TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 70 MPH AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNINGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE EVAPORATOR VALVE IN THE FUEL TANK WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE (NEW) THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD OCCASIONALLY NOT TURN ON. THE DEALER WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING WITHOUT SEEING THE PROBLEM TILL THE WARRANTY RAN OUT, THEN THEY OFFERED TO SELL ONE TO ME. THE PROBLEM WOULD OCCUR 1-2X PER MONTH MORE OR LESS TILL NOW. TONIGHT THE LIGHTS CONTINUED TO TURN ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. READING ONLINE TONIGHT IT LOOKS LIKE MANY MORE OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING SIMILAR ISSUES. *TR
EVERYTIME I FILL MY 2005 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY WITH GAS. AS SOON YOU LEAVE START TO MOVE CAR SHUTS OFF. THEN YOU HAVE TO PUT CAR IN PARK RESTART HOLD GAS PEDAL DOWN UNTIL SOME GAS IS USED UP. AFTER ABOUT FIVE MIN. THE CAR IS FINE & NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN UNTIL FILL UP. *TR
I WAS THE SECOND OWNER OF A 1998 TOWN AND COUNTRY AND THOUGHT EVERYTHING WAS GREAT UNTIL MY 2 YEAR OLD CLIMBED INTO THE DRIVER SEAT, PULLED THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK AND INTO NEUTRAL. HAD THE BACK SLIDING DOOR NOT BEEN OPEN FOR ME TO JUMP IN AND PUT THE VAN INTO PARK IT WOULD HAVE COASTED INTO THE NEIGHBORS FRONT PORCH. ON ANOTHER OCCURRENCE I WAS LOADING THE VAN WITH SOME ITEMS FROM THE REAR WHEN I REALIZED MY DAUGHTER AGAIN GOT INTO THE DRIVERS SEAT TO PRETEND DRIVE. I REALIZED THAT SHE WAS THERE AND WENT TO THE FRONT BUT WAS TOO LATE. SHE PULLED THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK (NO KEYS...THEY WERE IN MY POCKET) AND RAN INTO THE ANOTHER NEIGHBORS FENCE AND TRASH CANS. I WAS FURIOUS THAT THE DEALER I SPOKE TO SAID THE SHIFT INTERLOCK WAS NOT INSTALLED UNTIL 2000 AND REFUSED TO HELP SO I TRADED IT IN FOR A 2005 WITH ONE PREVIOUS OWNER. I THOUGHT WE WOULD BE ALRIGHT SINCE IT IS SUPPOSE TO HAVE A SHIFT INTERLOCK (THE DASH EVEN STATES TO PRESS THE BRAKE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK) BUT JUST TODAY MY DAUGHTER, NOW 4, CLIMBED INTO THE DRIVERS SEAT (WITHOUT THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION) AT MY SISTER-IN-LAWS HOUSE AND DROVE MY 2005 VAN INTO HER SCHOOL VAN. I NOW NEED TO REPLACE THE FRONT BUMPER. CHRYSLER HAS YET TO DO ANYTHING AND I AM NOT THE FIRST TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS. *TR
ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. HEADLIGHTS FLICKER ON AND OFF, SPEEDOMETER GOES TO 0, FUEL GAUGE GOES TO EMPTY, RADIO GOES OFF THEN ON, ALL LIGHTS FLICKER ON AND OFF, TURN SIGNAL FLICKERS OFF AND ON, LOCKS DO NOT WORK ON OCCASION. VAN DOES NOT ALWAYS START AND SOMETIMES STALLS, AIR BLOWS OUT THE VENTS EVEN WHEN THE VENTS ARE OFF. I HAVE HAD THE BCM REPLACED 3 TIMES, THE CLUSTER PANEL REPLACED, THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED 2 TIMES, FAN REPLACED, REPLACED POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER. CHRYSLER SERVICE CENTER CLAIMED THEY CHECKED ALL WIRING. VAN IS STILL NOT FIXED. I FEEL IT IS DANGEROUS FOR MY CHILDREN. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE HAD IT TOWED BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT START. I HAVE HAD IT WORKED ON SO MANY TIMES. I HAVE READ OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM. AIRBAG LIGHT IS NOW ON AGAIN. *TR
DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK. THE REAR SLIDING DOORS LOCKED UP AND WOULD NOT OPEN. THE FRONT SIDE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK. I GOT THE REAR SLIDING DOORS OPEN BY CLIMBING IN THE BACK AND PULLING THE TAB UP. THE PASSENGER REAR SLIDING DOOR IS POWERED, BUT IT WOULDN'T WORK EITHER I FINALLY GOT IT WORKING BY PULLING THE FUSE ( WHICH WAS NOT BLOWN) BUT WHEN I PUT THE FUSE BACK IN IT STARTED WORKING. THE SAFETY ISSUE HERE IS , WHAT IF A CHILD WAS IN THE BACK AND THIS SITUATION ACCURED. AND YOU WERE UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THE HEADLIGHT COVERS BEGAN TO HAZE DUE TO MOISTURE. OVER TIME, THE HEADLIGHT COVERS TURNED YELLOW, LIMITING THE ILLUMINATION OF THE HEADLIGHTS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 66,000.
DOOR LOCKS HAVE REPEATEDLY STOPPED WORKING ON MY 2005 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY. SITES LIKE HTTP://AUTOFORUM.CLASSIFIEDS1000.COM/DODGE-GRAND_CARAVAN/POWER_LOCKS_WILL_NOT_LOCK_OR_UNLOCK SHOW THAT THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD RESULT IN A RECALL ON WHATEVER IT IS THAT 'S WRONG WITH THE DOOR LOCKING SYSTEM ON THESE CHRYSLER/DODGE VANS. *TR
2005 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY WITH 70000 MILES FOR THE LAST YEAR EVERY FEW WEEKS THE POWERS LOCKS STOP WORKING AND I FIND THAT I HAVE TO PULL A FUSE OUT AND REPLACE IT, THE FUSE IS STILL GOOD BUT RESETS THE DOOR LOCKS FOR A FEW DAYS TO SOMETIMES A FEW WEEKS. BUT THEN AGAIN YOU STOP TRY TO LOCK THE DOORS HEAR THE HORN BEEP AS IF THE LOCKS SET BUT THEY DO NOT. *TR
UPON HEARING A NOISE WHILE DRIVING, I CHECKED UNDER THE CAR AND NOTICED A LUBRICATION SEAL WAS NO LONGER PERFORMING ITS FUNCTION. MY LOCAL MECHANIC INSPECTED THE CONTROL ARM AND RELATED BALL JOINTS AND INFORMED ME THE CONTROL SYSTEM WAS GOOD AT THIS TIME, BUT THE STEERING RACK WAS LEAKING AND WOULD REQUIRE REPLACEMENT SOON. SINCE I ONLY HAD ABOUT 64,000 MILES ON MY 2005 TOWN & COUNTRY, I WAS SURPRISED ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAD NOT HAD THIS TYPE OF FAILURE IN THE 40 PLUS YEARS OF CAR OWNERSHIP, EXCEEDING 100,000 MILES ON EACH CAR. RICH IN CHRYSLER CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE INFORMED ME THE TOWN & COUNTRY DOES NOT HAVE AN HISTORICAL PROBLEM WITH THE POWER STEERING RACK & PINION; THUS A RECALL TO FIX THE PROBLEM IS NOT NECESSARY. ALL THAT IS REQUIRED TO SHOW THE STANCE CHRYSLER IS TAKING IS FALSE IS A SIMPLE INTERNET SEARCH AND A SEARCH ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM. CHRYSLER SHOULD HAVE RECALLED ALL TOWN & COUNTRY'S FOR THE PROBLEMS WITH THE POWER STEERING. THEY SHOULD NOT BE WAITING FOR THE 'TOYOTA RUG UNDER THE ACCELERATOR' ISSUES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED IN HER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 67,000.
I PURCHASED A PAIR OF RAIN-X 28 LATITUDE WIPERS FOR A 2005 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY MINIVAN IN NOVEMBER OF 2008 FROM WALMART AT THE COST OF $18.97 EACH. I HAD BEEN PLEASED WITH THEIR PERFORMANCE. ON THE 8TH OF JULY WHEN I TURNED THE WINDOW WIPERS ON DURING A SEVERE RAINSTORM, THE PASSENGER SIDE WIPER FLEW OFF. THE PREINSTALLED CONNECTOR CAME OUT AND I COULD NOT FIND IT. I STOPPED AT THE WALMART STORE WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED IN EAST TAWAS, MICHIGAN TO SEE IF THERE WAS EITHER A GUARANTEE OR SOME WAY I COULD GET ANOTHER CONNECTOR. I WAS TOLD BY THE AUTO DEPT. MANAGER ON DUTY THAT THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE AND THAT THE WIPER SHOULD BE REPLACED EVERY 6 MONTHS ANYWAY AND THERE WAS NO WAY TO GET ANOTHER CONNECTOR. THE TOWN & COUNTRY IS A 2ND VEHICLE AND LITTLE USED. IT HAD LESS THAN 3000 MILES ON IT SINCE NOVEMBER WHEN THE BLADES WERE REPLACED. IT IS ALWAYS GARAGED. THERE IS NO SIGN OF WEAR ON THE DRIVER?S SIDE BLADE AND BOTH BLADES WIPED CLEAN UNTIL THIS INCIDENT. I HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW BLADE, BUT WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW A BLADE THAT IS ADVERTISED FOR WINTER, SPRING/FALL, AND SUMMER HAS TO BE REPLACED EVERY 6 MONTHS WHEN NOT WORN. I REALIZE THAT THE DURABILITY AND LONGEVITY IS DEPENDENT UPON USAGE, BUT THIS SEEMS A LITTLE EXTREME TO ME. I HAVE NEVER REPLACED BLADES THAT OFTEN AND HAVE NEVER PAID THAT MUCH FOR BLADES BEFORE SO I EXPECT THESE BLADES TO LAST LONGER AND FROM THE CONDITION OF THE DRIVER?S SIDE BLADE IT LOOKS LIKE THEY WILL. IT IS NOT MY FAULT THAT THE PREINSTALLED CONNECTOR FELL OUT. I DO NOT KNOW WHETHER IT BROKE OR NOT HOWEVER, I VIEW THIS AS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED TO THE DRIVERS SIDE WIPER, IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. *TR

MANAGER ON DUTY THAT THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE AND THAT THE WIPER SHOULD BE REPLACED EVERY 6 MONTHS ANYWAY AND THERE WAS NO WAY TO GET ANOTHER CONNECTOR WITHOUT PURCHASING A NEW WIPER. I CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY HAZARD. IF IT HAPPENED TO THE DRIVERS SIDE WIPER AND A CAR OR SOME OTHER OBSTACLE WAS IN MY PATH THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE I WOULD NOT HAVE SEEN IT AND A SERIOUS ACCIDENT COULD HAVE OCCURRED. THE MINIVAN WAS DRIVEN LESS THAN 3000 MILES SINCE THE NEW BLADES WERE INSTALLED. THE CAR IS ALWAYS GARAGED. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING CARS FOR 58 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD A WIPER FLY OFF. I BELIEVE THAT THERE HAD TO BE A DEFECT IN THIS WIPER. THE WIPER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WORKS FINE SHOWING NO SIGNS OF WEAR. *TR
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN LOWEST GEAR AND WOULD NOT DOWN SHIFT AND THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE OVER 40 MPH. CHRYSLER DEALER STATED "REQUIRES RELEARN" AND HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPAIRED. *TR
AIR BAG SYSTEM FAILED @ 48,000 MILES. LOCATED IN MICH, DEALER SAYS CAR NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL. *TR
2005 CHRYSLER T&C LX-36K MILES, HAVE A PROBLEM WITH LOCKING LEFT SLIDING DOOR (AUTOMATIC OR MANUAL WAY, TRIED BOTH WAYS) MINIVAN IS FOR KIDS, AND LOCKS HAVE TO LOCK. *TR

ON 2005 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY, POWER DOOR LOCKS COMPLETELY STOP WORKING. VAN ONLY HAS ONE KEY HOLE! PULLING THE BATTERY CABLES, FIXES THE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY, THEY STOP WORKING AGAIN. DEALER WANTS $90 TO UPGRADE SOFTWARE. INTERNET SEARCH SHOWS THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ! SOFTWARE/ UPDATE PROBLEMS SHOULD BE FIXED AT NO COST. *TR
THE POWER DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK EITHER WITH THE FOB OR WITH THE POWER LOCK BUTTON ON THE DOOR PANELS. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF DISCUSSION ON THIS TOPIC EACH WITH SEVERAL COMPLAINTS, ALL OF THEM SAYING THAT THERE IS NO PERMANENT FIX. THIS VEHICLE HAS ONLY ONE KEY ENTRY, SO THAT YOU CAN OPEN ONLY THE DOOR WITH THE KEY AND THE ONE BEHIND IT WITHOUT CLIMBING INTO THE VEHICLE AND CRAWLING AROUND INSIDE. THERE IS MUCH ADVICE ON THE INTERNET FOR TEMPORARY FIXES THAT REQUIRE OPENING THE HOOD AND UNHOOKING THE BATTERY CABLE DAILY TO RESET A COMPUTER ETC. *TR
DEALER PERFORMED RECALL ON AIR BAG SENSOR (IN THE BUMPER) WITH IN DAYS CLOCKSPRING FAILED. AND AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. DEALER REFUSED TO REPAIR UNDER RECALL. REPORTING PARTY FEELS THIS IS A LIFE SAFETY ISSUE AND CHRYSLER SHOULD COVER REPLACEMENT AS THEY DID FOR ALL THE EARLY CLOCKSPRING FAILURES. OWNER COST $283. *TR
2005 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY - IN JUNE 2009 TURN SIGNALS WOULD NOT WORK AT TIMES. THEN HEADLIGHTS AT VARIOUS TIMES WOULD NOT COME ON UNLESS TURNED IGNITION ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES. DIMMER SWITCH REPLACED. NO PROBLEMS FOR A FEW MONTHS. THEN SAME PROBLEM OCCASIONALLY WITH HEADLIGHTS. JULY 20, 2010 LIGHTS SWITCHED OFF AND ON WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. *TR
COMPONENT: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND 1/1 O2 SENSOR USAGE MULTIPLE O2 REPLACEMENT THROUGH YEARS. NOW MECHANIC IS STATING PMC MAY NEED TO BE CHECK RE PROGRAMMED. ACCORDING TO MECHANIC, THE MAJORITY OF REPAIRS FOR CHRYSLER ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND O2 SENSORS ISSUES. *JS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE LATCHES AND SLIDERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
ALL FAILURES PROGRESSED IN SEQUENCE OVER A PERIOD OF TIME. DOOR LOCKS FAILED TO LOCK AND OR UNLOCK INTERMITTENTLY USING POWER CONTROLS. INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS AND GAUGES WOULD FLICKER AND PULSE ON AND OFF, AT TIMES JUST OFF AT NIGHT FOR DIFFERENT PERIODS OF TIME, USUALLY MINUTES. HEADLIGHTS WOULD FLICKER BETWEEN BRIGHTS AND DIMS OR ON AND OFF. RADIO LIGHTS FLICKER ON OR OFF. INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATORS LIGHT UP FOR MINUTES AT A TIME AND THEN SHUT OFF WITH APPARENTLY NOTHING WRONG. SEAT BELT AUDIBLE ALARM SOUNDS ON OCCASION WHEN DRIVING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. COOLING FAN TURNS ON HOURS AFTER PARKING AND CAN ONLY BE SHUT OFF BY REMOVING FUSE OR DRAINING BATTERY. ENGINE STALLS AT HIGH SPEED ABRUPTLY, AND TURNS BACK ON. TRANSMISSION DISENGAGES AND THEN RE-ENGAGES AFTER A FEW SECONDS. OCCASIONALLY THE IGNITION SWITCH WILL NOT PROVIDE POWER TO THE STARTER UNTIL AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS AND A FEW MINUTES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WOULD HEAR A NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP HIMSELF, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE NOISE HAD BECOME LOUDER OVER TIME. IN ADDITION, THE STEERING WHEEL MOMENTARILY SEIZED ON ONE OCCASION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
LIGHT CAME ON INDICATING AN ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAGS. LIGHT ON MOST TIMES THE CAR IS STARTED, HOWEVER, A FEW TIMES IT DID NOT APPEAR. WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A SHORT IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OF THE SRS LOCATED IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT CLIP. THE SHORT WOULD RESULT IN THE AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOYING. *TR
THIS COMPLAINT IS IN REFERENCE TO A 2005 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY MINIVAN. THE APPROXIMATE MILEAGE IS 67,000. UPON NOTICING WHAT APPEARED TO BE A FLUID LEAK ON THE GROUND IN MY DRIVEWAY, I LOOKED BUT COULD NOT FIND THE SOURCE OF THE FLUID. AFTER A SCHEDULED VISIT TO A LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER REPAIR CENTER, I WAS TOLD THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP/RACK & PINION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF ROUGHLY $1400. THIS IS RIDICULOUS - IN ALL OF MY YEARS I HAVE NEVER SEEN A FAILURE OF A MAJOR STEERING SYSTEM IN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. AFTER RESEARCHING COMPLAINTS ONLINE I HAVE FOUND THAT MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THIS SAME VEHICLE. WHAT CAN BE DONE TO FORCE A SAFETY RECALL ON THIS PRODUCT?? *TR

I TALKED TO A CHRYSLER REP. A FEW TIMES, BY PHONE, WHO REQUIRED THAT I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, WHICH I WAS TO PAY FOR. I DID. BUT CHRYSLER WAVED THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THEY TOLD ME THAT CHRYSLER WAS NOT GOING TO COVER THE COST OF THE FIX. AS THE RECALL AT THAT TIME DID NOT INCLUDE MISSOURI. ONLY 20 SOME STATES IN THE N.E. AREA. THEY DID HOWEVER HAVE THE LIGHT TURNED OFF FOR A WEEK OR SO, THEN IT CAME BACK ON. AND ON ONE 80 MILE DRIVE I MADE, THIS 'AIRBAG' LIGHT CAME ON AND OFF AROUND 100 TIMES. IT STILL COMES ON AND OFF MAYBE NOT THAT FREQUENTLY . I THINK CHRYSLER SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO TAKE CARE OF THIS, & THE SEAT BELT RETAINER ISSUE, WHICH IS ALSO INTERMITTENT. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THE TECHNICIAN NOTICED THE POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL WAS LOW AND UPON INSPECTING THE BUSHINGS NOTED A LEAK WHICH HE ATTRIBUTED TO THE (RACK AND PINION STEERING ASSEMBLY). I STARTED HEARING A WHINNING NOISE COMING FROM THE HOOD OF THE VAN A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO. THE NOISE WAS WORSE WHEN THE WEATHER WAS COLDER AND THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT IN AND DISCOVERED THAT THE POWERSTEERING FLUID HAD LEAKED OUT AND THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REASON THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WASN'T BECAUSE OF THE POWERSTEERING BUT BECAUSE THE EGR VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS WELL AS THE BRAKES (FRONT/BACK) NEEDED REPLACING. JUST HAD THEM REPLACED NOT THAT LONG AGO. $2300.00 LATER. DRIVE AWAY, 1 WEEK LATER ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN, NOW I HAVE AN ENGINE OIL LEAK AND THE EMISSIONS EXHAUST SYSTEM IS FAULTY. I ONLY HAVE 55,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE AND IT IS LESS THAN 4 YEARS OLD, I WOULD EXPECT THIS FROM AN OLDER CAR. I WENT TO A MECHANIC TO FIND OUT WHY THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. HE TOLD ME IT WAS THE EGR VALVE (EXHAUST SYSTEM EMISSION CONTROL GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE) THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED.
