM SINCE IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM. I AM TAKING THIS BACK TO THE DEALER TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO, BUT I PROBABLY CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX IT ANY TIME SOON. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE SPEEDOMETER INTERMITTENTLY MALFUNCTIONS. ON ONE INSTANCE, HE WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH BUT THE SPEEDOMETER DISPLAYED 90 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FUEL GAUGE WAS REPLACED TWO YEARS AGO. HE NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE WARNING WOULD ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL. HE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED TO-DATE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 61,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 51,000.
1. FUEL GAUGE FAILED IN OCTOBER 2006, PAID FOR REPAIR AND IT FAILED AGAIN IN NOVEMBER, 2007. 2. SPEEDOMETER JERKS AND ON OCCASION LOCKS UP OR DOES NOT RESET TO ZERO AT STOPPING. CLUSTER NEEDS REPLACEMENT. THIS HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME ON DECEMBER 16, 2008 AND HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE. *TR
2005 CHEVY TRAIL BLAZER. I'VE HEARD SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON THIS SPEEDOMETER SUBJECT, AND FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND IT CAN BE A VERY EXPENSIVE PROCEDURE, HOPEFULLY MY COMPLAINT CAN PUSH FOR A RECALL. *TR
MY DAUGHTER HAD AN ACCIDENT ON 12/16/2008. SHE HAS(HAD) A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LS, 2 WHEEL DRIVE SUV. WHILE DRIVING ON THE OHIO TURNPIKE DURING A SNOW STORM SHE LOST CONTROL AND HAD A HEAD ON CRASH WITH A CEMENT RETAINING WALL WHILE TRAVELING BETWEEN 25 TO 35 MILES PER HOUR. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY DURING THE ACCIDENT AND SHE SLAMMED HARD INTO THE STEERING WHEEL RESULTING IN A CONCUSSION, CHEST INJURIES, SORE WRIST, DIZZINESS, AND STILL HAS RINGING IN ONE EAR. SHE DID HAVE HER SAFETY BELT ON AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT AND ALWAYS WEARS IT. WE ARE BAFFLED AS TO WHY THE AIR BAG DID NOT COME OUT AS IT WOULD HAVE SAVE HER MUCH PAIN. THE CAR IS A TOTAL WRECK AS DESCRIBED BY THE PONTIAC DEALER THAT HER INSURANCE COMPANY TOWED THE SUV TO FOR REPAIRS. THE TRAILBLAZER SUSTAINED MUCH DAMAGE SUCH AS A BENT FRAME, BROKEN TRANSMISSION, ALL OF THE MOTOR MOUNTS AND THE TRANSMISSION MOUNTS BROKE LOOSE FROM THE FRAME, BENT STEERING WHEEL, AND ALL PARTS FROM THE ENGINE FORWARD ARE EITHER GONE OR BENT BEYOND REPAIR. WITH THIS VIOLENT OF A CRASH NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO TELL US WHY THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. WE BOUGHT THIS SUV USED FROM A CHEVY DEALER IN JULY OF 2005 AND IT HAD AROUND 8000 MILES ON IT AT THAT TIME. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS SOME WAY OF CHECKING THE FUNCTIONALLY OF THIS AIR BAG TO SEE IF THERE MAY BE A POSSIBLE PROBLEM WITH IT. HER CRASH WAS HEAD ON AND IN MY OPINION VIOLENT ENOUGH TO ACTIVATE THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG. ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT WE SHOULD DO? *TR

IT ALSO REVS BY ITSELF, EVEN IN PARK AND WILL GO FORWARD SLIGHTLY WHEN IT DOES SURGE. THESE PROBLEMS ONLY STARTED AFTER THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED. I THINK IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD TO HAVE LIGHTS FLICKERING AND ENGINE SURGES. *TR
HEADLIGHTS, DASHLIGHT DIM, BATTERY GAUGE JUMP. THE HEADLIGHTS, DASHLIGHTS AND ALL POWER DIMS OR CUTS OUT WHEN LETTING OFF THE GAS. WHEN IN THE GAS IT WORKS FIN. WHEN I LET OFF EVERYTHING STARTS DIMMING AND CUTTING OUT. AT NIGHT TIME PEOPLE IN FRONT OF ME THINK I'M WANTING THEM TO PULL OVER BECAUSE THE LIGHT FLASH LIKE A POLICE CARS WOULD. I SEE MANY OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS IN MSG BOARDS AND THE DEALERSHIPS KNOW OF THE PROBLEM BUT HAVE NO FIX. THEY TELL YOU TO DEAL WITH IT. I THINK ITS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE AND NEED TO BE ADDRESSES. *TR
HEAD LIGHTS DIM AND BRIGHTEN WHILE DRIVING. WITH NO REASON THE LIGHTS GET VERY DIM AND A SECOND LATER THE LIGHTS BRIGHTEN AND THIS CYCLES OVER AND OVER. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. OTHER DRIVERS THINK I WANT THEN TO STOP OR SLOW DOWN OR PULL OVER. *TR
SPEEDOMETER WOULD BE READING A SPEED WHEN I WAS SITTING STILL AND WOULD JUST KEEP INCREASING UNTIL NOW IT SITS WAY PAST 120MPH AND MOVE AT ALL. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, MY SPEEDOMETER SUDDENLY WENT TO 90 MPH. I STOPPED AND TURNED THE IGNITION OFF. AFTERWARDS, THE SPEEDOMETER HAS STEADILY INCREASED TO THE POINT WHERE IT BEGINS AT 100 MPH. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW FAST I AM REALLY GOING! I HAVE NOT REPLACED ANY PARTS AS THIS HAPPENED LAST NIGHT. MOREOVER, I UNDERSTAND THE COST OF REPAIR TO BE RATHER EXCESSIVE AT ~$500. *TR

WHENEVER HE FILLS UP THE GAS TANK, THE FUEL GAUGE DIAL DOES NOT MOVE FROM EMPTY TO FULL. THE DIAL REMAINS ON EMPTY AND THE FUEL LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER CONSUMERS WHO EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. I OWN A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND THE SPEEDOMETER IS 10 TO 50 MPH FASTER THAN I AM ACTUALLY TRAVELING AND SOME TIMES IS SLOWER THAN ACTUAL SPEED TRAVELING. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE THANKSGIVING 2008 ON LONG TRIPS. IN THE BEGINNING IT WOULD CORRECT ITSELF AND WORK PROPERLY TILL IT WAS ON A TRIP AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS THEN GO CRAZY. NOW THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK FROM TIME TO TIME AND SPEEDOMETER NEVER GOES BACK TO ZERO IT STOPS AROUND 40 TO 60 MPH SITTING STILL. *TR

CHEVROLET SAID THEY DON'T SEE A PROBLEM HOWEVER IF YOU GET ON LINE YOU ARE ABLE TO CHECK MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE TRAILBLAZER OF THE SAME SITUATION. WHY DOES THE CONSUMER HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR A PRODUCT WITH MANY FAILURES THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THAT THE SPEEDOMETER GAUGE HAS STARTED STICKING AND WILL NOT RETURN TO ZERO. AFTER SEARCHING ON THE INTERNET I FOUND OUT THIS IS A VERY WELL KNOWN PROBLEM. THE STEPPER MOTORS ARE GOING BAD. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND THE DEALERS KNOW THIS IS A FACTORY FLAW THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX THEM UNDER A RECALL. I WOULD LIKE TO FORMALLY FILE A COMPLAINT TO HAVE THIS ADDED FOR A RECALL. *TR
NEARLY EIGHT MONTHS AFTER THE PURCHASE OF THE CHEVY TRAILBLAZER (APRIL 2008) AND WHILE TRAVELING FROM TENNESSEE TO NEW YORK THE INSTRUMENT PANEL THAT CONTROLS THE RPM, ODOMETER, SPEED, FUEL GAUGE, OIL LEVEL, TEMPERATURE, ETC. COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. WHILE TRAVELING IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK ON I-90 E THE DRIVER HAD NO INDICATION OF THE VEHICLE SPEED. WHEN SHIFTING FROM THE LEFT PASSING LANE TO THE NEAREST MIDDLE LANE A NY STATE TROOPER CLOCKED THE VEHICLE SPEED AT APPROXIMATELY 90+ MILES PER HOUR. THE DRIVER WAS SIGHTED WITH A SPEEDING TICKET DURING THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY WEEKEND. THE VEHICLE OWNER HAD THE INSTRUMENT PANEL REPLACED AT A COST OF MORE THAN $500. HOWEVER, SOON AFTER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS REPLACED THE GAS SENSOR STOPPED WORKING. THE OWNER COMPLAINED TO THE CHEVY SERVICE DEPARTMENT BUT WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS A SEPARATE ISSUE AND NOT CAUSED BY THE REPLACEMENT OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE OWNER CHECKED FOR RECALLS ON THE INTERNET BUT FOUND MORE COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME AND NO RECALL INFORMATION. SINCE THE GAS SENSOR/GAUGE/FUEL LEVEL INDICATOR DOES NOT WORK THE VEHICLE OWNERS HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS AT LEAST 3 SEPARATE TIMES. ONCE ON A FRIDAY NIGHT AT 10:00 P.M. ON A DARK WINDING ROAD. ANOTHER TIME ON A VERY BUSY 4-LANE THOROUGH FARE THE VEHICLE OWNERS WITH A PASSENGER RAN OUT OF GAS AT A STOP LIGHT. MOST RECENTLY WAS APPROXIMATELY 3-WEEKS AGO. THE VEHICLE OWNERS HAVE PURCHASED AT LEAST 3 NEW GAS CANS SINCE WE CANNOT TELL WITH THE VEHICLE IS FULL OF GAS OR NOT. WHEN THE GAS TANK IS FILLED UP THERE'S NO WAY OF KNOWING AND THE OWNERS CANNOT TELL WHEN THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING LOW ON FUEL SINCE THE "LOW GAS" FUEL LIGHT STAYS ON MOST OF THE TIME OR THE GAS GAUGE RARELY MOVES PASSED "E". THE OWNERS WERE QUOTED THAT THE COST TO REPAIR WOULD BE UPWARDS OF $500+. *JB
THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION IS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER WITH UNDER 40,000 MILES AND VERY WELL-MAINTAINED. THIS IS A CONTINUING CONCERN AND HAVE HAD THE DEALER MECHANICS LOOK AT THIS PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE LIGHTS WILL DIM DRAMATICALLY WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS RELEASED. THE HEADLIGHTS AND INTERIOR LIGHTS DIM AND RETURN AFTER ACCELERATING FOR ANY LENGTH OR MAGNITUDE AND THEN RETURN TO NORMAL BRIGHTNESS. TYPICALLY, THEY WILL DIM 3 TIMES. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT HOW SEVERE THIS COULD BECOME. THE DEALERSHIP SAID GM ACKNOWLEDGES THIS HAPPENING BUT SAYS IT IS NORMAL AND NO REPAIR IS AVAILABLE. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME BUT DOES HAPPEN 2-3 TIMES A WEEK AND INCONSISTENTLY. I CANNOT IDENTIFY WHAT CAUSES IT OR WHAT CONDITIONS CONSISTENTLY EXIST. THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER WENT HAYWIRE LAST WEEKEND. ON TUESDAY WITH MY WIFE DRIVING OUR 3 MONTH OLD INFANT TO DAYCARE, AND HERSELF TO SCHOOL, THE GAUGE ON THE SPEEDOMETER QUIT COMPLETELY AND CURRENTLY IS POINTING STRAIGHT DOWN AND WILL NOT MOVE REGARDLESS OF THE SPEED THAT I AM TRAVELING. *TR

UNFORTUNATELY WHEN IT DOES WORK, IT DOES NOT TELL YOU THE CORRECT SPEED THAT YOU ARE TRAVELING AT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED TO GENERAL MOTORS. SHORTLY AFTER MY 2005 CHEVY TRAIL BLAZER WAS OUT OF WARRANTY THE GAS GAUGE FAILED AND LEFT ME STRANDED. WHEN I FILL THE TANK IT REGISTERS EMPTY. ALSO LEFT MY WIFE AND CHILD STRANDED ONE OTHER TIME. THE GAS GAUGE REGISTERS EMPTY ALL THE TIME NOW. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ON THE INTERNET I FOUND THAT THERE ARE 100'S OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH EITHER THERE ENVOY OR THERE TRAILBLAZER. ALSO HAVE HAD A SMELL OF GASOLINE FROM TIME TO TIME. *TR
BLOWER MOTORS NOT WORKING, REPLACING THE PART, AND FINDING THE WIRING IS MELTED AND SHORTING OUT ON THE HEATER CONTROL MODULE RIGHT SIDE OR REFERRED TO AS THE RESISTOR. THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL ON THIS PART, BUT WE HAVE FOUND SEVERAL VEHICLES WITH THIS PART HAVE THE SAME ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS WHICH ARE CAUSING OTHER MALFUNCTIONS IN THE VEHICLE. TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM THEY NEED TO UPDATE THE HEATER CONTROL MODULE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OR REFERRED TO AS THE RESISTOR. THIS IS THE PROBLEM. *TR

I HAVE A 2005 TRAILBLAZER AND THE SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY SOMETIMES IS STAYS ON ZERO AND THEN THERE ARE TIMES IT READS 120MILES WHEN IM GUESSING I'M GOING AROUND 30 MILES AND THERE ARE TIMES WHEN IN PARK IT READS ANY WHERE FROM 40 TO 60 MPH. HAS OF NOW I DO NOT HAVE THE MEANS TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND NOT THAT I FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET SEEING HOW I BELIEVE THIS IS A GM PROBLEM AND NOT MINE ARE THE OTHER HUNDREDS OF GM OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER 360. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A RANDOM FAILURE IN WHICH THE VEHICLE INCREASED SPEED WITHOUT WARNING UPON RELEASING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE CONTACT CONSTANTLY HAD TO ENSURE THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS RELEASED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WOULD INDEPENDENTLY SURGE FORWARD NUMEROUS TIMES WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MORE THAN TWICE AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO REMEDY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
ON APPROXIMATELY NOVEMBER 11, 2008, WHILE DRIVING HOME, I NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WITH 45000 MILES WAS READING A SPEED THAT WAS LESS THAN MY SENSES INDICATED. AFTER STOPPING, I NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH UNDER ZERO, OR THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS READING 10 MPH LESS THAN ACTUAL. OVERNIGHT, THE SPEEDOMETER RESET BACK TO ZERO. THE SAME ACTION OCCURRED AGAIN APPROXIMATELY DECEMBER 18, 2008, JANUARY 9, 2009, AND FEBRUARY 5, 2009. AFTER LOOKING AT THE INTERNET, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS DEFECT WAS OCCURRING ON NUMEROUS 2003 THROUGH 2005 GM VEHICLES. I CONTACTED GM AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR 2003 AND 2004 TRUCKS, BUT NOT MY 2005 TRAILBLAZER. THIS DEFECT HAS CAUSED ME TO EXCEED THE SPEED LIMIT WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. *TR
WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT TYPICALLY WHILE "COASTING" BETWEEN 30-50 MPH MY HEADLIGHTS ON MY TRAILBLAZER DIM, THE BATTERY CHARGE GOES DOWN, AND THE BLOWER STOPS WORKING FOR JUST A SECOND. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ON THE INTERNET I HAVE NOTICED THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING A SIMILAR, AND UNRESOLVED PROBLEM WITH THEIR TRAILBLAZERS AS WELL. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE HEADLIGHTS ARE NECESSARY, ALSO SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT BE A CONSISTENCY WITH MANY CONSUMERS. MINE IS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LS. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I AM ENCOUNTERING A PROBLEM THAT SEEMS TO BE OUT THERE A LOT. I HAVE A 2005 TRAILBLAZER AND MY FORWARD GEAR STOPPED WORKING AT 80K MILES. I THINK IS A MUCH TOO NEW CAR TO ENCOUNTER A TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM WHEN I HAVE READ PAGES AND PAGES OF THIS SAME ISSUE.
