TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET BLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, SHE NOTICED THAT THERE WAS SMOKE COMING INSIDE THE VEHICLE FROM THE VENTS. THE CONTACT REMOVED THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO POWER OFF. EVENTUALLY, THE VEHICLE POWERED OFF BUT RESTARTED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE REVVED FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE MINUTES AND SHUT OFF INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE FUSE BOX CAUGHT FIRE. THE CONTACT DISTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 159,000.
IN LIEU OF ALL THE CURRENT RECALLS APPLICABLE TO MY VEHICLE, NON OF WHICH AFFECT MINE. THE ONE RECALL THAT GM SHOULD BE ISSUING, I HAVE YET TO SEE, WHICH IN MY CONCERN COULD BE DEEMED A SAFETY MATTER. THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR MALFUNCTIONING, CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECTIVE PART AND/OR SYSTEM. QUOTING GM'S CLAIM ON THE RECALL NOTICE IN MY POSSESSION..." BOTH REAR BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED SIMULTANEOUSLY, EVEN AFTER FUSES WERE CHECKED BOTH UNDER THE HOOD AND BEHIND THE DRIVERS SIDE FUSE BOX (FUSE #12 & FUSE #34). THIS IS A ROAD HAZARD AND FAULTY WIRING SHOULD BE COVERED. FRONT LEFT HEADLIGHT WAS FOUND TO HAVE SWITCH WITH MELTED WIRING AS WELL, CHANGES BY MECHANIC AND I WAS INFORMED IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE. THIS VEHICLE HAS 3 RECALLS THUS FAR THAT ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IF SUCH FAULTS CAN CAUSE A FIRE WITHIN THE ELECTRICAL WIRINGS. I WOULD LIKE TO GET COMPENSATED FOR THE WORK DONE, THE BRAKE LIGHTS FAULTY WIRING SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL AS THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALER REFUSES TO FIX IT. *TR
HELLO, MY NAME IS [XXX] OWNER OF A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE IS THAT MY WIFE WAS DRIVING IT DOWN A HIGHWAY IN NORTHERN MICHIGAN, DRIVING AT ABOUT 45-50 MPH AND THE VEHICLE JUST SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN SHE LOST POWER TO STEER AND BRAKES. IF THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED IN THE CITY OR ON THE FREEWAY THIS COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. I CALLED CHEVROLET AND STARTED A CLAIM, THE PERSON I TALKED TO COULDN'T SPEAK MUCH ENGLISH OR UNDERSTAND IT AS WELL. I TOLD THEM WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND THEY WROTE BACK WITH A ENTIRELY DIFFERENT STORY. THEY SENT ME TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP, TO GET ADVISE. THE ONLY THING THEY COULD TELL ME WAS THERE IS NO RECALL ON THAT SWITCH. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THE MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND ALL POWER WENT OUT AND STEERING LOCKED UP WITH NO BRAKES. THE CAR SHUT OFF AND WOULDN'T START. I HAD THE CAR TOWED AND THEY RAN A TEST ON IT AND REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH. I HAVE THE RECEIPT SHOWING I HAD IT REPAIRED. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH ON THREE OCCASIONS FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED IN THE SAME FORMAT THREE TIMES SINCE JUNE OF 2014. DURING THE FIRST OCCASION, THE BRAKE PEDAL MADE A POPPING SOUND, VIBRATED, AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. IN TURN, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO RICK HENDRICKS CHEVROLET IN BUFORD, GEORGIA WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED. DURING THE SECOND OCCASION, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING DUE TO THE BRAKE FAILURE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CHATTAHOOCHEE COLLISION IN BUFORD, GEORGIA WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. DURING THE THIRD TIME THE CONTACT REAR ENDED A VEHICLE, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CALIBER COLLISION IN BUFORD, GEORGIA WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE TO BE DIAGNOSED BY A GENERAL MOTORS DEALER, AND THAT THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 123,000.
I WAS AT WORK AND MY DOOR POWER SWITCH STARTED SMOKING AND WAS ON FIRE AND I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KNOW WHERE AND HOW I CAN GET IT FIXED. *TR
WENT TO GET IN MY TRAILBLAZER AND THE WINDOW SWITCH PANEL WOULD NOT WORK AT ALL!! TOOK IT IN AND HERE TO FIND OUT THE PANEL WAS SMOKING AND SMELLED BURNED!! *TR
I HAVE A 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT.... SO IT GOES, I WAS PREPARING FOR MY LONG ROAD TRIP TO YOSEMITE, AND HAD JUST FUELED UP. ONCE I TURNED ON THE CAR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AND THEN I NOTICED THE GAS GAUGE MOVING RANDOMLY, BACK AND FORTH. IT THEN STAYED ON EMPTY. WELL I CALLED OUR MECHANIC SINCE WE WERE LEAVING ON A ROAD TRIP AND HE RECOMMENDED I FILL UP AT EVERY 200 MILES TO BE SAFE. AFTER I WAS TOLD OF THE EXPENSE TO FIX IT, I CONTINUE TO PROLONG THE REPAIR AND DECIDED TO DO FURTHER RESEARCH INTO THIS SITUATION. I AM BAFFLED BY THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM AND STILL NO RECALL BY GM. CAN YOU IMAGINE THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT REPORTED THE PROBLEM AND JUST TAKE IT DIRECTLY TO THEIR MECHANIC TO FIX. SHOULD EVERYONE BE REPORTING THE INCIDENT WE MAY HAVE GOTTEN THIS TO TURN INTO A RECALL. WELL IN HOPES THAT MY COMPLAINT HELPS...HERE IT GOES. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO IS EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. THE FUEL GAUGE CRASHED THE GAS GAUGE WILL SWING FROM EMPTY TO FULL ON OCCASION, BUT USUALLY JUST STAYS ON LOW FUEL. FROM WHAT I CAN TELL THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN 05-07 TRAILBLAZERS. SOMETIMES. *TR
AUTO WOULD START BUT TURN OFF RIGHT AWAY. I WAS TOLD THAT THE COMPUTER MODULE WAS SHORTING OUT AND THE AUTO WOULD START ON IT'S OWN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DISCOVERED BURNT WIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I WASHED MY VEHICLE AND THE NEXT DAY WHEN I WENT TO USE IT THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WINDOW PANEL WOULDN'T WORK. I HAD NOTICED A FUNNY SMELL A FEW TIMES BEFORE THIS BUT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE. I TRIED INTERMITTENTLY TO USE THE PANEL TO OPEN THE WINDOWS OR LOCK OR UNLOCK THE DOORS TO NO AVAIL. TWO DAYS LATER WHEN I WAS ON MY WAY HOME ALL 4 WINDOWS STARTED OPENING AND CLOSING ALL BY THEMSELVES. ONE WOULD GO UP AND THE OTHER WOULD GO DOWN. I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG. THE ONLY THING I KNEW WAS THAT I HAD WASHED THE VEHICLE. OF COURSE THE WINDOWS WERE UP AND IN CHECKING I COULDN'T SEE WHERE ANY WATER COULD GET INSIDE THE VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND I WOULD NEED A NEW SWITCH AT THE COST OF ALMOST $300.00 FOR THE DOOR PANEL SWITCH. THIS WOULD NOT INCLUDE LABOR COSTS TO MAKE IT WORK ON MY VEHICLE. I COULDN'T BELIEVE JUST WASHING MY VEHICLE COULD CAUSE SUCH A PROBLEM SO I DECIDED TO GO ONLINE TO SEE IF OTHERS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I FOUND THAT THERE IS APPARENTLY A RECALL. I WILL CONTACT THE 800 NUMBER AND SEE WHAT RECOURSE I HAVE IN GETTING MY PANEL REPLACED. *TR
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND ALL OF SUDDEN I HAD NO GAS PEDDLE AND MY SUV CAME TO A STOP. I HAD IT TOWED TO A SHOP AND WAS TOLD MY IGNITION SWITCH WENT. I CALLED GM TODAY WAS TOLD MY SUV WASN'T PART ON THE RECALL BUT THEY HAVE BEEN GETTING CALLS ABOUT TRAILBLAZERS AND COULD BE IN THE FUTURE. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT NOT DOING A COMPLETE LIST RIGHT UP FRONT. *TR
DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE 79 IN PENNSYLVANIA AT NORMAL SPEED WHEN MY AIRBAG LIGHT LIT UP AND MY AIR BAG DISENGAGED FLASHED, FOLLOWED BY MORE LIGHTS ON THE DASH GOING ON, AND TRACKING DISENGAGED FLASHED, THEN ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, ENGINE FAILURE FLASHED AS I STARTED MOVING TOWARD THE RIGHT HAND LANE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. JUST AS I MADE IT TO THE RIGHT LANE MY POWER CUT OUT AND I WAS GOING 20 - 25 MPH IN TWO SECONDS FLAT. I SWERVED TO THE BERM OF THE ROAD AS THE FOUR WHEELER SEMI TRUCK THAT WAS BEHIND ME NEARLY CLOBBERED ME. I INCHED ON THE BERM AT 20 MPH TO THE BRIDGEVILLE EXIT AND GOT TO THE COLUSSY CHEVROLET DEALER WHERE MY CAR STOPPED DEAD IN THE SERVICE DEPT. FIRST, THEY THOUGHT BATTERY, BUT THE BATTERY WAS FINE. IT WAS IGNITION SWITCH FAILURE WHICH CAUSED MY AIR BAGS TO DISENGAGE AND MY LOSING POWER. I WAS LUCKY I WASN'T KILLED!! THE COST OF REPAIRS WAS $337 BUT I WAS TOLD THAT MY 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER WAS NOT ON THE GM RECALL LIST, EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE EXACT THINGS GO WRONG WITH THE VEHICLES ON THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL LIST. AND THEY REPAIRED IT THE SAME WAY, WITH NO GUARANTEE THAT THIS WOULDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN!!! THIS IS NOT A "VEHICLE" RECALL, IT IS A "PARTS" RECALL AND MY VEHICLE HAD TO HAVE THE IGNITION SWITCH REPLACED. I CALLED THE GM IGNITION SWITCH RECALL HOTLINE AND THEY ESCALATED MY CASE UP AND UP AND EVERYONE SAID THE SAME THING....THEY ARE SORRY FOR MY DISTRESS, MY INCONVENIENCE BUT MY VEHICLE IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST SO THEY CANNOT REPLACE THE COST TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. PERHAPS IF THE SEMI TRUCK THAT WAS BEHIND ME KILLED ME, THEY MIGHT ACKNOWLEDGE MY SAFETY CONCERNS FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH (PART) AND NOT MY VEHICLE!!! *JS

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT ON A DIFFERENT OCCASION, THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS FAILED TO TURN OFF CAUSING IT TO OVER HEAT AND CATCH ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE RELAY SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 101,000.
THE HEADLIGHTS WHILE DRIVING WILL CUT OFF. I HAVE TRIED REPLACING HEADLIGHTS WITH NO SUCCESS. I SAW AN ARTICLE ABOUT A RECALL ON MY CAR PERTAINING TO HEADLIGHTS. WHEN THE ARTICLE STATES YOU GUYS WHERE TOLD IN AN EMAIL, I DON'T SEE THAT RECALL ON YOUR PAGE. PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH INFORMATION TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. ALSO, MY STABILITY CONTROL IS NOT WORKING. MY WIFE, DAUGHTER AND MYSELF WERE DRIVING ON IDAHO STATE HIGHWAY 70, A NARROW, WINDING, TWO-LANE ROAD WITH LITTLE TO NO SHOULDER, WHEN THE MOTOR STOPPED AND ILOST ALL POWER-BRAKES, STEERING ETC. I WAS FORTUNATELY ABLE TO STEER THE CAR OVER TO A WIDE SPOT ON THE SHOULDER AND STOP. I WAS UNABLE TO RE-START THE BLAZER AND CALLED AAA TO HAVE IT HAULED TO KNUDTSEN CHEVROLET IN COEUR D'ALENE, IDAHO. IN ANOTHER HALF HOUR WE WOULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING 70 MPH ON INTERSTATE AND THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTEROUS IF THE CAR HAD FAILED THEN IN HIGH VOLUME TRAFFIC. THE NEXT DAY I WAS ADVISED BY KNUDTSEN THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS THE PROBLEM. I WROTE A FOLLOW-UP LETTER TO THE OWNER AND THE SERVICE MANAGER CALLED A FEW DAYS LATER INDICATING THAT SINCE MY WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED NEITHER GM NOR KNUDTSEN COULD HELP ME WITH THE $268 CHARGE FOR REPLACING THE SWITCH. SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN TOLD GM AND KNUDTSEN WOULD SPLIT THE COST THREE WAYS SINCE I WAS A LONG-TIME CUSTOMER (THREE BLAZERS). I HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED ANY REIMBURSEMENT AS OF THIS DATE. IS THIS POSSIBLY ANOTHER CAR WHICH SHOULD BE ON THE RECALL LIST? *TR
ONCE THE VEHICLE IS PARKED THE KEY WILL NOT TURN OFF THE RUN POSITION, RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE NOT TURNING OFF COMPLETELY AND THE KEY CAN NOT BE RELEASED. IGNITION SWITCH WILL NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY. SOMETIMES AFTER LETTING THE VEHICLE SIT FOR AWHILE THE KEY WILL THEN BE ALLOWED TO TURN OFF AND RELEASE. POSSIBLE FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH?? *TR
UPON TURNING THE FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE ENGAGED UNKNOWN TO ME AT THE TIME BECAUSE THE SELECTOR SWITCH DID NOT INDICATE THIS.THE TRUCK BECAME DIFFICULT IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN AT LOW SPEEDS AS THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE A LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL IN THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE MODE. WHILE TURNING THE TIRES ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE TURN MAKE A LARGER RADIUS THAN DO THE INNER TIRES.WITHOUT ANY SLIP THE VEHICLE TRIES TO MAINTAIN THE SAME LINEAR FOOTAGE TRAVEL BY EACH TIRE. THIS CAUSES THE TIRES TO BIND LOCK UP AND SKID DURING TURNS. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM ON INTERNET FORUMS AND IT SEEMS TO BE A QUITE COMMON OCCURRENCE AND COULD CAUSE CRASHES WHILE TURNING. I HAVE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURE AND THE RESPONSE WAS FOR ME TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER AND PAY FOR THEM TO LOOK AT IT. I DECLINED THEIR SUGGESTION AND OFFERED THE COMPROMISE OF TAKING IT TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AT MY OWN COST,TO WHICH THEY DECLINED. PLEASE NOTE I DID NOT ASK THEM TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE AT THEIR COST BUT ONLY WANTED THEM TO EXAMINE THE VEHICLE FOR DEFECTIVE DESIGN/MATERIAL. *TR
SINCE GETTING MY CAR ABOUT 4 MOS AGO, THE STABILITRAK SERVICE LIGHT & INDICATOR LIGHTS WOULD COME ON, AND IT PUT THE BRAKE ON BY ITS SELF, THE FIRST TIME IT DID THIS, IT SCARED ME BECAUSE I WAS GOING ABOUT 40 MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE BRAKE ALMOST STOPPED ME, IT HAS DONE THIS 2 OR 3 TIMES A WEEK SINCE, I TALKED TO THE CHEVY SERVICE DEPT., AND THEY SAID IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AS LONG AS I WAS CAREFUL, UNTIL I COULD GET IT CHECKED OUT, I DIDN'T HAVE $80 AN HR., TO DO THAT. ON 04/28/14, ABOUT 10PM WHILE DRIVING ON WET ROAD, IT HAPPENED AGAIN, GOING AROUND A SLIGHT CURVE, IT PUT THE BRAKE ON BY ITS SELF, CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO GO INTO A SKID, IT WENT OFF THE ROAD AND ROLLED OVER SEVERAL TIMES, ITS A TOTAL LOSS, THANK GOD NO ONE GOT HURT. THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS KIND OF EQUIPMENT ON VEHICLES THAT DOES THIS KIND OF THING. I HOPE THEY WILL FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED. *JS
LAST YEAR, I WAS PULLED OVER BY A POLICE OFFICER FOR A BURNED OUT HEADLAMP. I HAD IT REPLACED AND IT BURNED OUT AGAIN ON MY 2006 TRAILBLAZER. THE MECHANIC WHO LOOKED INTO THE ISSUE TOLD ME IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR MANY GM VEHICLES, NAMELY AN ISSUE WITH THE HEADLAMP DRIVER MODULE. I SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO HAVE THIS FIXED. I NOW SEE THAT THE THERE IS A RECALL FOR CERTAIN GM MODELS - INCLUDING SOME 06 TRAILBLAZERS. HOWEVER, CHEVROLET TELLS ME MY VIN # IS NOT INCLUDED. OBVIOUSLY, IT IS AN ISSUE & MORE VEHICLES SHOULD BE INCLUDED. *TR
MY LIGHTS STARTED GOING OUT QUITE A WHILE AGO, FOR NO REASON AT ALL. WHEN IT FIRST STARTED THEY WOULD GO OUT FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, AND AS TIME WENT ON I HAD TO REVERT TO USING MY HIGH BEAMS, BECAUSE AFTER CHANGING 3 SWITCHES, PUTTING NEW LIGHTS IN, HAVING THE WIRING INSPECTED WIRE BY WIRE, (IN SURCH OF A BAD WIRE). THE LOW BEAMS MIGHT COME ON FOR ABOUT 10-15 SECONDS WHEN I FIRST START MY ENGINE, (MIGHT) EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, AND THEN THAT GO OFF AND I'M BACK TO USING THE HIGH BEAMS. I HAD TO ADJUST MY HIGH BEAMS DOWN SO I'M ABLE TO HAVE LIGHTS, WITHOUT BLINDING ON COMING TRAFFIC. THAT MEANS I DON'T HAVE ANY "HIGH BEAMS" WHEN I NEED THEM. MY VIN IS NOT IN THE RECALL, YET MY LIGHTS ARE DOING WHAT MANY OTHERS HAVE BEEN DOING. I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS IF NOT LONGER. AND IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I'M DRIVING STRAIGHT, TURNING A CORNER OR JUST SITTING STILL, IF THE LIGHTS WANT TO TURN OFF OR COME BACK ON THEY'LL DO WHAT THEY WANT, WHENEVER THEY WANT. THE LIGHTS DID NOT WORK FOR OVER 4 MONTHS, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY'RE COMING ON AGAIN FOR A FEW MOMENTS. THEY STARTED COMING ON AS I'M COMING INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND TURNING OFF MY HIGH BEAMS. BUT AGAIN JUST FOR A FEW MOMENTS. IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW FAST OR SLOW I'M GOING IT HAPPENS FROM ZERO TO 70+.
I HAVE BOUGHT 2 NEW BATTERIES WITH IN A MONTH OF EACH OTHER DUE TO MY BATTERY BEING DEAD OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I WAS TOLD MY ALTERNATOR WAS FINE ONLY THAT SOMETHING KEEPS DRAINING THE LIFE OUT OF MY BATTERY.THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS. IF I LET THE TRAILBLAZER SIT FOR 1 TO 2 DAYS THE BATTERY IS DEAD AGAIN.I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE FACE OF MY RADIO HAS STARTED TO GET HOT. WHEN WE FIRST HAD AUTO ZONE CHANGE THE BATTERY WE NOTICED THAT IT CAUSED OUR AIR VENTS TO STOP WORKING. I LOOKED THIS UP ON LINE AND IT LOOKS LIKE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS THIS PROBLEM. I SEE IT'S A BIG PROBLEM.I DON'T KNOW IF THERE IS A RECALL , BUT I'M SCARED IT IS A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT COULD HURT ME AND MY 4 KIDS IF IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING. ON MY 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LT MY GAS GAUGE SHOWS I HAVE AN EMPTY TANK OF GAS AT ALL TIMES EVEN IMMEDIATELY AFTER FILLING UP THE TANK. THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO RUN OUT OF GAS FOUR TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY WITH NO RESTART. IN BOTH OF THIS INSTANCES I HAD TO WALK ON THE HIGHWAY AND OFF AN EXIT TO FILL UP A GAS TANK AND THEN WALK BACK, ONE TIME BEING AT 02:00 AM. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS CONSIDERING I COULD BE HIT BY A CAR ON THE HIGHWAY OR STALL WHERE A BREAKDOWN LANE IS UNAVAILABLE AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE TANK WILL NEVER READ ANYTHING ELSE THEN EMPTY WITH THE GAS LIGHT ON AS WELL. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNINGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,886 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
THE LOW BEAM RELAY SWITCH WENT OUT WHICH MADE MY HEADLIGHTS TOTALLY GO OUT. NO ONE COULD SEE ME AND I COULD NOT SEE THE ROAD. *TR

WINDSHIELD WIPER WILL NOT TURN OFF EVEN WHEN THE SWITCH IS OFF. ALL WASHER FLUID IS DISPENSED AND THE WIPERS WILL KEEP GOING. *TR
THE WIPERS STARTED ACTING UNPREDICTABLE, WITH THE WASHER FLUID SPRAYING ALL OVER. YOU COULD NOT CONTROL WHEN THE WIPERS WOULD TURN ON OR OFF, THE SPEED THEY WOULD GO, AND THE WASHER FLUID WOULD SPRAY AT RANDOM TIMES. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS FOR THE TRAILBLAZER FOR THE 02-03 MODELS -HOWEVER, THIS ISSUE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE RESOLVED IN ANY SATISFACTORY WAY. A SIMPLE INTERNET SEARCH WOULD SATISFY THAT INQUIRY. THIS ITEM SHOULD BE RECALLED AS THERE HAS BEEN A SERVICE ADVISORY ISSUED (SERVICE BULLETIN). I HAVE TO PAY TO GET THE WIPER MOTOR MODULE ASSEMBLY REPLACED FOR SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS AND IT IS DOING THE SAME THING AS THE EARLIER RECALLED WIPER ASSEMBLY. CHEV/GM SEEMS TO KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM GIVEN THE HISTORY. THEY ARE AT LEAST MAKING MONEY FROM ME. THIS IS CLEARLY A PUBLIC SAFETY ISSUE IF IT HAS BEEN RECALLED PREVIOUSLY. *TR
EVERY TIME THAT I STOP AT A STOPLIGHT AND START TO GO, THE OIL PRESSURE DROPS TO ZERO, THE CHECK GAUGES LIGHT COMES ON AND MESSAGE SAYS OIL PRESSURE LOW AND IT CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO ACT UP AND DRIVE EXTREMELY SLOW, SOMETIMES CAUSING IT TO SHUT OFF OR GO INTO SHUT DOWN MODE. I GOOGLED THIS ISSUE TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM THAT CAUSES THIS AND SEEN THAT SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE THIS ISSUE WITH THE TRAILBLAZERS. I SPOKE WITH A GM CERTIFIED MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THE TRAILBLAZER AND SAID ITS EITHER FAULTY WIRING OR OIL SENDING UNIT. THIS ISSUE IS VERY DANGEROUS TO HAVE HAPPEN AND COULD (AND PROBABLY HAS) CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR SOMEONE TO BE STRANDED. WITH SO MANY PEOPLE HAVING THIS ISSUE, THERE IS NO WAY ITS JUST A COINCIDENCE. IN 2014 MY WIFE RECEIVED 3 ERO'S FOR HEADLIGHT BEING OUT, EACH TIME I REPLACED THE BULB AND HAD THE ERO SIGNED OFF. IN THE FIRST OF THIS YEAR WE BECAME AWARE OF THE SAFETY RECALL THAT YOU HAD ISSUED FOR A HEADLIGHT MODULE PROBLEM. SOON THEREAFTER WE RECIEVED THE GM NOTIFICATION ABOUT THE RECALL. MY WIFE IMMEDIATELY MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE LOCAL GM DEALER, HERTRIECH'S IN EASTON MD, THEY CALLED THE FOLLOWING DAY AND CANCELED THE APPOINTMENT ADVISING THAT THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. SINCE THEN MY WIFE HAS BEEN STOPPED 3 MORE TIMES AND ISSUED WARNINGS, EVEN AFTER SHOWING THE OFFICERS THE RECALL LETTER. WE DECIDED TO DO A FOLLOW UP ON THE REPLACEMENT PART AND HERTRIECH HAS STATED THAT THE REPLACEMENT PARTS IS NOT GOING TO BE AVAILABLE FOR UP TO A YEAR. IN THE MEANTIME THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE ARE AT RISK FOR INJURY OR EVEN DEATH IF THE OTHER HEADLIGHT DECIDES TO QUIT WHILE DRIVING ON DARK ROAD AT NIGHT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
TRANSMISSION / SUN SHIELD FAILURE: LEAVING WORK, I PULLED OUT OF THE PARKING LOT ONTO A MAJOR ROAD. I ACCELERATED TO APPROXIMATELY 35-40 MPH AND HEARD A TREMENDOUS LOUD NOISE UNDERNEATH MY CAR AND THE CAR STARTED TO DECELERATE ON IT'S OWN. I IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT I RAN OVER SOMETHING MADE OF STEEL THAT WAS IN THE ROADWAY, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING THERE. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE, ALTHOUGH THE CAR WAS RUNNING, THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD. I CALLED A MECHANIC FRIEND WHO ADVISED ME THAT 2 OF THE 4 GEARS ARE WORKING. IT IS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE I SEE THAT THERE IS A SUN SHIELD / SUN SHELL PROBLEM WITH THESE TRAILBLAZERS (AND ENVOYS, ETC) AND I REALLY THINK THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR A RECALL. IF I HAD BEEN ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, I AM AFRAID OF WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO ME. *TR

ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND NEVER WENT OFF. HAVE HAD IN GARAGE 4 TIMES AND NO ONE ABLE TO FIX. I HAVE HAD EVERY CODE FIXED AND CLEARED BUT LIGHT STILL STAYS ON. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY WHEN THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHT CAME ON AND I LOST ACCELERATION & POWER. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC AT THIS POINT. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AT A VERY LOW SPEED THE REMAINING QUARTER OF A MILE INTO MY WORK PLACE PARKING LOT. WHEN I PULLED INTO THE PARKING LOT AND CAME TO A STOP MY CAR ACCELERATED AND ALMOST HIT A WALL. I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT IS A THROTTLE BODY ERROR, AND THAT GM IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT! THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. WIPER ENGAGES WITH WASHER FLUID SPRAYING AT ANY TIME . WHEN FIRST START WIPERS COME ON WITH FLUID SPRAYING NO INTERMITENT SETTINGS WIPER STOPS AND STARTS AT ALL TIMES. FUEL GAUGE STOP WORKING WITH FULL TANK. NOW IT DOES NOT WORK. DOOR LOCK ON DRIVER SIDE NOT FUNCTIONING. LOCKS WOULD START WHEN VEHICLE SITTING IN DRIVEWAY NOT RUNNING. MY CAR WAS IN GARAGE WARMING UP ON A COLD DAY. AFTER ABOUT 1 MIN. IT STOPPED IDLING. I WENT OUT TO RESTART THE CAR AND THE KEY WAS IN OFF POSITION. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND LET IT IDLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 MIN. I THEN BACKED OUT OF GARAGE AND PROCEEDED DOWN A HILL TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. MY SPEED AT THE TURN WAS 15 MPH. AFTER I MADE THE TURN, THE ENGINE QUIT. I WAS ABLE TO BRING IT TO A SAFE STOP. THE KEY AGAIN WAS IN THE OFF POSITION. I RETRIED TO START THE CAR, BUT THERE WAS NO SOUND. I CALLED MY MECHANIC AND HE SAID TO HAVE IT TOWED. I TRIED ONE MORE TIME AND IT STARTED. I DROVE APPROXIMATELY 5 MILES TO HIS SHOP AND WHEN I PULLED UP IN FRONT OF THE GARAGE DOORS, THE ENGINE QUIT. WE COULD NOT GET IT RESTARTED. HE PLACED THE HAND HELD COMPUTER ANALYZER AND DETERMINED IT WAS IGNITION SWITCH WHICH HE REPLACED. COST WITH LABOR WAS $147.00. *TR
HAD VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS NOW. I DRIVE MOSTLY AT NIGHT. HEADLIGHTS CUT OFF AT RANDOM TIMES. COME BACK ON RANDOMLY. WHEN THEY TURN OFF I IMMEDIATELY TURN HIGHBEAMS ON. THEY ALWAYS WORK. BEEN DOING THIS SINCE I'VE OWNED IT.

AFTER PUTTING FUEL IN MY TANK, I STARTED TO PULL OUT OF THE GAS STATION AND NOTICED MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND MY FUEL GAUGE WAS BOUNCING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN EMPTY AND FULL. THIS WENT ON FOR THE ENTIRE DAY AS I WAS RUNNING ERRANDS. THEN THE GAUGE DROPPED TO EMPTY AND STAYED THERE AS WELL AS MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYING ON. THE NEXT DAY THE GAUGE STAYED AT EMPTY AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON. I STOPPED BY MY MECHANIC TO HAVE THEM CHECK AND SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON AND EXPLAINED TO THEM WHAT HAD HAPPENED THE DAY BEFORE. THEY CHECK THE CODE AND FOUND THAT IT WAS THE FUEL SENSOR AND RIGHT AFTER THEY CHECKED THE CODE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OUT AND THE FUEL GAUGE WENT TO FULL. THEY TOLD ME TO KEEP AN EYE ON IT AND LET THEM KNOW IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE IT. I CLOSELY WATCHED THE FUEL GAUGE AND NOTICED THAT MY FUEL GAUGE WAS NOT MOVING EVEN AFTER DRIVING OVER 100 MILES IT WAS STILL SHOWING FULL. AT THIS TIME I STARTED LOGGING THE MILEAGE EACH WEEK I FILLED MY TANK AS I WAS CONCERNED THAT I WOULD RUN OUT OF FUEL BECAUSE THE FUEL GAUGE WAS NOT REGISTERING CORRECTLY. THIS CONTINUED EVERY WEEK FOR MONTHS. THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE FUEL GAUGE STARTED DOING THIS MORE OFTEN DURING THE WEEK. SO I BROUGHT IT BACK TO MY MECHANIC AND HAD THE FUEL SENSOR REPLACED. SINCE THEN WITH ALL THE RECALLS THAT HAVE BEEN HAPPENING I DECIDED TO SEE IF MY VEHICLE WAS PART OF ANY OF THE RECALLS THAT WERE GOING ON AND NOTICED THE COMPLAINTS ON THE FUEL SENSOR. I SAW THAT THERE MAY BE A CHANCE THAT I COULD GET REIMBURSED FOR 50 PERCENT OF THE REPAIR WORK THAT I HAD TO HAVE DONE AS THEY WERE NOT DOING A FULL RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. IF THERE IS A CHANCE FOR REIMBURSEMENT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT MY NEXT STEP IS TO START THE PROCESS. *TR
1/2004 LOST ALL POWER MAKING LEFT TURN INTO TRAFFIC. DEALER DIAGNOSED LOSS OF IGNITION VOLTAGE AND REPLACED IGNITION. 9/2015 WARNING LIGHTS APPEARED ON DASH, DEALER DIAGNOSED FOLLOWED PI AND REPLACED IGNITION SWITCH. BOTH REPAIRS TOTALED $574.48 AND GM PAID NOTHING.
