TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING AS THE ABS WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,843.
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MILES PER HOUR THE RADIO AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF AND THE BATTERY SAVER MODE MESSAGE CAME ON THE GAUGE CLUSTER. UPON MY RESEARCH I FOUND MANY WEBSITES WHERE OWNERS OF 2011 CHRYSLER 300 VEHICLES REPORTED THE SAME ISSUES. THE END RESULT WAS A BAD ALTERNATOR. THE CONSENSUS AMONG THE COMPLAINTS IS AT APPROXIMATELY 40,000 MILES THE ALTERNATOR GOES BAD. AS OF 05/30/2014 I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN DID STATE THAT THEY HAVE BEEN RECEIVING MANY CALLS REGARDING THIS ISSUE. ON THIS SITE AS OF TODAY THERE ARE ABOUT 7 COMPLAINTS WHICH WERE REPORTED RECENTLY AND WONDER IF THEIR VEHICLES ALSO HAVE THE SAME MILEAGE AS MINE. *TR
WARNING MESSAGE CAME ON STATING BATTERY SAVER MODE. MY RADIO SHUT OFF. COULD NOT BE TURNED ON. BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. HAVE NOT DRIVEN MY CAR SINCE. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER 300. THE ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLY FAILED TWICE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLY, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FIRST TIME THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER INDICATED A SYSTEM SHUT DOWN AND ALL OF THE GAUGES, WARNING LAMPS, AND SENSORS FLICKERED AS THEN FAILED TO WORK. MONTHS LATER, AFTER THE SECOND ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED, THERE WAS A TICKING NOISE THAT PROGRESSED EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND ATTEMPTED TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR MONTHS AGO BEFORE THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE WITHIN A REASONABLE TIMEFRAME. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING FOR THE OEM PART FROM THE DEALER TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR AND WAS ALSO WAITING FOR THE RECALL REPAIR FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V118000 (AIR BAGS). THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE RECALL REPAIRS WOULD BE PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. MA 10/5 UPDATED 10/17/2017*CN
THE CHECK ENGINE LITE CAME ON STAYED ON AND THE ENGINE STOPPED. AFTER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME THE ENGINE STARTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE NEAREST DEALER IN WILMINGTON, NC. THE DEALER FOUND DTC FOR INCORRECT GEAR RATIO AND REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. OLD CODE WAS #68065111AF AND THE NEW #WAS 68065111AG. SINCE THAT PERIOD OF TIME WHEN THE VEHICLE SPEED REACHES 40MPH IT SEEMS THAT THE TRANSMISSION WANTS TO DOWNSHIFT. PRIOR TO THE CODE CHANGE IT WAS VERY SMOOTH AND NO PROBLEMS. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS FOR A RESOLUTION BUT ALL THEY CAN SAY IS THERE ISN'T A PROBLEM. WHAT HAS CAUSED ME TO SUBMIT THIS PROBLEM IS THE RESPONSE I RECEIVED TODAY ON MY LATEST INQUIRY. I FEEL THAT THIS CONDITION IS A SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO YOU NOT KNOWING HOW THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO REACT AT THIS SPEED, WHAT GEAR IS IT POSSIBLY GOING TO SELECT. HAS THIS OR A SIMILAR PROBLEM BEEN SUBMITTED BEFORE. THE DRIVETRAIN IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY BUT IF CHRYSLER CAN'T PROVIDE ADEQUATE TECHNICAL RESPONSES THEN WHAT DO YOU DO. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000(ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.

THE PLASTIC DECALS IN THE CHRYSLER SIGN CAME OFF AS I WAS CLOSING THE TRUCK I WENT TO THE FRONT AND THE PLASTIC DECAL OVER THE CHRYSLER SIGN WASN'T THEIR I DON'T KNOW AT WHAT TIME IT FELL OFF. *TR
2011 CHRYSLER 300. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE SOME ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS WOULD NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY, IF AT ALL.*JS
MY CAR HAS BEEN ILLUMINATING THE "BATTERY SAVING MODE" IN THE DASH BOARD FOR THE PAST 3 MONTHS. THEY HAVE REPAIRED IT SAYING THAT I HAVE A BAD ALTERNATOR. WELL IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP AND AGAIN THE LIGHT IS ON. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO CHECK IT FOR ME TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND THAT IT WAS SAVE TO DRIVE. *TR
TODAY MY CAR DIDN'T WANT TO OPEN WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL NOR START. I WENT TO THE TRUCK BECAUSE I WAS GOING TO PUT SOME ITEMS I HAD BOUGHT AND THE TRUCK DIDN'T WANT TO OPEN EITHER I HAD TO OPEN THE CAR MANUALLY. THE BATTERY SAVE MODE ILLUMINATION WAS ON. *TR
AFTER BEING REPAIRED 3 TIMES OF THE BATTERY SAVE MODE ILLUMINATION ON THE PANEL AND THE PART REPAIRED WAS THE ALTERNATOR THE BATTERY SAVE MODE STILL CONTINUES TO COME ON AND OFF AND A WEIRD LOUD NOISE COMES FROM THE FRONT ENGINE. I TOOK IT IN TO HAVE IT CHECKED AND THEY TOLD ME TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO CHECK IT THAT DATE I ASKED IF I COULD STILL DRIVE IT AROUND AND THE SERVICE REPAIR SPECIALIST SAID THEIR WAS NO PROBLEM, I STATED THAT THE MANUAL SAID THE CAR SHOULD NOT BE OPERATED. IT IS A CONCERN BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO WORK WITH ME ON MY SCHEDULE TO TAKE THE CAR IN NOR THEY OFFER TO GIVE ME A RENTAL AND THAT IS BECAUSE I HAVE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND IT COVERS A RENTAL. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE TPMS LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND GO OFF SPORADICALLY. WE STOPPED AT A LOCAL GAS STATION TO CHECK THE PRESSURE AND ALL THE TIRES HAD ADEQUATE PRESSURE. I HAD THE TIRES BALANCED AND ROTATED TO SEE IT THAT WOULD CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND HAD THE FRONT END ALIGNED. THIS STILL DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. FINALLY FED UP, I TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL FIRESTONE TO HAVE THEM CHECK THE SYSTEM. FIRESTONE CHANGED THE SENSOR ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE. WHEN I LEFT, THE CAR WAS FINE, NO ERRORS. ON MY WAY TO WORK ON THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I RETURNED TO FIRESTONE AND THIS IS WHEN THEY SHARED WITH ME THAT THE SENSOR THAT WAS BAD WAS NOT THE ONE THAT THEY CHANGED, BUT THE ONE IN THE REAR. AS A COURTESY, THEY CHANGED THE REAR SENSOR FREE OF CHARGE. HOWEVER, THE READING ON THE CAR WAS STILL FAULTY. BY THE TIME I GOT TO WORK, THIRTY-FIVE MINUTES LATER, NEITHER OF THE SENSORS THAT FIRESTONE CHANGED WERE READING BY THE CAR. THE TIRE PRESSURE FOR BOTH TIRES READ --. I CALLED A CHRYSLER DEALER IN TACOMA TO HAVE THE CAR CHECKED OUT THERE. I DID NOT TELL THEM THAT I HAD TWO SENSORS CHANGED ALREADY BECAUSE I WANTED TO KNOW WHAT THEIR DIAGNOSIS WAS ON THE CAR. IRONICALLY, THEY SAID THAT I NEEDED FOUR TPMS SENSORS AND IT WOULD COST $900. WHEN MY HUSBAND TOLD THEM THAT I?D ALREADY HAD TWO SENSORS REPLACED, THEY CAME BACK SAYING THAT EITHER THE WORK WAS NOT DONE CORRECTLY OR THEY DID NOT RECODE THE SENSORS TO THE CAR. MY HUSBAND THEN TOOK THE CAR BACK TO FIRESTONE;FIRESTONE PUT FOUR BRAND NEW ORIGINAL CHRYSLER TPMS SENSORS ON THE CAR, FREE OF CHARGE. THE SENSORS STILL WERE NOT READING. THE CHRYSLER SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD HIM BRING THE CAR IN. THEY CLEARED THE CODES ? THE CAR WAS FINE FOR A LITTLE WHILE. BEFORE I WAS OFF WORK, THE SENSOR ON THE DRIVER FRONT WAS AGAIN READING --. THE CODE WILL CLEAR ITSELF, THEN COME BACK ON. *TR
BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH BOARD TOOK INTO THE DEALER SHOP AND UPON ARRIVAL IT SMELLED LIKE BURN. THE ADVISOR WAS A WITNESS. THE OUTCOME IS A BAD ALTERNATOR AGAIN. THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS THE CAUSE. IT WAS JUST REPLACED 3 WEEKS AGO. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH, WHEN A MESSAGE POP UP SAYING THE CAR WAS OPERATING ON RESERVE BATTERY POWER, ABS/ESC, LIGHTS CAME ON FOLLOWED BY THE BRAKE LIGHTS, CAR THEN LOST POWER, I WAS ABLE TO STEER TO A SAFE LOCATION. I BOUGHT A $200. BATTERY, THE CAR IS STILL DEAD, CALL THE DEALER, BUT HAVE NOT TOOK IT DOWN YET. *TR
ALTERNATOR CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE ENGINE WAS STOPPED\CAR PARKED WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE, THE BATTERY INDICATOR CAME ON, INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH THE CHARGING SYSTEM. I CONTINUED ON TO MY DESTINATION ABOUT 3 MILES. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR OFF, THERE WAS AN OBVIOUS SMELL OF SOMETHING BEING "HOT" AND I RAISED THE HOOD TO SEE IF I COULD SEE IT. THE ALTERNATOR WAS OBVIOUSLY VERY HOT, AND SLIGHTLY SMOKING. ASSUMING IT WAS OK NOW THAT I HAD TURNED IT OFF, I WENT INSIDE THE BUILDING TO CALL THE DEALER. LUCKILY, I CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT TRYING TO DRIVE THE CAR ANY FURTHER AND DECIDED TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED AND WENT OUTSIDE TO WAIT FOR THE TOW TRUCK. WHEN I GOT BACK TO THE CAR, THE ALTERNATOR HAD ACTUALLY CAUGHT ON FIRE AND WAS BLAZING, DROPPING SOME MELTED MATERIALS ONTO A UNDERBODY AIR DAM AND APPEARED TO BE SPREADING. I WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE BEFORE ANY MORE DAMAGE OCCURRED. IT APPEARS THAT THE ALTERNATOR IS SEVERELY DAMAGED AND THERE IS SOME WIRING DAMAGE AS WELL AS SOME DAMAGE TO THE SURROUNDING WIRING HARNESS. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THIS FIRE WOULD HAVE SPREAD TO THE ENTIRE VEHICLE IN JUST A FEW MINUTES, AS IT APPEARED TO BE SELF-PROPAGATING AND ON ITS OWN WOULD NOT HAVE GONE OUT. *TR
BACK UP CAMERA AT NIGHT TURNS BLUE,BLURRY AND RED. THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT.
AT 36,000 MILES SEATS AND EXACTLY 1 YEAR AND 11 MONTHS WITH THE CAR THE SEATS ARE BECOMING WOREN AND THEY SAY IT IS NORMAL.
WAS IN A TRIP IN SAN ANTONIO, TX TOWARDS SIX FLAGS THEIR IS HILLS WELL COMING DOWN ONE TO STOP AT THE LIGHT THE CAR DINT WANT TO MAKE A COMPLETE STOP AND THE WAS A VERY UGLY NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKES AND NO IT WAS NOT THE ANTI-BRAKES BECAUSE THAT SOUNDS DIFFERENT. TOOK IN TO NEAREST DEALER TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND THE CAR STAYED OVER NIGHT AND WAS CHECKED TWICE BY A TECHNICIAN AND THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY DID STATE THAT THEY COULD HEAR SOMETHING BUT COULDN'T FIND OUT WHAT IT WAS. 3 1/2 WEEKS LATER I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO SERVICE IN THE DEALER WERE I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW AND THEY TELL ME THAT IT IS THE ROTORS THAT NEED TO BE RECTIFIED BUT ARE NOT SURE IF THAT IS IT OR NOT. THEY ALSO HEAR SQUEAKING ON AND OFF AT DIFFERENT POINTS BUT DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON 2 BLOCKS FROM HOME. PARKED THE CAR. THE NEXT EVENING WE COULD SMELL GAS FROM OUR FRONT PORCH, TEN FEET FROM THE CAR. CURIOUS WE OPENED THE CAR AND THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT WAS PUNGENT FROM THE ODOR OF GAS. CALLED AAA AND TOWED TO LOCAL CAR REPAIR. PLASTIC CAP ON TOP OF THE FUEL TANK LOCATED BELOW REAR PASSENGER SEAT FAILED, ACCESS TO 2ND FUEL PUMP. THE PLASIC FAILURE ALLOWED GAS LEAK. THE REPAIR SHOP INDICATED THE PLASTIC CAP APPEARED DETERIORATED FROM FUEL. WE HAD THE PUMP AND CAP REPLACED. VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE MATERIAL IN THE CAP, AND THE DANGER IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT FOR CONSEQUENTIAL GAS LEAK.
I WAS DRIVING A CHRYSLER 300 .I ATTEMPTED TO CHANGE LANES TO MY RIGHT IN FRONT OF BUS. I DID NOT CLEAR IT AND WAS SPUN DOWN SLOPED HILL I WENT THROUGH IRON FENCE JUMPED FOUR FOOT RETAINER WALL AND HIT A STORAGE BUILDING. MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FRONT SEAT AIR BAG PROBLEMS RECALL NOTICE. *SMD WHEN THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER, TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE RECALL, HE WAS INFORMED CHRYSLER WAS NOT RELEASING THE PARTS, FOR UNKNOWN REASONS. THE CONSUMER STATED THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO HIM RECEIVING, THE RECALL NOTICE.

THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER IN ORDER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED BUT THEY STATED THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED TWO WEEKS LATER AND STATED THEY DID NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WOULD RECEIVE THE PARTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWN A 2011 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT RECEIVED THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 13V118000(AIR BAGS). THE RECALL WAS SCHEDULED TO BEGAN ON APRIL 22, 2013. THE REMEDY PART CONTINUED TO REMAIN UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE AN EXPECTED DATE FOR THE PARTS. THERE ARE NO FAILURES AT THIS TIME. THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE REGARDING AN ALTERNATOR ISSUE IN NOVEMBER 2014, AND SHE HASN'T HEARD ANYTHING SINCE. ALSO, SHE EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM WITH THE KEY FOB. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED THREE TIMES. HOWEVER, SHE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS. UPDATED 03/04/15. *JB

THEY STATE THAT THE PARTS REQUIRED TO REPAIR VEHICLE ARE NOT AVAILABLE FROM CHRYSLER ; THEY TAKE MY PHONE NUMBER AND PUT ME ON A WAITING LIST. NO FURTHER CONTACT FROM THEM SINCE APRIL. *TR
HAS HAD A RECALL SAYING IT CAN CAUSE FIRE IF NOT REPLACE; TOOK IN FOR REPAIR. TIRE GAUGE IS ALWAYS WRONG SHORT FUSE ON ALL LIGHTERS AND COMPONENTS CHECK ENGINE WENT ON AND KNOW THEY ARE TELLING ME THEY NEED TO REPLACE A MALFUNCTIONING CYLINDER HEAD ON A 3.6-LITER PENTASTAR V6 ENGINE.. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ON A NON ILLUMINATED ROAD THE HEADLIGHT BEAM EXTENDS ABOUT 12 THEN ANGLES TO RIGHT AND LEFT. WHEN TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT THERE IS NO ILLUMINATION TO RIGHT OR LEFT WHEN TURNING. MAKING THE TURN IS LIKE DRIVING INTO A BLACK HOLE. THERE COULD BE A PERSON OR IMPEDIMENT IN THE WAY AND IT CANNOT BE DETECTED. A SOLUTION IS FOR THE HEADLIGHT BEAM TO ANGLE TO RIGHT AND LEFT MUCH CLOSER TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR. I HAVE DISCUSSED THIS WITH CHRYSLER CASE # [XXX] AND DEACONS CHRYSLER, MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO. THE VEHICLE THEN BEGAN TO DECELERATE INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE ALTERNATOR HAD SEIZED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

SHIFTER WAS SQUEAKY SOUNDED LIKE AN OLD CAR EVERY TIME YOU SHIFTED TO A DIFFERENT POSITION. TOOK IN TO THE DEALER SERVICES CENTER AND WHILE THEY WERE FIXING OTHER ISSUES THEY SAID IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED SO THEY DID. NOW 6,000 LATER IT SOUNDS THE SAME AND WHEN I TOOK IT IN ONES AGAIN FOR OTHER ISSUES THEY SAID IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACES. APPARENTLY THE SHIFTER IS DEFECTIVE. MY CAR HAS ONLY 36,000 AND HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 7 TIMES AND ALL DIFFERENT ISSUES.
