I was involved in a hit and run on March 2,2026 and the airbags did not deploy at all. My car was taken to ray lathem dealership when there was a recall pertaining to the airbags back in 2019. I was told everything was corrected. Now fast forward to March 2,2026 no airbags deployed at all from the impact of crash. That was the first thing the police and ambulance asked and saw. Myself and My fiancee both were taken to the hospital.

Box 21-8004 Auburn Hills, MI 48321-8004 RE: FORMAL COMPLAINT – Safety Defect (Rearview Camera Failure) Vehicle 1: 2012 Chrysler 300S (VIN: [XXX] ) Vehicle 2: 2018 Chrysler 300S (VIN: [XXX] ) To the Chrysler Customer Care Team: I am a loyal, multi-vehicle Chrysler owner currently residing in San Diego County. I am writing to formally report a persistent and dangerous safety defect affecting both of my Chrysler 300S vehicles. Description of Defect: In both vehicles, the factory-installed backup camera has failed completely. When the vehicles are shifted into reverse, the infotainment screen remains blank or black. This failure significantly reduces rearward visibility, creating a severe safety risk for pedestrians and property, especially given the known blind spots of the 300S model. Legal and Safety Context: As you are aware, Chrysler has issued multiple recent recalls (including Recall 24V-436) regarding rearview camera software failures. Furthermore, for the 2018 model, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 111 mandates a functional rear visibility system. The identical failure across two different model years suggests a fundamental defect in the camera hardware or wiring harnesses used in this vehicle line. Requested Resolution: As a long-term supporter of the Chrysler brand, I am requesting a Goodwill Repair for both vehicles. I ask that Chrysler authorize a local authorized dealer in San Diego (Chula Vista/National City) to inspect and repair these camera systems at no cost to me. Please respond to this request in writing within 10 business days. I have also opened a report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to document these failures. The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the temperature gauge had independently increased levels. The contact managed to pull over to the shoulder of the road and was able to restart the vehicle as a temporary repair. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, white smoke had leaked through the air vent into the interior cabin before independently shifting the gear into neutral. In addition, a fire had started from under the hood of the vehicle. No warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that a couple of nearby pedestrians attempted to extinguish the fire, but were unsuccessful due to the size of the fire. The contact had COPD, which was impacted during the failure, and medical attention was sought for a heart-related issue. The fire department arrived on the scene to extinguish the fire. A report was filed; however, it was unclear if either the local Fire department or Police department had filed the report. The vehicle was towed to a local tow lot, where it remained and was declared a total loss. The local dealer was contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.
The contact owned a 2012 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, a vehicle abruptly merged in front, causing the contact to T-bone the vehicle. The driver's side air bags did not fully deploy. The front passenger side air bag deployed, but there was no occupant. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The vehicle was condemned as a total loss. The contact was transported to the local medical center. The contact sustained injuries to the left shoulder and additional bruises. In addition, the contact received a CT scan due to the contact's head hitting the front windshield. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 195,000.
My car threw itself in neutral twice in the highway going home.
The Steering Wheel Lock up on me while Driving on the interstate without any warning. I could have been kill. I panic.
I lost all power to my car randomly, i replaced my alternator, battery, and pcm as well as the pigtail harness for my alternator. the car has no power inside at all besides my taillights and brake lights stay on. i keep blowing fuses left and right the fuses that keep blowing are - asd feed #1, trans/shifter, hvac module/ cluster, amplifier, radio screen - this is a major issue that needs to be recalled especially with everything else electrical that was already recalled. thanks for your time
The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler 300. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, there was a burning odor inside the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over on the side of the road and examined under the hood of the vehicle and noticed there was smoke coming from the alternator. After the vehicle cooled down, the contact was able to drive the vehicle back to the residence. The dealer was contact and stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V435000 (Electrical System) and that the contact had to pay for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 158,000.
this car was crashed June 10 2023, owner went to hospital and car was towed and took to an auto pound .After 24 hours they told us a private company tolled it or stole it .we reported it stolen and payed a report and that's how I got the info of an independent mechanic trying to fix it. im trying to find my car and the report told me you guys have it.
goes into 4th gear and will not shift up or down DTC P1DD2 gas leaking from sending unit area and fan wont kick on untilk 230F also has electrical problems

The air bags were replaced in my vehicle due to a recall. Now my air bag light is on and the buttons and horn do not work. The airbag clock spring is broken. The air bags were replaced by the dealership. Should the clock spring be replaced covered due to this issue?
The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, there was an abnormal burning odor detected. The contact stated she noticed oil on the garage floor. Upon opening the hood, she noticed there was oil over the engine compartment. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that there was oil leaking from the cooler adapter. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no additional assistance. An independent mechanic informed the contact that antifreeze and oil had entered the engine. The failure mileage was approximately 151,000.
Car accelerated on its own and refused to stop when brakes were applied. This occurrence jeopardized my safety and the safety of others on the road. Once I realized that no one was behind me I had to slam the car into neutral for it to stop moving abruptly so I wouldn't run into the the car in front of me, but the engine kept revving up high. I then turned it off. Which left me in a dangerous position and blocking traffic.
Esc off light comes on and transmission does not shift has loss of power gets extremely bad gas mileage. Whole engine shakes and bucks as if misfiring., cruise control nor sport mode engage.
There is a hairline crack on top of the Fuel Pump Plastic Housing cause leak on top of the housing. Fuel Vapor in AC present as well as inside and outside the car. This could be a potential fire hazard and I have read many forums in which many other owners of the same make and model of the car has.
When driving down the street alternator dies and randomly goes out while driving . Have had this problem multiple times
Was on my way home from work and car completely lost power as I was preceding to go after stopping at a stop sign. I was LITERALLY in the middle of the road. Car wouldn't crank AT ALL. Engine started OVERHEATING causing smoke to disburse from engine. NO WARNING LIGHTS before this occurred. A big truck was coming down the road and I had to exist the vehicle. Luckily a car wasn't in the other lane so the truck went on the other side of the road. I was terrified! I called 911 to get a deputy dispatch to direct traffic around my car to avoid mutiple COLLISION. I had to have my vehicle towed. I never want another Chrysler again these cars are UNSAFE. I could have died what if my child was in the car?! I took my car to a mechanic to put on computer scanner and it gave off SEVEN codes ALL due to ELECTRICAL ISSUES! CAR IS APPARENTLY STUCK IN LIMP MODE IDK I'M SO CONFUSED AND DISAPPOINTED. I reported the issue to Chrysler recall line and they did NOTHING.
The air bag light comes on n off with a passenger in the seat and also the shifter sometimes doesn’t shift into gear I have to unplug battery for 10 minutes to reset system that comes to the electrical situation
My vehicle stalls when placed from reverse to drive and the check engine light blinks and goes to Eco mode which makes the car shake. I’ve had a tuneup, oil change, brakes, O2 sensor and spark plugs replaced and the issues still exist. The car also will initiate skid control without warning or pressing the button which slows the car down and causes the engine to rev above 3-6rpm

The contact shifted the vehicle into park(P) and restarted the vehicle however, the engine revved but the vehicle failed to move forward. The vehicle was towed the residence. The following day the vehicle started and drove as designed; however, the vehicle would not reverse. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown
recall notice for passenger air bag was sent three years ago. Vehicle was brought to dealership and held for a week to replace air bag. Vehicle was returned with air bag NOT replaced. I was told to wait for a call when they receive more air bags and they would schedule for replacement. As of today, three years later, I am being told the air bags are still not available for purchase or replacement under recall.
The cruise control stopped working.

Car will shut off in mid drive with no notice. I took it to the dealership multiple times and spent over $3,000 in repairs they still haven’t fixed the problem. I’m scared I will get into a accident or worse because this problem Continuously happens it has happened on the highway it happens on the street. I don’t know what else to do the dealership does not know what the problem is.

Gas smell coming from the tank or a fuel pump when gas is full. Hairline crack in fuel pump/tank causing horrible smell inside car cabin and exterior.
Airbag light comes back on after recall repair was made in 2019, passenger airbag light illuminates consistent at start of engine.
THE AC HAS BEEN REPAIR ALREADY FOR THROWING HOT AIR ON ONE SIDE AND COLD ON THE OTHER THIS WAS DONE THROUGH THE DEALER NOW THE AC IS STARTING TO DO IT AGAIN AS WELL AS WHISTLING EVERY THING FROM REPAIRS HAVE BEEN DONE BY DEALER THROUGH WARRANTY

IN 2018, THE CRUISE CONTROL ON MY 2012 CHRYSLER 300 LIMITED WAS ACTING INTERMITTENT. I WOULD PRESS THE BUTTON IT WOULD WORK AND SOMETIMES NOT. I BROUGHT IT IN TO MY HEMET CA. CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE CC SWITCH. NOW, 2 YRS. LATTER IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN...I TRIED IT A FEW TIMES WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY/IN-CITY AND IT DIDN'T WORK. LATER ON OUR WAY HOME, I TRIED IT AGAIN AND IT WORKED. I'M STILL UNDER WARRANTY, BUT IT COSTS ME $100 EVERY TIME I BRING THE CAR IN FOR A WARRANTY REPAIR; HOPEFULLY WHEN I BRING IT IN THIS TIME, FOR THE SAME PROBLEM THAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO FIX, THEY WON'T CHARGE ME...R/JOHN...

WHILE DRIVING MY CAR DURING A STOPLIGHT IT SUDDENLY STALLED AND DIED. MY GEAR WAS STILL IN DRIVE. I TRIED TO RESTART MY CAR BUT IT WASNT ABLE TO START IT JUS KEPT MAKING A CLICKING SOUND LIKE IT WAS TRYING TO START BUT COULDNT AND LAST FOR 30 SECS. I WASNT ABLE TO PUT THE GEAR INTO NEUTRAL. SO IN WAS STALLED OK THE ROAD. AFTER TRYING TO ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. I AM VERY FRUSTRATED BECAUSE I JUST GOT MY CAR BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP AFTER THEM REPLACING MY WATER PUMP AND THERMOSTAT TWICE 1 YEAR APART. NOW IT'S BACK AT THE SHOP AND I HAVE TO PAY 140 TO HAVE THEM DIAGNOSE IT AFTER SPENDING 1200. I CHECKED MY WARRANTY AND SERVICE CONTRACT AND THEY ALL EXPIRED.
I RECENTLY RAN INTO SOME MECHANICAL ISSUES THAT HAVE CONCERNED ME. I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE OCTOBER 9TH 2019 ON THE HIGHWAY WITH AN AVERAGE SPEED OF 70MPH 'SPEED LIMIT' AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING THE VEHICLE CUT OFF WHILE STILL IN MOTION. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR ANY INDICATION THAT I WAS HAVING ANY ISSUES MECHANICALLY. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER SAFELY AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. AFTER 15-20 MINUTES ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND A FEW PHONE CALLS TO A TOWING COMPANY I TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. I CONTACTED THE NEAREST DEALER TO ME 'ROCKY MOUNT CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT, LOCATED AT 1340 S WESLEYAN BLVD, ROCKY MOUNT, NC 27803 AT PHONE NUMBER 252-977-1340'. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER MY VEHICLE HAD ALREADY HAD THE RECALL FOR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: ALTERNATOR/GENERATOR/REGULATOR COMPLETED AND THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY PROBLEMS. THIS WAS EVEN AFTER STATING THE ISSUE WHICH I CAUSED ME TO BE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. BELIEVING THE RECALL ACTUALLY FIXED THE PROBLEM THE FIRST TIME THEN WHY AM I NOW/STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS LISTED WITH THE RECALL, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: ALTERNATOR/GENERATOR/REGULATOR.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE ACCELERATING AT 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL (ETC) WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO WAIT THIRTY MINUTES BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AND RESUME NORMAL DRIVING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE THERMOSTAT WAS REPLACED, BUT NO ERROR CODES COULD BE FOUND REGARDING THE ETC. DESPITE THE THERMOSTAT REPLACEMENT, THE FAILURES PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000.
I WAS TRAVELING DOWN A BUSY STREET IN ATLANTA. I CAME TO A STOP SIGN AND WHEN I TRIED TO CONTINUE THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. THE ENGINE WAS REEVING UP HIGH BUT THE CAR WAS NOT MOVING. IT ALSO WOULD NOT LET ME PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND CONTINUE ON MY TRIP. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES.
MY CAR STARTED SMOKING WITH BLACK SMOKE. THE CAR STARTED OVERHEATING. WE OPENED UP THE HOOD AND THE WATER PUMP LOOKED LIKE IT EXPLODED BECAUSE THE ANTIFREEZE WAS EVERYWHERE. I TOOK MY CAR IN TWICE 1 YEAR APART FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND WAS REPLACED WITH AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I'M WONDERING IF THE USE OF AFTERMARKET IS BREAKING MY CAR APART. NOW I'M HAVING A ENGINE ISSUE.
BACK UP CAMERA IMAGE IS REVERSED. WHEN BACKING UP WHAT IS ON MY RIGHT SHOWS UP AS BEING ON MY LEFT .
WHILE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY HIGHWAY MY CAR BEGAN TO HAVE ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE LIGHTS BLINKING AND DISPLAY GOING IN AND OUT BEFORE THE VEHICLE CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I HAD THREE CHILDREN ALL UNDER THE AGE OF FIVE.AFTER HAVING IT TOWED AND INSPECTED A REFURBISHED ALTERNATOR WAS PUT IN DUE TO A RECALL (NEW ONES WERE ON BACK ORDER). LAST WEEK MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I COULDN'T MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALI. I CALLED THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO SEND ASSISTANCE TO NO AVAIL. I REPLACED THE POWER STEERING FUSE THE NEXT DAY AND AFTER DROPPING MY SON OFF TO SCHOOL, IT WENT OUT AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. LUCKILY, I HAD PURCHASED EXTRA FUSES IN THE EVENT IT WENT OUT AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT DID THE WORK BEFORE, WHERE THEY TOLD ME THE ONLY THING THAT WOULD FIX THAT PROBLEM WOULD BE TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING PUMP BECAUSE ITS ELECTRICAL. HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT AFFECT YOUR ABILITY TO OPERATE THE CAR WHILE YOU ARE OPERATING IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND FRIGHTENING ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE CHILDREN ABOARD.
I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A GLASS REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID THAT THE WINDSHIELD GLASS WAS SEPARATING.
ENGINE FIRST STARTED MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE THEN AFTER ABOUT TWO WEEKS , ENGINE MADE A LOUD CRACKING NOISE , THEN A PRESENTENCE CONSTANCE KNOCK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON HAD THE CODE CHECKED CAME UP AS A MISFIRE ON THE #1 CYLINDER. HAD A TUNE UP DONE KNOCK GOT WORSE . WAS INFORMED BY A MECHANIC OF THE POSSIBILITY OF A TIMING CHAIN / CAMSHAFT PROBLEM CALLED CHRYSLER WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL P01 DOESN'T APPLY TO MY VIN , MY VEHICLE IS A CANADIAN MANUFACTURED CAR
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED (70MPH), THE OIL PRESSURE SUDDENLY DROPPED FROM A NORMAL 55+PSI TO ABOUT 15PSI AND THE ENGINE STARTED TO VIBRATE BAD AND RUN ERADICALLY. SLOWING DOWN AND STOPPING, IT FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL MAKING IT MUCH, MUCH HARDER TO STEER THE VEHICLE AND SLOW DOWN DUE TO THE LACK OF VACUUM CREATED BY THE ENGINE TO ASSIST WITH THE POWER BRAKES AND RPM'S NEEDED TO PROVIDE POWER STEERING ASSIST. OIL PRESSURE DROPPED TO ABOUT 5PSI AT IDLE. NO KNOCKING SOUND FROM THE LOWER END OF THE ENGINE, JUST VALVETRAIN TAPPING/TICKING. THIS VEHICLE NEEDS TOWED. THIS IS A LOW MILEAGE VEHICLE-WELL UNDER 100K MILES AND DOCUMENTED CARE. THERE ARE MANY, MANY HEMI EQUIPPED VEHICLES ON THE ROAD AND AT DEALERSHIPS THAT HAVE THESE RELATED TIMING CHAINS BREAKING / TIMING CHAIN TENSIONERS BREAKING AND FAILING, CAMSHAFT AND LIFTERS GRINDING THEMSELVES AWAY BUT, VERY FEW ARE REPORTED AS EITHER TSB'S OR RECALLS. THIS IS POTENTIALLY A VERY DEADLY AND DANGEROUS ISSUE AND SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN LIGHTLY!!! EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!!

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF AND CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF A SECOND VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECENTLY RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND COURTESY DODGE (440 28TH ST SE, GRAND RAPIDS, MI) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
