I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER AT THE END OF 2007. SINCE THEN, I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE SERVICE ISSUES WITH THE CAR, MOST NOTABLY A FAULTY FRONT AXLE THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED. IN JANUARY 2009, MY SERVICE 4WD LIGHT CAME ON AND I COULD NOT PUT MY CAR INTO 4WD. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHO COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM AND RETURNED MY CAR TO ME. A WEEK LATER, I WAS DRIVING MY CAR IN THE SNOW IN 4WD, GETTING READY TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY, WHEN THE CAR STALLED AND THE SERVICE 4WD LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHO KEPT MY CAR FOR 3 DAYS AND AGAIN COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. THEY RETURNED MY CAR TO ME AND SAID "YOU PROBABLY GOT SNOW IN YOUR MUFFLER". I DROVE MY CAR IN 4WD PERIODICALLY FOR THE NEXT 19 MONTHS TRUSTING THAT MY CAR WAS SAFE. WHEN THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN AT THE END OF NOV 2010, I TOOK MY CAR TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP WHO TOLD ME I HAD A BAD FRONT AXLE AND 5 BAD GEARS THAT WERE BINDING, AND THAT I COULD NOT DRIVE MY CAR IN 4WD UNTIL THIS WAS REPAIRED. I HAVE ALSO HAD TO HAVE AN O2 SENSOR REPLACED, SEVERAL BODY SYSTEM REPAIRS, AND YESTERDAY MY SERVICE STABILITRACK LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON UNTIL I RESTARTED THE CAR. I HAVE ASKED CHEVY TO BUY BACK MY CAR, AS IT IS CLEAR I HAVE A POORLY MANUFACTURED AND UNSAFE VEHICLE, AND THEY HAVE ONLY OFFERED TO COVER MY BODY SYSTEMS PARTS UNDER WARRANTY. I FEEL UNSAFE IN MY CAR AND I DON' T KNOW WHERE TO TURN FOR HELP. *TR
FUEL SENDER/GAUGE DOES NOT FUNCTION. I BOUGHT THIS 07 TRAILBLAZER BRAND NEW AND IT ONLY HAS 31K MILES. PROBLEM STARTED TO OCCUR AROUND 27K MILES AND THE DEALER ADVISED IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY!!! YOU WOULD THINK WITH 70 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE, CHEVY WOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! VERY DISAPPOINTING. I JUST WISH THAT WAS THE ONLY PROBLEM...TIRE MONITOR DOESN'T WORK, THE A/C ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILED, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD INDICATE INACCURATE FUEL LEVELS. THE DEALER WAS INFORMED AND THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,453. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,000.
THE FUEL TANK SENDER STOPS WORKING WHEN THE FUEL LEVEL IN THE TANK REACHES HALF FULL. IT OCCURS EVERY TIME THE TANK REACHES HALF FULL. *TR
FUEL SENDER FAILS RESULTING IN FALSE REPORT BY FUEL GAUGE AS EMPTY TANK. INCIDENCES STARTED IN DECEMBER 2010, 4 MONTHS AFTER VEHICLE PURCHASE, APPROXIMATELY 17,800 MILES DRIVEN ON VEHICLE, 5,000 BY SECOND OWNER. ENDANGERS DRIVER BY POSSIBILITY OF BECOMING STRANDED BY RUNNING OUT OF GAS. REPAIR, NOT COVERED BY MANUFACTURER, IS PROHIBITIVELY EXPENSIVE, $500+, DUE TO POSSIBLE NEED TO REPLACE MORE THAN JUST SENSOR. INCIDENTS OCCUR DAILY, AS GAUGE SOMETIMES RESETS ON START UP, THEN FAILS WHILE DRIVING, AND SOMETIMES IMMEDIATELY AFTER START UP. WELL DOCUMENTED DEFECT OF FUEL SYSTEM ONLINE AND BY REPAIR SHOPS, CLAIMS OF NO RESPONSIBILITY OF DEFECT BY CHEVROLET/GM. *TR
MY CAR QUIT READING OUT HOW MUCH FUEL I HAD. I HAD TO WRITE DOWN ON A PIECE OF PAPER THE MILES ON THE CAR WHEN I FILLED IT UP IN ORDER TO KEEP TRACK OF WHEN TO PUT GAS IN AGAIN. WITH MY HUSBAND BEING DISABLED THIS WAS NOT GOOD. I TOOK IT TO MY DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANTED CLOSED TO $100.00 JUST TO TELL WHAT EXACTLY WAS THE PROBLEM THEN IF IT WAS WHAT THEY THOUGHT IT WAS IT WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY ANOTHER $600.00 TO FIX IT. I TOOK IT TO A REPUTABLE REPAIR PLACE IT COST $0.00 TO TELL ME THE PROBLEM AND IT COST ME $418.80 TO FIX IT. THE PROBLEM WAS THE FUEL SENSOR WAS NOT REGISTERING THE AMOUNT OF GAS I HAD. THEY HAD TO TAKE THE GAS TANK APART AND REPLACE THAT PLUS THE FUEL PUMP (AS NOW THESE 2 ITEMS ARE BUILT INTO 1). *TR
MY WINDSHIELD CRACKED WHILE DRIVING....NO IMPACT, NO STONE, NO THUD. JUST A CRACK DEVELOPING ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. I WIRITE THIS BECAUSE THE OTHER DAY I STOPPED AT A DUNKIN DONUTS AND JUST HAPPENED TO PARK NEXT TO ANOTHER TRAILBLAZER. WHILE I WAS IN THE STORE, A THIRD TRAILBLAZER PULLED IN NEXT TO ME. WHEN I LEFT THE STORE I SAW THAT ALL THREE TRAILBLZERS HAD CRACKED WINDSHIELDS IN VIRTUALLY THE SAME PLACE???? I ALSO OWN A 2006 CHEVY COBALT....AND GUESS WHAT.......CRACKED WINDSHIELD THIS FALL JUST DRIVING DOWN A STREET. I THINK CHEVROLET WINDSHEILDS NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED FOR THE QUALITY OF GLASS/MATERIAL THAT THEY ARE USING. THANK YOU.
WHEN I START MY VEHICLE, GAS GAUGE RISES TO ACTUAL GAS LEVEL. AFTER 3-4 MINUTES OF DRIVING, GAS GAUGE DROPS TO EMPTY, AND REMAINS UNTIL TRUCK IS RESTARTED. SOMETIMES THE GAUGE WILL RISE TO ONE-HALF TANK, AND STAY AS WELL. ON ONE OCCASION, I WAS STRANDED ON THE INTERSTATE WITH MY 4 YEAR OLD SON AND MY WIFE. THE GAUGE WAS STUCK A HALF TANK, BUT I WAS ACTUALLY OUT OF GAS. 4 HOURS LATER I WAS BACK HOME. ON SOME LEVEL I THINK THAT CONSTITUTES A SAFETY HAZARD. I CALLED MY LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP AND SAID IT WAS MOST LIKELY A FUEL-SENDING UNIT INSIDE THE TANK, AND IT WAS NOT COVERED BY MY POWER-TRAIN WARRANTY. WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE BETWEEN $600-$900 TO REPLACE. RIDICULOUS!!! I HAVE READ HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR ISSUES TO THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL OF MY TRAIL BLAZER. IT IS TIME FOR GM TO ALLOW THESE TO BE REPLACED UNDER THE 100,000 MILE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. THIS MAY NOT QUALIFY AS A SAFETY RECALL, BUT SURELY A DEFECT THAT GM NEEDS TO ADDRESS!!! *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT READ THE PROPER LEVEL. EVEN IF I FILL THE TANK THE GAUGE READS EMPTY. PREVIOUSLY WHEN THE TANK WOULD REACH HALF FULL THE GAUGE WOULD READ ACCURATELY. HOWEVER; EACH TIME I FILLED UP THAT LEVEL WHERE THE GAUGE WOULD BEGIN TO WORK WOULD DECREASE, AND NOW IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. WHEN THERE IS APPROXIMATELY 1/8TH OF A TANK LEFT THE GAUGE WILL READ ERRATICALLY, SOMETIMES SAYING 1/4 FULL OR EMPTY. ALSO, THIS FUEL LEVEL SENSOR HAS TRIGGERED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO REGISTER ON THE DASH, WHEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR TRIGGERING THE CODE AND NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE TRUCK EMISSIONS. *TR
ONE DAY I WAS DRIVING MY TRAILBLAZER AFTER I FILLED IT UP AND A FEW MILES DOWN THE ROAD THE GAS GAUGUE WENT TO EMPTY.IT DOES EVERYTIME TIME I FILL UP IT WILL GOT TO FULL THEN GOES TO EPMTY RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD. BEEN DOING SINCE NOVEMBER 0F 2010 (88,000) AND AS OF MARCH 2011 (94,000) ITS STILL DOING IT. I HAVE TO CALCULATE MY GAS MILAGE. I CALLED COX THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WONT FIX IT FOR FREE THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS AND THERE SHOULD BE. THERE IS HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ONCE IN THE FAST LANE WITH MY 2 YEAR OLD SON AND I RAN OUT OF GAS AND ALMOST GOT HIT BY 2 CARS BEHIND ME. I GOT STRANDED FOR 2 1/2 HOURS TILL I GOT SOMEONE TO BRING ME GAS. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *TR
FRIDAY OCTOBER 29TH 2010, I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AND MY RIM BLEW A HOLE. MY TIRE IS FINE ,BUT I HAVE A HUGE HOLE IN MY RIM. I DIDN'T RUN OVER ANYTHING AND I WAS JUST GETTING ON THE INTERSTATE SO I WAS DOING AROUND 50MPH. IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE THANK GOD OR I WOULD HAVE TAKEN CARS OUT WITH ME. I WAS JUST DRIVING AND I HEARD THIS VERY SCARY,LOUD SOUND AND IT JERKED ME OFF TO THE RIGHT AND I PULLED OVER AND CALLED FOR HELP. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER AND THEY HAVE IN THE 30YEARS HE WORKED THERE EVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT. THE DISTRICT MANAGER OK'D FOR ME TO GET A NEW RIM. MY CONCERN IS I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE WITH THE RIMS. ARE THEY SAFE? I HAVE A FAMILY, WILL THE OTHERS BLOW OUT LIKE THE ONE DID? HOW CAN YOU GUARANTEE ME THEY ARE SAFE?? I WANT 4 DIFFERENT RIMS DUE TO I DON'T FEEL SAFE. *TR
2007 TRAILBLAZER GAS LIGHT COMES ON WHEN FUEL TANK IS FULL. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL DUE TO FACT VEHICLE COULD FAIL ON ROAD IN FREEZING CONDITIONS. LIVES COULD BE IN DANGER FOR FAULTY READING OR FOR ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO IMPROPER SENSOR WORKING. APPARENTLY THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY PEOPLE WITH EVEN 2005-2006 MODELS. IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THERE NEEDS TO BE SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS FOR SAFETY OF THE PUBLIC!!!!!! *TR
2007 TRAILBLAZER FUEL LEVEL SENSOR FAILURE CAUSES MY FUEL GAUGE TO GIVE INCORRECT READING. I WOULD FILL UP THE CAR WITH GAS AND THE GAUGE WOULD GO TO 1/4 TANK OR EMPTY AT TIMES AND THEN BACK TO FULL. I BROUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW AND AT 65,000 MILES THIS ISSUE STARTED. MY EXTENDED WARRANTY ENDED AT 60,000. I RAN OUT OF GAS ONCE BECAUSE THE FUEL LEVEL DISPLAY SHOWED THAT I HAD 1/4 TANK WHEN I WAS ON EMPTY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THERE'S A SHORTAGE IN THE SENSOR AND IT HAS TO BE REPLACED, BUT SINCE MY WARRANTY IS NO LONGER IT WOULD COST OVER $600.00. I KNOW OF 3 OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME SENSOR FAILURE AND AFTER READING REVIEWS ONLINE I BELIEVE CHEVY NEEDS TO RECALL THIS SENSOR. *TR
MY 2007 GM TRAIL BLAZER'S FUEL GAUGE BEGAN TO SHOW AN EMPTY TANK WHEN I WOULD FILL IT UP, AND THEN WHEN I WOULD DRIVE FOR A WHILE, IT WOULD REGISTER FULL. EVENTUALLY THE ENGINE LIGHT STARTED COMING ON AND GOING OFF AT RANDOM. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A GARAGE AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST APPROX. $800.00. I COULD NOT AFFORD THAT, SO I STARTED INQUIRING ABOUT THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL SENDING UNIT. EVENTUALLY I FOUND A WEB SITE WHERE I COULD PURCHASE THE SENDING UNIT FOR APPROX. HALF THE RETAIL PRICE. I ORDERED THE SENDING UNIT, TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A GARAGE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY OTHER PROBLEMS WITH EITHER THE GAUGE NOT REGISTERING PROPERLY OR THE ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON. IF THIS INVESTIGATION BECOMES A RECALL, SINCE I HAVE ALREADY MADE THE REPAIRS, CAN I BE REIMBURSED? I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR RESPONSE WHEN YOUR DECISION IS MADE. THANK YOU. *TR
THE FUEL SENSOR ON MY 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER HAS FAILED. THE SENSOR WOULD FUNCTION WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS REFUELED. HOWEVER, THE DASHBOARD GAUGE WOULD QUICKLY DROP TO "FUEL LEVEL LOW." FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS, THE SENSOR HAS FAILED COMPLETELY AND THE FUEL GAUGE ALWAYS DISPLAYS "FUEL LEVEL LOW." . THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. UNEXPECTEDLY RUNNING OUT OF FUEL AND NOT BEING ABLE TO MONITOR FUEL LEVELS PUTS OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM IN A UNNECESSARY COMPROMISED SAFETY SITUATION. I NOW MONITOR THE LEVEL OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE WITH THE TRIP ODOMETER GAUGE. I KNOW THAT I HAVE TO REFUEL AT AROUND 300 MILES FROM FILL UP. *TR
A COUPLE MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT MY USED SUV I NOTICED THE GAS GAUGE JUMPING AROUND. SOMETIMES IT WOULD READ APPROPRIATE (GUESSING NOW) AND SOMETIMES IT WOULDN'T MOVE OFF 'E'. THE GAUGE JUMPED AROUND FOR A COUPLE WEEKS THEN JUST QUIT WORKING. I HAD TO START KEEPING TRACK OF MY MILEAGE ON PAPER SO I COULD GUESSTIMATE WHEN TO PUT GAS IN. I GOT A QUOTE ON FIXING THIS ISSUE AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST ME BETWEEN $400-$800 TO FIX. I CALLED THE DEALER I BOUGHT SUV FROM AND ASKED THEM IF THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THEY TOLD ME FLAT OUT 'NO'. THEY TOLD ME I COULD BRING IT IN AND HAVE IT FIXED AND PAY FOR IT BUT THEY WOULDN'T STAND BEHIND IT. I WAS ON MY OWN. SINCE I COULDN'T AFFORD TO HAVE IT FIXED I HAD TO DRIVE IT THIS WAY FOR MONTHS, ALWAYS WRITING DOWN MILEAGE AND GAS FILL-UPS. I FINALLY HAD THIS REPAIRED ON 1/11/11 - IT COST ME $379.83 TO GET IT FIXED. I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD'VE BEEN RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS PLACES ABOUT THE '07 TRAILBLAZERS HAVING THIS PROBLEM, ALONG WITH CONFIRMATION FROM THE GARAGE THAT "THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE '07 TRAILBLAZER". THE DEALER I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE FROM WOULDN'T RETURN MY PHONE CALLS OR INQUIRIES ABOUT HOW TO REPORT THE PROBLEM OR ANYTHING, THEY JUST SHRUGGED THEIR SHOULDERS AND DIDN'T CARE AND I HAD ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 3 MONTHS...
FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT REGISTER THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE GAS TANK.
AT APPROXIMATELY 52,000 MILES MY FUEL GAUGE BROKE. IT FIRST BEGAN WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS AT LESS THAN 1/2 TANK I COULD SEE THE NEEDLE DROP TO E IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. NOW, IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE TANK IS FULL OR HALF EMPTY IT ALWAYS REGISTERS ON E. THE LIGHT CONTINUES TO BEEP AND NOW MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON! I CANNOT BELIEVE GM WILL NOT RECALL THE TRAILBLAZER DUE TO THIS ISSUE, THE DEALER SURE DON'T DISCLOSE THIS FAULTY PROBLEM WHEN THEY ARE TRYING TO SALE YOU THE VEHICLE!!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS STOPPED WORKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSE THAT THE CIRCUIT BOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS NOTIFIED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12V206000 (VISIBILITY: POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
FUEL LEVEL SENSOR FAILING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHEN THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE, SHE NOTICED THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED AN INACCURATE READING. THE FAILURE PROGRESSED AND CURRENTLY THE FUEL GAUGE WAS INOPERABLE. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED SPORADICALLY. THE WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT AWARE OF THE DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000. DRIVING 40 MPH IN CITY TRAFFIC, APPROACHING STOPPED TRAFFIC. BRAKES START TO LOCK UP. WHILE COMPLETELY STOPPED THE BRAKES ARE LOCKED, THE PEDAL WILL NOT COMPRESS. WHEN APPLY GAS, THE CAR DOES NOT GO FORWARD. I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURN OFF THE CAR, AND THEN START IT AND PUT BACK INTO DRIVE FOR IT TO WORK. *TR

I OWN A 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND THE GAS METER IN THE BLAZER SAYS IT EMPTY WHEN I JUST FILL IT. NOW WHEN I DRIVE THE LIGHT BEEPS AND STAYS ON. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND I SEE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS THIS TROUBLE WITH MY BLAZER. I CANT BELIEVE THERE WAS NOT A RECALL ON THE SENSOR IN THE GAS TAKE. I CONTACTED MY DEALER I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM AND THEY SAID THAT IT NOT COVERED IN THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY I BOUGHT FOR THE VEHICLE. IT COST OVER $1,000 TO FIX IT. I FEEL THAT IF I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM, I SEE THERE IS ALOT OF PEOPLE WITH THIS CONCERN ABOUT THERE VEHICLE. I DON'T FEEL NOW MY VEHICLE IS SAFE AND IT ONLY HAS 30, 000 MILES ON IT. *TR
FUEL LEVEL SENSOR DOESN'T REGISTER CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL. STALLED IN TRAFFIC IN MIDDLE LANE OF 6 LANE HIGHWAY. CHEVROLET HAS ADMITTED PROBLEM WITH "SOME" VEHICLES. I FEEL THIS IS MORE WIDESPREAD THAN HAS BEEN ADMITTED. CHEVROLET SHOULD RECALL AND REPLACE AT NO COST TO CONSUMER. *TR
FUEL GAGE SENDING UNIT SHOWS THAT THE TANK IS EMPTY WHEN IT IS FULL. IT WILL WORK NORMALLY BETWEEN 3/4 AND 1/2 FULL AND THEN DROP TO EMPTY AND SOUND WARNING CHIMES AS IF IT IS OUT OF FUEL. THIS IS A HUGE ANNOYANCE AND IT IS VERY COMMON. I KNOW 4 INDIVIDUALS THAT OWN TRAIL BLAZERS AND ALL OF THEM HAVE HAD OR ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM. WHEN TALKING TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS PROBLEM THEY TOLD ME THAT IT IS THE NUMBER ONE PROBLEM AMONG TRAILBLAZERS. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH WHEN HE NOTICED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AUTOMATIC SHOULDER BELT RETRACTOR BECAME INOPERABLE. THE SEAT BELT WEBBING WOULD NOT EXTRACT. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHENEVER THE IGNITION KEY WAS TURNED INTO THE ON POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY INFORMED THAT THE SEAT BELT FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNAVAILABLE.
AFTER WE FILL THE GAS TANK, THE NEEDLE WILL GO TO 1/2 FULL THEN AS WE DRIVE FURTHER THE NEEDLE GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN TO EMPTY AND THE EMPTY LIGHT COMES ON. *TR
FUEL GAUGE INCORRECT READINGS RESULTING IN SEVERAL 'OUT OF GAS' SITUATIONS. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON BUSY EXPRESS WAYS, REMOTE RURAL AREAS, ETC. SAFETY ISSUES. VEHICLE ALSO HAS RANDOM WARNING LIGHTS THAT SEEM TO COME AND GO AT WILL.
THE CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER HAS SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON-LINE ABOUT THE FUEL GAUGE NOT OPERATING ACCURATELY AND THE NEED FOR THE FUEL SENDING UNIT NEEDING TO BE REPLACED ON SEVERAL VEHICLES THAT ARE RELATIVELY NEW. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE NUISANCE. I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL VEHICLES IN MY LIFE AND HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE THIS PART IN ANY CAR. I NOW HAVE A 2007 TRAILBLAZER AND HAD TO SPEND ALMOST $600 ON THIS PART. 2WD 2007 TRAILBLAZER SUPER SPORT GOES WIDE OPEN THROTTLE AFTER START UP AND SELECTING REVERSE. THIS IS WITH FOOT ON BRAKE TO SHIFT AND NO THROTTLE APPLIED OR TOUCHED SINCE START UP. VEHICLE WAS IN A PARKING LOT. ENGINE WENT FULL THROTTLE AND SMOKED REAR WHEELS JUST AFTER SELECTING REVERSE. THIS DRAGGED THE FRONT WHEELS BACKWARDS A SHORT DISTANCE WITH THE FRONT BRAKES LOCKED UP. SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL HAD THE ENGINE GO OVER THE 6500 RPM REDLINE IGNORING ALL PCM PROGRAMMED REV LIMITERS. (REV LIMITERS: 4000 RPM IN NEUTRAL AND 6500 RPM IN GEAR.) DEALER FOUND DTC U1017 LOSS OF SERIAL COMMUNICATIONS FOR CLASS 2 DEVICES. I KNOW OF 4 OTHER 2007 TRAILBLAZER SUPER SPORT THAT HAVE RANDOMLY GONE WIDE OPEN THROTTLE. THIS IS AN ADDITIONAL PROBLEM SINCE COMPLAINT NUMBER : 10269455 THROTTLE HANG UP - NOT ALWAYS RETURNING TO IDLE POWER. *TR

FUEL GAUGE READS WHEN TANK IS FULL BUT AS FUEL IS USED GAUGE WILL INTERMITTENTLY GO TO EMPTY AND ALARM WILL SOUND. I CANNOT BE SURE HOW MUCH FUEL IS EVER IN THE TANK. I MUST RELY ON THE ODOMETER READINGS TO APPROXIMATE THE RANGE REMAINING. I FEAR RUNNING OUT OF GAS AND GETTING IN AN ACCIDENT. *TR
FUEL GAUGE FAILURE ON MY 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. FILLING THE FUEL TANK TURNS THE LOW FUEL NOTIFICATION LIGHT AND CHIME OFF FOR ABOUT 50 MILES, THEN THE GAUGE GOES TO "E" AND THE FUEL WARNING LIGHT AND CHIME SOUNDS UNTIL THE TANK IS FILLED AGAIN AND THE PROCESS REPEATS ITSELF. I CURRENTLY USE MY TRIP ODOMETER TO MONITOR THE FUEL LEVEL BUT MY HUSBAND HAS FORGOTTEN TO RESET THE TRIP ODOMETER AND RAN OUT OF FUEL. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS MALFUNCTION THAT SHOULD BE REMEDIED BY THE MANUFACTURER. RUNNING OUT OF FUEL IN THE MIDDLE OF A 60 MPH FREEWAY IS QUITE DANGEROUS AND MAYBE MORE SO THAN RUNNING OUT OF FUEL ON A MOUNTAIN PASS, WHERE IT COULD BE MILES AND HOURS BEFORE HELP ARRIVES. CHEVROLET'S "WEAR & TEAR" EXCUSE IS NONSENSE FOR A POORLY MADE PART. I HAD THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED AT A DEALERSHIP AND CHEVROLET SAID IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY AND THE DEALERSHIP WOULD CHARGE ME IN EXCESS OF $1000 TO FIX THE PROBLEM! *TR

THE FUSE FOR THE WINDOW WAS REPLACED BUT AFTER WARD, THE CONTACT WITNESSES SMOKE COMING FROM THE DOOR IN WHICH THE WINDOW HAD FAILED. THE CONTACT THEN DISCONNECTED THE FUSE ENTIRELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE WIRING FOR THE WINDOW SWITCH WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THIS FAILURE WAS UNDER INVESTIGATION. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT READ PROPERLY. I RESET MY TRIP METER EVERY TIME I GET GAS. SO I NOW THAT WHEN I HIT 300 MILES ITS TIME. WHEN I FILL UP, THE GAUGE GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN PAST E, AND ONCE I HIT ABOUT 50 MILES ON THE TRIP METER, IT RESETS ITSELF AND GOES TO THE APPROPRIATE SPOT. I RAN OUT OF GAS ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE OF THIS. IF I CAN'T AFFORD TO FILL UP THE TANK ($90) A POP, ITS A RISK, AND WITH 2 KIDS, ITS A BIG ONE. *TR

VEHICLE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS COME ON INTERMITTENTLY. FIRST THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT THEN THE TIRE LIGHT. LIGHTS WOULD EITHER COME ON AND STAY ON OR BLINK, THEY WOULD EVENTUALLY GO OFF OR WOULD CLEAR WHEN TRAILBLAZER STARTED. TOOK TO DEALER WHILE UNDER WARRANTY AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A PATCH FOR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND IT WAS CORRECTED, THE NEXT WEEK THE PROBLEM BEGAN AGAIN. RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. A FEW MONTHS LATER, I TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND MENTIONED THAT I WAS STILL HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE LIGHTS, I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A COMPUTER PROBLEM AND THAT IT WOULD COST 400.00 TO FIX. (THE AUTO WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY) I ASKED DEALER WHY THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WHEN CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY BUT CAN FIND SOMETHING NOW. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A DIFFERENT PROBLEM. SMELLS FISHY TO ME. NOW MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND I AM NOT CERTAIN IF IT IS THE PROBLEM WITH THE "COMPUTER CHIP" OR THERE IS A LEGITIMATE PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE WITH 22,000 MILES ON IT AND HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM SINCE DAY ONE. UNTIL I CAN AFFORD TO FIX THIS PROBLEM, I CANNOT BE CERTAIN IF THERE IS A REAL PROBLEM WITH THE TIRES, TRACTION CONTROL OR ENGINE. *TR
AT 45,000 MILES I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE TIERODS REPLACED AND THERE IS STILL SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL ASSEMBLY, BUT THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE SQUEAK IS. IT COULD BE A BEARING I HAVE BEEN TOLD, BUT THEY DON'T KNOW WITHOUT TEARING IT ALL DOWN. 2ND IS THE POWER WINDOW ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IS GETTING SLOWER TO COME UP AND I CAN SMELL WIRES BURNING AT TIMES (ALTHOUGH I AM NOT SURE IF THE 2 ARE RELATED) I HAVE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE "IDLER PULLEY" AT 42,000 MILES.....THIS SEEMS RIDICULOUS AS IT KEEPS TURNING OUT TO BE ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER????? *TR

WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS FULL THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED ZERO AND THE FUEL INDICATOR BELL RANG INDICATING THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF FUEL THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST THAT DID NOT DISPLAY A FAILURE CODE. WHEN THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE, THE FAILURE DID NOT OCCUR. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,800 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,346.
GAS GAUGE DOES NOT READ CORRECTLY. SOMETIMES READS HIGH, SOMETIMES READS LOW, READS EMPTY AFTER FILLING THE TANK. GAUGE SOMETIMES MOVES NOTICABLY WHILE STANDING STILL. DEALER REPLACED THE SENSOR ON THE FUEL LEVEL SENDER AT A COST OF $393.39 - THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM.

AT 58,000 MILES THE GAS GAUGE ON MY 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER STOPPED WORKING. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON, SO I TOOK INTO MY AUTHORIZED CHEVROLET DEALER. THEY CHARGED ME $95.00 DOLLARS AND SAID THAT IT WAS A DIRTY THROTTLE PLATE. A NOTE ON MY RECEIPT SAID THAT A FAULTY GAS GAUGE COULD CAUSE THE LIGHT TO COME ON. THE GAGE FLUCTUATED BETWEEN FULL TO EMPTY FOR AWHILE, BUT NOW IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. I HAVE TO USE MY TRIP ODOMETER SET TO 300 MILES TO ESTIMATE WHEN I HAVE TO FILL UP WITH GAS AGAIN. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION, BECAUSE I NEVER KNOW IF WHEN THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON IF IT IS THE GAS GAUGE OR SOMETHING MORE SERIOUS. IT CAN BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WHEN DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY OR A LONG TRIP. I DID COMPLAIN TO GM ON CASE #[XXX], BUT THEY REFUSED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I THOUGHT IT ODD, BECAUSE I THOUGHT I HAD JUST FILLED UP. I WENT TO FILL UP AND IT ONLY COST $20, SO THEN I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG. GAS GAUGE STAYED AT 1/2 TANK REGARDLESS OF FULL OR EMPTY, THEN GOT STUCK AT 1/4 TANK, NOW STAYS ON EMPTY AT ALL TIMES. I HAVE TO KEEP TRACK OF MILES AND ALWAYS FILL UP (WHICH IS NOT EASY IF THE FUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE). I'VE SINCE RUN OUT OF GAS 3 TIMES. LUCKILY, EITHER TIME, NEITHER OF MY 2 SMALL KIDS WERE IN THE CAR WITH ME. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING, NOT ONLY RUNNING OUT OF GAS, BUT EVEN MORE SO HEARING THAT GM IS ONLY WILLING TO COVER 1/2 OF THE EXPENSE, IF YOU TAKE YOUR TRUCK TO AN ALREADY OVER PRICED DEALERSHIP. *KB

I WAS AT SAMS CLUB FILLING UP MY VEHICLE WHEN THE GAS GAUGE WENT TO EMPTY AND THE LIGHT CAME ON. THE GAS GAUGE THEREAFTER BEGAN FLUCTUATING AND CONTINUES TO DO THE SAME. MOST OF THE TIME IT STARTS OUT SHOWING AN INCONSISTENT READING THEN GOES TO EMPTY. FUEL DESCENDING UNIT GONE BAD. AN INQUIRY ON THE INTERNET REVEALS A LARGE QUANTITY OF TRAILBLAZERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. THE DEALERSHIPS ARE ALSO VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE ISSUE. MY VEHICLE HAD 49,000 MILES AND SOME CHANGE WITH THIS FIRST OCCURRED. CAN YOU IMAGINE RUNNING OUT OF GAS IN A RURAL AREA WITH OR WITHOUT KIDS WITH NO HELP IN SITE, OR EVEN WORSE IN A URBAN HIGH CRIME AREA PASSING THROUGH. GM HAS FAILED TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM DESPITE THE LARGE QUANTITY OF VEHICLES EXHIBITING THIS PROBLEM. I FOUND THE AVERAGE MILEAGE WAS 52,000 WHEN THIS OCCURS. THIS REPAIR IS RATHER COSTLY REQUIRING THE GAS TANK TO BE REMOVED. AT THIS POINT I AM TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH MY MILEAGE, FORTUNATELY FOR ME I DID NOT RUN OUT OF GAS WHEN THIS FIRST OCCURRED. *TR
