I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR END OF MAY 2013,WHEN EVER I HIT SPEEDS 45 OR ABOVE I GET SHAKING FROM FRONT END.BROUGHT TO GARAGE HAD TIRES BALANCED, STILL DID IT SO I WENT BACK. HAD ALL 4 TIERS ROTATED AND BALANCED.SEEMED BETTER BUT AS MY SPEED INCREASED AND MORE I DRIVE IT GETS WORST.I FEEL VERY UNSAFE DRIVING,IT FEELS LIKE WHEELS ARE COMING OFF.I DO A LOT OF DRIVING AND WITH MY DOGS AND GRANDCHILDREN ALMOST DAILY.CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX EXPENSIVE ISSUE WHEN MAKING WEEKLY PAYMENTS ON MY NEW/USED CAR. AT A LOSS OF PROBLEM AND RESOLVING IT.CAN I BRING IT TO MANUFACTURER OR GARAGE AND MAKE CHRYSLER PAY FOR THE PROBLEMS FROM WHAT EVER THE OBVIOUS DEFECTS ARE? *TT
TOOK CAR TO BE INSPECTED AND WAS TOLD THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTING OUT AND THE CAR WOULD NOT PASS INSPECTION. DEALER QUOTED ME $2,000 TO REPLACE; GOT SECOND OPINION AND PAID $1,700 TO HAVE THE CRADLE REPLACED. JUST DISCOVERED THIS WEBSITE (09/2014), OTHERWISE WOULD HAVE FILED THIS COMPLAINT EARLIER. SEEING THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE ON THIS WEBSITE MAKES ME FEEL CHRYSLER SHOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR THE MONEY I SPENT TO HAVE THIS REPAIR DONE. *TR
I HAD GOTTEN A CATALYTIC CONVERTER APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS AGO AND NOW THE CHRYSLER DEALER SAY I NEED ANOTHER ONE I THOUGHT THEY LAST LONGER THAN THAT, INSTEAD THEY SAY ITS WEAR AND TEAR I DO NOT THINK SO I THINK THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE EMISSION. *TR
VIOLENT SHAKING OF 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. TOOK 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IN FOR INSPECTION AND WAS TOLD THE ENGINE CRADLE CROSSMEMBER WAS ROTTED AND THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THE POWER STEERING RACK AND ENGINE UP WERE MISSING. MECHANIC TOLD ME HE WOULD NOT RELEASE THE 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA BACK TO ME BECAUSE IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD DO NOTHING TO REPAIR IT. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AND WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
CAR WAS STALLING THE NIT BEFORE, PEDAL STARTED GETTING STUCK. I GO HOME AND PARK THE CAR. THE NEXT MORNING I GET IN THE CAR TO TAKE ME DAUGHTERS TO SCHOOL AND CARS GEAR SHIFT WILL NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK. CAR WILL TURN ON BUT GEARS WONT MOVE. 80, 000 MILES ON CAR 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING. I HAVE CONSUMER REPORT OF THE SAME PROBLEMS AND PINK PLASTIC PIECE BREAKING NOT ONLY ON CHRYSLER PACIFICAS BUT A RECALL ON THE DODGE MAGNUM, CHARGERS, AND THE CHRYSLER 300. THIS ISSUE IS HAPPENING TO A LOT OF CHRYSLER AND DODGE CARS THERE NEED TO BE A RECALL ON THE PACIFICAS AS WELL. IF U GOOGLE CHRYSLER PACIFICA TRANSMISSION GEAR SHIFT U WILL C IM NOT THE ONLY ONE. I GUESS THIS WHY THIS CAR WAS DISCONTINUED. SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE. PEOPLE ARE NOT AWARE OF HOW TO CONTACT ABOUT THIS ISSUE. IS IT FAIR THAT CONSUMERS HAVE TO PAY ALMOST 600 DOLLARS TO FIX AN ISSUE THAT CLEARLY MOST OF CHRYSLER AND DODGE CARS ARE ALL HAVING. A RECALL NEEDS TO HAPPEN FOR THE TRANSMISSION GEAR SHIFT IN PACIFICAS NOW SINCE WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS THE DODGE CHARGER, MAGNUM, AND CHRYSLER 300. *TR
TOOK CAR IN FOR ROUTINE OIL CHANGE. CHRYSLER DEALER STATED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE IS RUSTING OUT AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACE VERY SOON AND IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. CHRYSLER HAD A RECALL FOR A SELECT 2004 YEAR CARS FOR THE SAME REASON. WHY HAS THE RECALL NOT BEEN EXTENDED TO INCLUDE A WIDER RANGE OF VINS? I NOTICE ABOUT 1/2 OF THE RECENT COMPLAINTS ARE FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS ADVISED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE MOTOR MOUNT AND COMPUTER SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000. *TR
SUB-FRAME IS TOTALLY ROTTED OUT!!!!!!!!!!! *TR
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 55MPH THE CAR BEGINS JERKING LIGHTS FLASHING CAR SLOWS DOWN AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE CAR HAS DONE THIS SEVERAL TIMES RESULTING IN THE CAR SHUTTING OFF AND WOULDN'T START UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. *TR
ENGINE CRADLE HAS RUSTED THROUGH AND MADE THE CAR UNSAFE TO OPERATE FOR MY TEENAGE SON. A VERY EXPENSIVE REPLACEMENT IS REQUIRED. STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY SHOULD HAVE A MUCH LONGER LIFETIME. CHRYSLER WAS CONTACTED AND DECLINED THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING INSPECTED, IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE SUB FRAME WAS PERFORATED DUE TO RUST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE SUB FRAME WAS SEVERELY RUSTED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MANUFACTURER'S RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
I OWN A 3005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA THAT HAS BEEN TAKEN REGULARLY TO THE DEALER FOR OIL CHANGES REPAIRS AND REGULAR MAINTENANCE. TODAY MY HUSBAND NOTICED SOME RUSTING OF THE FRAME THAT THE ENGINE SITS IN SO I WENT TO DEALER AND HAD THEM LOOK AT IT AND THEY AGREED AND WERE SURPRISED THAT THIS WAS HAPPENING AND IT SHOULDN'T. I WAS TOLD IT SHOULD BE FIXED IS VERY UNSAFE AND THE COST IS VERY EXPENSIVE. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY SIMPLY SAID SORRY NOT A RECALLED VEHICLE AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THEY TOLD ME TO FIX IT AND SAVE THE RECEIPT IN CASE THERE IS A FUTURE RECALL. I AM VERY UPSET BY THIS RESPONSE. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING MY KIDS AS WELL AS MYSELF ANY WHERE IN A CAR THAT IS UNSAFE AND APPARENTLY OUR SAFETY IS NOT A CONCERN FOR CHRYSLER. I WILL MAKE SURE NO ONE I KNOW BUYS A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY ESPECIALLY AFTER FINDING OUT THAT SO MANY OTHER PACIFICAS HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED. *TR
THE SUBFRAME (WHICH HOLDS UP THE ENGINE) HAS THOROUGHLY RUSTED THROUGH CREATING THE DANGER OF THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION FALLING FROM THE FRAME. I AM TOLD THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. CHRYSLER HAS ACKNOWLEDGED A DEFECT IN MATERIALS USED TO CONSTRUCT CARS IN FEBRUARY AND MARCH OF 2004 AND HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 150,000 MILES FOR THOSE VEHICLES. AS MINE WAS PRODUCED 4 MONTHS LATER THEY ARE DENYING ANY LIABILITY AND REFUSING ANY ASSISTANCE. THE DEFECT IS IDENTICAL TO ONE THAT IS COVERED ON CARS MADE 4 MONTHS PRIOR , AND THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO PROVIDE ANY DOCUMENTATION SHOWING THE MATERIAL USED ON MY VEHICLE IS NOT FROM THE DEFECTIVE BATCH. I MAY HAVE DEFECTIVE PARTS BUT THEY CANNOT PROVIDE A METHOD TO IDENTIFY THOSE DEFECTIVE PARTS. CHRYSLER IS UNWILLING TO EVEN EXAMINE THE VEHICLE, INSTEAD USING THE VIN AS THEIR ONLY REFERENCE AS TO COVERAGE. I FOUND IT INTERESTING THAT WHEN I REFERENCED OTHERS RECEIVING ASSISTANCE OUTSIDE THE PARAMETERS OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY I WAS TOLD THAT BASED ON CUSTOMER LOYALTY THERE MAY BE ASSISTANCE FOR SOME BUT IT WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO ME. I AM CONCERNED THAT CUSTOMER LOYALTY PLAYS A ROLE IN THE SAFETY OF THEIR (PAST) CUSTOMERS. I'M NOT SURE HOW MANY PEOPLE EXPECT THEIR FRAME TO FAIL IN 8 YEARS BUT THIS COULD BE A MAJOR SAFETY FACTOR FOR BOTH PASSENGERS AND ANY VEHICLE AROUND THEM WHEN AN ENGINE FALLS FROM A CAR. HOW MANY COMPLAINTS ARE NEEDED BEFORE ACTION IS TAKEN? *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE FRAME AND FLOOR BOARDS WERE PERFORATED DUE TO RUST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE PART NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR WAS ON BACK ORDER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 91,000. ..UPDATED 07-17-13 *BF ON MAY 30, 2013 THE CONSUMER REPLACED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FOR A SECOND TIME. THE LAST ONE, ONLY LASTED FOR 30,000 MILES. UPDATED 07/18/13
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE RECEIVING A REPAIR AT A PRIVATE MECHANIC, THE MECHANIC NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLE. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON TO SEE IF THAT REST SOMETHING. IT DID NOTHING, I DROVE THE CAR 3 MILES VERY SLOWLY TO THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP. THEY TOLD ME 3 OF THE MOTOR MOUNTS ARE BROKE, WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO MOVE AND REST UPON THE FRONT AXLES. THEY SAID THAT IS A CULPRIT OF THE CAR SHAKING. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 110,000. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY DECELERATE TO 30 MPH. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 5 MPH. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC, WHO REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP FILTER AND FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR HOWEVER THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 06V432000 (POWER TRAIN). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND THE CAR STARTED SHAKING AND THEN SOMETHING SOUNDED LIKE IT SNAPPED AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS ALMOST LOCKED AND COULD NOT STEER. HAD IT TOWED TO THE MECHANICS AND HE SAID THE UNDER FRAME AND THE BRACKETS ATTACHED FROM THE CHASIS TO THE FRAME HOLDING UP THE ENGINE HAD BROKEN OFF. I GOT HOME LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT RUSTING IN THE UNDER FRAME AND THAT IT IS A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE AND SUSPENSION CROSS MEMBER WAS RUSTED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 149,000 THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED, HER VEHICLE DID NOT QUALIFY FOR THE FREE REPAIR, AS THE VEHICLE WAS BUILT IN SEPTEMBER 2004. JUST HAD A STATE INSPECTION AND OIL CHANGE DONE ON MY 2005 PACIFICA. THE TECHNICIAN PUT MY CAR ON A LIFT AND POINTED OUT MULTIPLE AREAS WHERE THE ENGINE CRADLE FRAME IS RUSTING OUT. HE HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS ON A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE. AS IT TURNS OUT, WHILE INVESTIGATING THIS ISSUE ON THE NHTSB AND OTHER WEB SITES, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE CHRYSLER PACIFICA. AND IS APPARENTLY OF LITTLE CONCERN TO CHRYSLER. THEY HAVE OFFERED SOME PEOPLE HELP AND OTHERS HAVE BEEN TOLD "TOO BAD", BASED ON SOME ARBITRARY MANUFACTURE DATE RANGE. THIS IS EVEN THOUGH THE DEFECT IS THE SAME NO MATTER THE MANUFACTURE DATE. THIS TOTAL DISREGARD FOR THE SAFETY OF THEIR CONSUMERS IS UNBELIEVABLE AND SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED. WHILE MY CAR HAS PASSED THIS INSPECTION, WITHOUT CORRECTION, IT WILL NEVER PASS AGAIN. THIS WAS NOT A LOW COST VEHICLE AND IF CHRYSLER WAS AWARE OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE WHY WAS I NOT CONTACTED. ARE THEY WAITING FOR SOME KIND OF SERIOUS ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES OR DEATH TO RESPOND PROPERLY? I CONTACTED CHRYSLER ON THIS ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT HELP ME. DRIVING TO WORK AT 5:30 AM, THE GAS PEDAL BEGAN TO STICK AND THE CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY, SO TO KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC, I DEPRESSED IT HARDER TO MAKE THE CAR GO AT LEAST 65, IT WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN FREELY AS IF IT HAD NO STOPPING POINT BUT THE CAR CONTINUED TO SLOW. ALL THE TIME THE ENGINE WAS RACING ABOUT AS FAST AS MY HEART AND MIND. SCARED AND PRAYING NOT TO INJURE ANYONE, I TRIED AGAIN AND AGAIN, AND THE PEDAL CAUGHT IT SELF AND BEGAN TO REACT NORMALLY FOR A ABOUT 30 SECONDS WITH IT STUCK AGAIN AND THE CAR'S ENGINE BEGAN A SOUND OF RUSHING AND THE CAR BEGAN TO COAST. I PROCEEDED OFF THE HIGHWAY COASTING AND THE PEDAL CAUGHT AGAIN AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL IN TO WORK. I AM DEATHLY AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR... *TR
I OWN A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WITH 126K MILES. I RECENTLY HAD MY TIRES ROTATED AND IT WAS NOTICED THAT I HAD SIGNIFICANT RUSTING ON THE RIGHT FRONT SUBFRAME. THE FRAME IS NOT A MOVING PART AND SHOULD NOT WEAR OUT WITH A NORMAL LIFE EXPECTANCY OF THE CAR. THEY STATED IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT. I CALLED CHRYSLER TODAY AND MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED EVEN THOUGH THERE HAS BEEN AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON SOME VEHICLES. I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I POINTED OUT TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP THAT THERE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS NOTED ONLINE AND ON THIS SITE. SHE SAID MY INFORMATION WAS NOTED AND IF I GOT THE VEHICLE FIXED TO KEEP THE RECEIPT IN CASE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY IS BROADENED. I HOPE CHRYSLER LOOKS INTO THIS FURTHER. *TR
A WEEK AGO I SMELLED AN AWFUL BURNING SMELL COMING FROM MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC FOR INVESTIGATION AND REPAIRS NEEDED. THE CAR NEEDED AN ALTERNATOR, WATER PUMP AND SERPENTINE BELT. WHILE THEY WERE FIXING THIS PROBLEM I TOLD THEM TO INVESTIGATE THE RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONTEND. THEY FOUND THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTING AWAY. THE GARAGE SUGGESTED THAT I CONTACT CHRYSLER AS THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH PACIFICAS BUT IT HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. I DID MY RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THERE ARE EXTENDED WARRANTIES BEING OFFERED FOR THIS ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE FUEL CAP WAS REPLACED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE RESURFACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON. MOMENTS LATER I HAD TO COME TO A SUDDEN STOP AND HAD VERY LITTLE BRAKING POWER. I HAD TO SWERVE SEVERELY TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE OF SEVERE CORROSION AND RUST OF THE FRAME AND CROSS MEMBER OF THIS VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED AND SERVICED. ON RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET. IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT BUT A COMMON PROBLEM FOR PACIFICA. CHRYSLER HAS SERVICE BULLETINS ADVISING SERVICE PERSONAL TO LOOK FOR THIS PROBLEM. THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL AND AS A RESULT THEY WILL NOT ASSIST IN THE REPAIR OF THIS VEHICLE. I FEEL THAT IT IS A PRODUCT FLAW AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY CHRYSLER. I AM CONTINUOUSLY HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM. IT CONSTANTLY RUNS OUT OF GAS EVEN THOUGH I MAY HAVE RECENTLY PUT GAS IN. THE GAUGE IS ALWAYS FLOATING BETWEEN EMPTY AND FULL, BUT WITHIN DRIVING FOR A FEW MINUTES IT WILL DROP DOWN ON "E" AND THE GAS LIGHT COMES ON. I'VE HAD THE FUEL LINE AND TANK CHECKED FOR BLOCKAGE, BUT THE CERTIFIED MECHANIC SAYS THAT THERE'S NOTHING BLOCKING EITHER. I MUST MAKE FREQUENT STOPS TO PUT GAS IN AGAIN, BUT AT NO TIME WILL IT ALLOW ME TO PUMP MORE THAN $10-$15 WORTH OF GAS (REGARDLESS OF THE GAS PRICES). KNOWING THAT I'VE JUST PUT GAS IN, I'LL CONTINUE TO DRIVE A WHILE, BUT THEN THE CAR WILL BEGIN TO SLOW DOWN BECAUSE IT HAS SHUT DOWN AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT WILL EITHER COME ON OR BE ON. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS OR MAYBE A RECALL THAT EFFECTS MY VEHICLE AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO TO GET HELP ON THIS PROBLEM. *TR
THERE IS A VERY STRONG FUEL SMELL THAT IS SEEPING INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF THE CAR. IT SEEMS TO APPEAR AROUND 40 TO 50 MPH AND IS VERY STRONG IN THE LAST WEEK. AT 125,000 MI THE ABS SENSORS TURNS ON AND OFF CONSTANTLY. WHEN YOU FIRST PRESS THE BRAKES IT DOES NOT GRAB THE ROTORS AND CONTINUES TO NOT STOP UNTIL THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON AND THE BRAKES PERFORM NORMAL. WORKING ON THE CAR NOTICE THE SUBFRAME IS RUSTED THRU ON THS PASSENGER SIDE. THERE ARE MANY ISSUE LOGGED IN ON THE INTERNET WITH THIS PARTICULAR DEFECT. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THERE IS A RECALL FOR CERTAIN VINS. MY VEHICLE WAS BUILT ON AUG 20, 2004. AFTER CONTACTING CHRYSLER THEY SAY THE CAR IS COVERED UNDER A EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000.
TOOK 2005 PACIFICA TO OUR MECHANIC TO CHECK A NOISE IN THE FRONT SUSPENSION COMPONENTS AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRAME CROSS-MEMBER WAS SEVERELY PERFORATED BY RUST AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO FLEXING. THIS CROSS MEMBER SUPPORTS THE ENGINE, TRANSMISSION AND FRONT SUSPENSION COMPONENTS. ON-LINE RESEARCH SHOWS A NUMBER OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FOR THE 2004 AND 2005 MODEL YEARS. MECHANIC CALLED A LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT A RECALL (#13-001-12) WAS ISSUED BY CHRYSLER BUT THAT OUR VEHICLE DID NOT FALL WITHIN THE SPECIFIED DATE RANGE. TOOK PHOTOS OF THE DAMAGE AND ARE AWAITING REPAIR ESTIMATES. WILL CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER HOWEVER OTHERS REPORT THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAS REFUSED TO FIX THIS FAILURE OCCURRING IN VEHICLES BEYOND THE RECALL DATES. *TR

WE CHECKED WITH CHRYSLER IF THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN OR RECALL ON THIS 7 YR OLD CAR AND WERE TOLD NO. WE THEN SEARCHED ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND A LETTER DATED 11/9/10, WRITTEN BY CHRYSLER, TO THE OWNER OF A'04-05 AGE PACIFICA, INFORMING THEM THE WARRANTY PERIOD ON THEIR FRONT ENGINE CRADLE HAD BEEN EXTENDED TO 10 YRS OR 150,000 MILES, WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST. THE WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED TO VEHICLES IN AREAS OF HIGH ROAD SALT USAGE, AS THEY MAY EXPERIENCE ENGINE CRADLE CORROSION RESULTING IN A "DRIVEABILITY VIBRATION AND/OR SHAKE". WE LIVE AND BOUGHT OUR CAR, IN MINNESOTA WHICH IS A STATE OF "HIGH ROAD SALT USAGE" BUT CHYSLER WILL NOT BACK THE WARRANTY EXTENSION TO US BECAUSE THE CAR'S FIRST OWNER WAS IN NEVADA (WE ARE THE 2ND OWNER). WE FEEL THE LETTER WRITTEN BY CHRYLSER CLEARLY SHOWS THEY ARE AWARE AND ADMIT THE ENGINE CRADLE IN THIS CAR IS SUBJECT TO CORROSION BUT THEY WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THE WIRING WAS CLEANED BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE BUMPER DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE POWER SEAT SWITCH WAS NOT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
