TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED TO WORK PROPERLY. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE MADE LOUD NOISES. THE NOISE OCCURRED EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED FOR AT LEAST FOUR MONTHS. THE CONTACT HAS NOT TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO BE INSPECTED FOR THE ALTERNATOR FAILURE. HE WAS INFORMED BY ANOTHER DEALER THAT THE BEARINGS WERE FAULTY. HE FEELS THAT THIS IS A SAFTEY ISSUE BECAUSE THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY ARE NEEDED FOR THE VEHICLE TO OPERATE PROPERLY. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 39,000. UPDATED 02-18-09 UPDATED 02/18/09. *JB
MY 2006 TRAIL BLAZER HAS APPROX. 60,000 MILES. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE AN INJECTOR. THE HEATER FAN MOTOR IS NOW NOT WORKING AND THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR DOES NOT WORK, THE LIGHTER DOES NOT WORK AND KEEPS BLOWING FUSES IF YOU TRY TO USE IT. I HAVE REPLACED BOTH BRAKE LIGHTS AS WELL. *TR

FUEL GAUGE IN 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER MALFUNCTIONS AND SHOWS EMPTY EVEN WHEN TANK IS FULL. *TR
I HIT A BUMP ONE DAY AND THE INTERIOR LIGHT POPPED ON FOR A SECOND AND THEN WENT OFF. I EVENTUALLY REALIZED THE REAR DOOR WAS NOT LATCHING AT ALL, I TINKERED WITH IT, TRIED SOME WD-40, IT DOES WORK INTERMITTENTLY, BUT IS GETTING TO THE POINT WHERE ITS NOT LATCHING THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME. THE 3 BOLTS HOLDING THE LOCKING MECHANISM AND THE POINT WHERE THE LOCK WITH LATCH DO SHOW SIGNS OF CORROSION. IT APPEARS THE 2003 TRAILBLAZERS HAD THIS SAME ISSUE AND EVENTUALLY THERE WAS A RECALL. AT 38,000 MILES I ALSO HAD THE FUEL GAUGE ISSUE AND THE FUEL SENDING UNIT IS BAD. *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IN JANUARY 2008. RIGHT NOW, IT HAS ABOUT 44,000 MILES ON IT. TWO MONTH AGO, THE FUEL GAUGE COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. IT ALWAYS DISPLAYS THAT THE TANK IS TOTALLY EMPTY AND THE FUEL LIGHT IS ON, NO MATTER IF I JUST FILLED UP THE TANK. I DID RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND HAVE SEEN THAT THIS IS A VERY WIDESPREAD DEFECT THAT HAS AFFECTED A LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE. THE MECHANIC I TOOK THE TRUCK TO SAYS THAT IT WILL BE ABOUT $800 TO FIX...THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE. I WANT CHEVY TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE AND FIX THE DEFECT THAT OBVIOUSLY IS THEIR FAULT. IT ISN'T A COINCIDENCE THAT THIS SAME PROBLEM IS HAPPENING TO SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE. *TR

I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER FROM A LOCAL USED CAR LOT. TWO MONTHS AFTER MY FUEL LEVEL GAUGE WENT OUT I SEARCHED TO SEE IF ANYONE WAS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND HOW TO FIX IT I MADE MANY CALL TO GM TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS PART BECAUSE SO MANY WAS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM THROUGHOUT AMERICA MY MOTHER ASK TO DRIVE MY CAR I HAVE NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM I EXPLAIN TO MY MOTHER THE PROBLEM WITH THE CAR YOU CAN'T TELL HOW MUCH GAS IS IN YOUR CAR ANYWAY LONG STORY SHORT SHE RAN OUT OF GAS ON THE INTERSTATE AND PULL ON THE WRONG SIDE A CAR SMASH INTO HER FROM THE BACK THIS IS WHY GM IS ASKING FOR MONEY AND NON AMERICAN CAR MAKERS IS SINGING WE NEED TO MAKE GM RECALL THESE HALF MADE CARS COULD YOU PLEASE PUT A MANDATORY RECALL ON THE 2000'S CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS THANK YOU IN ADVANCE. *TR

I AM FAILING COMPLIANT CASE OF FIRE HAZARD ON THE BLOWER RESISTOR, HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE CHEVY GARAGE ABOUT THIS THEY HAVE KNOWN THE PROBLEM WAS THERE SINCE 2004 AND NEVER REPORTED THIS, THE WIRES BURNT FILLING THE TRAILBLAZER HAZARD SMOKE CAUSING MY GRANDCHILDREN TO COUGH AND NAUSEATED, ALONG WITH MY WIFE AND ME. EARLIER THIS YEAR ON COMPLAINT #10225267, I REPORTED THAT OUR 2006 TRAILBLAZER GAS GAGE STOP WORKING AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. OUR DEALER SAID THEY FIXED IT. A FEW MONTHS LATER THEE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND ERASED THE ERROR. THIS WEEK IN AGAIN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE BLAZER IS AT THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN. WHEN IS GM/CHEVROLET GOING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I KNOW FOR EVERY COMPLAINT ON THIS SITE THERE ARE MANY SILENT TRAILBLAZER OWNERS WHO ARE GOING THROUGH THESE SOME FUEL GAGE AND ENGINE LIGHT PROBLEMS. *TR
FUEL GAUGE INDICATOR FAILURE. 2006 TRAILBLAZER LT. WAS INTERMITTENT FOR AROUND 2-3 WEEKS LAST WINTER THEN STOPPED ALL TOGETHER. NOW I TRACK FUEL LEVEL BY GAL USED ON THE ON BOARD COMPUTER. *TR
AFTER COMPLETELY FILLING UP MY GAS TANK I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE GAS LIGHT CAME ON, LOW FUEL WARNING CHIMED AND THE GAS GAUGE READ EMPTY. I IMMEDIATELY RESTARTED AND GOT THE SAME INDICATIONS. WITHIN A MINUTE OR SO OF DRIVING THE LIGHT WENT OUT AND THE GAUGE BEGAN TO SLOWLY RISE. WHILE DRIVING THE GAUGE WOULD CONTINUE TO SLOWLY SWING UP AND DOWN, OCCASIONALLY SWINGING LOW ENOUGH TO TRIGGER THE LOW FUEL WARNING (EVERY 3-5MINUTES WHILE MOVING). AFTER ABOUT 1/4 TANK OF GAS HAD BEEN USED THE GAUGE SEEMED TO STABILIZE AND READ ACCURATELY. THE PERIOD OF ERRATIC BEHAVIOR RETURNED EVERY TIME THE TANK WAS FILLED AND APPEARED TO BE WORSENING (LASTING LONGER WITH EACH CYCLE). ON 12/09/2008 VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER WARRANTY AT A DEALER AND THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT WAS REPLACED. THERE HAVE BEEN NO INCIDENTS SINCE. *TR
OUR 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT LS HAS A FAULTY THE FUEL GAUGE. AT FIRST IT WOULD SHOW FULL WHEN WE FILLED UP, BUT AFTER DRIVING FOR 5 MINUTES WOULD GO TO EMPTY. AT AROUND 1/4 A TANK IT WOULD GO BACK TO AN ACCURATE LEVEL. NOW IT NEVER EVEN REGISTERS THE FUEL LEVEL ANYMORE, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. I AM AFRAID OF STALLING, ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAVE CHILDREN WITH ME. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THEY COULDN'T FIX IT BECAUSE NO RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED. THIS PROBLEM STARTED AT AROUND 36,000 MILES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, ALL OF THE SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT A CRASH OR IMPACT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CHEVROLET DEALER AND THE DIAGNOSTIC INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN A ROLLOVER STATE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN GOOD CONDITION. THE FUEL SENDING UNIT OF MY 06 TRAILBLAZER LS HAS JOINED THE 668+ THAT DO NOT WORK. I HAVE STRIPED MY CAR DOWN TO THE FRAME. WHEN I PULLED OUT MY GAS PUMP... WOW THIS THING IS MADE TO FAIL. THE ARM IS SO FLIMSY GAS MOVING COULD PULL THE ELECTRODES AWAY FROM THE CIRCUIT BOARD. YOUR INVESTIGATION WAS LAUNCHED MONTHS AGO. WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG? *TR

FILLED FUEL TANK APPROX. 1 MONTH AGO AND FUEL GAUGE STARTED FLUCTUATING. SHOWS EMPTY AND LIGHT REMAINS ON 90% OF THE TIME. IT HAS NEVER WORKED PROPERLY SINCE THAT TIME. WENT TO CHEVROLET DEALER WHERE PURCHASED AND WAS TOLD THERE IS NO SERVICE BULLETIN SHOWING A PROBLEM. STATED FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT PROBABLY BAD. FUEL TANK HAS TO BE REMOVED. PRICE RANGES FOR REPAIR BETWEEN $800.00 AND $1100.00. HAVE DECIDED NOT TO GET FIXED DUE TO COST AND RESEARCH SHOWING THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM CHEVROLET IS HAVING. TEMPORARILY CORRECTING PROBLEM BY FILLING FUEL TANK EVERY 250 MILES. *TR
LIGHT KEEP GOING OUT WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. *TR
ACS/ SERVICE STABILITRAK LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING AND TO GET IT TO GO OFF I HAVE TO STOP AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN. ALSO FUEL GAUGE GOES FROM FULL TO EMPTY EVEN ON A FULL TANK OF GAS. WHEN I TURN MY HEAT ON IT WILL ONLY WORK ON NUMBERS 1-4. NUMBER 5 IS COMPLETELY OUT. ALSO THERE'S A SQUEAK IN MY BRAKES THAT I CANT GET TO GO AWAY. I REPLACED THE ROTORS AND BRAKES AND HAD 2 NEW FRONT WHEEL SPEED SENSORS PUT ON BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT WAS WHAT WAS CAUSING THE SERVICE STABILITRAK LIGHT TO COME ON. BUT THAT DIDN'T FIX MY PROBLEM EITHER. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT BECAUSE I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE USED AND IT HAD MILES ON IT WHEN PURCHASED THAT NOTHING IS COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY. *TR
THERE WERE NO EVENTS THAT LED TO THE PART FAILURE. I OWN A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT AND HAVE HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE THE MOST RECENT BEING, HAVING TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY DUE TO A BAD/FAULTY DIODE IN THE ALTERNATOR. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE FUEL GAUGE DROPPED TO ZERO INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ELECTRIC FUEL SENDING UNIT WAS DEFECTIVE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED WITH A SHORTAGE THAT COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE A FIRE OR SAFETY HAZARD. THE ESTIMATED REPAIR COSTS WOULD BE BETWEEN $600-$800. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS OVER 36,500. UPDATED 02/18/09. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHENEVER THE DRIVER DEPRESSES THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE FAILS TO STOP. SHE MUST CONSTANTLY PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. SHE HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES AND THE MASTER CYLINDER HAS BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE REPAIR SHOP FOR THE FOURTH TIME. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED AND THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD FIND A SOLUTION TO THE DEFECT. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY, THE CONTACT HEARD THE ALARM SOUND. SHE LOOKED OUTSIDE AND NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND STATED THAT IT WAS ELECTRICAL AND ORIGINATED FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FIRE BURNED THE ENTIRE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, A PORTION OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, AND THE ROOF. THE CONTACT CALLED HER INSURANCE COMPANY, BUT COULD NOT REACH THE CHEVROLET DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT ON DIM. I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM TO THIS DAY AND IT HAPPENS WHEN THEY ARE ON DIM OR BRIGHT. *TR
FUEL SENSOR IS OUT ON MY 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. COMMON PROBLEM. GAS GAUGE ALWAYS READS EMPTY--EVEN AFTER I FILL UP. *TR
AFTER GETTING GAS AND GETTING BACK IN TRUCK, I NOTICED THE FUEL GAUGE READ E. AFTER DRIVING 100 PLUS MILES THE GAUGE WOULD SLOWLY DRIFT UP TO HALF, THEN FALL BACK TO E. OVER TIME IT GOT WORSE UNTIL THE FUEL GAUGE READ E ALL THE TIME. I FINALLY CONVINCED THE DEALERSHIP THIS WAS UNDER CA EMISSION WARRANTY AND THEY AGREED TO FIX IT. WHEN THEY WERE DOING THE REPAIR, THEY NOTICED THE MAIN CONNECTOR FOR THE FUEL PUMP GOT HOT AND MELTED AND WAS READY TO SHORT OUT. SO THEY REPLACED THE ENTIRE FUEL PUMP ASSY. ALSO THEY NOTICED THE CLIPS THAT HOLD THE FUEL LINE TO THE TANK WERE NEVER INSTALLED BY THE MANUFACTURER. SO THEY INSTALLED THOSE AS WELL. THE SERVICE DEPT KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM RIGHT AWAY, WHICH TELLS ME THIS HAS BEEN A ON GOING PROBLEM AND THEY JUST DO THE REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY TO AVOID ANY RECALLS. THIS IS BECOMING A PROBLEM WITH MORE AND MORE VEHICLES, AND NO ONE IS WILLING TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE, UNLESS THE VEHICLE FINALLY CATCHES FIRE AND SOMEONE LOSES THEIR LIFE BEFORE SOMEONE ACTS. IF A FUEL PUMP ASSY HAS A MELTED CONNECTOR, THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG. *TR
FUEL GAUGE STOPPED WORKING AT 49,000 MILES. FUEL GAUGE READS ALL OVER THE PLACE AND TRIPS A CODE OFF AND ON FOR FAULTY FUEL SENDING UNIT. I HAVE TO SET TRIP METER TO TRACK FUEL. I KNOW OTHER PEOPLE WITH SAME YEAR TRAILBLAZER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. CAN RUN OUT OF FUEL AT ANY TIME DURING ANY CONDITIONS IF NOT KEPT IN CHECK. NOT AN EASY OR CHEAP FIX! FUEL TANK NEEDS TO BE DROPPED AND FUEL SENDING UNIT REPLACED. NOT SOMETHING THE AVERAGE PERSON CAN DO. *TR

PURCHASED VEHICLE ON 09-08, WITH ROUGHLY 45000, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF, AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS OF GOING BACK AND FORTH AT CHEVY DEALER THEY DETERMINED IT WAS A FAULTY CYLINDER HEAD ON THE NUMBER FOUR CYLINDER. FILED BBC COMPLAINT AND SPOKE WITH CHEVY WHO REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING. COUPLE MONTHS LATER AND APPROX MILEAGE 60000, THE FUEL GAUGE NO LONGER WORKS CAUSING ME TO RUN OUT OF GAS A COUPLE DIFFERENT TIMES. ABOUT THE SAME TIME, THE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM DASH LIGHTS WOULD INTERMITTENTLY COME ON AND OFF. I HAVE NOT CONTACTED CHEVY ABOUT THE OTHER TWO ISSUES AS I FELT THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING THE SAME AS THE HEAD PROBLEM. *TR
I RAN OUT OF GAS ON EXPRESSWAY ON WAY HOME FROM WORK WHILE GAUGE SHOWED 1/4 TANK. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN MONTHS LATER WITH TANK SHOWING JUST UNDER 1/4 TANK. GAUGE AROUND THE TIME OF FIRST INCIDENT STARTED BOUNCING AROUND OFF AND ON AT ANY READING WHILE SUV WAS RUNNING. IT WOULD GO FROM EMPTY TO 1/2 A TANK AND BOUNCE AROUND BACK AND FORTH EVENTUALLY STOPPING AT A RANDOM AMOUNT. THE GAUGE WOULD GO TO EMPTY WHEN IT WAS FULL UNTIL IT WAS DRIVEN ENOUGH THAT I WAS DOWN TO AROUND 3/4 OF A TANK THEN IT WOULD GIVE THE CORRECT READING UNTIL GUESSING AROUND 1/4 OF A TANK WHEN THE INCIDENTS HAPPENED WITH ME RUNNING OUT OF GAS. A FEW MONTHS LATER THE GAUGE COMPLETELY QUIT WORKING AND HAS YET TO WORK SINCE THEN. I STARTED RESEARCHING ONLINE ABOUT THE GAUGE AND FOUND MULTIPLE INCIDENTS WITH SAME YEAR AND MAKE AND MANY PEOPLE STATING THEY PAID OVER $700 TO HAVE REPAIRS DONE AND MULTIPLE PEOPLE STATING THEY HAD IT FAIL AGAIN. SINCE READING THOSE REMARKS I HAVE YET TO HAVE IT REPAIRED AND HAVE HAD TO KEEP TRACK OF MY MILEAGE SO THAT I DON'T RUN OUT OF FUEL AGAIN. *TR

WATER PENETRATES THE HARNESS AND CORRODES THE DIRECTIONAL SIGNAL FUSE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS REPAIRED IN 2005 ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V198000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TURN SIGNAL). THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY; THEREFORE, THEY WOULD NOT ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
I OWN A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT AND THE FUEL GAUGE NEVER REGISTERS THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL. IT ALWAYS FLUCTUATES BETWEEN EMPTY AND 3/4 FULL EVEN AFTER FILLING THE TANK COMPLETELY. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR AT LEAST ONE MONTH NOW AND THE REPAIRS WILL BE AT LEAST $500.00 TO COMPLETE. THE PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURRING AS I CAN NOT AFFORD TO REPLACE THE PART AT THIS TIME AND HOPEFULLY NO FURTHER PROBLEMS WILL EMERGE IN THE MEANTIME. I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM OVER THE INTERNET TO DETERMINE IF OTHERS ARE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. THIS APPEARS TO BE A TREND THAT HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR A FEW YEARS NOW. THE FUEL GAUGE NEEDLE DOES NOT MOVE AND INDICATES THAT FUEL IS PRESENT, WHEN IN REALITY, THERE IS NONE. THERE IS NO RECALL RELATING TO THIS FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON FAILURE WITH THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. THE FAILURE CAUSED HER TO RUN OUT OF GASOLINE ON THE HIGHWAY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.

DRIVER SIDE SPEAKER INTERMITTENTLY COMES ON (RARELY). DRIVER SIDE WINDOW SWITCH INTERMITTENTLY WORKS. IT USED TO INTERMITTENTLY FAIL, NOW IT RARELY WORKS. OCCASIONALLY, ALL THE DRIVER CONTROLS ON THE DASHBOARD GO DEAD AND THE RADIO DOESN'T WORK. THE LOCK DOESN'T WORK. THE ABS LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ALWAYS ILLUMINATE. THIS INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONE BIG HEADACHE AND IT ALL SEEMS TO POINT TO THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW SWITCH WHICH IS UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR FIRES. THERE IS A DEFECT IN THESE WINDOW SWITCHES AND THE OWNERS OF THE VEHICLES SHOULD NOT BE BURDENED FINANCIALLY BECAUSE OF THIS. *TR
WE WERE INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. BOTH WERE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. AT THE TIME OF FILLING UP YOUR TANK THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND THE GAUGE WILL SWING TO FULL AND THEN GRADUALLY DROP DOWN TO EMPTY AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT WILL COME ON. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS EXPERIENCING AN ISSUE WITH THE TIE ROD ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE TIRE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WOULD SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY IF SHE ACCELERATED MORE THAN 35 MPH. THE SHAKING WOULD OCCUR AT 25 MPH, BUT COULD BE LEVELED OUT AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED HER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND PAY $100 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE GESTURE WAS UNREASONABLE. SHE RECEIVED NO ASSISTANCE FROM THE DEALER BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 46,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,000.

CONSEQUENCE IS INABILITY TO SOUND A HAZARD WARNING TO OTHER VEHICLES DURING AN EMERGENCY, WHICH CAN RENDER A COLLISION UNAVOIDABLE. DEFECTIVE OR MISADJUSTED HORN BUTTON SWITCH IS PROVEN AS ROOT CAUSE BECAUSE HORN CAN STILL BE ACTIVATED BY REMOTE KEY FOB. *TR

GM SHOULD HAVE RECALLED THIS VEHICLE BY NOW - IT IS FRUSTRATING FOR BOTH OWNERS AND MECHANICS ... IT IS OBVIOUS THAT A LARGE PORTION OF TRAILBLAZER OWNER ARE HAVING ISSUES RELATED TO FUEL SENSORS AND DELIVERY - IM A SINGLE MOTHER OF FOUR CHILDREN AND IM UNABLE TO AFFORD THIS REPAIR IM ALREADY PAYING OVER 18,000 FOR THIS VEHICLE. I JUST WANT TO GET SOME INFORMATION OUT THERE ON MY EXPERIENCE: BATTERY REPLACEMENT SEEM WAYS TOO OFTEN 8/2008, 10/2010, 9/2013 - AND THERE IS NO NOTICE UNTIL YOU CANNOT START IT ONE DAY. FIRST THING TO GO WAS THE IDLE PULLEY. I HAVE HAD THE WATER PUMP/THERMOSTAT/BELTS REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES 50K, 60K, 87K. HEADLIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS REPLACED AT LEAST 3 TIMES EACH. I HAVE HAD TO CLEAN THE THROTTLE BLOCK PLATE MULTIPLE TIMES OR THE TB WILL STALL WHEN THE BRAKE IS APPLIED OR HEAT/AC ON. I HAVE COME TO FIND OUT THAT THERE ARE MANY NON-OEM PARTS WHICH I NEVER REPLACED (I PURCHASED USED W/17K MILES) AND NOTHING SHOWED UP ON CAR FAX OR OTHER REPORTS ABOUT ACCIDENTS OR REPAIRS. I HAD THE GAS GUAGE/TANK/FLOAT REPAIRED WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY STILL AND THEN A YEAR LATER IT BROKE AGAIN, AND I AM STILL RIDING WITH IT BROKEN (AT LEAST THE LAST 5 YEARS), WHICH OF COURSE KEEPS MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON NEARLY ALL THE TIME. I JUST LOCATED THE NOTICE THAT GM IS NOW DOING 100% OF THE REPAIR AND I WILL BE MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO GET IT FIXED AS I WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION AND I NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE. I FILL EVERY 200 MILES. THERE ARE OTHER MINOR ISSUES SUCH AS INTERIOR LIGHTS GOING OUT, BOTH OF THE FRONT SEATS HAVE DETACHED FROM THE SIDE MOLDING (ONLY 1 LITTLE SCREW HOLDS THEM IN), THE REAR WASHER HAS NOT WORKED IN ABOUT 6 YEARS. I ALSO HAVE LOUD NOISES COMING OUT OF THE TIRES/WHEELS AND NO ONE CAN DETERMINE AN EXACT CAUSE, BUT IT'S NOT THE BRAKES OR ROTORS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. I CURRENTLY HAVE UNDER 89K MILES. I AM WAITING FOR THE DOOR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TO GO NEXT AS THAT SEEMS LIKE WHAT IS NEXT ON THE LIST OF TB ISSUES. *TR
I JUST BOUGHT MY USED 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER A FEW MONTHS AGO, AND ALMOST IMMEDIATELY BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY FUEL GAUGE. EVERYTIME I WOULD FILL UP, THE GAUGE WOULD MALFUNCTION AND READ EMPTY. THE LOW FUEL LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND THE CHIME WOULD ALERT FOR LOW FUEL. EVENTUALLY, AFTER DRIVING SEVERAL MILES, THE GAUGE WOULD BEGIN WORKING CORRECTLY. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN INCREASINGLY WORSE OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS. SOMETIMES THE GAUGE WOULD NOT CORRECT ITSELF AT ALL, AND OFTEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD ALSO COME ON. MORE RECENTLY THE FUEL GAUGE RARELY CORRECTS ITSELF AND I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY KEEP TRACK OF MY MILEAGE AND "GUESS" WHEN I NEED A FILL UP. UPON RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM ONLINE, I'VE DISCOVERED THAT THERE ARE AN ALARMINGLY LARGE NUMBER OF GM OWNERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME PROBLEM! SUPPOSEDLY, THE REPAIR REQUIRES A NEW FUEL PUMP, SENSOR, ETC. OF COURSE, SINCE THE TANK HAS TO BE DROPPED, THIS MEANS A HIGH LABOR RATE AS WELL. MOST PEOPLE REPORT A COST OF APPROX $800 TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM! LUCKILY, MY VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER MANUFACTURER WARRANTY, BUT WITH THE OUTRAGEOUS NUMBER OF OWNERS WITH THIS ISSUE, GM SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO STEP UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!
