I NOTICED AFTER I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN 2012, I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH MY CAR IN 2013. MY CAR STARTED HAVING HEAT COMING FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. I IGNORED THIS ISSUE BUT THEN IT STARTED HAPPENING MORE OFTEN. ON MY LAST OIL CHANGE THE DEALER DIDN'T FILL MY OVERFLOW FOR THE ANTIFREEZE SO I HAD A FRIEND TO FILL IT UP. AFTER FILLING THE ANTIFREEZE HE DECIDED TO TURN ON THE ENGINE. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT IS THAT THE ANTIFREEZE BEGAN TO BOIL. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT THE DEALER AND TOOK IT ON YESTERDAY. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE TIPM WHICH WAS SHORTED OUT AND THAT THE FAN WASN'T COMING ON LIKE IT SHOULD. THE COST OF THIS REPAIR IS $1275.00. I BELIEVE CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE ISSUES AND THAT THEY NEED TO REIMBURSE CUSTOMERS FOR THIS ISSUE.
AS I WAS DRIVING MY CAR IT JUST STOP RUNNING, THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHTS OR NOTHING CAME ON THE CAR JUST STOP. THEN IT WOULD NOT START BACK UP UNTIL THE NEXT DAY WHEN IT WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP. THEY CHECK THE CAR OUT AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPEN AND THEY STILL CAN NOT FIND OUT WHY THE CAR IS STOPPING. THEN THE LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASH BOARD AND I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER SHIP AND THEY STILL COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHY THEY CAME ON BECAUSE THE COMPUTER DID NOT REPORT THAT ANY LIGHTS CAME ON. THEN THEY KEEP MY CAR OVER THE WEEKEND AND THEY SAID THE CAR RAN FINE EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW THE CAR DID STOP BUT SINCE THE COMPUTER COULDN'T TELL THEM THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CAR THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE CAR..I WISH I KNOW THIS BEFORE I BROUGHT THIS CAR... *TR
CANT SEE AT NIGHT WITH THE LOW BEAMS. NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WITH A TWO BULB SYSTEM. DOES SOME ONE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE THIS ISSUE IS ADDRESSED? *TR
I GET A RECALL ABOUT AIR BAG (SOMETHING ABOUT THE SEATS) AND MY AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON. I TAKE IT IN AND THE DEALER WANTED TO CHARGE A DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT. TOOK IT BACK, AND THE DEALER, HERMAN JENKINS IN UNION CITY TN, STATED THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. TODAY I HAVE A AIR BAG LIGHT ON ALL THE TIME. WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC, THAT IF THE LIGHT WAS ON THE AIR BAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY. MY WIFE DRIVE THIS CAR EVERY DAY. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER, IF THEY CAN'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT THE DEALER COULD NOT FIX A PRODUCT THEY SELL!.
LEAVING MY OFFICE, IN TRAFFIC, THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE MAX SPEED IT WOULD GO TO WAS ONLY 40 MPH, BUT THE RPM'S WERE HIGH. BY THE TIME I GOT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP (ABOUT 20 MINUTES LATER), THE PROBLEM HAD CORRECTED ITSELF. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO PULL THE CODE, SO THEY TOLD ME TO COME BACK IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN. *TR
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS MY FAMILY WAS INJURED WITH SEVERE CUTS DUE TO DELAMINATION OF THE DOOR HANDLES. THIS AFFECTED EVERY DOOR THAT SAW REGULAR USE. I WAS CUT, MY WIFE WAS CUT AND MY DAUGHTER WAS CUT. DOORS AFFECTED WERE: DRIVER, FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE. THE DELAMINATED CHROME ON THE DOOR HANDLE CREATES A RAZOR SHARP EDGE. THE CUT OCCURS WHEN OPERATING THE DOOR HANDLE. *TR
VEHICLE PURCHASE FROM ENTERPRISE CAR SALE, MAY 3,2013. MILEAGE 30926. IMMEDIATELY I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH LOUD CLICKING SOUND IN FRONT TIRES AND LOUD SQUEALING ON BACKUP. ENTERPRISE AGREED TO FIX THE PROBLEM ONCE IDENTIFIED. THE INSPECTION TO TIRES AND BRAKES WAS DONE AND DEALERSHIP STATED THEY COULD NOT GET VEHICLE TO REPLICATE THE NOISE (LOL) . 2ND TRIP TO DEALERSHIP. SAME COMPLAINT. ANSWER- COULD NOT GET VEHICLE TO DUPLICATE NOISE. "YOU MUST BE KIDDING ME. IF I CAN HEAR IT I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR IT. SO, MY SUGGESTION WAS TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS, TURN OFF THE AIR CONDITIONER / RADIO...YOU CANT MISS IT. WELL, THE FRONT TIRES WERE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS STATED THAT THEY WERE 1/8 INCH TO LARGE.BUT NOTHING DONE TO THE BRAKES. THERE WAS STILL PLENTY PADDING . 3RD TRIP TO DEALERSHIP. BRAKES ARE NOW SCREAMING AT ME! THE PADS WERE REPLACED WITH DIFFERENT MATERIAL. FROM CERAMIC TO METALLIC PADS.. TWO MONTHS HAVE GONE BY AND GUESS WHAT? THE NOISE IS BACK!!!!. IM NO GENIUS AND DEFINITELY NOT A MECHANIC, BUT IF YOU KEEP DOING THE SAME THING YOU WILL GET THE SAME RESULTS. HOW MANY TIMES DOES IT TAKE TO REALIZE THAT SOMETHING ELSE IS WRONG? THE QUESTION IS....WHAT ? I HAVE READ "SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FROM DIFFERENT OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. SO I KNOW THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG . HOW MANY COMPLAINTS DOES IT REQUIRE BEFORE AN INVESTIGATION TAKES PLACE AND A RECALL IS ISSUED BECAUSE SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE?. I REGRET NOT DOING THE RESEARCH ON THIS CAR BECAUSE I KNOW FOR SURE THAT I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. *TR
WHEN BACKING UP FROM A PARKING PLACE THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED IN THE LATTER PART OF APRIL 2013, WE HEARD THIS LOUD SCREECHING NOISE COMING FROM WHAT WE THOUGHT TO BE THE FRONT WHEELS . I THEN TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TOLD THE SERVICE PERSON ABOUT IT, HE THEN SAID ALL CARS HAVE BEEN DOING IT BECAUSE OF THE DUST STORMS IN THE AREA . THE NOISE HAS BEEN GETTING LOUDER AND LOUDER IT'S EMBARRASSING ANY MORE TO BACK UP ! WHO WOULD THINK SUCH A NICE AND BEAUTIFUL CAR WOULD BE EMITTING SUCH A TERRIBLE NOISE. EVEN MY ELDERLY DAD HAS NOTICED IT EVERY TIME I PICK HIM UP AND HE SAID WHAT A SHAME IT IS THAT THIS CAR MAKES THAT HORRIFIC SOUND . ON 10-22-13 I REPORTED THIS PROBLEM AGAIN OUR CAR DEALERSHIP AND ASKED THEM TO START A CASE ABOUT IT AND I'D REPORT IT TO NHTSA. THE SERVICE MANAGER AGREES WITH ME AND STATED THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CHRYSLER 200 CARS AND THAT CHRYSLER CORP, REFUSES TO ADMIT THERE IS PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS! DON"T BUY THIS CAR! *TR
2012 CHRYSLER 200. WHEN SLOWING THEN ACCELERATING IN TURN ABOUT, THE 200 WILL OFTEN STALL FOR A SECOND OR TWO, THEN PROCEED. SEEMS TO ESPECIALLY HAPPEN WHEN ATTEMPTING TO INCREASE SPEED QUICKLY TO ENTER TRAFFIC. THE ENGINE WILL STALL AND BECOME UNRESPONSIVE FOR A SECOND OR TWO BEFORE RESPONDING AGAIN. THIS HAS BEEN UNSETTLING A COUPLE OF TIMES. THIS SEEMS TO OCCUR WHEN TURNING AND ACCELERATING. I DO NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES WHEN ACCELERATING IN A STRAIGHT LINE. THE SECOND SPEED ISSUE IS THAT THE 200 IS SLOW TO STOP REVVING WHEN ACCELERATING. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS UPON ACCELERATION, WHEN I LIFTED MY FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR, THE ENGINE KEPT REVVING FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS AND THE CAR KEPT SPEEDING UP. THIS HAS NOT CAUSED ANY SAFETY ISSUES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2012 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FAILED TO RESPOND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
THIS CHRYSLER 2012 200 STARTED TO HAVE BRAKE SQUEALING ISSUES AT ABOUT 7,000 MILES I WENT TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS PROBABLY JUST BEING BROKE IN SINCE I PURCHASED THIS CAR AT 200 MILES ON IT. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED AND NO ONE AT THE DEALERSHIP WOULD ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. I THEN TOLD THEM THEY HAD TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND THEY THEN TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOT A FIX FOR THIS THAT CHRYSLER COULD NOT FIX THIS PROBLEM. AND THAT THEY THE DEALERSHIP DENNIS DILLON AND CHRYSLER HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO DO. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE MY CAR AND IN SEPTEMBER OF 2013 MY CAR'S CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK INTO THE DEALER DENNIS DILLON AND WAS ADVISED THAT MY CYLANDER HEAD WAS GONE AND WOULD NEED REPAIRED. I WAS TOLD TO GO AHEAD AND DIVE MY CAR WHILE THE PARTS CAME IN. MY CAR WAS FIXED AND PICKED UP FROM DEALER THEN 1 DAY LATER MY CAR OVERHEATED ON INTERSTATE AND BROKE DOWN WAS THEN TOLD A CLAMP CAME OFF AND WAS THEN FIXED. SINCE THIS ISSUE MY CAR HAS NOT DRIVEN THE SAME. IT IS SLUGGISH . I ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT THE LEMON LAW AND WAS TOLD TO CONTACT CHRYSLER . I DID SO AND WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER THAT THERE IS NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO. MY BRAKES STILL SQEAL VERY LOUDLY AND CHRYLSER TOLD ME THAT ITS BECASUE THEY REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS AND NO LONGER HAVE ASBESTOS' IN THEM. I THEN ADVISED THEM THAT I HAVE DRIVEN OTHER MODELS AND MAKES AND DID NOT HAVE THAT PROBLEM. THEY REFUSED TO BE OF ANY ASSISTANCE. MY STEERING IS ALSO AN ISSUE IN WHICH THE DEALERSHIP HAS SAID THAT IT NEEDED AN ALIGNMENT BUT SINCE THE CAR WAS ONLY A COUPLE HUNDRED MILES ON IT. IT HAS PULLED SEVERLY TO THE LEFT. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND THIS CAR NEEDS TO FALL UNDER THE LEMON LAW AND BE DEALT WITH. *TR
AWFUL POPPING NOISE TO FRONT END WHEN DRIVING. WORSENS OVER TIME . HAD TO SHOP 4 TIMES. THEY NOW ADMIT TO A PROBLEM WITH TIE RODS AT MANUFACTURE. DEALERSHIP IS OFFERING TO FIX WITH A $100 CO-PAY SINCE IT IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY MILEAGE. I AM WORKING WITH CHRYSLER TO GET THE REST COVERED SINCE IT IS AN UNRESOLVED WARRANTY ISSUE. *TR
IT HAS BEEN INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO SEE AT NIGHT WHEN DRIVING MY CHRYSLER 200 2012 IN LOW LIT AREAS DUE TO THE HEADLIGHT BEAMS. LESS LIGHT? AIMED LOW? I HAVE TO DRIVE FAR SLOWER THAN POSTED AROUND BENDS AT NIGHT. I DON'T RECALL THIS ISSUE WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW. I HAVE HAD IT ONE YEAR AND HAVE JUST OVER 10,000 MILES. I DON'T USUALLY HAVE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT OTHER THAN MY WELL LIT NEIGHBORHOOD ,SO THIS COULD HAVE EASILY GONE UNNOTICED. EITHER WAY, THIS TERRIFIES ME. THE OTHER ISSUE I HAVE IS A JERK WHEN SHIFTING TO REVERSE OR DRIVE. IT IS A LOUD CLUNK AND I FEEL THE VIBRATION. I WILL NOT DRIVE AT NIGHT IN LOW LIGHT AREAS UNTIL RESOLVED. I ALSO FEEL THE CAR PULLS TO THE RIGHT WHEN DRIVING. I WILL CONTACT THE DEALER SOON, UNTIL THEN I JUST DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING WHILE ON DARK ROADS. *TR
THE CHRYSLER 200 VEHICLE THAT I PURCHASED IN APRIL 2012 WAS BROUGHT IN AGAIN ON 7/1/13 FOR SERVICE DUE TO FRONT END CLANGING METAL NOISES WHICH OCCUR WHILE TURNING, BACKING UP, SLOWING AND STOPPING. THIS UNDIAGNOSED NOISE BEGAN FOLLOWING SEVERAL ENGINE STALLING EPISODES, TWO OF WHICH REQUIRED TOWING (SINCE I WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE IN FOR SERVICE). THE ENGINE STALLING EPISODES OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH AND AS STATED, TWICE RESULTED IN TOWING AND SERVICE. SERVICE ON THE ENGINE STALLING PROBLEM OCCURRED IN APRIL AND AGAIN IN MAY 2013. IT IS UNCLEAR WHY THE REMEDY FOR THE ENGINE STALLING WAS NOT FOLLOWED PER THE NHTSA RECALL ID # 11V487000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN/CHRYSLER MANUFACTURER REMEDY- SINCE THAT RECALL HAD ALREADY BEEN PUBLISHED. IN ADDITION TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE, THE FRONT END METAL CLANGING MAY BE THE RESULT OF TOWING DUE TO THE ENGINE DEFECT AND/OR A RESULT OF ANOTHER VEHICLE DEFECT (RECALL #11V315000 - STEERING COLUMN). THIS IS A VEHICLE THAT HAS MULTIPLE PROBLEMS AND POSES A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO VARIOUS PROBLEMS. IT NEEDS TO BE OFF THE ROAD. *TR
WHILE DRIVING 15MPH IN A 25MPH ZONE DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE THE ROAD ON A DOWNGRADE I ALMOST HIT AN ANIMAL AND COMING CLOSE TO ALSO HITTING A LOW CENTER MEDIAN BEING UNABLE TO SEE IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE MORE THAN 10 FEET OR LESS. INFORMED CHRYSLER AND AS OTHER PEOPLE STATED THEY WANT TO DO AN ADJUSTMENT AND DIAGNOSIS OF PROBLEM. I HAVE AND DRIVE OTHER VEHICLES AND HAVE NOT HAD THIS ISSUE WITH ANYTHING ELSE JUST THIS VEHICLE THERE IS NOT ENOUGH LIGHT AND THE CUTOFF IS SERIOUSLY BAD. *TR
. THERE ARE ABOUT 8 CARS AHEAD OF ME IN MY LANE AS WE WAIT FOR THE GREEN LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHTS TURN GREEN I NOTE THAT MY LANE HASN'T MOVED AND THE BUSES ARE STEADY CHUGGING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION IN THE LEFT LANE I LOOK INTO MY REARVIEW MIRROR, I WAS THE LAST CAR IN LINE FOR THIS STOP AND I HADN'T EVEN GOTTEN MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND ALL I COULD SEE WAS A BIG BLACK GRILL COMING TOWARD ME. I BRACED MY HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND SHOUTED PLEASE DON'T HIT ME' BEFORE I COULD FINISH THE SENTENCE BLAM!' FORTUNATELY THE CARS AHEAD OF ME WERE JUST STARTING TO MOVE FORWARD. MY HEAD SNAPPED SO HARD MY EARS WENT FULL. THE DASH MAT ON MY CAR CAME AT ME LIKE AN AIRBAG. MY PHONE IN THE FRONT CENTER CONSOLE FLEW FORWARD AND HIT THE SHIFT KNOB AND THE BACK POPPED OFF AND MUST HAVE SHAKEN THE BATTERY LOOSE. THE COFFEE IN MY LIDDED CUP SPEWED OUT THRU THE SMALL SIPPING HOLE ALL OVER THE CORNER OF MY LEATHER SEATS. I SAT STUNNED, TRYING TO ASSESS WHAT JUST HAPPENED. I KNEW THAT MY NECK AT THE BASE OF MY SKULL WAS BURNING, AS I REACHED TO PULL THE DASH MAT OFF OF ME I REALIZED MY RIGHT ARM HURT. I STILL HADN'T TAKEN MY FOOT OFF OF THE BRAKE AND I COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED. I HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED ...ALMOST $5000 WORTH OF REAR END DAMAGE, AND MEDICAL BILLS FOR WHIPLASH AND A BROKEN ELBOW! I AM BEING TOLD BY CHRYSLER THAT THERE IS AN ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT RECALL (THIS RESTRAINT COULD HAVE PREVENTED MY WHIPLASH). LOSS OF WORK, AND MEDICAL COSTS, HAD TO HIRE AN ATTNY. AGAINST THE OTHER DRIVER, STILL TRYING TO RECOVER MY FINANCIAL LOSSES. *TR
PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW OFF THE LOT APRIL 2012.THIS ISSUE I CURRENTLY HAVE BECAME AN ISSUE FOR ME IN FEB 2014 WITH THE WINTER WEATHER I ENTERED FREEWAY TRIED TO GAIN SPEED ONCE SPEEDOMETER HIT 50ISH NOTICED THE CAR BEGAN TO BRAKE LOOSE AND SWAY SIDE TO SIDE REALLY QUICK AND SCARY,IMMEDIATELY SLOWED DOWN SENSATION WENT AWAY COULD NOT DRIVE ABOVE 40MPH, WHILE ALL TRAFFIC AROUND ME ON THE FREEWAY WERE TRAVELING AT A MUCH GREATER SPEEDS I FIGURED IT WAS JUST BY CHANCE I HIT AN ICE PATCH.I ATTEMPTED TO SPEED UP AND ONCE HIT 45MPH THE SIDE TO SIDE SWAY ONCE AGAIN WAS PRESENT EXITED THE FREEWAY AND DO NOT TRAVEL ABOVE 40 IN ANY WET,SNOW,ICY WEATHER BUT REGARDLESS OF SPEED IF I HIT ANYTHING SLICK I SWAY, THE LOW SPEEDS JUST HELP ME MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR.MY HUSBAND THOUGHT I MUST JUST NEED A WINTER TIRE,(THERE ARE A SET OF 4 GOODYEAR EAGLES ON IT PRESENTLY) UNTIL HE DROVE IT AND DETERMINED THERE WAS DEFINITELY A SERIOUS ISSUE JACKED IT UP TO REVEAL THAT IT WAS THE INNER TIE RODS COMPLETELY WIPED OUT CONTRIBUTING TO THE SWAY.CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP TO RESOLVE IT(MIND YOU THE MILEAGE WAS NOW AT 37050) WAS TOLD THEY WOULD DO AN INSPECTION FOR $85 AND WOULD CALL CHRYSLER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD HONOR A REPAIR SINCE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY HOWEVER NO GUARANTEE THAT THE REPAIRS WOULD BE COVERED NON THE LESS A FRONT END ALIGNMENT.I COULD NOT LEAVE MY CAR FOR 3 DAYS FOR DIAGNOSIS NOR AFFORD 85$ THAT WOULD NOT EVEN GO TOWARDS THE REPAIR.I CALLED CHRYSLER ONLY TO BE TOLD THEY CAN NOT GUARANTEE ANYTHING NOR WOULD CHRYSLER CONSIDER ANYTHING UNTIL I HAVE AN INSPECTION DONE THAT THERE ARE NO DISCOUNTS NO COURTESY INSPECTION TO BE HAD.BOUGHT A NEW CAR TO AVOID ISSUES SUCH AS THESE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THE HEADLIGHTS ILLUMINATED DOWNWARD AND DID NOT PROVIDE SUFFICIENT ILLUMINATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THERE WAS NO REPAIR BECAUSE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.
BREAK LIGHT IN DASH COMES ON AND OFF CONSTANTLY

DROVE APPROXIMATELY 0.5 MILES WHEN THE ENGINE STARTED TO KICK BACK, DROVE ANOTHER 0.5 MILES AND AS I WAS PARKING THE CAR THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. PUT THE CAR INTO PARK AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. THIS FIRST HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR WAS 11 MONTH OLD. THE DEALER REPLACED THE RADIATOR, HEATER CORE AND CLEANED THE BLOCK. HE SAID THESE WERE FULL OF SLUDGE. TODAY, MARCH 2015) AT 34017 MILES, I PICKED UP THE CAR FROM THE DEALER AFTER COMPLAINING OF THE SAME LACK OF HEAT AND THE SAME WAS REPORTED, REPLACED RADIATOR,HEATER CORE, OIL FILTER COOLER AND FLUSH COOLING SYSTEM. ALSO STATED ON THE REPAIR INVOICE "PERFORMED TEST AND REPAIR PER STAR CASE [XXX]". THIS IS APPARENTLY AN ACCOUNT TO CHARGE THE REPAIR BACK TO CHRYLSER. CHRYSLER KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM. THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THAT SOMEONE AT MANUFACTURING PLANT ADDED A SEALANT TO STOP LEAKS. HE SAID IT IS WELL KNOWN NOT TO USE THIS SEALANT BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEMS IT WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE IN THE SYSTEM. THIS HAS BEEN REPAIRED TWICE, I HAVE NO REASON TO BELIEVE THAT IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. IT HAS BEEN PAID BY WARRANTY BUT SOME DAY IT WILL BE OUT OF WARRANTY AND I WILL NOT BE THE ONE PAYING FOR IT!!!! SEEMS TO ESPECIALLY HAPPEN WHEN ATTEMPTING TO INCREASE SPEED QUICKLY TO ENTER TRAFFIC. THE ENGINE WILL STALL AND BECOME UNRESPONSIVE FOR A SECOND OR TWO BEFORE RESPONDING AGAIN. THE ENTIRE PROCESS IS THAT I BRAKE AND SLOW FOR THE TURN OR TO ENTER A ROUND ABOUT, WHEN THERE IS AN OPENING, I ACCELERATE, THE 200 WILL SPEED UP AS EXPECTED, THEN THE ENGINE WILL SUDDENLY STALL AND BECOME UNRESPONSIVE FOR 1-2 SECONDS, THEN RESUME AS NORMAL. THIS HAS BEEN UNSETTLING A COUPLE OF TIMES. THIS SEEMS TO OCCUR WHEN TURNING AND ACCELERATING. I DO NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES WHEN ACCELERATING IN A STRAIGHT LINE. THE SECOND SPEED ISSUE IS THAT THE 200 IS SLOW TO STOP REVVING WHEN ACCELERATING. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS UPON ACCELERATION, WHEN I LIFTED MY FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR, THE ENGINE KEPT REVVING FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS AND THE CAR KEPT SPEEDING UP. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A DEFECTIVE PASSENGER SEAT BELT. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED SHE UN-BUCKLED THE SEAT BELT, THE BUCKLE ITSELF CAME BACK AND HIT HER ON THE RIGHT ELBOW, CAUSING EXTREME PAIN. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND I WAS COMING DOWN A SIDE STREET AND I SAW THIS U HAUL VAN GOING A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AT LEAST 35 - 40 MPH (THE POSTED SPEED IS 15 MPH) AND IT HIT ME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND PUSHED ME INTO A TREE AND WHILE HITTING THE TREE MY AIRBAGS DID NOT GO OFF AND I WAS HURTING AT THAT TIME, I WAS TAKEN TO THE NEAREST HOSPITAL AND RELEASED AND WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM WHAT WAS GOING ON THEY SAID ITS NOT THEIR PROBLEM THAT I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE IT UP WITH THE MANUFACTOR AND I DID, BUT LIKE USUSAL THEY SAID THEY DID NO WRONG THEIR CAR IS UP TO PAR BUT AS I READ ON THEIR WEBSITE THAT THE AIRBAG IS SUPPOSE TO GO OFF DURING A SIDE IMPACTED AND I AM VERY UPSET THAT THIS HAPPEN TO ME AND MY CAR HAS BEEN SITTING AND GETTING WORKED ON SINCE SEPT. 6, 2012 AND THERE WAS A PART TO MY CAR THAT WAS ON BACK ORDER WHICH I AM SHOCKED WHEN ITS A BRAND NEW CAR.I AM HAVING THE WORST TIME WITH THIS WHOLE THING AND IT SEEMS LIKE NO ONE CARES THAT I GOT HURT OR THAT I AM HAVING SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR, THE INSURANCE AND MANY OTHER THINGS CAN SOME ONE PLEASE TAKE A LOOK INTO MY CASE AND HELP ME I CAN'T TAKE ANYMORE ...................... TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH IN A PARKING LOT, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE WHETHER A WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE ENGINE RESTARTED AND RESUMED AS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THERE WAS AN OPEN INVESTIGATION UNDER NHTSA ACTION NUMBER PE12016 (ENGINE), WHICH PERTAINED TO THE 2011 MODEL YEAR VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 3.6L ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,150.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE INEFFECTIVE, CAST A BEAM ONLY ABOUT 100 FEET ON DARK ROADS WITH RESTRICTIVE SIDE VISION. THE BEAM IS EVEN MORE INEFFECTIVE WHEN DRIVING DOWNHILL AND THE LIGHT BEAM IS ONLY ABOUT 50 FEET. THE DEALER EXPLAINED THAT IT IS A ONE BULB SYSTEM WITH A SHUTTER THAT COVERS THE BULB HALF WAY WHEN CHANGING FROM HIGH TO LOW BEAMS. CHRYSLER IS OFFERING NO RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM WHICH HAS EXISTED SINCE ITS 2011 MODEL. THIS SYSTEM CAUSES THE OPERATOR TO CONTINUALLY USE HIGH BEAMS TO PROPERLY ILLUMINATE THE ROADWAY EVEN AT LOW SPEEDS OF 25-35MPH ON RURAL ROADWAYS. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL OR RETROFIT OF THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY TO A TWO BULB OR TWO ELEMENT BULB SYSTEM. *TR
WHILE RETURNING TO AIRPORT FOR RETURN TRIP HOME, WAS IN THE 2012 CHRYSLER 200 RENTAL CAR. SLOWED DOWN TO GO INTO A CURVE AND WHEN CAME OUT OF CURVE IT WAS LIKE THE VEHICLE WAS SUCKED OFF THE ROAD TO THE RIGHT. HAD NO CHOICE---THAT IS WHERE THE CAR WAS GOING...MY PASSENGER AND I WERE AIRLIFTED TO HOSPITAL. I SUFFERED FROM 3 BACK FRACTURES, 3 RIB FRACTURES, FRACTURED STERNUM, CONTUSIONS TO THE LUNGS AND 26 STITCHES IN THE FOREHEAD. WAS IN HOSPITAL FOR A WEEK AND OUT OF WORK FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS. PASSENGER HAD 2 BACK FRACTURES, RIB FRACTURES ALSO. I HAVE ASKED AVIS/BUDGET TO GET THIS CAR OUT OF THEIR FLEET BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO RECALL THIS CAR. THEY HAD STEERING RECALLS ON THE 2011 MODEL. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS WITH THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ILLUMINATED, THE LIGHT WOULD ONLY PROJECT A FEW FEET AND THEN IT APPEARED THAT A CURTAIN CAME DOWN AS THE VISIBILITY BECAME LIMITED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE CONTACT ENTERED A RESIDENTIAL GARAGE AND NOTICED THAT THE LIGHTS PROJECTED AN IRREGULAR SHAPED LINE ON THE GARAGE WALL AND LIGHT ONLY APPEARED BELOW THE LINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHO PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 700.
