TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT OPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2002 CHRYSLER SEBRING. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE AIR BAG ON THE DRIVER SIDE EXPLODED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED AWAY. THE DRIVER HAD METAL FRAGMENTS IN THE ARM AS A RESULT OF THE EXPLOSION. BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
AIR BAG FAULT LIGHT ON. CHRYSLER SAYS THAT IT IS THE SEAT BELT TENSIONER ON DRIVERS SEAT. INTERNET SEARCH SHOWS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN CHRYSLER VEHICLES. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 45MPH A DEER AND TELEPHONE POLE WERE STRUCK WITH THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING THE ACCIDENT HOWEVER, AN HOUR LATER BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE THEREFORE, IT IS UNCERTAIN IF THERE WAS PRE-IMPACT BRAKING. THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE WAS WEARING A SEAT BELT AND NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE. AS A RESULT OF THE ACCIDENT THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY THE DEALERSHIP. THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAS THE VEHICLE PERFORMING AN INVESTIGATION. THE POLICE WERE ALERTED AND A REPORT WAS FILED AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE IS A 2002 CHRYSLER SEBRING LXI.
CONSUMER 2002 SEBRING AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND SEAT BELTS WERE INOPERABLE. *TS ***NAR*** THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR WAS DEFECTIVE. *NM
WHILE DRIVING AN ACCIDENT OCCURRED. THERE WAS SNOW AND ICE . CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AT 25 MPH. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY RIGHT AWAY. HOWEVER, THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED ABOUT TWO TO THREE MINUTES AFTER THE IMPACT. THIS WAS A HEAD ON COLLISION. BOTH THE DRIVER, AND PASSENGER WERE INJURED. *AK THE DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED BUT WAS NOT INFLATED. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED HALF WAY. THE DRIVER HIT THE STEERING WHEEL BENDING THE STEERING WHEEL. *TC
AIRBAG/CLOCK SPRING BROKE WHILE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN INTO A PARKING SPACE. THIS FAILURE MADE THE AIRBAG LIGHT COME ON AND THE STEERING TO MAKE A CLICKING SOUND WHILE TURNING. I CONTACTED THE SELLING DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED TO BRING THE CAR IN AS SOON AS I COULD. THE AIRBAG COULD DEPLOY ON IT'S OWN OR MAY NOT DEPLOY IN CASE OF A COLLISION. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. I FOUND TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN #0801001 AND #1900702 PERTAINING TO THIS PROBLEM AND NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP REPAIRED THE CAR WHICH I PURCHASED NEW LESS THAN 2 YEARS AGO, BUT IS OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE OF MILEAGE. I WAS CHARGED FOR THE REPAIRS. I THINK A SAFETY ISSUE, SUCH AS THIS, WHICH IS KNOWN ABOUT, SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER POLICY BY THE MANUFACTURER. *JB
AIR BAG DID NOT RELEASED IN CRASH WHERE MY VEHICLE, 2002 CHRYSLER SEBRING SEDAN, WAS GOING 20 MPH AND HIT BY VEHICLE GOING 45 MPH. MY VEHICLE SUSTAINED OVER $9000 DAMAGE. I RECEIVED A MINOR INJURY. *LA

AFTER TEN DAYS OF PURCHASE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND REMAINED ON EVEN AFTER DEALERSHIP REPLACED AIR BAG LIGHT MODULE. THIS PART WASN'T AVAILABLE FOR TWO MONTHS FROM THE MANUFACTURER. CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT VEHICLE WAS FINE EVEN THOUGH AIR BAG LIGHT WAS STILL ON. DEALERSHIP STILL HAS VEHICLE. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS.*AK
WHEN STOPPING AT A STOP AIR BAG INDICATION LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING, AND PASSENGER'S SIDE AIG BAG DEPLOYED INADVERTENTLY. AIR BAG SMASHED THE WINDSHIELD AND CONSOLE. *AK
REAR SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY PULLED THROUGH WHEN OWNER WAS ATTEMPTING TO INSTALL A CHILD SAFETY SEAT IN REAR. OWNER WAS SHOCKED TO FIND OUT THAT SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY WAS NEVER ATTACHED TO AN ANCHOR IN REAR ON ONE SIDE. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. *AK
