TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 TOURING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHIFTER WAS STUCK IN PARK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IN ORDER TO CHANGE GEARS, HE HAD TO REMOVE THE GEAR BOX AND USE A SCREW DRIVER TO SHIFT INTO GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTER WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE - VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT DEALERSHIP FOR OVER 1 MONTH WITH A BAD PCM MODULE. THIS IS COVERED UNDER THE 8 YEAR / 80,000 MILE FACTORY WARRANTY. CHRYSLER IS UNABLE TO PROVIDE THE PART TO FIX THE VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PART IS ON A "MEGA BACKORDER" AND IT IS ONE OF THE MOST COMMON ISSUES KNOWN WITH THE VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THERE ARE OVER 75 VEHICLES THAT ARE CURRENTLY ON THE WAITING LIST FOR THE PCM. FAILURE OF THE PCM CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO BEGIN IDLING ROUGHLY AT RANDOM TIMES. THE THROTTLE CONTROL AND ESP LIGHTS ON THE DASH BEGIN TO FLASH. THE CAR LOSES ACCELERATION AND YOU CAN NOT GAIN SPEED OVER ABOUT 20 MPH. EVENTUALLY, THE VEHICLE DIES. IF YOU TAKE THE KEY OUT, YOU CAN ALWAYS START IT AGAIN. SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE WILL NOT MAKE IT 20 FEET, AND SOMETIMES IT WILL MAKE IT FOR 2 DAYS WITHOUT AN ISSUE. MY VEHICLE FAILED ON THE INTERSTATE AND I WAS PUT IN A POTENTIALLY LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION BECAUSE I HAD NO WARNING. I COULD NOW BE WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR MONTHS DUE TO THE SHORTAGE OF THIS PART. CHRYSLER IS NOW IN CONTACT WITH THE VENDOR OF THE PART TO TRY TO GET AN ESTIMATE OF WHEN THE PART WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE. THEY ARE UNWILLING TO ASSIST ME WITH A RENTAL CAR, LOANER VEHICLE, OR VEHICLE OF COMPARABLE VALUE. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION. *TR
THE FIRST TIME I HAD THIS PROBLEM, I FILLED UP MY CAR AFTER A TRIP, AND UPON LEAVING THE GAS STATION MY ENGINE STALLED AND THE CAR WOULD NOT COME BACK ON. I COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO CRANK AND WHEN THE ENGINE DID COME ON ONCE THE RPMS WOULD NOT SETTLE AND THEY KEPT DIPPING TO ALMOST ZERO BEFORE THE ENGINE CUT OFF. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIX THE ISSUE. I'VE HAD THIS HAPPEN ABOUT FIVE TIMES AND I FINALLY HAD ONE REPAIR SHOP TELL ME TO NOT FILL MY GAS TANK UP ALL THE WAY AND IT SHOULD PREVENT THE CUT OFFS. I THEN FAILED AN EMISSIONS TEST AND HAD TO HAVE MY GAS CAP REPLACED. I THOUGHT THAT THIS HAD SOLVED THE PROBLEM SO I TRIED TO FILL THE TANK UP ALL THE WAY AGAIN AND IT IMMEDIATELY CUT OFF AFTER STARTING IT UP. I WAS ABLE TO REV THE ENGINE AND USE UP SOME OF THE GAS AND MANAGED TO GET THE CAR HOME WITH THE RPMS CONSTANTLY DIPPING ALMOST TO ZERO. THE CAR CUT OUT AT A STOP LIGHT AND I THEN HAD TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN AFTER SITTING IN THE INTERSECTION STALLED. I'VE HAD MY CAR INSPECTED BY TWO CHRYSLER DEALERS, A FEW INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOPS, AND ALSO A NISSAN DEALER WHERE I KNOW THE HEAD MECHANIC. THE ONLY ANSWERS I'VE GOTTEN WERE THAT IT IS A FAULTY O2 SENSOR AND NEEDS A NEW GAS TANK. *TR
NOT ABLE TO FILL GAS TANK TO FULL. IF FILLED TO FULL MARK OR ALLOWED FOR GAS STATION PUMP TO AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF AT FULL. THE VEHICLE WILL STALL AFTER A FEW BLOCKS.THIS WILL HAPPEN 3-5 TIMES BEFORE YOU CAN CONTINUE.THIS CAN HAPPEN AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS AND IS VERY DANGEROUS.THIS STARTED EARLY 2012 AND WILL DO THIS AT EVERY FULL FILL UP. IT HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN 15 TIMES. I CAN NOT HAVE A FULL TANK ANYMORE. I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE SINCE 2010 AND HAD 30K MILES ON IT. IT NEVER HAD THE PROBLEM TILL 2011 OR ABOUT 60K MILES. *TR
IN JANUARY 2011 I NOTICED TRANSMISSION OIL STAIN WHERE CAR IS PARKED. TOOK VEHICLE TO PEP BOYS ON JANUARY 11TH, 2011 WHO CONFIRMED THAT VEHICLE DID HAVE TRANSMISSION LEAK. SINCE PEP BOYS DO NOT SERVICE TRANSMISSION, TOOK TO LOCAL TRANSMISSION GARAGE TO GET PROBLEM CORRECTED. AGAIN ON APRIL 18TH OF THIS YEAR HAD SAME PROBLEM WITH OIL LEAK AND AGAIN WE HAD TO PAY TO GET PROBLEM RESOLVED. TWICE REPAIRED FOR SAME PROBLEM. *TR
WE ARE A USED CAR DEALERSHIP AND WE HAVE SOLD A NUMBER OF CHRYSLERS. RECENTLY WE HAVE BEEN HAVING COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM; THE SHIFTER GETS STUCK IN PARK AND RENDERS THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE. ONE OF THE VEHICLES THAT HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM IS VIN# [XXX] (2006 CHRYSLER 300). THE ENTIRE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. I RECENTLY HAD NEW TIRES MOUNTED ON MY VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TIRE RODS WERE WORN BADLY. I JUST PASSED 42,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD BY MY MECHANIC THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE ON MANY CHRYSLER 300 MODELS AROUND THE SAME MILEAGE. THERE ARE EVEN TWO OPTIONS FOR REPAIR. YOU CAN HAVE THE TIE RODS REPLACED WITH STANDARD EQUIPMENT BUT WILL MOST LIKELY HAVE THE SAME ISSUE OR CHRYSLER CAME OUT WITH AN UPGRADED REPLACEMENT WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY. OBVIOUSLY CHRYSLER KNOWS THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE AND SHOULD BE AN ACTUAL RECALL. I WILL BE HAVING THE TIE RODS REPLACED TOMORROW. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH WHEN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS BEGAN TO FLICKER INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE MADE, THE VEHICLE WOULD DECELERATE INDEPENDENTLY AND THE ENGINE WOULD EXHIBIT AN ABNORMAL FLUCTUATION OF RPMS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD ALSO ILLUMINATE SPORADICALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL MODULE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
WHEN I FILL UP MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C 5.7 HEMI IT WILL STALL/ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. ACTS LIKE IT COULD BE VAPOR LOCK. IT'S TAKE A FEW TRIES TO START AFTER THIS HAPPENS. I WILL BE IN THE MIDDLE-OF-THE-ROAD. THERE HAS BEEN A FEW CLOSE CALLS. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL UP WITH GAS. I AM SCARED TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC JUST BECAUSE MY CAR WILL SOMETIMES STALL. I'VE TAKEN MY CAR TO MECHANICS AND THE DEALERSHIP NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. *TR
TL-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15-25 MPH IN RAINY WEATHER CONDITIONS THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLIDE. SHE STATED THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. SHE SLOWED DOWN TO GAIN BETTER CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE HAD OCCURED THREE TIMES IN RAINY OR SNOWY WEATHER CONDITIONS. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED SHE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY REFERRED HER TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25,000. VWB
NO EVENT LEADS UP TO THIS EVENT. THE SHIFTER FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS HAS A PLASTIC PART IN 2005-2007 (AND MAYBE MORE) THAT IS POORLY MADE AND BREAKS. I HAVE SEEN HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE WEB. THIS HAPPENED TO MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300. CHRYSLER'S SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SHIFT MECHANISM THAT INCLUDES THE SAME POORLY MANUFACTURED PLASTIC PART. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WENT TO A TIRE SHOP TO CHANGE THE TIRES WHERE THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE LUG NUTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHEN HE TRIED TO CHANGE THE TIRES A SECOND TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,190.
I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 AND ON NOV 24 2010 MY TIE ROD END BROKE AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE SHOP FOR REPAIRS, IT HAS BEEN OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THESE TYPE OF CARS AND I THINK THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO BY SOMEONE. *TR
AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE HAS STARTED STALLING. IT STALLS ON AND OFF UNTIL THE TANK IS BELOW 3/4 OF A TANK. IT HAPPENS 9 OUT OF 10 TIMES. *TR

THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO REDUCED THE REPAIR COSTS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 54,000.

SOMETIMES THE ENGINE WOULD RESTART IMMEDIATELY AND OTHER TIMES IT WOULD TAKE OVER FIVE MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOUR TIMES BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO ADVISED HER TO CALL NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 51,000. UPDATED 1/19/2010 *CN THE DEALER REPLACED THE CHARCOAL CANISTER AND FUEL CAP. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN GARAGE. HAD BEEN DRIVEN HOME AT 11:30P.M. AND WOKE UP TO FIRE IN THE GARAGE AT 1A.M. ENTIRE HOME AND CONTENTS WERE LOST. WE HAD TO JUMP FROM 2ND STORY WINDOWS TO ESCAPE OUR HOME. FIRE DEPARTMENT AND FIRE MARSHALS FELT THAT FIRE BEGAN IN THE GARAGE AND FOUND IT UNDETERMINED, BUT TOLD US THAT THEY FELT STRONGLY THAT IT WAS THE VEHICLE. WE CONTACTED OUR INSURANCE COMPANY WITH INFO WE FOUND ONLINE THAT STATED THE BRAKING PROBLEM WAS BEING RECALLED. THEY STATED THAT THEY HAD NO INFORMATION TO PURSUE. CAR WAS ALSO A TOTAL LOSS. IS THERE ANYTHING MORE WE CAN DO TO FIND OUT WHY THIS RECALL #06V149000 WAS NEVER SENT TO US? HAD WE KNOWN WE WOULD HAVE PARKED THE VEHICLE AWAY FROM OUR HOME!!!! LIGHTS FLASHING ON AND OFF THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IT HAS DONE IT BUT I THINK THAT IS ENOUGH CAUSE THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WHEN YOUR DRIVING AT NIGHT AND ALL THE SUDDEN YOU HAVE NO LIGHTS AND ONCE I PULLED OVER THEY STILL CONTINUED TO FLASH ON AND OFF I WILL NOT TRUST THIS CAR FOR ALONG TIME NOW AFTER DARK AND THAT IS REALLY SAD CAUSE I REALLY ENJOY THIS CAR. *TR

I HAVE HAD TO CHANGE THE BRAKES ON MY CHRYSLER 300C TWICE IN THIS YEAR AN NOW I NEED TO GET SOME MORE BRAKES . IT IS A 2006 AN THE COMPANY I BOUGHT IT FROM IS NOW OUT OF BUSINESS WHICH WAS PREBUL , THEY LIED AN SAID THE CHANGED THE ROTORS AN THEY DID NOT , I GOT THE CAR USED IN 2008 AND I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES AN ROTORS , I NEED SOME HELP AN SURELY THIS IS NOT THE WAY CHRYSLER TREAT THERE CUSTOMERS!!! EXTREME SHUDDER AND VIBRATION WHILE CAR IS IN DRIVE. WHEN YOU MANUALLY GO THROUGH THE GEARS AT HIGH RPM THE PROBLEM ISN'T AS BAD. BUT AT REGULAR DRIVING SPEEDS THE PROBLEM IS VERY APPARENT. IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A BAD TORQUE CONVERTER FROM A AAMCO TRANSMISSION SHOP. I HAD THE ORIGINAL TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACED WITH A GENUINE DAIMLER CHRYSLER MERCEDES PART. THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY FOR 3 MONTHS AND NOW ITS BACK. THE WARRANTY FOR THE PART WAS FOR ONLY 90 DAYS SO I CAN'T EVEN GET WARRANTY WORK ON THE PART. I BELIEVE THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTERS ARE DEFECTIVE. IT COST ME $1600 TO HAVE IT REPLACED ORIGINALLY. I DON'T HAVE ANOTHER $1600.00 TO HAVE IT DONE AGAIN.
AFTER REFUELING, CAR STALLS, HESITATES AND SHUTS OFF MULTIPLE TIMES FOR SEVERAL MINUTES OR MILES. ONLY HAPPENS WHEN TANK IS FILLED ALL THE WAY TO AUTOMATIC PUMP SHUT-OFF. THIS HAPPENS TO ME ALMOST EVERY TIME I REFUEL, UNLESS I STOP REFUELING A GALLON OR TWO SHORT OF FULL ( WORK-AROUND THAT I DISCOVERED ONLY RECENTLY). IT IS DANGEROUS AND HAS NOT CAUSED AN ACCIDENT YET, BUT HAS PUT ME IN SEVERAL WHITE-KNUCKLE SITUATIONS SITTING AT AN INTERSECTION WITH NO POWER. *TR
I FILLED UP MY CAR WITH PREMIUM FUEL (AS ALWAYS) AND STOPPED THE FILL AT THE FIRST CLICK OF THE GAS PUMP. I STARTED MY CAR AND RESET MY TRIP INFORMATION INTO MY COMPUTER AND PUT IT IN DRIVE AND GOT ON THE 59 NORTH FEEDER ROAD. IT STARTED JERKING LIKE THE ENGINE WAS CUTTING OUT SO I SLOWED DOWN AND WHEN I SLOWED DOWN IT COMPLETED DIED ON THE FEEDER ROAD. I STARTED BACK UP AND IT MISSED A COUPLE OF TIMES AND DIED AGAIN AT THE RED LIGHT. IT SEEMS THAT IF YOU ARE ON AN OPEN STRETCH OF ROAD GOING OVER 30 OR 40 IT WON'T DIE - BUT WILL CUT OUT AND JERK REALLY BAD. THIS HAS HAPPENED ANOTHER 10-15 TIMES SINCE THEN. I STOPPED FILLING THE CAR UP AND JUST PUT IN 3/4 TANK. MY HUSBAND WILL FORGET AND FILL IT UP AND IT DOES THIS EVERY TIME YOU FILL THE CAR UP. IT HAS DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AS I WAS LEAVING A GAS STATION, IT HAS DIED IN INTERSECTIONS AFTER LEAVING A RED LIGHT. VERY FRUSTRATING AND DANGEROUS! *TR
SHIFTER STUCK IN PARK, HAD TO GET CAR TOWED TO DEALER. DEFECTED PART WAS PLASTIC TUBE. I HAD TO BUY NEW SHIFT ASSEMBLY 230 DOLLARS AND 50 DOLLAR TOW CHARGE. I WENT ON INTERNET AND FOUND MANY CHRYSLER 300 HAVE THIS PROBLEM. A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED BECAUSE IT CAN HAPPEN AGAIN. *TR

I BOUGHT MY CAR USED IN 2010. THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS ALWAYS BEEN ON. I TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP ONE YEAR AGO AND HE TOLD ME THERE WAS NOT A RECALL ON IT AND IT WOULD COST OVER $450 TO FIX. I JUST REVIEWED THE RECALLS ON BOTH AIRBAGS ONE DATED 5/3015 AND THE OTHER 5/2016. I JUST CALLED SAFECAR.GOV AND SHE SAID THERE IS NO REMEDY YET. THE RECALLS SAID THEY NEED TO BOTH BE REPLACED. I'M PRINTING PAGE OUT AND TAKING TO DEALERSHIP AND HOPE THEY WILL REPLACE BOTH AIRBAGS AS STATED ON THIS WEBSITE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,808.
I STOPPED TO GET GAS AND WHEN I COMPLETED THE TRANSACTION I STARTED THE CAR AND IT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER SAID HE PICKS UP 3 A WEEK WITH THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. THE COST OF THE TOW AND THE REPAIR WAS ABOUT 500 DOLLARS. I JUST LOOKED ON LINE AND SEEMS A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. SEEMS TO ME THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD MAKE IT OUT OF METAL AND FIX A 40K CARS. *TR
IN SEPTEMBER, 2010, WHILE DRIVING IT, MY CHRYSLER 300C BEGAN MAKING A CONSTANT WHINING NOISE, ESPECIALLY WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE. IT STOPPED MOVING AND I HAD TO PLACE IT IN PARK AND TURN IT OFF. AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND DRIVE SO IT HAD TO BE TOWED INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALER TOLD US THAT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER. SO WE HAD TO PAY $2926.91 TO HAVE IT A TRANSMISSION AND TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACED. SINCE THEN THE SAME PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED 3 MORE TIMES OVER A SPAN OF 3 YEARS; THE LAST TIME A WEEK AGO (NOT QUITE 7 MONTHS FROM THE LAST TIME). THE DEALER IS NOW TELLING US THAT WE MUST HAVE DRIVEN THROUGH A RAIN PUDDLE AND THAT WATER HAS LEAKED INTO OUT TRANSMISSION FLUID AND WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIR EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE PREVIOUS 3 TIMES AND THE PARTS AND LABOR ARE STILL UNDER WARRANTY. *JS

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 . THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY WOULD NOT MOVE FROM PARK TO ANY OTHER GEAR .THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY STATED THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55538.
WHEN I STARTED 2006 CHRYSLER 300 AND ATTEMPTED TO PUT IN GEAR, THE GEAR SHIFTER WOULD NOT WORK. THE VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN PARK. I HAD TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER ASSEMBLY. I HAD TO PAY FOR TOWING ($130.40), RENTAL CAR($86.00), AND TO REPLACE THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY($249.18)! THE SERVICE REP SAID TO KEEP RECEIPT BECAUSE THIS WAS A BIG PROBLEM WITH THAT PARTICULAR MODEL AND THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL REPAIR. BUT NOT AT THAT TIME. THE CAR HAD 40,556 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS INCEDENT HAPPENED.

A/C SYSTEM MOLD AND FUNGUS REMOVAL SERVICE DONE ON 2006 CHRYSLER 300 BECAUSE OF CONSTANT ODOR FROM A/C VENT DURING COOLING INTERIOR,SERVICE DONE BY CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP ON 08/25/10 WITH 47,944MI ON VEHICLE. THE ODOR PROBLEM IS BACK AGAIN AND IS ONLY NOTICEABLE DURING A/C OPERATION,I PLAN ON RETURNING TO THE DEALERSHIP ASAP ,IT'S ONLY BEEN 12 DAYS SINCE PROBLEM WAS ADDRESSED. *TR
IN DEC 09 MY CAR BEGAN TO STALL AT LOW SPEEDS SUCH AS APPROACHING LIGHTS AND MAKING TURNS. I TOOK IT INTO MY LOCAL DEALER THAT HAS PERFORMED ALL WORK ON MY CAR AND THEY SAID IT WAS A COMPUTER UPDATE. IN JUNE 2010 MY CAR STARTED DOING THE SAME THING - CUTTING OFF AT SLOW SPEEDS AND MAKING TURNS. I TOOK IT IN ONCE AGAIN AND THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM SO THEY HAD NO FIX FOR IT. I RESEARCHED THROUGH FORUMS AND FOUND MANY OTHER CHRYSLER 300 OWNERS THAT COMPLAIN OF THE SAME ISSUE, YET NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING IT. AT THAT POINT I WENT TO THE SERVICE MANAGER BECAUSE I JUST COULD NOT DRIVE MY CAR AWAY KNOWING THE DANGERS OF IT STALLING IN TRAFFIC AND NOT CRANKING. HE MADE SOME CALLS AFTER LOOKING AT THE INFORMATION THAT I HAD FOUND IN MY RESEARCH AND DECIDED TO CHANGE THE IGNITION COILS TO SEE IF THAT MAY ALLEVIATE THE PROBLEM. I PICKED MY CAR UP APPROXIMATELY THE END OF JUNE 2010 AFTER 2 WEEKS OF BEING IN THE SHOP AND BEING ADVISED THAT THE PROBLEM MAY NOT BE RESOLVED AS THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE WAS EXACTLY AND ALTHOUGH MY WARRANTY EXPIRES IN JULY, THEY WOULD STILL HONOR IT IF THE STALLING OCCURS AGAIN. ON AUG 24,2010 IT STALLED ONCE AGAIN AT AN INTERSECTION AND WOULD NOT CRANK BACK UP THIS TIME. I HAD IT PUSHED OUT OF THE LINE OF TRAFFIC AND TOWED TO THE DEALER ONCE AGAIN - WARRANTY EXPIRED THIS TIME OF COURSE - THEY ARE NOW SAYING IT CANNOT BE THE SAME ISSUE BECAUSE THIS TIME IT DID NOT CRANK BACK UP, WHICH I AM WORKING WITH CHRYSLER ON THIS ISSUE, BUT, SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE TO MAKE CHRYSLER FIND THE ISSUE THAT IS CAUSING THIS STALLING AS IT CAN BECOME A TRAGEDY IF IT SHOULD STALL IN THE LINE OF TRAFFIC AND AFTER ALL THE RESEARCH I DID - ITS OBVIOUS THAT IT IS A PROBLEM WITH AT LEAST THIS MAKE AND MODEL BECAUSE I FOUND MANY WHO COMPLAINED OF THE EXACT SAME THING WITH NO ONE BEING ABLE TO EXPLAIN WHY IT IS HAPPENS OR ANY REMEDY TO FIX IT. I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY CHRYSLER IS NOT MAKING THIS MORE PUBLIC CONSIDERING THE DANGERS OF IT. *TR

THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE WAS COMMON IN HIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL BUT DID NOT INFORM THE CONTACT OF THE EXACT FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,246.
OWNING MY CHRYSLER 300C HAS BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF AN NIGHTMARE..I HAVE HAD THE CAR POWER DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, IN THE CITY AND JUST RECENTLY ON A SATURDAY 11/12/11 NIGHT ON A DESOLATE ROAD WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR.. WHEN IT SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT RESTART. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES ADVISING THEM THAT THERE IS NO HEAT IN THE CAR UNLESS YOUR DRIVING THAT IT STARTS DELAYED AND EVERY TIME THEY HAVE SAID THERE IS NO CODE SO THEREFORE THEY CANT TROUBLE SHOOT..I JUST FEEL AS THOUGH THIS CAR IS A DEATH TRAP WAITING TO HAPPEN TO GO FROM 70 MILES AN HOUR TO COMPLETELY LOSE POWER IS DANGEROUS..IT IS NOT A SAFE NOR RELIABLE CAR AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.. *TR
MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300 STUCK IN PARK IN A SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT. WAITED 2 HRS FOR A TOW TRUCK IN THE HOT AZ HEAT. TRUCK DRIVER SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR CHRYSLER AND WHAT HE GETS THE MOST CALLS FOR. DEALERSHIP ALSO STATED IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM. I WAS THE 3RD CAR THAT DAY COMING INTO THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. CASHIER STATED IT HAPPENS EVERYDAY AND CHRYSLER SHOULD RECALL. IT IS A PLASTIC PIECE THAT BREAKS ON THE GEARSHIFT. IT WAS EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR. THEY LEAD ME TO BELIEVE IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN. CHRYSLER SHOULD RECALL THE CARS AND FIX WITH A DURABLE PART AT THEIR EXPENSE. IT MAKES ME NERVOUS TO KNOW IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN SINCE I DRIVE BACK AND FORTH TO SAN DIEGO AND DON'T WANT THIS TO HAPPEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT. *TR

7/16/2010 I PARKED ON THE STREET IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND DECIDED I WANTED TO PARK CLOSER TO THE CURB. I TURNED THE CAR ON AND IT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I HAD THE CAR TOWED ON 7/18/2010. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER SAID HE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR, AND THAT IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS HE HAD TOWED CLOSE TO 20 CHRYSLER BRAND VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE SHIFTERS ARE HAVING TO BE REPLACED, BECAUSE OF A BROKEN PART. I WAS FORTUNATE I WAS AT HOME AND HAD ALREADY PARKED. NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE THE CAR REPAIRED $350 FOR PARTS AND LABOR. I'M GRATEFUL IT DIDN'T HAPPEN IN A DIFFERENT GEAR, IN TRAFFIC AND ON THE HIGH WAY. THE PART IS NOT A REGULAR MAINTENANCE ITEM. I BELIEVE THERE IS A RECALL ON THE 2005 MODEL WHERE THEY REFER TO IT AS A "PAWL."
