DT: THE CONTACT STATED THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT STUCK IN THE RETRACTOR. SHE HAS NOT BEEN USING THE SEAT BELT SINCE THE PROBLEM STARTED. THE CONTACT HAS NOT CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP OR MANUFACTURER. *AK UPDATED 1/23/2006 - THE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED ON 12/16/2005. *NM
ACCELERATOR STICKS IN IDLE POSITION. THE PROBLEM IS CONTINUOUS ONCE ENGINE REACHES OPERATING TEMPERATURE. OCCASIONALLY ACCELERATOR STICKS REQUIRING VERY HEAVY FOOT PRESSURE TO BREAK LOOSE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LURCH FORWARD. *JB
2005 PACIFICA 3569 MILES HAS STALLED 5 TIMES WHEN TURNING LEFT EVERY TIME WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ONCE IT STALLS TWICE IN THE SAME DAY, CAUSING A LOSS OF POWER STEERING.*JB
I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN ACROSS 2 LANES OF TRAFFIC WHEN MY ENGINE STOPPED, POWER STEERING STOPPED, AND THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE DEALER. THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME TO COME BACK WHEN THE PROBLEM WAS MORE PERSISTENT. I HAVE TWO CHILDREN 2 AND UNDER AND TAKING THE CHANCE THAT WE WILL BE IN A COLLISION WHEN THE ENGINE AND POWER STEERING FAIL IS NOT AN OPTION. *JB

THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT POPPING AND CLICKING SOUND WHEN ACCELERATING AND STOPPING. ALSO HAPPENS WHEN MOVING THE GEAR SHIFT. CAR SURGES FORWARD WHEN POPPING SOUND HAPPENS. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY SAID I HAD TO LIVE WITH IT AS IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR THEY CAN NOT FIX. ALSO LEAK ON FLOOR OF DRIVERS SIDE. DEALER WILL NOT HAVE ANY ONE ABLE TO LOOK AT LEAK UNTIL SOMETIME IN JANUARY 2006. *JB
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR THE ENGINE MOUNTS BREAK AWAY FROM THE ENGINE, CAUSING A ROUGH VIBRATION ON THE FLOOR PAN OF THE VEHICLE. THIS PROBLEM STARTED HAPPENING ON 10/31/05, 11/04/05, 10/26/06 TO PRESENT, I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY REPLACE THE ENGINE MOUNTS ON THIS VEHICLE AND I BELIEVE THE BREAKING OF THE MOUNTS AFFECTS THE SUSPENSION OF THE VEHICLE. THE BREAKING OF THE AXLE AND TIE RODS FROM THE PRESSURE OF THE ENGINE JERKING WITH THE MOUNTS BREAK. I'VE BOUGHT ENGINE MOUNTS WITH LIFETIME WARRANTIES BEING I HAVE TO REPLACE THESE MOUNTS SO OFTEN.
VEHICLE ENGINE STALLS WITHOUT ANY WARNING AT ALL. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, ALWAYS WHEN TURNING A TIGHT CORNER. ENGINE STARTS NORMALLY ONCE STOPPED. *NM
WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE ENGINE STALLED ON MY VEHICLE, LEAVING ME STUCK WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC APPROACHING. THIS OCCURRED AT NIGHT AND THE SHUT DOWN CAUSED ALL LIGHTS TO GO OFF, STEERING AND BRAKING WERE REDUCED. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART ONLY AFTER PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK AND TURNING THE KEY TO OFF. THIS FAILURE PUT ME IN A SERIOUSLY UNSAFE POSITION. I HAVE READ REPORTS ONLINE FROM OTHER OWNERS OF THE CHRYSLER PACIFICA EXPERIENCING THIS SAME PROBLEM. I HAD A HALF TANK OF GAS, THE ENGINE WAS WARMED UP AND I MADE NO MANEUVER OUT OF THE ORDINARY. *JB
VEHICLE STALLED WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN. WAS UNABLE TO MAKE LEFT TURN DUE TO POWER STEERING SHUTTING OFF AS WELL AS ENGINE, ENDED UP STALLING IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION. *NM
ON 19 OCTOBER 2005, I HAD JUST COMPLETED A LEFT HAND TURN AND CAME TO A SOMEWHAT ABRUPT STOP AT A STOP LIGHT. AFTER THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I HIT THE GAS BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I NOTICED THAT I LOST MY POWER STEERING FOR THE STEERING WHEEL FELT HEAVY. THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS WERE ON BUT I DID NOT NOTICE ANY WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD. THE CD PLAYER WAS STILL PLAYING NOR DID IT PAUSE WHEN THIS OCCURRED. UNCERTAIN AS TO WHETHER THE CAR WAS OFF OR NOT, I TURNED THE KEY TO THE "OFF" POSITION AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE OPERATED PROPERLY AFTER THE INCIDENT. HOWEVER, I BECAME CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGHER SPEEDS FEARING THAT IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN. *JB
ENGINE STALL WHILE PERFORMING TURNS. MY WIFE HAS BEEN CLOSE TO BE INVOLVE IN AN ACCIDENT IN THE LAST COUPLE TIMES. THE DEALER SAYS THEY CAN NOT DO NOTHING UNTIL CHRYSLER INVESTIGATES THE PROBLEM. MAYBE CHRYSLER IS WAITING UNTIL SOMEONE GETS INVOLVE IN AN ACCIDENT TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. *NM
ON THE CHRYSLER PACIFICA 2005 MODEL, WHEN THE GAS IS BELOW HALF A TANK, WHEN STOPPING OR MAKING TURNS THE ENGINE WILL STALL. THIS IS VERY HAZARDOUS AS WHEN THE ENGINE STOPS THERE IS NO POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES. I WAS WITHIN INCHES OF HITTING ANOTHER CAR. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, BUT NO SOLUTION. I BELIEVE THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED AS THE NUMBER OF ACCIDENTS THIS CAN LEAD TO IS LARGE, ESPECIALLY FOR SMALLER PEOPLE THAT MAY NOT BE ABLE TO MUSCLE THE STEERING WHEN THE CAR STALLS. PLEASE GET CHRYSLER TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AS IT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVE MY NEW EXPENSIVE CAR UNTIL THIS IS TAKEN CARE OF. *JB
DT: THE CONTACT STATED VEHICLE STALLED TWICE. SHE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. AFTER TWO ATTEMPTS THE DEALER WAS UNSUCCESSFUL IN LOCATING THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. *AK
WHEN TURNING CORNERS MY 2005 PACIFICA WILL OCCASIONALLY STALL CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO LOCK AND ALL SYSTEMS TO FAIL. I HAVE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE ANY PROBLEM. THE 1ST TIME, THEY DIDN'T FIND A PROBLEM IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. THE 2ND TIME, THEY FOUND A PROBLEM IN THE FUEL PUMP. THEY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP. THE 3RD TIME, THEY TOLD US THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS NOR COULD THEY REPLICATE THE STALL. MY WIFE DRIVES THIS CAR TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY WITH MY 2 KIDS. SHE NARROWLY AVOIDED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WHEN THE CAR STALLED THIS LAST TIME. I WILL BE FILING FOR THE SC LEMON LAW. *JB
ON THE FIRST DAY OF OWNING OUR PACIFICA THE FUEL GAUGE DROPPED DOWN FROM ABOUT A 1/2 TANK TO LESS THAN A 1/4 TANK AND ALMOST STALLED ON US TWICE. FUELING THE CAR BACK UP WITH JUST A FEW DOLLARS PUT THE GAS GAUGE BACK PAST THE 1/2 WAY MARK WHICH THERE'S OBVIOUSLY NO WAY THIS COULD HAPPEN. SINCE THAT NIGHT, THE CAR HAS SUBSEQUENTLY STALLED TWICE WHILE EXHIBITING THE SAME PROBLEM OF THE GAS GAUGE DROPPING DOWN TO ALMOST EMPTY. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN, WHAT IF THIS CAR STALLS IN AN INTERSECTION ETC... THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT. *NM
MY 2005 CRHYSLER PACIFICA IS HAVING BIG SAFETY HAZARD PROBLEMS WHEN I COMPLETELY TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT AT A CERTAIN SPEED THE CAR SHUTS OFF. THAT HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES SO FAR. WHEN I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAY THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THIS IS A DEADLY SAFETY HAZARD. *JB
DT: THE CONTACT BOUGHT A NEW 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. AFTER 20 DAYS OF DRIVING IT WAS ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET WHERE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. THERE WAS NO CURRENT TO THE BATTERY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE MECHANIC, AND THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT. THEN THEY CALLED CHRYSLER, AND THEY TOLD HIM THAT THE PROBLEM HAPPENED BECAUSE THE GAS TANK DROPPED BELOW HALF FULL. ALSO, THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD BE WORKING ON THIS PROBLEM IN JANUARY OR FEBRUARY 2006.*AK
2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA STALLS AND ALSO PUTS ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING OR AFTER STOPPING AND STARTING AGAIN. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER WHO SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. THIS AFTERNOON ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK ON THE HIGHWAY IT WENT INTO NEUTRAL AGAIN (NOT THE SHIFT ITSELF BUT THE ENGINE REVVED UP AND THEN JUMPED OR SHOULD I SAY BANGED BACK INTO THE CORRECT GEAR). THEN LATER IN THE EVENING I HAD A PROBLEM STARTING IT ON MY WAY TO MY DAUGHTERS SOCCER GAME. IT ALSO ACTED LIKE IT WANTED TO STALL THE WHOLE WAY THERE AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED WHEN WE WENT TO LEAVE THE GAME 1 HOUR LATER. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS NOT ONLY FOR ME BUT ALSO FOR MY 7 YEAR OLD AND 6 MONTH OLD DRIVING WITH ME 90% OF THE TIME. *JB
PURCHASED THE CAR SIX WEEKS AGO AND IT HAS 2,500 MILES ON IT. I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN ONTO A BUSY EXIT ENTERING A MAJOR HIGHWAY (ROUTE 1N) AND THE CAR STALLED AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. I HAVE A FOUR YEAR OLD AND A TWO YEAR OLD. THANK GOD THEY WERE NOT IN THE CAR WITH ME. NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED. THE DEALER APPOINTMENT IS IN FIVE DAYS AT WHICH THEY WILL TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH ME TO TRY TO RECREATE THE SITUATION. *JB
DT: THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD ON OCTOBER 4, 2005 WENT TO HIT THE BRAKES AND PUSHED THE PEDAL AS FAR AS IT WOULD GO, HAD NO BRAKES. HAD TO SWERVE OUT OF THE WAY TO GET OUT OF THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. HAD TO PUT ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CAR WAS 6 MONTHS OLD. IT WAS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED. 4 SENSORS ON CAR, 2 OUT OF 4 SENSORS TORE. THE CONTACT TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND THE DEALER DID FIX THE VEHICLE WHICH WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. NO POLICE REPORTS. NO CRASHES. *AK
SINCE OF OCTOBER OF 2005 MY CHRYSLER PACIFICA 2005 TOURING HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES. ONE PARTICULAR INCIDENT I REMEMBER IS WHEN I WAS MAKE A PERMISSIBLE U-TURN AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. FORTUNATELY FOR ME THERE WAS NOT ON-COMING TRAFFIC AND I PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE IGNITION. THE STALL ISSUES COMPLETE POWER FAILURE IN THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINE IS VERY LOUD AT LOW SPEEDS AND IDLES. CURRENTLY THE FUEL GAUGE IS READING INCORRECTLY. ACCORDING TO EPA ESTIMATES MILES ON A TANK IS 393 MILES, THE GAUGE READS 301-312. ALSO, THE VEHICLE AROUND NOVEMBER STARTED TO EXPERIENCE DIFFICULT COLD STARTS. INITIALLY I ATTRIBUTED THAT TO COLD WEATHER, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM HAS BECOME PERSISTENT. THE WAS AN ACCIDENT IN JANUARY 2006 WITH MY WIFE AT THE WHEEL BUT I HAS YET TO BE DETERMINED IF IT WAS DUE TO VEHICULAR OR DRIVER ERROR. WHILE I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL AUTO MECHANIC OR ASE CERTIFIED, MY OPINION IS THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLES INTAKE AND POSSIBLY A MISFIRE OF THE PISTONS. I HAVE SUBMITTED THE VEHICLE TO A CHRYSLER FACILITY FOR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER REPLACED ALL THE ABS SENSORS, HOWEVER, THE LIGHT CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE BRAKES SCREECHED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
WHEN I TURN ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT. I HEAR A CLICKING NOISE IN THE RIGHT SIDE FRONT END (TRANSFER CASE PROBLEM). *JB
LAST SEPT MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED A SLIGHTLY USED 05 PACIFICA. ONE WEEK LATER MY WIFE EXPERIENCED THE FIRST STALL WHILE TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND FOUND THAT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND CHRYSLER WOULD HAVE A SOLUTION BY DEC 05. WE HAVE SINCE HAD AROUND 7 STALLING ISSUES WITH THIS MODEL, USUALLY TURNING AT LOW SPEED OR BACKING UP. AFTER SEVERAL CALLS TO CHRYSLER AND THE DEALERSHIP, WE STILL HAVE NO ANSWERS. THE DEALER IS TRYING TO WASH THEIR HANDS OF THE PROBLEM AND CONTINUES TO DIRECT ME TO THE MANUFACTURER. CHRYSLER WILL NOT ADMIT TO KNOWING THE PROBLEM EXISTS. I HAVE A PREGNANT WIFE AND A FIVE YEAR OLD RIDING IN THIS VEHICLE AND I'M CONCERNED THAT THIS STALLING PROBLEM WILL OCCUR WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC AND COULD POTENTIALLY BE HARMFUL TO MY FAMILY. *NM
THREE TIMES DURING THE LAST 4 MONTHS THE ENGINE HAS SHUT DOWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I AM ALWAYS DRIVING SLOW, WITH MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN. *JB
DT CONTACT STATED TWO TIRES BLEW OUT. THE FIRST TIRE WAS THE DRIVERS REAR TIRE, AND THE SECOND TIRE WAS THE PASSENGER'S REAR TIRE. THE TIRES WERE REGULARLY SERVICED. THE CONTACT'SX HUSBAND BURNED HIS ARM GETTING THE SPARE TIRE FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. SHE CONTACTED THE DEALER, THEY REFERRED HER TO THE TIRE MANUFACTURER. THERE WAS SOME TYPE OF BLACK POWER INSIDE OF THE TIRES. SHE CONTACTED BRIDGESTONE, AND THEY OFFERED HER NO ASSISTANCE.*AK
STALLS WHEN MAKING LEFT TURN. HAVE TAKEN TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM NOR FIND A COMPUTER ERROR CODE. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM WHICH PERSISTS. *JB
MY PROBLEMS BEGAN ON 10/03/05 @ 2,826 MILES. SINCE THAT TIME THERE HAVE BEEN A LITANY OF PROBLEMS THROUGH EIGHTEEN MONTHS. WHEEL SENSORS -6 WERE REPLACED. FRONT END NOISE LIKE A RUBBING SOUND. RETURNED TO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. ACCELERATOR STICKING. RETURNED TO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES EACH TIME THEY LUBRICATED THE LINKAGE BUT AFTER TWO WEEKS THE PROBLEM CONTINUED. AT THIS POINT NOTHING ELSE WAS DONE CONCERNING THE ACCELERATOR. NEXT, PROBLEM A DEFECTIVE AXLE, REPLACED. POWER MODULE REPLACED. DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK AND CAR WOULD NOT START AFTER INSTALLATION OF THE POWER MODULE. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER. IT WAS REPAIRED. PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY FELL APART IN THE REAR BRAKES AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY REPLACED BY THE DEALER. FRONT END VIBRATION AGAIN BROUGHT TO DEALERS ATTENTION. ANOTHER WHEEL SENSOR REPLACED. ON 5/24/07 BROUGHT MY PACIFICA BACK TO THE DEALER CONCERNING THE FRONT END NOISE. THEY REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP ON 5/30/07. ON 6/04/07 RETURNED TO THE DEALER NOISE IN FRONT END STILL THERE. ALSO, THE ACCELERATOR STILL STICKS. CONCERNING THE FRONT END NOISE, THEY SAID THAT A POWER STEERING LINE WAS LEAKING AND THEY REPAIRED IT. THE ACCELERATOR BUTTERFLY WAS FINALLY REPLACED AFTER OVER A YEAR OF COMPLAINTS. ON 6/08/07 I RETURNED THE CAR BECAUSE OF THE SAME NOISE IN THE FRONT END EVERY TIME YOU TURN LEFT OR RIGHT. AT THIS POINT THEY DECIDED TO REPLACE THE STEERING RACK. I PICKED UP THE CAR ON 6/14/07 THE VIBRATION RUBBING NOISE WAS STILL THERE. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER ON 6/15/07. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX THE CAR AND TO TAKE THE CAR HOME AND WAIT FOR CHRYSLER TO CALL. IT HAS NOW BEEN 6 WEEKS AND THEY HAVE NOT CALLED. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR UP DATES , THEY SAY THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY INFORMATION. CHRYSLER'S LETTER, DATED 6/26/07 STATES, " WE CONSIDER THIS MATTER CLOSED," EVEN THOUGH THE CAR HAS STILL NOT BEEN REPAIRED. *TR
THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED FOUR TIMES IN THE LAST FIVE MONTHS WHILE TURNING OR GOING AROUND A BEND IN THE ROAD. FUEL LEVELS AT THE TIME IT STALLS ARE VARIED. WE NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE COULD POTENTIALLY STALL AND CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. DEALER SERVICE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT MULTIPLE PACIFICAS HAVE BEEN BROUGHT IN FOR THIS ISSUE BUT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO SINCE CHRYSLER HAD NOT ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM AND HAD NO FIX. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR ANY VEHICLE REGARDLESS OF PRICE. *JB
I AM HAVING OCCASIONAL STALLING PROBLEMS WHEN MANEUVERING MY CHRYSLER PACIFICA '05 AT SLOW SPEEDS. THE CAR SIMPLY STALLS, CAUSING ME TO LOSE ALL POWER STEERING AND BRAKING ABILITIES. I WAS NEARLY REAR-ENDED ON ONE OCCASION. WITH 2,500 MILES ON THE CAR, IT IS NOW IN THE SHOP FOR THE FOURTH TIME. THE IDLE AIR CONTROL MOTOR WAS REPLACED AND THAT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I AM CURRENTLY WAITING FOR A NEW SET OF FUEL PUMPS (RECOMMENDED BY CHRYSLER ENGINEERING), BUT AFTER READING MANY FORUMS ON SITES LIKE WWW.EZBOARD.COM AND WWW.EDMUNDS.COM, I AM LESS THAN HOPEFUL OF CHRYSLER FINDING A SOLUTION AND WILL BE PURSING THE LEMON LAW IF THEY CAN NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM THIS LAST TIME. I WILL NOT DRIVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE AND CHRYSLER IS NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THE PROBLEM AT ALL, DESPITE THE MANY COMPLAINTS I SEE ONLINE DAILY. *JB
THIS IS THE 3RD INCIDENT IN WHICH WHILE DRIVING THE CAR POWER HAS BEEN LOST TO MY 2005 PACIIFICA. IN ALL INSTANCES THE DASH WOULD GO OUT AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT REV AND THE OIL LIGHT WOULD COME ON. THIS LAST TIME ON 09/07/05 THE ENGINE LOST POWER AS WELL. A LITTLE TOUGH TO SWALLOW WHEN IT IS YOUR WIFE AND 3 YEAR OLD IN THE CAR. HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER FOR ALL THREE PROBLEMS AND NO RESOLUTION AS WELL AS NO REGISTRATION OF PROBLEMS IN THE COMPUTER. MY ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED AND I PURSUING OHIO LEMON LAW OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH COULD OCCUR. *NM
DT: CONTACT STATES HE OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED . THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SERVICE DEALER, BUT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP WAS GOING TO HAVE TO REPLACE THE ABS SENSOR. THE DEALERSHIP CONSULTED THE MANUFACTURER TO SEE IF THE PART WAS AVAILABLE, BUT IT WAS NOT. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE.*AK
DT: NOTICED ON SEPTEMBER 1, 2005 THAT THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OF VEHICLE WAS HIGHER THAN THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO PULL TO DRIVER'S SIDE. THE DEALERSHIP CHECKED THE VEHICLE. THEY MEASURED AND COMPARED IT TO A FLOOR MODEL, AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE SAME SIZE. THEN, HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED AT A LOCAL MECHANIC, AND THEY MEASURED IT, AND DETERMINED IT WAS AN INCH HIGHER ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE. CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND THEY ADVISED THE CONSUMER TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH THE DEALER . BUT WHEN THE CONSUMER CALLED THE DEALER THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. *AK
BRAND NEW 2005 PACIFICA WITH 140 MILES AND AGAIN AT 612 MILES. ENGINE STALLED AT LOW SPEEDS TURNING INTO EITHER PARKING SPACE OR PARKING LOT. PUT IN PARK AND RE-STARTED. COULD NOT IMMEDIATELY DUPLICATE. AFTER FIRST INCIDENT SERVICE MANAGER AT DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE CAR WAS "LEARNING" MY DRIVING STYLE. SAID IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN TO CALL BACK AND SCHEDULE SERVICE CALL. WILL BE ON THE PHONE WITH SERVICE MANAGER TOMORROW. *JB
DT: THE CONSUMER OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE VEHICLE STALLED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE DECELERATING AND BRAKING. THERE WAS NO PRIOR WARNING BEFORE THIS INCIDENT. THE CONSUMER PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED PROPERLY. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE HAS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WHERE NO CODES SHOWN. THEREFORE, THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE VEHICLE. SHE WAS SCARED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE SHE HAD THREE CHILDREN. THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 3000 MILES ON IT. SHE WAS TRAVELING 55 MPH BEFORE SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A TURN. *AK *JB
CAR STALLED WHILE ACCELERATING AFTER IDLING AT STOP LIGHT. *NM
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE ABS LIGHT WOULD INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL . THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THE ANTI LOCK BRAKE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED, THE FAILURE OCCURRED A SECOND TIME. THE ANTI LOCK BRAKE SENSOR AND THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AFTER THE REPAIRS AND THE ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,480.
MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACFICA STALLED IN THE PARKING LOT OF MY FRIENDS HOUSE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. THE CAR IS BRAND NEW (GOT IT IN MAY) AND THERE IS ONLY ~5000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. BOTH TIMES THE CAR STALLED AT LOW SPEEDS (PARKING LOTS) WHILE TURNING, AND MY FOOT WAS NOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. FIRST THING I NOTICED WAS THE POWER STEERING WAS OUT, THEN EVENTUALLY NOTICED THE CAR WAS NOT RUNNING (STALLED). SAW A RECALL ON 04 PACIFICAS FOR A SIMILAR PROBLEM, BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT AT AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. BROUGHT IT IN A SECOND TIME AND THEY MADE AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE THROTTLE. *JB
THE PASSENGER SIDE AND DRIVER SIDE LOWER CONTROL ARMS HAVE BOTH BEEN REPLACED WITHIN ONE MONTH OF EACH OTHER. CAR STILL SHIMMIES AND STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES ON SPEEDS OVER 50 MPH. I THOUGHT THAT BY REPLACING THE LCA'S IT WOULD RESOLVE THIS ISSUE, BUT NOW I FEEL LESS SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY. CALLED CHRYSLER, E-MAILED CHRYSLER NUMEROUS TIMES REGARDING THIS VEHICLE. ASKED THAT IT BE REPLACED UNDER THE LEMON LAW OR SHAKEN FAITH DOCTRINE, BUT AS OF NOW, NO OFFER OF REPLACEMENT. HAD THIS VEHICLE 86 DAYS, AND IT HAS BEEN OUT OF SERVICE FOR 26 OF THEM/ 30% PLUS OF THE TIME. HAVE ALREADY FILED 3 PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS WITH NHTSA.*AK
I OWN 05 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING, VEHICLE STOP RUNNING WHEN I MAKE LEFT TURN, IT HAPPEN TWICE, I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER BUT DEALER CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG I TOOK IT SERIOUSLY, BECAUSE IMPACT COULD HAPPEN FROM THE BACK WHILE I TRY TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AGAIN. DT: ON 8-6-05, THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. THERE WAS A FUSE IN THE INCORRECT SPOT. THE DEALERSHIP FIXED THE FUSE PROBLEM. ON 8-12-05 THE STEERING WHEEL FROZE AND THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF. THE CONSUMER WAS IN TRAFFIC WHEN THIS OCCURRED, BUT THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. HE WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO START BACK AND DROVE IT HOME. HE HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER, AND THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER GOT THE VEHICLE BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND HE HAS NOT DRIVEN IT SINCE. HE DOES NOT FEEL THAT THE VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE. *AK
ON THREE OCCASIONS, WHILE SLOWING DOWN AND TURNING, EITHER INTO PARKING SPOTS OR PARKING LOTS, THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE ENGINE DIED, BUT NOT SURE BECAUSE ALL THREE TIMES WE IMMEDIATELY PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND TURNED THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION. ONCE THE CAR WAS RESTARTED, THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER TWICE, BOTH TIMES WE WERE TOLD THAT NO CODES WERE STORED IN THE COMPUTER. BOTH TIMES WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *JB
I BOUGHT A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IN JULY 2005, AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG TURNS ON AND OFF RANDOMLY WITH MY WIFE IN THE FRONT SEAT. SHE WEIGHS 100 LBS. CHRYSLER HAS CHECKED OUT THE SEAT, AND CHRYSLER SAYS IT IS NORMAL, GIVEN MY WIFE'S LIGHT WEIGHT. CHRYSLER SAYS THAT THE AIRBAG SHUT OFF IS FOR MY WIFE'S PROTECTION. HOWEVER, SHE DOES NOT CHANGE HER SEATING POSITION TO CAUSE THE AIRBAG TO TURN OFF. I CAN'T SEE HOW THIS AIRBAG CAN BE CHARACTERIZED AS NORMAL IF HALF THE TIME MY WIFE IS PROTECTED AND HALF THE TIME SHE IS NOT. IN WHICH MODE IS MY WIFE SAFEST? SHE EITHER IS SAFE OR SHE IS NOT SAFE, BUT CHRYSLER CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. I THINK THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SYSTEM IN THE PACIFICA, AND CHRYSLER IS NOT MAKING ANY CHANGE TO THIS.
STICKING GAS PEDAL ON 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFIC. *TR
AFTER HAVING MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA A FEW DAYS I DISCOVERED THE 2ND ROW SEAT BELT WAS NOT CONNECTED AT THE BASE OF THE DOOR PILLAR. THE NUT WAS MISSING INSIDE THE PILLAR. A MONTH LATER IT IS STILL NOT CORRECTED BECAUSE THE DEALER NEEDS A TEC SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS HOW TO CUT THE PILLAR TO RE-WELD THE BRACKET SO THE BOLT CAN BE CONNECTED TO SECURE THE SEAT BELT. MY COMPLAINT IS THE CAR SHOULD HAVE NEVER LEFT THE FACTORY THAT WAY. CHRYSLER ADVERTISING ALL THEIR 5 STAR RATINGS AND CAN'T EVEN SECURE THE SEAT BELT. *JB

THE VEHICLE QUIT RUNNING DURING A LEFT HAND TURN AND IT WENT INTO AN ELECTRONIC LOCK MODE. DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT VEHICLE AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE STALLED ONCE. OTHER VEHICLES IN FLEET HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. QUIT AT HIGHWAY SPEED ON THE INTERSTATE. THE COMPANY DID NOT KNOW THAT THE FATHER OF THE DRIVER WAS FILING A COMPLAINT. WHEN TRYING TO LOCK THE CAR WITH THE REMOTE IT WOULD NOT LOCK. WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE DASH BOARD WAS LOCKED. AFTER ABOUT 20-30 MINUTES THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO RESET AND WORKED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER SUGGESTED THEY REPROGRAM THE VEHICLE AND THIS PROBLEM WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. *AK *NM

WHILE TRAVELING NORTH ON I-5, AT CORONA, CA, ON 23 JULY 05, AT 70 MPH, THE ENGINE ON MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA, QUIT. ALL POWER SUDDENLY CEASED EFFECTING THE STEERING AND BRAKES. I WAS ABLE TO GUIDE THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE BUSY HIGHWAY. ELEVEN DAYS LATER, A FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED AND THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. *NM
