THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HWY 29 N (THE FOUR LANE) THE ABS, TRACTION CONTROL AND THE BATTERY INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL AND CAR STOPPED IMMEDIATELY AND ALL THE ELECTRONICS WERE GONE. I COULD NOT PUT ON MY EMERGENCY BLINKERS OR GET THE CAR IN GEAR TO PUSH OFF THE HIGHWAY. THIS INCIDENT PUT MY LIFE IN DANGER AND IT REALLY COULD HAVE A TRAGIC ENDING. WITH CARS ON ALL SIDES OF ME, NOT ONLY WAS I IN DANGER BUT I HAD FOUR PASSENGERS IN THE CAR WITH ME. TWO OF THEM BEING MY SMALL GRANDCHILDREN. A POLICE OFFICER SAW MY DILEMMA AND CAME TO OUR RESCUE TO AND ASSISTED US UNTIL WE GOT THE EVERYONE ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. MY CAR WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP. AT THE DEALERSHIP THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT THE ALTERNATOR SHORTED OUT AND DESTROYED MY BATTERY. THE COST TO REPAIR WAS $1450.00 I CALLED CHRYSLER ABOUT THE ELECTRONICS AND WAS TOLD MY CAR WAS NOT ONE THAT HAD A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM.. THIS AUTOMOBILE IS TOTALLY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT HIGH INTERSTATE SPEEDS IF THE ELECTRONICS CAN SHUT DOWN WITH LITTLE WARNING.
THERE HAS BEEN A SAFETY RECALL WITH THE VEHICLE SINCE JULY 2016. THIS SAFETY ISSUE CAN POTENTIAL CAUSE HARM AND EVEN DEATH IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE SPOKE TO CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL 1ST QUARTER OF 2017.
FUEL TRANSFER PUMP ASSEMBLY FAILED ON THIS MODEL AND WAS TOLD THAT NO MOPAR PARTS IN THE COUNTRY ARE AVAILABLE. THE SERVICE GROUP WORKING ON THIS CAR WHEN CONFERRING WITH CHRYSLER PARTS. THAT THERE HAVE BEEN ALLOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS RIGHT SIDE ASSEMBLY. I HAVE FORMALLY PROVIDED CHRYSLER A COMPLIANT TODAY. I WAS TOLD BY THE REPAIR SHOP DOING THE WORK, THAT HE FEELS THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD RECALL AS THE PASSENGER R SIDE ASSEMBLY SEEMS TO BE THE WORST OF THE TWO IN THIS VEHICLE. CAN YOU LOOK INTO THIS. LUCKILY WE WERE ABLE TO GET AN AFTER MARKET PART FROM INDIANA SO WE CAN DRIVE THE CAR. IN IT'S PRESENT STATE THE GAS FUMES RADIATING FROM UNDER THE BACK SEATS WERE DANGEROUS THAT COULD LEAD TO A EXTREME DANGER TO THE OCCUPANTS. REGARDS,

EXPECTING ME TO DRIVE A VEHICLE WHERE IF I DO HAPPEN TO GET IN A CRASH, WHEN THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY, INSTEAD OF SAVING MY PASSENGERS LIFE AS IT SHOULD, THE AIRBAG CAN DISPERSE METAL FRAGMENTS KILLING PASSENGERS IN MY CAR. YOU SHOULD BE RECALLING ENTIRE VEHICLES BASED ON THIS DANGER AND REPLACING VEHICLES.

"TAKATA RECALL" TODAY SUNDAY JULY 31,2016 I WAS DRIVING MY 2011 CHRYSLER 300 DOWN THE STREET IN A LANE OF BUSY TRAFFIC WITH MY FAMILY ALL OF A SUDDEN A RED LIGHT CAME ON IT LOOKED LIKE A BATTERY SYMBOL.SO I CONTINUED DRIVING HOPING TO MAKE IT HOME SAFELY WITH THE KIDS ALL OF A SUDDEN WHEN I MADE IT TO THE CURVE IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD MY RADIO SHUT DOWN THEN THE ALL LIGHTS LIT UP IN THE DASHBOARD AREA AND THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN IN THE CURVE.MY CAR COMPLETELY LOST POWER AND SHUT DOWN.MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS WOULDN'T EVEN WORK TO EVEN NOTIFY ONCOMING DRIVERS PULLING UP BEHIND ME BUT THANK GOD SOMEONE PULLED UP BEHIND UP AND HELPED US BY USING THEIR EMERGENCY FLASHERS UNTIL MY WRECKER ARRIVED.THERE WAS ALSO A BURNING SMELL COMING FROM MY HOOD.I'M REALLY DISAPPOINTED BY THIS INCIDENT IT PUT MY LIFE AND MY CHILDRENS LIFE IN DANGER.I HAD THE CHRYSLER 300 TOWED TO THE SHOP AND I AM WAITING ON THEIR REPORT OF WHAT WAS THE CAUSE FOR MY VEHICLE TO FAIL ME IN SUCH A DANGEROUS CURVE AND I WISH SOMEONE WOULD CONTACT ME DIRECTLY ABOUT MY FINDINGS CAUSE THIS INCIDENT COULD HAVE ENDED TRAGICALLY.
I OWN A 2011 CHRYSLER 300 WITH JUST OVER 46,000 MILES. MY WIFE IS THE DRIVER OF THIS VEHICLE. HAVING TROUBLE WITH TURNING OFF THE ENGINE. GEAR SHIFT IS IN "PARK" BUT INFORMATION SCREEN SAYS "VEHICLE NOT IN PARK" THUS WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING PERIODICALLY SINCE MAY 2016 AND HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. I TOOK CAR TO CHRYSLER SERVICE CENTER ON 07 19 16, AND AFTER 1 & HALF DAYS, ON 07 21 16 I WAS TOLD TO PICK UP VEHICLE, AND THAT THEY "COULD NOT DUPLICATE CUSTOMER CONCERN." THEIR SOLUTION WAS TO TRY SHIFTING BACK TO DRIVE AND THEN TO PARK, OR HOLD THE SHIFTER IN PARK. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING!! THIS IS NOT NORMAL!!! IMMEDIATELY AT MY FIRST STOP AND REMAINDER OF THE DAY, I COULD NOT TURN OF THE ENGINE RIGHT AWAY; IT TAKES UP TO 9 MINUTES OF SHIFTING BACK AND FORTH TO DRIVE AND PARK BEFORE IT FINALLY SHUTS OFF. TODAY, 07 31 16, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE, WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED, I HAD TO FUEL MY CAR WITH THE ENGINE STILL RUNNING BECAUSE I COULD NOT SHUT IT OFF!!! I WAS TERRIFIED THE WHOLE TIME BECAUSE OF THE DANGER OF EXPLOSION. THEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, THE "VEHICLE NOT IN PARK" MESSAGE WAS STILL ON. I COULD NOT CLEAR THIS MESSAGE. THEN WHEN I ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION, IT TOOK ANOTHER 5-6 MINUTES TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE. I HAVE TO SIT IN MY CAR UNTIL I CAN SHUT IT OF BECAUSE I'M AFRAID IT WILL SOMEHOW ENGAGE AND POSSIBLY TO DAMAGE TO PROPERTY OR INJURE SOMEONE, EVEN MYSELF. I'M TAKING THE CAR BACK TO CHRYSLER AGAIN TOMORROW IF I CAN GET AN APPOINTMENT.

TAKATA RECALL CHRYSLER SENT A NOTICE TO ME WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO GO TO THE WEB SITE "RECALLS.MOPAR.COM" TO SIGN UP FOR NOTIFICATION WHEN REPAIR PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE. I TRIED TO DO THIS BUT THE SPECIFIED WEB SITE WILL NOT ACCOMMODATE A SIGN UP. PLEASE INSTRUCT CHRYSLER TO FACILITATE THIS PROCESS SO THE CAR CAN BE REPAIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
THE CARS ALTENATOR FAILED CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STALL (SHUT DOWN) WE WERE TRAVELING ON THE BACK SIDE OF A STRIP MALL ON FLORIN ROAD. POPPING THE HOOD REVEALED THAT THERE WAS SMOKE AND A LOT OF IT. WE HAD TO PAY TO GET THE CAR TOWED HOME.

TAKATA RECALL: I AM AMAZED THAT A RECALL THAT CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH IS TREATED SO VERY LIGHTLY. IT GREATLY UPSETS ME THAT I COULD BE IN AN ACCIDENT AND DIE BUT NOT FROM THE ACCIDENT. I AM A 30 YEAR RETIRED AVIATION MAINTENANCE OFFICER, WE DIDN'T FLY OUR AIRCRAFT IF KNOWN SAFETY DEFECT COULD COST DEATH OF OUR PILOTS ARE AIRCREW. TAKATA RECALL. IT HAS BEEN OVER 6 MONTHS SINCE I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE FROM FIAT CHRYSLER AND THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT CANNOT TELL ME WHEN IT IS GOING TO BE FIXED.

ALTERNATOR BURNED UP DURING OPERATION DISABLING CAR AND PUTTING OUT STRONG BURNING SMELL. NOT COVERED UNDER PREVIOUS RECALL.
CHRYSLER HAS A SAFETY RECALL (P60) FOR AN ALTERNATOR PROBLEM WHICH CAN CAUSE THE ALTERNATOR TO FAIL CAUSING SUDDEN SHUTDOWN OF THE VEHICLE AND/OR FIRE. THE RECALL SPECIFICALLY STATES THE 160AMP ALTERNATOR IS AFFECTED, HOWEVER MANY DRIVERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THE 180AMP ALTERNATORS IN THE SAME AFFECTED VEHICLES. ON JUNE 2 2011, MY CAR SHUTDOWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A VERY BUSY STREET. I THEN NOTICED A BURNING SMELL, AND UPON FURTHER INSPECTION IT APPEARED TO BE COMING FROM THE ALTERNATOR. THE LOCATION OF THE SMELL WAS ALSO CONFIRMED BY THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER ABOUT THIS BUT WAS GIVEN NO ASSISTANCE. THE COST TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE DONE TO MY VEHICLE EXCEEDS $1000. THE RESULT OF MY VEHICLE SHUTTING DOWN SUDDENLY COULD HAVE ENDED IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. FORTUNATELY, MY CHILDREN WERE NOT IN THE CAR AT THE TIME. CHRYSLER IS REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE 180 AMP ALTERNATOR IN THE 300 MODEL.

FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS I'VE NOTICED THAT MY VEHICLE WOULD MAKE A WEIRD WHINING NOISE WHEN I WOULD CRANK IT IN THE MORNING. SO TODAY WHILE CRANKING MY VEHICLE I NOTICED THAT IT WAS HESITANT TO START THEN I RECEIVED A MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD STATING "BATTERY SAVER MODE". I THEN NOTICED THE WHINING NOISE GETTING LOUDER AND LOUDER AND THEN I STARTED TO SMELL A BURNING SMELL THAT WAS COMING THROUGH THE VENTS. I NOTICED THAT CHRYSLER ISSUED AN ALTERNATOR RECALL FOR 3.6L VEHICLES ONLY AND I FEEL THAT ONE SHOULD BE ISSUED TO COVER THOSE WHO HAVE THE 5.7L VEHICLES. I'VE NOTICED THAT SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND CHRYSLER SHOULD DO SOMETHING TO FIX IT.
CHRYSLER SAFETY RECALL P60 FAILED TWICE (NHTSA RECALL #14V-634). UNFORTUNATELY TODAY (LESS THAN 1 WEEK AFTER 2ND REPLACEMENT) THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AGAIN LEAVING THE VEHICLE ACTING ERRATICALLY WITHOUT POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES OR THE ABILITY THE SHIFT GEARS WHILE DRIVING KIDS TO SCHOOL. THANKFULLY IT WAS ON LOCAL STREETS AND ABLE TO PULL OVER SAFELY. SANSONE (CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP) HAS NOW TWICE PERFORMED THIS CHRYSLER 300 SAFETY RECALL P60 (ELECTRICAL/ALTERNATOR) REPAIR WITHOUT SUCCESS. WE HAVE OPENED A NEW CASE WITH CHRYSLER ASKING TO HAVE IT PERFORMED AT A TRUSTED REPAIR SHOP IN METUCHEN AND RECEIVE REIMBURSEMENT. THEY HAVE SENT US THE AUTHORIZATION. IF CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS CANNOT PROPERLY DIAGNOSE/REPAIR/REPLACE THE SAFETY RECALL PROBLEM/PARTS INSTALLED TWICE (LAST ONE LAST WEEK) THAT FAILED AGAIN TODAY, AT NO COST AND WITHOUT DELAY, DEALER SHOULD SEND A VEHICLE TO PICKUP THE CAR (IT CANNOT BE DRIVEN MORE THAN A FEW FEET BEFORE EVERYTHING SHUTS DOWN) AND WE SHOULD BE PERMITTED TO PROCEED WITH A REIMBURSEMENT OPTION AT A TRUSTED REPAIR SHOP. APOLOGIZE IF IT SEEMS RASH, BUT VERY UPSET OF THE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION IF IT HAD FAILED ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS.
I HAVE BEEN SMELLING GAS FOR THE LAST SIX MONTHS.O N 11-21-2015 IT WAS DROPPED OFF AT THE DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE.WHEN I PICKED IT UP ALL THE DOORS AND TRUNK WERE OPEN PRESUMABLY TO AIR OUT THE FUMES.I HAD MY SON CHECK TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS,HE FOUND FUEL LEAKING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE FUEL TANK.A LARGE AREA OF THE SOUND PROOFING UNDER THE CAR WAS SOAKED WITH GASOLINE. AFTER CHECKING SEVERAL CHRYSLER BLOGS HE FOUND OUT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON SEVERAL CHRYSLER MODELS AROUND 2011.I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED IT SHOULD BE SAFE TO DRIVE. THEY FOUND THEY FOUND THE RIGHT SIDE FUEL PUMP LEVEL UNIT LEAKING ON TOP . I BELIEVE IT IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND SHOULD BE RECALLED.

THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO OBSERVE THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED A BURNING ODOR AND SMOKE FUMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE REMEDY FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.

2011 CHRYSLER 300C. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO MOON ROOF BLEW OUT WHEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WAS CLOSED. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE MOON ROOF WAS REPAIRED IN THE PAST, DUE TO A NOISE. *JB

IN ADDITION, "VEHICLE NOT IN PARK" WAS DISPLAYED ACROSS THE MESSAGE BOARD EVEN THOUGH THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS SHIFTED INTO THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE CONTACT NEEDED TO MAKE SURE THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS FIRMLY IN PARK, BUT DID NOT DIAGNOSE THAT ANY PART NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK GOT THERE HE HAD TROUBLE TRYING TO GET THE CAR ON THE FLAT BED THE REAR TIRES OF THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN SO HE HAD TO READJUST THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES TO GET IT ON THE TRUCK.

REMOVED BACK SEAT TO FIND CONNECTOR WAS NOT FULLY INSTALLED. THEY INSTALLED CONNECTOR AND CLEAR CODES. VEHICLE CHECKS OK AT THIS TIME". THE SERVICE MGR.
