THE ENGINE ABRUPTLY STALLS SHUTTING DOWN POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WHILE IN TRAFFIC AND OIL PRESSURE IS READING 0. TURN IGNITION SWITCH OFF AND CAR RESTARTS PERFECTLY WITH NL OIL PRESSURES. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE NEARLY CAUSING ACCIDENTS. WOULD PROBABLY BE FATAL IF ON INTERSTATE. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING. THERE WAS ALSO NO ERROR CODES STORED IN THE CARS COMPUTER. *TR
AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE IT STALLS. THE VEHICLE LOOSES STEERING POWER. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. I HAVE TRIED TO NOT LET THE FUEL GET TO LOW AND HAVE TRIED FILLING THE TANK AT DIFFERENT LEVELS WITH NO LUCK. *TR
AFTER FUELING CAR, IT STALLS OUT. AFTER RESTART WILL RUN AND MAY OR MAY NOT STALL AGAIN. NOT A VERY GOOD THING TO HAPPEN. COULD BECOME THE CAUSE OF AN ACCIDENT. DEALERSHIP SAYS NO RECALLS ON CAR. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKED, SHE WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFTER OUT OF PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION CAMPAIGN FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION INTERLOCK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE CONTACT WAS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR REPAIRS PER THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION CAMPAIGN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ENGAGED AND THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE IT RESUMED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR WAS IT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
AFTER FILLING UP WITH GAS I WENT ABOUT 2-3 MILES ON US1 IN WAKE FOREST, AFTER STOPPING AT THE LIGHT AT US1A I PROCEEDED TO TURN ONTO US1A AND MY CAR STALLED. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A LOT OF TRAFFIC AND I HAD TO MANAGE TO TURN ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTART THE CAR TO CONTINUE TO PROCEED. AFTER TRAVELING ABOUT ANOTHER 1 TO 2 MILES IT STALLED AGAIN. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED AND WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLS I LOSE POWER STEERING WHICH MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. *TR
CAR STALLED DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, THIS IS AT LEAST THE 3RD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. *TR
MY VEHICLE STALLED WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY AFTER FILLING FUEL TANK. THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 3 TIMES IN THE PAST AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. THANK GOD IT WAS A SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT. I HAVE READ ON LINE THIS IS A FAMILIAR ISSUE. WHY ISN'T ANYTHING BEING DONE ABOUT THIS??? *TR
VEHICLE CONSTANTLY STALLS AFTER FUEL FILL UP NO MATTER WHERE I GET GAS IT HAS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE LATE OCT NOW AND IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE LIKE THIS IF I HAVE TO GO OUT OF TOWN. IT STOPS ABOUT 3 TO 5 TIMES AFTER I FILL TANK WITH FUEL THEN AFTER A WHILE IT STOPS. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING AND I'M CONCERNED AS TO WHY THERE ISN'T A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE FOR THIS SINCE THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS. *TR
I WENT OUT TO START MY CHRYSLER 300 TO HEAD TO WORK AND AGAIN THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT MOVE. I CALLED CHRYLSER (THE COMPANY) AND WAS TOLD IF I TOOK IT TO A DEALER TO GET IT REPAIRED IT WAS POSSIBLE I COULD HAVE THE REPAIRS DONE FREE. SO I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER WHERE THE MECHANIC SAID THE PROBLEM WAS A PART LOCATED WITHIN THE GEAR SHIFT THAT MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING THE GEAR SHIFT NOT TO MOVE. THE PART JUST SIMPLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT IT WOULD COST ME NEARLY $700.00. THE SAME DAY I HAD THE CAR REPAIRED I CONTACTED CHRYSLER (THE COMPANY) AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM. SO I WAITED TO SEE WHAT I SHOULD DO. ON JULY 17, 2014- I CONTACTED CHRYSLER TO TRY AND SPEAK WITH THEM ONE LAST TIME ABOUT THE SITUATION BEFORE GOING TO COURT. AT ONE POINT THE REPRESENTATIVE EVEN BECAME TEMPERAMENTAL WITH ME STATING THAT BECAUSE MY CAR DID NOT HAVE THE PROPER VIN # IT WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE RECALL, REGARDLESS IF IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM OR NOT. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED ONCE BEFORE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I'VE HAD TO HAVE THIS PART REPLACED.
VEHICLE STALLS AFTER REFUELING APROX 0.5MILES AFTER DEPARTING FUEL STATION. VEHICLE HAS STALLED ON APPROACH TO FREEWAY AND IN POTENTIALLY FATAL SITUATIONS. FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING VEHICLE DUE TO CONTINUED PROBLEMS. SUSPECT RECALL SHOULD BE DONE SINCE THIS SEEMS TO BE A BIGGER PROBLEM. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP THE FUEL TANK FROM A START OF 1/8 TH TO FULL TANK, THE CAR STALLED AFTER LEAVING THE SERVICE STATION ABOUT 200 FEET DOWN THE ROAD WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT. AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE RESTARTED I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE FROM THE STOPPED POSITION BUT DRIVING POWER TRAIN WAS FAIRLY ERRATIC AS THE CAR ATTEMPTED TO LURCH FORWARD OR ACCELERATE UNPREDICTABLY THEN WOULD PULL BACK BY NEARLY STALLING. THIS CONTINUED FOR SEVERAL MILES BEFORE REACHING MY DRIVEWAY. THE CAR WHILE IN NEUTRAL LOPED SUBSTANTIALLY FROM 2000 RPM TO 100RPM SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE STALLING. ATTEMPTING TO START THE CAR AFTER STALLING WAS SUCCESSFUL. LEAVING THE CAR PARKED AND OFF FOR 60 MINUTES HAD NO BENEFICIAL EFFECT. AFTER RETURNING THE STARTING WAS VERY DIFFICULT AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES WERE NOT LIT UNTIL THE CAR STARTED AGAIN. THE CAR CONTINUES TO BE IDLE ERRATICALLY BOTH WHILE IN PARK AND IN DRIVE AND AT SLOW SPEEDS. *TR
GOING AROUND A ROTARY IN EVERETT, MASS. THE CAR JUST SHUT ITSELF OFF. *TR
AFTER LEAVING THE GAS STATION (FILLING THE TANK) THE CAR SPUTTERED A FEW TIMES, THEN AS I APPROACHED A STOP LIGHT IT STALLED OUT. I PULLED AWAY OKAY BUT IT STALLED AGAIN AT THE NEXT LIGHT. AFTER GETTING GAS, THE CAR IS HESITANT WHILE DRIVING AND STALLS OUT, USUALLY LASTING FOR 1-3 MILES. *TR
WE HAD JUST FILLED THE GAS TANK AND WERE HEADING OFF TO LAS VEGAS FOR A LONG WEEKEND WHEN AS WE DROVE LESS THAN A BLOCK AWAY THE CAR STALLED. THIS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE, WE RESTARTED THE CAR AND SHE CONTINUED TO JERK AROUND ACTING LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL AGAIN. WE WERE VERY CLOSE TO A PEP BOYS SO WE PULLED IN AND TOLD THE CLERK WHAT WAS HAPPENING, HE SAID WE MAYBE GOT BAD GAS (MAYBE WATERED DOWN) AND TO TRY A GAS TREATMENT. WE DID AND IT STALLED AGAIN, WE RESTARTED THE CAR AND DROVE CAUTIOUSLY AROUND TOWN TESTING HER RELIABILITY. SHE SEEMED FINE SO WE DROVE ON TO VEGAS. SHE PERFORMED WELL FOR A FEW WEEKS THEN DID IT AGAIN AFTER FILLING THE TANK SO AGAIN WE ADDED GAS TREATMENT AND THINGS SEEMED FINE. A MONTH OR SO LATER THE SAME THING AGAIN WITH THE STALLING AFTER FUELING. SO FAR THIS HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 8 TIMES SINCE THE FIRST TIME AND ONLY AFTER FUELING. WE ARE NERVOUS TO DRIVE ANYWHERE NOW. WE HAVE USED VARIOUS GAS STATIONS SO NOT ANY PARTICULAR BRAND MAKES THIS HAPPEN. IT CAN GO FOR SEVERAL WEEKS WITHOUT INCIDENT BUT WE JUST NEVER KNOW WHEN IT MAY OCCUR AGAIN. WE LOOKED IT UP ONLINE TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE WAS HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND FOUND THAT OWNERS OF CHRYSLER 2006 300C AND MAGNUMS AND CHARGERS ALL EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING. PE13-016 WAS REFERENCED AS THE ORIGINAL INVESTIGATION NUMBER INTO THESE OCCURRENCES. CHRYSLER SUPPOSEDLY ISSUED A LIFETIME EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT ONLY TO THOSE AFFECTED AND NOTIFIED THEM PRIOR TO JAN. 2014. THE REST OF US ARE SCREWED. I AM ASKING FOR THIS INVESTIGATION TO BE REOPENED. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO BE FAIR TO ALL OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES WITH THIS DEFECT. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND HAVE TAKEN EXCELLENT CARE OF MY CAR. MANY PEOPLE HAVE STATED THAT CHRYSLER IS NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THEIR COMPLAINTS SINCE THE INVESTIGATION IS CLOSED. YOUR HELP IS NEEDED TO CORRECT THIS INJUSTICE. *TR
RIGHT AFTER GASSING UP, MY CAR STALLED AT A RED LIGHT. RESTART, STALL AGAIN WHILE ROLLING (LOSING POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES.) RESTART AND DRIVE WITH HEAVY THROTTLE TO NEXT RED LIGHT, WHERE CAR STALLED AGAIN. RESTART, GO, THEN ANOTHER STALL WHEN CAR BEHIND ME HONKS. DANGEROUS STALLING IN INTERSECTION. PROBLEM REMAINED UNTIL GAS TANK WENT DOWN ABOUT 2 GALLONS FROM FULL. PROBLEM CONTINUES TO DATE, I CANNOT FILL THE GAS TANK. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP WITH FUEL AT BP GAS STATION MY ENGINE SPED UP 300 RPM AND SHUT-OFF IN THE STATION. I RESTATED IT AND IT RAN WITH A SLIGHT HESITATION. I COULD SMELL RAW FUEL COMING OUT OF THE EXHAUST. IT STALLED 3 MORE TIMES WITHIN 20 MINS. ONE TIME ON A SHARP CURVE IN THE ROAD. I HAD NO POWER STEERING; GOOD THING IT WASN'T MY WIFE DRIVING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER TWO ATTEMPTS. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
I WAS ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP TO ROUTE 495S, ABOUT TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY, WITH CARS BEHIND ME, AND THE ENGINE STALLED. THIS WAS PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS FOR MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS BECAUSE THERE WAS NO BREAK-DOWN LANE AT THE END OF THE ENTRANCE RAMP. YOU GO DIRECTLY ONTO THE HIGHWAY. IF I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE CAR STALLED THERE WAS NOWHERE FOR ME OR THE CARS BEHIND ME TO GO. THEY WOULD HAVE HAD TO ATTEMPT TO STOP, TOO. ONE OF THE RESTART ISSUES WITH THIS CAR IS THAT IT MUST BE STOPPED AND IN PARK BEFORE YOU CAN RESTART THE ENGINE. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO RESTART THE CAR WHILE IT IS MOVING. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP WITH GAS AT THE SAME PLACE I ALWAYS DO I BEGAN TO DRIVE HOME AT THE FIRST LIGHT I WAS FINE AT THE 2ND LIGHT THE CAR STALLED I PUT IT N AND STARTED THE CAR UP AND DROVE HOME ABOUT 1 BLOCK. IN THE MORNING I STARTED THE CAR UP TO GO TO WORK IT RAN FINE FOR THE FIRST 2 BLOCKS THE STALLED AGAIN. I STARTED IT UP AGAIN AND DROVE TO WORK. I WAS TERRIFIED. AFTER GETTING IT HOME I THOUGHT I WOULD DRIVE IT AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD FOR A FEW DAYS TO BE SAFE AND NOT GO ON THE FREEWAY. IT STILL HESITATED AND FELT LIKE IT WASN'T RUNNING RIGHT. STILL WANTING TO STALL. I THEN PARKED IT FOR FEAR OF BEING ON THE ROAD AND IT STALLING AND SOMEONE RUNNING INTO ME AND KILLING ME. WITH THIS MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME THING WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. ARE THEY WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO BE KILLED FIRST. I DID LOVE THIS CAR BUT CANT DRIVE SOMETHING THIS UNSAFE....HELP *TR

I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT WHEN MY CAR STALLED . I WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND CONTINUE. BUT THIS HAPPENED AGAIN ABOUT A WEEK LATER . AFTER THAT I DROVE IT FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND HALF , NO PROBLEM ! I READ A LOT OF THE COMPLAINTS AND SEVERAL PEOPLE INDICATED THAT IT HAPPENS WHEN THEY REFILL. WELL I KIND OF AGREE WITH THAT. NOW ITS 11/01/13 AND TODAY I TURNED RIGHT INTO A PARKING LOT AND IT STALLED THAT WAS ON FRIDAY. SINCE THEN IT HAS STALLED SEVERAL TIMES BUT RESTARTS ! I TOOK IT TO THE CHRYSLER TO DEALER ON MONDAY. $700.00 AT END OF DAY , WAS TOLD THE PC NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. AND NEEDED A TUNEUP.. TUE IT STALLED AGAIN. PROBLEM NOT SOLVED. WELL TODAY 11/05/13 ITS AT DEALER AGAIN. THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT. I LOVE THIS CAR AND I HAVE TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF IT, ITS LIKE NEW.HELP????? *TR
ABOUT THREE YRS AGO WENT FOR OIL CHANGE FOUND OUT MY WAS CRACKED HAD TO REPLACE AXLE AND STEERING ASKED IF IT WAS A RECALL THEY SAID NO.. NOW 2013 I PARK THE CAR AND THE CAR WONT SHIFT FROM PARK CALLED CHRYSLER NO RECALL NOTICE THERE'S BEEN MANY CASES OF SHIFTING GEAR NOT ABLE TO SHIFT OR FALLING OFF SHIFT WHEN PARK.. MY AUTO WILL NOT SHIFT FROM PARK THIS A DEFECT I FEEL CHRYSLER SHOULD HAVE THIS PROBLEM FIX AND PUT AS A RECALL. *TR
APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS AGO, VEHICLE STARTED STALLING AFTER REFUELING. EVERY REFUEL SINCE WITHOUT FAIL THE VEHICLE STALLS. STALLING OCCURS WITHIN MINUTES AFTER REFUELING AND WILL STALL 2-3 TIMES IN A 5 MINUTES PERIOD. THE VEHICLE PERFORMS CORRECTLY ONCE YOU GET PAST THIS STAGE. BASED ON MY RESEARCH (INTERNET) THERE HAVE BEEN MANY OTHER 2006 CHRYSLER PRODUCTS (INCL TOWN AND COUNTRY MINI VAN) EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES. IT APPEARS THE SEPARATOR VALVE AT THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK IS THE CULPRIT. *TR
CHRYSLER 300C SRT8 2006 STALLS AFTER REFUELING. THIS HAS BEEN DANGEROUS FOR ME SINCE I'M JUST MAKING THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE UNEXPECTED STALLING IN INTERSECTIONS AND REFUELING. THE CAR WILL 'BUCK' UNEXPECTEDLY AND THE STALL. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART BUT IT CONTINUES STALL FOR SOME TIME AFTER THE REFUELING. I UNDERSTAND AN INVESTIGATION IS UNDERWAY FOR THIS ISSUE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS FULL, THE ENGINE WOULD STALL SPORADICALLY AND RECURRING. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALWAYS RESTART AND RESUME NORMALLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT FUEL WAS ENTERING THE SYSTEM PURGE LINE AND CAUSING THE FUEL VALVE TO FAIL. AS A RESULT, THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 41,000. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IMMEDIATELY AFTER REFUELING, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
ON 2 OCCASIONS, 09/30/13 AND 10/02/13 I FILLED MY VEHICLE UP WITH GAS AND WITHIN A MILE OF THE GAS STATION IT STARTED MISSING REAL BAD AND THEN SHUT OFF, ONCE WHILE MERGING ONTO INTERSTATE 95 AND THE OTHER TIME ON A LESS TRAVELED ROAD. ON BOTH OCCASIONS I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO PULL TO THE SHOULDER AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO WHITTEN BROS CHRYSLER (RICHMOND, VA) A FEW DAYS LATER AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE GAS CANISTER WAS CONTAMINATED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH A DETECTOR AND SOLENOID, TOTAL COST OF $516 AND WAS TOLD THE GAS TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF A DEFECTIVE VALVE IN THE TANK. SEEMS THE VALVE WAS STUCK OPEN AND ALLOWING GAS TO OVERFLOW INTO THE CANISTER. SINCE THE VALVE IS PART OF THE TANK AND CANNOT BE REPLACED A COMPLETE TANK IS NEEDED AT A COST OF $1200 TO $1500. THE NEXT WEEK I CALLED THE SERVICE ADVISOR AT WHITTEN BROTHERS, [XXX] , AND TOLD HER TO GO AHEAD AND ORDER THE TANK. SHE SAID IT WOULD TAKE 3-5 DAYS TO BE RECEIVED AND WOULD CALL ME WHEN IT WAS IN. THAT NIGHT I READ AN ARTICLE ABOUT A GAS TANK PROBLEM ON THE 2006 VEHICLES LIKE MINE AND SAW THAT IF YOU DID NOT FILL THE TANK YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT SHUTTING OFF. I FIGURED FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO SPEND I WOULD GO THIS ROUTE SO I CALLED AND CANCELLED THE ORDER FOR THE TANK. I WAS TOLD THE TANK ORDER COULD NOT BE CANCELLED BUT THEY WOULD KEEP IT IN INVENTORY. I HAVE TO REMEMBER WHEN I LOAN THE VEHICLE TO ONE OF MY SONS TO TELL THEM WHATEVER THEY DO PLEASE DO NOT FILL THE TANK IF THEY PUT GAS IN IT. I WAS ON THE WAY TO A DOCTORS APPT WITH MY PREGNANT DAUGHTER ON 264 HEADING TOWARDS CHESAPEAKE, VA. I WAS DOING 55 MPH AND THE TANK WAS ON 1/8 TH OF A TANK. AS WE WERE DRIVING, ABOUT 15 MIN LATER, THE CAR LURCHED, A DING WAS HEARD, THE ETC LIGHT FLASHED, THE RPMS DROPPED TO 0, THEN RESUMED A SECOND LATER CAUSING THE LURCHING FORWARD. ABOUT 3 TO 4 MINUTES AND INTERMITTENTLY OVER THE NEXT 15 MIN LATER, IT DID THE SAME THING, BUT ALSO STALLED AT THE STOP LIGHTS ON THE WAY THERE. NO CODES CAME UP WHEN DIAGNOSTICS WERE PUT ON IT. THE THROTTLE CONTROL UNIT WAS REPLACED AND A RELEARN WAS DONE, THIS DID NOTHING. SAME THING HAPPENED. I HAVE READ MANY OTHER REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING AND NO ONE HAS AN EXACT FIX FOR THIS. ALSO, MAY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS, BUT ABOUT 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING, I WAS FILLING UP WITH GAS AND THE TANK OVERFLOWED. NO PROBLEMS OCCURRED THROUGH THE NEXT 3 OR 4 FILL UPS, THE TANK WAS ON AN 1/8 WHEN THE FIRST HESITATION AND STALLING OCCURRED. *TR
AFTER REFUELING, CAR STALLS. THIS HAPPENS AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 2 TO 3 MINUTES AFTER LEAVING GAS STATION. THE STALL HAS TAKEN PLACE AT INTERSECTIONS, WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP AND WHILE DRIVING NO MORE THAN 5 -10MPH AFTER LEAVING THE GAS STATION.. CAR RESTARTS AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS IN NEUTRAL. WHEN EACH INCIDENT OCCURS, THE OIL ICON COMES ON, HOWEVER THE OIL LEVEL IS NOT LOW. ON ONE OCCASION AFTER HAVING BACKED INTO A PARKING SPACE WITH THE CAR GEAR SHIFT STILL IN REVERSE AND MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THE CAR LURCHED. THE TIRES COULD BE HEARD SPINNING. THAT WAS VERY SCARY BECAUSE MY CAR COULD HAVE ROLLED INTO A BUSY HIGHWAY. ONCE THE FUEL LEVEL INDICATES APPROXIMATELY A HALF A TANK, NO STALLING INCIDENTS TAKE PLACE. CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH THIS CONCERNED. SERVICE ADVISOR WAS AWARE OF CHYRSLER 300C STALLS AFTER REFUELING. FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM WAS SERVICED/CLEANED. THIS HAS NOT RESOLVED THE PROBLEM. CAR STILL STALLING. REALLY AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR, HOWEVER I AM TAKING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO LET THEM KNOW OF THE STILL ONGOING PROBLEM. *TR
AFTER FILLING THE CHRYSLER UP WITH GAS FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS, MAYBE MORE, THE CAR STARTS AND THEN WITHIN 3 FEET IT SHUTS OFF. THE COMPUTER SAYS THAT THE SYSTEM IS OK. THIS HAPPENS 3 TO FOUR TIMES IN TRAFFIC. IT HAS CAUSED MINOR BUMPER PROBLEMS. IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. FINALLY, IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY, INSPECTED BY BETTENHAUSEN, FIAT IN TINLEY PARK, BUT WE NEVER GOT A RESPONSE OR THE PROBLEM ALLEVIATE. IT DID THE SAME THING TODAY ON THE HIGHWAY. THANK GOD, THERE WERE NO CARS NEXT TO ME. I HAD TO PULL OVER BECAUSE THE CAR STOPPED WITHOUT WARNING. *TR
I FILLED UP MY CHRYSLER 300 JUST AFTER BUYING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME. AFTER FILL UP I PULLED AWAY FROM THE GAS STATION AND GOT TO THE STOP LIGHT AND IT STALLED. I RESTARTED IT AND IT WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR AT FIRST BUT AFTER A MINUTE IT DID. WENT FOR ABOUT HUNDRED FEET AND IT STALLED AGAIN IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. THEN THE NEXT MORNING IT RAN FINE UNTIL I FILLED IT UP AGAIN AND IT DID THE SAME THING STALLED RIGHT AFTER I FILLED IT WITH GAS I CHECKED WITH THE LOCAL DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND THAT IT IS AN ISSUE WITH THE DESIGN OF THE GAS TANK AND PURGE VALVE THAT ONLY CAN BE CORRECTED BY REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL TANK. I CHECKED ONLINE AND THIS AN ISSUE HAS HAPPENED FOR MANY OWNERS AND THEY HAVE BEEN TOLD THE SAME THING BY THERE DEALERS. IT IS A FACTORY DESIGN ERROR THAT ONLY BE CORRECTED BY THE FUEL TANK REPLACEMENT AS WELL AS THE PURGE VALVE. THE REASON IT STALLS IS THAT WHEN FILLED UP THE TANK AND PURGE VALE FLOODS THE THROTTLE BODY WITH RAW FUEL AND THE CAR STALLS THIS STALLING CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT VERY EASY AS WELL AS EFFECTING THE EMISSIONS OF THE VEHICLE. I FEEL THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS DEFECT WHICH I UNDERSTAND HAS EFFECTED THE DODGE CHARGER AS WELL AS THE CHALLENGER. *TR
CAR STALLS AFTER FILLING UP GAS TANK HAS HAPPENED A DOZEN TIMES OR MORE. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT ON TWO OCCASSIONS IF THE OTHER DRIVER HADN'T RAN INTO A DITCH WE BOTH COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED THIS TIME. I NOW GET GAS CLOSE TO A LARGE DEPARTMENT STORE WITH ACCESS TO THERE PARKING LOT WHERE I CAN DRIVE TILL IT FINISHES IT'S 3 TO 4 TIMES OF STALLING ON FILL UP. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED OVER THIS ISSUE.
I FILLED UP MY TANK AT THE BP SERVICE STATION ON RT. 17 PARAMUS, NJ AND THE CAR STALLED ENTERING THE HIGHWAY, (RT. 17 SOUTH) STALLED THREE MORE TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY, HAD TO PULL INTO A SHOPPING CENTER TO GET IT TO IDLE. STALLED AT THE INTERSECTION ON LINWOOD AVENUE AND PARAMUS ROAD, PARAMUS NJ AND BARELY MADE IT HOME TO FRANKLIN TURNPIKE IN RIDGEWOOD, NJ. I HAD TO BURN OFF A FEW GALLONS OF GAS AT IDLE AND HIGH IDLE TO GET THE CAR TO NORMALIZE AT IDLE AND MAKE IT ROAD WORTHY AND SAFE TO DRIVE. *LN
AFTER REFUELING MY CAR SUDDENLY LOST ACCELERATION AND STALLED WITHOUT ANY WARNING AS I WAS LEAVING THE GAS STATION. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED 3 MORE TIMES. THIS PARTICULAR INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES BEFORE; EACH TIME I TOPPED OFF? MY GAS TANK. I WAS CONCERNED THAT I COULD BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT SO I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP? AND AFTER SEVERAL DAYS WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL LINE WAS CRACKED AND THE GAS TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER PAYING $1,700.00 AND RENTING A CAR FOR 4 DAYS, I WAS TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM WILL GO AWAY. WE SHALL SEE. MY CAR IS WELL MAINTAINED WITH OIL CHANGES EVERY 3,000 MILES WITH ONLY 55,000 MILES. I ALSO ONLY USE 89 OCTANE FUEL AS RECOMMENDED IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS, EVEN THOUGH QUITE A NUMBER OF DRIVERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE BEGAN REPEATEDLY STALLING AFTER BEING FILLED WITH GAS AND AT LOW SPEEDS. THIS WENT ON FOR MONTHS. MY SON HAD THE VEHICLE IN ANOTHER TOWN AND WHEN HE RETURNED TO OUR HOUSE WE TOOK IT TO OUR MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED A FUEL VALVE PROBLEM. WE THEN TOOK IT TO THE POWAY CHRYSLER DEALER WHO AGREED WITH THE DIAGNOSIS. THEY SAID IT WAS A FUEL TANK VENT VALVE FAILURE CAUSING FUEL TO BE SUCKED UP INTO INTAKE PURGE LINE. EXCESSIVE FUEL WAS SEEN BY THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE AND THEY PROCEEDED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM BY INSTALLING A NEW FUEL TANK. ALTHOUGH THIS IS APPARENTLY A WELL DOCUMENTED PROBLEM IN 2006 CHRYSLER 300S, MY CAR WAS NOT COVERED IN A RECENT DECISION BY CHRYSLER TO EXTEND THE FUEL TANK WARRANTY. *TR
5 MINUTES AFTER FILLING UP MY 06 CHRYSLER 300C SRT-8 6.1L AT A GAS STATION I WAS CROSSING OVER TRAFFIC TO MAKE A LEFT TURN AND MY CAR DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. IT TOOK SEVERAL MINUTES TO RESTART THEN LURCHED FORWARD AFTER PUT INTO GEAR. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME RIGHT AFTER FILLING MY TANK THIS HAS OCCURRED. THE CAR STARTED, THE EPS LIGHT WENT OFF, BUT ON OCCASION ON IT WOULD LOSE POWER. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON EVER SINCE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR NEEDS REPLACING BUT CAN'T GUARANTEE THAT IS WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE CAR SINCE HE KEEPS GETTING DIFFERENT CODES EACH TIME HE DOES DIAGNOSTIC. *JB
PURCHASED CAR USED AND WITHIN 24 HOURS HAD CAR STALL ON ME TOTALING ABOUT 6 TIMES NOW WITHIN 2 WEEKS. IT HAS STALLED EVERYWHERE FROM HIGHWAY SPEEDS TO IDLING AND WHILE IN REVERSE. CAR STARTS BACK UP WITHOUT PROBLEM IF PUT IN NEUTRAL OR PARK. HAVE HAD FUEL INJECTORS CLEANED, NEW SPARK PLUGS ( MANUFACTURER SUGGESTED COPPER) AND ALL NEW IGNITION COILS. DEALERSHIP SAID THE STALLING WAS CAUSED BY OLD SPARK PLUGS AND WORN IGNITION COILS BUT CONTINUES TO STALL AFTER ALL OF THESE WERE REPLACED. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO MATTER WHAT SPEED I AM GOING, BUT SEEMS TO STALL MORE WHEN I REACH AROUND A QUARTER TANK OF GAS. THE CAR HAS STALLED ON ME SEVERAL TIMES IN TRAFFIC AND WHILE ENTERING AND EXITING HIGHWAY. I DO NOT FEEL IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE ESPECIALLY WITH KIDS AND FAMILY IN THE CAR, THERE IS NO WARNING OF STALL AND IS VERY UNPREDICTABLE.
FROM WHAT I'VE LEARNED THERE'S A DEFECT IN CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES WITH THE HEMI ENGINE. ANY TIME THE GAS TANK IS FILLED, IF A SHARP LEFT TURN IS TAKEN THE CAR STALLS OUT. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME PERIODICALLY OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO TWO LOCAL MECHANICS AND THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP, NOBODY COULD FIGURE IT OUT, IT DOESN'T SHOW UP ON THE CAR'S COMPUTER. FINALLY, A THIRD MECHANIC GOOGLED IT AND CAME UP WITH AN ARTICLE IN THE L.A.TIMES THAT PERFECTLY DESCRIBED MY SITUATION (DUH, I SHOULD'VE THOUGHT OF THAT). IT WASN'T UNTIL THE CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD, ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON, WITH MY TWO-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER IN THE CAR, THAT I REALLY HAD AN ISSUE. I WAS ABLE TO ROLL INTO THE PARKING LOT OF A SHOPPING PLAZA, SO IT ENDED ALRIGHT, BUT IF THERE WAS NOWHERE TO GO THAT COULD'VE SPELLED DISASTER! AS A GUY I CAN HANDLE A SITUATION LIKE THIS, BUT WHEN CHILDREN ARE INVOLVED A DEFECT OF THIS TYPE IS UNACCEPTABLE. I'M THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE CAR, SO IT'S NOT RELATED TO USER ERROR BY ANY MEANS. IN THE END THE THIRD MECHANIC QUOTED ME $1800 FOR A NEW GAS TANK + LINES + LABOR, OR I COULD NOT FILL MY TANK TO THE TOP WHEN I GET GAS. THANKS CHRYSLER! CAR STALLED AND CREATED A SERIOUS HAZARD FOR ME AND PASSENGERS TRYING TO AVOID REAR END COLLISION WHILE PULLING TO SHOULDER WITH NO POWER. VERY BUSY ROAD WITH 50-60 MPH TRAFFIC. CAR WOULD NOT RESTART AND STAY RUNNING - REQUIRING 5-7 RESTART/STALLS BEFORE IT WAS DRIVABLE. BROUGHT TO MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS AGAIN. NO CODES ON SCANNER. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. *TR
