THIS IS MY SECOND, POSSIBLY THIRD TIME REPORTING A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM WITH THIS VAN. I HAVE LOST POWER WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE MULTIPLE TIMES. TODAY I LOST POWER WHILE ACCELERATING, THE VEHICLE REVVED AND RPM WENT UP TO ABOUT 6000, NO POWER WAS GOING TO THE ENGINE AND I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE, THEN FULL POWER WENT TO ENGINE AND THE VAN LUNGED FORWARD AND GAINED SPEED. THE ACC CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT ALSO WENT ON. I DID NOT LOSE POWER STEERING AND I AM NOT SURE IF THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. DUE TO SO MANY PROBLEMS OCCURRING WHILE DRIVING, I FREQUENTLY RECORD MY DRIVES- I WAS ABLE TO CAPTURE THIS ON VIDEO. THE VIDEO ONLY SHOWS MY DASH AND DOES NOT DO IT JUSTICE, BUT SHOWS THE RPM, VEHICLE SPEED SLOWING, AND THEN ACCELERATING. I HAVE A FEW MORE VIDEOS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS, BUT THIS IS ONE OF THE FEW THAT I WAS ABLE TO CAPTURE. MY CHILDREN ARE AFRAID OF RIDING IN THIS CAR, WE HAVE HAS ISSUE AFTER ISSUE AND SIMPLY WANT TO BE SAFE WHILE DRIVING.
STARTED TO PULL ONTO WILLIARD NORRIS ROAD IN MILTON FLORIDA, WHEN I DEPRESSED FOOT PEDAL TO ACCELERATE NOTHING HAPPENED FOR 2-4 SECONDS AND TRANSMISSION KICKED IN TO GEAR VIOLENTLY @ 14 MPH, AND AGAIN AT 32 MPH. LOG TRUCK WAS BEHIND ME WHEN IT OCCURRED. CONTACTED DEALER AND TOOK FOR REPAIR .COULD NOT FIND ISSUES ON COMPUTER SYSTEMS. HAS HAPPENED FOR PAST 6 MONTHS, BUT TODAY WAS LIFE ENDANGERING AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE OPERATING VEHICLE
WHILE DRIVING VAN EXPERIENCES A HARD SHIFT INTO 2ND GEAR. THIS CAUSES A LOSE OF POWER AND THE A JERK. I HAVE ALMOST GOTTEN HIT FROM BEHIND. THIS CAN HAPPEN ON THE ROAD, PARKING LOT AND GETTING ON INTERSTATE. VAN HAS BEEN IAT DEALER FOR ABOUT A MONTH, JUST RETURNED TO ME. CHRYSLER IS SAYING THIS IS A NORMAL CONDITION. COMPLETELY NOT SAFE TO DRIVE TO ME OR MY FAMILY. THIS HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR SAME PROBLEM SINCE MARCH. ON MY WAY HOME FROM DEALER IT HAPPENED TWO MORE TIMES.
THIRD POST OF SAME COMPLAINT. COMING FROM TURNS OR WHEN SHIFTING IN LOW SPEED, THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY STALLS UPON ACCELERATION THEN SLAMS INTO GEAR, CAUSING THE ENTIRE VEHICLE TO JOLT. HAVE TAKEN VAN TO ORIGINAL PURCHASING DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES (10+) IN THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF, AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THEY CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM. THIS CATEGORY HAS THE MOST COMPLAINTS ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE ALL OF VERY SIMILAR ISSUE ' SOMETHING MUST BE DONE FROM CHRYSLER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. AFTER COASTING TO A STOP, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND OPERATED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SARASOTA SUNSHINE CHRYSLER(7745 S. TAMIAMI TRAIL, SARASOTA, FL) WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
WHEN ACCELERATING THE VAN JERKS THEN PICKS UP MORE SPEED. SOMETIMES WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL FROM PARK IT TAKES A WHILE TO START MOVING. THE SHIFTER GETS SUCK AND THE DOESNT GET OFF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE.
WE HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH OUR 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE FIRST ISSUE IS WHEN WE ACCELERATE BETWEEN 10 AND 20 MPH OUR VEHICLE REVS UP AND JERKS REALLY BAD. LITERALLY FEELS LIKE YOU HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED. IT IS LIKE THE GEAR IS SLIPPING OR IT CAN'T FIND THE NEXT YEAR TO GO INTO. ANOTHER ISSUE WE ARE HAVING IS WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR. I USUALLY HAVE TO TRY TO SHUT IT MULTIPLE TIMES FOR IT TO STAY SHUT. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS I HAVE HAD TO HIT THE BUTTON 3-4 TIMES FOR IT TO STOP POPPING BACK OPEN. THE LAST ISSUE IS OUR START/STOP FEATURE. IT HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING AND IT SHOWS A CODE ON THE DASH. THESE ARE ALL ISSUES WE HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH FOR MONTHS.
WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED THE AUTO DOOR BUTTON FAILED TO CLOSE THE SLIDING DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. WHEN MANUALLY TRYING TO CLOSE THE SLIDING DOOR THE DOOR FELL OFF THE VEHICLE SMASHING THE REAR WINDOW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING TOWARDS THE SUN, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO LOWER THE SUN VISOR; HOWEVER, THE SUPPORT SCREW FOR THE SUN VISOR BECAME LOOSE AND DISLODGED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS VISION BECAME OBSTRUCTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LAKELAND CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 2875 MALL HILL DR, LAKELAND, FL 33810, (863) 687-2501) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SCREW HOLE WAS STRIPPED, WHICH CAUSED THE FAILURE. A NEW VISOR SCREW WAS INSTALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000.
TAKARA RECALL. I WENT TO TURN MY VEHICAL ON AND THE SCREEN WOULDN'T. I THOUGHT IT COULD BE SCREEN OFF BUTTON BUT IT WASN'T. I THEN TOOK MY CAR INTO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THE STEREO IS HEATING UP TO 180 DEGREES. WHICH IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD BE HAPPENING IN A YEAR OLD CAR.
VEHICLE SHUT OFF ON MY 7 TIMES ALREADY 2 ON HIGHWAY AND 5 ON STREETS. 2 ON HIGHWAY WAS DRIVING AROUND 65 MPH WHEN DASH WENT OFF ALL LIGHTS WENT OFF NO POWER STEERING OR HAZARD LIGHT FUNCTION. HAD TO PULL OVER TO MEDIAN AT A COMPLETE STOP. THE OTHERS WERE VARIANT FROM COMING TO A STOP ALL THE LIGHTS SHUT OFF THE GAUGE NEEDLES WENT CRAZY. AND THE OTHERS WERE DRIVING AT LOWER SPEEDS. THE WORSE IS TRYING TO MUSCLE ONTO A PARKING LOT OR MEDIAN WITH NO POWER STEERING OR LIGHTS
ON MULTIPLE OCASIONS, THE ENGINE SHUTOFF FEATURE SHUT OFF JUST AS I WAS TRYING TO TURN LEFT ON A BUSY STREET. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO PULL ABOUT TEN FEET INTO TRAFFIC AND THEN IT STALLES FOR AN UNSAFELY LONG DELAY BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD GET OUT OF TRAFFIC. IT IS A PROBLEM WHEN IS DECIDES TO SHUT THE ENGINE OFF JUST AS I DECIDE TO TURN LEFT. IT CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO STALL AND THEN LURCH AS IT TRIED TO COME BACK ON. I USUALLY REMEMBER TO SHUT THIS FEATURE OFF BUT IT ALWAYS COMES BACK ON EVERY TIME YOU RESTART THE VEHICLE. KEN GARF CHYSTLER DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO HAVE THIS FEATURE TURNED OFF BY DEFAULT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS ENGINE SHUTOFF FEATURE INTENDED TO SAVE SOME FUEL. I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH FUEL IT SAVES IF IT CAUSES AN ACCIDENT! THE AI FOR THIS NEEDS REFINEMENT AND IT NEEDS TO BE DISABLED WHEN LEFT TURN SIGNAL IS ENGAGED SO THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN.
AFTER TAKING MY VAN, INTO THE SHOP, THIS MORNING, FOR A REPEAT COMPLAINT OF HARD SHIFTING (FEELS LIKE I'M BEING REAR-ENDED), AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 17-20 MPH, AND DRIVING THE SERVICE TECH AROUND, FOR 30 MINUTES, IN A FAILED ATTEMPT TO TRY TO GET THE VAN TO REPLICATE THE HARD SHIFT, WHILE THE TECH WAS NEXT TO ME, MY VAN SHIFTED HARD, ON MY WAY BACK INTO WORK, WHILE I WAS IN TRAFFIC, ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAD STOPPED AT A LIGHT, BEHIND SEVERAL CARS, IN TRAFFIC. I WAS TOLD, AT THE SHOP, THAT SINCE THE TECH WAS NOT ABLE TO EXPERIENCE IT, HIMSELF, THEY WOULD NOT EVEN TRY TO DIAGNOSE OR FIGURE OUT THE CAUSE, AT THIS POINT IN TIME. I ASKED THEM IF THEY COULD CHECK THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY. THEY SAID THEY EASILY COULD BUT DID NOT, AT THIS TIME, BECAUSE THEY'VE NOT FELT THE HARD-SHIFT THEMSELVES. I GAVE THE SHOP THE NAME OF ANOTHER CUSTOMER WHO HAS EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM, WITH HER VAN, IN TROY, MICHIGAN, WAS GIVEN THE SAME 'UPDATES,' FOR HER VAN, AT SUBURBAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF TROY THAT WERE SUPPOSE TO FIX THE PROBLEM (BUT DID NOT) AND GAVE THEM THE SOLUTION (TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY REPLACEMENT) SHE STATED HAD FIXED, FOR NOW (HER VAN WAS FIXED IN JULY'18 AND HASN'T EXPERIENCED A HARD-SHIFT SINCE) HER ISSUE. I GAVE THEM THE NAME AND NUMBER OF THE DEALERSHIP THAT HAD SERVICED HER CAR. THEY DID NOT WANT THE INFORMATION AND TOLD ME THEY WORK THROUGH CHRYSLER ONLY. CHRYSLER KNOWS THE PROBLEM EXISTS, AS THE LADY WHO TOLD ME ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY GOT THAT SOLUTION FROM A FRIEND, OF HERS, WHO WORKS AT CHRYSLER CORPORATE.
POWER STEERING FAILING COMPLETELY. STARTED INTERMITTENTLY AND WAS FIRST ADVISED THAT A 'LOW BATTERY' CAUSED A POWER SPIKE IN THE POWER STEERING UNIT AND THEY CHARGED THE BATTERY. THEN IT HAPPENED MORE FREQUENT AND THEY DIAGNOSED IT TO THE POWER STEERING UNIT ITSELF WHICH TOOK A WEEK TO REPLACE. THEN TWO DAYS LATER THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE ENTERING A 90 DEGREE CURVE AT 35 MPH. AFTERWARDS I COULD SIT IDLING, WATCHING THE VOLTAGE WANDER BETWEEN 11 VOLTS AND 15 VOLTS, AND HAVE POWER STEERING, BUT AS SOON AS I TURNED ON THE HEADLIGHTS OR FOGLIGHTS OR PUT IT IN GEAR, THE VOLTAGE WOULD STABILIZE AT 14.6-14.8 VOLTS AND THE POWER STEERING WOULD TURN OFF. IT'S BEEN A WEEK AND THEY JUST CONTACTED CHRYSLER. I'M AT 15 DAYS IN THE SHOP BETWEEN FAILED SECONDARY BATTERY, AND A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE POWER STEERING AND NO END IN SITE. WHEN THE POWER STEERING FAILS, THERE IS PRACTICALLY NO WAY TO TURN THE VEHICLE UNLESS YOU HAVE SIGNIFICANT STRENGTH IN THE ARMS. A NORMAL SIZED WOMAN WOULD ONLY HAVE ONE RECOURSE AND THAT IS TO STOP ABRUPTLY. THIS WILL LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. WHEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT ON ME AT 35 MPH, I HAD NO ABILITY TO ABRUPTLY STOP AS I HAD A CAR IMMEDIATELY BEHIND ME. THAT WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN BEING REAR ENDED. IF I HADN'T BEEN ABLE TO STEER IT BY SHEER BRUTE FORCE, WE WOULD HAVE CRASHED INTO THE TREES ALONG THE ROAD. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THE POWER STEERING WOULD FAIL WHILE SITTING STILL, MUCH LESS DRIVING LIKE IT DID WHEN IT FIRST STARTED. I HAVE VIDEO OF THE POWER STEERING GOING IN AND OUT WHILE SITTING IN THE DRIVE WAY.
IN JULY I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR DOWN SHIFTING ISSUES AND THE COULDN'T FIND A PROBLEM WHEN RUNNING A SYSTEM CHECK. PROBLEM CONTINUED AND 2 WEEKS AGO TOOK IT IN AGAIN FOR SHIFTING ISSUES. NOW EXPERIENCE SUSPENSION POPPING A NOISY SOUND. I'M TIRED OF HAVING A BRAND NEW VEHICLE WITH UNDER 30,000 MILES HAVING SO MANY PROBLEMS. WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?
THE VEHICLE'S STOP/START SYSTEM SHUT DOWN THE CAR UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE THE CAR WAS IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING A LEFT TURN AND COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. IT WAS FIXED, THEN A FEW MONTHS LATER IT WAS UNDER A SEPARATE RECALL. RECENTLY THE SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED AGAIN AND AGAIN DOES NOT WORK.
MY VAN WILL JERK, VIOLENTLY, WHILE I'M TRYING TO ACCELERATE. WHEN I SAY "VIOLENTLY," I MEAN WHEN IT JERKS, IT FEELS LIKE I'VE BEEN REAR-ENDED. IT HAPPENS WHEN I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND THEN TRY TO ACCELERATE. IT HAPPENS WHEN I'M DRIVING UNDER TWENTY MILES AN HOUR AND THEN TRY TO ACCELERATE. IT HAPPENED SO VIOLENTLY, A WHILE BACK, THAT THE VAN SEEMED TO STALL AND I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED, BY A PICK-UP TRUCK, WHEN I PULLED OUT ONTO A HIGHWAY. THIS PROMPTED ME TO TAKE IT TO THE SHOP ON OCTOBER 29TH. THEY KEPT IT UNTIL NOVEMBER 2ND. THEY UPDATED THE COMPUTER'S PROGRAM AND SAID THAT SEEMED TO FIX THE ISSUE. HOWEVER, IT IS NOW JERKING AGAIN. IT HAPPENED TWICE, YESTERDAY, AS I WAS TURNING AND THEN TRIED TO ACCELERATE. IT THEN HAPPENED ONCE, TODAY, AS I WAS DRIVING UNDER 20 MILES AN HOUR AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE, WHILE PULLING OUT OF A SCHOOL'S DRIVE. TODAY, IT ALSO STARTED TO HAVE A VIBRATION-TYPE FEEL, WHILE DRIVING, UNDER 20 MILES AN HOUR, ON A STRAIGHT WAY, WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE, AND THEN IT DIDN'T WANT TO ACCELERATE, AT ALL, AFTER I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, AT A RED LIGHT, AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE, AS THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. I HAVE A AN APPOINTMENT, AT 9:00 AM, NEXT MONDAY (11-19-18), WHERE THEY'RE WANTING ME TO DRIVE THEM AROUND IN ORDER TO TRY TO GET THESE SAME ISSUES TO HAPPEN, WHILE THEY'RE IN THE VAN, WITH ME. THERE IS NO RHYME OR REASON AS TO WHEN THESE INCIDENTS HAPPEN AND I'M NOT CERTAIN I WILL BE ABLE TO GET THEM TO HAPPEN WHILE THE TECHNICIANS ARE IN THE VAN, WITH ME. MEANWHILE, I'M DRIVING AROUND WORRIED ABOUT GETTING HIT, FROM BEHIND, IF/WHEN MY VAN VIOLENTLY JERKS OR DECIDES TO STALL. THIS IS MY FAMILY VEHICLE. I DRIVE MY 10 AND 7 YEAR OLD SONS IN THIS. AS OF RIGHT NOW, THEY RIDE IN THE MIDDLE SEATS, AS I'M FEARFUL OF BEING REAR-ENDED AND DON'T WANT THEM IN THE THIRD-ROW BACK SEAT.
THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS OUT OF GEAR BETWEEN 1ST AND SECOND GEAR MOMENTARILY BEFORE SLAMMING BACK INTO 2ND GEAR. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE. WE HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE INTO DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AND EACH TIME HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THEY CAN NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM OR THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS FINE. THE MOMENTARY LOSS OF MOMENTUM IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS WHEN TURNING INTO ACTIVE TRAFFIC LANES. A CURSORY SEARCH OF THE INTERNET WILL SHOW THAT THIS PROBLEM IS RAMPANT AND THAT CHRYSLER CONTINUES TO FAIL TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE.

CAR WAS MOVING. ENGINE SHUT OFF. ROLLED 20 FEET. ENGINE THEM RESTARTED. STOP/START FUNCTION NOT WORKING PROPERLY. WENT TO THE DEALER, THEIR SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM WAS TO STOP USING THE AUTO START/STOP FUNCTION.
LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING AT A HIGH SPEED, 60-70 MPH. THIS PROBLEM WAS SAID TO BE ADDRESSED IN A JANUARY 2018. ON NOVEMBER 9,2018 WHILE ON I75 NORTH BOUND LANE IN TOLEDO, OHIO, BY EXIT 200, IN THE LEFT HAND LANE AT ABOUT 1:00 PM, THE PACIFICA LOST ALL .POWER. WHEN I WENT TO SHUT THE ENGINE OFF A WARNING CAME ON SAYING "CAR MUST BE IN PARK TO STOP. I THEN PUT THE SHIFT NOB TO DRIVE, THE CAR THEN TRIED TO BACKUP. I THEN PUT THE INDICATOR BACK TO PARK AND THIS TIME THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I THEN RESTARTED THE CAR. EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL. WITH ROAD RANGERS ASSISTANCE, I THEN WENT TO THE NEAREST CHRYSLER DEALER. THEY THEN CHECKED EVERYTHING OUT WITH THEIR COMPUTER. IT SHOWED PREVIOUS GLITCHES, BUT EVERYTHING WAS WORKING AS NORMAL. I THEN PROCEEDED ON MY JOURNEY. I CALLED CHRYSLER CAR AND DOCUMENTED THE PROBLEM.
HARD SHIFTING - GOING FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR THE VAN FEELS LIKE IT WANTS STALL OUT AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN A HARD JERK(FEELS LIKE YOU WERE HIT FROM BEHIND) THEN A LOUD KNOCK AND IT DROPS INTO GEAR AND TAKES OFF. MOST OFTEN HAPPENS WHEN IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. SOMETIME HAPPENS WHEN JUST TAKING OFF FROM A RED LIGHT. I HAVE BROUGHT THE VAN INTO THE DEALERSHIP OVER 8 TIMES IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM WITH THE MECHANIC AND CHRYSLER CARE FIRST TELLS ME IT IS THE ADAPTIVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL TRYING TO ADAPT TO MY DRIVING HABIT SO ITS THE WAY I DRIVE, THEN THEY TELL ME THAT IS THE WAY THE VAN WAS DESIGNED TO OPERATE SINCE WE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM IN THE SAME VAN BUT A BRAND NEW MODEL THAT WAS ON THE LOT. THEN THEY TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO.
THE ENGINE STALLED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 10MPH. JUST OUT OF BLUE THE ENGINE STOPPED AND I GET A MOVE SHIFTER TO PARK AND RESTART ENGINE MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN. (THAT ITSELF IS DANGEROUS TO MOVE THE SHIFTER TO PARK IN A MOVING CAR). THIS HAPPENED A FEW MONTHS AGO AT A RED LIGHT AND I HAD REPORTED IT. CLEARLY CHRYSLER HASN'T FIXED THIS ISSUE AND IT'S CAUSING FOR VERY DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. THESE PEOPLE ONLY STARTED AFTER THE RECALL FROM CHRYSLER FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO FIX THIS ISSUE.
I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS ABOUT 1 1/2 YEARS INTO OWNERSHIP. THE CAR STARTED TO SHIFT HARD. SOMETIMES WHEN IT WOULD SHIFT IT WOULD FEEL LIKE I WAS BEING REAR ENDED. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND I WAS TOLD EACH TIME THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. SEVERAL TIMES I WOULD BE PARKED AND SHIFT INTO DRIVE AND PRESS THE GAS AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE RIGHT AWAY. IT WOULD HESITATE, SHIFT REALLY HARD LIKE I WAS BEING HIT AND THEN THE CAR WOULD MOVE. ONE DAY I WAS STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I PRESSED THE GAS THE CAR STARTED TO MOVE. WHEN I GOT TO THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION THE CAR WENT TO SHIFT AND IT FELT LIKE I GOT HIT IN THE REAR AND THE CAR BECAME UNRESPONSIVE FOR A FEW SECONDS AND SLOWED DOWN. I LOST ALL CONTROL OF THE CAR. I TRIED TO PRESS ON THE GAS AND NOTHING HAPPENED. THEN AGAIN, IT FELT LIKE I HAD GOTTEN HIT IN THE REAR AND THE CAR STARTED TO MOVE. I DROVE RIGHT TO THE DEALER. AGAIN I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR A MONTH. THEY SAY THEY REPLACED THE VALVE BODY AT THAT POINT AND MY CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND COMPLETELY FIXED. ONE WEEK LATER, I WAS PARKED AT A STORE. I WENT TO START MY CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED AND THE BRAKES WERE LOCKED, THE CAR WOULD NOT START. I HAD BATTERY POWER, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT START, I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY SAID A GROUND WIRE CAME LOOSE, AND MY CAR WAS FIXED AND SAFE TO DRIVE. THAT NIGHT MY FAMILY WAS GOING ON A LONG DRIVE. TEN MINUTES INTO THE TRIP, WHILE DRIVING ON A MAIN ROAD, WE LOST ALL CONTROL OF THE CAR WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE CAR JUST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED, THE BRAKES LOCKED AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START. I HAD MY KIDS IN THE CAR FOR THIS. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE. THE CAR JUST SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING WITH NO WARNING. THIS CAR IS A HAZARD AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
FIRST THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT STRUT IS MAKING NOISE ALREADY HAS BEEN TO DEALER FOR IT STILL DOING SAME THING. HATCH DOESN'T OPEN ALL THE TIME, PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR MAKING NOISE BOTH ISSUES TAKING TO DEALER STILL NOT RIGHT AND MAKING NOISE, DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR JUST CLOSED. THE AUTOMATIC START STOP ICON RANDOMLY COMES ON AND MAKES IT HARD TO ACCELERATE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON TOOK IT INTO CHRYSLER FOR REPAIRS AND THREE DAYS LATER IT STARTED AGAIN WITH THE AUTOMATIC START STOP ICON SHOWING UP. THE VEHICLE IS MOVING WHEN THIS ICON COMES ON AND IS IN MOTION. IT ALL STARTED AFTER I TOOK IT IN FOR A VEHICLE RECALL AND THEY SAID THEY FIXED IT. I AM UNSURE OF THE RECALL DATE BUT I PURCHASED THE CAR IN DEC OF 2017 AND HAVE TAKEN IT IN MULTIPLE TIMES. IT HAS ONLY 19400 MILES ON IT.
WHILE PRESSING THE GAS GOING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR THE VEHICLE MAKES A SUDDEN JERKING MOTION ALMOST STALLING, TRANSMISSION ISSUES SINCE PURCHASED. IN A SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT, ROLLING FORWARD AT 10 MILES PER HOUR. MY FOOT WAS NOT ON THE BRAKE OR THE ACCELERATOR. SUDDENLY, THE CAR ACCELERATED OVER 1 SECOND UP TO ABOUT 20 MILES PER HOUR. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND THEY SAY THAT THE CAR'S COMPUTER HAS GENERATED MULTIPLE ERRORS, BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO INTERPRET THE ERRORS. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER FOR A WEEK, WITH NO SUCCESS IN DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM OR THE FIX.

I WAS INVOLVED IN A INJURY CAUSING ACCIDENT IN MY 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. MY VAN WAS STRUCK ON THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT QUARTER PANEL AND SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE THERE. THERE WAS NO FRONT IMPACT. THE SLIDING DOORS NOT CLOSING, THE DVD PLAYER NOT WORKING, THE RADIO NOT WORKING, THE SLIDING DOOR ON DRIVER'S SIDE STILL NOT WORKING AND THEY HAD TO COMPLETELY REPLACE THE GAS TANK BECAUSE I COULDN'T EVEN PUT GAS IN THE TANK IT WOULD SHUT OFF AND WOULDN'T LET GAS GET INTO THE TANK. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND TURNING A CORNER FROM A LOW SPEED (<20MPH) OR ACCELERATING AROUND A CORNER FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE HAS LOST POWER AND THE ENGINE JUST REVS AS IF IN NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE PLACED INTO PARKED AND RESTARTED TO BEGIN DRIVING AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 4 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF WITH LESS THAN 24,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ALSO JERKS WHEN ACCELERATING AT TIMES, USUALLY AROUND 15 MPH. SOMETIMES IT JERKS LIKE IT HAS BEEN HIT IN THE REAR. WE'VE TAKEN IT IN MULTIPLE TIMES TO THE SHOP AND THEY HAVE REPLACED A VALVE BODY RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION, BUT CONTINUE TO STILL HAVE ISSUES.

VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN ON CITY STREETS LESS THEN 30 MPH AND ENGINE AND VEHICLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM SHUT DOWN CAUSING NO ABILITY TO STEER VEHICLE SAFELY. VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP, NEEDED TO BE TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION AND RESTARTED AFTER ATTEMPTING A FEW TIMES. THE VEHICLE THEN WAS ABLE TO DRIVE ON.
I HAD MY 2017 PACIFICA FIXED AS PART OF THE RECALL FOR THE ENGINE STALLING ISSUE A FEW MONTHS AGO (18V049000). IT STALLED AT AN INTERSECTION, ACTUALLY ALMOST TWICE. THE FIRST TIME, IT SHUDDERED AND *ALMOST* STALLED AT AN INTERSECTION WHEN I ACCELERATED ON A GREEN LIGHT, BUT THEN AT THE LAST SECOND IT PICKED UP AND STARTED MOVING. A FEW INTERSECTIONS LATER, THIS TIME ON A SLIGHT SLOPE, THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN, I STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR, IT SHUDDERS AND STALLS. I GET THE "MOVE SHIFTER TO PARK" AND HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR. AFTER RESTARTING IT'S BEEN WORKING FINE SINCE. OBVIOUSLY THEY HAVEN'T FIXED THE ENGINE STALLING ISSUE.
For MANY years we've struggled with hard shifting by transmission. When brought to dealer, they couldn't find anything wrong. We also complained about a continuous ticking sound from dashboard when vehicle was turned off. It lasts for several minutes. We are now experiencing brake pedal issues where brake pedal fights against the foot when trying to push it down...and uncalled for instances of windows auto lowering. Only now am I learning that there have been several recalls for these items and we've never been informed. When looking up our VIN for recalls, the site say we have "0" unfixed recall items, even though we've never been informed of the recalls.

THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET JUST DRIVING STRAIGHT. THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE DISPLAY INDICATED TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK TO START THE VEHICLE. THE POWER STEERING SHUTS OFF. I WAS NOT GOING FAST AT THE TIME AND WAS ABLE TO STOP, PUT IT IN PARK, PRESS THE BRAKE, START THE VEHICLE, AND PUT IT INTO DRIVE. HOWEVER, I WAS IN TRAFFIC AND ALMOST WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE WHO WAS FORTUNATELY ABLE TO STOP IN TIME. THIS ISSUE AFFECTS THE BRAKES, ENGINE, STEERING, POWER TRAIN AND ALL AROUND SAFETY. I WAS LUCKY THAT I WAS DRIVING AND THAT MY KIDS WERE NOT IN THE CAR. I WAS GOING TO PICK THEM UP.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL AUTO SHOP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS WAS BURNT, BUT IT WAS NOT DETERMINED IF THAT CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,000. *TT UPDATED 11/29/18* JB
THE VAN WILL HESITATE WITH THE FOOT PUSHING THE GAS IN BETWEEN 10-20MPH AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN WILL JUMP FORWARD WITH A LOUD CLUNKING SOUND WHEN GOING TO THE NEXT GEAR. IT FEELS LIKE YOU GET REAR ENDED. THIS HAPPENS AT RANDOM. THE DEALER SAID THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE AND DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE AND SENT US ON OUR WAY. WITHIN A FEW HOURS AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER, THE VAN ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN. I FOUND THE BELOW LINK FORUM FOR PACIFICA OWNERS AND IT SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE. THIS SEEMED TO HAVE STARTED BACK IN JULY 2018 AFTER I HAD SEVERAL RECALL SOFTWARE UPDATES PUT IN PLACE. I WOULD JUST LIKE SOME HELP GETTING THIS RESOLVED AND MAKE OTHERS AWARE OF THE ISSUE FOR SAFETY REASONS. MY FEAR IS THAT MY WIFE WILL MAKE A TURN IN TRAFFIC AND THE VAN HESITATE AND HER GET T-BONED.

CAR WAS IN MOTION, IN TRAFFIC, USING CRUISE CONTROL ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY. AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO ACCELERATE AND PASS THE SLOWER CAR AHEAD. WHEN ACCELERATING TO OVERRIDE THE CRUISE CONTROL, THE CAR DECELERATED AND FELT AS THOUGH THE BRAKES WERE BEING ENGAGED. FORTUNATELY ONCOMING TRAFFIC DID NOT APPROACH BEFORE THE CAR WAS ABLE TO LIMP BACK THE LANE. MULLANE MOTORS SERVICED THE VEHICLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. TWO DAYS LATER THE CAR AGAIN DECELERATED WHEN APPLYING GAS TO PROCEED, A WARNING FLASH APPEARED THAT SAID ELECTRONIC THROTTLE NEEDS TO BE SERVICED. ALL THIS HAPPENED A FEW MOTHS AFTER WE HAD OUR CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE RECALL REGARDING THE CRUISE CONTROL AND TWO DAYS AFTER SERVICING TO FIX THE DECELERATION HAPPENING AS GAS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED.

I HAVE EXPERIENCED REPEATED AND WORSENING PROBLEMS WITH MY PACIFICA SHIFTING VERY ROUGHLY AND MULTIPLE SPEEDS, TO THE POINT WHERE THE CAR JERKS AND ACCELERATION STALLS. AUGUST 2018, MESSAGE TOLD HER THAT AUTO ON/OFF NEEDED SERVICE. VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AT 30MPH ON RESIDENTIAL STREET. TOOK TO DEALER, THEY REPLACE A BATTERY FOR AUTO OFF/ON.
