TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKING, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER FRACTURED WHICH PREVENTED THE CONTACT FROM SHIFTING OUT OF PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C DOOR HANDLES FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW. AFTER A YEAR OR TWO WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, THE BACK EXTERIOR (CHROME) RIGHT DOOR HANDLE BECAME PARTIALLY DETACHED. I HAD IT REPAIRED AND SINCE THEN, THE VERY SAME DOOR HANDLE AS WELL AS THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS PARTIALLY DETACHED. ALSO, THE HANDLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS COMPLETELY DETACHED. THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW AND I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH IT. AS PRICEY AS THIS VEHICLE IS, YOU WOULD THINK THAT CHRYSLER WOULD USE THE BEST PARTS FOR THEIR VEHICLES. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THESE HANDLES. WHEN I REPLACED IT BEFORE, IT COST ABOUT $200 AND THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY TO REPLACE THESE HANDLES WHEN CLEARLY THERE IS AN ISSUE ON THEIR END. I ALSO WANT TO ADD THAT MY CAR HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE AFTER PUTTING GAS IN IT AND THE OIL LIGHT WOULD COME ON SOMETIMES. MY HEADLIGHTS ALSO DON'T WORK PROPERLY. I HAVE TO KEEP THE HEADLIGHT KNOB IN THE AUTO POSITION JUST FOR THEM TO REMAIN ON OTHERWISE THE LIGHTS WILL BLINK ON AND OFF. SO DURING THE DAYTIME, MY HEADLIGHTS ARE ON. I DIDN'T HAVE THIS ISSUE UNTIL AFTER I TOOK MY CAR FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT THE DEALERSHIP. I ABSOLUTELY HATE TO TAKE MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP (HEBERT'S TOWN & COUNTRY) BECAUSE THEY NEVER CAN SEEM TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR THEY END UP CREATING ONE. *TR
MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300 WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE. WHEN I WAS READY TO LEAVE IN THE MORNING, I STARTED THE CAR BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO SHIFT FROM "PARK" MODE. HAD IT TOWED TO MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER WHERE AN OVERHALL SHIFTER ASSY AND LEVER KIT - SHIFTER INTERLOCK WAS INSTALLED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY AND IGNITION MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THE VEHICLE NEEDED A TUNE-UP. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
FLOOR GEAR SHIFTER WILL NOT MOVE FROM PARK POSITION. CHRYSLER SAYS MY VIN WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM SO THEY WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF THE REPAIR COSTS. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW CHRYSLER CAN SAY SOME OF THE VEHICLES WITH FAULTY PART WILL BE COVERED BY RECALL AND OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WILL NOT BE. *TR
I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE FROM CAR MAX USED ABOUT 15 MONTHS AGO AND MY VEHICLES ENGINE HAS GONE OUT ALREADY AT ONLY 85480 MILES ON IT. I WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT MY ENGINE IS ABOUT TO THROW A ROD. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE AND HAVE FOUND PAGES OF COMPLAINTS FROM PEOPLE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE CLAIMING THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THEIR CARS. WHEN I SPOKE WITH THE MECHANIC ABOUT THIS HE SAID THAT HE HAS SEEN COUNTLESS CUSTOMERS WITH THIS ISSUE AND HE HAS FOUND THAT THE VALVES IN THE ENGINE ARE DEFECTIVE BECAUSE THEY DON'T ALLOW THE OIL TO FLOW THROUGH THE ENGINE WHICH CAUSES THE ENGINE TO GO OUT.
TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT EVERY TWO YEARS
ENGINE BEGIN MAKING A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP COULD NOT TURN OR DO ANYTHING WITH THE CAR. I IMMEDIATELY PUT HAZARDS ON, NOISE STOPPED CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN UNTIL IT COMPLETELY STOPPED. CAR WOULD NOT START BACK . LATER FOUND OUT IT WAS DO TO OIL SLUDGE BUILT UP. OIL LIGHT NEVER CAME ON WHEN THE OIL WAS OUT CAUSING ENGINE FAILURE. *TR
MY CAR STALLS AFTER FILL UP, ONLY AFTER I FILL IT UP DOES IT STALL NOT AT ANY OTHER TIME.! THE CAR DRIVE AT 60 MILESHOUR CUT OFF ALL LIGHT COME ON DASHBORD AN STOP THEN CRANT BACKUP AN DRIVE AGAIN.
VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. VEHICLE WILL START NORMALLY, HOWEVER THE CONSOLE MOUNTED AUTOMATIC SHIFTER WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE WITH THE PINK PLASTIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK LATCH. THE TAB THAT IS CONNECTED TO THE RETURN SPRING FAILS AND DOES NOT ALLOW THE TRANSMISSION TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THIS WAS DISCUSSED WITH LOCAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER VEHICLES. AN INTERNET RESEARCH HAS INDICATED THIS TO BE A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEMS FOR 2005-2007 CHRYSLER, DODGE VEHICLES TO THE EXTENT THAT THERE IS AN AFTER-MARKED ALUMINUM PART TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. IF THE ISSUE IS SUFFICIENT TO WARRANT AN AFTER-MARKED PART TO BE CREATED IT IS SERIOUS ENOUGH TO WARRANT INVESTIGATION AND CONSIDERATION FOR A RECALL.
ENGINE STALLS AT STOPLIGHT OR FOR PENDING TURN. REPEATEDLY, WITH A FULL AND 3/4 FULL TANK. GAS TANK REPLACED, HOWEVER ENGINE CONTINUES TO STALL. REPLACED MAP SENSOR, YET STALLING CONTINUES.
TRIED TO LEAVE WORK AND GEAR SHIFT STUCK IN PARK. GOT A RIDE HOME AND GOOGLED FINDING MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS. FOUND K39 RECALL AND CALLED THE RECALL CENTER. THEY SAID MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED AND I ASKED WHY? IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL COVERED UNDER K39. THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. WHAT A CROCK! NOT BUYING A CHRYSLER EVER AGAIN. *TR
AFTER FILLING MY FUEL TANK, THE CAR IDLED ERRATICALLY, SURGED, AND DIED MULTIPLE TIMES, USUALLY RIGHT AFTER TAKEOFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY TIME I HAVE FILLED MY FUEL TANK FOR THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS, AND HAS NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. *TR

2006 CHRYSLER 300. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE STALLED IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND GAS LINE FACTORY MALFUNCTION. *SMD
JUST PURCHASED USED CHRYSLER 300 TOURING AWD SEDAN WITH 56,414 MILES ON IT AND BY THE TIME I GOT IT HOME (AN HOUR DRIVE AWAY I NOTICED BINDING IN THE FRONT WHEELS WHEN I TURNED INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND AGAIN WHEN I WAS LEAVING MY DRIVEWAY TO ENTER THE ROAD. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP (REN KIRBY CHEVROLET, BUICK, GMC) BUT THE DRIVE TRAIN IS NOT COVERED UNDER MY LIMITED 3 MONTH 3,000 MILE WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP FOUND THAT THE PLANETARY GEARS IN TRANSFER CASE ARE BINDING IN FRONT WHEEL PORTION OF AWD DRIVE-TRAIN, IF ALLOWED TO CONTINUE WITHOUT SERVICE THIS COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND/OR FRONT AXLE SEPARATION RESULTING IN LOSS OF ONE OR BOTH FRONT WHEELS. ESTIMATED COST OF REPAIRS IN EXCESS OF $1000.00 AND THAT IS ONLY IF IT IS JUST THE GEAR ISSUE! THIS ITEM SHOULD BE RECALLED ASAP AS I AM FINDING OUT ON SEVERAL VARIOUS AUTO BLOGS THAT THIS IS A COMMON SAFETY ISSUE! *TR
ENGINE JUST WENT OUT NO WARNING HAD CUT OFF AN WOULD NOT START.
DRIVING ON TO THE FREEWAY THERE WAS A CLICK SOUND AND THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN HAD TO TAKE QUICK REACTION AS THIS IS THE ENTRY TO A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY. MANAGED TO GET INTO THE BREAKDOWN LANE CAR WOULD NOT GO FORWARD PUT IT IN REVERSE AND IT WORKED THEN PUT IT BACK INTO DRIVE AND MANAGED TO CRAWL HOME. THE GEARING IS NOT CHANGING THROUGH THE GEARS. THIS IS JUST AFTER A ROCKER ARM ASSEMBLY BEING PUT INTO THIS VEHICLE TWO WEEKS AGO. WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN ON A BUSY ROAD, TURNED OUT IT WAS THE REMOTE START WHICH WAS ON THE CAR WHEN FIRST PURCHASED. WHAT A NIGHTMARE THIS VEHICLE IS. *TR

THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT, BUT INFO FOR OTHER CHRYSLER OWNERS WITH THE FUEL FILL/STALLING PROBLEM. WE JUST RECEIVED A LETTER FROM CHRYSLER, TELLING US THEY HAVE ISSUED A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THE COMPONENTS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM. WE MADE AN APPOINTMENT AND HAD OUR 2006 300 FIXED IN 2 DAYS! THE FUEL TANK AND INTERNAL VALVES WERE REPLACED AFTER REMOVING THE EXHAUST AND DRIVELINE. THE JOB TOOK 5-6 HOURS AND WE WERE NOT CHARGED A CENT! THE CAR IS AGAIN RUNNING VERY WELL WITHOUT STALLING. AFTER I FILLED UP MY GAS TANK AND LEFT THE GAS STATION, WHEN I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP MY CAR SHUT OFF. WHEN I RESTARTED IT, MY RPMS RAISED TREMENDOUSLY AND MY GEARS STARTED SHIFTING AUTOMATICALLY AND WHEN I CAME TO ANOTHER STOP MY CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN. I ONLY BEEN HAVING THE CAR 3 WEEKS AND I NOTICED THAT IT ALWAYS HAPPENS AFTER A FILL-UP FOR A FEW HOURS HERE AND THERE. ONCE MY GAS NEEDLE MOVES A LITTLE BIT BELOW FULL, THE CAR RUNS PERFECTLY FINE! *JS
I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH THE CAR STALLING OUT OR BOGGING DOWN SHORTLY AFTER REFUELING AND MANY TIMES HAPPENING WITHIN LESS THAN A MILE OF REFUELING. I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR INTO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHO CAN NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEMS (AND AM NOW BEING STUCK PAYING A $95 DIAGNOSTIC FEE), AND CALLING CHRYSLER DIRECTLY WHO IS UNWILL TO TRY TO ASSIST. THE DIAGNOSIS FROM THE PRIVATE MECHANIC WAS THAT THE TRANSMISSION GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
I WAS TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY POSTED LEGAL SPEED 65MP AS I RELEASED THE GAS PEDAL IT BROKE AND FELL ON THE FLOOR BODY OF THE DRIVER SIDE. I THEN QUICKLY TURNED ON THE CRUISE CONTROL TO NAVIGATE MY SPEED FOR THE NEAREST SAFE EXIT TO INSPECT THE DAMAGE. DAMAGE WAS CLEAR THAT THE GAS PEDAL HOUSING UNIT WAS BROKEN FROM THE SCREW ENDS OF THE UNIT, AS THE HOUSING UNIT IS MADE OF HIGH GRADE PLASTIC. *TR
CAR ENGINE STALLS AFTER REFUELING. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A YEAR. I JUST FOUND THE NHTSA STUDY ON THE PROBLEM. *TR
AFTER I START THE CAR I TRY TO SHIFT IT OUT OF PARK, I HAVE TO FORCE IT TO SHIFT. I HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME BEFORE AND HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THE MECHANIC. THE GEAR SHIFTER HAD TO BE REPLACED. I AM HAVING TO FORCE IT TO SHIFT BUT KNOW IT WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED SOONER OR LATER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE FLIPPED OVER. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED AND RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,500. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE OIL WAS CHANGED TWICE BY A LOCAL MECHANIC AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE NOR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO PASS AN INSPECTION DUE TO THE VEHICLE HAVING A FRACTURED PASSENGER SIDE TIE ROD. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED THE RIGHT TIE ROD. THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED TO BE INSPECTED AND REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,430.

THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. IT STARTED OCCURRING 12000 MILES AGO. TODAY WAS THE LAST STRAW. AFTER FILLING MY TANK OVER THIS PAST YEAR, I'VE LEARNED THAT I CAN ONLY FILL MY TANK TO 3/4 FULL TO AVOID THE STALLING AND SPUTTERING. THIS MEANS I HAVE TO HAVE MY IGNITION TURNED ON SO THAT I CAN WATCH WHEN THE FUEL GETS TO 3/4. THIS ALONE IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS IT COULD SPARK. TODAY I FILLED IT TO 3/4 FOREVER IT SHUT OFF AT THE PUMP JUST BEFORE IT GOT TO 3/4... WHEN I STARTED THE CAR THE FULL INDICATOR WAS FULL. I KNEW THIS MEANT I WOULD HAVE A SCARY RIDE HOME. IT STALLED LEAVING THE GAS STATION AND TWO MORE TIMES WHILE WAITING AT THE FIRST LIGHT. I MADE IT ABOUT A MILE AND WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN AND IT CUT OUT AT ABOUT 35. I WAS MAKING THE TURN WITH NO POWER AND ALMOST HIT A POLE. I PUT ON MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS AND WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY ONLY SELECTED VIN NUMBERS WERE SELECTED AGAINST PE13-016. LOOKING ONLINE THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS AND I DID NOT SEE ANY OWNERS WHO'S VINS WERE COVERED. WHERE IS A COPY OF THIS LIST AND HOW MANY VINS WERE ON THIS LIST? CHRYSLER NEEDS TO TAKE A STAND AND OWN UP TO RECALLING ALL VINS FOR THIS MODEL MAKE AND YEAR. I'VE NEVER HEARD OF A SELECTED RECALL. I AM DOCUMENTING THIS SAFETY CONCERN EVERYWHERE I CAN AS I AM SCARED FOR MY LIFE AND HOPE SOMEONE TAKES THIS SERIOUSLY AND QUIT BLAMING THE OWNERS OF OVERFILLING THE TANKS. I STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND THE CAR STALLED. IT STARTED RIGHT UP, BUT HAD A HARD TIME FINDING DRIVE WHEN I PUT IT INTO DRIVE. AFTER THAT IT RAN FINE. THIS SAME PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED MANY TIMES SINCE. IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY WITH NO WARNING. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN AFTER REFUELING, BUT ALSO HAPPENS AT ANY FUEL TANK GAUGE READING. ALSO THE CAR HESITATES AT FREEWAY SPEEDS ON OCCASION, BUT DOESN'T STALL WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I TOOK THE CAR TO TWO DEALERS AND AFTER SPENDING $500 THEY COULDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY WERE NO HELP. MY WIFE WON'T DRIVE THE CAR AND I FEAR IT WILL STALL PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AFTER A STOP. AFTER SOME INVESTIGATION I HAVE REALIZED THAT THOUSANDS OF 2006 300C OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND CHRYSLER IS FULLY AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. HOW THE DEALERS CAN PRETEND THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM AND TAKE MONEY FROM ME TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH MY CAR, KNOWING THEY WON'T FIX IT, HAS TO BE CRIMINAL. VERY SOON AFTER PURCHASING THE 2006 CHRYSLER 300C (USED), IT BEGAN SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS. AFTER "GOOGLING" IS SEEMS PEOPLE ALL OVER WITH THIS VEHICLE HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS, AN SOME WERE ATTRIBUTING THIS TO FILING UP THE GAS TANK. WE TOOK DUE CAUTION NOT TO FILL UP THE TANK (HOW RIDICULOUS IS THIS?) AND THE PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED. AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS PURCHASED FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP WE PURCHASED AT. AFTER THE RUN AROUND ABOUT WHO ACTUALLY "FIXES" THE CAR, IT WAS TAKEN TO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP WHO CHARGED US $400.00 FOR A BATTERY AND THEN REPLACED SOME WIRING HARNESS WHICH DID NOTHING. WE ARE BACK AT IT WITH THE DEALERSHIP. I SEE AN ARTICLE IN THE LA TIMES ON THE INTERNET SAYING TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THAT'S NOT HELPING. WE HAVEN'T PUT 2,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE IN ALMOST A YEAR NOW. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND HAS NO VALUE. HELP. NHTSA OBVIOUSLY KNOWS ABOUT THIS. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP THAT REPAIRED THE STRUCTURAL DAMAGES, BUT THE AIR BAG MALFUNCTION WAS NOT INVESTIGATED. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A PARKED VEHICLE AGAIN. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED AN INJURY TO THE HUMERUS AND RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT LATER RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V817000 (AIR BAGS) BUT EXPERIENCED TWO CRASHES IN WHICH THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY BEFORE THE RECALL REPAIR WAS ABLE TO BE PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE CRASHES. THE AIR BAG MALFUNCTION WAS NOT INVESTIGATED FOR EITHER CRASH. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE AXLE AND THE LOWER CONTROL ARM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
I HAD JUST FILLED UP THE TANK AND PULLED ACROSS THE STREET AND INTO A PARKING LOT. AS I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT THE CAR DIED. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT RESTARTED AFTER ABOUT THREE ATTEMPTS. AFTER LEAVING THE STORE I DROVE HOME AND IT DIED ON ME AT THE END ON THE PARKING LOT AS I WAS PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. IT DIED ONCE MORE AS I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A RESIDENTIAL AREA AT APPROX. 25 MPH. AFTER I GOT IT HOME, I ALLOWED IT TO IDLE IN THE DRIVEWAY FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES WITH NO PROBLEM. AFTER EATING DINNER I TOOK IT FOR A DRIVE AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN AT AN INTERSECTION. IT DIED AND TOOK ABOUT FIVE ATTEMPTS TO GET IT RESTARTED. *TR UPDATED 10/1/2014 *JS

AFTER FILLING CAR WITH FUEL CAR STARTS BUCKING AND STALLS. RESTARTS AND BUCKS AND STALLS A FEW MORE TIMES THEN RUNS FINE UNTIL NEXT TIME WE FILL UP. WE CANNOT FILL THE FUEL TANK UP OR TAKE A SERIOUS CHANCE OF HAVING CAR STALL IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE ASKED CHRYSLER IF THERE WAS A RECALL OR FIX FOR THIS AND WAS TOLD BY SERVICE MANGER THAT HE WAS NOT AWARE. THEY SUGGESTED THAT I NEED FUEL TANK UNIT $1,158.00. I HAVE READ THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING SAME PROBLEMS AND ONLY FIX IS TO PAY FOR A NEW GAS TANK AS THIS IS ONLY FIX. CHRYSLER SHOULD FIX THIS FOR NO CHARGE AS IT IS PART OF THE EMISSION SYSTEM. I'M TERRIFIED TO HAVE MY SON IN THE CAR THAT WE'LL BE HURT OR KILLED BY THIS FLAW IN THE FUEL TANK. I HOPE WE CAN GET SOME HELP TO GET THIS REPAIRED. THANKS. *TR
ON APRIL 9TH AT APPROXIMATELY 6:00 P.M. I FILLED MY CAR WITH FUEL UNTIL THE PUMP SHUT OFF. AFTER REPLACING THE FUEL LID I DROVE ABOUT 1/4 MILE AND STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. ALMOST AS SOON AS I STOPPED THE ENGINE STARTED TO RUN ROUGH, AS IF IT WERE RUNNING OUT OF FUEL AND STOPPED. I PLACED THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, STARTED THE ENGINE AND DROVE ANOTHER BLOCK BEFORE STOPPING AT ANOTHER TRAFFIC SIGNAL. AGAIN, THE ENGINE SPUTTERED AND STOPPED. I GOT IT STARTED AND REACHED PARK MANOR NURSING HOME AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF WHILE I WENT TO VISIT. WHEN I LEFT THE NURSING HOME, I WENT DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AND ABOUT 1/8 MILE TO A 5 LANE INTERSECTION THAT HAD A TRAFFIC SIGNAL. THE ENGINE SPUTTERED AND STOPPED AGAIN JUST AS THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. I HAD TO QUICKLY PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO RESTART IT THEN CAREFULLY LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL ENOUGH TO PUT THE GEAR SHIFT BACK IN "D" AND DRIVE AWAY. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I EXPERIENCED ANY ENGINE STOPS, BUT IT SEEMS TO BE PRETTY DANGEROUS, SINCE YOU CANNOT PREDICT WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN AND NOTHING SEEMED TO TRIGGER THE FAULTS. EACH TIME THE ENGINE STOPPED, I NOTICED THE OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR WAS DISPLAYED AND WATCHED IT RISE TO NORMAL WHEN THE ENGINE STARTED AGAIN. *TR
AFTER FUELING MY CAR, I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR STALLING UNTIL I RUN SOME FUEL OUT OF MY CAR. NOW AFTER I STILL HAVE MORE THEN 3/4 TANK OF GAS, MY CAR WILL ACT FUEL STARVED GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY TO AN ALMOST STALL THEN COME BACK ON BY ITSELF. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS CAR AND NEVER HEARD FROM THE DEALER OF A GAS TANK, CHARCOAL FILTER RECALL AND NOW IT IS CANCELED??? *JS
