While driving at various speeds, the check engine light, service stabilitrack, and service traction control warning lights came on. Vehicle went into limp mode. Independent mechanic said ongoing issue with Chevy and carbon build up in the throttle body. It will keep happening due to flawed system. Dealer denied but keeps happening
Vehicle started bucking and shaking when taking off from traffic light. With excessive speed 50-60MPH that followed the bucking. Tried applying both feet by standing on the brakes. Car started to slow down, only to speed back up until, the vehicle could be shut off. Lights on dash were flashing. On such a heavy traveled, congested road, someone could have been killed. My car is scheduled to be looked at by Dealer.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 60 MILES PER HOUR. THE CAR JARRED FORWARD , MADE A POPPING SOUND AND LOST POWER AND THE ENGINE SPEED DROPPED. I GOT OFF THE INTERSTATE THE CAR SHUT DOWN AND WOULD NOT GO. THE STABILITY TRAC CAME ON THE DASH AS WELL AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR ABOUT 15 SECONDS AND THE CAR STARTED AND I DROVE HOME. I LOOKED THIS UP ON YOUTUBE AND FOUND OUT THE CAR DOES NOT KEEP A MEMORY OF THE CODE THE CAR THROWS WHEN THIS HAPPEN. AFTER THE CAR SITS ALL NIGHT IT "RESETS" ITSELF AND THE ENGINE LIGHT GOES OFF. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND I WAS LUCKY IT DID NOT STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE . THIS IS A HUGE SAFE ISSUE I HAUL MY CHILD AND GRANDDAUGHTER IN THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND CHEVY KNOWS ABOUT IT. GET IT FIXED, DO A RECALL. *TR
CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGED AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, AND I ACCELERATED THE CAR UP AN ENTRANCE RAMP ON TO A 65 MPH HIGHWAY (INTERSTATE 40, DURHAM, NC) TO MERGE INTO MODERATE TRAFFIC HEADING WEST. THE CAR THEN BEGAN ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN DESPITE TAKING MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL, AND PROBABLY REACHED 70 MPH. I PUSHED THE BRAKE PEDAL, WHICH SLOWED THE CAR IN A SHUDDERING MANNER, BUT DID NOT DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL, WHICH CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE. BECAUSE OF THE DANGER OF HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF US, I BRAKED AGAIN, WITH A SIMILAR RESULT. TURNING OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL BY PUSHING THE BUTTON ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT. THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY, SO I BRAKED AGAIN AND HELD THEM HARD, WHICH SLOWED THE VEHICLE. ON THIS THIRD TRY, THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED, AND I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT OFF. IT'S NOT BEEN USED SINCE, SO ITS STATUS IS UNKNOWN. NO ACCIDENT AROSE FROM THIS INCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT AT 5-10 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY ACCELERATED CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO A BUILDING. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT FAILED TO ENGAGED PROPERLY. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS CONTACTED AND TOOK VITALS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY NATIONWIDE TO INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE COSMETIC REPAIRS WERE BEING PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE WARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DAMAGE WAS TO THE BUILDING AND FRONT BUMPER. NO DEALER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,700.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle speed unintendedly decelerated to 25 MPH. During the failure the message "Traction Off", "Engine Power Reduce" and "Stabili-trac" were displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who replaced the accelerator pedal sensor on several occasions, but the failure had eventually reoccurred. The vehicle was recently taken to the local dealer who was unable to reproduce the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 67,206.
VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY DECELERATE, WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON AND NOTIFICATIONS THAT TRACTION CONTROL IS OFF, AND STABILITRAK IS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE ONCE WHILE DRIVING (STRAIGHT ON 25MPH ROAD) ONCE-MOST RECENT- WHILE IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT. AFTER FIRST TIME, HAD VEHICLE SERVICED AND HAD A PURGE VALVE REPLACED PER COMPUTER ERROR CODE. VEHICLE IS AWAITING SERVICE AGAIN. TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE, SHUT OFF IS REQUIRED (TWO TIMES) BUT ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 36,000 MILES. WEATHER WAS FAIR BOTH DAYS-OVERCAST, BUT ROADS WERE DRY. VEHICLE HAS BEEN SUBJECT TO A VERY WET SUMMER, PREVIOUSLY A WINTER WITH A LOT OF SALT AND ANTI-SKID TREATMENTS. VEHICLE DOES NOT TRAVEL MUCH OTHER THAN TO MY CHILD'S SCHOOL AND BASIC ERRANDS. ONLY IN MY POSSESSION 2 YEARS AS OF JULY.
I WAS ORIGINALLY IN A PARKING LOT, STOPPED COMPLETELY, THEN PROCEEDED TO GENTLY TURN LEFT IN TO A PARKING SPACE. I BARELY PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR REVVED UP AND TOOK OFF FULL SPEED AHEAD MAKING ME CRASH IN TO A HILL. THE HILL IS A SMALL LANDSCAPE SPACE THAT DIVIDES THE PARKING LOT AND A BUSY 6 LANE STREET. THE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS DAMAGED. I WAS COMPLETELY SHOCKED YET THANKFUL THIS DID NOT HAPPEN IN AN INTERSECTION OR IN TRAFFIC. I HAD THE CAR IMMEDIATELY TOWED TO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP SO THEY CAN ASSESS THE ISSUE AND I DID NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING STARTING IT UP AND DRIVING AGAIN. I TOWED IT TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP I HAD JUST LEFT FROM AS THIS SAME DAY THEY HAD COMPLETED A REPAIR ON THE EMISSIONS SYSTEM. I FILED A CLAIM WITH THE INSURANCE COMPANY. I'M STILL WAITING TO FOR THE VEHICLE INSPECTION REPORT DETAILS.

A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000. IN 1 MONTH 4 INCIDENTS THAT I LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING, 3XS ON MAIN STREET, ONCE ON HIGHWAY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED FOR A MOMENT THEN SHUT OFF. DURING THE LAST 2XS VEHICLE WAS SHAKING. DURING THE 3X, STABILITRAK LIGHTS CAME ON. ALL TIMES, I PULLED OVER (THANKFULLY NO ACCIDENT), SHUT CAR OFF THEN RESTART. UPON 3X DEALERSHIP REPLACED PLUGS AND COILS, THEN HAD 4TH INCIDENT. DEALERSHIP SAYS NO CODES AND CANNOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM. CAR IS GOING BACK IN TODAY FOR ADDITIONAL DIAGNOSTICS. VEHICLE IS LEASED AND JUST GOT TO 1 YEAR AND 12K MILES (130 MILES DEALER PUT ON TRYING TO RECREATE PROBLEM). THIS IS BEYOND DANGEROUS.
