AS I WAS TURNING ONTO ROUTE 32 MY CAR LOST POWER, WAS SHAKING, AND VIBRATING; THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO CAME ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME THE ISSUE IS BEING INVESTIGATED UNDER GENERAL MOTORS AND TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A HAZARD TO MY LIFE AS IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN AT ANY TIME.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR, STRAIGHT, DOWN OUR ROAD AT ABOUT 40 MPH WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTED TO SHUDDER, LOOSE POWER AND THEN THEN ENGINE STALLED (LOST STEERING ABILITY AND ENGINE PROPULSION). IF THIS HAD HAPPENED AT A BUSY INTERSECTION, WHILE MAKING A LEFT HANDE TURN, IT COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL.
AFTER I SHIFT CAR IN TO PARK I GET A WARNING ALARM TO "SHIFT TO PARK". I CONTACTED DEALER AND WAS ADVISED THAT IT WAS OKAY TO DRIVE AND SAFE HOWEVER IT TAKES ME ANYWHERE FROM 2-5 MINTUES TO GET IT TO SHUT OFF OR SOMETIMES I HAVE HAD TO LEAVE IT ON.
MY VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION IS LAGGING. IT SOMETIMES WON'T GO WHEN IN DRIVE AND GIVEN GAS. THE ENGINE WILL REV UP BUT WON'T MOVE. IT SHIFTS HARD AS WELL. THE SHIFT TO PARK INDICATOR COMES ON WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK AND NOT MOVING. THE RADIO SCREEN SOMETIMES WON'T TURN OFF OR ON, LIKE IT'S FROZE. WHEN I TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND ALL POWER IS OFF, I CAN WALK IN THE HOUSE AND ABOUT 4 MINUTES LATER MY RADIO COMES ON BY ITSELF. EVEN IF THE RADIO IS POWERED OFF. THE VOLUME WILL ONLY GO UP TO 32-36, AS FAR AS SOUND, WHILE THE RADIO SCREEN SHOWS 63. IT'S NOT LOUD AT ALL! WHEN I TURN THE VOLUME BUTTON DOWN, THE RADIO INCREASES VOLUME BUT STILL ISN'T AS LOUD AS BEFORE. IT HAS LESS THAN 30,000 MILES ON IT AND IT'S VERY UPSETTING. I'VE ALREADY HAD TO PUT IN THE SHOP TO REPLACE ONE FAULTY PART ALREADY.
ISSUE 1 WHEN YOU STOP DRIVING THE TRAVERSE, PLACE IT IN PARK AND HIT THE BUTTON TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE, IT WILL SHUT OFF THE ENGINE BUT NOT THE ELECTRONICS. THE CAR DISPLAYS 'ACTION REQUIRED SHIFT TO PARK' EVEN THOUGH THE SHIFTER IS IN PARK WITH THE RED P LIT UP. YOU CANNOT TURN OFF THE VEHICLE UNTIL YOU REPEATEDLY START THE VEHICLE, PLACE IT IN DRIVE THEN BACK TO PARK. EVENTUALLY IT WILL WORK CORRECTLY. IT ALSO SEEMS TO CLEAR IF I SHIFT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO L THEN BACK TO PARK. ISSUE 2 RANDOMLY (BUT OFTEN) WHEN YOU START THE VEHICLE AND SHIFT IT INTO DRIVE THERE IS A LONG DELAY BEFORE THE VEHICLE SHIFTS IN GEAR. YOU SHIFT TO D AND HIT THE GAS AND THE ENGINE REVS LIKE IT'S IN NEUTRAL. LOOKING AT THE DISPLAY THE D KEEPS FLASHING THEN EVENTUALLY IT WILL STOP FLASHING AND THE VEHICLE WILL GO IN GEAR. THIS IS HAPPENING MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY.
STARTED GETTING A "SHIFT TO PARK" MESSAGE WHEN TRYING TO SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE, EVEN TOUGH THE GEAR SHIFTER SHOWED BEING IN PARK. WHEN THIS OCCURRED, THE MOTOR WOULD TURN OFF, BUT THE ELECTRONICS IN THE CAR WOULD REMAIN ON. KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS VEHICLE USES A SMART KEY WITH PUSH BUTTON IGNITION AND DOOR LOCKS. IF THE BATTERY GOES DEAD, YOU HAVE TO BREAK INTO THE VEHICLE. A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH SHOWED THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM IN THE TRAVERSE. THE SHOP FOREMAN AT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THIS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE. THE GEAR SHIFTER (ALSO ELECTRIC) HAD FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED BY CHEVROLET.
BEGAN 6/19, WITH PROGRESSIVE WORSENING. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PLACED INTO PARK AND SHUT-OFF, A WARNING APPEARS ON THE INFO DISPLAY STATING" SHIFT TO PARK". AT WHICH POINT THE VEHICLE KEEPS ALL LIGHTS ON THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE ILLUMINATED, THE AC STAYS ON, THE RADIO/ENTERTAINMENT DISPLAY STAYS ON, IN ADDITION TO A WARNING BEEP/CHIME THAT IS TYPICAL WHEN THE VEHICLE IS LEFT "ON" AND YOU OPEN THE DOOR. IN OTHER WORDS, OUR VEHICLE STILL THINKS IT IS "ON" AND "IN" GEAR. IN THE BEGINNING IT WOULD TAKE 2-5 TIMES OF TURNING THE VEHICLE BACK ON AND OFF IN ORDER FOR THE WARNING TO GO AWAY AND THE VEHICLE TO SHUT-OFF PROPERLY. NOW, IT WILL NO LONGER SHUT-OFF REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY TIMES THE ENGINE IS RESTARTED AND THE STICK-SHIFT IS MOVED OUT OF PARK & BACK. HAVE RESORTED TO UNPLUGGING THE BATTERY EVERY TIME WE EXIT THE VEHICLE TO KEEP IT FROM BEING DRAINED. THE VEHICLE HAS ALSO NOT RE-STARTED AT ALL(TAKING 15 MINUTES OF RE-ENGAGING THE STARTER BUTTON AT ITS WORST). LEAVING MY WIFE & TODDLERS STUCK IN 100PLUS DEGREE HEAT. WHEN IT DOES NOT RE-START, THE DASH DISPLAY READS THE VEHICLE AT "0 MPH" AND ALLOWS THE GEARS TO BE SHIFTED. THERE ARE NUMEROUS OTHER PEOPLE ONLINE STATING SIMILAR ISSUES. SOME HAVE RESOLVED WITH A CHANGE OF THE SHIFTER MECHANISM, & OTHERS STILL WITH CONTINUED ISSUES AFTER THAT. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THERE IS ONLY 1 PART LEFT IN TOWN, AND THAT IT IS ON BACK-ORDER AND THEY CAN'T GET IT FROM THE MANUFACTURER(THEY TRIED THEIR TWO NATIONWIDE WAREHOUSE LOCATIONS). NOT ONLY THAT, THE DEALERSHIP SAID WE NEEDED TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE WITH THEM AND THEY WOULD NOT EVEN "LOOK AT IT" FOR UP TO 1.5 WEEKS, AND THAT THEY WERE OUT OF LOANER VEHICLES. THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, AND WAS PURCHASED CERTIFIED-USED. NOTHING HAS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE OR WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT/STOP-SIGN, BUT WE CERTAINLY DON'T WANT TO FIND OUT WHAT "COULD" HAPPEN.
WHEN I STOP DRIVING AND PUT IN PARK WARNING COMES UP ON DISPLAY "SHIFT TO PARK" IT TAKES A LITTLE BIT TO GET IT TO TURN OFF , BUT IF YOU DONT SEE IT YOU COULD HAVE DEAD BATTERY WHEN GET BACK IN CAR.. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL , GETTING TIRED OF ALWAYS RESHIFTING IT EVERY TIME I TURN CAR OFF,
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN INTO A PARKING LOT, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HAMPTON CHEVROLET (757-325-9604, LOCATED AT 1073 W MERCURY BLVD, HAMPTON, VA 23666) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND FOUND CODES P0014 AND P0024. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE CODES AND ADVISED THE TECHNICIAN TO CLEAR THE CODES AND RETURN THE VEHICLE TO THE CONTACT. THE TECHNICIAN ACTED ACCORDINGLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER AND THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS NO REMEDY FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT INSISTED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,571.
FROM A COMPLETE STOP WHEN STARTING OFF THE FRONT END PULLS TO THE RIGHT TOOK IT TO DEALER THEY SAID ITS NORMAL... GEAR SHIFTER WONT STAY IN PARK..HAVE TO START AND STOP SEVERAL TIME.. WHEN PULLING OFF CAR FILLS LIKE ITS SHAKING AND SHUDDERING..
SLOWED DOWN FOR STOP LIGHT AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE AND ENGINE, TRANSMISSION AND ACCELERATOR FELT DISENGAGED, ENGINE BACKFIRED, CAR HESITATED AND JOLTED FELT TRANSMISSION DISENGAGED. THIS WAS ON A STREET.
DRIVING LATE AT NIGHT WITH FAMILY DOWN A STATE HIGHWAY/CITY STREET WITH SOME STOPLIGHTS AND ROTARY, VEHICLE SUDDENLY SEEMS TO BE INTERMITTENTLY LOSING POWER OR TRANSMISSION SLIPPING WHEN DRIVING. WHEN GIVING GAS ENTERING ROTARY, INTERMITTENT SLIPPING/POWER LOSS (LIKE A SKIPPING POWER/SLIPPING TRANSMISSION) WORSENED - FELT GREATER LOSS OF POWER AND FOR SLIGHTLY LONGER PERIODS. NOTED ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WORSENING INTERMITTENT POWER FAILURE/SLIPPING/HESITATION/JERKING CONTINUED WHEN GIVING GAS TO ENGINE FOR ~1/4 MILE UNTIL PULLED INTO SHOPPING MALL PARKING LOT. FELT LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO REACH LOT, CALLED FOR FLATBED TOW TO DEALER. DEALER HAD VEHICLE FOR 1 WEEK, AND WHEN ASSESSMENT COMPLETE, REPORTED DTC P0011, P0014, P0021 AND P0024 CAM CODES. THEY VISUALLY INSPECTED WITH NO CONCERNS, TEST ACTUATOR SYSTEM OPERATING. SEARCH FOR BULLETINS REVEALED DOCUMENT 5251270 WITH NO REPAIR YET FOR ANOMALY, WHICH DESCRIBES "SOME CUSTOMERS MAY COMMENT THAT THE SES [SERVICE ENGINE SOON] LAMP IS ILLUMINATED. THIS LAMP MAY HAVE COME ON BY ITSELF OR IN SOME CASES, THE CUSTOMER MAY EXPERIENCE DRIVABILITY ISSUES SUCH AS A STALL, LURCH, STUMBLE, HESITATION OR POWER LOSS AFTER AN AUTO STOP/RESTART." NOTES TECHNICIAN MAY FIND THE ABOVE LISTED CODES. CAUSE IS LISTED AS "A SOFTWARE ANOMALY THAT ALLOWS THE 'VERIFY SYNC' STATUS TO NOT RESTART AND REACH FULL 'SYNC' WHEN THE ENGINE RESTARTS. THE ECM THEN REPORTS ACTUAL CAM POSITIONS AS '0' WHILE IT CONTINUES TO COMMAND THE ACTUATORS TO MOVE RESULTING IN ENGINE ROUGHNESS AND/OR DRIVABILITY CONCERNS (AS STATED ABOVE) WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF SETTING MULTIPLE CAM PHASER PERFORMANCE DTCS." INSTRUCTIONS ON THE BULLETIN ARE TO CHECK AND CLEAR CODES AND RETURN VEHICLE TO CUSTOMER. BULLETIN CREATED ON 5/7/2018 WITH 5 UPDATES SINCE. BROUGHT VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER DUE TO CONCERNS OF LACK OF FIX AND SAFETY WHEN RECURS, DEALER UNABLE TO REPLICATE.
I HAD STOPPED FOR A RED LIGHT ON A CITY STREET. THE AUTO STOP WAS ON (STOPS THE ENGINE IDLING) AND WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO GO AFTER THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I WOULD PRESS THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR WOULD LURCH FORWARD, THEN DO NOTHING, LURCH FORWARD, THEN NOTHING AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I GOT IT INTO THE NEAREST PARKING LOT AND TURNED IT OFF. I RESTARTED THE CAR, THE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON AND THEN I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT THE CAR, SAID IT WAS A "KNOWN ISSUE" IN CARS OF THIS MAKE AND MODEL YEAR, BUT THEY DIDN'T HAVE A FIX FOR IT YET. THEY TOLD ME THEY CLEARED THE ERROR CODES AND TO KEEP DRIVING IT AND LET THEM KNOW WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I SAID I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT IT DOING AGAIN AND ME POSSIBLY BEING HIT BY SOMEONE WHO EXPECTED MY CAR TO MOVE AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID MY OTHER CHOICE WAS NOT TO DRIVE IT UNTIL THE SOFTWARE FIX WAS AVAILABLE; HOWEVER, THEY COULD PROVIDE NO TIMEFRAME ON WHEN OR IF A FIX WOULD BE AVAILABLE.
CAR HAD ABOUT 10000 MILES AND IN TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS HAS STALLED, STEERING WHEEL HAD STOP WORKING, COULDN'T STEER, CAR TURNS OFF WHEN STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, ALRMS GO OFF AND DEALER JUST SAYS THEY CAN ONLY REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER, NO REPAIRS AVAILABLE. ON A THIRD TIME BRAKING SYSTEM ALARMS WENT OFF AND DEALER HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKING SYSTEM. VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS FAILED WHILE IN MOTION. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE IF SOMEONE GETS HURT BECAUSE THIS CAR DOES NOT FUNCTION AS IT SHOULD.
WHEN PUTTING THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK THE CARS COMPUTER SAYS IT IS NOT IN PARK (SHIFT TO PARK) COMES ON THE SCREEN AND ALL THE CARS SYSTEMS STAY ON. THEY ATTEMPTED TO FIX UNDER WARRANTY BUT STILL HAS A PROBLEM AND NOW THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR IT.
TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON, CAR STARTED EXCESSIVELY JERKING AND STALLING (VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET WHILE TURNING AND DRIVING STRAIGHT) TOOK INTO DEALERSHIP AND SAID GM DOES NOT HAVE A 'FIX' FOR THIS PROBLEM AND IT'S CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION. THERE ARE 'CONCERNS WITH ALL 4 OR PAIRS OF CAMSHAFT POSITION SYSTEM PERFORMANCE DCTS P0011 P0014 P0021 AND P0024. DEALERSHIP CLEARED CODES AND WE WERE TOLD 'CHANCES ARE IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN'
ON A NORMAL SUNNY AFTERNOON AFTER ABOUT DRIVING FOR 20 OR SO MILES, WE WERE APPROACHING A RED LIGHT IN A LINE OF TRAFFIC AT A BUSY INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE APPEARED TO START SLIGHTLY JERKING AS I WAS COMING TO A STOP. ONCE STOPPED THE STOP/START FUNCTION OPERATED. UPON RELEASING THE BRAKE TO ACCELERATE THRU THE INTERSECTION THE VEHICLE STARTED JERKING AND LURCHING UNCONTROLLABLY THEN SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT DARK. I COULD NOT GET THE CAR OUT OF THE LINE OF HEAVY TRAFFIC, I HAD TO PUT IT IN PARK RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND TRY THE START BUTTON. THANKFULLY THE VEHICLE STARTED, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON BUT THE VEHICLE APPEARED TO BE RUNNING NORMAL AGAIN AND WE WERE ABLE TO PROCEED. THIS WAS VERY UPSETTING AND DANGEROUS AS IT OCCURRED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AT AN INTERSECTION. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY (I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED 2 WEEKS PRIOR, THIS WAS ONLY MY 2ND TIME DRIVING IT AND I HAD ONLY PUT 70 MILES ON IT IN THE 2 WEEKS I HAD IT). THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS APPROX. 25,600. THE HARD CODE THE DEALER RETRIEVED NOTED A CAMSHAFT SENSOR ISSUE. THE SENSOR WAS NOTREPLACED, I WAS TOLD THAT GM IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND WOULD BE ISSUING A RECALL BUT THEY ARE NOT SURE WHEN. THEY SAID IT WAS A COMPUTER PROGRAM ISSUE. I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR OUR SAFETY WHILE OPERATING THIS VEHICLE AS THEY SAID THE ISSUE MAY OR MAY NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. ONSTAR SENT ME AN EMAIL NOTIFYING ME THAT MY 2018 CHEV TRAVERSE HAD AND ENGINE/TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER ASAP . THANK YOU ONSTAR, I AM VERY AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND IT WAS ALREADY AT THE DEALER BUT I APPRECIATE THAT YOU ALSO RECOGNIZE THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. HOPING GM DOES SOMETHING VERY SOON, THIS IS A $50,000 VEHICLE WITH ONLY 25K MILES ON IT AND IT IS NOT SAFE TO OPERATE UNDER THESE CONDITIONS.
AS I WAS WAITING AT A RED LIGHT AND PROCEEDED TO TO TURN GREEN I PRESSED ON THE GAS TO ACCELERATED AND THE VECHICLE BEGAN TO JERK AND LERCH FORWARD AND WOULD NOT ADVANCE ALMOST AS AS IT WAS LOSING POWER OR NOT RESPODING TO THE GAS PEDAL. VERY SCARY IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. I HAVE TAKEN MY SUV IN SEVERAL TIMES NOW FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE IS NOW REPAIR YET ISSUED BY GM. I PURCHASED MY CAR IN SEPT 2018 AND STARTED HAVING ISSUED JUST MONTHS AFTER. THIS IS SCARY AND UNSAFE.
IN EARLY APRIL 2019, APPROXIMATELY THE FIRST WEEK OF APRIL, I WAS DRIVING THE TRAVERSE ON A HILL AND STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I ATTEMPTED TO STEP ON THE GAS AND PULL FORWARD, BUT THE CAR ROLLED BACKWARDS. I LOOKED DOWN TO SEE IF I WAS IN REVERSE, BUT THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE. THIS SPECIFIC INCIDENT OCCURRED A TOTAL OF TWO TIMES. ON APRIL 23, 2019 AROUND 9:40 AM I WAS DRIVING AND MY CAR STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES DURING THIS TRIP. I WAS NOT SURE IF THE CAR WAS GOING TO MAKE IT TO MY FINAL DESTINATION. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. ON APRIL 24, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THE CAR SHOWED 4 'CODES'. P0011 'A' CAMSHAFT POSITION ' TIMING OVER-ADVANCED OR SYSTEM PERFORMANCE BANK 1 P0014 'B' CAMSHAFT POSITION ' TIMING OVER-ADVANCED OR SYSTEM PERFORMANCE BANK 1 P0021 'A' CAMSHAFT POSITION ' TIMING OVER-ADVANCED OR SYSTEM PERFORMANCE BANK 2 P0024 'B' CAMSHAFT POSITION ' TIMING OVER-ADVANCED OR SYSTEM PERFORMANCE BANK 2 THESE CODES REPRESENTED A SOFTWARE PROBLEM RELATED TO THE ENGINE. TIM INFORMED ME THAT ACCORDING TO THE GM BULLETIN (PIP5568E OR DOCUMENT ID# 5251270), THE RECOMMENDATION IS TO DELETE THE CODES AND THAT THERE IS NOT A SOFTWARE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM AT THIS TIME. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT BECAUSE OF THE SEVERITY OF THE SYMPTOMS I WAS EXPERIENCING RELATED TO THE CODES HE DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH THE RECOMMENDATION FROM THE GM BULLETIN AND HE WOULD BE ESCALATING THE ISSUE TO THE GM DISTRICT MANAGER. THE ULTIMATE RESULT IS THAT THEY WANT TO DELETE THE CODES AND HAVE ME COME PICK UP THE CAR AS THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO THE ISSUE AT THIS TIME.
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL, IT BROKE OFF. WHILE DRIVING. IN TRAFFIC.
WHILE DRIVING MY TRAVERSE TODAY THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY JERKED TO A STOP WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A RESTAURANT PARKING LOT TWICE, THEN WHILE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE TO THE SUICIDE LANE ON A 4 LANE ROAD THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO OVER REV RED LINING AS IF IT COULDN'T CHANGE GEARS. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND CERTAINLY SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING ON AN AUTOMATIC VEHICLE WITH 16,000 MILES ON IT. COASTED THE VEHICLE INTO AN EMPTY PARKING LOT WHERE PARKING GEAR WAS APPLIED AND VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NOW PRESENT. VEHICLE WAS DROPPED OFF AT DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. WAS INFORMED IT WAS A SOFTWARE ANOMALY AND IS CURRENTLY BEING INVESTIGATED. NO REPAIR, SOFTWARE WAS RESET AND VEHICLE WAS RELEASED
WHILE DRIVING ON FLAT LEVEL SURFACE THE VEHICLE WOULD SPORADICALLY SHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR. I PULLED OVER SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND IT CORRECTED ITSELF. THE NEXT DAY AFTER PUTTING IT INTO DRIVE IT WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF 1ST. I TRIED PUTTING IT IN L AND MANUALLY SHIFTING AND IT STILL WOULDN'T LEAVE 1ST. THIS IS A DIRECT SAFETY ISSUE AS IT DOES THIS WHILE DRIVING. IT JERKS THE VEHICLE AND IF AN INEXPERIENCED DRIVER EXPERIENCES THIS IT WILL BE FATAL.
SPORADIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE DURING OPERATION OF VEHICLE. DURING OPERATION OF VEHICLE A SUDDEN JERK OF THE TRANSMISSION OCCURS AND THE VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO SHIFT GEARS IN TRANSIT. I AM FORCE TO PULL OVER AND STOP VEHICLE IN ORDER TO PROCEDURE. THIS HAS OCCURRED 3 TIMES IN THE PAST 7 MONTHS. DEALER HAS INFORMED ME THAT GM REPORTED THEY ARE UNABLE TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM AT THIS TIME.
FUEL PUMP SHUTS OFF WHEN FILLING AS IF TANK WAS FULL. SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES DURING A FILL UP, SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT OCCUR. DEALER STATED THERE WAS GAS IN THE VENT LINE AND CHARCOAL CANISTER, AND THAT THE TANK HAD TO HAVE BEEN OVERFILLED. DEALER ASK STATED THEY BLEW OUT THE LINES AND CANISTER AS A COURTESY, AND IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, WE WILL BE EXPECTED TO PAY TO REPLACE THE VENT LINE AND CANISTER. WE HAVE NEVER OVER FILLED THE FUEL TANK. AFTER THE PUMP CLICKS OFF WE STOP. IF THERE IS FUEL IN THE VENT LINE AND CANISTER, THERE MUST BE A MISSING/DEFECTIVE PART IN OUR FUEL SYSTEM, EITHER ALLOWING FUEL IN, OR DELAYING FUEL CUTOFF UNTIL IT IS OVERFILLED. I FILLED UP ON 4/28/19, THE FIRST TIME AFTER THE SERVICE, AND THE PUMP STOPPED ERRONEOUSLY 6 TIMES BEFORE FILLING UP THE FINAL 4.5 GALLONS WITHOUT STOPPING UNTIL FULL.

The contact stated that after parking the vehicle and shifting to the park position the message "shift to park" had displayed and the vehicle could not be turned off. After wiggling the shifter the engine eventually was turned off. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the shifter assembly was faulty and needed to be replaced. The shifter assembly was replaced and the failure was remedied but eventually, the failure reoccurred. the vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer was notified of the failure. ON FREEWAY AT 75MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON, EVERY TIME IT GOES UPHILL THERE IS A CONSTANT SURGING FEEL LIKE IT WANTS TO SHIFT FROM 8TH TO 9TH GEAR BUT IT DOESN'T SHIFT DOWN AND KEEPS SURGING. I SUSPECT A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM OR SOMETHING RELATED TO THE COMPUTERS AND HOW THEY DETERMINE WHEN TO SHIFT WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON.
FUEL PUMP FAILED AT 65000 MILES RESULTING IN LOSE OF POWER. ALSO I AM GETTING A METAL SQUEAKING SOUND ALMOST LIKE A BAD PULLEY BEARING FROM UNDER THE HOOD WHEN I ACCELERATE.
WHILE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE ENGINE AUTO STOP ENGAGED AS USUAL. HOWEVER, UPON RELEASING THE BRAKE TO PROCEED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED BUT WOULD NOT RUN PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WOULD LURCH/JERK FORWARD THEN LOSE POWER OVER AND OVER AGAIN. IT FELT LIKE WE WOULD GET WHIPLASHED FROM THE MOVEMENT OF THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE IT OFF OF THE ROAD INTO A PARKING LOT IN ORDER TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP FOR ADVICE. THEY ADVISED TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART IT IN ORDER TO RESET THE SYSTEMS. WHILE THIS RESTORED THE ABILITY TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS REMAINED ON AND THE VEHICLE WILL BE GOING INTO THE DEALERSHIP IN 3 DAYS (THE EARLIEST AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT) TO BE EVALUATED.
ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, ONE WHILE ON A HIGHWAY GOING AROUND 65 MPH. THE OTHER OCCASION WAS WHILE GOING AROUND 45-65 MPH ON A CITY ROAD. THE DISPLAY SCREEN IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER FLASHED ON AND OFF FOR AROUND 10-20 MINUTES. WHILE THE SCREEN WAS FLASHING ON AND OFF, THE BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT CHANGE ANY OF THE MENU SCREENS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT BECAUSE IT WAS A SOFT CODE AND NOT A HARD CODE, THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ABOUT 79 MPH ON I-65 IN TENNESSEE AND ALL THE SUDDEN CAR STOPS WHILE ON THE DRIVE MODE. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS ON MY RIGHT LANE, SO I PULLED OVER TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE. AS A RESULT, THERE WERE THREE MORE FAILURES WITH THE FUEL PUMP THAT WERE CURRENTLY LINKED TO THE ENGINE. THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPAIR THE TUBE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.

THEN I CALLED CUSTOMER CARE TWICE TO MAKE SURE THE INFO I WAS GIVING WAS THE SAME, I HAD EXPLAINED MY PROBLEMS WITH THEM, SHE SAID THERE ARE NO RECALLS UNDER MY VIN# AT THIS TIME, I WENT OVER MY WARRANTY WITH BOTH CUSTOMER REPS, BOTH WERE ACCURATE THAT MY VEHICLE IS STILL COVERED. I ALSO RECEIVED INFO THERE IS A BULLETIN OUT #18-NA-121. CHEVROLET SAID THE RUST IS "OPERATING AS DESIGNED" AND NO REPAIR WOULD BE COMPLETED. THE AREAS ARE INCREASING TO RUST AND I BELIEVE THIS MAY LEAD TO A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE FRAME AND STEERING COMPONENTS.

ALL EVENTS OCCURRED WHILE SUV WAS IN MOTION. ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. TOOK CAR IN FOR SERVICE. THEY SAID NOTHING IS CURRENTLY A REPORTED ISSUE DURING THE DTC STATUS CHECK BUT THERE WAS A "HISTORY" OF "LIN BUS 14 LOST COMMUNICATION WITH DEVICE", AND A FEW REPORTS REGARDING INTAKE CAMSHAFT AND EXHAUST CAMSHAFT ISSUES. HAVE NOT HEARD THE DEALER'S ASSESSMENT YET.

AFTER GETTING THE RECALL DONE ON THE BACK UP CAMERA DONE. ABOUT A FEW WEEKS LATER THE CAR ALARM STARTS GOING OFF RANDOMLY WITH IT ST OR NOT SET AND THE DRIVER MIRRORS DOORS NOT DEFROST. AGAIN I GOT THE OH NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT IT IS FINE HEY STILL ALARM GOES OFF WITH OUR WITH OUT ALARM SET.

DRIVING THIS SUV ON THE ROAD THE INNER LINER UNDER THE FENDER STARTED TO COME DOWN AND RUB ON THE TIRE, SMELLY RUBBER WAS BEING BURNT AS I STOP RIGHT AWAY AND NOTICE THE WEAK CHEAP FABRIC THAT WAS IN-PLACE INSTEAD OF A HARD PLASTIC CAME DOWN ALMOST CAUSING A FIRE HAZARD !! WHAT A CHEAP CAR AND YES TO THOSE WHO OWN THIS CAR OR DRIVE IT YOUR IN DANGER BEWARE! THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE REPLACED ASAP, BEFORE A COUNTER LAWSUIT HAPPENSGM!ALSO IVE NOTICE! IF YOU TURN YOUR WHEEL ALL THE WAY YOUR CV,JOINTS WILL MAKE THIS CLICKING NOISE LIKE THERE READY TO GO OUT ? TOOK IT TO MY DEALER AND THEY SAID GM TOLD THEM TO REPLACE A CREW TO STOP THE NOISE CALLED GM AND ASK THEM BUT THEY SAID NO WE DIDN'T ?
