The contact stated that several days after the recall repair was completed, the contact had to adjust the ignition switch to start the vehicle. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.
Engine stall immediately following fuel tank fill up. Chrysler refuses x53 lifetime extended warranty. Service bulletin 14-002-14 Applies to 2005-2006. I own 2008. Identical car. Identical problem. Happens every time fuel is filled.
There is a fuel smell in the car, for the first 1/4 tank of gas. The smell is really bad in the back seat. After the car is under 1/2 tank the fuel odor begins to subside. Passengers in car begin to have headaches and upset stomachs. After veiwing other chrysler forum's - I believe this to be common with this style of car and an extreme Safety issue
The contact’s friend owns a 2008 Chrysler 300C. The contact stated that while his friend was starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal burning odor entering the vehicle through the vents. The contact was informed that there was an unknown warning illuminated. The contact’s friend was no longer able to start the vehicle. Additionally, the key fob was not able to unlock the doors. The contact stated that the key fob battery was replaced; however, the vehicle was no longer starting. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V567000 (Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
I informed the dealership of ignition switch recall shortly after purchasing vehicle. The dealership stated " the VIN number shows no recalls". And that was it said there nothing showing up. I KNOW ignition switch is messed up because every time I would turn the car off I could still feel it running. I've had my car a year and now it will not crank due to ignition switch and now fuel air intake is also messing up and has caused cylinder 6 to miss fire. I have been without a vehicle for a month now and I need it fixed. When test driving the car, it would slow down as I was turning into a place of business and almost getting hit by another vehicle.
When taking vehicle for test drive about a month ago, the check engine light was on and after driving it, i noticed when AC was on and when off, the car loses power. When i go to pull out it has no power and i almost got hit in the side every time i would pull out from a busy highway. They had check engine light looked at and they said computer told them it was air valve leak or something like that. I had appointment for them to further assist and they said they could not find anything wrong. I can hear where the valve might be leaking at. The brakes are not good. I had to put on the brakes today fast and brake pedal acted like they were gonna skid out from under my foot. Brakes are new so why is it acting like i have no brakes and there is barley any acceleration. Something is going on and i don't want to be in a car accident just because our warnings are being over looked.

The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler 300C. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle lost motive power without warning. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the residence. The contact stated that an independent mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure; however, the mechanic stated that the failure could be related to the ignition switch. The contact stated that the vehicle was able to start intermittently; however, the contact stopped driving the vehicle due to a fear that the failure might recur while driving with his family. The contract stated that the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V567000 (Electrical System) in 2020. The dealer was contacted and stated that he had to pay for a diagnostic test and repair since the vehicle was previously repaired under the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 186,145.
Dealer is unable to order the recalled air bag. I had it in to be fixed a month ago, verified with dealer they had the part before I made the appointment. Took it in and they advised it is on backorder. Called 1q/10 and they advised they are NOT ALLOWED to order the part. What am I supposed to do?
I don't know what had happened I was driving one day and my air bag light came on and it stayed on. Never been in a accident since I got the car had it since 2021
While stopped at a stop light, one of the radiator cooling fans (plastic) disintegrated, severely damaging the radiator beyond repair. Engine coolant was quickly lost. We pulled off to the side of the road. We had to replace the cooling fans and radiator.
I HAVE A 2008 CHRYSLER 300 AND CHRYSLER HAS STOPPED PROVIDING UPDATES TO THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM IN 2018. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS THE NAVIGATOR PROVIDES PROMPT TO TURN ON THE ROAD WHICH NO LONGER EXIST AS WELL AS TRAVELING ON HIGHWAYS WHICH ARE SHOWN TO BE IN THE MIDDLE OF A FOREST OR SWAMP.
HAIR LIKE CRACKS ABOVE FUEL PUMP! CONSTANTLY LEAKING GAS N CAR STALLING OUT!!!
THE DEALER CHANGED THE IGNITION SWITCH PER THE RECALL 14V567000 FOR THE VEHICLE ABOUT 2-3 YEARS AGO FOR A DIFFERENT ISSUE WITH THE SWITCH. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE CAR ABOUT WEEK AGO JULY 30, 2020, SHE SAID SHE WAS AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON A BUSY STREET (LINCOLN HIGHWAY) IN CHICAGO HEIGHTS IL AND WHEN IT TURN GREEN SHE ATTEMPTED TO GO AND THE VEHICLE CUTOFF AND WOULD NOT START BACK UP. I ARRIVED TO HER LOCATION. ANOTHER DRIVER HAD PUSHED HER INTO A PARKING LOT TO GET HER OUT OF THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY, I TRIED TO START THE CAR AND IT WOULD NOT CATCH. IT WOULD CRANK PUT NOT TURN OVER, I HAD TO GET IT TOWED HOME. AFTER SOME TESTING OF COMPONENTS, SPARK, GAS PRESSURE AND FUEL PUMP IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A BAD IGNITION SWITCH WITH A P2533 CODE THAT STATED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH RUN POSITION SIGNAL. THIS IS A VERY TROUBLING EVENT SINCE MY RECENTLY TURN 18 DAUGHTER HAS NO EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SORT OF THING AND THANKFULLY THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT OR PHYSICAL HARM DONE. I SPOKEN WITH A PERSON AT A CHRYLSER DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT ABOUT MANUFACTURER COVERAGE BUT SHE DID NOT HAVE A CLUE AND TRANSFERRED MY CALL TO THE PARTS DEPARTMENT THAT STATED IT MIGHT RUN $800- 1,000.00 TO REPLACE THE SWITCH.
IT SEEMS CHRYSLER DOESN'T HAVE THE CORRECT FUEL PUMP ! THEY SELL MY 3 DIFFERENT ONES AND ALL DO NOT WORK. THEY EVEN MATCH IT WITH THE VIN! I CAN'T GET ONE TO WORK AND I SPENT THOUSANDS. A LOT OF OTHERS ON 300 FORUMS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE !! SO MANY 6.1 AND HIGHER THAT NEED THAT FUEL PUMP BUT CHRYSLER SEEMS TO KEEP SENDING ME PARTS AND TAKING MY MONEY! PLEASE HELP
CAR WILL TURN OFF WHEN DRIVING OUT OF NOWHERE AND I HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR ALL OVER AGAIN. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES ONE TIME AS I WAS TURNING INTO A STREET ANOTHER TIME AS I WAS SWITCHING LANES. THIS LAST TIME I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND THE CAR DID IT AGAIN.
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE, THINKING IT WAS GREAT. I TRIED DRIVING IT HOME, AND NEVER MADE IT. I LOST ALL POWER ON THE HIGHWAY IN FRONT OF THE SEMI. IN RETURN I DID NOT HAVE BRAKES, I DIDN'T HAVE STEERING, ALL LIGHTS TURNED OFF, AND TO TOP IT OFF IT WOULDN'T START AGAIN. I'VE REPLACED THE PCM, STARTER, ALTERNATOR, THE POWER DISTRIBUTION, ALL THE FUSES/RELAYS, AND HERE I AM STILL SPENDING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO TRY TO GET MY VEHICLE TO WORK AGAIN, AND IT'S NOT SEEMING POSSIBLE. I HAVE 2 KIDS AND NOW ONCE I GET IT STARTED I MUST WORRY IF IT'LL HAPPEN AGAIN. THE CAR ONLY HAS 120,000 MILES ON IT. IT'S BEEN VERY WELL KEPT. AND NOW I'VE BOUGHT ALL THESE PARTS AND PAID ALL THIS MONEY TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. AND NOW I'M OUT OF MY OTHER VEHICLE, AND WITH THE CORONA VIRUS I AM OUT OF WORK, AND HAVE NO WAY TO KEEP SPENDING MONEY TO FIX IT OR FIND OUT THE PROBLEM. THE ELECTRIC LIGHT WAS ON I REPLACED THROTTLE AND SENSOR AS WELL. THAT DIDN'T FIX IT NEITHER.

FOR THE AXLE OR THE WHEEL BEARINGS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT EVERY TIME I TURN THE WHEEL TO A CERTAIN ANGLE IT POPS ALSO HAS HARD VIBRATION WHILE DRIVING THE BUTTONS HAVE FALLEN OFF THE SEATS THE STEERING PULLS TO THE RIGHT HAS RUST BY THE GAS TANK 0102 SINCE BANKS SENSORS HAVE ONE OUT AND HAS STOPPED STARTING OCCASIONALLY HAVE REPLACED KEY FOB BUT IT OCCASIONALLY STILL HAPPENS AND THE FLOW SENSOR ALERT IS COMING ON FOR THE CODE AIRBAG RECALL NEEDS DONE THE WHEELS PRESSURE SENSOR GAUGE NEVER TURNS OFF FOR THE ALERT I'VE HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED THREE TIMES BECAUSE I'M NON-START AND ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON ALSO DANGEROUSLY THE HEAT SHIELD HAD COME APART ON MY CAR JUST RECENTLY 2020 SUPER DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING
I HAD A RECALL TO REPLACE IGNITION SWITCH, HAD IT REPLACED AND RETURNED TO SHOP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE STARTER IS GOING OUT. REPLACED STARTER AND THE IGNITION IS DOING WHAT THE RECALL STATED. SOMETIMES IT STARTS ON ACC AND SOMETIMES NOT AT ALL. SO I REPLACED THE STARTER WHEN IT WAS THE SWITCH ALL ALONG.
WE HAD THE IGNITION SERVICED A FEW YEARS BACK THEN IT SAT INOP UNTIL RECENTLY NOW THE SAME PROBLEM WITH IGNITION ONLY THIS TIME IT WONT SHUT OFF
PURCHASED 2008 CHRYSLER 300C ABOUT A MONTH AGO. INTERIOR HAS ODOR OF GASOLINE. I GOOGLED AND READ ABOUT THE ISSUE. SEEMS IT IS NOT UNCOMMON AND SOME FOLKS HAVE FOUND CRACKED PUMP OR A NEED FOR REPLACING THE SEAL OF PUMP. I DON'T SEE ANY FUEL SITTING ON TOP WHEN I PULL UP THE REAR SEAT. USUALLY SMELL AFTER CAR SITS FOR AWHILE THEN SEEMS TO DISSIPATE WHILE DRIVING.. COULD IT BE SOMETHING ELSE IN ENGINE? THIS IS AN EVERYDAY OCCURRENCE WITH THE ODOR.
YOU HAVE A CHRYSLER RECALL P57. THIS EXACT PROBLEM HAPPENED TO MY 2008 CHRYSLER 300 WALTER P. CHRYSLER SIGNATURE EDITION BUT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN YOUR RECALL. IT COST AT LEAST $1,000 TO FIX THIS OUT OF POCKET. PLEASE EXPAND YOUR RECALL SO I CAN BE REIMBURSED FOR THIS COSTLY REPAIR.
THE IGITION SWITCH HAS BEEN REPLACED FEW YEARS BACK ON A RECALL AND NOW HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. CAR IS HARD TO START

T-BONED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, SUDDENLY A VEHICLE CAME OUT OF A PARKING LOT, THE CONTACT T-BONE THE VEHICLE ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED. THE CONTACT WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS BACK SPASMS, SHOULDER PAIN AND WHIPLASH. THE CONTACT WAS TREATED AND RELEASED. THE POLICE WAS PRESENT AN A POLICE REPORT WAS ISSUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED RECEIVING RECALL NOTIFICATIONS FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V373000 (AIR BAGS) AND 15V352000 (AIR BAGS ), PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND CRASHED INTO A CURB. THE CONTACT THEN NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONTACT ALSO SMELLED A BURNING ODOR WITHIN THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED. THE HOOD WAS OPENED AND AN OFF DUTY FIREMAN WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH FLAMES COMING FROM THE ALTERNATOR. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE SCENE AWAITING THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO HAVE IT TOWED TO JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM FIAT OF ONTARIO (LOCATED AT 1202 AUTO CENTER DR, ONTARIO, CA 91761, (909) 906-7097) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ANTI-FREEZE WAS LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT HAD NOT ISSUED A POWER TRAIN RECALL TO PROVIDE A REMEDY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
"TAKATA RECALL" I HAVE HAD NO ACCIDENT OF ANY KIND! TELL YOU THAT RIGHT OFF THE BAT. REASON FOR THIS CONTACT IS THAT NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT CARS WITH SIDE IMPACT AND SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS MADE BY TAKATA! I BRING THIS UP HERE BECAUSE I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND A PLACE TO REPORT THIS PROBLEM TO YOU WITHOUT HAVING AN ACCIDENT! I HAVE NO PERSONAL INJURY EITHER! I DO NOT WANT ONE WITH THESE TAKATA SIDE AIRBAGS EITHER! NOW THAT YOU UNDERSTAND WHY I AM USING THIS SITE TO REPORT THIS POSSIBLE PROBLEM LET ME TELL YOU WHY I AM DOING THIS. STILL WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CHRYSLER 300 NEW IT CAME WITH THE PROTECTION GROUP OPTION! THE THING THAT IS IN THIS OPTION THAT IS OF CONCERN IS THE FACT THAT IT COME WITH THE SIDE IMPACT AND SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS! WHEN THIS CAR HAD THE TAKATA IN THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS THEN IT IS LOGICAL THAT THE FACTORY WOULD HAVE TAKATA SIDE AIRBAGS FOR THE SIDE IMPACT AND CURTAIN AIRBAGS WHEN THE CAR WAS MADE! I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND STILL THE OWNER OF THIS CAR! I DO NOT WANT ANY TAKATA AIRBAGS IN THIS CAR. NOW THAT TAKATA HAS FILED BANKRUPTCY THAT MAKE IT AN EVEN BIGGER PROBLEM! I DID CONTACT CHRYSLER AND THEIR DEALER. THE FIRST TIME THEY WOULD NOT HELP WITH TELLING ME IF THOSE AIRBAGS WERE MADE BY TAKATA. ON THE SECOND TIME THE DEALER WILL TAKE ONE APART TO SEE IF IT IS TAKATA BUT IT WOULD COST $384.00! ONE MORE TIME NO ACCIDENT NOW OR IN THE PAST REASON FOR THIS CONTACT THROUGH THIS IS BECAUSE I SAW NO WHERE ELSE TO DO IT. I UNDERSTOOD THAT THE GOVERNMENT WILL HAVE TO HAVE TO REACH SOME NUMBER BEFORE DOING ANYTHING FOR A RECALL. THAT IS AN ISSUE THAT CAN SHOW FALSE RESULTS. I CAN SAY THAT BECAUSE SIDE AIRBAGS ARE IN SMALLER NUMBERS THAT THOSE WITHOUT BAGS! RECALL *JS
WE DROVE THE CAR TO GEORGIA FROM MISSISSIPPI. AS WE PULLED IN THE DRIVEWAY WE HEARD A LOUD NOISE AS SOMETHING WAS CRUMBLING. WE SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND NOTICED COOLANT ALL OVER THE GROUND. WE CALLED A MECHANIC AND HE SAID THE FAN TORE UP AND CAUSED THE BLADES TO PUNCTURE HOLES INTO THE RADIATOR. IT WAS FIXED AND AS WE BEGAN TO LEAVE WE WENT ABOUT5-10 DOWN THE ROAD AND THE CAR MADE A LOUD SOUND WE SHUT IT OFF INSTANTLY AND ADDED COOLANT HOWEVER THE CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN. TRIED BOOSTING IT OFF AND IT STILL WON'T START. WE ARE BEING TOLD THE ENGINE SEIZED. WE HAD NO WARNING LIGHTS COME ON . CAR DROVE LIKE A PERFECT CAR. THEY DID SAY THE OIL WAS 1/2 QUART LOW. WE ARE GONNA TOW IT BACK TO MISSISSIPPI TO HAVE IT FIXED
PULLING INTO DRIVEWAY, I LATER NOTICED FLUID ON THE GROUND. OPENED UP HOOD AND FOUND OUT RADIATOR FAN BLADE BROKE OFF AND PUNCTURED THE RADIATOR RESULTING IN HAVING TO REPLACE BOTH RADIATOR AND FAN ASSEMBLY. CHRYSLER ISSUED A CSN (CUSTOMER SERVICE NOTICE) THAT THIS MAY HAPPEN, BUT NO SAFETY RECALL ISSUED.

ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE INDICATOR TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SNETHKAMP CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (11600 TELEGRAPH RD, REDFORD CHARTER TWP, MI 48239, (313) 429-0013) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,105.
THE FLOOR SHIFTER IS HANGING IN PARK AFTER I HAVE PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. WHEN I GET BACK IN THE CAR AND START IT UP, I CAN NOT GET IT OUT OF PARK. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM / RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH CHRYSLER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION K39 FOR THE 2005-2007 MODELS.
WAS DRIVING VEHICLE AND OUT OF NO WHERE THERE WAS STEAM/SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER HOOD, THE CAR HOWEVER NEVER RAN HOT ACCORDING TO TEMPERATURE GAGE. COOLANT LIGHT CAME ON, I PARKED IT, FILLED IT WITH COOLANT AND TOOK IT TO CHRYSLER THE NEXT MORNING. DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THAT THE CAR OVERHEATED AND DAMAGED THE MOTOR, HOWEVER ACCORDING TO THE GAGE THE CAR NEVER RAN HOT.
ON 1/31/18 I TOOK MY CHRYSLER 300 IN FOR THREE RECALL (P57) (R25) AND (S43) WHEN I PICK MY CAR UP I WAS TOLD THAT RECALL P57 WAS NOT DONE DUE TO PART BEING ON BACK ORDER AND IT WOULD BE 2 OR 3 WEEKS. ON 2/1/18 I RECIVED A CALL FROM DEALERSHIP REMINDING ME OF APPOINTMENT 0N 2/2/18 TO BRING MY CAR IN FOR RECALL ISSUES P57 THAT THEY HAD PART SO I DID. AFTER PICKING MY CAR UP ON 2/2/18 I WAS ON MY WAY HOME AND MADE A STOP AND WHEN I GOT BACK IN MY CAR IT WOULD NOT START, SO I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT WHAT THEY DID WOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CAR NOT STARTING BUT IF I NEEDED A TOW TRUCK TO BRING THE CAR TO THEM THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT, BUT IF IT WASN'T CAUSED BY WHAT THEY DID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT FIXED. MY CAR HAD NO ISSUES TILL THE DEALERSHIP FIXED THE 3 RECALLS, NOW IT WONT START AND THE IGNITION MAKES A CLICKING NOISE WHEN U TRY TO START IT AND CANT MOVE SHIFTER OUT OF PARK. ALSO NO RECALL STICKERS WERE PUT IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT SHOWING THAT A RECALL ISSUES WAS FIXED AND IT SHOWS ON LINE THAT THE RECALL ISSUES STILL HAS NOT BEEN DONE. WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THIS.

UNABLE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK WHEN CAR IS COLD AND FIRST STARTED. SECOND ATTEMPT LETS IT GET OUT OF PARK. CHRYSLER STATES THIS IS NOT PART OF RECALL K39 HOWEVER SYSTEMS ARE THE SAME. WHEN CAR IS WARM THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN.
CAR WAS RUNNING FINE WENT TO MOVE IT OUT OF SOMEONE'S WAY STARTED FINE MOVE THE CAR WENT BACK OUT AN HOUR LATER AND THE CAR WILL NOT START CRANKS BUT DOES NOT FIRE
WHEN COLD CANNOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. HAVE TO RESTART TO GET IT TO SHIFT. TOLD BY CHRYSLER NOT COVERED INDER RECALL K59 TRANSMISSION INTERLOCK PROBLEM. ALL EVIDENCE HOWEVR SEEMS TO POINT TO THE SAME PROBLEM ON THIS YEAR 300. HAVE APPT TO HAVE LOOKED AT BY DEALER WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER COULD ALSO BE FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH WHICH WAS REPLACED.
I HAD THE IGNITION CONTROL MODULE REPLACED IN APRIL 2016 DUE TO RECALL. TODAY I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE NOT STARTING. WHEN I TURN THE IGNITION TO START POSITION, THERE IS A PAUSE, AND NOTHING HAPPENS. I HAVE RULED OUT A NEW BATTERY, STARTER, ALTERNATOR FAULTS. RESEARCH HAS NARROWED IT TO THE PCM, TIPM, OR THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE. HAVE MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE CHRYSLER DEALER TO DIAGNOSE FURTHER. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY.
SINCE FUELING THERE IS A STRONG SMELL OF GAS INSIDE VEHICLE AND NEAR PASSENGER REAR WHEEL WELL AFTER VEHICLE SITS. THERE IS NO SIGN OF LEAKING ANYWHERE. FOUND A LARGE NUMBER OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, BUT NO SOLUTIONS ONLINE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER 300. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE MODULE WAS STUCK BETWEEN THE RUN AND START POSITION. THE KEY DID NOT REMAIN IN THE RUN POSITION. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED THREE OTHER TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED A SPRING REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,783.
LAST YEAR P57 RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE NOW THEY TOLD ME THAT THE TIPM MODULE IS GOING BAD I BELIEVE THAT THAT WAS REPLACED OR SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED WHEN THE RECALL P57 WAS PERFORMED I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE IT NOW I'M BEING TOLD THAT I HAVE TO PAY $1691 FOR PARTS AND LABOR THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST CHRYSLER THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM FOR SOME REASON THEY HAVE NOT PUT IN A RECALL AND THE RECALL P57 DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM IT IS VERY UNSAFE THE CAR STALLS OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT START AT ALL IT IS OBVIOUSLY AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE 2007 BUT FOR SOME REASON CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ISSUE A RECALL THIS IS THE THIRD RECALL THAT I HAVE HAD TO GET DONE ON THIS VEHICLE IN A YEAR THE S43 WAS NEVER SENT TO ME THE ONLY WAY I FOUND OUT ABOUT THAT RECALL IS WHEN I CALL CHRYSLER ABOUT MY CAR STALLING AND NOT STARTING AT ALL I NEED SOMEONE TO LOOK INTO IT I DON'T SEE WHY I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A FAULTY PRODUCT THAT IS IN MILLIONS OF VEHICLES BY THE CHRYSLER DODGE AND JEEP BRAND
I HAVE NOT RECEIVED RECALL LETTER FOR PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG
TIPM IS BAD CASING A NO START ISSUE AND THE CAR WILL PERIODICALLY STALL AND NOT RESTART LEAVING YOU STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.
VEHICLE TIPM IS FAULTY AND CAR DOES NOT START. THIS OCCURRED AFTER VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, IT WORKED FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS AND LATER STOPPED OUT OF NOWHERE. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE IN THE PARK POSITION, THE VEHICLE JOLTED AND THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL SOUND FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT OPENEND THE HOOD AND OBSERVED THAT THE RADIATOR FAN FAILED AND CAUSED THE PARTS TO PIERCE THE RADIATOR WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, RADIATOR FLUID LEAKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,200.
