SERVICE AIR BAG SYSTEM AND SERVICE PARKING BRAKE NOTIFICATIONS APPEARED AS WELL AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT, THE SCREEN WENT IN AND OUT WHILE THE VEHICLE LOSS POWER AND WOULDN'T MOVE. THE TRANSMISSION JUST REVED THIS CAR HAS MAJOR ISSUES ALL OF THIS HAPPED WHILE DRIVING.
2016 CHRYSLER 200. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE CRUISE CONTROL DEVICE. *LD *TR
PARKING BRAKE WILL SPONTANEOUSLY ENGAGE WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREET GOING LESS THAN 15MPH. CHECK TURNS ON BUT NO CODES AND WILL NOT TURN OFF. BIGGEST ISSUE LATELY IS THAT CAR DOES NOT RECOGNIZE KEY FAB. BATTERIES HAVE BEEN CHANGED AND NEITHER KEY FAB IS RECOGNIZED. CAR CAN BE STARTED, GET OUT AND GET BACK IN AND FAB IS JOT RECOGNIZED. HAS LEFT ME STRANDED MANY TIMES. THEN WHEN GO BACK, IT SUDDENLY WORKS.
AT TIMES WILL NOT START . ENGINE DIES WHILE GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. TRANSMISSION LOSES POWER THEN AFTER RESTING IT WILL GO AGAIN THEN OUT OF NOWHERE IT STALLS AGAIN.
DRIVING FROM SCHOOL CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSTATE. CAR READ PUT CAR.IN P..AFTER DOING SO IT WOULD NOT START UP...AFTER A FEW MIN I HAD TO HOLD THE START BUTTON TO START IT WITH FOOT ON BRAKE...I PULLED OFF AGAIN AND WHEN I STOPPED IT KILLED AGAIN WITH TRAFFIC PASSING ME DOING 80 MPH..I WAS SO SCARED WITH MY TODDLER IN THE VEHICLE. DROVE HOME NO PROBLEM..NEXT DAY SAME THING STALLED.IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY! SOMEBODY HELP US .CHRYSLER IS GONNA GET SOME ONE KILLED. HAS BEEN DOING THIS EVERYDAY..I HEAR MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS AND CHRYSLER DOES NOTHING
WHEN DRIVING, A 'SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM' MESSAGE APPEARS AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON. THIS HAPPENS EVERY FEW MINUTES WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND WE WERE TOLD IT HAS TO DO WITH A PLUG UNDER THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT WHICH BENDS EASILY. IT WAS FIXED, BUT HAS STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN. THERE ARE SEVERAL REPORTS ONLINE ON VARIOUS SITES SUCH AS GOOGLE AND YOUTUBE REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE AIRBAGS WON'T DEPLOY IF WE WERE TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. I FEEL THE PLUG SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPLACED WITH ONE THAT WILL NOT MALFUNCTION. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AND IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT.
VEHICLE STALLS WITHOUT NOTICE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. CAN'T DISPLAY HAZARD LIGHTS. MUST RETURN THE CAR TO PARK AND WAIT A FEW MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING. STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN ON MY WIFE WHEN TAKING MY TODDLER O PRESCHOOL. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN! THIS VEHICLE IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED.
THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN, THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF IN TRAFFIC. THIS DEFINITELY CAN CAUSE A SAFETY ISSUE ON THE HIGHWAY, IN WHICH IT HAVE SHUT OFF ON ME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND WENT OFF. THE FAILURE RECURRED RANDOMLY. LATER, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE WHILE THE ABS INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED, AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT START. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,854.
ON 10/12/18 WAS DRIVING DOWN A BUSY HIGHWAY JUST STARTED GOING DOWN A HILL AND MY CAR LOST POWER AND MY GEAR SHIFTER STARTING BLINKING IN NEUTRAL, BRAKE PEDAL AND GAS PEDAL WAS STUCK AND PUSH TO START WOULD NOT WORK FOR ME TO RESTART MY CAR AFTER A FEW TRIES I WAS ABLE TO GET TO TURN OFF AND TOOK A COUPLE TRIES TO GET IT TO TURN BACK ON. I WAS STALLED AND HAD CARS DODGING ME AND SWERVING IN OTHER LANES WHEN THEY WERE TOPPING THE HILL. I WENT TO MY DEALERSHIP AND THEY WASN'T ABLE TO LOOK AT THAT DAY AND TOLD ME THEY COULD PROBABLY GET TO IT THE NEXT FOLLOWING WEEK. WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP TO DROP IT OFF WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT I WAS AT A STOP SIGN STOPPED WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND IT DECIDES TO TAKE OFF ON IT'S ON AND I HAD TO SMASH THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES TO MAKE IT STOP IN ORDER TO NOT HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. IT WAS A PRETTY TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE FOR ME AS I HAVE ALWAYS TOOK CARE OF THAT CAR SINCE I HAVE HAD IT. I NEVER HAD A RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE EITHER. MY ENGINE WOULD ALSO SKIP A FEW TIMES WHILE DRIVING TO MY DEALERSHIP. I HAVE ALSO NEVER HAD ANY WORK DONE TO MY VEHICLE MECHANICALLY BESIDE OIL CHANGES ON A REGULAR BASIS.
I WAS MAKING A TURN THE OTHER DAY AND MY ENGINE STOPPED. THE CENTER MONITOR ON MY DASHBOARD TOLD ME TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE.
MY CAR IS BURNING MORE OIL THAN IT SHOULD AND THE CAR DOES NOT WARN YOU WHEN YOU ARE COMPLETELY OUT OF OIL. INSTEAD, IT ALLOWS YOU TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND WHILE ON THE ROAD, IT SHUTS OFF. I HAVE HAD MY OIL CHANGE COMPLETED 2 WEEKS AGO AND I HAVE DRIVEN 1,000 MILES SINCE THEN. MY OIL LEVEL IS NOW BELOW THE MIN LEVEL. THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE A DASHBOARD INDICATOR AND THE "OIL LIFE" PERCENTAGE IS NOT ACCURATE.

WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD ERRONEOUSLY TURN TO THE LEFT. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER (GETTEL CHRYSLER, 2323 TAMIAMI TRAIL, PUNTA GORDA, FL 33950) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,530.

THE CONTACT HEARD A CLICKING NOISE WHEN THE INSTRUCTION WAS FOLLOWED AND THE VEHICLE STILL WOULD NOT START. THE CONTACT CALLED JIM BROWNE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM TAMPA BAY AT 813-452-5499 (LOCATED AT 10909 N FLORIDA AVE, TAMPA, FL 33612) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT ASKED THE MANUFACTURER IF THE REPAIR COST WOULD BE REIMBURSED IF THE FAILURE WERE TO BE RECALLED IN THE FUTURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE FOR REIMBURSEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT PREPARED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,734.
THE CAR BEGAN SHIFTING HARD AND HAD BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR THAT ISSUE. THEY COMPLETED A SOFTWARE UPDATE WHICH DID NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE. TODAY, 09-20-2018, THE CAR WAS SHAKING VIOLENTLY WHEN TAKING OFF AND STOPPED MOVING. IT WAS THE SHIFTED TO PARK AND WOULD NOT GO BACK TO DRIVE. IT WAS THEN SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED AND THEN SHIFTED IN TO DRIVE. IT NOW SHAKES VIOLENTLY EVERY TIME WHEN TAKING OFF. IT IS SCHEDULED FOR SERVICE AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME. THERE IS ABOUT 42,000 MILES ON THE CAR. THE OTHER ISSUES OCCURRED WITHIN THE LAST MONTH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN AND SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NAPLETON'S RIVER OAKS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (708-801-3090, LOCATED AT 17225 TORRENCE AVE, LANSING, IL 60438) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OIL WAS LOW. THE TECHNICIAN TOPPED OFF THE OIL, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER 700 MILES. THE CONTACT WENT BACK AND FORTH TO THE SAME DEALER AND THE OIL WAS REFILLED EACH TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND RECOMMENDED AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST BE CONDUCTED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE MANUFACTURER ORDERED THE DEALER TO PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 22,424.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BOCH NEW TO YOU USED CAR SUPERSTORE (1201 PROVIDENCE HWY ROUTE 1, THE AUTOMILE, NORWOOD, MA 02062, (781)332-4756) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SRS AIR BAG SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL; THEREFORE, SHE WOULD NEED TO PAY FULL PRICE FOR THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,900.
FOR ABOUT 30K MILES NOW MY SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. CHRYSLER WANTS TO CHARGE $100 TO LOOK AT IT AND THEN CHARGE MUCH, MUCH MORE TO "FIX" THE AIRBAGS. WHY ARE AIRBAGS THAT HAVE NEVER BEEN DEPLOYED NOT ALWAYS COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY? I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY A THIRD PARTY TECH THAT THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY WITH THIS LIGHT ON. THIS PROBLEM IS WIDELY KNOWN AND CHRYSLER SEEMS TO THINK OUR SAFETY IS NOT WORTH COVERING THIS ISSUE.
I HAVE NOTICED THAT MY 2016 CHRYSLER 200 IS BURNING OIL AT AN ALARMING RATE. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT WAS LOW BECAUSE THERE IS NO SENSOR THAT SHOWS UP ON THE DASH LETTING ME KNOW THE OIL WAS LOW. THE "OIL CHANGE LIFE" IS STILL AT 20% LIFE BUT MY CAR HAS BURNED THRU OVER 4 QUARTS OF OIL IN 4,000 MILES!! I FIND THIS EXTREMELY CONCERNING NOT TO MENTION THE POSSIBLE ENGINE DAMAGE THAT CAN BE DONE WITH A CAR BURNING THIS MUCH OIL. THERE SHOULD BE AN ALERT TO DRIVERS LETTING THEM KNOW THE OIL LEVELS ARE LOW. I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR THAT BURNED OIL LIKE THIS!
MY CAR WONT START AND THE BRAKES ARE HARD
IN THE LAST MONTH, MY 2016 CHRYSLER 200 HAS STALLED OUT WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. UPON TRYING TO RESTART, IT STRUGGLE TO TURN OVER. I HAVE TO PUT IN PARK AND WAIT A FEW MINUTES BEFORE IT WILL START UP AGAIN. THERE IS NO WARNING BEFORE THE CAR DIES EITHER. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH TO LET ME KNOW THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG. EACH TIME MY CAR STALLED I WAS ON A BUSY HIGHWAY AND LUCKILY NO CAR WERE COMING OR THEY WERE ABLE TO GO AROUND ME. I WAS SCARED I WAS GOING TO GET HIT AND KILLED WHEN MY CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BUSY HIGHWAY. I HAVE READ THE NUMEROUS 2015 AND 2016 MODELS HAVE THE SAME SAFETY ISSUE. THE 2016 200 NEEDS TO BE RECALLED TO FIX THIS SERIOUS, POSSIBLE FATAL ISSUE OF STALLING OUT WITHOUT WARNING. EACH TIME THIS HAPPENED TO ME WAS WHEN I WAS AT A STOP AND THEN STEPPING ON THE GAS, OR WHEN I WAS AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED (APPROX 10 MPH). I HAVE DOCUMENTED THE DATES AND TIMES EACH TIME MY CAR HAS STALLED OUT.
THE PRESSURE ON MY FRONT DRIVERS SIDE ISNT READING IT AT ALL AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A AN ELECTRICAL SO I CHANGED IT THEN A POPPING AND CLICKING SOUND STARTED SO I WENT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE CV AXEL JOINT I REPLACED IT STILL PERSIST THEY SAID IT MIGHT BE A VALVE OK I REPLACED STILL HAS THE POPPING AND CLICKING SOUND AND TO TOP IT OFF WHEN IM PUSHING ON THE GAS PEDAL TO GO FASTER THE CAR FOR SOME REASON PULLS BACK THEY TOLD ME AT THE CHRYSLER AUTO REPAID IT MIGHT BE BECAUSE IT NEEDS THE TRANSMISSION OIL CHANGE I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AND HAD IT DONE BUT IT STILL PERSISTS I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO ITS COST ME SO MUCH MONEY TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WRONG WITH IT AND FOR SOME ONE ON MINIMUM WAGE ITS GETTING VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTINUE PAYING THIS VEHICLE THAT HAS PROBLEMS THAT JUST WON'T GO AWAY.
DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN DISCOVERED REAR LOWER SHOCK MOUNTING BOLTS ARE MISSING.
MY CHRYSLER 200 DASHBOARD IS CUTTING OUT WHILE DRIVING AND STALLS
CRUISE CONTROL IS GETTING STUCK! I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN JUNE, 2018 AND EVERY TIME I SET THE CRUISE CONTROL ON THE CAR IT GETS STUCK WHILE I'M TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY. IT'LL WORK FINE ON FLAT ROADS AND GOING UPHILL BUT WHEN THE CAR GOES DOWNHILL AND THE SPEEDOMETER INCREASES PAST WHAT I HAVE THE CRUISE CONTROL SET ON' THE ENGINE REVS UP, THE RPMS GO UP TO 5 OR 6 (SOUNDS LIKE IT'S GOING TO EXPLODE!). I PRESS THE CRUISE CONTROL CANCEL BUTTON AND IT DOESN'T STOP IT, I EVEN MASH THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT WON'T STOP IT! I HAVE TO CONTINUOUSLY HOLD THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS WHILE DRIVING UNTIL THE CRUISE CONTROL KICKS OFF. I'VE NOTICED THERE IS A RECALL ON CERTAIN 2016 CHRYSLER 200S DUE TO THE CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM BUT WHEN I CALLED CHRYSLER AND GAVE THEM MY VIN NUMBER THEY SAID MY CAR ISN'T AFFECTED BY THE RECALL. BUT IT IS GETTING STUCK LIKE THE OTHER VEHICLES AND I NEED HELP!! PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO.
SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM NOTICE ON DASHBOARD. 4TH EVENT OVER 2 YEAR PERIOD. CURRENT MILEAGE 25000. DEALER HAS NOW REPAIRED WIRING CONNECTIONS ON FRONT PASSENGER SIDE (TWICE). SENSOR AREA NEAR FRONT LEFT HEADLIGHT, AND FRONT DRIVERS SIDE SQUIB 2 CIRCUIT CONNECTOR, THOUGH CODE THROWN THIS TIME WAS FOR LEFT SIDE SEAT DEPLOYMENT SQUIB 1. I AM CONCERNED THAT WITH SO MANY AREAS OF THE SYSTEM FAILING DUE TO IMPROPERLY INSTALLED OR DEFECTIVE CONNECTIONS, THAT THE SYSTEM IS LIKELY TO FAIL IN IN A CRASH WHEN MOST NEEDED! FAULTS OCCURRED BOTH WHILE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. LOCATION AND DIRECTION OF TRAVEL WERE RANDOM WHEN FAULTS OCCURRED.
AIRBAGS SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONING, THE CAR IS INDICATING NEEDS SERVICE FOR AIRBAGS SYSTEM FAILURE. THIS IS A MAJOR RISK FOR THE SAFETY OF ANY DRIVER. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED TO CHRYSLER. THOUSANDS OF CASES IN WHICH CHRYSLER 200 FROM YEAR 2015 TO 2018 HAVE A MALFUNCTION HAZARDOUS AIRBAG SYSTEM. FAILURE TO DEPLOY UPON VEHICLE IMPACT. WARNING INDICATION OF SYSTEM FAILURE IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND NEEDS A SAFETY RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD RECALL THESE VEHICLES. IT IS UNLAWFUL FOR THESE VEHICLES NOT TO OPERATE A PROPER AIRBAG SYSTEM.
WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM CAME ON AND WENT OFF MULTIPLE TIMES.
AS I WAS IN MOTION GOING ABOUT 20 MPH WITH THE CAR IN DRIVE (D), THE CAR DISPLAYED A MESSAGE AS SEEN IN THE PHOTO THAT STATES SHIFT TO PARK (P) TO START. AS, THAT MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE BRAKES LOCK UP WHILE THE CAR IS SLOWING DOWN SO YOU CANNOT SHIFT THE CAR TO PARK UNTIL THE CAR HAS COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. ONCE THE CAR COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP, I SHIFTED MY CAR BACK TO PARK AND TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR. THE CAR WOULDN'T RESTART RIGHT AWAY. THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WOULD MAKE A NOISE AS IF IT WERE TRYING TO START WITH THE RPM'S FLUCTUATING TO ABOUT 3 (3000 RPMS) THEN GO BACK TO 0 THEN JUMP TO 1 (1000 RPMS) THEN BACK TO 0 RPMS WHERE THE ENGINE WOULD GIVE OUT. I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT A MINUTE, WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, THEN IT WOULD RESTART AND RUN NORMALLY AGAIN. I CALLED CHRYSLER CORPORATE, DUE TO THE FACT OF HAVING THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION REPLACED WHILE UNDER WARRANTY DUE TO A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM THAT GREW AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH DARCARS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF SILVER SPRING LOCATED ON 12511 PROSPERITY DR, SILVER SPRING, MD 20904 TO BRING THE CAR TO GET SERVICED AND THE ISSUE LOOKED AT ON AUGUST 7TH 2018 AT 10:45 AM. I AM CURRENTLY WAITING FOR A DIAGNOSIS OF THE ISSUE TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE DEALERSHIP. PLEASE SEE PICTURES ATTACHED FOR MORE INFORMATION.
THIS VEHICLE BUILD DATE INDICATED AUGUST 2015 AND IT WAS SOLD AS A 2016 VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD CONSTANT PROBLEMS WITH THE SERVICE AIR BAG SYSTEM LIGHT COMING ON SINCE 2016, 2017 AND 2018 AND I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER AT 1 800 853 1403 TO REPORT THE PROBLEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK AND RESTARTED. THE BATTERY AND THE CRUISE CONTROL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,800.
1.CAR WAS PULLING INTO FAST FOOD RESTURANT - SLOWED, IT STALLED ALL POWER WAS GONE.FINALLY STARTED AFTER ABOUT A 10 MINUTE DELAY. THIS TYPE OF STALL HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES. 2. THE AIRBAG WARNING LAMP IS STUCK ON DUE TO A FAULTY WIRING ISSUE IN WHICH THE SYSTEM MAY OR MAY NOT WORK PROPERLY IN THE EVENT OF A ACCIDENT AND OR MAY GO OFF DUE TO HARD BREAKING. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN KNOWN ABOUT FOR A WHILE AS STATED IN THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN. AT LEAST THREE DIFFERENT VEHICLES RANGING IN YEARS FROM 2014 TO CURRENT HAVE HAD THIS SAME ISSUE. THE VEHICLE BEGAN HAVING THIS PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. WHEN TAKING MY VEHICLE INTO BE REPAIRED THIS ISSUE DIDN'T POP UP WHEN AT THE DEALERSHIP. UPON GETTING MY VEHICLE HOME THE AIRBAG LAMP BEGAN APPEARING. I RETURNED MY VEHICLE BACK TO THE REPAIR SHOP/DEALERSHIP TO WHICH I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOT A CHRYSLER TECH AVAILABLE AND THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SERVICE MY CAR. AFTER TAKING MY VEHICLE IN TODAY I WAS TOLD THE NEWS ABOUT THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. MY WARRANTY COVERAGE WON'T COVER THIS ISSUE DUE TO IT BEING A SAFETY MATTER. MY AIRBAG LAMP IS ON AT LEAST 90% OF THE TIME WHILE I AM DRIVING WITH AND WITH OUT PASSENGERS

VEHICLE SOUNDS AS IF IT WANTS TO SHUT OFF WHEN STANDING IDLE SOMETIMES AND EVEN SOMETIMES AS I'M SLOWING DOWN. HOWEVER, I RECEIVED AN EMAIL THAT THE CHRYSLER 200 ITSELF HAD RECALLS RELATING TO ELECTRICAL, STEERING AND OVERALL SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. EXACTLY ONE MONTH AFTER PURCHASING MY CHRYSLER 200 NOV 28, 2017BTHE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON DURING SHORT DRIVE TO THE MOVIES, AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO STALL WHILE WAITING AT A RED LIGHT. I HAD TO PAY ALMOST $400 TO REPLACE IGNITION COIL. THEN A MONTH AGO, 06/27/2018 ANOTHER IGNITION COIL FAILED COSTING ME $250, LUCKILY WHEN THE COIL FAILED I WAS IN LINE AT A STARBUCK'S DRIVETHRU. NOW ANOTHER COIL HAS FAILED LEAVING THE CAR UNDRIVEABLE AGAIN, AND NOW UNABLE TO AFFORD REPAIR. UNFORTUNATELY THE WARRANTY I PURCHASED WITH THE VEHICLE DOES NOT COVER THIS PART AND AFTER RECENTLY READING REVIEWS ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE I HAVE COME TO LEARN THAT THIS IS A RECURRING ISSUE THAT HAS NOT BEEN CALLED OUT, YET THIS VEHICLE IS STILL BE SOLD TO PEOPLE. I STRONGLY FEEL THAT IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN, BECAUSE IN THIS LAST INCIDENT MY COIL WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY CAR BEGAN TO STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC DURING A HEAT ADVISORY. I ALSO STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT THE PART THE IGNITION COILS ARE FAULTY AND ARE CAUSE FOR GREAT CONCERN.
TRANSMISSION IS ROUGH AND UNPREDICTABLE. EACH SHIFT AND DOWNSHIFT IS FELT IN THE THROTTLE(FEELS LIKE ENGINE BRAKING). TRANSMISSION OFTEN CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE OR DECELERATE UNINTENTIONALLY. SHIFTING GEARS SEEMS TO TAKE LONGER THAN IT SHOULD. TRANSMISSION WON'T DOWNSHIFT SOMETIMES WHEN APPROPRIATE THROTTLE IS GIVEN. BRAKING IS JERKY DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION ROUGH DOWN SHIFTING. CITY DRIVING IN THIS CAR IS UNCOMFORTABLE AND DANGEROUS DUE TO ALL THE ISSUES LISTED ABOVE.
I HAD A 2016 CHRYSLER 200 LIMITED. IF YOU NEED TO HAVE 18,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE YET AND I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. ON JUNE 5TH 2018 I HAD TO DROP MY DAUGHTER OFF AT SCHOOL I WAS ABOUT EIGHT BLOCKS AWAY FROM HER SCHOOL AND A GENTLEMAN PULLED ME OVER TO LET ME KNOW THAT I NEEDED TO GET OUT MY CAR BECAUSE UNDERNEATH MY CAR WAS ON FIRE. SO I TURN THE CORNER TO GET AWAY FROM THE SCHOOL IN THE PARK CARS CUT THE CAR OFF AND GOT OUT THE CAR NEXT THING I KNOW THE CAR BLOWS UP THE FIRE DEPARTMENT COMES AND PUT THE FIRE OUT. I WAS COMING TO A STOP AT A STOP SIGN, I WAS AT ABOUT 15MPH WHEN THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON. THE PARKING BRAKE ACTIVATED AND THE TRANSMISSION DROPPED OUT OF GEAR AS I CAME TO A SKIDDING HALT. SERVICE TRANSMISSION AND SERVICE PARKING BRAKE MESSAGES CAME UP ON THE DASH. THEN WOULDN'T SHIFT INTO ANY OTHER GEARS EVEN WITH THE TRANSMISSION OVERRIDE PULLED. LUCKILY I WAS ON A QUIETER ROAD IN MY TOWN.

WHILE IN MOTION MY CAR HAS STOPPED RUNNING ON 5 DIFFERENT TIMES, 3 OUT OF THE 5 TIMES I WAS IN CRUSIE CONTROL DRIVING ON THE HWY WHEN I LOST ALL CONTROL. THE OTHER 2 TIMES WAS IN TOWN AT A LOW SPEED. CAR IS ON BUT WONT GO ANY WHERE, ITS STUCK IN DRIVE THE ALARMS AND SEVERAL LIGHTS ON THE DASH COME ON RPM WILL RUM UP TO ABOUT 2000 BUT STILL WONT DO ANYTHING ELSE. TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SHIFTING HARD AND DRIVING HARD, QUITE A BIT HAD IT SERVICED 3TIMES, TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED THERE WAS A HOLE IN IT THAT CAME FROM INTERNAL. AIR BAG WIRING HARNAS HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL, HEAD LIGHT HARNEST HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO WIRES WERE SHORTING OUT MY BATTERY, IGINTION HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL DUE TO THE WIRING AND PROGRAM.
CONDUCTED PRE-TRIP SAFETY INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE. ALL LIGHTS, MIRRORS, GAUGES, AND SAFETY BELTS APPEARED TO BE IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. THERE WERE NO ACTIVE WARNING LIGHTS, FUEL LEVEL WAS APPROXIMATELY , AND ODOMETER LOG WAS ACCURATE. THE VEHICLE SHOWED NO SIGNS OF MECHANICAL DEFECTS TO INCLUDE VIBRATIONS, UNUSUAL NOISES, OR ODORS DURING INITIAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS RELATIVELY CLEAN INSIDE AND OUT. THE ONLY UNUSUAL DETAIL WE NOTICED WAS THE PRESENCE OF SEVERAL TICKS (PARASITES) INSIDE THE VEHICLE. 0900: ARRIVED ON SITE AT BLUE SPRINGS LAKE AND PARKED THE VEHICLE ON A GRAVEL ROAD WITH OTHER GOV VEHICLES. 1000: DROVE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY THREE MILES TO A GAS STATION TO USE RESTROOM AND RETURNED TO WORKSITE. THE VEHICLE, ONCE AGAIN, FAILED TO EXHIBITED ANY ABNORMALITIES. 1315: LEFT WORKSITE TRAVELING EASTBOUND ON HWY 40 AT 55 MPH. ALL FOUR WINDOWS WERE UP WITH AC ON FULL. AMBIENT TEMPERATURE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90F. 1320: SLOWED TO APPROXIMATELY 35MPH AS WE APPROACHED A RED LIGHT. I NOTICED WHITE SMOKE IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR. WE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT THE LIGHT AND OBSERVED WHITE AND BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF THE AIR CONDITIONER AND CHECKED THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE (25% OF MAX). I PULLED INTO THE RIGHT TURN LANE AND DROVE APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET TO AN EMPTY PARKING LOT. WE EXITED THE VEHICLE AND OBSERVED ORANGE FLAMES UNDERNEATH THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I INSTRUCTED MR. BAKER TO CALL 911 AND REPORT THE FIRE ALONG WITH OUR LOCATION. I SEARCHED FOR A FIRE EXTINGUISHER UNDER THE SEATS AND IN THE TRUNK WITHOUT SUCCESS. A FEW SECONDS LATER A GOOD SAMARITAN IN A WORK TRUCK STOPPED AND KNOCKED DOWN THE FLAMES WITH HIS FIRE EXTINGUISHER. MILEAGE = 42,351
THE VEHICLE WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING CAUSING YOU TO STOP, PLACE IN PARK AND RESTART. UPON TRYING TO RESTART IT STRUGGLES TO TURN OVER. SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING WITH THE CAR HAS SAT FOR AWHILE AND IS COLD. THE TEMP GAUGE SHOWS NOTHING ON IT. I KNOW THE CAR WILL STALL. IF THERE IS A LINE OR MORE ON THE TEMP GAUGE ON THE DASHBOARD IT DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE ANY ISSUES. THE VEHICLE IS ALSO NOT SHIFTING FROM GEAR TO GEAR PROPERLY. IT SEEMS TO NOT CATCH WHEN IT SHOULD GO TO THE NEXT GEAR. THE CAR WILL JERK.
MY RIGHT PASSENGER AIR BAG SENOR IS MALFUNCTIONING, HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT TELL ME WHY OR HOW THE SENOR WAS BROKEN. I SEE THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON SOME CHRYSLER VEHICLES THAT WERE MADE IN 2015 WHICH MINE WAS, BUT THEY CLAIM MY CAR IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE RECALL. WASHINGTON ' FIAT-CHRYSLER IS RECALLING 78 2015 CHRYSLER 200 SEDANS TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT AFFECTS THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND AIRBAG, ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION. "DURING SERVICE WORK, THE AFFECTED VEHICLES MAY HAVE HAD EITHER THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION MODULE OR THE SEAT CUSHION FOAM OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT REPLACED INSTEAD OF BOTH PIECES TOGETHER, WHICH MAKE UP A COMPLETE CALIBRATED SET," NHTSA SAID IN ITS RECALL SUMMARY. "IF BOTH PIECES WERE NOT REPLACED TOGETHER, THE OCCUPANT DETECTION AND CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM MAY NOT BE PROPERLY CALIBRATED AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG MAY IMPROPERLY DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY."
