TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 37,000.
WARMING THE CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY AND BOTH AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. PRIVATE DRIVEWAY, NO COLLISION OR OTHER POSSIBLE SHOCK. THE AIR BAG INDICATOR HAD BEEN LIT FOR APPROX 2 MONTHS AND I HAD SCHEDULED REPAIRS BUT HAD NOT HAD THEM COMPLETED. CAR WAS AT IDLE AFTER APPROX 10 MINUTES OF IDLE RUNNING. *TR
ENGINE SEIZED UP WHILE DRIVING IT. I WAS ON THE PARKWAY AND THIS PUT ME IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. NO LIGHTS OR WARNING AT ALL....CAR WAS WELL MAINTAINED AND OIL CHANGED EVERY 3,000 MILES. SLUDGE BUILD UP IN ENGINE AND I WAS ADVISED THIS WAS A DEFECT ON THESE ENGINES. I WAS ADVISED BY THE MECHANIC THAT CHANGING THE OIL REGULARLY WOULD NOT OF PREVENTED THE BUILD UP, THIS IS A DEFECT AND IS HAPPENING TO THESE ENGINES. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 134,000.

THE MANUFACTURER'S ENGINEER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND CONCLUDED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 97,000.

THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN MAKING TURNS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10E059000 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED A LOUD, ABNORMAL NOISE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE HAD BECOME SEPARATED FROM THE WHEEL WELL. IN ADDITION, THE LOWER BALL JOINT WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 10E059000 (SUSPENSION). THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
I CAN REMEMBER ALL OF THE DATES THAT THESE PROBLEMS OCCURRED BUT, I DID HAVE AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE AND THEY DID HAVE A TOTE TRUCK TO TAKE MY CAR TO A BODY SHOP. THIS BEEN REPAIRED SOME TIME THREE TO FOUR TIME A YEAR. I KEEP GOING TO GET THIS REPAIRED. I BOUGHT TWO CARS SAME MAKE AND MODEL AND EVERYTHING ON BOTH CARS BEEN REPAIRED AND ITS NOT BECAUSE OF AN AUTOMOBILE INCIDENT ITS BECAUSE OF THE BARRON BEEN COMING APARTS. I HAVE BOUGHT A NEW MOTOR ON BOTH CARS. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT. PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH BOTH CARS. I AM SO AFRAID OF THESE CARS BECAUSE I BOUGHT THEM NEW AND I KNOW I BOUGHT A NEW ENGINE. *TR
WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, LOOKING LEFT TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, MY RIGHT AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND SMASHED WINDSHIELD. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I NOTICED A BURNING SMELL. I LOOKED TO MY RIGHT AND I SAW SMOKE. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I THEN TURNED OFF MY VEHICLE. THE SMOKE STOPPED. I HAD MY DOGS BED ON THE PASSENGER SEAT. WHEN I MOVED IT, I SAW THE BURN WHOLE IN THE SEAT AND THE DOG BED. IT WAS 85 DEGREES. I DID NOT HAVE THE HEATED SEATS ON. IF I DID NOT HAVE THE TOP DOWN THE CAR WOULD HAVE FILLED WITH SMOKE CAUSING MAJOR VISIBILITY PROBLEMS. IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE DOG BED THAT SMOTHERED THE FIRE, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN FLAMES. MY DOG AND I MIGHT NOT BE HERE TO REPORT THIS FIRE. AFTER CHRYSLER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE THEY DETERMINED THERE WAS NO DEFECT. CHRYSLER WILL NOT TELL ME WHAT CAUSED IT OTHER THAN IT WAS NOT A DEFECT AND THEREFORE NOT THEIR PROBLEM. THE DEALER I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO SAID THERE WAS A SHORT IN THE RELAY. THERE IS NOTHING I COULD HAVE DONE TO PREVENT THIS.THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. IT COULD HAPPEN TO OTHERS. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD COMING TO A STOP LIGHT WHEN I NOTICED MY CAR HAD JUST TURNED OFF WITHOUT WARNING. LUCKILY THERE WAS A TURN LANE AND THE LIGHT WAS RED SO I DIDN'T CAUSE ANY ACCIDENT. AFTER THAT I TOOK MY CAR TO SEE WHY THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE MECHANIC SAID THE CODE STATED IT HAD TO DO WITH THE OXYGEN SENSOR. I REPLACED THE PART AND THE CAR RAN OK UNTIL ANOTHER TIME I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND THE CAR TURNED OFF AGAIN. I'VE NOTICED THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THEN GOES OFF AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS. I WAS TOLD I PROBABLY NEED TO REPLACE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET WHICH I BOUGHT BUT HAVEN'T REPLACED BECAUSE SOMEONE TOLD ME ABOUT THE RECALL OF OTHER SEBRINGS THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CAR WAS RUNNING FINE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT HAD GONE OFF AND THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN WITH NO WARNING. I LOOKED UP AND SAW THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER SAME COMPLAINTS OF THE ENGINE STALLING AS ONE IS DRIVING. THE CODE GIVEN WAS H07. I AM DISABLED AND CANNOT AFFORD TO TAKE A RISK TO DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD AND THIS HAPPEN AGAIN. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHERE I SHOULD TAKE MY CAR TO HAVE THE DEFECTIVE PART REPLACED. I AM ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW COMING OFF TRACK AND GOING THROUGH THE RUBBER AND I AM AFRAID THE WINDOW WILL SHATTER BECAUSE IT WON'T STOP GOING UP. THIS WAS A MATER OF SEVERE INJURY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE AND COULD HAVE BEEN DEATH OR MAIMING. TRAVELING TO A NORMAL STOP AT AN INTERSECTION TRAFFIC LIGHT, BEING THE FIRST CAR TO THE LIGHT ON FLAT PAVEMENT, THE CAR'S FRONT PASSENGER SIDE LOWER BALL JOINT CAME OUT OF ITS SOCKET AND THE CAR SKIDDED TO A HALT ON THE PAVEMENT RIDING ON THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE FRAME WITH THE WHOLE TIRE AND BRAKE ASSEMBLY DANGLING BY THE BRAKE LINE HOSE OUTSIDE THE WHEEL WELL. HOW COULD CHRYSLER BE ALLOWED TO SEND A FAULTY LIFE SAFETY DEVICE SUCH AS A THIS CRITICAL STEERING, SUSPENSION BALL JOINT THAT HUMAN LIFE DEPENDS ON INTO THE PUBLIC FOR SALE? I AM OUTRAGED THAT MY WIFE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED BY CHRYSLER'S SLIPSHOD ENGINEERING AND PRODUCT PLACEMENT. THERE IS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT IF SHE HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED I WOULD BE CALLING A FUNERAL PARLOR TODAY TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TODAY FOR HER BURIAL. SHE WAS MINUTES AWAY FROM TRAVELING TO A HIGHER RATE OF SPEED WHEN SHE LEFT THE SHOPPING CENTER. THANK GOD THE LIGHT TURNED RED. I HOPE SOMEONE AT NHTSA CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS TERRIBLE AND DANGEROUS LIFE THREATENING VEHICLE ON THE ROADWAYS FOR THE SAKE OF SEBRING OCCUPANTS AND OTHER VEHICLE OCCUPANT'S WHO ARE AT RISK OF DEATH IF NOTHING IS DONE TO CORRECT THE ISSUE OR BANISH THE VEHICLES ALTOGETHER FROM ROADWAYS. THREE SEBRINGS PASSED US WHILE WE WAITED FOR THE TOW TRUCK AND THOSE PEOPLE ARE AT THE SAME RISK OF DEATH BY DRIVING THOSE CARS. CHRYSLER SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CARELESS AND NEGLIGENT ACTIONS. AND, THEY SHOULD RECALL ALL OF THESE PRODUCTS TO PROVIDE A SAFE ALTERNATIVE AT NO COST. I AM OUT MENTAL ANGUISH AND PROPERTY. THEY KNOW THEIR BUSINESS AND THEY TAKE THE LIABILITY SO THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE. IN AM VERY HAPPY MY WIFE DIDN'T GET KILLED. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. THE LAW ENFORCEMENT HAS FAIR ME. MY CAR HAS BEEN REPORTED STOLEN 3 TIMES AND NEVER MADE IT TO A DATA BASE. THIS VEHICLE IS BEING LOOKED FOR IN 14 DATA BASES IN 12 COUNTRY'S. THIS CAR IS A THOUSAND POUNDS LIGHT AND I WOULD LIKE TO I OW HOW HOLDS TOW COMPANIES AND LAW ENFORCEMENT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FAULTY VEHICLE REPORTS? THE DEALER?. WHY HAS THIS CAR NOT BEEN CRIMINALLY PROCESSED.
THE SEAT WARMERS OVERHEAT. WHEN DRIVING, I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING. THE SEAT WARMERS BURNED A QUARTER-SIZE PLACE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS SITTING IN IT. SHE GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND I TURNED THE SEAT WARMERS OFF, BUT THERE IS A BLACK MARK IN THE CENTER OF THE PASSENGER SEAT AND WE CAN NO LONGER USE THE SEAT WARMER SAFELY. WHY HASN'T THE CAR MODEL BEEN RECALLED BY CHRYSLER? *TR
2004 2.7L CHRYSLER SEBRING GTC CONVERTIBLE V-6 ENGINE SUFFERED COMPLETE FAILURE AT 107,000 MILES. WHILE DRIVING ENGINE STARTED TO BUCK, SURGE, AND MAKE A SERIOUS KNOCKING SOUND, WHITE SMOKE POURED OUT OF THE TAIL PIPE. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, CAR STALLED IN IT'S TRACKS, UNABLE TO RUN AGAIN. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED AWAY. MECHANIC STATED ENGINE WAS RUINED DUE TO COOLANT ENTERING THE INTERNALS. *TR

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DRIVERS SEAT MALFUNCTION. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN HIS WIFE ENTERED THE VEHICLE, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT COLLAPSED BACKWARDS INTO THE BACK SEAT. APPARENTLY, BOLTS HAD BROKEN CAUSING THE SEAT TO COLLAPSE. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR PREVIOUS MODELS.

AFTER ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE CAR ACCELERATOR OR THROTTLE BEGAN TO STICK AND ACCELERATE INTENSELY, GOING UP TO 80MPH WITH THE BRAKE ENGAGED. I PULLED OFF THE MAIN ROAD, CONTINUING TO BRAKE AS HARD AS I COULD UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY SHUT DOWN THE CAR. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE CAR AND NARROWLY AVOIDED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT, MY CAR HAS HAD EVERY SERVICE RECOMMENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER MANUAL. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE TWO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBERS: 04V313000(FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS) AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 03V443000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP), BUT THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
ELECTRICAL AND ENGINE PROBLEMS DEFECTIVE ENGINE CAUSED CAR TO CUT OFF INTERMITTENTLY. *TR
I HAD JUST TURNED AROUND IN A PARKING LOT WHEN THE DRIVERS SIDE LOWER BALL JOINT SEPARATED FROM THE CONTROL ARM AND THE WHEEL COLLAPSED AND THE INNER CV JOINT SEPARATED. IF I HAD BEEN TRAVELING ON THE STREET AT THE TIME, A MAJOR ACCIDENT WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKELY. ABOUT A THOUSAND MILES LATER THE PASSENGER SIDE BALL JOINT SEPARATED FROM THE CONTROL ARM JUST AS THE CAR WAS PUT INTO REVERSE. THIS TIME THE DIDN'T MOVE MORE THAN ABOUT 6 INCHES AND NO OTHER DAMAGE WAS DONE. *TR
AFTER TURNING AROUND IN A TRAILER PARK PARKING LOT JUST STARTED GOING FORWARD WHEN THE LOWER BALL JOINT SEPARATED FROM THE LOWER CONTROL ARM CAUSING THE LEFT FRONT TIRE TO COLLAPSE FROM UNDER THE CAR AND DISABLING THE STEERING. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED ON THE STREET AT NORMAL SPEEDS IT WOULD PROBABLY HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR CRASH. *TR
ON MY 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING TOURING CONV., WHILE PARKED I OBSERVED THE PASSENGER REAR TIRE LEANING OUT AT THE BOTTOM AND LEANING IN AT THE TOP OF THE TIRE. IT WAS VERY NOTICEABLE THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. I DROPPED THE CROSSMEMBER FRAME FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND FOUND OUT THAT BOTH BOLTS WERE BROKE OFF ON THE PASSENGER REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE BROKEN BOLTS PIECES WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. *TR
PASSENGER SEAT HAD BEEN FEELING WARMER THAN USUAL FOR A COUPLE MONTHS SO KEPT THE SEAT AT HEAT LEVEL 3 INSTEAD OF 5. IT WAS OK FOR AWHILE BUT THEN BURNED A HOLE THRU THE SEAT AS WELL AS MY JACKET. SMELLED THE BURNING SO I TURNED THE SEAT OFF. TURNING THE SEAT OFF STOPPED THE BURNING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, HE ACTIVATED THE FRONT DRIVER'S HEATED SEAT WARMER AND THE SEAT BECAME EXTREMELY HOT. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A BURNT HOLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
I BOUGHT MY USED TOURING MODEL SEBRING IN MAY OF 2011, AND SINCE THEN IT HAS REPEATEDLY JUMPED OR LEAPED FORWARD WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR IDLING, EVEN WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. I HAVE ALMOST CAUSED A FEW ACCIDENTS BY RAMMING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AT A STOP LIGHT AND SUCH. AS WELL, IT STALLED OUT ON ME WHEN I MADE A COMPLETE STOP ON 10/11/11. I HAVE SEEN MANY, MANY OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS AND WISH I KNEW WHAT THE ISSUE WAS. WILL BE TAKING IT INTO THE REPAIR SHOP TOMORROW. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, A POPPING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE ENGINE AND NOTICED THAT THE RADIATOR OVERFLOW TANK WAS PUNCTURED AND SPILLING COOLANT OVER THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC, WHERE THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE RADIATOR OVERFLOW TANK AND GASKET FOR THE UPPER INTAKE VALVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,737.
PURCHASED 2004 SEBRING CONVERTIBLE MEMORIAL WEEKEND 2011. DURING DELIVERY FROM UTAH AUTO GALLERY OIL LIGHT FLICKERED. DEALER CHEATED OIL AND SAID WAS ION. OIL CHANGE IN JULY WITH SYNTHETIC OIL. VEHICLE ENGINE SEIZED WHILE ON MOUNTAIN HIGHWAY I80, OUT SIDE OF SALT LAKE CITY. DISCOVERED VIA INTERNET THAT 2.7 ENGINES DEFECTIVE. DEALER NOT RETURNING CALL. RESEARCH SAYS THE SIGN THAT THE ENGINE IS STARTING TO SEIZE IS THE FLICKER OF THE OIL LIGHT. VEHICLE SOLD WITH THE POTENTIAL OF A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE, WHICH HAPPENED A MONTH AND A HALF AFTER VEHICLE SOLD. CAR HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN 922 MILES SINCE PURCHASED. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS ACCELERATING FROM A STOP WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED WITHOUT WARNING THE CONTACT THEN COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET AND TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO A DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HIM THAT HE NEEDED TO REPLACE THE OIL PUMP, THE CAM SHAFT, AND ADDITIONAL VALVES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 131,000.
FRONT-END NOISES WERE REPORTED TO THE SELLING DEALER WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY. AFTER THREE SHOP VISITS TO A CARY, NC, DEALER DURING WHICH THE TECHNICIANS "COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM," WE DECIDED TO JUST LIVE WITH THE NOISES. AFTER MOVING FROM NORTH CAROLINA TO FLORIDA, THE NOISES GOT WORSE. A CLERMONT, FL, CHRYSLER DEAL CHARGED US $100 TO CHECK OUT THE PROBLEM AND "COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING," BUT THEY DID OFFER TO REPLACE THE BALL JOINTS AND CONTROL ARMS FOR ABOUT $1100. BY THAT TIME, OF COURSE, IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. WE TOOK IT TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC, WHO FOUND THAT THE BALL JOINTS AND CONTROL ARMS DID INDEED NEED TO BE REPLACED, SO WE DID. THE DISCONCERTING PART OF THIS IS THAT THE PROBLEM WHEN THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD ABOUT 30,000 MILES ON IT AND THAT THE TECH'S AT TWO DEALERS EITHER COULDN'T DETERMINE OR DIDN'T BOTHER TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THEN, THE REPLACEMENT THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE UNDER WARRANTY HAD TO BE DONE OUT OF POCKET AT ABOUT 58,000. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS SORT OF THING COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS. NOW, FROM THE FRONT END SOUNDS WE'RE HEARING AGAIN, WE MAY NEED TO HAVE CV JOINTS REPLACED. WE HAVE AN EXTENDED DRIVETRAIN WARRANTY, AND THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE COVERED, SO IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE HOW THE CHRYSLER DEALER HANDLES IT. *TR
I HAVE A 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT HAS DOOR HANDLES THAT HAVE A METAL COVERING ON THEM. I HAVE REPLACED THEM SEVERAL TIMES. THE METAL COVERING ON THE HANDLES START TO PEEL OFF AND IT CUTS YOUR HANDS IF NOT CAREFUL. MY GRANDDAUGHTER REQUIRED STITCHES FROM OPENING THE BACK DOOR. I HAVE ALSO HAD SERIOUS CUTS. AFTER TALKING TO OTHER SEBRING OWNERS I HAVE FOUND THAT THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE DOOR HANDLES AND BEING CUT. I WOULD LIKE TO SHE THIS CHANGED TO DIFFERENT HANDLES, HOWEVER I AM ONLY ABLE TO GET THE SAME TYPE OF HANDLE FOR MY CAR. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC AND LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE REAR PASSENGER STRUT FAILED DUE TO CORROSION. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE STRUTS WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED BUT THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 102,000.
CHRYSLER 2.7 L V6 ENGINE PRONE TO SLUDGE AND FAILURE, DESPITE CONTINUOUS MAINTENANCE. *TR
*WHAT HAPPENED? USE AS MUCH SPACE AS YOU NEED. WE OWN THIS 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING AS WE PURCHASED IT NEW IN THE FALL OF 2004 FROM WESTBORN CHRYSLER IN DEARBORN. IN THE SPRING OF 2005 WE TOOK A TRIP TO FLORIDA, AND AS WE WERE GETTING OFF THE FREEWAY, AT THE FIRST STOP LIGHT, THE CAR WAS JERKING TO THE POINT THAT IF WE DID NOT PUT IT IN PARK IT WOULD HIT THE GAR IN FRONT, THEN IT STOPPED. IT STOPPED SEVERAL TIMES IN THAT TRIP. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER; THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. WE DROVE THE CAR SHORT DISTANCES SINCE, BUT RECENTLY STARTED TO DRIVE ABOUT 20 MILES ONE WAY, WHEN IT STARTED TO HAVE THE SAME SYMPTOMS. WE EXPERIENCE SEVERAL CASES OF SUDDEN STALLING, JERKING AND SUDDEN STOPS WHEN TURNING. IT HAPPENS WHEN HAVE TO STOP AFTER A HIGHWAY DRIVE. IN ONE INSTANCE IT ALMOST HIT OUR HOUSE. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND WERE TOLD THAT THE RIGHT DOWNSTREAM O2 SENSOR, AND THE HARNESS CONNECTOR HAVE TO BE REPLACED AND THE FUEL INJECTOR NEEDS TO BE SERVICED. ALSO THE POWER STEERING PUMP IS NOISY. CHRYSLER WOULD PAY FOR THE PARTS, BUT WE WOULD HAVE TO PICK UP THE LABOR COST OF $1,103, BECAUSE THE CAR HAS 47,000 MILES, IT IS SO FAR SINCE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THEY CLAIM THIS IS NOT COVERED BY THE 70,000 MILES OR 7 YEARS WARRANTY. IT IS THE ENGINE AND/OR TRANSMISSION THAT ARE MALFUNCTIONING, BUT THEY TRY TO FIND DIFFERENT THINGS TO GIVE ME THE RUN AROUND AND NOT TO COVER THE EXPENSES. AFTER ALL, T REALLY THING THAT THIS WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, THIS IS ONLY THE EFFECT OF A DIFFERENT CAUSE, THAT IS NOT EVEN FOUND. 2. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THAT ONCE IT RAINS, THE CARPET ON THE DRIVER SIDE IS ALWAYS WET. 3. A THIRD ISSUE, WE HAD TO REPLACE THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR. THE ENGINE ON MY 2004 SEBRING CONVERTIBLE GTS BLEW WHILE DRIVING DOWN I 95 TOWARD MIAMI GOING 75 MPH. I LOST ALL CONTROL AND POWER TO VEHICLE. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF EXIT 129 IN FT PIERCE TO A GAS STATION. ONLY TO HAVE CAR TOWED TO FIRESTONE WHERE THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY ENGINE HAD BLOWN AND THAT IT WAS A VERY KNOWN AND COMMON PROBLEM IN THIS ENGINE. *TR
2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING LIMITED. OIL SLUDGE IN ENGINE LED TO ENGINE FAILURE AT 50,000 MILES. THIS CAR WAS PERFECTLY MAINTAINED, INCLUDING REGULAR OIL CHANGES AND OTHER MAINTENANCE. THE ENGINE SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED. APPARENTLY THIS IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS. MY MOTHER WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD WHEN THIS HAPPENED. SHE HAD JUST HAD DENTAL SURGERY THE DAY BEFORE AND WAS RECOVERING FROM A SEVERE INFECTION. SHE HAD TO SIT IN 98 DEGREE TEMPERATURES FOR MANY HOURS AFTER HAVING TO PUSH THE CAR TO A SAFE SPOT. THE CAR WAS ALMOST HIT BY OTHER CARS AS SHE PUSHED IT AND SHE SUFFERED HEAT EXHAUSTION AND OTHER PROBLEMS AS A RESULT OF THE INCIDENT. WE HAVE NOT YET BEEN ABLE TO FIX THE CAR AS IT WILL REQUIRE COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE ENGINE. *TR

I HAVE OWNED A 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SPORADIC THROUGHOUT THE TIME I'VE HAD THE CAR. AFTER DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THEN NEEDING TO COME TO A STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, STOP SIGN, OR TOLL BOOTH, THE CAR PERIODICALLY DOES ONE OF TWO THINGS; IT EITHER STALLS, WHICH THEN I HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR AND ALL IS FINE, OR THE RPMS DROP AND THIS CAUSES THE CAR (BY ITSELF) TO REACT BY REVVING UP THE RPMS AND LUNGING FORWARD WHILE MY FOOT REMAINS ON THE BRAKE. IT'S NOT SO MUCH THE STALLING PART THAT BOTHERS ME, AS I RESTART THE CAR AND GO. HOWEVER, ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, I NEARLY HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WHEN THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD. THE OCCURRENCES ARE INFREQUENT, BUT IT IS ONLY GOING TO TAKE ONE TIME THAT THE NEARLY BECOMES AN ACCIDENT. THIS ISSUE OCCURS MAYBE 15-20 TIMES PER YEAR. OUT 20 OCCURRENCES, IT WILL STALL 18 TIMES AND LUNGE 2 TIMES. NOTHING HAS EVER BEEN FOUND TO BE MECHANICALLY WRONG WITH THE CAR. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL. I'VE SEEN ENOUGH COMPLAINTS TO TAKE THE TIME TO SEND THIS TO YOU. *TR

MY CAR HAS CUT OFF ON ME 4 TIMES IN THE PAST 2 MONTHS. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN EVERY 2-3 WEEKS, WHEN I COME TO A FULL STOP. ALSO, WHEN MY FOOT IS ON THE BRAKE, THE CAR WILL VIBRATE VIOLENTLY AND THEN LUNGE FORWARD BY A FOOT OR SO. I HAVE ALMOST HIT CARS IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE OF THIS. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES AS WELL. I'VE GOTTEN MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER CHECKED- NO PROBLEM, I'VE GOTTEN RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION CHECKED- ALL FINE. I'VE HAD AN A/C FLUSH, TRANSMISSION FLUSH, AND AIR INDUCTION/.FUEL SYSTEM CLEANED OUT. EVERYONE SAYS THAT THE CAR IS FINE, AND I'VE HAD HALF A DOZEN MECHANICS CHECK EVERYTHING OUT. NO ONE CAN FIND A PROBLEM. AND A NEW THING HAPPENED, JUST THE OTHER DAY, WHEN I HAD STARTED MY CAR UP FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE DAY, THE CAR DIDN'T WANT TO SHIFT ABOVE 30 MILES. THE RPMS WERE REALLY HIGH, BUT I WAS AT 30 MPH. THE MECHANICS CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT AT ALL. I SAW A POSTING ON ANOTHER WEBSITE WHERE SOMEONE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS, BUT NO ONE COULD FIND THE PROBLEM. JUNE 23RD IS THE FIRST DAY THAT THESE THINGS STARTED HAPPENING. *TR

A SPARE TIRE WAS INSTALLED; YET, WITHIN FIFTEEN MINUTES WHILE DRIVING TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, THE CONTACT SUDDENLY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, VEERED OFF OF THE ROAD AND CRASHED. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED AND THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE POLICE REPORT LISTED A STATEMENT FROM A WITNESS INDICATING THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS NOT ON THE VEHICLE PROPERLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS THE SAME AREA WHICH SHE HAD THE TWO PRIOR FAILURES. SHE STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA RECALL 09E056000 (SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER BALL JOINT). THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 60,000.

WE HAVE A 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE WHICH HAS A PROBLEM WITH LURCHING FORWARD AND UNABLE TO STOP (NO BRAKES). THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES AND WE FEEL IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. WHEN THE CAR IS PLACED INTO REVERSE TO BACK UP, THEN SHIFTED INTO DRIVE AND THE GAS PEDAL PRESSED, THE CAR CONTINUES TO TRAVEL IN REVERSE. I PLACED THE CAR IN PARK, THEN SHIFTED TO DRIVE. THE CAR CONTINUED TO TRAVEL IN REVERSE. AGAIN, SHIFTED TO PARK AND BACK TO DRIVE. THE CAR THE DRIFTED FORWARD WHILE THE ENGINE SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS REVVING. I CONTINUED TO SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE NUMEROUS TIMES, AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO DRIFT AND MAKE THE REVVING SOUNDS. FOR THE PAST 2 DAYS, I HAVE SHIFTED FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE AND HAVE TO STOMP ON THE GAS PEDAL, AT WHICH POINT THE ENGINE SEEMS TO LURCH INTO GEAR AND THEN DRIVES FINE.
