I HAVE BEEN GETTING CHRYSLER RECALL LETTERS FOR 9 MONTHS NOW. (RECALL# P57 NHTSA 14V 567). EVERY MONTH WHEN I CALL DEALERSHIP, ATLANTIC CHRYSLER-JEEP, 6820 TILTON RD, PLEASANTVILLE, NJ 08232 PHONE:(609) 646-8600, THEY TELL ME THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART AND DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE. THERE ARE 200 CARS ON RECALL BEFORE MY TURN. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE AIRBAG AND IGNITION STICKING BETWEEN START AND RUN POSITIONS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE GAUGES MALFUNCTIONED AND THE VEHICLE BECAME INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V567000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DIAGNOSTIC DETERMINED THAT THE FAILURE WAS AN ANTI-LOCK BRAKE ISSUE. AFTER A 23 POINT INSPECTION, THE VEHICLE WAS STILL INOPERABLE. THE MOTOR FRACTURED AND LOCKED AFTER THE INSPECTION AND THE HOSES WERE DRY ROTTED. IN ADDITION, THERE WERE TWO BOLTS ON THE FLOORBOARD OF THE VEHICLE. THE RADIATOR LEAKED FLUID AFTER THE REPAIR WITH AN ADDITIONAL CASE OF SPARK PLUG RUST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

EVEN WHEN THE KEY WAS REMOVED, THE KEY WAS STILL REGISTERED IN THE IGNITION AND WOULD NOT POWER OFF. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE PROBLEM STARTED WITH THE CAR SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING. NOW THE CAR WON'T START AT ALL DUE TO THE FAULTY IGNITION IN THE 2008 CHRYSLER 300 WHICH HAS HAD A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM SINCE SEPTEMBER OF 2014. IT IS THE P57 RECALL. WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE OUR VEHICLE FOR 3 MONTHS. AND CHRYSLER NOR ANY OF THEIR AFFILIATES/DEALERSHIPS HAVE OFFERED US ANY FIX BE IT TEMPORARY, PERMANENT OR BY JUST LOANING US A CAR. WHICH IS RIDICULOUS AND REALLY IS A HARDSHIP FOR A MOTHER WITH AN INFANT AND 5 YEAR OLD WHO GOES TO SCHOOL. *TR
CONTINENTAL CONTI-PRO CONTACT TIRES P225-60R18 99H TOOK CAR IN FOR VALVE JOB AND WHILE DRIVING HOME THE FRONT END WAS SHAKING. TOOK BACK AND WAS DUE TO BAD TIRES, STEEL BELT COMING THROUGH ON FRONT CONTINENTAL CONTI PRO CONTACT TIRES. THE TIRES HAD AT LEAST ANOTHER 20,000 MILES WEAR LEFT ON THEM. THIS WAS THE SECOND SET OF TIRES (NOT ORIGINAL TIRES) ON THIS VEHICLE SO SHOULD HAVE LASTED LONGER THAN THIS. TIRE DEFECT?? *JS
HAVE HAD 3 INCIDENTS IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS WHERE THE CAR WOULD NOT SHUT OFF WHEN THE KEY WAS IN THE OFF POSITION. THE MOST RECENT OCCASION ON 3/26/15 THE CAR HAD BEEN SHUT OFF AND THE KEY REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION AND IT CONTINUED TO RUN WITH THE HEADLIGHTS AND INTERIOR LIGHTS STILL ON. IN EACH CASE, IT HAS TAKEN NUMEROUS TRIES, INCLUDING PUTTING THE CAR IN GEAR AND MOVING IT TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN SHUTTING IT DOWN. CONTACTED CHRYSLER GROUP AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP AND HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC DONE, AND IF IT WAS DETERMINED TO BE THE FAILED IGNITION SWITCH ( WHICH I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL FOR IN OCTOBER 2014), THEY WOULD COVER THE COST OF THE DIAGNOSTICS. I CONTACTED A LOCAL DEALER AND MADE APPOINTMENT TO HAVE DIAGNOSTIC DONE. UPON ARRIVAL, I INFORMED THEM OF WHAT THE ISSUE WAS, AND WAS TOLD I WOULD BE WAITING UPWARDS OF 3 HOURS TO HAVE IT COMPLETED AND EVEN IF THEY FOUND THAT THE ISSUE WAS RELATED TO THE RECALL, WHICH I WAS TOLD IT MOST LIKELY WAS, THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO, AS THERE WERE NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME AND THEY COULD NOT TELL ME AN APPROXIMATE DATE WHEN THE REPLACEMENT PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE. I DID NOT WAIT THE 3 HOURS TO HAVE THE DIAGNOSTIC DONE. I AM NERVOUS TO DRIVE THE CAR, AS NOW THAT I AM HAVING AN ISSUE AND KNOWING THAT THERE COULD BE MORE ISSUES RELATED TO THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL (POSSIBLE SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING, ETC. ETC.). I KNOW THERE ARE MANY OTHER 2008 CHRYSLER 300 OWNERS THAT ARE IN THE SAME POSITION. THIS RECALL IS TAKING TOO LONG TO START RESOLVING, AND AT LEAST FOR MY PART IN IT, I HAVE CONTACTED A FAMILY LAWYER AND RELAYED THE INFORMATION, IN THE EVENT THAT I AM HURT OR KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT RELATED TO THIS SAFETY RECALL. MY CHRYSLER 300 OIL DIPSTICK COULDN'T BE REMOVE TO CHECK OIL LEVEL. DIPSTICK IS MADE OUT OF PLASTIC AND BY IT BEING EXPOSE TO HIGH TEMP STICK SEIZE IN IT'S HOLDER AND COULDN'T BE REMOVE WITHOUT IT BREAKING. CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT THIS DEFECT AND STILL WANT TO CHARGE IT CUSTOMERS 90.00 TO FIX THE PROBLEM, WHICH MIGHT HAPPEN AGAIN BECAUSE THE NEW DIPSTICK IS MADE OF PLASTIC ALSO. *TR

I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH STARTING THE CAR AS WELL AS THE CAR STARTING BY ITSELF WITHOUT ME EVEN TURNING THE KEY TO START POSITION. ELECTRICAL ISSUES ARE ALSO PRESENT IN STARTING CAR, THE PROBLEM IS GETTING WORSE DAY AFTER DAY. I HAVE STAYED STRANDED AT SEVERAL DIFFERENT PLACES JUST TRYING TO START THE CAR. I HAVE HAD 2 REGISTERED AUTOMOTIVE SHOPS CHECK OUT THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING WITH THE CAR & THEY BOTH HAVE TOLD ME IT'S THE IGNITION. I AM A FEMALE & CAN NOT CONTINUE TO BE STRANDED TRYING TO START THE CAR & LOSING ELECTRICAL POWER TO LOCK DOORS/ ROLL UP WINDOWS ETC... SINCE THIS IS A RECALL ON MY CAR, IT SHOULD BE FIXED IMMEDIATELY BY THE DEALER/CHRYSLER GROUP, I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PUT THE MONEY TO FIX IT MYSELF, IF IT CAUSES MORE PROBLEMS/ISSUES WITH THE CAR THEN THE CHRYSLER GROUP SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FURTHER PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE.
