PURCHASED THE CAR AUG, 2014. PREVIOUS OWNER ALSO HAD SAME ISSUES. HAS BEEN IN SHOP SEVERAL TIMES, UNABLE TO PINPOINT CAUSE/REMEDY SITUATION. SEAT CONTROLS DO NOT WORK, REMOTE KEYFOBS DO NOT WORK, INTERIOR LIGHTS, HEAD LAMPS, NO ELECTRICAL FUNCTION PRESENT UNLESS KEY IS IN IGNITION, IN THE "ON" POSITION. WHEN SHUTTING OFF THE CAR, ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD LIGHT UP AND THE ONLY WAY TO SHUT THEM OFF IS TO PUSH ON AND THEN OFF THE HAZARD LIGHTS. THIS WILL CAUSE ALL ELECTRICAL TO GO OUT, INCLUDING THE HEAD LAMPS AND ALL INTERIOR LIGHTS. IF YOU DO NOT TURN THEM OFF BY USING THE HAZARD LIGHTS, IT WILL KILL THE BATTERY. WE HAVE REPLACED THE FUSES IN FOR THE SEATS SEVERAL TIMES. THEY WORK FOR A BIT AND THEN BLOW OUT AGAIN. THE MECHANICS HAVE GONE AS FAR AS TO REPLACE THE WIRING ASSEMBLY AND STILL NO REMEDY. I DON'T KNOW HOW THERE IS NOT A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE.
ENGINE CRADLE RUSTED THROUGH. STILL HOLDING ENGINE HOWEVER, HEARING A POPPING NOISE WHEN PLACED IN GEAR. MECHANIC STATED VEHICLE NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. HAVE OWNED SINCE 2005 AND NOW NOT ABLE TO DRIVE IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DISCOVERED SEVERE CORROSION ON THE SUBFRAME AND ENGINE CRADLE, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MANUFACTURER'S RECALL. THE RECALL NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,875.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SHIFT LEVER BECAME STUCK IN THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWN A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS PERFORATED DUE TO RUST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I HAVE A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFIC THAT HAS ABOUT 100,000 MILES ON IT. IN AUGUST OF 2014, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN DOWNERS GROVE IL ON OGDEN FOR AN OIL CHANGE. ONCE THEY HAD THE VEHICLE UP ON THE RACK, THEY SAW EXTENSIVE SUB FRAME RUST DAMAGE AND TOLD ME THAT SOON THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVABLE DUE TO THE SUB FRAME THAT IS RUSTED THROUGH AND DETERIORATING. THIS IS PREMATURE ENGINE CRADLE RUST FAILURE. THEY SAID IT WAS A COSTLY REPAIR AND THAT CHRYSLER WOULDN'T COVER ANYTHING BECAUSE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, I HAVE TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF THIS CAR AND THE MILEAGE IS CONSIDERABLY LOW. I HAVE ALSO SPOKEN WITH CHRYSLER AND OPENED A CASE WITH THEM BUT THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT COVER ANY REPAIRS BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS BUILT A FEW MONTHS AFTER THE RANGE THAT THEY ARE FIXING. *TR

JUST TOOK MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TO MY MECHANIC TODAY, 08/19/2014, AND FOUND MY UNDERCARRIAGE TO BE RUSTING. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD LAST ONLY ABOUT 1 MORE YEAR. OUR CHRYSLER PACIFICA ONLY HAS ABOUT 109,000 MILES ON IT. IT IS GOING TO COST WELL OVER $3500.00 TO REPLACE THE UNDERCARRIAGE. I AM A DISABLED VETERAN, AND AM ON A FIXED BUDGET. THESE COSTS ARE TAXING MYSELF AND MY WIFE, AND EATING UP OUR SAVINGS. WE NEED HELP TO FIND OUT IF CHRYSLER WOULD BE WILLING TO HELP US OUT WITH THE COST OF FIXING OUR VEHICLE, OR AT LEAST MEETING US HALF WAY. *TR
TOOK MY VEHICLE IN TO HAVE A SMALL RADIATOR LEAK CHECKED OUT AND AN OIL CHANGE AS I AM PLANNING A TRIP FROM SW MICHIGAN TO CHICAGO IN A WEEK. MUCH TO MY SURPRISE, SHOCK AND DISMAY THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT MY CARS FRAME AND ENGINE SUSPENSION IS BADLY RUSTED AND THE ENGINE CAN FALL OUT OF MY CAR AT ANY GIVEN TIME. AS I DRIVE MY CAR FOR MY JOB AND ALSO HELP TAKE MY GRANDCHILDREN TO AND FROM SCHOOL I AM SICKENED BY THIS NEWS. THEN TO FIND OUT (I BOUGHT MY CAR USED) THAT CHRYSLER DID A RECALL BUT THEN RESCINDED THE RECALL REALLY MADE ME ANGRY. I AM NOW STUCK WITH A CAR I CANNOT/SHOULD NOT DRIVE AND THERE IS NO WAY I CAN AFFORD TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE. I WILL NEVER BUY A CHRYSLER PRODUCT AGAIN. I HAVE A 2005 PACIFICA. THE CAR WAS IN FOR BODY WORK, WHEN A MECHANIC NOTICED SEVERE RUSTING ON THE FRAME. HE STATED THAT THE ENGINE, COULD FALL THROUGH THE BODY FRAME! I DID A GOOGLE SEARCH AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THERE IS A STORY FROM A TV STATION IN FLORIDA COVERING THIS STORY. THIS IS A ENGINEERING FAILURE ACCORDING TO MY MECHANIC, WHO STATED THEY DID NOT INCLUDED ENOUGH DRAIN PLUGS. MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS CAR AND I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAY IT IS PAST THE WARRANTY. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AN ENGINE SHOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO FALL OUT OF ITS MOUNTINGS!!!!!! *TR
THE HEADLIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY WOULD NOT WORK AND THEN STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. I BELIEVE THIS IS DUE TO THE WIRING HARNESS ISSUE THAT WAS RECALL ON MANY OTHER 05 PACIFICAS UNDER 05V066000. MY VIN DOES NOT PULL UP THAT IT WAS AFFECTED IN THIS RECALL, BUT I HAVE THIS AND ANOTHER ISSUE THAT I SUBMITTED A COMPLAINT FOR THAT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THE CHRYSLER COMPANY SAID EVEN THOUGH IT APPEARS TO BE THE SAME ISSUE IN THE RECALL, SINCE MY VIN DOES NOT SHOW TO BE APART OF THAT RECALL, THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP FIX THE COSTLY ISSUE. I DO NOT KNOW WHERE ELSE TO GO FOR HELP. I SUBMITTED A COMPLAINT THROUGH CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT HELP UNLESS THERE WAS A RECALL EXPANSION THAT EVENTUALLY INCLUDED MY VIN, BUT NOT TO COUNT ON IT. I TOLD CHRYSLER THAT JUST BECAUSE THIS VIN WAS MISSED IN THE INVESTIGATION THAT IT WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO FOR THEM TO FIX IT.. I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT AND WOULD NOT HELP. THANK YOU.. *TR
THE ENGINE CRADLE HAS COLLAPED AND THE MOTOR HAS DROPPED ABOUT 3". IT WILL BE FALLING OUT OF THE CAR SOON DUE TO CORROSION ON THIS PART. THIS IS THE EXACT PART THAT THE 2004 HAD ISSUES WITH. THE CAR IS NOW UNSAFER TO DRIVE AND NEEDS AN ESTIMATED $2200 REPAIR. THERE IS AN APPARENT DESIGN ISSUE AS THIS CAR IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE OTHERWISE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. THE PROBLEM RECURRED ON THREE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.

I JUST RECEIVED A CALL FROM MY CHRYSLER DEALER TELLING ME MY ENGINE CRADLE HAS ROTTED OUT AND THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS BUT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE BUILD DATES COVERED BY THE RECALL. IN EXPLORING FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE WEB I HAVE FOUND THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES AND PEOPLE ARE BASICALLY DRIVING AROUND IN TIME BOMBS. CAN YOU HELP ME HERE AND GET CHRYSLER TO OWN UP TO THIS PROBLEM? THE COST TO ME OUT-OF-POCKET WILL BE $4500. *TR
WHILE HAVING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE, THE TECHNICIAN NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE AND SUB FRAME WERE CORRODED AND FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. WE WERE ADVISED THAT CHRYSLER IS "NOT PARTICIPATING' IN ASSISTANCE FOR COVERING RUST DAMAGE TO ENGINE CRADLE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 84,500. *TR
I RECENTLY TOOK MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IN TO HAVE THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM REPAIRED AND THE MECHANIC CALLED AND TOLD ME THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED OUT AND THE CAR WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. I DID A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH AND DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH PACIFICA'S. ACCORDING TO THE INFORMATION THAT I FOUND, CHRYSLER ORIGINALLY DISTRIBUTED A LETTER INDICATING THAT IT WOULD COVER 2004 AND 2005 MODELS ONLY TO SEND OUT A LATER LETTER DRASTICALLY REDUCING THE NUMBER OF CARS THAT WOULD BE COVERED ON THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. IT'S APPARENT THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE. IN 1998 FORD RECALLED 2.6 MILLION VEHICLES FOR A SIMILAR ISSUE. CHRYSLER SHOULD FOLLOW SUIT AND DO THE SAME THING. *TR
MY VEHICLE IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS THE RECALL. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER ON JULY 30 2014. AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN WAS NOT APART OF THE RECALL. I TOLD THEM MY VEHICLE IS STALLING AS IM GOING OVER 50MPH MY GAS TANK GOES FROM HALF FULL TO EMPTY AND THE E LIGHT TURNS ON. IF I DON'T RUSH TO THE GAS STATION MY CAR WILL DIE AS IF IT HAD NO FUEL LEFT. ( LEAVING ME STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WITH MY CHILDREN ). WHEN I DO PUT GAS IN ITS VERY SLOW AND I HAVE TO HOLD THE BAR BACK ON THE GAS PUMP ITSELF OR MY CAR WILL TURN THE PUMP HANDLE OFF. MY RPM JUMPS UP AND DOWN AS IM ACCELERATING. IT FEELS LIKE MY ENGINE IS HESITATING. MY GAS PEDAL GETS STUCK WHILE DRIVING AND I HAVE TO TAP IT WITH MY FOOT TO UNSTICK IT. HOW IS THIS EVEN SAFE. TO RECALL SOME AND NOT OTHERS. I'M A STAY AT HOME MOTHER TO 3 BOYS UNDER THE AGE OF 5 YEARS OLD. I READ ONLINE THE HORROR STORIES OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND YEAR MAKE MODEL EVERYTHING AND CHRYSLER IS NOT DOING ANYTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP ME FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE ME AND MY CHILDREN AND EVERYONE ELSE BEFORE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IS TO HAPPEN. AS OF RIGHT NOW MY CAR IS STATE INSPECTED. OUR 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAS THE MOTOR MOUNTS AND THE ENGINE CRADLE RUSTED OUT TO THE POINT WHERE IT'S INTEGRITY IS COMPROMISED BECAUSE IT'S SO BAD. THE RECALL CHRYSLER HAS SET FORTH FOR THEIR RECALL OF THO DOES NOT COVER MY VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS MADE A DIFFERENT MONTH, BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT CHRYSLER CHANGED AFTER THEY ISSUED THE RECALL. IT IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT ALLOWS WATER TO SIT AND CONTINUALLY RUST AND CORRODE AND CHRYSLER WILL NOT COVER THIS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE HE NOTICED THAT THE SUSPENSION CRADLE WAS HANGING UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BEGAN TO WOBBLE WITHOUT WARNING. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FRAME WAS RUSTED AND THE ENGINE CRADLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
I WAS DRIVING FROM WORK WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND THE CAR STOPPED. I HAD PEOPLE PUSH THE CAR TO THE CURB. I WAITED FOR HELP AND THE CAR STARTED AFTER ABOUT A HALF HOUR. I WAS DRIVING THE CAR ABOUT THREE MONTHS LATER WITH MY 11 YERA OLD IN THE CAR AND THE CAR STARTED TO SLOW DOWN. I WAS ABLE TO TURN INTO A PARKING LOT AND THE CAR STOPPED. THE CAR WOULD NOT START, EVEN THOUGH DASHBOARD LIGHTS CAME ON. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY HOME.
I TOOK MY CAR TO THE SHOP TO FIX A HUB BEARING AND PULLEY AND WAS INFORMED BY MY MECHANIC THAT I HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH MY FRAME, HE INFORMED ME MY FRAME IS RUSTED AND I AM IN A LOT OF DANGER DRIVING THIS CAR. HE INFORMED ME THERE WAS AN ARTICLE TO LOOK IT UP ONLINE ABOUT THIS ISSUE BEING A PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL. I WAS NOT AWARE THERE WERE SO MANY ARTICLES ABOUT THIS MAKE AND MODEL AND THIS RUST PROBLEM. I CANNOT BELIEVE CHRYSLER KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND NEVER CONTACT ME TO WARN ME OF THIS PROBLEM, IN WHICH CAN COST ME MY LIFE AND MY FAMILY. THIS IS ABOUT A 2500.00 JOB THAT I FEEL CHRYSLER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR. PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW I CAN BE HELPED WITH THIS SITUATION. *TR
AFTER TAKING OUR 2005 PACIFICA TO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP TO BE LOOKED AT FOR RATTLING AND KNOCKING NOISES IN THE FRONT END AND COMPLAINTS OF THE CAR SOUNDING LIKE IT WAS GOING TO FALL APART, ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING OVER BUMPY ROADS; I WAS ADVISED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE, SUBFRAME, SWAY BAR LINKS AND FRAME BUSHINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO RUST AND CORROSION. THE COST WOULD BE BETWEEN $3000.00 AND $4500.00. WE WERE ADVISED THE CAR WAS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. WE ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TO TAKE PICTURES OF THE FRONT END WHEN THEY PUT IT UP ON THE LIFT. WHEN WE RECEIVED THE PICTURES VIA EMAIL, WE WERE HORRIFIED BY WHAT WE SAW. WE WERE GRATEFUL THAT WE WERE NOT INVOLVED IN WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A TRAGIC ACCIDENT HAD WE NOT TAKEN THE CAR IN TO BE LOOKED AT. WE WONDERED WHY THIS HAPPENED AS WE HAVE 3 OTHER CARS OLDER THAN THIS CAR. THEY HAVE BEEN INSPECTED AND DO NO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. AFTER SOME INVESTIGATING WE HAVE FOUND OUT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE, YEAR AND MAKE AND CHRYSLER IS WELL AWARE OF IT, THEY HAVE NO PLANS TO DO A RECALL OR ADVISE OWNERS OF THE PROBLEM, OR AT LEAST NOT UNTIL THERE IS A FATALITY OR SOME HORRIFIC ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS FAULTY PRODUCT CHRYSLER IS PUTTING IN THEIR VEHICLES. WE HAVE LOST ALL FAITH IN CHRYSLER.THEY MUST THINK VERY LITTLE OF HUMAN LIFE. *TR

MY HUSBAND WAS IN CAR ACCIDENT A CAR HIT HIM ON PASSENGER SIDE CAR FLIP OVER ON DRIVER SIDE. DRIVER AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY THE WINDOW ON DRIVER SIDE EXPLODED IN HUSBAND FACE HAND WENT OUTSIDE OF WINDOW HIT GROUND AND CAR THEN FLIP BACK ON ITS WHEEL . *TR
THE ABS LIGHT STARTED TO JUST FLASH ON AND OFF, EVEN WHEN NOT BRAKING. THEN ABS STARTED TO MALFUNCTION CAUSING PROBLEM WITH BRAKING. THOUGHT I WOULD RUN THE STOP SIGN. IN LAST SECONDS NORMAL BRAKING OCCURRED. ABS LIGHT BEGAN COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY, TOOK TO SHOP FOLLOWING DAY. HAD FRONT AND REAR BRAKE REPLACED. LIGHT STARTING COMING ON AGAIN WITHIN A FEW DAYS, WHEN LIGHT COMES ON PROBLEM WITH BRAKES. *TR
RETURNED FROM MECHANIC ON A MAINTENANCE ISSUE, I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED TO REPLACE MY "K FRAME" , THE FRONT ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED, NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE- UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEBSITE FOR SAME ISSUE. I HOLD A COPY OF AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH ONLY COVERS VEHICLES MADE IN A 6 WEEK TIME PERIOD FOR THE SAME ISSUE, MY PACIFICA WAS MADE 8/16/04 HAS BECOME INELIGIBLE. I WAS LUCKY MY GARAGE TOLD ME OTHERS MAY NOT BE SO LUCKY, AN INFERIOR PRODUCT THAT WAS USED MORE THAN JUST IN A 6 WEEK TIME FRAME. *TR
DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, DISCOVERED SEVERE CORROSION TO ENGINE CRADLE. POTENTIAL IS THERE FOR CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE ENGINE CRADLE, CAUSING A COLLAPSE. TECHNICIAN AT DEALERSHIP RECOMMENDED NO LONGER DRIVING VEHICLE, STATING IT WAS UNSAFE. CAR IS OTHERWISE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, HAVING BEEN GARAGED AND CAREFULLY MAINTAINED THROUGHOUT ITS LIFETIME. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. NO NOTIFICATION WAS PROVIDED TO ME BY CHRYSLER THAT THIS SHOULD BE CHECKED. MY RESEARCH SHOWS THAT CHRYSLER HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE FOR YEARS BUT THEY ARE REFUSING TO ASSIST WITH REPLACEMENT OF ENGINE CRADLE. A LETTER WAS DRAFTED BY CHRYSLER COVERING CERTAIN 2004-2005 PACIFICAS WITHIN 10 YEARS OF PURCHASE OR 150,000 MILES. MY VEHICLE FALLS INTO THIS CATEGORY, SINCE IT IS LESS THAN 9 YEARS OLD, AND HAD 100,000 MILES ON IT AT TIME OF DISCOVERY OF CORROSION. INITIAL TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS PUBLISHED (12-001-10 IN OCT 2010) STATE THAT THIS CONDITION COULD AFFECT ALL 2004 - 05 PACIFICAS. IT WAS LATER SUPERCEDED BY THE CURRENT BULLETIN 13-001-12 DATED MARCH 16, 2012 WHICH LIMITS AFFECTED POPULATION TO AN ~6 WEEK RANGE OF VINS, WHICH MY CAR DOES NOT FALL UNDER AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I AM OUT OF WARRANTY. COMPARING PHOTOS TO OTHER COMPLAINTS AS WELL AS THE STORY ON NBCCHICAGO.COM (SEE REFERENCE STORY BELOW), MY VEHICLE CONDITION AND THE MATERIAL DEFECT IS UNDENIABLY THE SAME AS WHAT CHRYSLER IS CURRENTLY CONSIDERING AS THE "AFFECTED POPULATION" AND IS AT A POINT WHERE MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN CONSIDERED UNSAFE TO DRIVE. MY MECHANIC HAS INFORMED ME THAT THE SUB FRAME THAT HOLDS THE ENGINE ON MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAS EXTENSIVE CORROSION AND HAS A HOLE IN IT THE SIZE OF A PERSON'S FIST. HE SAID THAT THE CORROSION PROTECTION WAS OBVIOUSLY INADEQUATE AND COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF I WERE IN AN ACCIDENT. HE SAID I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE IT AND IT WILL NOT BE AN INEXPENSIVE JOB. MY CAR WAS RUNNING GREAT, SUDDENLY ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON- CAR STILL RAN FINE UNTIL I PARKED IT, AND COULDN'T GET IT TO COME OUT OF GEAR. FINALLY WAS ABLE TO PUT IN DRIVE, TOOK IT TO THE DODGE/CHRYSLER/JEEP DEALER AND TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM AND I HAD LOOKED ON LINE AND MANY OTHER VEHICLES LIKE MINE WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, SEVERAL SUGGESTED IT TO BE THE STARTER SWITCH EVEN THOUGH IT WOULD BE SUGGESTED IT WAS THE COMPUTER (BCM). DEALER TOLD ME THAT VERY THING, IT WAS THE BCM AND ON TOP OF THAT THEY TELL ME MY ENGINE CRADLE WAS "SEVERELY CRACKED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE" COST $5298.00 TO FIX. NEEDLESS TO SAY I TRIED TO FIND OUT IF THERE WAS A RECALL- THERE MUST BE, MY CAR IS ONLY 9YRS OLD AND SHOULDN'T BE READY FOR THE SCRAP YARD. WELL IT TURNS OUT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE ENGINE CRADLE BUT ONLY FOR A SELECT NUMBER OF PACIFICA'S WHICH OF COURSE DID NOT INCLUDE MINE. I WOULD LIKE CHRYSLER TO VOLUNTARILY RECALL THESE CARS FOR THE CRACKED ENGINE CRADLE, THERE COULD BE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE DRIVING OUT THERE THAT DON'T KNOW THEY RISK THEIR ENGINES FALLING OUT WHILE THEY DRIVE. THIS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS ACCIDENTS WHICH NO DOUBT COULD LEAD TO FATALITIES. *TR
MY LOCAL MECHANIC WAS LOOKING FOR A RECURRING RATTLE IN THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL AREA, AND ASKED ME TO LOOK AT THE CORROSION ON THE FRONT SUBFRAME. HE COMMENTED THAT HE KNEW CHRYSLER HAD A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS FRAME AND THAT HE ALSO KNEW THAT CHRYSLER IS UNWILLING TO COVER THE COST TO REPAIR THIS INFERIOR PORTION OF THE VEHICLE. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF OTHERS WHO HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM ASKING NHTSA TO INTERCEDE WITH CHRYSLER AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO COVER THE REPAIR OF THIS POTENTIALLY FATAL FLAW IN THEIR PRODUCT, AND HAVE A RECALL ISSUED FOR ALL MODELS WITH THIS PROBLEM, AND NOT THE NARROW ONE MONTH MANUFACTURING WINDOW THAT CHRYSLER SEEMS TO THINK IS ADEQUATE TO COVER WITH AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. *TR

I EXPERIENCED VIOLENT VIBRATION AND OR/SHAKE IN THE STEERING WHEEL. WITH A THUMPING UNDER MY FEET .WHEN I GOT HOME I JACKED UP MY CAR TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. AND WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THE REAR MOTOR MOUNT HAD BROKEN THROUGH THE CROSS MEMBER AND NOT MUCH ATTACHMENT REMAINING. *TR

I'M WRITING IN REGARDS TO CHRYSLER'S RECALL NHTSA # 06V432000 NO.F44 FUEL PUMP / POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE. MY VEHICLE IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS THE RECALL. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER ON JULY 30 2014. AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN WAS NOT APART OF THE RECALL. I TOLD THEM MY VEHICLE IS STALLING AS IM GOING OVER 50MPH MY GAS TANK GOES FROM HALF FULL TO EMPTY AND THE E LIGHT TURNS ON. I CALLED CHRYSLER BEFORE I PURCHASED THE CAR TO SEE IF THEIR WERE ANY RECALLS ON IT, AND WAS TOLD THEIR WAS NOT. THE CAR IS OTHERWISE IN PERFECT CONDITION, NO DAMAGE AND VERY LITTLE WEAR INSIDE AND OUT. IT WAS CLEAR TO MY MECHANIC THAT THIS WAS DUE TO SOME DEFECT IN THE VEHICLE, AND SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON A 10 YEAR OLD CAR THAT IS IN AS GOOD OF CONDITION AS MIND IS WITH ONLY 110000 MILES ON IT. TO HAVE A NEW ENGINE CRADLE PUT IT, IT WOULD COST OVER $4000. I CANNOT AFFORD THAT, SO WE ARE PUTTING IN A RECONDITIONED ONE, INSPECTED TO MAKE SURE IT HAS NO WEAR OR RUST ON IT, AND WE ARE PAINTING AND PUTTING ADDITIONAL UNDERCOATING ON IT AS TO PREVENT ANY SUCH RECURRENCES. AFTER LOOKING ONLINE, I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM, AND IS EFFECTING A LARGE NUMBER OF OWNERS, AND IS MUCH MORE WIDESPREAD THAN CHRYSLER IS WILLING TO ADMIT. FRONT ENGINE CRADLE THERE WAS A LETTER SENT BY CHRYSLER BACK IN NOVEMBER OF 2010 THAT "WE ARE EXTENDING THE WARRANTY PERIOD ON YOUR FRONT ENGINE CRADLE BECAUSE SOME VEHICLES OPERATED IN AREAS OF HIGH ROAD SALT USAGE, MAY EXPERIENCE ENGINE CRADLE CORROSION RESULTING IN A DRIVEABILITY VIBRATION AND OR SHAKE. THIS ENGINE CRADLE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE APPLIES TO CHRYSLER PACIFICA MODEL YEARS 2004-2005." I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER TWICE AND WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR IS NOT IN THE SERIAL NUMBER RANGE AND I JUST PAID OVER $2450 TO HAVE MY CAR REPAIRED. *TR
THE SUBFRAME IN MY VEHICLE IS RUSTED OUT. CHRYSLER ACKNOWLEDGED THIS ISSUE DUE TO POSSIBLE SUBFRAME FAILURE THAT COULD CAUSE A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE WHICH COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS ISSUED FOR 2004 AND 2005 MODELS OF MY VEHICLE AND THOSE WERE REPAIRED. I HAVE THE EXACT DAMAGE LISTED IN THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT CAME OUT IN 2010. HOWEVER I AM TOLD THAT BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS BUILT IN OCTOBER 2005 I AM NOT COVERED. I MEET ALL THE CRITERIA LISTED IN THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FOR A REPLACEMENT. NOW THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING, THE AIR WONT TURN ON IF BLINKERS ARE ALL, THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL BODY HAS CRAPPED OUT AND CHRYSLER REFUSES TO FIX THE PROBLEMS THEY SET THE ORIGINAL RECALL FOR. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO RESPOND AND THEN SURGED FORWARD. A WHISTLING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE ENGINE.
