TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, SMOKE EMITTED FROM THE HOOD. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED FLAMES UNDER THE HOOD. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A FAILED GM/AC DELCO TRANSMISSION COOLANT LINE FITTING, WHICH CAUSED TRANSMISSION COOLANT TO LEAK OUT ONTO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND EXHAUST SYSTEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

AFTER APPROXIMATELY TWO MINUTES, THE VEHICLE STARTED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE ABS SENSOR, THE OXYGEN SENSOR, THE BRAKE PADS, THE CLUSTER MODULE AND THE FUEL SENDER LEVER HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 178,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE LOW FUEL GAUGE INDICATOR REMAINS ON EVEN AFTER I FILL MY FUEL TANK. THE INDICATOR NEVER GOES OFF AT ANYTIME.
DAY/DIM LIGHTS KEPT GOING OFF WHILE DRIVING AT DARK. AND NOW THEY WONT COME ON AT ALL. HAVING TO DRIVE WITH BRIGHTS ON. JUST WANDERING WHAT DO I DO. OR HOW MUCH WOULD IT COST TO FIX IT . IM TIRED OF GETTING BRIGHT LIGHTED FROM OTHER CARS THAT I PASS. THERE'S BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM BUT MY VEHICLE IS NOT ON THERE. NOT SURE ON THE DATE BELOW, JUST AND ESTIMATE. *TR
I WENT TO THE GAS STATION AND FILLED UP MY TANK. I STARTED MY CAR AND THE GAUGE WAS NOT AT THE FILL LINE. THE GAUGE JUST BOUNCED UP AND DOWN AND THEN WENT BELOW THE EMPTY MARK MAKING THE CHIME GO OFF AND THE CAR RED "FUEL IS LOW". THIS WAS ON A SECONDARY CITY STREET.

MY DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS LOW BEAMS COME ON AND OFF, I REPLACED THE DRIVER CONTROL MODULE RELAY, THE BULBS, FUSES UNDER THE HOOD, AND THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH. MY LIGHT'S STILL COME ON AND OFF. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW ABOUT THIS MATTER. PLEASE HELP ME. IT HAPPENS ON STATIONARY, IN MOTION ON CITY AND HIGHWAY STREET AT RANDOM. I HAVE NOTHING TO UPLOAD THE WORK HAS BEEN DONE BY ME. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR JUST ABOUT 3 MONTHS NOW, I CAN'T DRIVE AT NIGHT.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE BATTERY WAS CHARGED AND THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO START. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT FOUND. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE DRIVER CRASHED INTO A DITCH. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.
THE SPEEDOMETER HAS BECOME UNRELIABLE; IT STICKS / JERKS WHILE DRIVING AFTER WHICH IT DOES NOT DISPLAY AN ACCURATE SPEED. I'VE HAD MY SPEEDOMETER READ 30MPH WHILE COMPLETELY STOPPED. IT HAS A GREATER TENDENCY TO STICK AROUND 50-60MPH. REPEATEDLY STARTING THE ENGINE, CAUSING THE SPEEDOMETER TO GO THROUGH ITS RESET CYCLE WILL MOVE THE NEEDLE BACK TO 0MPH IN APPROXIMATELY 5MPH INCREMENTS FOR EVERY START. THIS ONLY PROVIDES A BIT OF RELIABILITY FOR SHORT TRIPS.
WHILE DRIVING LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS GO OUT. HIGH BEAMS WILL WORK. SOMETIMES LOW BEAMS WILL COME BACK ON DURING SAME TRIP. REPLACED HDM MODULE PER ISSUES WITH 2006 BUT HEADLIGHTS STILL GO OUT WHILE DRIVING.
FUEL GAUGE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I CHECKED WITH DEALER AND THE NHTSA WEBSITE ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT GM WILL NOT HONOR THE SERVICE BULLETIN. ACCORDING TO GM I WAS MAILED OUT A SERVICE NOTICE ON MY VEHICLE IN 2011 WHICH I NEVER RECEIVED. # 10041526 . I CHECKED WITH THE GMC DEALER ABOUT THIS SERVICE BULLETIN AND THE THEY TOLD ME TO BRING MY VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIRS. WELL THE DEALER CALLED AND TOLD ME THAT MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF THE PARAMETERS FOR A COST FREE REPAIR. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW BACK AND 2005 AND I HAVE KEPT UP WITH THE REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE. THE DEALERSHIP I HAVE THIS SERVICED AT OVER THE YEARS NEVER DID ANY REPAIRS ON THIS SERVICE BULLETIN. I AM A OIF ARMY VETERAN AND I CAN NOT CURRENTLY AFFORD THIS $900 REPAIR. I TOLD CUSTOMER SERVICE AT CHEVY ABOUT THIS AND ALL THEY OFFERED WAS A CHEVY LOYALTY CAR. REALLY YOUR KIDDING ME?
THE SPEEDOMETER DOESNT WORK.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V59000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 223,852.
MY FUEL GAUGE STOPPED WORKING CORRECTLY, WHEN I FILL IT UP IT WILL READ EMPTY. AFTER ABOUT SEVERAL HOURS THE GAUGE WILL START TO GO UP. SPOKE TO CHEV. DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT TIME HAS PASSED FOR THEM TO FIX AT ON CHARGE TO ME. I ONLY HAVE 86968 MILES ON IT THIS SHOULD BE CHANGED TO COVER MORE TIME

HEADLIGHTS GO OUT WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. VERY SCARY
LOW BEAM LIGHTING WAS OUT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED ON AT 2030. IT DID NOT COME ON WHILE DRIVING (20 MINUTES) SO I HAD TO USE THE HIGH BEAMS. I DID CHECK MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING.

I WAS LEAVING A PARKING LOT AT DARK AND MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE WORKING. AFTER EXITING THE PARKING LOT TO THE ROAD, I NOTE THAT THE LOW BEAMS WERE OUT. I THEN HAD TO DRIVE THROUGH TOWN ON THE BUSIEST ROADS WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON. IT WAS APPROXIMATELY 2100 AND THE TEMPERATURE WAS IN THE 70'S.

THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V755000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 152,000.
WHILE DRIVING AFTER DARK, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT. THE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS CONTINUED TO WORK. THIS IS A RECURRING ISSUE AND SEEMS TO OCCUR MORE ONCE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR SOME TIME. THE LIGHTS DID NOT COME BACK ON UNTIL THE CAR WAS LEFT PARKED OVERNIGHT.
WHILE DRIVING SOUTHBOUND ON I-75 IN MICHIGAN AT APPROXIMATELY 9:10 PM ON AUGUST 16, 2015, THE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS WENT OUT NEAR MILE MARKER 180. THE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS AND RUNNING LIGHTS CONTINUED TO WORK. THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS REMAINED OFF UNTIL AFTER I EXITED I-75 AT THE SOUTHBOUND 155 EXIT. AFTER LEAVING THE EXIT AND DRIVING AN ADDITIONAL 4 MILES, I AGAIN TRIED THE LOW BEAMS AND THEY WORKED. I LATER GOT BACK INTO THE VEHICLE (AFTER IT WAS OFF FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES) AND THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS WERE AGAIN OFF. THEY WOULD NOT COME BACK ON AND I LEFT THE VEHICLE. THE FOLLOWING MORNING, THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS WERE FUNCTIONING AGAIN. THIS SITUATION HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE EXECUTIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICE AT GM AND THEY HAVE STATED THAT THERE IS NOT A CURRENT RECALL AND THEREFORE THEY WILL NOT REPAIR IT.
FUEL GUAGE IS NOT ACCURATE. WHEN THE TANK IS FULL THE GUAGE REGISTERS EMPTY.
THE DIM HEADLIGHTS WILL START FLASHING FOR NO APPARANT REASON.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V248000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VISIBILITY). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,000.
ON JULY 29, 2015 I EXITED THE FREEWAY, AND SUDDENLY MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT 4.2L BEGAN TO STALL AND WOULD NOT PROCEED UPON ACCELERATION. AFTER CALLING THE GM CORPORATE OFFICE, I ASKED IF THERE WAS A POSSIBLE WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLES TRANSMISSION, THEY STATED "NO"... HOWEVER, THE REPRESENTATIVE DID TELL ME THAT MY USED 2005 TRAILBLAZER EXT DID HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED IN 2007. THIS IS 2 YEARS AFTER THE VEHICLE HIT THE ROAD SPANKING BRAND NEW. THERE HAS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS TRANSMISSION. I ENDED UP SPENDING A TOTAL OF $1,600.00 FOR A REBUILT TRANSMISSION. I AM NOW LOOKING TO POSSIBLY TRADE MY TRAILBLAZER IN SOON. LOOKING AT THE COMPLAINTS HERE IN THIS FORUM REGARDING THE FAILURE OF THE CHEVY TRAILBLAZER TRANSMISSION IS RIDICULOUS. GM REFUSES TO OWN UP TO THEIR MISTAKE. IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE NHTSA GET STRICT WITH AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURERS. WHAT WILL IT TAKE BEFORE SOMEONE LISTENS TO THE CONSUMER, A DEATH? THAT COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN MY FATE; LUCKILY, IT HAPPENED WHEN EXITING THE FREEWAY.

THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND INSPECTED THE HEAD LIGHTS AND NOTICED THEY WERE MELTED ON THE INSIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DRIVER'S DOOR MASTER POWER WINDOW SWITCH MODULE GOT HOT & STARTED SMOKING. REMOVING AND LOOKING AT IT SHOWED THAT IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. IT LOOKS LIKE IT STARTED SOMEWHERE ON THE CIRCUIT BOARD. IT SEEMS IDENTICAL TO THE PROBLEM LISTED ON THE 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS. (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V599000) IT HAPPENED IN 2015. I'VE JUST BEEN HOLDING ONTO THE PART BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT & THE LOCAL DEALER WASN'T ANY HELP.

WHILE DRIVING, THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW CONTROL STARTED SMOKING, THEN IT QUIT WORKING
WHILE DRIVING HOME ONE NIGHT AROUND 9:30 PM FROM THE LOCAL WAL-MART, I TURNED OUT ONTO A HIGHWAY/PUBLIC STREET AND MY HEAD LIGHTS WENT OUT. THEY WOULD NOT COME BACK ON NO MATTER WHAT I DID. I WENT HOME THINKING MY LIGHTS WERE COMPLETELY OUT BUT WHEN I PULLED INTO MY DRIVE AND HIT THE HIGH BEAMS THEY WORKED JUST FINE. MY LOW BEAMS DID NOT COME BACK ON UNTIL EARLY THE NEXT MORNING. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THEN. *TR
THE AIRBAGS WILL SHOW THAT THEY'RE NOT ENABLED EVEN WITH A PASSENGER SITTING IN THE SEAT.THEN IT WOULD COME ON AS BEING ON BUT NO PASSENGER IN SEAT. A LOT OF SENSORS HAVE POPPED UP IN THE ELECTRICAL PANEL, ON TOP OF THAT THE CAR KINDA SHUT DOWN ON ME AND STARTED GOING 10 MILES PER HOUR, AS I WAS GOING OUT IN TRAFFIC.
MY GAS GAUGE READS EMPTY ALL THE TIME EVEN AFTER A FILL UP. IT NEVER MOVES. ALSO I HAVE REPLACED SHOCKS AND STRUTS ALL THE WAY AROUND THE VEHICAL BUT EVERY TIME YOU HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD IT SHAKES YOU FROM SIDE TO SIDE REALLY HARD.

2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WAS DRIVEN BY MY GRANDDAUGHTER. SHE WAS TRYING TO ENTER ONTO I-10 INTERSTATE AND WAS GOING TOO FAST ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP. ROAD CONDITIONS WERE HAZARDOUS AS IT WAS A SEVERE RAIN STORM. SHE HYDROPLANED AND HIT A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER WHICH CAUSED HER TO SPIN INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. SHE WAS HIT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND THE TRUCK SPUN AROUND SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT STOPPPED. THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY!!! THE POLICE OFFICER AND THE TOW COMPANY DRIVER SAID SHE WAS LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. MY CONCERN IS THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A FATAL ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE TRAILBLAZER WAS TOTALED AS THE AXLE AND THE ENGINE WERE ON THE GROUND. THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT WHEEL CAME OFF. I HAVE ALWAYS LIKE CHEVY VEHICLES BUT AM NOW HESITANT TO PURCHASE ANOTHER ONE B/C OF THIS ISSUE WITH THE AIR BAG.

AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS POWERED OFF, THE POWER LOCK SWITCH WAS ENGAGED AND THE WINDOWS CLOSED BUT FAILED TO OPERATE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V248000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VISIBILITY). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 182,000.

THE FAILURE RECURRED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
THE SPEEDOMETER GETS STUCK ON A SPEED AND THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT BACK DOWN TO 0 IS BY TURNING THE ENGINE ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS. FROM MY RESEARCH ON THIS IT APPEARS THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY MANY PEOPLE BUT NOTHING GETS DONE ABOUT IT. IT SEEMS TO ME LIKE IT SHOULD BE A RECALL TO GET IT FIXED.
FUEL GAGE IS NOT SHOWING THE FUEL LEVEL , SO IT LOOKS LIKE ITS EMPTY ALL THE TIME AUTOMATIC AIR BAG PASSENGER SENSING SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING AND ON WINDSHIELD URETHANE BEAD MAY NOT HAVE ADHERED TO THE BODY IN CERTAIN AREAS DURING THE CURE PROCESS.

I CHECKED FOR RECALLS AND THERE ARE RECALLS FOR 2006-20XX (NHTSA 14V755000 ) JUST WONDERING, AFTER FINDING ON THE INTERNET, NUMEROUS 2005 OWNERS WITH SAME PROBLEM, WHY THIS MODEL WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS? I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT ON THE POTENTIALLY DEADLY PROBLEM OF THE 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THAT SHOULD BE CORRECTED AND INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. THANK YOU *TR
WHILE TRAVELING ABOUT 15MPH THROUGH A BOAT YARD WITH MY HEATER ON HIGH (5) I SMELLED A HOT METALLIC ODOR, BUT THOUGHT IT WAS JUST FROM SOME WELDING BE DONE ON A STEEL BOAT. THEN MY HEATER QUIT. I TURNED IT DOWN TO 3 OR 4 AND IT RAN A LITTLE LONGER AND QUIT COMPLETELY. WHEN I GOT HOME I CHECKED ON A TRAILBLAZER WEBSITE TO FIND INFORMATION AND FOUND THAT THE BLOWER RESISTOR SPEED CONTROL UNIT WAS A COMMON CAUSE OF THIS TYPE FAILURE. UPON REMOVING THIS RESISTOR PACK I FOUND THE PLASTIC PLUG CONNECTION ON IT HAD GOTTEN SO HOT THAT IT MELTED AND FUSED THE PLUG IN THE SOCKET. WHEN I DID FINALLY GET IT APART I FOUND THAT ONE OF THE CONNECTOR PINS HAD BURNED COMPLETELY OFF. INSULATION ON THREE OR FOUR WIRES HAD ALSO BEEN BURNED. LUCKILY THERE HAD BEEN NO MAJOR FIRE. *TR
