I RECENTLY HAD MY 06 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER TOWED TO THE GM GARAGE DUE TO IT HAVING AN ENGINE FAILURE WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING IT. DIAGNOSES IS A BROKEN VALVE SPRING IN CYLINDER #1. REPAIRS COSTS $752. GM IS NOT WILLING TO HELP ME WITH THE REPAIRS DUE TO IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. CAR ONLY HAS 56,000 MILES ON IT AND TO HAVE A VALVE SPRING SNAP IN HALF WHILE UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS IS RIDICULOUS AND A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS SINCE NO ONE FROM GM SEEMS TO CARE. *TR
2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE GAS GAUGE HAS STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW HOW MUCH GAS IS LEFT IN THE GAS TANK. THIS IS A DANGER AS I COULD RUN OUT OF GAS WHILE DRIVING. ALTHOUGH I CAN USE THE ODOMETER TO "GUESS" ABOUT GAS, IT IS NOT A DEFINITE MEASURE OF THE AMOUNT OF GASOLINE I HAVE LEFT. I KNOW THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH OTHER CHEVROLET SUVS AND TRUCKS. I CHECKED ON FIXING THE PROBLEM BUT BECAUSE THE ENTIRE GAS TANK HAS TO BE PULLED FROM THE VEHICLE, IT WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $800 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. BECAUSE THIS APPEARS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH CHEVROLET AND GMC SUVS AND TRUCKS, I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY CHEVROLET AND GMC. *TR
GAS TANK GAUGE HAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY STARTING AROUND 40K MILES. WARNING LIGHT AND NOISE GOES OFF RANDOMLY. HAVE TO MANUALLY CALCULATE MILEAGE NOW. TOO EXPENSIVE TO FIX. NOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND THE VEHICLE RPMS DROP DOWN LOW WHEN I'M AT A STOP SIGN. LUCKILY, IT HASN'T DIED YET BUT I WILL HAVE TO TAKE IN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT. EVER SINCE APRIL OF 2009, THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL EVEN WHEN THE TANK IS FILLED WITH GASOLINE. IN ADDITION, THE FUEL GAUGE NEVER REACHES THE FULL MARK, BUT STAYS BETWEEN THE EMPTY AND QUARTER TANK MARKS. THERE WERE NO PRIOR INCIDENTS LEADING UP TO THIS ISSUE. THE CONTACT FEELS THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
I CURRENTLY OWN A 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. I HAD JUST HIT THE 40,000 MILE MARK AND STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE GAS GAUGE READING EMPTY AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYING ON. I WAS TOLD TO REPLACE THE GAS CAP DUE TO A POSSIBLE VACUUM SEAL NO LONGER WORKING, THAT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I AM NOW TRACKING MY MILEAGE IN ORDER TO KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE BECAUSE AS A WORKING MOTHER OF THREE, I CANNOT NOT AFFORD THE $900 - $1000 TO REPAIR THE ISSUE. THIS IS DEFINITELY A RECALL ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY GM. *TR
2006 TRAILBLAZER EXT, 12/08 EXITING FREEWAY ONTO 50 MPH ROADWAY AND ACCELERATING FROM STOP SIGN AT TOP OF RAMP, WHEN ENGINE LOST POWER AND SLOWED TO A STOP, WITH ENGINE RUNNING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, ALL AT ONCE. ALMOST BROADSIDED ON DRIVERS DOOR BY APPROACHING TRAFFIC.. ONSTAR SAID IN WAS A THROTTLE VALVE BODY ISSUE AND HAD IT TOWED TO DEALER FOR NIGHT DROP OFF. NEXT MORNING NO CODE FOUND, BUT THEY CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY VALVE ASSEMBLY AND LINKAGE. NO CHARGE FOR DIAGNOSTICS OR CLEANING! 4/21/09, 3000 MILES LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON WITH VEHICLE OPERATING NORMALLY. ONSTAR SAYS GET IT TO A DEALER IN ONE DAY, ITS THE THROTTLE VALVE BODY AND LINKAGE. $100 FOR DIAGNOSIS ALREADY SENT TO DEALER BY ONSTAR. DEALER SAYS THE ELECTRONIC RADIATOR FAN CLUTCH IS NOT ENGAGING AND ENGINE RUNS COLD, TECHNICIAN SAID NO, IT RUNS HOT, NEITHER OF WHICH WAS OCCURRING. DEALER SAYS THEY HAVE A HISTORY CODE FOR THROTTLE VALVE AND LINKAGE, SO ITS OBVIOUSLY CARBONED UP AND THOUGH ITS NOT LISTED ANYWHERE IN OWNERS MANUAL FOR SUCH SERVICE, THEY SAY ITS A MAINTAINING ISSUE, DON'T VOID YOUR WARRANTY. IF YOU DON'T LET US DO IT FOR $149, IT'S $52 FOR READING THE HISTORY CODE. THEY REMOVE THE AIR CLEANER DUCT AND THEY TRY TO SELL ME A BILL OF GOODS, I.E. LOOK AT THE CARBON BUILD UP, WHICH IS NOTHING MORE THAN A VERY THIN, THIN COATING OF DARKENED OIL VAPOR RESIDUE WHICH IS PULLED IN FROM THE CRANK CASE VENT HOSE ATTACHED BELOW THE INTAKE HORN, AFTER HE AIR FILTER AND SENSOR. RIP OFF! THE VEHICLE RAN PERFECT BUT FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, NEVER RAN COOL OR OVER HEATED AND WAS GETTING GOOD MILEAGE. I LET THEM REPLACE THE $600 PLUS FAN FOR THE $100 DIAGNOSTIC FEE. TO KEEP FROM VOIDING MY WARRANTY, I HAD TO SPEND THE $149 FOR AN OLD HISTORY CODE, TO PROVE THAT I MAINTAINED THE VEHICLE PER DEALER RECOMMENDATIONS. RIP OFF !!! *TR
AROUND 60,000 MILES, MY 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER GAS GAUGE SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING, ONLY READING AS EMPTY AND TURNING ON THE YELLOW GAS LIGHT. THIS ALSO CAUSED MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO TURN ON. UPON TAKING MY CAR FOR INSPECTION, MY CAR WAS FAILED, BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS DUE TO A BAD FUEL SENSOR IN MY CAR AND THE CHARGE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED IS AROUND $900. UPON DOING RESEARCH ABOUT THIS PART I FOUND THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS EXACT PROBLEM AROUND THE SAME MILEAGE AS WHEN MY PROBLEM BEGAN. DUE TO THIS PROBLEM I MUST NOW TRACK MY MILEAGE IN ORDER TO KNOW WHEN TO FILL UP, AND BECAUSE I CANNOT AFFORD THE REPAIRS, I CANNOT PASS MY STATE INSPECTION. I FEEL THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE ISSUED AS A RECALL BY GM. *TR
UPON FILLING MY GAS TANK AT A LOCAL GAS STATION, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND MY GAS GAUGE BEGAN TO GO HAYWIRE WITH MANY FUEL LEVEL FLUCTUATIONS. MY LOCAL DEALER TOLD ME THAT MY GAS CAP WAS DEFECTIVE, WHICH I THEN REPLACED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OUT A FEW DAYS LATER, BUT MY GAS GAUGE CONTINUES TO MALFUNCTION. I AM NOW TOLD THAT A REPLACEMENT OF THE SENSOR WILL COST BETWEEN $800 TO $1000 AND THAT MY EXTENDED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THIS. INTERNET RESEARCH HAS REVEALED HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. THIS COMPANY HAS RECEIVED MY TAX DOLLARS FOR A BAILOUT ONLY TO EXPECT MORE MONEY FOR A DEFECT THAT IS OBVIOUSLY POOR QUALITY PARTS AND WORKMANSHIP. *TR
FUEL SENSOR FAILURE ON 2006 TRAILBLAZER. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN TWO YEARS. THE FIRST TIME THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY, NOW IT IS NOT FOR THE EXACT SAME FAILURE. *TR
GAS GAUGE STOPPED WORKING AND ENGINE LIGHTS STAYS ON. *TR
AFTER FILL UP FUEL GAUGE WENT TO EMPTY. I WAS ERRATIC FOR A COUPLE REFILLS, BUT NOW QUIT WORKING. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE IN MY 2006 CHEVY TRAIL BLAZER WORKS INTERMITTENTLY AND FLUCTUATES BETWEEN EMPTY AND HALF FULL OVER 12 MONTHS AGO. THIS IS A PERMANENT CONDITION. MY CAR ONLY HAD 42K MILES ON IT - THE WARRANTY WAS OVER AT 35K. OTHER CHEVY OWNERS OF TRAILBLAZERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM FOLLOWED BY ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. THE DEALER STATED THE "FIX" WOULD COST 900 DOLLARS. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND SILVERADO MODELS FOR SEVERAL YEARS. I WAS TOLD THE SILVERADO WAS UNDER A RECALL BECAUSE THE SPEEDOMETER WAS AFFECTED ALONG WITH THE FUEL GAUGE. BUT THAT THE TRAILBLAZERS WERE NOT UNDER RECALL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AS ONE CAN EASILY RUN OUT OF FUEL IN TRAFFIC OR BE DISABLED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT WARNING. *TR
MY 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT IS JUNK! WE PURCHASED IT USED IN 06 IT HAD AROUND 20,000 MILES IT NOW HAS 75,000 THE FRONT DOORS MAKE LOUD POPPING NOISES WHEN OPENED AND SHUT. THEY ARE COMING LOOSE FROM THE FRAME. *TR
FUEL GAUGE WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY AND IS ON EMPTY EVEN THOUGH IT WAS FULL OF GASOLINE. THE GAUGE IS NOT WORKING NOW AT ALL AND USE TRIPOMETER TO MONITOR MILEAGE. WHY, BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP WANTS OVER $900 TO REPAIR AND I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY. HOW MANY COMPLAINTS DOES YOUR OFFICE NEED TO RECEIVE BEFORE A RECALL IS DONE BY THE MANUFACTURER? THIS IS DANGEROUS AND VERY EXPENSIVE AND THERE IS NO REASON A CAR WITH 40,000 MILES ON IT TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN. *TR
AT 57,000 MILES, FUEL GAUGE STOPPED WORKING. CONSISTENTLY SHOWS EMPTY, EVEN WHEN FUEL TANK IS FULL. CAUSES FUEL LIGHT TO REMAIN ON AND CAUSES CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO GO ON OCCASIONALLY. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE BATTERY INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. TEN SECONDS LATER, THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. SHE DROVE TO A NEARBY DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED WHILE DRIVING AND DID NOT PRODUCE ENOUGH ENERGY TO THE BRAKES IN ORDER TO STOP. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR AND THE BATTERY. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL. THROUGH ONLINE RESEARCH, HE FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FOR THIS SAME DEFECT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 33,900.

THIS ISSUE IS WITH THE 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT LS MODEL. THE ISSUE IS WITH THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR. THIS PART WILL FAIL WITHOUT NOTICE AND OCCURRED ON MY VEHICLE AT 50K MILES. THE FAILURE IS PERMANENT AND WILL MAKE THE VEHICLE FAIL ANY STATE REQUIRED SAFETY INSPECTIONS. THE ISSUE CAN BE CORRECTED. IT WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $100 FOR THE PART. CAUSES ENGINE LIGHT TO ACTIVATE AS WELL. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER AND A GARAGE, BOTH WERE FAMILIAR WITH THE PROBLEM AND SAID IT WAS COMMON ON GM VEHICLES. *TR
THE REAR CENTER BRAKE LIGHT COVER ASSEMBLY LOCATED ABOVE THE REAR HATCH FAILS. I NEED TO HAVE IT REPLACED. I HAVE ALREADY HAD IT REPLACED ONCE. THIS WILL BE THE 3RD ONE THAT WILL BE ON THIS VEHICLE. CURRENTLY IT IS OFF. I CAN NOT TAKE A CHANCE ON CAUSING AN INJURY ACCIDENT TO SOMEONE BECAUSE IT CAN BLOW OFF THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. MY SISTER HAS A 2005 MODEL AND HAS ALSO HAD HERS REPLACED. HERS DID BLOW OFF AND SHATTERED IN THE ROADWAY. *TR

NO WARNING-- FILLED UP GAS TANK WITH 19 GALLONS- NO WARNING LIGHT AND NOT BELOW ORANGE LINE-- WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND GAS GAUGE READS EMPTY; THEN READS ERRATICALLY-- HAVE TO DRIVE AND GET GAS BASED ON TRIP ODOMETER; TOOK TO REPAIR SHOP TOLD WAS ASCENDING UNIT AND FUEL PUMP WILL COST ANYWHERE FROM $700 TO $1,100 TO REPAIR; APPARENTLY THIS HAPPENS WITH 2006 TRAILBLAZERS BETWEEN 40,000 & 50,000 MILES (OURS IS AT 57,000) --TOLD WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AT 100,000 MILES-- HAVE NOT HAD REPAIRED WAITING UNTIL CAN COME UP WITH TO FIX OR COMPLETELY QUITS WORKING. *TR

I OWN A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT AND THE FUEL GAUGE NEVER REGISTERS THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL. IT ALWAYS FLUCTUATES BETWEEN EMPTY AND 3/4 FULL EVEN AFTER FILLING THE TANK COMPLETELY. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR AT LEAST ONE MONTH NOW AND THE REPAIRS WILL BE AT LEAST $500.00 TO COMPLETE. MY 2006 CHEVORLET TRAILBLAZER'S GAS GAUGE IS DEFECTIVE. HE DEALER SAYS THAT THE SENDING UNIT IS CORRODED. I UNDRSTAND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY SUCH FAILURE IN THIS VEHICLE AND OTHER CHEVORLET PRODUCTS. *TR
MY SON AND HUSBAND PURCHASED A USED 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER SS ON NOV 4, 2008. THEY PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH ZURICH. ON FEB 14, 2009 THE ENGINE BLEW UP. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON NOTIFYING THE DRIVER OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE MOTOR. ZURICH ASKED FOR THE MECHANIC TO REBUILD THE MOTOR, NOW THE MOTOR STILL IS NOT RUNNING PROPERLY AND THEY REFUSE TO PAY THE MECHANIC OR ORDER A NEW MOTOR. THEY WANT HIM TO TAKE IT APART AGAIN. PURCHASED USED 38K MILES PROBLEMS STARTED STRAIGHT AWAY REARDOOR LOCKS QUIT, CHILD SAFETY LOCK ROD FELL OFF BROKEN CLIP, WOULD FIND PLASTIC TRIM ON GROUND NEXT TO CAR,SEAT TRIM BROKEN FELL OFF, WHEN IT RAINS OR SNOWS 4 WHEEL UNIT FAIL TO ENGAGE AND DISENGAGE CORRECTLY ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES OUT ALOT ALTERNATOR IS LOUD WATER PUMP WENT OUT ,REAR CHEVY EMBLEM POPPED OFF WE NOW HAVE 56K CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT'S NEXT. *TR
I WAS OPERATING MY 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WHEN I SLIDE ON SLIPPERY PAVEMENT DUE TO FREEZING RAIN. MY VEHICLE BEGAN TURNING SIDEWAYS THEN STRAIGHTENED OUT AND BUMPED THE LEFT SIDE CURB PARALLEL WITH MY TIRES. ONLY THE LEFT SIDE TIRES STRUCK A 4" CURB. BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE LEFT ONE HIT ME IN THE SIDE OF THE FACE AND LEFT SHOULDER. THE IMPACT WITH THE CURB COULD NOT HAVE BEEN AT MORE THAN 10 MPH. THERE IS NO DAMAGE DONE TO MY VEHICLE, THE STEP BARS, MUD FLAPS AND/OR EVEN A SCUFF MARK ON EITHER OF MY TIRES. NO ONE ELSE WAS IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME. THANK GOODNESS MY 1 YR OLD AND 8 YR OLD DAUGHTERS WERE NOT. THIS AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT WOULD HAVE CAUSED INJURIES TO MY DAUGHTERS NOT A BUMP TO A 4" CURB. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER 17 YEARS AND HAVE ONLY HAVE ONE ACCIDENT. I DRIVE FOR A LIVING AND NOW I AM TERRIFIED TO TAKE MY GIRLS IN MY VEHICLE. DRIVERS DOOR CONTROL PANEL BURNED CAUSING FAILURE OF DOOR LOCKS,WINDOWS,ETC. GAS GAUGE CONTINUALLY SHOWED INCORRECT AMOUNTS OF FUEL CAUSING RUNNING OUT OF FUEL. REPLACED THE PART AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN.CHEVROLET TOOK NO BLAME.RECENTLY CHEVY NOTIFIED ALL OWNERS THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM THAT THEY WILL FIX UP TO 1/2 OF THE ACTUAL COST.(MY SHARE WILL BE $218 FOR THEIR MISTAKE) BACK TAIL LIGHTS HAVE BLOWN OUT OVER AND OVER AGAIN SINCE PURCHASE. FINALLY REPLACED ENTIRE UNITS ON MY OWN ANDIT CONTINUED TO HAPPEN. CONTACTED CHEVROLET DEALER AND CHEVY CUSTOMER SERVICE.WENT TO DEALER AND HAD THE TAILLIGHTS REPAIRED BUT CHEVY AGAIN TOOK NO RESPONSIBILITY BUT KINDLY SENT ME A$1000 VOUCHER FOR USE ON A NEW PURCHASE OF A CHEVROLET.THE DEALER REPAIR COST WAS APPRX.$680. STILL OWN THE VEHICLE AND WILL HAVE MAKE FUEL GAUGE REPAIR. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT AND SINCE ABOUT THE 40,000 MARK, THE GAS GAUGE IS NOT WORKING. IT DISPLAYS THAT IT IS ON EMPTY ALL THE TIME. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE CHEVY DEALER, THEY SAID IT WOULD COST OVER $500 TO REPAIR IT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. I HAD A SENSOR REPLACED THAT WAS LOCATED IN THE STEERING COLUMN BEHIND THE AIRBAG AND THAT WORKED FOR A FEW WEEKS BUT IT IS BACK TO GOING ON AND OFF. THAT SENSOR AND LABOR COST ME $500.00 TOTAL BECAUSE I HAD TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT 3 TIMES. FUEL GAUGE ALWAYS READS EMPTY. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON THE FUEL GAUGE PROBLEM AND THERE ARE A TON OF THE SAME PROBLEMS OUT THERE. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL IMMEDIATELY. I HAVE TO GET THE FUEL PUMP AND SENSOR REPLACED AT A COST OF $800.00 TO $1000.00. THE TROUBLE STARTED AT ABOUT 55,000 MILES. SHAME ON CHEVROLET FOR LETTING THIS GO ON. AT AROUND 53,000 MI I FILLED MY GAS TANK AND WHEN I STARTED THE TRAILBLAZER UP THE FUEL GAUGE READ EMPTY AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT WAS ON. AFTER ABOUT 20 MILES THE GAUGE STARTED TO REGISTER, BUT WOULD INTERMITTENTLY DROP TO EMPTY. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL UP. NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND SHUTS OFF RANDOMLY. I HAVE NOT HAD IT CHECKED OUT FOR A SOLUTION YET. *TR
THE ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON SOMETIMES AND SOMETIMES OFF OR SOMETIMES BLINKING. THE CAR WAS TAKEN IN TO CHECK THE COMPUTER READ OUT TO FIND IT IS A MISFIRE AND I WAS TOLD THE REPAIR WOULD COST ALMOST $4000.00. ONE TIME, THE RADIO SOUNDED 3 BEEPS AND SAID "FIRE ON", I SHUT OFF THE CAR AND IT CONTINUED, TOOK OUT THE KEYS, STILL CONTINUED. WAS TOLD NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING FROM THE DEALER AND ON STAR WHEN I DID A DIAGNOSTIC . ON STAR SAID MY OIL IS REGISTERING -- HOWEVER THE CAR SAYS 99% REMAINS. LIGHTS GO DIM ESPECIALLY WHEN APPLYING BRAKES AND SOMETIMES WHENEVER. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON SOMETIMES AND THEN GOES OFF. SOMETIMES FLASHES DURING IDLE AND SOMETIMES NOT. SINCE COMPUTER HAS BEEN CLEARED, ENGINE LIGHT HAS NOT COME ON FOR ONE DAY BUT THE GAS MILEAGE IS VERY BAD SINCE I HAD IT IN TO CHECK ABOUT THE LIGHT. BY THE WAY, NOTHING WAS FIXED BUT I WAS CHARGED $148.50 TO FIND OUT MY FAIRLY NEW VEHICLE WITH 27,000 MIS. IS BROKE. I WAS TOLD THE HEAD NEEDS REPLACED. THEY ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THEM. THE FUEL GAUGE STAYS ON EMPTY WITH LIGHT ON ALL THE TIME AND HAVE HEARD THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. HAVE TO FILL UP SUV, SET MILEAGE TO 0.0 AND FILL UP AROUND 225 MILES DRIVEN SINCE THIS COSTS A LOT TO FIX. I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IN JAN. 19, 2006. ON JAN. 20, 2009 THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE COMPONENT IN THE TRAILBLAZER QUIT WORKING. NOW I AM OVER THE 36,000 MILES - I HAVE APPROX. 44, 000 MILES ON THE TRAILBLAZER. THE 4 WHEEL-DRIVE WILL NOT WORK IN 4WD HI, 4WD LO OR AUTOMATIC 4WD. I LIVE IN NORTHWESTERN PA AND NEED 4WD, ESPECIALLY THE WINTER OF 2009. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS OCCASIONS THAT I HAVE SLID ON THE ROAD NARROWLY MISSING AN ACCIDENT DUE TO NOT HAVING 4 WHEEL DRIVE. I CALLED SEVERAL DEALERS AND ASKED IF THEY HAD PROBLEMS BUT WAS TOLD ONE OF TWO ANSWERS: 1. THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU BUY A 4 WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE OR 2. THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT. LAST NIGHT I FILLED MY TANK UP; ORIGINALLY THE INDICATOR WAS ON THE LAST LINE BEFORE EMPTY. WHEN I TURNED MY CAR ON AFTER FILLING THE CAR UP COMPLETELY, THE INDICATOR ON THE FUEL GAUGE WENT BELOW THE EMPTY SYMBOL AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT CAME ON. I DROVE THE CAR HOME AND CONTINUED TO CHECK IT THROUGH THE EVENING. THE TANK READ EMPTY AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT WAS ON EVERY TIME I CHECKED IT, BUT NO OTHER LIGHTS CAME ON. THIS MORNING THE INDICATOR WAS STILL BELOW THE EMPTY SYMBOL, THE LOW FUEL LIGHT WAS ON, AND NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WHILE DRIVING TO WORK THE INDICATOR FLUCTUATED BETWEEN FULL AND EMPTY. AT LUNCH, 4 HOURS LATER, WHEN I TURNED THE CAR ON THE INDICATOR WAS AT FULL. HOWEVER, AFTER DRIVING 2 MILES, IT WENT DOWN COMPLETELY TO EMPTY AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT CAN ON AGAIN. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET THIS MORNING I FOUND OUT THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS MOST LIKELY A FUEL SENSOR PROBLEM AND THAT THERE WERE MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS. ALL COMPLAINTS HAVING A FUEL GAUGE PROBLEM INVOLVED 2005 OR 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS THAT HAVE REACHED MILEAGE OF 44,000-53,000 MILES. WHEN I CALLED THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS CORRECT, THAT THIS WAS MOST LIKELY A FUEL SENSOR PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS NOT A PROBLEM THAT TRAILBLAZERS HAVE, IT WAS A PROBLEM THAT ALL NEW CARS HAVE, BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS IN NEW CARS AND THAT THEY FAIL. IT WOULD COST A MINIMUM $800-900 TO FIX. MY CAR IS BARELY 3 YRS OLD (2006 MODEL BOUGHT USED WITH 10,000 MILES IN JUNE 06) AND HAS 51,900 MILES ON IT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. AFTER FILLING UP THE VEHICLE WITH FUEL, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED AND DISPLAYED THAT THE TANK WAS EMPTY. THE "LOW FUEL" AND CHECK ENGINE INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT MUST ALWAYS WRITE DOWN THE AMOUNT OF GAS HE PURCHASES IN ORDER TO ESTIMATE WHEN THE VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE REFUELED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE SENSOR FAILED AND WOULD COST $400 TO REPAIR. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED OR INSPECTED BY A TECHNICIAN. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY; THEREFORE, NO COMPENSATION WOULD BE PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 49,600.
