MY 2007 TRAILBLAZER WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW. MY GAS LIGHT STAYS ON CONTINUALLY AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON PERIODICALLY. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO THE DEALER TO FIND OUT THAT THE COST OF REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED ON MY WARRANTY. *LN
AT 7:55 A.M. ON THE MORNING OF 12/10/09 IN ST. PAUL, MN, I WENT OUT TO MY 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER (APPROX. 18,000 MILES) AND OPENED THE REAR HATCH (THE ENTIRE DOOR, NOT JUST THE DOOR GLASS) TO REMOVE A SNOW BRUSH. THE TEMPERATURE WAS -5F AND THE WINDCHILL WAS REPORTED AT -20F. AFTER REMOVING THE BRUSH, I BEGAN TO CLOSE THE HATCH WHEN I HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE GLASS BREAKING. AS THE HATCH LATCHED CLOSED, I NOTICED BROKEN GLASS EVERYWHERE AND THE TWO WINDOW STRUTS WERE BROKEN AWAY FROM THE GLASS. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, THE ENTIRE BACK WINDOW WAS BROKEN. IT WAS "SPIDER-WEBBED" AND PIECES OF GLASS WERE SLOWLY SEPARATING ON THEIR OWN. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS EVER HAPPENED TO THIS VEHICLE. LATER THAT DAY, I TOOK THE CAR TO A NEARBY CHEVROLET DEALER. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE DAMAGE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN WINDOW STRUT RODS LOCK UP IN AN EXTENDED POSITION. THEY SAID THAT IF THEY LOCK, IT'S LIKELY TO OCCUR IN THE COLLAPSED POSITION. BUT ONE OF THE MECHANICS TOLD ME THAT HE HAS SEEN INCIDENTS WHERE THE STRUT RODS LOCKED UP IN THE EXTENDED POSITION, BUT HE SAID IT WOULDN'T HAVE CAUSED THE GLASS TO BREAK. I ASKED WHAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM AND NOBODY HAD AN ANSWER FOR ME. I HAD THE GLASS AND STRUTS REPLACED FOR APPROXIMATELY $1,100. IN LOOKING ON THE INTERNET, I FOUND SEVERAL TESTIMONIALS BY PEOPLE WHO HAD VERY SIMILAR INCIDENTS HAPPEN TO THEM (I.E REAR HATCH GLASS SHATTERING) INVOLVING GMC ENVOYS, CHEVY TAHOES AND CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS. SO WHILE THIS MAY BE A RARE INCIDENT, IT'S CERTAINLY NOT A ONE-OF-A-KIND INCIDENT. SO HOW MANY MORE TIMES CAN I EXPECT THIS TO HAPPEN TO ME IF CHEVY IS SAYING IT'S NOT A DESIGN FLAW AND THEY ARE NOT AT FAULT? IF IT WAS CAUSED BY THE COLD WEATHER, IT'S ONLY DECEMBER AND THE WORST TEMPERATURES IN MINNESOTA ARE STILL TWO MONTHS AWAY. *TR
FUEL GAUGE WILL NOT RISE PAST EMPTY INDICATOR. LOW LEVEL FUEL LIGHT IS STUCK ON. TANK HAS A FULL TANK OF FUEL. *TR
THE GAS GAUGE ON MY 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WILL NOT READ ABOVE EMPTY AND THE LIGHT STAYS ON CONSTANTLY. I HAVE SEARCHED SEVERAL ONLINE FORUMS AND FOUND THAT THIS IS APPARENTLY A VERY COMMON PROBLEM THAT GM CHARGES $500 OR MORE TO FIX EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. *TR
I OWN A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER 6 CYLINDER. RECENTLY THE GAS GAUGE BEGIN TO MALFUNCTION SHOWING EMPTY SOMETIMES WHEN IT WAS NOT. WITHIN 2 WEEKS THE GAS GAUGE HAS QUIT WORKING COMPLETELY. NOW TODAY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE RESULT IS THAT I NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE LEFT AND UNLESS I KEEP FILLING IT UP EVERY COUPLE OF DAYS I RISK RUNNING OUT OF GAS. IN RESEARCHING THIS ON THE INTERNET IT APPEARS TO BE A FAULTY FUEL SENDING UNIT AND SCORES OF PEOPLE WHO OWN TRAILBLAZERS FROM 2005 ON ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. *TR
CHEVY VEHICLES HAVE HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH THEIR TPMS (TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM) ON ALL VEHICLE TYPES. THE FAILURE OCCURS AT THE WHEEL ITSELF. ALTHOUGH THIS IS A SAFETY DEVICE, IT HAS TURNED INTO A USELESS PIECE OF EQUIPMENT WHICH NO OWNER CAN AFFORD TO KEEP UP WITH . WHAT HAPPENS IS THAT THE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM AT THE WHEEL IS VERY SENSITIVE AND FAILS QUICKLY. THE AMOUNT OF REPAIR FOR ONE UNIT COSTS APPROXIMATELY $200, AND THAT IS FOR ONE WHEEL. CHEVY SHOULD BE DOING A RECALL ON ALL VEHICLES, THAT HAVE THE TPMS SYSTEM. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT UNIQUE TO ONE VEHICLE, IF YOU DO A GOOGLE SEARCH ON TPMS AND CHEVY OR GM YOU'LL FIND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. AFTER I HAD THE FIRST ONE REPLACED THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT I SHOULDN'T BOTHER BECAUSE IT WILL ONLY FAIL AGAIN. THE DEALER ALSO SAID THAT HE WISHES THAT CHEVY WOULD INSTALL A BETTER SYSTEM, BECAUSE IT WILL ADVISE YOU THAT YOUR TPMS IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY, AND AFTER IT FAILS, DRIVERS WILL IGNORE THE MESSAGE, WHICH IS A LARGER SAFETY ISSUE. I DON'T KNOW HOW THE DOT WOULD ALLOW GM TO CONTINUE TO USE FAULTY PARTS WHICH IS A SAFETY RELATED ITEM. THE CONSUMER SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKES, AND HOPEFULLY A PERSON DOESN'T LOSE THEIR LIFE BEFORE ACTION BY THE DOT. I HOPE TO SEE A RECALL ISSUED SOON. *TR
THE POWER WINDOW CONTROL SHORTED OUT IN THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND CAUSED A FIRE INSIDE THE DOOR. ..UPDATED 04/19/12 *BF *TR
I HAVE ONLY OWNED MY "07" TRAILBLAZER FOR ONE YEAR. PURCHASED IT FROM A DEALER IN AUGUSTA MAINE. TWO THINGS ARE A PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE ALREADY AND ONE OF WHICH SEVERAL HAVE COMPLAINED ON YOUR SITE ABOUT. THE FUEL GAUGE IS NOW DROPPING EVEN WHEN FULL, NOT ALLOWING ME TO KNOW WHEN I HAVE ENOUGH GAS OR POSSIBLY SOMEONE HAS TAPPED INTO MY TANK OVERNIGHT AND HELPED THEMSELVES & THE SECOND IS MY PASSENGER SIDE TIRES ARE WEARING QUITE RAPIDLY. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE INTO BE LOOKED AT AND DISCOVERED MY BALL JOINTS NEED TO BE REPLACED! I WAS QUITE SHOCKED AS AGAIN, I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS VEHICLE 1 YEAR. I AM IN HOPES THAT WHAT IS WRITTEN HERE IS ENOUGH TO DRIVE CHEVY TO A RECALL. I FOUND THIS SITE THROUGH MY INSR. COMPANY AND WILL ALERT MANY TO CHECK IT BEFORE PURCHASING WHAT THEY THINK MAY BE A GREAT VEHICLE. IF I HAD KNOWN, I WOULD HAVE DONE SO MYSELF. *TR
AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN CRASH IMPACT ESTIMATED AT APROX 60 MPH. VEHICLES AIRBAG THAT DID NOT DEPLOY WAS A FRONTAL CRASH. T-BONED ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF MENTIONED VEHICLE. *TR
ON OCTOBER 15, 2010 THE FUEL GAUGE ON MY 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER ABRUPTLY WENT TO EMPTY AFTER FILLING THE TANK FOR A 6 HOUR LONG TRIP. SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE GAUGE READ EMPTY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALER AND TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR REPAIR. FORTUNATELY I HAD THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND IT WAS COVERED. THE TRUCK HAD APPROXIMATELY 31,350 MILES WHEN THIS OCCURRED. EVER SINCE THE REPAIR, THE FUEL GAUGE IS NOT GIVING AN ACCURATE READING. I HAVE NOTICED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN THE GAUGE COULD BE AS MUCH AS A 1/4 TANK DIFFERENT. FOR EXAMPLE, THE GAUGE WOULD READ 3/4 FULL WHEN I PARK AT MY OFFICE. WHEN I LEAVE FOR LUNCH THE GAUGE WILL DISPLAY 1/2 FULL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW WAS OPEN AND THERE WAS AN ODOR OF SMOKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT WHERE THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE DOOR MECHANISM WAS MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE DOOR MECHANISM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000. UPDATED 04/10/12*LJ UPDATED 04/16/12
VEHICLE HAS 31K MILES. A FLAT TIRE OCCURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR REPAIR. THE REPAIR FACILITY INDICATED THAT THEY COULD NOT REPAIR THE TIRE SINCE THE TREAD HAD REACHED THROUGH WEAR BARS. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED WITH CORRECT TIRE PRESSURE AND TIRE ROTATIONS. NO ACCIDENT OR INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED AS A RESULT OF THE INCIDENT BUT THE TIRE WEAR WAS NOT AN ISSUE AT THE LAST SERVICE, AND IF IT WERE NOT FOR THE FLAT TIRE, WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN NOTICED UNTIL THE NEXT SERVICE WHICH WOULD HAVE OCCURRED AFTER THE START OF THE SNOW & ICE SEASON. TIRE WAS ON THE RIGHT REAR. LEFT REAR TIRE ALSO SHOWING CONSIDERABLE WEAR, JUST SHORT OF THE WEAR BARS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING, SHE NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD READ EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED HER THAT THEY WOULD TAKE THE LIABILITY FOR FIFTY PERCENT OF THE REPAIR COSTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000. UPDATED 11/16/11*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE STALLED PERIODICALLY, DUE TO LOW READING OF FUEL AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK. UPDATED 11/18/11
THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR IS NOTORIOUS FOR FAILING ON THESE VEHICLES. CHEVY HAS STARTED A CAMPAIGN TO PAY FOR HALF THE COST OF THE REPAIR. WHILE I'M SURE GM THINKS THIS IS A FAIR OFFER ON THEIR BEHALF, IT DOES NOT GO FAR ENOUGH. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE NOT AN INCONVENIENCE. RUNNING OUT OF FUEL BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH IS IN YOUR TANK CAN CREATE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. GM DESCRIBES THIS PART AS A WEAR ITEM. NO. BRAKE PADS WEAR OUT. WIPER BLADES WEAR OUT. BATTERIES DIE. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CHECKED THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR IN YOUR GAS TANK? WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THIS PARTICULAR PART IS CALLED FAILURE. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL BY GM. *TR
FIRST OCCURRENCE I SMELT BURNING PLASTIC AND SAW SOME SMOKE COMING FROM THE MASTER WINDOW SWITCHES ON THE DRIVERS DOOR. THE SWITCHES FAILED, WINDOWS STOPPED WORKING AND WHEN GETTING THEM REPLACED THE INSIDE SOUND PROOFING WAS BLACK AND BURNT. THE SECOND TIME I DIDN'T SMELL SMOKE BUT THE WINDOWS STOPPED WORKING AND THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR IS BURNT. THE SWITCHES FAILED AND THE DRIVERS DOOR WINDOW STOPPED GOING DOWN. THE SWITCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
NEAR COLLISION BECAUSE OF LOSS OF BRAKE LIGHTS DUE TO BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH MALFUNCTIONING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. HE NOTICED THAT THE POWER STEERING FLUID WAS LEAKING, IT CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL TO MAKE A LOUD NOISE AND LOCK. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AS HE WAS MAKING A TURN. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE DIAGNOSIS LOCATED THE FAILURE TO BE THE RACK AND PINION AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE ESTIMATED COST FOR REPAIR WAS $800.00. HE IS NOT SURE IF THE VEHICLE WILL BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 61000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONSISTENTLY AND THE FUEL SENDING UNIT FAILED. WHENEVER THE CONTACT FILLED THE VEHICLE WITH GAS, THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD REGISTER AN EMPTY READING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RELATED RECALLS AND THE FUEL SENDING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. SHE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
FUEL GAUGE STARTS TO DROP RAPIDLY AFTER DRIVING 100 MILES AFTER A FILL UP THEN THE LOW LEVEL INDICATOR TURNS ON. IF I SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART, THE TANK WILL GO BACK UP TO HALF FULL AND THEN DROP BACK DOWN TO THE LOW LEVEL INDICATOR AFTER 5-10 MINUTES. WHEN FILLING UP THE TANK IT ONLY ALLOWS ME TO PUT IN NO MORE THAN 13 GALLONS. GAUGE IS OBVIOUSLY BROKEN. MY COMPANY HAS A FLEET OF 20 TRAILBLAZERS AND I AM THE 8TH PERSON TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. *TR
CHECK ENGINE LIGHTSTARTED COMING ON, THEN THE STABIL-TRAX AND THE ENGINE DECELERATION LIGHT STARTED COMING ON. WHEN THIS STARTED, THE ENGINE WOULD SHUT DOWN EVERY TIME THE LIGHTS CAME ON.AT FIRST IT WAS AT INTERVALS OF 40 TO 140 MILES. WHENEVER THE ENGINE FIRST STARTED THIS, YOU COULD SHUT THE IGNITION OFF FOR 1-2 MIN. , THEN THE VEHICLE COULD BE STARTED AND DRIVEN UNTIL THE LIGHTS CAME ON. DOTSON CHEVROLET, IN BIG SONNE GAP, VA. ( WHERE WE BOUGHT VEHICLE), HAS HAD THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON FOR 6 WEEKS. THEY HAVE CHANGED THE SENDING UNIT IN THE FUEL TANK, AND THE PCM MODULE ON THE ENGINE SO FAR. AS OF TODAY, 10-19-09 THE VEHICLE IS NOW SHUTTING DOWN AT 8-10 MILES. THEY SAY THEY ARE STILL CHECKING , BUT NOW THEY ARE THINKING THE PROBLEM MAY BE IN THE WIRING. SO FAR, WE HAVE LUCKILY BEEN DRIVING IN LIGHT TRAFFIC, WHERE WE WERE ABLE TO GET OUT TRAFFIC TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. IF THIS PROBLEM OCCURS ON THE INTERSTATE OF IN HEAVY TRAFFIC , IT COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THE DEALER SAYS THE HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH GM ABOUT THE PROBLEM. I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT GM WOULD HAVE TECH PEOPLE, OF ENGINEERS THAT WOULD KNOW WHY THE CODES AND LIGHTS DON'T CORRESPOND WHEN THIS OCCURS, OR WOULD HAVE SOME IDEA WHAT MIGHT CAUSE SUCH A PROBLEM. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE IN OUR 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER STOPPED WORKING 18 MONTHS AGO. THE FUEL GAUGE WILL RANDOMLY OSCILLATE BETWEEN EMPTY AND FULL AS WELL. THIS HAS CAUSED US TO RUN OUT OF FUEL TWICE BECAUSE WE THOUGHT WE HAD ADEQUATE SUPPLY. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 TRAIL BLAZER AND AT 46,000 MILES THE FUEL GAUGE QUITE WORKING CORRECTLY. COULD NEVER TELL HOW MUCH GAS I REALLY HAD IN TANK. NOW AT 50,000 MILES IT STAYS ON EMPTY ALL THE TIME WHEN IT HAS JUST BEEN FILLED UP. *TR

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WHICH I JUST PURCHASED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2008. FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS HERE, I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL GAGE FLUCTUATING ON ME. I JUST PUT A FULL TANK IN 2 DAYS AGO AND IT IS STILL READING PAST FULL. ON OCCASION IT WILL GO ALL THE WAY DOWN TO EMPTY, AND THEN BACK UP TO FULL AND THEN BACK DOWN AGAIN. THIS IS ALL WHEN EITHER RUNNING OR DRIVING WHEN THIS ALL HAPPENS. THIS IS VERY IRRITATING TO ME, CONSIDERING THIS IS OUR ONLY VEHICLE RIGHT NOW. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THIS PROBLEM IS VERY POPULAR IN THE 05-06, BUT NOW I AM HAVING PROBLEMS IN MY 07 AND I HAVE 47,000 MILES ON MINE. I THINK CHEVY SHOULD RECALL THIS. IT'S RIDICULOUS! *TR
I OWN A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATOR REMAINS ILLUMINATED NO MATTER HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THE TANK. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM FLASHED THREE TIMES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL BEFORE THE FUEL LINE FAILED. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND THE CONTACT MANAGED TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER AND TURN IT COMPLETELY OFF. AFTER 15 MINUTES, SHE ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND THEN TURNED IT BACK OFF. SHE RESTARTED THE VEHICLE A FEW TIMES BEFORE DRIVING BACK ON THE FREEWAY. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC, BUT THERE WERE NO FAILURE CODES SHOWING UP ON THE COMPUTER. THE DEALER DISCOVERED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH SHORTED INTERNALLY. THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH, BUT WERE UNABLE TO CONFIRM IF THE VEHICLE IS PERMANENTLY REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 32,000. UPDATED 08/14/09. *LJ THE CONSUMER STATED SINCE THE DEALER REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH, THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO SHUT OFF BECAUSE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM. UPDATED 08/17/09.*JB
MY FUEL GAUGE BEGAN TO MOVE SPORADICALLY. WHEN MY FUEL TANK WAS FULL IT WOULD REGISTER AS EMPTY OR IF I WAS LOW ON GAS IT WOULD REGISTER AS FULL, OR HALF A TANK. EVENTUALLY IT STOPPED WORKING ENTIRELY. I HAD ONE INCIDENT, BECAUSE OF THE GAUGE WORKING INCORRECTLY IN WHICH I DID RUN OUT OF GAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND WAS FORCED TO EXIT. FORTUNATELY I HAD ENOUGH MOMENTUM TO MAKE IT UP THE OFF RAMP SAFELY WITHOUT INCIDENT, AND IT WAS EARLY MORNING SO TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT ENOUGH TO ALLOW AND EASY EXIT. HOWEVER, I HAD TO CALL MY WIFE TO BRING ME GASOLINE TO REFUEL AND MAKE IT TO THE NEAREST GAS STATION. I HAVE BEEN USING MY TRIP ODOMETER TO TRACK MY MILEAGE AND REFUEL ACCORDINGLY. I DID CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP REGARDING THIS ISSUE; THEY INFORMED ME THERE WAS NO RECALL. THEY DID NOT INFORM ME ABOUT THIS SITE OR HOW TO FILE A COMPLAINT. I WAS TOLD THAT WITH PARTS (FUEL SENSOR) AND LABOR IT WOULD BE A $400 REPAIR AND THAT THE ISSUE WAS COMMON. I HAD NO GUARANTEE THE NEW PART WOULD WORK ANY BETTER, AND AFTER SEARCHING ONLINE, FOUND THAT THIS PART FAILS COMMONLY AFTER 50K MILES. I DO NOT WANT TO SPEND $400 EVERY 50,000 MILES, FOR A PART THAT SHOULD LAST THE ENTIRE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE.

I HAVE BEEN HAVING A RECURRING ISSUE WITH THE STEERING ON MY 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. I HAVE HAD 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WHEN THE VEHICLE WILL ONLY MAKE LEFT TURNS. TODAY SPECIFICALLY THE VEHICLE WAS AT AN INTERSECTION AND I WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN WHEN THE VEHICLE RESPONDED BY ONLY WANTING TO TURN TO THE LEFT WHICH WAS A SET-UP FOR A HEAD ON COLLISION. THE VEHICLE WOULD TURN TO THE LEFT BUT WOULD NOT GO PAST THE CENTERED POSITION. IN ORDER FOR THE STEERING TO CORRECT ITSELF, THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE TO BE TURNED OFF AND CONSIDERABLE FORCE PLACED ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO TURN THE VEHICLE TO THE LEFT, THEN THE PRESSURE FORCE WOULD FREE ITSELF AND THE VEHICLE WOULD WORK CORRECTLY. GM HAS TO KNOW OF THIS ISSUE, THIS IS A DEADLY "RACK AND PINION" IN THIS. I ALMOST KILLED A FAMILY TODAY WITH A HEAD ON COLLISION SCENARIO. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD A NUMBER OF ELECTRICAL AND /OR COMPUTER PROBLEMS. THE FIRST SET OF TIRES ON THE VEHICLE WERE WORN OUT BECAUSE THE COMPUTER WOULD SAY THEY HAD LOW PRESSURE, SO WE WOULD FILL THEM AND CHECK THEM WITH THE ONBOARD TIRE PRESSURE, OTHERWISE IT WOULD CONTINUE TO SAY THE TIRES WERE LOW. THE GAS GAUGE GOES FROM FULL TO EMPTY AND BACK AT LEAST 10 TIMES A DAY, THEY SAY AT THE SERVICE DEPT IT'S THE FUEL SENDING SWITCH. SERVICE STABILITRAC WARNING COMES ON AT VARIOUS TIMES. I THINK ALL WARNINGS (LIGHTS AND THROUGH THE COMPUTER SCREEN) HAVE COME ON AT LEAST ONE TIME, SOME WE HAD TO STOP THE CAR AND LOOK UP WHAT THE LIGHT WAS IN THE BOOK. NOW THE IGNITION SWITCH HAS SOMETHING WRONG, THE STEERING WHEEL WILL NOT LOCK WHEN THE CAR IS SHUT OFF AND THE KEY IS REMOVED. THEN THE CAR WON'T START UNLESS YOU WORK THE KEY AND THE SWITCH. TODAY IT STARTED AND THEN QUIT WHEN YOU LET GO OF THE KEY AND IT GOES TO THE RUN POSITION. WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY ON, THERE IS WEIRD NOISE LIKE ELECTRICAL SHORT OR SOMETHING. THERE HAVE BEEN PROBLEMS WITH WINDOW SWITCHES AND REGULATORS.
2007 TRAILBLAZER FUEL SENSOR PROBLEM. CHEVY KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL LEVEL SENSORS, FUEL FROM ANY VENDOR CAUSES THE FUEL SENSOR TO GUM UP WITH SULFUR AND OTHER CHEMICALS MAKING IT STICK AND READ EMPTY MOST OF THE TIME. IT ALSO SENDS A CODE TO THE MONITORING SYSTEM (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT). THIS LIGHT WILL NOT ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO PASS INSPECTION AT ANY TIME. CHEVY KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM DUE TO THE 35 DOLLAR BOTTLE OF CLEANING FLUID THAT WAS ONLY CARRIED BY THE CHEVY ITSELF, THEIR RESPONSE STATES THAT THIS SHOULD CURE THE PROBLEM. I PURCHASED MY 2007 TRAILBLAZER IN AUGUST 2007. STARTING AROUND MARCH 2009, THE GAS GAUGE BEGAN FAILING. I WOULD FILL THE TANK BUT THE GAUGE WOULD ONLY REGISTER HALF A TANK. EVENTUALLY, THE GAUGE COMPLETELY QUIT WORKING AND SITS ON EMPTY ALL OF THE TIME. AS A RESULT OF THIS EQUIPMENT FAILURE/DEFECT, MY VEHICLE DIED ONCE BECAUSE I DID NOT KNOW I WAS OUT OF FUEL. BECAUSE MY VEHICLE HAD JUST GONE OUT OF WARRANTY (50,000 MILES), IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE DEALER AND I COULD NOT AFFORD TO REPLACE THE GAUGE, OR FUEL SENSOR, WHATEVER THE PROBLEM MAY BE. I THEN PLACED A CALL TO ON-STAR AND THEY SAID UNLESS YOU GET STUCK YOU WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO TAKE IT BACK TO NEW YORK FOR REPAIRS , WE WILL SEND YOU A TOW TRUCK AT THAT POINT AND LEFT ME WITH A CAR THAT I DIDN'T KNOW WHETHER THERE WAS GAS INSIDE OR NOT . ON 9/24/08 I WAS INVOLVED IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT WHERE MY 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER'S AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. MY VEHICLE IMPACTED ANOTHER WITH MY ENTIRE FRONT END AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH.
