THE VERY FIRST TIME I USED MY HEADLIGHTS FOR NIGHT DRIVING I WAS TOTALLY AMAZED AT THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE FIELD OF VISION. THERE IS ALMOST A CURTAIN LIKE AFFECT AND DEPENDING ON THE ROAD YOU ARE TRAVELING THERE IS SOMETIMES AS LITTLE AS 20 FEET OF VISION. IT IS ALL BUT IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT SAFELY WITH THIS VEHICLE. IF YOU LIVE ON BACK ROADS (AS I DO) IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THIS CAR IS JUST DAYS OLD AND I CAN ONLY DRIVE IT DURING THE DAY. TAKING IT BACK TO THE DEALER HAS NOT PROVEN TO BE EFFECTIVE. THE COMMENT THAT I GET IS THAT ITS JUST THE WAY THE CAR WAS MANUFACTURED AND THAT'S HOW THE LIGHTS WILL WORK. THESE CARS ARE A HAZARD AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED BECAUSE THEY CAN'T SEE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER PRODUCT AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE THAT WILL LISTEN ABOUT MY CONCERNS. *TR
MY CAR STALLED ON ME ABOUT 3 TIMES IN AUGUST. TWICE WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED AND ONCE WHILE PARKED. I TOOK IT CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING. IT HAPPENED AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER SO I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK TO CHRYSTAL AND WAS ONCE AGAIN TOLD THEY COULD FIND NOTHING. AFTER THAT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 40MPH THE CAR STARTED TO LOSE POWER AND TRACTION CONTROL, EMERGENCY BRAKE AND ABS LIGHT LIT UP AND THE SPEEDOMETER JUST WAVED BACK N FORTH. IT FELT LIKE IT WAS STALLING AND LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER. I TOOK IT BACK TO CHRYSLER AND TOLD THEM ITS VERY DANGEROUS AND I CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR LIKE THAT. THEY THEN CALLED ME SAYING THEY FOUND A LOOSE BATTERY TERMINAL AND TO SEE IF THAT HELPED. NO IT DIDN'T. WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AGAIN THE CAR STARTED TO LOSE POWER AND THEN STOPPED BUT DID NOT STALL. WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS IT MAD A NOISE BUT DID NOT MOVE. I HAD TO SHUT IT OFF AND RESTART IT. I WILL GOING BACK TO CHRYSLER FOR THE FOURTH TIME TO SEE IF THEY WILL FIX THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM. *TR
PROJECTOR TYPE HEAD LAMPS ARE AIMED TOO LOW AND CANNOT BE ADJUSTED AS DESIGNED. ON DARK ROADS PERIPHERAL LIGHTING FROM HEAD LAMPS IS NON EXISTENT. BRIGHTS ARE NEEDED BUT NOT PRACTICAL FOR CONSTANT USE AND IS ILLEGAL IN TOWN AS WELL. THIS IS A REAL DESIGN FLAW AND SOME ONE IS GOING TO GET HURT IN A NIGHT TIME ACCIDENT DUE TO THE POOR DESIGN OF THE LIGHTING SYSTEM ON THIS MODEL. *TR
WITHIN 2 DAYS OF PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE, REAR BRAKES WERE SQUEALING LIKE THEY WOULD DO IF THEY WERE DUE TO BE REPLACED. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY INSPECTED THEM AND TOLD ME "ITS JUST RUST FROM SITTING ON THE LOT AND IT WILL CLEAR UP AFTER YOU DRIVE IT A WHILE", IT CONTINUED AND A COUPLE MONTHS FOLLOWING THE FIRST VISIT I RETURNED WITH THE VEHICLE AND TOLD THEM IT STILL WAS MAKING THE NOISE AND THEY CHECKED IT OUT AGAIN AND SAID "OH, ITS JUST DUST ON THE BRAKES AND IF YOU STEP ON YOUR BRAKES HARD AT ABOUT 40 MPH THAT SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM". HERE WE ARE 2 YEARS LATER AND THE REAR BRAKES STILL MAKE THE SQUEALING NOISE. ABOUT JUNE/JULY OF THIS YEAR TIMEFRAME I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I HAVE ABOUT 5 DIFFERENT SPOTS ON THE HOOD AND GRILL OF THE VEHICLE HAS THE PAINT "BLISTERING" AND RUST UNDERNEATH. THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T CALL ME AND TELL ME WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT SO I CALLED THEM ABOUT A MONTH LATER. THE WARRANTY GUY AT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT CHRYSLER WAS GOING TO "SEND A WHOLE NEW HOOD" WHICH I GUESS DIDN'T MAKE MUCH SENSE TO ME BUT WHATEVER. TO DATE I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THE DEALERSHIP ANY FURTHER ON THIS MATTER AND THE VEHICLE IS NEARING THE LIMITS ON THE WARRANTY PERIOD FOR MILEAGE. THE DEALERSHIP I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH IS JOHN HIRSCH'S MOTORS IN CAMBRIDGE, MN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING BETWEEN 16-22 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS CHANGING GEARS AS IT WAS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VERY DAY THEY PICKED THE VEHICLE UP, IT STALLED IN THE ENTRANCE WAY. THE DEALER CLAIMED, THE VEHICLE RAN OUT OF GAS. AS HER SON DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME, HE NOTICED WHEN COASTING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD KICK BACK. THE MECHANIC STATED THE JERK/KICK WAS FROM THE ENGINE SHIFTING GEARS. THE KICKING WOULD GO AWAY, WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS PRESSED. WHEN HER SON TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT AND THEN STRAIGHTENED IT OUT, BY TURNING THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. HE PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. HE TRIED TO RE-START THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE ENGINE WOULD REV UP TIGHT UNTIL IT WAS ABOUT TO START, BUT WOULD IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, WHERE THEY FOUND A CODE, BUT IT HAD NOTHING TO WITH THE PROBLEM, THAT WAS BEING EXPERIENCED. UPDATED 01/16/13
THIS CAR WAS BOUGHT FOR ADVERTISED MILES PER GALLON (MPG) WAS 31MPG, BUT ON THE HIGHWAY IT IS ONLY GETTING ABOUT 15MPG. THIS CAR IS EITHER DEFECTIVE OR CHRYSLER HAS EMBARKED ON MAJOR FALSE ADVERTISING OR FRAUD CAMPAIGN IN WHICH MILLIONS OF PEOPLE BOUGHT THIS CAR THINKING THEY WOULD GET 31MPG, BUT ARE PAYING TWICE AS MUCH IN GAS INSTEAD OF SAVING MONEY. IF YOU THINK YOU ARE GETTING 31MPG ON HIGHWAY, BUT ONLY GET 15MPG, THAT MEANS YOU RUN OUT OF GAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND AN ACCIDENT CAN OCCUR EITHER WHILE THE CAR IS SLOWING DOWN IN THE LANE, OR AFTER IT IS PUSHED INTO SHOULDER, WHICH IS STILL DANGEROUS. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF REVIEWS ON THE INTERNET WITH SAME PROBLEM - NOT GETTING GAS MILEAGE. PLEASE FORCE CHRYSLER TO TAKE BACK THESE CARS BECAUSE IT IS EITHER FALSE ADVERTISING AND CONSUMER FRAUD FOR ADVERTISING 31MPG, OR DEFECTIVE FOR FAILING TO BE EFFICIENT WITH GAS MILEAGE SINCE THEY ARE NOT GETTING THE PERFORMANCE THESE CARS WERE SUPPOSEDLY MANUFACTURED & DESIGNED FOR. THERE ARE ALSO UNKNOWN PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE. I'M TAKING CAR TO DEALERSHIP TODAY TO INVESTIGATE/SERVICE, BUT I WAS TOLD BY THE SALES MANAGER, THEY WOULD NOT TAKE THE CAR BACK AND GIVE ME A NEW CAR. IT HAS ALL THESE PROBLEMS, COSTING ME MONEY AND POSSIBLE INJURY DUE TO THE PROSPECT OF RUNNING OUT OF GAS SO FREQUENTLY! THE GAS TANK SIZE IS 16.9 GALLONS, SO AT 31MPG, I SHOULD GET CLOSE TO 523 MILES, BUT WE ONLY GET ABOUT 250! WE FILL UP GAS TANK EVERY WEEK, AFTER ONLY DRIVING 36 MILES ROUNDTRIP TO/FROM WORK, MOSTLY ON HIGHWAY. I BELIEVE WE ARE BEING DEFRAUDED BY BEING SOLD DEFECTIVE CARS THAT DO NOT PERFORM AS ADVERTISED, AND WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY AS A RESULT. I SHOULDNT BE STUCK WITH THIS CAR, PAYING EXCESSIVE GAS PRICES DUE TO CONSTANTLY REFILLING A GAS TANK, BECAUSE THIS CAR BURNS UP ALL THE GAS SO FAST! IS IT A DEFECT OR CONSUMER FRAUD? I WANT THIS CAR RECALLED, AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK! *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE ACTIVATED AND FAILED TO SUFFICIENTLY ILLUMINATE THE ROAD AT A DISTANCE OF THIRTY FEET AND OVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER THREE TIMES AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE 2,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE FROM THE SIDE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE FAILURE WOULD AFFECT THE CONTACT'S VISIBILITY OF THE ROADWAY WHEN ATTEMPTING A TURN. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WHEN DRIVING, DECELERATING, OR PARKING AS WELL AS WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE BRAKE WAS DEPRESSED WITH FORCE TO BE ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC BUT WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A FAILURE CODE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 8,000. I FEEL I AM DRIVING MY FUTURE CASKET. WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT IN RURAL AREAS WITH NO ARTIFICIAL LIGHTING I HAVE VERY LIMITED VIEW WITH HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAM. THE DESIGN OF HEADLIGHT IS CAUSING THIS I FEEL. THERE IS A FLIPPER LID THAT RAISES AND LOWERS WITH LOW BEAM AND HIGH BEAM. THE LID DESIGN IS CUTTING THE HIGH OF BEAM OFF AND WHILE DRIVING THERE IS A DEFINITE BLACK OUT VERTICALLY. SO LOW THAT ONE CANNOT SEE MUCH HIGHER THAN THE HOOD OF THE CAR. HIGH BEAM ELIMINATES THIS PROBLEM AS THE FLIPPER LID IS RAISED OUT OF VIEW. THE BULB IS SO FAR SET BACK IN A TUBE THAT ANY HORIZONTAL OR SIDE VIEW IS DIMINISHED GREATLY. CANNOT WATCH FOR DEER. GOING AROUND CURVES THE VIEW IS ALMOST NONE EXISTENT. I HAVE SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES AND SLID SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO THIS AND I AM A VERY CAUTIOUS SLOWER DRIVER. THE ROAD SIGNS ARE CUT OFF FROM THIS BLACKOUT LINE AS WHEN YOU CAN GET WITHIN READING DISTANCE THEN THE SIGNAGE DISAPPEARS AND ALL YOU ARE LEFT WITH IS A VIEW OF BOTTOM OF POLE. GREAT/ SO YOUR ONLY OPTION IS TO DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAM ALL THE TIME AND THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW. ON CARCOMPLAINTS.COM THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE ISSUE CONCERNING SAFETY DUE TO POOR HEADLIGHT DESIGN WITH CHRYSLER 200 2011. I ASKED ABOUT THIS ISSUE AT THE DEALER CONCERNING BULLETINS ON THIS SAFETY ISSUE. THEY SAID NONE. I HAVE LITERALLY BEEN STUCK WITH A UNSAFE NEW VEHICLE AND GETTING MANY ADJUSTMENTS UPWARD THAT HAVE NOT HAD ANY SAFE RESULTS. I HAVE ON MORE TOMORROW. I LOVE ALL THE OTHER FEATURES OF THIS CAR. PLEASE HELP THE OTHER CUSTOMERS BY MAKING CHRYSLER HAVE A SAFETY RECALL. TO REPLACE THESE HEADLIGHTS IMMEDIATELY. I DO NO WANT TO HAVE A CRASH, FIRE, INJURY, OR FATALITY. I DO. *TR
PULLED OFF INTERSTATE AFTER DRIVING FOR 2 HRS. INTO PARKING LOT. STARTED TO PULL INTO PARKING SPACE AND EVERYTHING THING LOCKED UP. NO STEERING, NO BREAKS, EVERYTHING DIED EXCEPT LIGHTS ON DASH. CAR WAS DRIVING FINE WITH NO INDICATION OF PROBLEM. I AM TOLD THAT MY CAR DOES NOT FIT INTO THE RECALL FOR ENGINE FAILURE FOR THIS MODEL. CONCERN WITH SAFETY AS IF I HAD BEEN ON INTERSTATE GOING 70MPH THIS WOULD HAVE CAUSED A BAD ACCIDENT. *TR
CAR IS A 2012 MODEL, PURCHASED THREE DAYS AGO WITH ONLY 10 MILES ON IT. TODAY IT STALLED AS IT WAS IDLING AT RED LIGHT. IT STALLED AS I WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN. IT STALLED AS I WAS TURNING LEFT INTO MY GARAGE TO PARK. I CALLED MY SALESMAN, HE CLAIMS HE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT IT AND REFERRED ME TO THE MANAGER. HE ALSO CLAIMS HE HAS NEVER HEARD OF WHY THIS WOULD HAPPEN. YET I FIND OUT FROM A FRIEND TO SEARCH THE INTERNET. I DO A SEARCH AND SEE MANY ARTICLES FROM TODAY AND OVER THE WEEKEND ON THIS. SO, HOW DOES A DEALER NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS BEFORE SELLING ME THE CAR? CONCERNED ABOUT MY KIDS BEING IN THE CAR WITH ME. *TR
HEAD LAMP PROJECTION ON THE 2012 CHRYSLER 200 IS VERY LIMITED ON LOW BEAM (50 FEET) WHICH IS UNSAFE AND IS GOING TO CAUSE DEATH OR INJURY. THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT AND CANNOT BE CORRECTED BY THE DEALER FOR WHICH 2 ATTEMPTS WERE MADE. IN ADDITION, THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED FOR CORRECTION. THEY STATED THE HEAD LAMPS OPERATE AS INTENDED AND THERE IS NOTHING TO BE DONE. EITHER THE VEHICLE MUST BE DRIVEN VERY SLOWLY SO THAT THE DRIVER CAN REACT TO THE LIMITED PROJECTION FIELD OR HIGH BEAMS MUST BE USED WHICH BLINDS THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND IS ILLEGAL IN MOST CONDITIONS. THERE IS A LID WHICH COVERS THE BULB HALF WAY ON LOW BEAM AND RETRACTS FULLY ON HIGH BEAM. THE LID RESTRICTS ADEQUATE PROJECTION AND ALSO RESTRICTS BEAM PROJECTION TO THE SIDES. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY UNSAFE VEHICLE IN THIS CONDITION FOR NIGHT TIME DRIVING AND SHOULD RECALLED FOR CORRECTION. THE DEALER HAS HAD NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS MODEL, BUT SAYS THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO SINCE THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE A PROBLEM. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS IN YOUR DATA BASE CONCERNING THE SAME PROBLEM AND HAVE SPOKEN TO OTHER OWNERS WHO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. NOT DRIVING THE CAR AT NIGHT OR DRIVING WITH HIGH BEAMS ON IS NOT THE ANSWER. PLEASE GET THE MANUFACTURER TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND FIX THE DESIGN DEFECT IMMEDIATELY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 8 MPH DOWN A HILL IN FIRST GEAR, THE RPMS INCREASED TO APPROXIMATELY 4500 AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN TO APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH EXCESSIVE FORCE AND WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY PLACING IT IN NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000.
THE CAR WILL ALMOST STALL, RANDOMLY, WHEN STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN OR LIGHT. IT HAS NOW STARTED TO ACT LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL WHEN WE START IT. THE CAR HESITATES, RANDOMLY, WHEN YOU GO TO ACCELERATE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US MANY TIMES. ENTERING THE INTERSTATE IT ACTS LIKE IT STUMBLES BEFORE IT WILL RESPOND. WE HAVE PULLED OUT ONTO A BUSY STREET WHERE ACCELERATION IS A NECESSITY AND THE CAR HESITATES AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. MOST RECENTLY, SWITCHING LANES ON THE INTERSTATE WE LIFTED OUR FOOT OFF ACCL. TO ALLOW A CAR TO PASS US WHEN WE WENT TO ACCELERATE AGAIN THE CAR WOULD NOT RESPOND, A CAR CAME UP ON US IN OUR LANE AND ALMOST REAR ENDED US. (THIS WAS ON THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE PROBLEM) THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AND NOTHING WAS RECORDED ON THE COMPUTER. MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE ON CHRYSLER 200 FORUMS. WE HAVE HAD A BLK BOX INSTALLED AND NO FEED BACK FROM DEALER WAS PROVIDED EVEN WHEN REQUESTED IN WRITING AND VERBALLY. WE HAVE AN ATTORNEY, CHRYSLER HAS PUT A LOW VALUE ON THE COMPLAINT AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO SETTLE CASE AT THIS TIME. I HOPE WE DO NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT WHILE COLLECTING DATA! *TR *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND PRESSURE WAS RELEASED FROM THE STEERING WHEEL, THE VEHICLE VEERED SHARPLY TO THE RIGHT. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT WAS HOW THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED. FRONT BRAKE ROTOR KEEPS WARPING AND BRAKES DO NOT WORK WELL UNTIL ROTOR IS REPLACED. CAR WAS LIKE THIS FROM DAY 1, DEALER SAID IT WAS FIXED 3 TIMES BUT IT WASN'T. I HAVE REPLACED ALL FRONT BRAKE PARTS MYSELF 2 TIMES, AND IT IS STILL BAD. CANNOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE ANYWHERE IF THE ROADWAY IS IN A MOUNTAINOUS AREA.05
BOUGHT THE CAR NEW, ON DAY 2 AT AROUND 80 MIIES, THE FRONT BRAKE WARPED THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT ROTOR ,CAR COULD BARELY STOP.TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A FAULTY ROTOR, DEALER REPLACED AT NO CHARGE, APPROX 3 MONTHS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED, THE DEALER REPLACED BOTH FRONT ROTORS AND SAID THAT CHRYSLER HAD A BUNCH OF FAULTY ROTORS. TRIED TO AVOID DRIVING THE CAR ANYWHERE THAT HAD ANY LARGE HILLS OR MOUNTAINS. MOVED TO FLORIDA SHORTLY AFTER THE LAST REPAIR AND THOUGHT THE DEALER HAD ACTUALLY FIXED THE PROBLEM, BUT IN 2016 I WENT BACK TO PA. FOR A VACATION AND THE FIRST TIME I DROVE IN THE MOUNTAINS, I HAD THE SAME BRAKE PROBLEM, I HAD TO AVOID THE MOUNTAINS. GOT HOME, I REPLACED EVERYTHING IN THE FRONT BRAKES BUT THE MASTER CYLINDER AND ABS SYSTEM., THOUGHT THIS TIME IT HAD TO BE FIXED. THEN IN THE FALL OF 2017 WE HAD TO EVACUATE THE STATE OF FLORIDA DUE TO A HURRICANE AND WE WENT TO NORTH CAROLINA TO STAY FOR 5 DAYS. THE FIRST BIG HILL WE ENCOUNTERED ON THE FREEWAY THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED, THE FRONT OF THE CAR VIBRATED BADLY AND THE BRAKES COULDN'T HOLD THE CAR BACK. STILL NOT WORKING PROPERLY VERY WORRIED ABOUT THE BRAKES AND STILL HAVE TO AVOID MOUNTAINOUS AREAS. WAS QUOTED A PRICE OF APPROX. $750-$800 TO FIX. HAVE ALREADY SPENT $350 TO FIX IT.

WHEN CLEANING BACK SEATS WITH VACUUM NOTICED FRAYED FABRIC ON THE SEATS WERE THE STITCHING IS, AS IF THE STITCHES HAD SEVERED THE FABRIC AND IN JUST ABOUT EVERY STITCH ON EVERY SEAT SAME THING TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT ASSESSED AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CONTACT CHRYSLER AND CALL ME. I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR BACK IN FOR PHOTOS TO BE TAKEN AND IT TURNED OUT THEY WERE NOT ADEQUATE (BLACK INTERIOR) SO I WAITED AND WAITED AND CALLED TO SEE WHAT THE HOLD UP WAS AND WAS TOLD CHRYSLER NEEDED BETTER PICTURES.WENT BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND SHOWED THEM EXACTLY WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AND PUSHED ON THE SEAT TO REVEAL THAT INDEED THERE WAS FRAYED MATERIAL.CHRYSLER CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM TO GET PICTURES WITHOUT PUSHING ON THE SEAT, TOOK IT IN AGAIN AND HAD PICTURES TAKEN AND WAS TOLD IN THE MEAN TIME THE DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER TO GET A QUOTE FROM AN UPHOLSTERER IN REGARDS TO NEW FRONT AND BACK SEATS. I HAD TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP ONCE AGAIN AFTER NOT HEARING FROM THEM FOR AN EXTENDED AMOUNT OF TIME ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT CHRYSLER IS NOT GOING TO REPLACE THE SEATS,THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. *TR
I JUST RENTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE FOLLOWING, THE BATTERY HAS NO BOOT OR OTHER INSULATION DEVICE PROTECTING EITHER ITS POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE TERMINALS. THE BATTERY IS LOCATED DOWN IN A WELL IN FRONT OF THE FRONT LEFT TIRE. IT WOULD BE VERY POSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE TO ACCIDENTALLY DROP A METAL TOOL DOWN INTO THAT WELL WHERE IT COULD CAUSE A SHORT-CIRCUIT TO THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL. A SHORT-CIRCUITED AUTO BATTERY IS CAPABLE OF DELIVERING HUNDREDS OF AMPS OF CURRENT, WHICH EQUATES TO AN ELECTRIC ARC WELDER. THE POTENTIAL DANGERS OF THOSE UNPROTECTED BATTERY TERMINALS SHOULD WARRANT A SAFETY INVESTIGATION TO DETERMINE IF A RECALL SHOULD BE INITIATED TO CORRECT THIS APPARENT DESGIN FLAW. *TR

WHILE TRAVELING TO NASHVILLE, TN., I NOTICED THAT THE CAR OFTEN LOST HANDLING CAPACITY WHEN COMING OFF SMALL BRIDGES AS THERE IS OFTEN A SMALL DROP OFF. THIS HAPPENED AT LEAST 7 TIMES AS I DECIDED TO SLOW DOWN TO 55 (LIMIT IS 65) WHENEVER CROSSING THEM. THIS IS QUITE A SURPRISE AND I HAD THIS EXPERIENCE ONLY ONCE BEFORE AND IT WAS ON A VERY SMALL VEHICLE SOME 10 YEARS AGO. IT WAS NOTICEABLE TO THE POINT THAT MY PASSENGER FELT IT AS WELL AND I WOULD HAVE HAD A WRECK HAD I SNATCHED THE WHEEL DURING THESE SCENARIOS. TO BE MORE CLEAR, AFTER CROSSING THE SMALL BRIDGES...MAYBE 20 YARDS LONG ON AVERAGE, THERE IS A DROP OFF TO THE NORMAL HIGHWAY AND THE FRONT END DOES NOT TRANSITION DOWN, IT ACTUALLY TAKES ON AIR BEFORE DOING SO AND THAT IS WHERE THE LOSS OF CONTROL COMES IN. SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THE PURCHASE OF MY 2012 CHRYSLER 200 TOURING (3.6 LITER V6) I HAVE HAD STEERING AND CONTROL PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. UPON DOING MY OWN INSPECTION, I DISCOVERED THAT THE TIRES PROVIDED ON MY 18X7INCH, *UPGRADED* FACTORY RIMS, ARE SUBSTANITALLY UNDER RATED FOR THE SIZE, WEIGHT AND POWER OF THIS VEHICLE. THE TIRES ON THE V6 200 WITH THE UPGRADED WHEELS HAVE A PERFORMANCE RATING OF 'T,' HOWEVER AFTER TALKING TO SEVERAL TIRE SHOPS AND LOOKING A SIMILARLY EQUIPPED CARS, THIS SEEMS TO BE AN UNREASONABLY LOW RATING FOR THIS PARTICULAR CAR. IT RESULTS IN SEVER UNDERSTEER, HARSH CORNERING, POOR BRAKEING DISTANCE, AND COULD RESULT IN A BLOW OUT. THE 4 CYLINDER VERSION OF THIS SAME CAR COMES WITH TIRES THAT HAVE A MUCH HIGHER RATING. IN FACT MANY SMALL FAMILY SEDANS HAVE HIGER RATED TIRES THAN THE HEAVY AND POWERFUL CHRYSLER 200. EVEN OTHER CARS OFFERED BY CHRYSLER GROUP. IT SEEMS THAT ONLY THE 200 WITH THE UPGRADED RIMS HAS THE UNDER PERFORMING TIRES. TO MAKE THIS PROBLEM EVEN WORSE, UNDER HARD ACCELERATION THE CAR WILL CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE AND RAISE RPMS EVEN AFTER MY FOOT IS OFF THE GAS PEDAL. THIS PROBLEM, COUPLED WITH THE POOR PERFORMING TIRES CAUSED THE CAR TO SKID INTO A THE GRASS MEDIAN IN A CORNER. NO ONE WAS HURT AND THE CAR WAS NOT DAMAGED. *TR

I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE MY PROBLEM, CONTACTED CHRYSLER TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY REPORT OF THIS BUT THEY HADN'T HAD ANY COMPLAINTS. THE DEALER THEN SENT ME ON MY WAY. ON APRIL 1ST I WAS DRIVING MY 2012 CHRYSLER 200,658 MILES,WITH MY TWO YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE CAR. AS I WAS TURNING RIGHT OFF OF A MAIN STREET INTO A THE PARKING LOT THERE WAS ANOTHER CAR MOVING SO AT THE ENTRANCE, I PRESSED MY BRAKES SHORTLY AND PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE I WAS NOT IN THE OTHER VEHICLES WAY SO I THEN PROCEEDED TO PUT THE CAR BACK IN DRIVE BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. AT THIS TIME THE CAR WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP AND IN THE FAST MOVING TRAFFIC WITH MY DAUGHTERS END OUT IN THE MAIN STREET. I HAVE BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE DEALER WHICH THEY HAVE TOLD ME THEY ARE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THAT THEY SPOKE WITH CHRYSLER AND ASKED FOR REPORTS BUT CHRYSLER SAID NO PROBLEMS SUCH AS MINE HAS BEEN REPORTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.

TOOK CAR IN TO DEALERSHIP YEARS AGO TO HAVE HEAD REST AND AIRBAGS FIXED. RECEIVED A NOTICE BY INPUTTING MY VIN THAT THESE FIXES WERE INCOMPLETE . ALSO DISCOVERED THAT THE 3.6 PENTASTAR ENGINE FROM THE FACTORY HAD SUBSTANDARD ENGINE BEARINGS WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE ENGINE SEIZURE AND THE REMEDY WAS FOR THE FACTORY TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. MY 2012 CHRYSLER 200 WAS MANUFACTURED DURING THIS TIME FRAME, YET WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER OF THIS DANGEROUS CONDITION.

THE DEALERSHIP HAS DENIED THAT I HAVE EVER BROUGHT THIS UP, BUT WHEN MY BRAKES STARTED SQUEALING AROUND 7000.00 MILE I THEN BROUGHT IT UP AGAIN AND THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED A FRONT END ALIGNMENT AND NEW BRAKES! OK I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR... I TOLD THEM NO, HOW COULD THAT BE. WELL SINCE THEN MY CAR HAS HAD TO HAVE THE CYLANDER REPLACED AND THEY HAVE ADDRESSED THE JERKING WITH A FRONT END ALIGNMENT WHICH BY THE WAY DID NOT DO ANYTHING. IT STILL IS HARD TO CONTROL AND COULD ONLY DO 30 MILE AN HR IN SNOW BEFORE IT WOULD LOOSE CONTROL. I HAVE MORE COMPLAINTS AND HAVE ADDRESSED CHRYSLER TO NO AVAIL. THEY JUST TELL ME ITS THE MAKE OF THE CAR AND THAT MY BRAKES SQUEALING ARE BECAUSE ASBESTOS IS NO LONGER IN BRAKES. I TOLD THEM THAT I WAS NOT BORN YESTERDAY AND HAVE DRIVEN MORE CARS THAN THIS AND NEVER HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. THEY OFFERED ME AN EXTENDED WARRENTY AND STATED THAT WAS ALL ANYONE COULD DO . SALUTATIONS; I HAVE ALREADY CONTACTED CHRYSLER ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THEIR RESPONSE WAS TO BASICALLY BLOW ME OFF. THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE REAR SUSPENSION OF THE CHRYSLER 200. WHEN EVER THE REAR SUSPENSION HITS A RECESSED MAN HOLE COVER OR A POT HOLE. THE REAR SUSPENSION SEEMS TO KICK OUT FROM ITS TRAJECTORY. THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS IN A STRAIGHT LINE, BUT WHEN IN A CORNER THIS IS VERY SPOOKY AND UNNERVING. AND COULD BE A SAFETY PROBLEM IN ICY/WET ROAD CONDITIONS. THIS HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS ABOVE 30 MPH. I DO NOT KNOW IF IT IS WITH THE JOINT AND REBOUND OF THE SHOCKS , OR A PROBLEM WITH THE ANGLE OF ATTACK WITHIN THE TRAILING ARMS AND SET UP. IT SIMPLY SHOULD BE A FACTORY MISALIGNMENT. I ALSO HAD TO RETURN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE HEADLIGHTS ADJUSTED BECAUSE I COULD NOT SEE PAST 20 YARDS. THIS WAS ADJUSTED IMMEDIATELY AT THE DEALERS. THIS SUSPENSION CONDITION HAS ALSO BEEN REPORTED IN A COUPLE AUTOMOTIVE MAGAZINES I READ. *TR

SIDE NOTE..THIS CAR HAS REMOTE START CAPABILITY ON THE KEY FOB..I NOTICED A RECALL LAST YEAR FOR SOME VEHICLES WHERE THEY NOTICED THE CIRCUIT BOARD INSIDE A FOB HAD VIBRATED LOOSE, AND SOMEHOW WAS SENDING SIGNALS TO SOME COMPONENT IN THE CAR WHICH WAS CAUSING IT TO STOP...IE. NO CODES ASSOCIATED WITH A MALFUNCTION LIKE THAT...MIGHT BE SOMETHING TO LOOK AT TOO. TWICE ALSO, THE HINT OF AN ELECTRICAL SMELL HAS BEEN DETECTED...SAME SMELL I EXPERIENCED WHEN THE PCM ON MY 1993 FORD VAN COOKED ITSELF A COUPLE YEARS AGO..AT FIRST I WROTE IT OFF AS A NEW CAR THING..BUT COMBINE THAT WITH PRESENT AND PAST EXPERIENCES...WELL, THE CONNECTION MAY NOT BE COINCIDENTAL. *TR
WHEN SLOWING DOWN ALMOST TO A STOP, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTS HARD. IT CAUSE A SHUTTER OR JERK AND YOU CAN FEEL EVEN IN THE BRAKES. FEELS AWFUL AND CANNOT BE NORMAL. ALSO, WHEN ACCELERATING, THE VEHICLE PULLS HARD TO THE RIGHT. *TR
