ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ANYWHERE FROM 20-40 MPH - OR WHEN THE CAR IS IN IDLE MODE - ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF. SOMETIMES AFTER REFUELING AS WELL - GAS TANK WAS REPLACED WITH THE WARRANTY ISSUED BY CHRYSLER BY AN AUTHORIZED CHRYSLER DEALER HOWEVER A DAY OR TWO LATER I WAS BACK TO SEEING THE SAME ENGINE SHUT OFF ISSUES. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS NOT TAKEN AS A SEVERE SAFETY CONCERN. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT OR KILLED DUE TO THIS ENGINE SHUT OFF ISSUE - IT SHOULD BE REINVESTIGATED. *TR
CONTINUES TO STALL AND ULTIMATELY STOP WHILE DRIVING
THE 300 HAD A RECALL ON THE FUEL TANK, WHICH WAS REPLACED JANUARY 2015 BY TATE IN FREDERICK MD. SINCE THEN THE STALLING ISSUE HAS GOTTEN WORSE. I TOOK THE CAR TO TATE 4 TIMES, AND WAS TOLD 4 DIFFERENT DIAGNOSTICS. 1= TRANSMISSION, 2= BATTERY, 3=PLUGS & COILS, 4=CANISTER FOR EXTRA FUEL. I REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS & COILS. WHICH DIDN'T CORRECT THE ISSUE. I TOOK IT TO A 2ND DEALER. DARCAR'S IN ROCKVILLE MD AND THEY ARE NOW TELLING ME THAT ITS THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE & POWER CONTROL MODULE. MY CAR NO MATTER IF THERE IS A FULL TANK OR A 1/4 OF TANK STALLS WHEN I AM AT IDLE. IT CAN STALL ONCE OR THE MAX IS 9 TIMES. I HAVE A 1 1/2 YEAR OLD & 5 YEAR OLD WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I FOUND THIS FORUM, WHICH ARE OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE & DIFFERENT DEALERS ARE THROWING DIFFERENT PARTS. I DON'T THINK THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL TANK CORRECTED THIS TRUE ISSUE. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME WITH DISCOVERING THE TRUE CAUSE AND MAKING THE CARS SAFE FOR THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS? *TR
VEHICLE STALLS AFTER FILL UP AT GAS STATIONS. HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 10 TIMES IN LAST 2 YEARS. CALLED CHRYSLER IN REFERENCE TO NHTSA ACTION NUMBER PE13016. DESPITE THEIR CLAIM IN THE NHTSA ACTION THAT OWNER LETTERS MAILING BEGAN IN JANUARY 2014, I WAS TOLD THAT AS OF APRIL 2, 2014, THE LIFE TIME WARRANTY HAS NOT YET BEEN MADE OFFICIAL AND NO LETTERS HAVE YET BEEN SENT. AS OF APRIL 2, 2014, CHRYSLER IS NOT HONORING THE CLAIM THEY MADE TO CAUSE THE NHTSA TO CLOSE THIS CASE. FOLLOW UP BY NHTSA IS NEEDED HERE. *TR
SINCE LAST MARCH MY CHRYSLER 300C SRT8 2006 IS TURNING OFF THE ENGINE WHILE IN MOVEMENT. I NOTICED THE PROBLEM ALWAYS HAPPEN WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS FULL OR AROUND 3/4. IT'S A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM BECAUSE I ALMOST CRASHED THE CAR MANY TIMES CONSIDERING THAT WHEN THE ENGINE TURNS OFF THE STEERING GETS HEAVY AND THE BRAKES DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY. NOW I'M NOT CONFIDENT TO PUT MY FAMILY IN THE CAR BECAUSE I AM AFRAID TO HAVE A COLLISION AND HURT MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. I MADE A RESEARCH AT THE INTERNET AND I REALIZED THAT A LOT OF 300C OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM THAT IT'S CALLED AS ENGINE STALL. NOW I WANT CHRYSLER TO HELP ME TO SOLVE THIS MATTER CONSIDERING IT ALREADY HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND IT'S VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH THIS DEFECTIVE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE OUT OF PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 109,000.
DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON INTERSTATE AND THE CAR LUNGED AND THEN SEEMED TO BE FINE, UNTIL GETTING OFF THE INTERSTATE AND STOPPING AT THE LIGHT IT WAS VERY OBVIOUS IT WAS MISSING OUT. IT DID NOT THROW A ENGINE CODE UNTIL PULLING INTO DRIVEWAY. I IMMEDIATELY DID A SCAN AND CAME UP WITH A P1414 CYLINDER 4 REACTIVATION CONTROL PERFORMANCE POSSIBLE CAUSES (K452) MDS SOLENOID NO.4 CONTROL SHORT TO VOLTAGE OIL PASSAGES RESTRICTED LIFTER MDS SOLENOID NO.4 PCM WE THEN TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY CHARGED ME A 125.00 TO TELL ME WHAT I ALREADY TOLD THEM. AND FOLLOWED UP WITH THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME 600.00 TO TEAR IT DOWN AND INSPECT IT FURTHER. SO I DID THE TEAR DOWN MYSELF AND THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE FOUND TO EXPLAIN WHY A CAR WITH ONLY 92000 MILES ON IT AND 5-20 ROYAL PURPLE OIL AND K&N OIL FILTER WERE CHANGED ON A RELIGIOUS BASES, AND CLEAN COOLANT WOULD CAUSE A PISTON TO BASICALLY DESTROY ITSELF. THE MOTOR HAS TO BE REPLACED COSTING OVER $6000 ALMOST MORE THEN CAR IS WORTH RUNNING. *TR
2006 CHRYSLER 300C, 5.7L HEMI ENGINE, I HAD DRIVEN THE VEHICLE APPROX, 25 MILES WITH NO PROBLEMS. STOPPED IN A PARKING LOT, WENT INTO THE BUSINESS. WHEN I CAME OUT TO START MY ENGINE, THE CAR WOULD NOT START. THE ENGINE WOULD CRANK BUT NOT RUN. I CALLED ROADSIDE SERVICE FOR HELP. THEY COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO RUN. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. THE SHOP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. THE SHOP REPORTED TO ME THAT 3 CYLINDERS HAD NO COMPRESSION, THE VALVES HAD DROPPED DOWN INTO THE MOTOR, THREE SPARK PLUGS WERE CRUSHED. I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON THIS MODEL ENGINE, THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER 5.7 HEMI'S. THE VALVE RETAINERS FAIL AND LET THE VALVE DROP AND CAUSE SEVERE ENGINE DAMAGE. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF I HAD BEEN NOTIFIED. THERE IS A RETRO-FIT AVAILABLE TO CHANGE THE VALVE RETAINERS. I NOW HAVE A CURRENT BILL FOR THE DIAGNOSIS, REMOVAL AND INSTALL A USED ENGINE FOR $8,063.26. THIS CHARGE CAN GO UP IF THE RETRO-FIT HAS NOT BEEN DONE YET. I AM WAITING TO FIND OUT IF THE REPLACEMENT USED ENGINE HAS BEEN RETRO-FITTED. *TR
AFTER I FILL MY TANK THE VEHICLE WILL STALL OVER AND OVER. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED THEN THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED TWO WEEKS AFTER THE FIRST FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO REPLACED THE FAULTY VACUUM CANISTER AND FUEL TANK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,069. UPDATED 6/27/14*CN
WHILE TRYING TO MERGE ON THE FREEWAY THE MOTOR STALLED AND MADE A ROLLING DRUMMING NOT A HIGH PITCH NOISE WOULDN'T RE START TOWED IT HOME GOT IT STARTED AND THE ENGINE IS MAKING A LOUD SQUEAK NOISE IT WON'T IDLE ON ITS OWN AND IT STALLS WHEN PUT INTO GEAR. *TR
MY CHRYSLER 300C HEMI STARTED IDLING ROUGH AND SHOWING CODE P0300. OIL/PLUGS WERE CHANGED, AND MY CAR WORKED WELL FOR ~500 MILES. AFTER WHICH THE LOW OIL LEVEL LIGHT CHIMMED. AFTER TAKING TO THE DEALER THE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH WAS REPLACED AND ALL WAS RIGHT. CLOSE TO A MONTH LATER, WHILE STOPPED AT A RAIL CROSSING THE CAR STALLED WITH ERROR CODE P1520. I CHECKED THE OIL WHICH WAS LOW AND ADDED TO THE CORRECT LEVEL. IN THE OIL, THERE WAS NO DISCOLORATION OR ANYTHING TO CAUSE ALARM. I STARTED THE ENGINE UP AND WHILE THE P1520 WAS GONE I HAD THE P0300. AFTER REMOVING THE MANIFOLD SMALL ALUMINUM PIECES WHERE FOUND INSIDE. PLUGS THAT WERE CLOSE TO 4K MILES OLD WERE ASH COVERED AND THROTTLE BODY. VALVES AND CYLINDER #3 HEAD NEED TO BE REPLACED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER REFULING CAR, DEPARTED GAS STATION AND CAR STALLED COMPLETELY WHEN IN MIDDLE OF LEFT HAND TURN INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. PLACED CAR IN NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED IT. DEPARTED AND STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN 100 YARDS AWAY FROM TURN. CAR DIED AGAIN. PLACED CAR IN NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED IT. IT RAN SLOWLY FOR 50 YARDS OR SO AND DIED AGAIN WHILE SLOWING DOWN IN TRAFFIC. RESTARTED THE CAR IN TRAFFIC AND IT RAN FINE FOR 1/4 MILE WHEN IT DIED COMPLETELY AGAIN AT A STOP LIGHT. AGAIN, I RESTARTED THE CAR AND WAS ABLE TO KEEP IT GOING WITHOUT STOPPING FOR 3-4 MILES. HAVE NOT HAD THE PROBLEM SINCE TURNING OFF THE ENGINE OVERNIGHT. *TR
2006 CHRYSLER 300C, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. TRANSMISSION SHIFTER WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A PINK PLASTIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER. THIS LEVER HAS A HOOK FOR THE SPRING TO HOOK ONTO. THE HOOK BROKE, CAUSING THE SHIFTER TO LOCK IN THE "PARK" POSITION. THIS LEAVES THE CAR INOPERABLE. *TR
IN MAY 2013, THE NHTSA BEGAN AN INVESTIGATION (PE13-016) INTO NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT ENGINE STALLING IN 2006 CHRYSLER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 5.7L 8-CYLINDER ENGINES. IN FEBRUARY 2014, CHRYSLER ANNOUNCED THAT IT HAD DEVELOPED IMPROVED PARTS TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM, AND WOULD EXTEND THE WARRANTY PERIOD ON 19-GALLON FUEL TANKS TO LIFETIME COVERAGE FOR THE 153,817 AFFECTED VEHICLES. IN FEBRUARY 2014 THE NHTSA ACCEPTED THIS SOLUTION PROPOSED BY CHRYSLER AND CLOSED THE INVESTIGATION.CHRYSLER SENT ME AN EMAIL ON MARCH 13,2014 INFORMING ME, WITHOUT EXPLANATION, THAT THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THEIR AGREEMENT WITH THE NHTSA, AND WOULD NOT PROVIDE A LIFETIME WARRANTY FOR MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C FUEL TANK. *TR
FOR SOME TIME NOW, THERE IS A LOUD METALLIC TAPPING COMING FROM THE ENGINE. SOUNDS AS IF IT MAY BE COMING FROM THE ENGINE'S HEAD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. *TR
WHEN I STARTED PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY IT STARTED TO SHUTTER BADLY AND STALLED OUT. IT STARTED BACK UP BUT IT IMMEDIATELY WAS RUNNING VERY ROUGH AS IF IT WASN'T RUNNING ON ALL CYLINDERS. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC WHERE HE PUT IT ON THE SCANNER AND A CODE CAME UP STATING THAT THE #6 CYLINDER WAS FAULTY. WHEN RUNNING THE CAR HAS NO POWER AND YOU CAN HEAR A DISTINCT CLICKING OF THE MDS SOLENOID. AS IT CLICK ON AND OFF THE CARS IDLE WAS NORMAL THEN VERY ROUGH. SERVICE RECORDS ARE IMMACULATE, OIL CHANGED EVERY 3000 MILES WITH MOBIL 5-20 FULL SYNTHETIC. SERVICE SUGGESTIONS HAVE BEEN STRICTLY FOLLOWED. THE SOLENOID WAS CHANGED OUT AND IT RAN FINE FOR ABOUT 500 MILES AND THEN IT STARTED DOING IT AGAIN, VERY RANDOM AND MOSTLY WHEN YOU GO INTO PASSING GEAR ON THE FREEWAY THAT'S WHEN YOU TOTALLY LOSE POWER AND IT SHUTTERS VIOLENTLY. WE CANT FIND ANYTHING FOR SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO FIX IT EXCEPT THAT IT MAY BE A BAD COMPUTER OR A CLOGGED OIL PORT IN THE CYLINDER HEAD. BOTH POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS ARE VERY COSTLY AND I WOULD HATE TO SPEND ALL THAT MONEY AND IT NOT FIX THE ISSUE. THERE IS A SERIOUS ISSUE BECAUSE OF THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM COULD VERY WELL CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR
STALLING 2-3 TIMES AFTER FILLING TANK UP. THEN WILL DRIVE FINE. CALLED CHRYSLER SAID THERE WAS NO EXTENDED WARRANTY TO FIX PROBLEM. *TR
AFTER FILLING THE CAR UP WITH FUEL THE CAR STALLED AND HAD TO BE RESTARTED AFTER STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHTS. IT ALSO SPUTTERED AND WANTED TO QUIT RUNNING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO LUSTINE CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP, AND RAM LTD. IN WOODBRIDGE. WE WERE TOLD THE FUEL TANK AND CARBON CANISTER NEEDS REPLACED BECAUSE SOME FLAPPER IS BAD ALLOWING FUEL TO ENTER THE CANISTER ON FILL-UPS. *TR
VERY SHORTLY AFTER REFUELING MY CAR (PROBABLY DRIVEN LESS THAN 1000 FEET) THE CAR SHUTTERED AND STALLED. IT RESTARTED IMMEDIATELY BUT THEN SHUT DOWN AGAIN WITHIN THE MILE. AGAIN, IT STARTED IMMEDIATELY AND I HAD NO MORE PROBLEMS UNTIL THE NEXT TIME I FILLED THE TANK AND IT STALLED AGAIN ALMOST IMMEDIATELY UPON EXITING THE GAS STATION. AGAIN, IT RESTARTED ON THE FIRST TRY AND I HAD NO MORE PROBLEMS FOR THE REST OF THE TRIP OR SINCE. HOWEVER, I HAVE NOT REFUELED SINCE; SO DON'T KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN I DO. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A DEALER AND IT IS DEEMED I NEED A NEW GAS TANK. GAS TANKS SHOULD NOT WEAR OUT AND OUR CAR IS LOW MILEAGE AND IN MINT CONDITION. THIS SEEMS LIKE A FAULTY DESIGN PROBLEM. IT IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY CAR AND I SUSPECT WITH OTHERS WHO OWN THE SAME MODEL. (I DID NOT "TOP OFF" THE TANK ON EITHER OCCASION.) *TR
ON THREE OCCASIONS THE CAR STALLED, TWICE WHILE SITTING WAITING FOR A STOP LIGHT CHANGE AND ONCE WHEN ENTERING THE STREET FROM AN ACCESS STREET GOING APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES PER HOUR. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. *TR
AFTER FILLING GAS TANK. ENGINE STALLED AND CUT-OFF. *TR
THE CAR WAS FILLED UP WITH FUEL AND NO MORE THAN 2-5 MILES FROM THE GAS STATION WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE CUT OFF WITH NO WARNING WHILE IN TRAFFIC. WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND CONTINUE ON AND WITHIN A MILE IT STALLED OUT AGAIN IN TRAFFIC. THIS TIME THE CAR WOULD NOT START. THE CAR WAS PUSHED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT WAS ALSO COMING ON SO DID NOT WANT TO PUSH THE CAR AND CAUSE FURTHER DAMAGE. AFTER 45 MINS I RESTARTED THE CAR FINE AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE 1 MILE BEFORE IT STALLED OUT AT A STOP SIGN. AGAIN NO WARNING AND THE CAR LOST ALL POWER AND YOU WERE UNABLE TO STOP THE CAR EASILY OR TURN THE WHEEL SINCE ALL POWER WAS LOST. THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT DID COME ON AGAIN BUT DID NOT OCCUR UNTIL AFTER THE CAR ENGINE CUT OFF AND ALL POWER WAS LOST. THIS TIME I CHECKED THE OIL AND THE LEVEL WAS FINE BUT I STILL ADDED AN EXTRA QUART OF OIL. THEN WITHIN 5 MINS I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR AND DRIVE IT THE REST OF THE WAY 1-2 MILES TO THE DEALERSHIP. UPON ARRIVING AT THE DEALERSHIP WE CHECKED THE ERROR CODED. THE DEALERSHIP THAN CHANGED THE OIL AND DID A FULL INSPECTION AND DRIVE OF THE CAR AND WAS UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE ISSUE I WAS SEEING BEFORE GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP. *TR
IMMEDIATELY AFTER REFUELING, MY CAR STALLED THREE TIMES ON MY DRIVE HOME, EACH TIME WHEN I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 5 MPH APPROACHING A STOP SIGN. SINCE THEN, I HAVE DRIVEN ABOUT 200 MILES AND HAVE HAD NO STALLING PROBLEM. I TOOK MY CAR TO A LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER AND THEY COULD FIND NO COMPUTER CODE ERROR, AND TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED A NEW FUEL TANK, CHRYSLER RECEIVED MORE THAN 1200 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE 19-GALLON FUEL TANK ON 2006 CHRYSLER 300C, A PROBLEM WHERE THE FUEL SHUT-OFF VALVE STICKS, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL AFTER REFUELING. IN RESPONSE TO THESE COMPLAINTS, CHRYSLER AGREED TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY PERIOD TO LIFETIME COVERAGE. I CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE TODAY. THEY REFUSED TO HONOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR MY 19-GALLON FUEL TANK AS THEY AGREED TO IN THEIR LETTER -PE1016-58863.PDF.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,850.
RE: PE-13-016 COVERING 2006 CHRYSLER 300C VEHICLES WITH 5.7 L HEMI ENGINES THAT MAY STALL AFTER REFUELING I SPOKE TODAY BY PHONE WITH "[XXX]", A SUPERVISOR WITH CHRYSLER CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE (1-800-992-1997 AND 1-905-440-7694). HE TOLD ME THAT CONTRARY TO THE ANNOUNCEMENT IN ODI RESUME (PE13-016), CHRYSLER DID NOT BEGIN MAILING LETTERS IN JANUARY 2014 TO THE 153,817 OWNERS OF AFFECTED VEHICLES EXTENDING THE WARRANTY PERIOD ON 19-GALLON FUEL TANKS TO LIFETIME COVERAGE, HE TOLD ME THAT THE MAILING (INOT-PE130016-58863.PDF) WOULD IN FACT BEGIN IN APRIL 2014. MY LOCAL DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT INFORMED ME THAT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE ??SELECT?? VEHICLES THAT HAVE BEEN GIVEN EXTENDED WARRANTIES BY CHRYSLER GROUP LLC IN RESPONSE TO PE13-016. IN ORDER TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE, THE ENTIRE GAS TANK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS NO EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE FUEL TANK OF MY VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN A DIFFERENT PLANT THAN THE VEHICLES IDENTIFIED WITH PE13-016. CLEARLY THERE IS AN MALFUNCTION WITH THE MULTIFUNCTION CONTROL VALVE (MFCV) FUEL SHUTOFF FLOAT AT MORE THAN ONE MANUFACTURING LOCATION. ALTHOUGH THE NHTSA INVESTIGATION DETERMINED THAT IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, THE LAST TIME I REFUELED AND PULLED ONTO THE STREET, THE ENGINE STALLED AND I WAS NEARLY INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. IT STALLED 2 MORE TIMES DURING THE SAME INCIDENT BEFORE IT WOULD DRIVE MORE THAN A SHORT DISTANCE. IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THERE IS AN INJURY OR FATALITY DUE TO THIS MALFUNCTION. IN JANUARY 2013 I NEEDED A JUMP DUE TO THE FRIGID TEMPERATURE. FOLLOWING THE JUMP MY ENGINE LIGHT WOULD BLINK ON AND OFF OCCASIONALLY. WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE ON FEBRUARY 17, 2014 I EXPLAINED THIS TO THE TECHNICIAN WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THE DEALERSHIP COULD DO IF THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS NOT ON AT THAT TIME. TWO DAYS LATER ON FEBRUARY 19TH, I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO CONFIRM WHAT THE TECHNICAL TOLD ME WAS CORRECT. THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT THE TECHNICIAN GAVE ME THE CORRECT INFORMATION AND THAT WHEN MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON TO COME BACK SO THAT THEY COULD DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AT THE TIME. I ALSO INFORMED HIM THAT MY RECEIPT STATED THAT I DECLINED REPAIRS WHICH I DID NOT. HE STATED THAT THE LANGUAGE ON THE RECEIPT WAS FOR GENERAL REPAIRS AND THAT I DID NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT. ON MARCH 1, 2014 MY CAR WAS SMOKING PROFUSELY. BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP WAS CLOSED I HAD MY CAR PUT ON A DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE BY ANOTHER REPAIR FACILITY WHO STATED THAT MY ENGINE WAS LOCKED. *TR

WHILE DRIVING ON A TWO-LANE CURVED ROAD THE VEHICLE STALLED CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING AND NEAR COLLISION WITH ON-COMING TRAFFIC AND HAD TO STOP QUICKLY WHICH CAUSED A ROAD HAZARD FOR OTHER VEHICLES COMING AROUND A TIGHT TURN BEHIND ME. ONCE RESTARTED, I CONTINUED ON SAME ROAD AND VEHICLE DIED AGAIN IN A TURN ON SAME ROAD CAUSING THE STEERING TO GO OUT AGAIN WHICH LEAD TO VEERING OFF THE ROAD AND WITH THE POTENTIAL OF FALLING DOWN A 30 FOOT UN-GUARDED DECLINE. VEHICLE WILL STALL AND SURGE WHILE IN IDLE AS WELL. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE THIS ISSUE RELIABLY ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. I GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND I TRIED TO PULL AWAY FROM THE PUMP AND IT SHUT DOWN. I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS A FLUKE SINCE I WAS BASICALLY AT A ROLL. I DROVE 2 BLOCKS AND AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT IT DIED. I PROCEEDED TO MAKE A U-TURN TO RETURN HOME. THE CAR DIED 3 TIMES IN A 5 BLOCK SPAN. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY COUSIN WHO HAD A COMPUTER, NO CODES CAME UP BUT THE CAR SHUT DOWN TWICE. THE CAR STALLED AND RESTARTED ITSELF ON THE INTERSTATE OVER 10 TIMES YESTERDAY. I GOT OFF THE INTERSTATE AND THE CAR STALLED 6 TIMES ON LOCAL STREETS AND HAD TO BE RESTARTED WITH THE STARTER 6 TIMES. I HAVE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM TO NHTSA BEFORE. THE LOCAL PAPER REPORTED LAST WEEK (FEB 15, 2014) THAT CHRYSLER HAD ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM AS THE FUEL TANK AND THEY WOULD EXTEND THE FUEL TANK WARRANTY FOR LIFE IN CARS NOW ON THE ROAD. I CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP ON FEB 17, 2014 AND THEY SAID TO CONTACT CHRYSLER AT 800 992 1997. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AT 800 992 1997 ON FEB 17, 2014 AND THEY TOOK MY INFORMATION AND SAID THAT THEY WOULD PASS IT TO THE TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT AND THEN GET BACK TO ME (CASE # [XXX]). I AGAIN CONTACTED CHRYSLER AT 800 992 1997 ON FEB 20, 2014 AND THEY SAID THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM (CASE # [XXX] FROM 2/17) AND THAT I WAS NOT SCHEDULED TO GET A LETTER. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FROM 2006 AND CHRYSLER HAS ALWAYS SAID IT MIGHT BE BAD GAS OR WHATEVER AND HAVE INDICATED THAT I WAS THE ONLY ONE TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE REPLACED 3 SENSORS AND THE PCM OVER THE YEARS WITH NO CHANGE IN SYMPTOMS. CHRYSLER MIGHT HAVE OWNED UP TO THE PROBLEM WITH NHTSA PE13016, HOWEVER THEY HAVE HAD THE SAME STORY WITH ME OVER THE YEARS, FROM THE FIRST TIME I REPORTED THE CAR STALLING 3 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2006.
