SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING. IT STARTED OUT 4 MONTHS AGO. FIRST IT WOULD STICK, THEN FREE ITSELF AND WORK FINE. NOW IT JUST STAYS AT ZERO. I LIVE IN MONTANA, AND WE HAVE MANY DIRT ROADS. I WAS DRIVING ALONG ONE DIRT ROAD LAST MONTH, AND I THOUGHT I WAS DRIVING AT A SAFE SPEED. A TURN CAME IN THE ROAD, AS I APPROACHED THE TURN, MY VEHICLE STARTED TO FISHTAIL, I ALMOST FLIPPED AND ROLLED DOWN THE HILL ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD. I MANAGED TO CORRECT AND CONTINUE ON. *TR
ON TWO SEPARATE DAYS, WITHIN A TWO WEEK PERIOD, MY SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING CORRECTLY. THE FIRST TIME IN WENT TO ZERO MPH AND STAYED THERE. A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER IT WORKED AGAIN. THE SECOND TIME, ON THE HIGHWAY, IT READ INCORRECTLY - SAID I WAS AT 55 BUT WAS ACTUALLY GOING 85 (SPOUSE WAS FOLLOWING BEHIND ME IN ANOTHER CAR). *TR
STARTED THE CAR ONE DAY AND THE GAS GAUGE SHOWED EMPTY, HAVE BEEN KEEPING TRACK OF THE MILEAGE EVER SINCE. STILL WAITING FOR GM TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM (RECALL). YOU WOULD THINK A CAR WHICH IS ONLY A FEW YEARS OLD AND LOW MILEAGE SHOULDN'T BE HAVING EXPENSIVE PROBLEMS, WHICH IS LEFT UP TO THE OWNER TO PAY. *TR

THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT ON MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WORKS YET THE OTHER TWO BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT. THE BULBS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE. ALSO, THE HEADLIGHTS FLICKER TO HIGH BEAM AT NIGHT FOR NO REASON. NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW THE ISSUE. *TR
SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING, SOME TIMES IT DOES START WORKING, BUT OUT OF ACTION MOST OF THE TIME. *TR
I HAVE AN 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THAT THE LIGHTS CONSTANTLY ARE FLASHING. THEY DIM AND THEN COME VERY BRIGHT AGAIN NON-STOP. THIS CAN NOT BE SAFE BECAUSE FOR SEVERAL INSTANCES THEY ARE SO DIM THAT YOU CAN'T SEE IN THE DARK. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE IN SEVERAL TIMES WHEN IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND GM SAID IT WAS NORMAL WHEN THE FAN KICKS ON. WELL IT IS NOT NORMAL OR IS IT SAFE. I CAN NOT MANUALLY FLICK THE LIGHTS AS FAST AS THEY FLICKER WHEN I AM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IT IS VERY UNSAFE AND GM NEEDS TO FIND A FIX FOR IT. *TR
SPEEDOMETER WORKED FINE THEN STARTED GOING IN AND OUT, NOW COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING, SPOKE WITH SEVERAL OTHER TRAILBLAZER OWNERS SAME PROBLEM, SPOKE WITH A WORKER AT GM STATED SEVERAL VEHICLES HAVE BEEN REPAIRED FOR PROBLEM. *TR
THE GAS GAGE IN MY 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER HAS BEEN REPLACED 2 TIMES AND IT'S OUT AGAIN. I'VE BEEN TOLD BY QUITE A FEW PEOPLE THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH CHEVROLET. *TR
HEADLIGHTS AND DASHLIGHTS FLICKER ERRATICALLY THAT IT ALMOST LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE FLASHING YOUR LIGHTS AT ONCOMING MOTORISTS. HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALER MORE THAT SIX TIMES FOR THIS WITHOUT RESOLVE. THE DEALER SAYS IT IS NORMAL, AND THEY DON'T CARE IF WE GET KILLED. *TR
WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT, MY HEADLIGHT DIM/BRIGHTEN ON THEIR OWN. HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THAT GM WILL DO FOR ME, THIS WAS REPORTED TO THE DEAL THE DAY I BOUGHT THE CAR AND I HAVE SEVERAL WORK ORDERS FOR THE DEALERSHIP TRYING TO FIND THE PROBLEM, BUT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING AND THERE IS NO RECALL FOR IT. SO NOW, WHEN I DRIVE AT NIGHT, PEOPLE THINK I AM FLASHING MY LIGHTS AT THEM. I HAVE EVEN GONE TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY SAY THEY HEAR ALOT OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS AND THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH SOME TYPE OF PROGRAMMING, BUT GM DOES NOT HAVE A FIX. THIS IS BECOMING DANGEROUS. *TR
A FEW MONTHS AGO, I STOPPED TO FILL UP MY GAS TANK. WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR, I NOTICED THE GAS GAUGE WAS READING EMPTY AND THE LIGHT WAS ON. SINCE THEN, THE GAS GAUGE IS ERRATIC AND DOES NOT READ CORRECTLY. RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE ON THE INTERNET, THERE ARE MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
THIS GOES WITH THE OFFICE OF DEFECTS INVESTIGATION NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: DP10001. I HAVE A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE FUEL AREA OF THE VEHICLE IS HAVING TO BE REPAIRED. MY FUEL SENSOR IS NO LONGER WORKING. THIS AREA OF THE VEHICLE IS DEFECTIVE AND, ACCORDING TO MY SEARCH ON THE INTERNET, MANY, MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE (SOME MULTIPLE TIMES) WITH THE 05 TRAILBLAZER. THIS COULD RESULT IN THE VEHICLE RUNNING OUT OF GAS WITHOUT WARNING WHICH COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH GM ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS REGARDING THIS ISSUE AS WELL AS THE OIL GAUGE NOT WORKING. AS STATED, THIS WILL BE THE SECOND ~$500.00 REPAIR ON THE AREA OF THIS VEHICLE. *TR
I STARTED MY CAR UP THIS MORNING WHEN I NOTICED THAT I HAD ONLY 1/4 TANK OF GAS LEFT, SO I DROVE DOWN TO THE GAS STATION AND FILLED UP UNTIL IT CLICKED. I GOT BACK IN AND STARTED THE CAR AND THE NEEDLE WAS MOVING VERY SLOW THEN IT STOPPED AT 1/4 OF A TANK AND I WAS LIKE THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE. AT FIRST I WAS PISSED BECAUSE I JUST SPENT $77 FILLING UP. THEN I WAS SCARED I THOUGHT MAYBE I HAD A HOLE IN MY FUEL TANK SO I PULLED OVER AND SAW THAT THERE WAS NOTHING LEAKING. IMMEDIATELY DRIVING TO THE AUTO SHOP I AM INFORMED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE ISN'T WORKING AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. SINCE WE ARE STATIONED OVERSEAS I WOULD BE PAYING ABOUT 400 TO 500 EUROS WHICH ISN'T HAPPENING ANYTIME SOON. I WAS TOLD TO KEEP TRACK OF MY MILEAGE BY SETTING THE ODOMETER EVERYTIME I FILLED UP. RUNNING OUT OF GAS IS NOT AN OPTION IN GERMANY THERE ARE FINES AND EVEN JAIL TIME BECAUSE ITS CALLED NOT BEING RESPONSIBLE. IT CAN ALSO CAUSE ACCIDENTS AND TRAFFIC JAMS IF MY CAR WAS TO JUST RUN OUT OF GAS ON THE AUTOBAHN. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED BY GM. I GUESS THAT ISN'T AN OPTION UNTIL SOMEONE GETS HURT OR WORSE ACTUALLY DIES. *TR
2005 TRAILBLAZER LT GAS GAUGE READ EMPTY WHEN SHOULD READ FULL , AND WHEN THE TRUCK IS IN DRIVE THE GAS GAUGE GOES UP THEN GOES BACK DOWN. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE ON MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER HAS STOPPED WORKING. THE GAUGE ALWAYS READS EMPTY EVEN AFTER FILLING THE TANK TO THE FILL LEVEL. THIS PROBLEM JUST STARTED HAPPEN OUT OF THE BLUE ONE DAY ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. HAVE BEEN READING ONLINE THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE RUNNING INTO THIS ISSUE WITH 2004-2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS. I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LT, AND I HAVE NOTICED THIS STRANGE SOUND LATELY WHEN I START IT UP AND IT GETS LOUDER AS YOU DRIVE IT. MY FATHER SAID THAT IT IS THE BEARINGS AND THE ALTERNATOR, SO I DECIDED TO LOOK IT UP ON THE INTERNET AND SAW MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE WITH THIS PARTICULAR MODEL. I WAS TOLD TO FILE A COMPLAINT ON A SITE, AND WAS DIRECTED BY MANY OTHERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE. I AM NOT HAPPY, AND I STILL OWE ON THIS VEHICLE AND THE WARRANTY IS CONVENIENTLY UP JUST AS THIS IS HAPPENING. I WANT THIS CORRECT, AND SOMEONE CONTACTED GM AND THEY STATED THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE PUMP AND THE ELECTRICAL, WELL THEN THEY NEED TO RECALL THIS VEHICLE AND FIX IT FOR FREE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE FUEL SENSOR LOCATED INSIDE THE GAS TANK WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THROUGH ONLINE RESEARCH, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT FUEL SENSOR FAILURES FOR THE TRAILBLAZERS WERE VERY COMMON. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED DUE TO THE TREATMENT THE CONTACT RECEIVED AT THE DEALER. HE FEELS THAT THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE FUEL SENSOR SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHARED BY THE DEALER, RATHER THAN BEING DISCOVERED ON THE INTERNET. HE ALSO FEELS THAT THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE BECAUSE THERE COULD BE NO FUEL IN THE TANK UNBEKNOWNST TO THE CONTACT. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,985 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. SOMETIMES WORKS, SOMETIMES NOT. CANNOT ACCURATELY GAUGE WHAT SPEED YOU'RE TRAVELLING. *TR
ONCE MY WARRANTY RAN OUT, THE GAS GAUGE QUIT WORKING AND A COUPLE WEEKS AFTER THAT THE SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING. I HAVE RESEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND MANY PEOPLE WHO ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL CAR. *TR THE REPAIRS ARE VERY COSTLY. THE REPAIR SHOULD BE FIXED THROUGH A VEHICLE RECALL SINCE SO MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME VEHICLE ARE HAVING THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM.
GAS GAUGE DOESN'T READ CORRECTLY. WHEN I FILL UP THE GAS GAUGE IT WILL STAY ON EMPTY AND THE LIGHT WILL STAY ON. AFTER DRIVING FOR A DAY OR SO THE GAS GAUGE WILL FLUCTUATE FROM EMPTY TO FULL NUMEROUS TIMES. I KEEP TRACK OF MY MILES TO KNOW WHEN TO FILL UP AND NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE. I ONLY READ 20 COMPLAINTS AND OF COURSE THERE ARE MANY MORE TO READ. PLEASE HAVE THIS PROBLEM KNOWN AND FIXED SINCE IT ISN'T UNDER RECALL. *TR
AFTER I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 20-30 MINUTES MY SPEEDOMETER STOPS FUNCTIONING. IN CITY DRIVING SITUATIONS, THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE DROPS TO ZERO AND STAYS THERE FOR THE ENTIRE TRIP. IN HIGHWAY DRIVING SITUATIONS WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL IS IN USE, THE SPEEDOMETER "STICKS." WHEN I TOUCH THE BREAKS OR THE GAS TO SPEED UP/SLOW DOWN THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE STAYS AT WHATEVER SPEED I WAS PREVIOUSLY DRIVING AND STAYS THERE FOR THE REST OF THE TRIP. ONCE THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED AND TURNED OFF FOR APPROXIMATELY AN HOUR, THE SPEEDOMETER CAN BE RESET BY STARTING THE CAR AND TURNING IT OFF UNTIL THE NEEDLE RETURNS TO ZERO. THIS PROBLEM STARTED WHEN MY TRAILBLAZER HAD APPROXIMATELY 55,000 MILES AND HAS PERSISTED SINCE. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THIS PROBLEM ISN'T COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY AND I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE $450-550 COST TO REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THEY ALSO SAID THAT THIS IS A PREVALENT PROBLEM WITH 2005 TRAILBLAZERS BUT IT WON'T BE COVERED UNDER A SILENT WARRANTY UNLESS MORE COMPLAINTS ARE FILED. THIS IS A SERIOUS AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS, AND I BELIEVE CHEVY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THEIR VEHICLES ARE SAFE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS TO DRIVE. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE WILL SAY EMPTY WHEN THE TANK IS ACTUALLY FULL. ALSO THE GAUGE IS NOT ACCURATE, NEVER GOES ABOUT 1/2. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THE FUEL GAUGE BECAME INOPERATIVE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NEED A FUEL LEVEL SENSOR. THE MANUFACTURER ASSISTED THE CONTACT WITH REPAIRING THE DEFECT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 73,838.
I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL SENSOR LAST NIGHT. I STARTED MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND THE GAUGE SAID HALF TANK, LEFT WORK A FEW HOURS LATER, THE FUEL LIGHT WAS ON AND AFTER DRIVING A FEW MILES, IT WENT UP TO A QUARTER TANK. JUST FILLED IT UP TONIGHT AND ITS ON E AND THE GAS LIGHT IS STUCK ON. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS STUCK. THE FAILURE OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY. HE CURRENTLY HAS AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,158.
2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE SPEEDOMETER READING INACCURATELY. THE READINGS ARE ERRATIC. *TR
WHEN I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE 2 MONTHS AGO, I THOUGHT THE GAS GAUGE WAS EMPTY UPON PURCHASE, AS IT WAS A USED CAR, BUT NO IT IS THE FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM THAT EVERYBODY KEEPS MENTIONING. I FILL THE VEHICLE, AND IT ONLY SHOWS A HALF TANK. THEN IT WILL GO TO EMPTY WITH THE WARNING LIGHT COMING ON. AS SOMEONE WHO TRAVELS A LOT, AND FOR LONG DISTANCES, THIS IS A HORRIBLE DEFECT. THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD HAS BECOME LOUD, WHICH MEANS ANOTHER EXPENSE ON A 2005 WHICH SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH FAILED IN HIS VEHICLE AND WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER. THE RESISTANCE PIG TAIL (WIRING HARNESS), THE FUEL PUMP MODULE, AND THE CLUTCH ALSO FAILED; HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT MUST PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE AND IT CANNOT BE REPAIRED FOR FREE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000. 4/01/09 *NJ THE WATER PUMP, PULLEY AND SERPENTINE BELT WAS REPLACED. ON TODAY I WENT TO FILL UP MY TANK DUE TO HURRICANE IKE. BEFORE I WENT TO THE GAS STATION ALL GAUGES WERE FINE BUT WHEN I RETURNED TO WORK I NOTICED THAT THE GAS GAUGE WAS ONE WITH THE LIGHT LIT. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT STAYED THE SAME. THIS SHOULD BE FIXED AND COVERED SOME TYPE OF RECALL. *TR
I OWN A 2005 TRAILBLAZER AND HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH IT. CURRENTLY THE ISSUE I AM DEALING WITH IS THE SPEEDOMETER. SEVERAL WEEKS AGO, MY SPEEDOMETER WHILE DRIVING AT APPROX 30 MPH WENT ALL THE WAY AROUND PAST 120 MPH AND STUCK. FOLLOWING THAT, EVERY TIME I STARTED MY CAR, IT WOULD DECREASE 10 MPH UNTIL IT WENT BACK TO 0 MPH. IT WORKED FINE FOR A WHILE AND NOW I AM HAVING A PROBLEM AGAIN WITH THE NEEDLE SPUN ALL THE WAY AROUND AND DOES NOT MOVE WHEN I AM DRIVING. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR MODEL AND FEEL THAT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN YOU REALLY HAVE NO IDEA HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING, IT IS A GUESSING GAME. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER, MY WIFE SMELLED SMOKE. SHE PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND OPENED THE DOOR - AND THE DRIVER'S SEAT PROCEEDED TO BILLOW SMOKE. THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS RESPONDED - THE SEAT WAS RIPPED OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE AND SEAT WERE EXTINGUISHED WITH FOAM - THE VEHICLE HAD A POWERED DRIVER'S SEAT BUT NOT HEATED SEATS. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN AN AUTO BODY SHOP. *TR
2005 TB EXT, SUMMER OF LAST YEAR THE COMPUTER HAD TO BE REPLACED, ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO THE SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON, THE GAS GAUGE WONT WORK, THE HEATER WONT WORK ON 5 AND THERE IS NO HEAT IN THE FRONT VENTS,THE OIL LIGHT DOES NOT WORK,, I HAVE HAD IT ALIGNED BUT THE BACK TIRES KEEP GOING BALD,,IT LOOSES POWER SO BAD,,,,I WENT OUT THIS MORNING AND THE HEADLIGHTS WONT GO OFF AND NOW MY BATTERY IS DEAD...WHAT ELSE IS LEFT TO GO WRONG??? I HAVE 5 SMALL KIDS AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE IS DEFECTIVE AND NO ONE WANTS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX IT.. THE SPEEDOMETER WENT OUT ON MY TRAILBLAZER. IT STARTED WHERE IT WAS 10 MILES AN HOUR FASTER THAN MY ACTUAL SPEED. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND LEFT IT FOR A FEW HOURS. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON AND DROVE IT HAD FIXED ITS SELF. A COUPLE OF WEEKS PAST AND IT STARTED TO GO UP AND DOWN. NO CONSISTENCY OF SPEEDS. NOW IT WONT WORK AT ALL. IT WILL EVEN MAKE COMPLETE TURNS AND STOP WHERE THERE IS NO NUMBERS. SPEEDOMETER NO LONGER WORKS AT ALL. *TR
THE SIDE CONTROL PANEL FOR THE DRIVER'S SEAT HAS COME LOOSE AND HAS BE COME A CONCERN THAT IT MAY FALL OFF COMPLETELY AND ONTO MY LEGS AS I'M DRIVING. I WEIGHT ABOUT 145 AND DON'T BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE HAPPENING TO A VEHICLE THAT IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD. *TR

I PURCHASED MY SUV IN AUGUST OF 2008 ABOUT A MONTH LATER AFTER PUMPING GAS I NOTICED THE FUEL GAUGE SPINNING UNCONTROLLABLY. DUE TO THE WARRANTY I PURCHASE CARMAX FIXED THE PROBLEM AT THAT TIME NOT IT IS 5 YEARS LATER AND EXACT SAME THINGS HAS HAPPENED AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER GAUGES SPINNING. SHORTLY, AFTER THE FUEL GAUGE WENT OUT I NOTICE THE SPEEDOMETER AND THE ACCELERATOR GAUGES DOING THE SAME THING. TURNED VEHICLE ON AND FOUND A/C BLOWER NOT WORKING AND ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT COME ON. BLOWER WILL COME ON INTERMITTENTLY WHEN THE BAS / BRAKE LIGHT GOES OUT. I AM CONCERNED THAT IF THERE IS A SHORT IN THE SYSTEM THERE COULD BE A FIRE. CHEVROLET SHOULD BE TAKING CARE OF THIS CONCERN FOR THE OWNERS. *TR
SPEEDOMETER ON MY TRAILBLAZER SHOWED A WILDLY INACCURATE SPEED READING. THIS READING WAS VERY LOW AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A SPEEDING/ SAFETY SITUATION. THE SPEEDOMETER COULD GIVE A FALSE READING ALLOWING THE DRIVER TO ENTER A CURVE OR CITY AT AN UNSAFE SPEED. AT A STOPLIGHT THE NEEDLE POINTED STRAIGHT DOWN INSTEAD OF ZERO. I CONTACTED GM WHO INFORMED ME THAT THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH COMPLAINTS ON THIS SPECIFIC MODEL TO WARRANT A RECALL. AS I UNDERSTAND IT THE COMPONENTS CAUSING THE FAILURE IN THE MODELS BEING RECALLED ARE THE SAME AS THOSE IN TRAILBLAZERS. MY VEHICLE ALSO HAS THE DIMMING/FLICKERING LIGHTS AT NIGHT. GM HAS A TECHNICAL BULLETIN OUT THAT SAYS THIS IS NORMAL. THERE HAS TO BE A REASON FOR THESE ISSUES. I DON'T CALL LOSING LIGHTS AT NIGHT NORMAL. NOR DO I HAVE CONFIDENCE THAT THE LIGHTS WILL NOT FAIL COMPLETELY. *TR
THE REAR LIFTGATE WINDOW OF MY 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT SHATTERED FOR NO APPARENT REASON AT ALL. MY WIFE WAS CLOSING THE LIFTGATE (THE GLASS WAS NOT OPEN), PULLED THE LIFTGATE DOWN A FEW INCHES, AND THE ENTIRE REAR LIFTGATE WINDOW EXPLODED SENDING GLASS ALL OVER MY WIFE AND OUR 4 YEAR OLD SON, NOT TO MENTION MY DRIVEWAY, SIDEWALK, ETC. ACCORDING TO DIFFERENT SITES THAT I HAVE VISITED ON THE INTERNET, THIS IS QUITE A COMMON OCCURRENCE. MIGHT I ADD THAT THIS VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN OR MOVED FROM ITS' PARKING SPOT SINCE SUNDAY 8/24/2008 AND WAS NOT DRIVEN TODAY. WE OPENED THE REAR LIFTGATE TO PUT AN ITEM INTO THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE, WENT TO SHUT THE LIFTGATE, AND THE ABOVE OCCURRED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CONTACT STRUCK THE GUARDRAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT HAS PICTURES OF THE VEHICLE. SHE WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL AND IS CURRENTLY IN PAIN. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE AIR BAGS WERE NOT SERVICED PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
MY 2005 TRAILBLAZER WITH ONLY 28,000 MILES STARTED WHINING LOUDLY, THE LIGHTS FLICKER & THE HEATER TURNS ITSELF ON. A REPAIR SHOP SAID IT MAY NEED A NEW ALTERNATOR. OF COURSE, CHEVY ONLY PUT A 3 YEAR WARRANTY ON IT & THIS ALL STARTED HAPPENING 1 MONTH AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. THE GAUGE WOULD SHOW THAT THE FUEL LEVEL WAS EMPTY AND CAUSED THE INDICATOR TO ILLUMINATE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY A FAULTY FUEL SENSOR, WHICH WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $700 TO REPAIR. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. MOST RECENTLY, THE SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTIONED AND WOULD BECOME STUCK ON 40 OR 90 MPH. OCCASIONALLY, THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO USE THE RPMS TO MEASURE HER SPEED. SHE HAD NOT TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER OR NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 79,000.

THE EVENTS LEADING UP TO FAILURE I HAD JUST PUT GAS IN MY CAR AND MY GAS GAUGE WOULD GO DOWN GAS LIGHT WOULD COME ON THEN IT WOULD GO BACK INDICATING I HAD GAS. THEN I WOULD NOTICE THAT MY LIGHT WAS ON KNOWING I HAD GAS SO THE GAS GAUGE KEPT GOING BACK AND FORTH. I WOULD PUT GAS IN MY CAR BUT NOT BEING ABLE TO KEEP UP WITH MY GAS BECAUSE MY GAS GAUGE WAS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY I RAN OUT OF GAS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET, WHICH IS VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THIS STARTED ABOUT 2 AND A HALF YRS AGO AND I WENT TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM AND THE MECHANIC TOLD ME I HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE UNIT AND IT WOULD COST ABOUT $550.00 TO FIX I DIDN'T HAVE THAT CONSIDERING IM STILL PAYING ON THE CAR I TRIED TO MONITOR MY GAS BUT I KEEP RUNNING OUT. I WOULD FILL MY CAR UP AND I WOULD PUT GAS IN MY CAR EVERY DAY OR TWO TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE, AND THAT DOES NOT WORK EITHER. THE LAST EPISODE I HAD WAS I PUT GAS IN MY CAR ON SUNDAY WHICH WOULD AT LEAST TAKE ME TO MONDAY BUT I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY CAR JUST CUT OFF AND I HAD TO COAST TO SAFETY. THIS IS A PROBLEM I RUN OUT OF GAS TOO OFTEN I WENT ONLINE TO SEE ABOUT PARTS FOR THE GAS GAUGE TO BE FIXED ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH SO MANY OTHER CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS AND OTHER GM CARS. I NOTICED THIS HAD BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS AND GM HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS IS A DEFECT AND THEY SHOULD HAVE RECALLED THE TRAILBLAZER. THIS IS 1 OF THE MAJOR PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD WITH THIS CAR AND I'VE HAD SO MANY OTHER PROBLEMS THAT I'VE NOTICED OTHER PEOPLE WERE HAVING ALSO WHEN I LOOKED ONLINE. ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO, MY 05 TRAILBLAZER BEGAN HAVING "NO START" PROBLEMS. SOMETIMES IT WOULD START AND SOMETIMES NOT. DURING TIMES IT WOULD NOT START, I COULD NOT SHIFT IT OUT OF PARK. IF I TURN THE KEY OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN IT WOULD START. BUT I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON, AND OF COURSE, THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. SO I CONTINUED DRIVING IT WITH THIS OFF AND ON PROBLEM FOR 2 WEEKS UNTIL ONE DAY I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WITH MY SON, MOTHER AND FATHER IN THE VEHICLE. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE MOTOR JUST KILLED! LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AS I WAS PULLING OVER THOUGH IT WAS DIFFICULT BECAUSE THE POWER BRAKES AND POWER STEERING WERE LOST. MY SON WAS VERY UPSET AND NERVOUS. THIS TIME AT THE DEALERSHIP THEY CONFIRMED IT WAS THE IGNITION SWITCH. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME REPLACING IT SINCE BUYING THE VEHICLE NEW. EVEN THE TECHNICIAN ADMITTED THAT TRAILBLAZERS HAVE ALOT OF TROUBLE WITH IGNITION SWITCHES BUT SAID THERE IS NO RECALL BECAUSE IT'S NOT A "SAFETY ISSUE". SO MY ENGINE DYING WHILE I'M TRAVELING 70MPH ON THE INTERSTATE WITH FAMILY IN THE VEHICLE POSES NO SAFETY ISSUE? I FEEL THAT CHEVROLET SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL AND REIMBURSE ME FOR MY COSTS AS MY WARRANTY IS EXPIRED. BY THE WAY, OTHER PROBLEMS I'VE HAD WITH THIS VEHICLE INCLUDE THE IDLER PULLEY, BRAKE LIGHTS GOING BAD AND MELTING INTO THE TERMINAL, SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTION, CD PLAYER BROKEN, GLUE AROUND LICENSE PLATE FRAME OOZING AND MELTING, BROKEN LATCH ON STORAGE COMPARTMENT IN BETWEEN FRONT SEATS, FAULTY THERMOSTAT CAUSING ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON, AND PROBLEMS WITH THE BACK HATCH DOOR. NEXT VEHICLE I BUY WILL BE A RELIABLE TOYOTA OR NISSAN. CAN'T WAIT TO GET RID OF THIS CHEVY. *TR
