ENGINE CRADLE SEVERELY RUSTED AND PERFORATED, CAUSING FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS. A REPLACEMENT CRADLE IS NEEDED AS ENGINE MAY DROP..
I WAS DRIVING AND MY CHILDREN SMELLED SMOKE. I PULLED OVER AND OPENED THE HOOD AND SAW A FIRE. A STRANGER STOPPED AND TRIED PUTTING IT OUT WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER BUT IT CAUGHT ON SO QUICKLY THAT THERE WAS NO CHANCE. I SUFFERED A COMPLETE LOSS SINCE THE ENTIRE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES.
TAKATA RECALL VEHICLE WILL NOT STAY FIRED UP AS SOON AS SOON AS THROTTLE IS RELASED CAR DIES IMMEDIATELY, SOMETIMES NOT STARTING BACK UP FOR 15-40 MINUTES, REPLACED IDLE AIR CONTROL, REPLACED THROTTLE POSTION SENSOR, REPLACED ALL SPARK PLUGS, RAN A FUEL CLEANER, AND REPLACED ALTERNATOR, CAR STILL WILL NOT STAY TURNED OVER AND STILL WILL NNOT IDLE, IF THROTTLE AND RPM DROP CAR WIL DIE IN TRAFFIC SITTING IN DRIVE WAY HASN'T MATTERD WHERE HAPPENS EVERYWHERE
DRIVING AFTER 45 MINUTES TO 1 HR STOP FOR SHORT BREAK (APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES). SHUT CAR OFF THEN UPON RETURNING TO CAR THE CAR WON'T START. TRIES TOO OR HESITATES. CALL TRIPLE AAA THEY HOOK IT UP TO COMPUTER CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. STARTER GOOD, ALTERNATOR GOOD, BATTERY GOOD. STILL WON'T START. HOOK TO JUMP PACK MIGHT START. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES IN 2 WEEKS. GARAGE CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG EITHER. ONCE STARTED FINISH DRIVING ANOTHER 1/2 HOUR SHUT VECHICLE OFF FOR EITHER 6 HOURS OR MORE; STARTS FINE AS LONG AS I DON'T STOP ANYWHERE. HELP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE SUBFRAME WAS BADLY RUSTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 133,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN REVERSE, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SEIZED. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE ACCELERATED BACKWARDS AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,806.
I TOOK CAR IN FOR SOME EXHAUST WORK AND THE MANAGER TOOK ME TO HAVE A LOOK UNDER THE CAR AND SHOWED ME THE ENTIRE SUBFRAME WAS ROTTED TO THE POINT THAT MY CARS ENGINE COULD FALL OUT AT ANY TIME. I HAVE 4 CHILDREN! I SEE CHRYSLER IS BEING SUED OVER THIS. I CONTACTED THEM AND THEY REFUSE TO HELP ME!?

WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO HAVE THE BRAKES REPAIRED, THE TECHNICIAN NOTICED THAT THE UNDERCARRIAGE WAS SEVERELY CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,608.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, THE TECHNICIAN OBSERVED THAT THE SUBFRAME WAS FRACTURED AND DETERIORATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE SUBFRAME WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
MY CAR STARTED MAKING LOUD NOISES WHEN I HIT A POT HOLE. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC HE SAID THE FRAME IS RUSTING TROUGH.
WON'T LET ME PUMP GAS IN WITH OUT IT CONSTANTLY CLICKING OFF, WHEN GAS GAGE HITS HALF IT DROPS WITH IN SECONDS. TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ENGINE LIGHT LOW AND HIGH TIRE PRESSURE STAYS ON BUT NOTHING SHOWS ON TESTER. FRONT END DOES A LOT OF POPPING, AND CLANKING WHILE DRIVING EVEN WHILE TURNING AND STOPPING.
ENGINE CRADLE RUSTED TO THE POINT IT WILL NOT PASS WV INSPECTION AND IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A PROGRESSING FAILURE IN WHICH THE VEHICLE WAS RANDOMLY STALLING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE BUT, AS THE FAILURE CONTINUED, IT TOOK LONGER THAN NORMAL TO GET THE VEHICLE TO RESTART. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD START DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A MANUFACTURER RECALL TO ADDRESS THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE COOLING SYSTEM FOR THE CAR DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY. AFTER A STEADY IDLE OF ABOUT 5 MINUTES, THE CAR WILL BEGIN TO GET HOT AND THE FANS WILL KICK ON. TWO MINUTES LATER IT WILL DO IT AGAIN. THE SYSTEM IT SELF SEEMS OK, BUT THE FAN IS CONSTANTLY ON AND OFF. THE MOTOR GET S SO HOT THAT THE HOOD ON MY CAR IS STARTING TO TURN. NEXT IS THE AIRBAGS. THE AIRBAG LIGHT FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE IS ALWAYS ON INDICATING A FAILURE. THE BAG HAS NEVER BEEN DEPLOYED? NOW THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THE TOP END OF THE MOTOR. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS KEEPS COMING ON. KEEPS SAYING MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 4. EVERYTHING HAS BEEN REPLACED AND I STILL GET THIS CODE? MY VEHICLE GETS IT REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND MY MECHANIC SAID MY CAR SHOULD NOT HAVING THESE PROBLEMS.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A USED 2004 PACIFICA. WHILE GETTING THE OIL CHANGED FOR THE FIRST TIME I WAS INFORMED BY THE TECHNICIAN THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE / SUB-FRAME WAS SHOWING SEVERE CORROSION. I SPOKE TO CHRYSLER THE NEXT DAY AND WAS INFORMED THAT EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, AND CHRYSLER DID ISSUE A CONSUMER SATISFACTION BULLETIN AND EXTEND THE WARRANTY UP TO 150000 MILES ON THIS ITEM THAT MY VEHICLE WAS OUTSIDE THAT AND THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY REPAIR. EVEN THOUGH THE PREVIOUS OWNER DID NOT HAVE THE WORK COMPLETED UNDER THE WARRANTY EXTENSION.
ENGINE CRADLE RUSTED OUT!! THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED!! ITS PRETTY BAD WHEN THE FRAME AND ROCKERS RUST OUT AND THE FACTORY EXHAUST IS STILL ON THE CAR!

THE TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED THAT THE VEHICLE NOT BE DRIVEN UNTIL THE FRAME WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURED WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

ENGINE CRADLE ROT, UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO POSSIBLE ENGINE DROPPING OUT OF VEHICLE.
FRAME IS RUSTING UNDER THE ENGINE AND SERVICE BAY AT TIRE DEALER SAID IT WAS UNSAFE.
TOOK IN PACIFICA FOR GENERAL MAINTENANCE. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT MY FRAME OR CRADLE WAS SEVERELY CORRODED. CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY WILL DO FOR ME. IT IS A 2800.00 REPAIR THROUGH THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT IS TOO DANGEROUS TO BE ON THE ROAD AND CHRYSLER WILL ACKNOWLEDGE NOTHING! I HAVE PHOTO'S OF CORROSION FROM DEALERSHIP!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE HAD EXCESSIVE RUST AND FRACTURES AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,300.
THE FRONT SUBFRAME KNOWN AS THE "ENGINE CRADLE" IS SEVERELY RUSTING OUT. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BY CHRYSLER ON 2004-2005 PACIFICAS. THERE WAS AN INADEQUATE COATING OF THE METAL WHICH LEADS TO PREMATURE RUSTING. IN 2010 CHRYSLER ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS, BUT ONLY FOR CARS BUILT IN A SIX WEEK PERIOD IN 2004. THIS ONLY COVERED A SMALL FRACTION ON THE CARS AFFECTED. CHRYSLER NEVER SENT INFORMATION TO OWNERS WARNING OF THIS OR OFFERING SUGGESTIONS ON MAINTENANCE OF THIS ISSUE. AS A RESULT, THOUSANDS OF PACIFICA OWNERS LIKE MYSELF ARE LEFT WITH CARS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND UNABLE TO SELL BECAUSE OF THE SEVERITY OF THE ISSUE. THE RESPONSE FROM CHRYSLER (FAC) WHEN YOU CONTACT THEM IS "SORRY, IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY".

WHY IS THE AUTOMOTIVE MAKERS ALLOWED TO PUT OUT CAR WITH HEADLIGHT LENSES THAT CLOUD UP AFTER 6-7 YEARS. THIS REDUCES VISABILITY AND COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT.
ENGINE CRADLE IS RUSTED I CALLED CHRYSLER THEY SAID TOO BAD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. THIS CAR WILL NOT PASS PA. INSPECTION WITH THIS RUST ISSUE IT IS UN SAFE TO DRIVE.
I HAVE A 2004 PACIFICA TOURING EDITION...PASSENGER SIDE LOWER CONTROL, HUB, SWAY BAR ROTTED OUT. WENT TO PICK UP PARTS AND EVERY CAR I CAME ACROSS HAD THE SAME ISSUE IN THE SAME PLACE. HOW CAN FIVE DIFFERENT CARS DRIVEN BY FIVE DIFFERENT PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.....TWO WORDS...CRAPPY MATERIALS. CHRYSLER SHOULD PROCEED WITH A RECALL ON THE LOWER PASSENGER SIDE CONTROL ARM FOR THESE VEHICLES, THEY ARE ROLLING DEATH TRAPS.
UPON TAKING MY VEHICLE TO BE SERVICED AFTER PURCHASE 1 DAY AGO, THE MECHANIC DISCOVERED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED OUT ON THE RIGHT SIDE. THIS IS THE ONLY RUST ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I AM CURRENTLY IN DISCUSSIONS WITH THE DEALER TO REMEDY THIS ISSUE, BUT HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A FREQUENT PROBLEM.
TODAY I WENT TO GET A STATE INSPECTION AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP SINCE I PURCHASED IN THE VEHICLE IN 2007, WENT TO PICK UP CAR AND IT FAILED DUE TO THE SUSPENSION. MECHANIC EXPLAINED THAT THE SUB FRAMED HAD ROTTED OUT AND IT WOULD COST $3500 TO REPAIR. SAID IT WOULD BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE CAR DUE TO THAT PART IS WHAT HOLDS THE ENGINE UP IN THE CAR. LOOKS AS IF ITS GOING TO FALL STRAIGHT TO THE GROUND. HOWEVER CHRYSLER HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THIS PART SO IT WOULD BE IN MY BEST INTEREST TO CALL THEM. 9/12 CALLED THE 800 247 9753 RECALL # NO HELP SAID NO RECALLS ON MY RECALLS. GAVE ANOTHER # 800 992 1997 STILL ON HOLD.
AFTER TAKING MY PACIFICA IN FOR SERVICE I WAS NOTIFIED BY THE MECHANIC THAT MY ENGINE CRADLE HAS LARGE RUST HOLES IN IT. I CALLED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER AT CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD THAT YES THEY HAD AN ISSUE WITH THIS RUSTING CRADLE BUT ONLY A VERY NARROW RANGE OF VEHICLES WERE AFFECTED. AND MY MFR DATE FELL OUTSIDE THAT DATE RANGE. HOW CAN I HAVE THE EXACT ISSUE THAT THEY ADMIT TO BUT REFUSE TO MAKE THE REPAIRS BECAUSE THEY CREATED AN ARBITRARY DATE RANGE. I ALSO CANNOT BELIEVE THAT SO MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN LODGED AND WE ARE BEING IGNORED ! NBC NEWS IN CHICAGO DID AN INVESTIGATIVE PIECE ON THIS ISSUE IN 2014 AND IT IS STILL A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE. I REFUSE TO SCRAP MY MINT CONDITION PACIFICA ! I HAD HEARD OF A CLASS ACTION SUIT IN OHIO AND WILL LOOK INTO THAT.

THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DECLINED TO OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO SALVAGE AND SELL THE USABLE PARTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,000.
I TOOK MY CAR IN AN OIL CHANGE ON 08-28-15 AND THE AUTO MECHANIC CALLED TO TELL ME HOW UNSAFE MY CAR IS -THE SUBFRAME IS RUSTING AND FALLING APART! TOTALLY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THAT IT SHOULD BE FIXED ASAP. THE COST OF THIS REPAIR IS $4000 -WELL ABOVE THE CAR'S WORTH. THERE WAS RECALL, BUT ONLY FOR A CERTAIN NUMBER OF VEHICLES -MY VIN NOT INCLUDED. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR CHRYSLER AND YET THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS UNSAFE CONDITION. MY ENGINE CAN FALL OUT AS I AM DRIVING AROUND MY FAMILY! HELP!! WHAT IS MY RECOURSE?
WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION SAYS VAPOR LEAK, HAS REPLACED GAS CAP TWICE, NOT ABLE TO FIND LEAK. ALSO THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS REALLY HARD , BROKEN MOTOR MOUNT
I PUT MY 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IN THE SHOP ON 8/24/2015 FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND INSPECTION AND TO MY SURPRISE WAS TOLD THE "SUBFRAME IS ROTTING OUT". MY MECHANIC STATED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE PACIFICA. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. APPARENTLY, CHRYSLER PROVIDED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR A VERY SMALL NUMBER OF CARS EFFECTED BY THIS SAFETY HAZARD. CHRYSLER IS NOT TAKING THIS DEFECT SERIOUSLY; SHOULD PROVIDE CORRECTIVE ACTION BEFORE FATALITIES OCCUR.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE HOME FROM WORK ON 8/21/2015, I HEARD A LOUD NOISE UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL AND WHEN I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR TODAY (8/22//2015), I NOTICED THAT SOMETHING WAS HANGING DOWN UNDER THE ENGINE. AFTER INTERNET RESEARCH, I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FROM CUSTOMERS WHO INDICATED THAT CHRYSLER ADMITTED TO NOT PUTTING ENOUGH GREASE/LUBE IN THE ENGINE CRADLE WHICH COULD LEAD TO CORROSION AND RUST. IF THIS THE CASE - I BELIEVE THAT MY ENGINE CRADLE HAVE BROKEN AND NOW MY ENGINE IS IN DANGER OF FALLING OUT AND I DON'T WANT TO INJURE AND/OR KILL ANYONE ELSE OR MYSELF IF I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND I AM NOT IN A POSITION TO ABSORB ANY COST THAT WOULD BE NECESSARY TO FIX AND/OR REPAIR THIS DEFECTIVE PART ON THE 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. PLEASE HEALP
TOOK OUR 2004 PACIFICA IN TODAY FOR AN ALIGNMENT TO FIX THE SHAKING WHEN THE CAR IS DRIVEN ON THE HIGHWAY AND WAS TOLD THAT AN ALIGNMENT WOULD BE A WASTE OF MONEY DUE TO THE RUSTED OUT FRAME UNDER THE CAR. HADN'T HEARD A SINGLE WORD ABOUT THIS ISSUE UNTIL TODAY. WE'VE HAD THIS CAR SINCE 2005, BOUGHT WITH 12, 000 MILES ON IT AND NOW IT HAS 85, 000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THERE WAS A NOISE EMERGING FROM THE ENGINE AREA. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A HOLE ON THE ENGINE CRADLE CAUSED BY RUST. THE ENTIRE ENGINE FRAME WAS RUSTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. UPDATED 09/10/15*LJ *CN
I HAVE AN 04 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WITH A SEVERELY RUSTED ENGINE CRADLE. I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC AT GOODYEAR WHILE TRYING TO GET AN ALIGNMENT THAT MY CRADLE WAS TOO RUSTED TO DO THE ALIGNMENT. HE THEN SAID THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH CHRYSLER PACIFICAS. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND A LETTER THAT WAS ISSUED TO OWNERS OF PACIFICAS REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. HOWEVER, I DID NOT RECEIVE THE LETTER. SO I CALLED THE CHRYSLER COMPLAINT LINE AND SPOKE WITH SOMEONE WHO GAVE ME A CASE # AND TOLD ME I WOULD NEED TO HAVE THE ISSUE VERIFIED BY A CHRYSLER DEALER AND THEN THEY WOULD LOOK INTO PAYING FOR THE REPAIR. I TOOK IT TO MY DEALER WHO VERIFIED THE REPAIR AND TOOK SEVERAL PICTURES. I HAD NOT HEARD ANY THING BACK SO I CALLED BACK TO THE COMPLAINT LINE ABOUT MY CASE#. AT THAT TIME I SPOKE WITH ANOTHER CSR WHO INFORMED ME THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT ONE OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES . WHEN QUESTIONED WHY NOT AND WHICH VEHICLES WERE AFFECTED SHE SAID SHE DID NOT KNOW. BUT, SAID IT DEFINATELY WAS NOT MINE. I WAS EXTREMELY UPSET AS I HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY TOLD IF THE ISSUE WAS A RUSTED CRADLE AND VERIFIED BY A CHRYSLER DEALER I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET ASSISTANCE, HOPEFULLY ON THE ENTIRE REPAIR. I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO NOW AS THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR $5000 - $6000. THE LADY SAID WELL YOU NEED TO PUT MONEY INTO A VEHICLE THAT IS 10 YEARS OLD. I SAID I HAVE. I HAVE HAD OTHER ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE ALSO. BUT, THAT IS FOR ANOTHER TIME. I AM SO UPSET WITH CHRYSLER AS I READ THE WHOLE PROBLEM WAS THEY FORGOT TO PUT DRAIN HOLES IN THE CRADLE. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO FROM HERE.
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND HEARD A LOAD BANG WHEN DRIVERS SIDE OF CAR DROPPED DOWN ONTO FRONT TIRE. CAR ABRUPTLY SWERVED INTO LANE WITH APPROACHING TRAFFIC. VEHICLE STOPPED AGAINST THE CURB AND ONCOMING TRAFFIC STOPPED IN TIME. WE TOWED VEHICLE TO A FRIENDS BUSINESS FOR INSPECTING AND IT WAS DISCOVERED THE ENGINE CRADLE HAD ROTTED OUT FROM RUST. WE CALLED LOCAL DEALER AND WAS ASKED FOR OUR V.I.N # AND WAS TOLD OUR CAR WAS NOT PART OF RECALL BECAUSE IT WAS NOT BUILT WITHIN A FEW WEEKS WINDOW. IN SEARCHING MORE INFORMATION ONLINE WE FOUND THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE ON THESE CARS. PLEASE ADVISE
MY PACIFICA HAS AN EXHAUST PROBLEM I HEAR AN EXHAUST NOISE AND SMELL FUMES INSIDE OF VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE TIPM MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 247,000.
I WENT TO GO WASH MY 2004 PACIFICA AND WHEN I GOT DOWN ON MY HANDS AND KNEES TO WASH THE TIRES I NOTICED SOME RUST UNDER CAR SO I GOT ON MY BACK AND LOOKED UNDER MY CAR AND NOTICED MY WHOLE SUBFRAME WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT ON BOTH SIDES.I'M NOT TO HAPPY AND I FEEL AS IF THEIR SHOULD BE A LAW SUIT FILED.I HAVE SINCE READ COMPLAINTS AND SO FAR I HAVNT COME ACROSS ONE PERSON WHO LIVES IN A SNOW STATE WERE THE ROADS ARE SALTED IN WINTER WHO HAVE NOT HAD A RUSTED SUB FRAME ON THEIR PACIFICA.I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HOLD UP IS WITH CHRYSLER FIXING WHAT THEY SOLD TO US!!!
I TOOK MY PACIFCA TO THE PARKWAY DEALER AT 21560 HALL ROAD CLINTON TWP MI 48038 DUE TO A STALLING ISSUE. 586 465 7262. USUALLY EARLY MORNING AFTER FIRST STARTING THE CAR, THEN DRIVING A SHORT DISTANCE. THE CAR WOULD EITHER STALL OUT OR THE ENGINE WOULD REV AND ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE. WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE ON IT'S OWN, I NEEDED TO PUT FIRM PRESSURE ON THE BRAKES TO HOLD IT IN CHECK. THE TECHNICIANS AT PARKWAY FAILED TO SUCCESSFULLY ANALYZE AND DIAGNOSE THE STALLING AND UNINTENDED ACCELERATION ISSUES. INSTEAD, HE TOLD ME THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE TO DUE SEVERE ENGINE CRADLE (SUBFRAME) ROT. 2 CHANNELS - LOWER PORTION HAVE RUSTED THROUGH. AFTER INVESTIGATING THIS ISSUE, I FOUND THAT IT IS COMMON AMONG PACIFICAS MANUFACTURED IN 2004/2005. I ADDRESSED THIS CONCERN WITH THE DEALER TO NO AVAIL. I ALSO RAISED A CASE WITH CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY ALSO REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING TO REPLACE THE SUBFRAME, DESPITE ACKNOWLEDGING A WARRANTY EXTENSION LETTER ISSUED FOR 2004/2005 PACIFICAS BECAUSE OF THE SUBFRAME PROBLEMS AND ALSO A SERVICE BULLETIN.
MY CAR HAS BEGUN TO SHAKE. I JUST GOT BACK FROM THE MECHANIC, WHO EXPLAINED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE IS SEVERELY CORRODED AND RUSTED WITH SEVERAL HOLES IN IT. HE PRINTED UP THE RECALL INFORMATION CONCERNING THIS, WHICH I NEVER RECEIVED OR KNEW ABOUT ... AND WHICH DOESN'T COVER MY CAR. I HAVE $2,000 WORTH OF WORK NEEDED TO MAKE MY CAR SAFE THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD BE PAYING FOR. I AM COMPLETELY SICK OF PAYING OUT OF POCKET TO FIX THINGS ON MY CAR THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED, BUT MY CAR ISN'T COVERED UNDER. I AM ABSOLUTELY LIVID AT THIS POINT!!!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONTROL MODULE BOX WAS DESTROYED. IN ADDITION, THE WIRE HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
JUST BROUGHT OUR CAR TO THE SHOP FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THEY INFORMED US THAT OUR ENGINE CRADDLE IS SO BADLY ROOTING THAT WE HAVE TO SPEND $2300 TO REPAIR. I HAVE HEARD CHRYSLER NEW ABOUT THIS AND IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE OUR CAR WAS BUILT IN AUG OF 2004. THAT IS HORRIBLE !!!!!
